This I Know: Seeing God in the World He Made (based on Jesus Loves Me)

As a Christian parent who also loves and appreciates the work of physicists and astronomers, it’s very difficult to find children’s books that foster a love of creation that not only includes our expanded knowledge of the universe, but also leaves the door open for the concept of TIME to firmly be a created thing, and entirely inside of God’s hands regardless of what we continue to learn regarding its relativity and nature. The image of the page containing this text is what sold me from the beginning: “The light of the stars, through the shadows of space, Traveled millions of miles to brighten my face. God is here and He’s there and He’s always wherever, He’s now and He’s then and He will be FOREVER.” It carries the sweet aroma of Sir Isaac Newton’s sentiments about God’s relationship to time; a complete fearlessness that there is anything we could ever discover or learn that could possibly diminish Him: “He is not eternity and infinity, but eternal and infinite; he is not duration or space, but he endures and is present. He endures forever and is everywhere present; and, by existing always and everywhere, he constitutes duration and space. Since every particle of space is always, and every indivisible moment of duration is everywhere, certainly the Maker and Lord of all things cannot be never and nowhere.” Without burdening small children with weighty, metaphysical concepts, the author skillfully places something like a mental door-stop to help children keep a wide openness to conceiving God as outside of time, in a matter-of-fact, beautiful way placed in perfect continuity with the rest of the book’s exultant praise of the more tangible and observable aspects of nature. This was incredibly well done.

As a mother and a children's book author and I always make sure to read through the books to ensure it is fun, interesting, and educational for my 2 beautiful daughters. First of all, love the cover! I love the title in gold and I can imagine touching the title if it is an actual copy, hopefully the title is embossed. I am not a Christian but I just love the illustrations, the details are great. The story is very positive and also heart warming, i have a soft spot for sisterly love because I have 2 daughters. The illustrations colors are also right for the mood and I enjoyed just looking at the illustrations. I also love the rhymes and I can imagine my 6 year old squeaked with delight. Children love repetition and “Jesus love me, this I know. For the ___ tells me so” this part at the end of each page is great, is repeated but using different words. The fonts are difficult to read though, not sure whether it is reading on Kindle. I wanted to give 5 stars because double spread illustrations are a lot of hard work and expensive but because of the fonts, i have to minus away the 1 star but if the author decided to edit the fonts, I will change it to 5 stars! Overall, I think this will make a great christmas present and I personally like reading this story.

This was a truly mesmerizing read! Lovely writing, straight from the heart, with sensational illustrations that enhance the wonderful message in the book. (I put an image here from the shooting star page.) And, even better, at the end of every double page, a clever rhyme softly repeats the message ".... this I know", with a variation to match each beautiful page. This is a gorgeous and touching book, that celebrates the marvelous creation we call our world with great feeling. Well done to author Clay and illustrator Natalie."

I am in love with this book! It is positively stunning and delivers a beautiful reminder of God's love. As a Christian woman, wife, and mother, I am so inspired when I read something like this. It gives me hope and a feeling of great joy! I highly recommend this book for everyone! Jesus is the reason! Very well done sir, very well done!

Gorgeously written and illustrated, the verse flows effortlessly like butter and the powerful message of seeing God's beauty in all the blessings around us, make this a must read. At a time when the world struggles with unprecedented challenges, this beautiful book reminds us of the best in all of us, and our ability, through faith, to weather life's storms to reach better days ahead.

What an amazingly wonderful book! This story shows children God's love for them by taking them on a trip through nature where every wonder the kids experience points out how much He loves us. The artwork is soft and gentle like the message, and I loved the scripture references added to the pictures so that parents or children can return to those specific verses in their Bibles if they want to read more. My favorite page was the one about the universe. It almost brought tears to my eyes. I can't wait to read this to my kids.

This is one of the most beautifully illustrated books I have ever seen! I love how engaging each scene is. Readers will learn to see beauty and God in all things. This I Know teaches us all to be present and accept each moment as it is. Parents will share special moments with their children as they read and discuss this lovely book.

I loved this sweet story full of reminders of God's love. There are reminders all around us. Creation declares His glory! I like how it was written in rhyme and tied into the beloved song Jesus Loves Me. Great for all believers. The illustrations were great too. I will look up more by this author and add this book to my favorite shelf.

Beautiful illustrations. Text that tells of the truth of God's creation, revealed through the eyes of a young girl. This is a treasure and a blessing of a book. I look forward to reading it over and over with my grandchildren.

This book is BEAUTIFULLY written and illustrated! I am a 1st grade teacher who is obsessed with picture books as it is, and I was excited to come across this book for a birthday gift for my niece. I can’t wait to give This I Know to her! I think I may need a second copy for my house as this may have just jumped to one of my top favorite picture books. I also loved the addition of finding the Bible verses hidden within each page to look up!

This book was magical and uplifting from the moment I pulled it out of the box. I was surprised by the dramatic, deeply beautiful dust cover, so pretty I could frame it. The story is kind, loving and heartfelt...just like a sweet child. The message affirms God’s love for us through the treasures of family and nature.

The book has a nice rhyming sound. Natural feeling cadence. Inspiring story that reinforces God's love. I like reading it as much as she likes listening.

This is a lovely book. Beautiful words and illustrations. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars, is because it’s very wordy and lengthy for little ones’ attention span.

I got this as a gift for a friend’s baby shower, and it is such a sweet little book! So beautifully illustrated and a great message. I had read a review saying that the text was hard to read, but this must’ve been fixed because it wasn’t hard to read at all in my copy :)

This book is absolutely incredible. I wept reading it to my little ones. The details included in both the wording and the illustrations are just like nothing else I've seen. They highlight the truth of God's character in an original yet 100% Biblical way. Rhymes flow beautifully, nothing is forced. The PERFECT addition to every child's library. Would make an awesome gift as well!

It is a short charming story. The idea of basing a story around the the song 'Jesus Loves Me'. And the illustrations are absolutely adorable. By far my favorite part.

I bought this for my 4 yr old granddaughter. We love it. The illustrations and the text are outstanding. This will be a keepsake based on the song, “Jesus loves me, this I know.” I highly recommend it for any age.

This book touches on all different emotions from joy to sadness, fear to wonder, nostalgia to satisfaction, and beyond. It is such a sweet reminder that if we pay attention, we can see our Creator and His love for us in the creatures, places, and other wonders He created. I also love looking for what's hidden in each image! =)

An amazing children’s book demonstrating Gods love in all creation! So many kids Christian books are trite or poorly written. This book has high quality writing and illustrations, and most importantly is true! I purchased copies for my friends too!!

The illustrations in this book are absolutely gorgeous. The style overall is simple, yet whimsical. The rhymes are natural and flow nicely and the scriptures are brilliantly blended in. Perfect for any child or bible loving adult. Would also be wonderful to add to a homeschool curriculum!

The sweetest story!

its been a while since i have read a children's book that has moved me like this one. yes, it is beautifully illustrated, but the story is so wonderfully written. i love that it rhymes! it is simple and fun enough to read to my 4 year old and he'll enjoy it and it has so much depth and beauty in every page that it let me to a great conversation with my 10 year old as well. It easily flows into the question, how do you see God in your day? In our walk? in school? so well written and so creative. every parent should read this to their children. i will be buying more copies to give as gifts. Such a beautiful book.

This story is a true delight. Over the course of a day, we follow a family on their adventure through the beauty and majesty of our world. It is illustrated so beautifully, and the lyrical rhymes are rhythmic and precious. I'm not Christian, and while I would consider this a Christian book, I found such immense value in it - I think the book succeeds in transcending the boundaries of creed, showing the rich beauty of the world all around us.

A wonderfully well-written book with magical pictures children will delight in. A heartfelt story about all the beauty and love GOD gives us in our world: kids will recognize a favorite song and relate to the family's sights while on a family trip across the land. Its story reminds us that we are surrounded by LOVE—a wonderful book for children.

I like books that are not only fun to read aloud and beautifully illustrated but that also have content which reflects truth and the beauty of God's creation, especially his children. This is a wonderfully written and even more beautifully illustrated book! My daughter loved finding the “hidden” Bible verse references on each page. The rhyming words flowed and I love reading it out loud to my kids. Highly recommend! I am buying more copies to keep on hand for baby shower gifts!

This book will send shivers down your spine. It's beautifully written showing the ways we know God is with us and loves us. The illustrations are precious and kids will enjoy all the detail. It makes me excited to pack the car and explore!

First of all, the illustrations in this book are gorgeous! The way it captures the beauty in nature is breathtaking. The story is so sweet, and even more than that, draws your attention to the sweet message that God and His love is at the center of everything. Great job on this one!

My son loved the characters and the animals. He also loved the Jesus loves me so, This I know parts. He kept asking me to read them. This is a beautiful book! Love the colors used!

This illustrated story is about a family that one day goes on a road trip and sees and cherishes the wonders and the beauty of the world as God created it. The story is in a poem style with rhymes and the drawings are bright and beautiful, and we really liked it. It reminds us that all that we see in nature around us, however big or small, they are wonderful and Jesus loves us. I received a free copy of this book but that did not affect my review in any way.

“This I Know” is written in a fun rhyme, has great illustrations, and keeps my 2 and 4 year olds engaged and asking sweet questions that help us point them to Christ. My son calls it “The Camping Book” and the night after we read it for the first time he was literally pulling books off the shelf to find it. If I’m too tired or it’s too late, I also like how I can read one page per spread and it is still a sweet story. I also recently bought this book for my nephew’s fifth birthday. Great read!!

What a wonderful children’s story book about God. Written to help and encourage our children to grow in their faith. I watched/listened to the video version on Facebook at 5am (U.K. time) and the narration, by the author himself; was beautiful, with soothing melodic tones. The illustrations are detailed and presented on each page beautifully, extremely well done and I love the page repetition of ‘Jesus Loves Me, This I Know, For The ( ) Tells Me So’. In all honesty, I think this book is quite possibly THE best children’s story book ever written about faith and trusting in God. A true testimony of faith and a book that will capture the hearts of children, and adults too. LOVE IT!
