Basic airplane pilot's log book. Nice compact size.
I thought it was the same page layout as my ASA SP-57, but it's not. 1. It's small so it will fit in with your pubs bag, headset bag, kneeboard, etc. 2. It's well constructed with a nice cover. 3. It has spot in the back for various endorsements, type ratings, etc. 4. It is a basic FIXED WING pilot's log book. It has three columns for aircraft type: one column for ASEL (Airplane-Single Engine Land), one for AMEL (Airplane-Multi-Engine Land) and one blank column, that you can use for some other type of aircraft, seaplane, helicopter/rotorcraft, glider, etc. 5. All Columns: Date, Aircraft Make, Aircraft Identification Number, From, To, ASEL, AMEL, BLANK ACFT, Ground trainer, Dual received, Pilot in Command, Blank (could be Second in Command, Flight instructor, etc), Day, Night, CrossCountry, Actual Instrument, Simulated instrument, # of Instrument approaches, Landings, Total duration of flight, and a column for remarks, instructor comments, etc.
The ASA’s Standard Pilot Log is great for causal
I purchased this log for when I fly privately out of a local municipal airport. The ASA’s Standard Pilot Log is great for causal, fixed wing private pilots who prefer to keep their logs in a written format instead of an electronic device such as an iPad. Professional pilots might want to consider a more complex logbook, or one that is compatible with your company’s own standards. When evaluating the logbook, the following criteria was used: • Does the book match industry standards? • Does the book meet FAA requirements and regulations? • Is it easy to follow? • Is the book made of quality materials that won’t fall apart over time? • Does it come as advertised? Meets Industry Standards. The book holds up to industry standards and will be easily readable by any licensed pilot or aviation company. You can easily follow the entries to recall general details about past flights. The book meets all FAA requirements for logging flights, as well as providing extra information slots for personal use. Well Made. The Standard Pilots Log’s hardcover provides reliable protection against falls, drink spills, folding pages, and general wear from usage, so you don’t have to worry about it falling apart on you. The cover also hangs out over the pages about half a centimeter further protecting the pages from fraying and being crushed around the edges when being jostled around in a backpack or flight bag. The binding is well put together and withstands regular use. Improved Entry Pages. The entry pages have changed somewhat since the last Logbook, additional information sections including an ‘Additional notes’ section has been added. To compensate the entries are somewhat smaller than the previous editions but still provide ample amounts of room for filling out information. The compact size also allows for it to be easily stowed in your headset bag, knee bag, or in the planes seatback. Additional Notes Section. When logging your flight the additional notes section can be especially useful to record events are useful to aircraft mechanics. An example would be if you happened to break a few rivets on the propeller spinner. You can log that it happened in the additional information section. If it keeps happening you can compare flights to see if there are any similarities, helping narrow down where the problem might be originating. Reliable. Lastly, unlike electronic systems pen and paper is inexpensive, doesn’t crash, can’t be ‘accidentally’ deleted, and you don’t need to plug it in to an outlet to charge it. Overall the ASA’s Standard Pilot Log comes as advertised. It is a good logbook for casual usage and performs well for both new and old pilots.
Decent but very small
Decent but on the small side. Missing medical entries and other things that competing ones have because of its small size. Also the pages bleed through very easily when using certain kinds of pens. The endorsement sections at the back are so small I don’t think anyone could be able to write within the lines provided.
Small sized log book
Warning - this (ASA-SP-30) is a smaller logbook than, what I consider "standard". Also, the layout of columns, etc., is different than the standard logbook. I saw it was physically smaller when I received it but didn't realize the format was different until I opened the plastic wrapper, which was after the return window closed! Cleaver me, I bought two. The regular/standard sized book is the ASA-SP-57.
Pilot Log Excellent for Students
Okay this is my very first Pilot Log Book but based on what I have read and learned I am very happy I made this purchase. Easy to read and plenty of room for Endorsements the cheapest part of being a student pilot is this purchase and it will last a long as you will ever need it
Smaller than my other log books
This log book is smaller than the others, so it will be a different size on my shelf. Shipping was much longer than stated, so I had lots of entries to make when I finally received it.
Cover the same the inside no so much
I bought this logbook ASA-SP-30 two years ago. When I filled up the pages I reordered. The logbook I received this time, while the same on the outside, has a new layout inside. The new layout is more like a training logbook. I enjoy using this size logbook because it convenient to carry in a bag. I ordered a different logbook this. Hopefully ASA goes back to old layout.
Great book at great price
Perfect standard pilot logbook for me to start flying lessons. Seems well built and will definitely suffice.
The best standard.
A good quality logbook that has got just what you need. And, you get the satisfaction of completing the log book relatively quickly. Rather than a giant logbook that can take many years to complete.
Works as expected
Its a log book. Not much to say. The binding has held up. Only complaint is it is small to write in.

Perfect Size
This version and size if the perfect logbook. A must if flying small planes
great starter logbook
My first pilot log book and it was a great start.
Four Stars
Smaller than my last log book but has most of the same information.
Super Fast Delivery
Needed this for school. Ordered through Prime and it arrived 2 days later. This log book has a good size comment section to add additional notes which really comes in handy. Highly recommended.
Three Stars
Reasonable quality but not enough space for endorsements. I ended up trashing it and buying from Sporty's
Perfect for starters
Really good to start with
Nice little log book for the price

Private Pilot log book is great!
Use this product constantly as I pursue my PPL. Just what I needed.
Black. Book. For logging
It's a log book. Good to go.
Solid basic pilots log, well laid out.
Great price too.
Has what you need
Has what you need, it's missing some very specific endorsements for student pilots but it is extremely unlikely you will need to use them. Even if you do your CFI can just write it in on a blank page.
works as it should
should have a better design to allow more room for free hand notes. A lot of space wasted in hours boxes
Works
Good for student or private pilots. If you plan on going further (say CFI) you might want to get a different log book
Good book
Got the usual in there -- name section, flight logs, pre written endorsements, and notes.
Great
Just as described
Good price for a decent log book
Has plenty of pages and easy to fill out all important info. Also easy to store and carry.
Been using ASA for many people. Good logbook.
It's hard to decide on which brand to buy, based on the columns provided, but I've always been happy with the ASAs so I give them out as my normal logbook.
Great

Well made book. Like the convenience of ordering online.
Great logbook
Perfect logbook to build hours in for a PPL. Fits in my bag perfectly.
Everything You Need
As a beginner pilot, this log does everything I need. Would suggest purchasing if beginning like me.
Pilot Logbook
Filled up my old log book. Good price. Exactly what I use. Thanks.
Has all the entries needed. Great and simple. Good size.
Simple. Perfect.
Good Log Book
Some things aren't self explanatory, and a bit of an explanation page would be appreciated.
Its a log book
Does what a log book does best!
Good purchase.
As described. Smaller than I thought it would be.
Plain and simple
Small enough for your pocket or pack.
Book
Dont care about the book but my flight instructor is cute.
Very good quality! And the right size, light weight to carry in every flight.
The item was delivered on date as promised. It’s well packed, good quality and light and small enough to carry with me in every flight. The format is simple and was improved from my previous logbooks.

Really Good
Good flight book but scratches easily.
Great product
Once I become a flight instructor I'll use it. It's a great product in excellent condition can't wait to use it.👍
Great log book
Very nice book
fast shipment! international delivery only took a week - standard Amazon global
it arrived 6 days earlier than the original estimate date! ( South Korea) Very well done, thanks to the handling team!! for as the logbook, my only concern is that I wish it had a bookmark. other than that, super all around, I love it
Remote Control Plane Flyers Love This Log Book!!
I bought this book for my Dad for Father's Day! He is a hobby plane flier and I wanted to get him something to log all of his flights with his remote control planes - he loved it! This is a great and perfect idea for remote control plane hobbyists! :)
"Standard" says it all
The word "Standard" says it all. Nothing fancy, exactly what is needed to log flight times. Well made hard back bound set of pages.
Very Happy!!!
This flight log is exactly what I needed.
Not for glider pilots
This is not useful for glider pilots. Too many columns of info that is NOT relevant
Four Stars
Ok. It's a pilot log. Can't go wrong.
Five Stars
perfect size, good quality, and cheaper than the original price
Good price and durable
I have use it for a couple of years and no issues with it.
Small and compact
Great product and fast shipping. Exactly what I need to log my flight time
They changed this log from the previous logs, but ...
They changed this log from the previous logs, but didn't change the item number or indicate that there are differences. If you make point to point flight there is room to insert two airports, but if you make an intermediary stop or two, you will be challenged to squeeze those extra two stops into the small space allocated. Also, there is half as much room for number of landings as the number of instrument approaches. Room for notes is reduced also.
Good.
Came in plastic wrapping. Pretty good.
Good quality log book
Nice log book with solid cover

Thanks
It's a log book.
I bought these so my grandchildren could log their childhood flights. They are thrilled to have their own "real" pilot log, and as they grow older they will be able to revisit these special events. For that purpose ASA's log is fine. As a pilot, though, I prefer Jeppesen's basic "green page" log.
Great entry logbook
Great logbook for a recreational pilot

Great for Fixed wing. Not LTA
If you’re a fixed-wing pilot, I’m sure this is the perfect log book. But if you’re an L-T-A pilot, you’re better off ordering a log book from the BFA website. As a student pilot, there were too many blank spaces to fill in, and columns to cross out and replace so I went ahead and tossed this one, and luckily my mentor ordered me a logbook from BFA. I’m not giving a negative review for the quality of the book by any means, I just want to give a heads up for anyone who flies hot air balloons. Though, more experienced pilots may already know what I learned the hard way :)
Looks good. Arrived in a timely manner

Fast shipping, item as described
Good for new pilots
It is tiny but it has all the info needed
Just your standard log book
I like the hardcover better for log books. They seem to have more longevity.
Same old standard but some formatting changes.
Been using this log book for 48 years and they have now significantly changed the format for the first time. I like it the way it was, but I concede the changes do allow additional information (write small!). I'll get used to it.
Not really "standard" but it works.
How come everyone of these I buy is different? I understand that as a thirty year pilot stuff changes but a logbook? That said, this is totally acceptable, just different fromt the last "standard log book" i bought and each of the several before that.
It's a great price, though
The build quality leaves a bit to be desired. After sitting in my hot car all day, the binding seems a bit warped. It's a great price, though, so I can't complain too much. Still a worthy 4 stars.
Its ok, but I prefere the Jeppesem
This is my third logbook, but I don't like it as much as the previous Jeppesen pilot logbook. It only has 7 entries per page, whereas the Jepp had 13, so I will get through it pretty fast. The columns are arranged differently from the Jepp but that is ok, most of the required columns are there.
Great product and fast shipping
I selected 2 day shipping when I ordered this and it came the next day! Very satisfied :)
Good starter logbook
Typical logbook, great price, but wish it had more in the way of pre written endorsements and not the exact time columns I would like to have for students. Good if you just need a cheap book to log time for an added cat or class (i.e. glider or ses).
It's a pilot Log
It's a pilot log - simple as that. Listing should add an image of inside the log so that consumers can see the layout.
Good logbook
This is an old school log book. The one I kept all my first flight notations. This is a well thought out page by page layout of all the information on your personal flight history.
Quality logbook for the average pilot
This is a good quality pilot logbook for tracking your flight time. It is all the average pilot (non-commercial) needs.
Five Stars
Good item as described
Good and Basic
Works great for my friend who is learning to fly but I would not use for myself. Does not provide enough detail for military or commercial record keeping. Will stick to my Jeppesen flight book. But, for beginners or basic users, again it's a good solid built book with a nice case and spine and paper.
Five Stars
as expected, gift for a new pilot.

This book works just fine, it is small enough to fit right in the kneeboard, however it seems that not all the books of the same model are the same, it would be a good idea to have one picture of the INSIDE of the book so that you can see how the pages are laid out before you buy it???
