The Story of Barack Obama: A Biography Book for New Readers (The Story Of: A Biography Series for New Readers)

I bought this book for my young boys because I need to teach them about integrity. I need for them to know how American Presidents act- how men who are truly to be honored, followed, embodied, remembered act. I want them to be proud of their country and proud of their president. They were both born during Obama’s second term and they should feel proud of that. As the picture shows, they love this book. It’s written in such an incredible voice that children can relate to and easily understand while also challenging them to think about what is important to them and how they want to make this country better. This should be standard reading for all kids.

Purchased for my 3yr old son. Soooooooo great to have. The POS when my son was welcomed into the world was our 1st African American President 😊😊😊😊

I truly like the colorful pages and the easy read. My child reads on a second grade level so it is an easy read for him. From beginning to end it speaks of the journey of Barack Obama. There is even a chapter about him and his wife. My child hasn't read it yet, but is familiar with the former president. Also, showed excitement to see who the book is about. I am looking forward to reading the entire book myself.

My Level 2 reader loves these books (we have 4-5). The chapters are the perfect length to hold his interest and the drawings capture his attention. We also love the extras along the way and the quiz at the end. Great series!

We loved this book a lot more than the Who HQ series. I think we might be switching over. The review questions and illustrations were much more engaging. It’s definitely worth the extra $3.

My 9 year old loves this book. Sort of an easy read but interesting

The content in the book itself is good but the condition the book arrived in was terrible. The cover is peeling on the binding. I’m keeping it because my son as a research project he’s working on that he needs this book for but otherwise I would have returned it immediately.

Written well and had fantastic information for children. My Daughter used it to right a report for school.

What a great book for children to read. I enjoyed it as a adult. Lots of interesting information of a man that man a big difference in the world today. Love the pictures and the questions in the back of the book. I received this book from the publisher the review is my own.

Great book for kids. Loved the illustrations. I like the questions they ask to get the kids thinking and speaking about their feelings. Glossary in the back for them to look up words. Quiz as well in the back to see what they learn after reading.

Great introductory book for younger children to learn about Pres. Obama's early life. Concepts are presented in age appropriate ways with lots of illustrations and relatable terminology. My daughter (5.5) enjoyed the "quiz" at the end of the book.

This is an excellent biography of Obama for young children. My first grader really enjoyed. There's just enough detail to keep it interesting without overwhelming young readers. This series has a lot of interesting biographies, and we're going to explore some of the other titles.

I got this book for my soon-to-be six year old. He likes it. I like this series because they are well-written, well-illustrated and appropriate for new readers. I look forward to owning and reviewing more books from this series.

This a great book, it gets thorough w/o being boring. It has great graphics and interesting subboxes like myth and reality. I also think the thinktank questions give older elementary readers a place to jump off and engage with a different skill level. Love this series!

A very good book for the young reader or for anyone wanting simple info on Obama. There is nothing controversial, of course, just basic info that can be used as a stepping stone to deeper material. Recommended.

We have already read this book at least three times. It has a lot of excellent information. It is very colorful and easy to read and understand. I would recommend this book and the series of books to everyone.
