Conflicted about what rating to give this because the right book is great, but I bought this for my girlfriend and when I got it I found out it only had about half the stories in it. It was missing: The Man who desired Gold The Gold Lender of Babylon The Walls of Babylon (though it's a stupid chapter anyway) The Camel Trader of Babylon The Luckiest Man in Babylon My suggestion is to buy a different version that actually has everything. I was very disappointed with this one.

This book can be read to anyone, even middle schoolers because they present savvy money lessons in stories. Just implementing one or two strategies from this book will transform your life.

I loved this book. I took my time reading it and realized this is one I would love to share with my family and friends because of the lessons contained within it.

The first couple of chapters are good but the book quickly gets very repetitive. You can instantly start understanding where the story is headed after reading the first 2 chapters.

Ordered the book based on a friend's recommendation. Although the book is short, it contains some high-level but very actionable advice for anyone to start improving their finances. Will recommend to anyone who needs advice on improving their financial discipline.

Great book it!! My downside is that it came with a stain some kind of red paste or jelly had a fruity smell to it .I was able to clean it up for the most part left the outer pages remaining stained. But definitely recommend the book thanks you amazon.

While most of this is basic principals, it holds true through time. This would be a great book for teens entering the workforce or anyone who earns and faces financial options. Very basic but truth to absorb and put into practice.

I like this book a lot.. The writting is 100% not to small.. Idk how people see that it is? But its like most books far as font size. I strongly recommend this book mainly to teenagers and anyone new to saving and investing money.. Far as people who have the money game down pat I dont think this book would help a lot.. But the stories are interesting and you may enjoy them as I did Con: it put the study guide in the back which tells you not to read all the stories at one time... Should of been up front... For this I give it 4 stars

This book was totally awesome. I highly recommend it for those that want to fenture and progress out on their own. The value in this book is everything most people know but overlook it daily. It has great stories one the topics and explains thing beautifully for most ages. I even gave to my 12 year and it changed his mentally with money almost instantly. Highly recommended. I am a motivational speaker of 11 years and it is in my top 3 recommended books. However I constantly loan it out and end up buying another copy time and time again. I like to refresh up on it atleast once a year.

Conflicted about what rating to give this because the right book is great, but I bought this for my girlfriend and when I got it I found out it only had about half the stories in it. It was missing: The Man who desired Gold The Gold Lender of Babylon The Walls of Babylon (though it's a stupid chapter anyway) The Camel Trader of Babylon The Luckiest Man in Babylon My suggestion is to buy a different version that actually has everything. I was very disappointed with this one.

An eye-opening book that i didnt expect much from. Most of the books i have read on financial freedom/literacy usually entails something like “law of attraction” and not much more than also being a decent, and generous human being (which isn't bad but not very specific). This book, however, is different, a quick read but a book i will forever come back to for a refresher. It genuinely tells you what you should do and why. Give this book to your kids before rushing them out to college or to work fulltime at 18 years old. School doesn’t teach the necessary skills that i’ve learned and read in this book.

Buy an investment that will produce more wealth. 2. Only take advice from experts. If you do not, you will pay for it. 3. Your investment in something is a child working for you. Get an army of golden slaves who work for you. Do not spend what your children or slaves make,since you want them to make more children or slaves who make money for you. 4. Live upon less than you earn. 5. A part of all you earn is yours to keep. 6. A desire for wealth starts people to become wealthy. 7. Knowledge leads to the accumulation of gold. 8. Therefore, be not swayed by the fantastic plans of impractical men who think they see ways to force thy hold to make earnings unusually large. Such plans are the creations of dreamers unskilled in the safe and dependable laws of trade. Be conservative in what thou expect it to earn that thou mayest keep and enjoy thy treasure. To hire it out with a promise of usurious returns it to invite loss. 61. Seek to associate thyself with men and enterprises whose success is established that thy treasure many earn liberally under their skillful use and be guarded safely by their wisdom and experience. 62. The stories from my token box should warn thee, before thou let any piece of gold leave thy pouch to be sure that thou hast a safe way to pull it back again. 63. This force of workmen also included many citizens of Babylon and its provinces who had been sold into slavery because of crimes or financial troubles. It was a common custom for men to put themselves, their wives or their children up as a bond to guarantee payment of loans, legal judgments or other obligations. Its treasures of gold and jewels were fabulous. One naturally pictures such a wealthy city as located in a suitable setting of tropical luxury, surrounded by rich natural resources of forests and minus. Such was not the case. It was located beside the Euphrates River, in a flat, arid valley. It had no forests, no mines—not even stone for building. It was not even located upon a natural trade route. The rainfall was insufficient to raise crops. 104. Babylon is an outstanding example of man’s ability to achieve great objectives, using whatever means are at his disposal. All of the resources supporting this large city were man-developed. All of its riches were man-made. 105. Babylon possess just two natural resources—a fertile soil and water in the river. With one of the greatest engineering accomplishments of this or any other day, Babylonian engineers diverted the waters from the river by means of dams and immense irritation canals. Far out across that arid valley went these canals to pour the life-giving waters over the fertile soil. This ranks among the first engineering feats known to history. Such abundant crops as were the reward of this irrigation system the world had never seen before. 106. The outstanding rulers of Babylon live in history because of their wisdom, enterprise and justice. Babylon produced no strutting monarchs who sought to conquer the known world that al nations might pay homage to their egotism. 107. As a city, Babylon exists no more. When those energizing human forces that built and maintained the city for thousands of years were withdrawn, it soon became a deserted ruin. 108. Babylon now is a heap of dirt.

Calling this a book is like collecting a few articles about what a genius Steve Jobs was and calling it a biography. This is a collection of brochures written to be distributed at banks. As bank brochures go, it's top-notch, but that doesn't make it a sensible way to spend your time and money unless you're studying the history of advertising. Predictably, the advice, repeated over and over, is to save money and don't get ripped off. This is some great wisdom? As for literature, I thought a couple of stories were entertaining. I love Shakespeare and even his mostly forgotten contemporaries, so the faux Shakespeare language is very annoying to me. If this were billed as a collection of short stories set in ancient times, and with the bank agenda toned down, I might have given it two stars out of five, probably two stars out of ten. But it's such a failure at what it claims to be that I don't hesitate to give it the lowest rating.

What can I say about this book that has not already been said? Told in parable format with the principle of repetition, this book is super helpful for building a foundational understanding of financial management. When I was in school, I read The Goal, by Eliyahu M. Goldratt. It is to operations what The Richest Man in Babylon is to financial management. Both books are easy to understand and told in a narrative which creates curiosity and tension for the readers. George S. Clason teaches seven principles of personal financial management through parables spoken by the richest men in Babylon. The parables they teach are straightforward, easy to understand and not condescending. Additionally, because they are parables, these lessons are easier to retain and practice. This book is a classic for a reason; the advice is timeless!

This book taught me so much about improving my finances! I wish I had known these things 20 years ago. This book deals with finances in metaphors that are easy to understand and follow. Loved it!

Terrible unpractical advice. The entire book can be summed up as one gross advice. Spend 70% on food clothes rent etc. spend 20% to pay off debt and save 10%. This is plebian advice for the masses.

Not only does The Richest Man in Babylon offer genuinely important financial advice, but it does so uniquely. Clason manages to keep the reader engaged through accessible language, rarely overusing technicalities. Clason's message is clear and is essential to any aspiring financier.

I was very disappointed with this one.

An eye-opening book that i didnt expect much from. Most of the books i have read on financial freedom/literacy usually entails something like “law of attraction” and not much more than also being a decent, and generous human being (which isn't bad but not very specific). This book, however, is different, a quick read but a book i will forever come back to for a refresher. It genuinely tells you what you should do and why. Give this book to your kids before rushing them out to college or to work fulltime at 18 years old. School doesn’t teach the necessary skills that i’ve learned and read in this book.

Very good read for this interested in this genre and would like further information on this topic. The author expresses themselves very well throughout this literature. I would recommend this book to those who like to have a better understanding or those who already have an appreciation of this and would like to immerse themselves more on this topic. Highly recommend this book / author and seller. Shipping and handling arrived new and without defects and well presented packaging.

I like this book a lot.. The writting is 100% not to small.. Idk how people see that it is? But its like most books far as font size. I strongly recommend this book mainly to teenagers and anyone new to saving and investing money.. Far as people who have the money game down pat I dont think this book would help a lot.. But the stories are interesting and you may enjoy them as I did Con: it put the study guide in the back which tells you not to read all the stories at one time... Should of been up front... For this I give it 4 stars

This book was totally awesome. I highly recommend it for those that want to fenture and progress out on their own. The value in this book is everything most people know but overlook it daily. It has great stories one the topics and explains thing beautifully for most ages. I even gave to my 12 year and it changed his mentally with money almost instantly. Highly recommended. I am a motivational speaker of 11 years and it is in my top 3 recommended books. However I constantly loan it out and end up buying another copy time and time again. I like to refresh up on it atleast once a year.

teacher required to buy this book for school. it’s eh to me, it’s about teaching you how to save, invest and make money. i guess it’s useful for younger kids but adults don’t really need it? not sure.

Amazing book, it can be a little hard to understand at the beginning since the English is old but you will understand it all later, read carefully.
