The Splendid Sampler 2: Another 100 Blocks from a Community of Quilters

When the paperback book was delayed I cancelled it and bought the Kindle version and I am delighted with this format. So easy to print the PDF's from it on my computer. Very happy, next time I'd just buy the Kindle version of a similar book. The patterns themselves are delightful and challenging and I look forward to completing all these blocks.

I loved the first book so when the second was issued I knew it had to become a part of my every growing library. I am not disappointed. The artists who created the first block sampler have excelled again and I do recommend the second collection. I have my favorites, we all do, and some of the blocks aren't for me; but if you can do add this to your collection as you will love it.

I am making 6.5” blocks daily. Lots of designers. Make use of scraps (lots of pieces 2” square or smaller). Easy to follow instructions. Good practice of commonly used techniques.

This book is perfect for the beginner and the expert quilt maker. The pictures are a huge help when the description on how to put a quilt together. It was easy to understand and worth every scent.

They designers and authors have outdone themselves. This is a wonderful book filled with all kinds of quilt blocks.

This is such a fun book, put together by quilters who know what they’re doing. Many different designers, teaching many different techniques

I've only made a couple blocks but love Pat Sloan & she makes it easy to have beautiful blocks

A friend and I did the first Splendid Sampler, it came out soooo beautiful! So now my whole quilting group that meets once a week is doing Splendid Sampler 2. What fun!

Very beautiful with excellent instructions. Great for all quilters. Iam pretty new and I even understand what to do. Photos in book give you ideals for your colors. Just buy this you wont regret it.

Do wish the "The Spendid Sampler" book editions would include digital ( pdf) files for many of the patterns which would prove most helpful .

Love it, easy to follow

I love the quilt blocks in this book, but find it difficult to use. One needs to hold the pages open with something very heavy to be able to read the pattern. A ring binder would be much better.

Hoy ya está a la venta el nuevo libro Splendid Sampler 2 donde nuevamente nos ofrecen 100 blocks diseñados por las grandes luminarias del mundo del Quilt. El tamaño de los blocks es igual al del Sampler anterior: 6-1/2” En esta ocasión, Pat Sloan ofreció los 20 blocks iniciales sin costo alguno a través de su página: The Splendid Sampler y para continuar el proyecto es necesario adquirir el libro. He de decirles que vale muchísimo la pena tenerlo. El diseño de los blocks es ingenioso, creativo y con toques contemporáneos. Hay blocks cuya elaboración es el “piecing” tradicional ( corte y costura ), hay blocks hechos con Paper Piecing, otros con la opción del appliqué tradicional o el appliqué con termofusible y también con el English Paper Piecing (forrado de piezas de cartón).

I have the first book in this collection and loved it! This one is great as well. The variety of the 100 blocks is great! I like both the unique pieced blocks along with the fun motifs on the applique blocks. All the patterns are included in the pull out section in the back along with images of a bunch of finished quilts.

I love The Splendid Sampler 2! The fantastic blocks still measure 6" so you can mix blocks from both books to create your own masterpiece, or make all the blocks from The Splendid Sampler 2 and have another gorgeous Sampler quilt. This book would make a great Christmas gift as beginners and veteran quilters alike will enjoy the new blocks.

I love this book. It has all the patterns and easy to follow instructions included.

Have Sampler 1 and now, have Sampler 2 for even more patterns for more quilt blocks to make up. These blocks are 6.5 inches which, when doubled in size, can become the standard 12.5" size quilt blocks or using 4 of them to make up a 12.5" inch size. Actually can be accomplished in 2 different ways if the standard 12.5" quilt block desired... If using 4 to make up the 12.5" size, can mix and match the blocks to complete a 12.5" quilt block too. They can even be enlarge larger to even make the barn quilt blocks that you see on painted wooden blocks throughout the country on barns, houses, etc.

Exactly as I expected

This is a superb book I have made several of the blocks already, the instructions are clear and easy to follow. The book is as new and arrived before expected.

only I do nor like the digital copy have problems knowing how to use properly digital files, need more reading
