This book is one-of-a-kind, like Tyler. He was in my camp cabin weeks before his first diagnosis. He had a sling on his arm and killed a high ropes course. I remember his love for others more than anything. That love came straight from Jesus, and I can tell he could not remain silent out of that same love. See you in heaven, Tyler.

Like most of America, I was made aware of Tyler Trent's story on October 20th, 2018; when I was watching my alma mater, Purdue, play against #2 Ohio State on a nationally-televised game. Tyler's story was shared, and during the interview, he predicted Purdue would upset Ohio State. And UPSET Ohio State they did, playing their best football and inspired by their honorary captain, Purdue won 49-20. But this book is not about that Upset ... but about another kind of Upset. It is about Tyler's incredible journey, not only battling a rare form of cancer, but how Tyler persevered through his faith and family. Tyler's story is part of God's bigger story -- and Tyler was able to build a platform and a message of hope. The purpose of Tyler's life was to shine light on the grace that God offers all of us. In Tyler's words -- "The ultimate story ... the ultimate message that I pray comes through these pages and reflections is this: There is Hope. There always has been and always will be. No matter the choices you have made in your life, there is Hope. There is always an opportunity to leave a legacy. There is always an opportunity to help heal others' hurts." The book is beautifully written and includes raw, honest details from Tyler and his parents, as well as testimonials from many of Tyler's friends. Tyler Trent burst into national prominence last fall, and ESPN (and other media outlets) did a great job of sharing his courage, faith, and perseverance. That coverage didn't prepare me for Tyler's full story, which I read in two tearful sessions the past few days. Never again will I complain about whatever small misfortunes I encounter. Never again will I doubt what a single person can accomplish when they are carrying out God's will for their life. Never again will I say "this is too much for me to bear." I've already sent a copy to a close friend, and will be doing the same for other friends and my sons. Read this book, I beg you. It will change your life, not just for a few weeks, but for eternity.

Tyler's story took the world by storm after his prediction of the Ohio State vs Purdue upset... But for those of us who knew Tyler prior to this know that his story has been inspiring people long before his prediction of the upset. This book shows Tyler's journey and helps tell his story be heard. Because as he says best, "Everyone has a story... There just needs to be someone to listen to it." His story and writing will make you laugh, it will make you cry, but most importantly it will help others to understand the importance of faith, family, friendship, and the importance that we fund pediatric cancer research. Once you read this book you, like us, will forever be #TylerStrong.

Excellent book on a variety of levels. As a Purdue alum and die-hard fan, I loved the behind the scenes stories of Tyler camping out for games, his famous trips for the OSU and bowl games and just his general experience on campus and with the Purdue community. As a family member and friend of those that have had cancer, I was touched by the candid discussion of what Tyler and his family went through. As a Christian, I was encouraged by Tyler and his family's honest admissions of their struggles and how God helped them and sometimes to work in your lives. Tyler's co-author has done a great job of assembling Tyler's writings, his parents' thoughts, and the words of several family, friends, and strangers who were part of his life. I have no idea exactly how much Tyler's words were edited by the co-author, but they certainly sound like Tyler's voice from what I've heard and read from him. As an avid reader, I'm impressed by Tyler's clear, direct, touching and even humorous words. I'm sadden that this world will not get to read more of his thoughts. I look forward to heaven when Tyler can use his words to tell me all about all about what being in the presence of our Lord is like.

If you are a lifelong Boilermaker or just heard about Tyler Trent after he went viral last year this is the book for you. It gives you a peek into his life as he fought cancer, found faith and inspired not just Boilermaker Country but the entire Sports Nation. You will need tissues at times and other times you will be laughing, smiling and probably amazed at how he dealt with his cancer. It will be a great addition to your library. Boiler Up!
