The One Year Chronological Bible Expressions (Softcover, Cream)

I LOVE this bible. I have been waiting so long to get a journaling bible that has a larger font (9.5) and it's so pretty! I've also been wanting a chronological bible for the first time and this bible is all those things combined. I chose the hard cover - it has beautiful leaf patterns on the cover, there are beautiful coloring sections all throughout the Bible - I may just leave as is, since I'm not really into the coloring aspect and they look so pretty as is. I am so happy with my purchase!

Such an amazing bible. I have owned numerous bibles, but I have so much trouble getting through them....especially the Old Testament. I found myself having trouble keeping up with a lengthy bible, yet, the “Bible in a Year” series (where you read one page per day for the year) just seemed much too simple. I needed more detail, more context, but also simple motivation to get through. I did a search on Amazon & came across this one. I absolutely love it. For the first time, I look forward to reading, because this bible reads like a story book. I really mean that - everything finally makes sense & I can piece together who is who & what happened, when. And although it is a “bible in a year” concept, each day consists of about 2-4 pages to read. Perfect amount! Not too overwhelming for someone to keep up & not too vague where I feel like I’m not getting enough content. The added notes at the bottom are welcome & really, you can’t go wrong with the NLT version. Pages are definitely thin, but no thinner from any other large bible I’ve owned or seen. So glad I took a chance on this one!

As an Anglican priest I've owned MANY bibles over the years. This is easily my all-time favorite for devotional reading. I love everything about it. Because it's a one year bible I read a little every day. Because it's large print it's easy to read. Because it has lined margins I make notes as I go. I love to color in it. And I love that it's chronological: note the psalm of David inserted into 1 Samuel where it occurred. Beautiful! Makes a great gift too.

Love this bible! Some coloring, but not too much. Lots of space for writing notes, or drawing. Laid out more like a book, than a typical bible. This not the bible to take to church, this is the bible to read every day with your cup of coffee and colored pencils.

I have been looking for a Chronological NLT Bible. This one is a delight. Not only is it broken up to into a daily reading format, I love the wide margins, perfect for notes and illustrations. The font is much easier to read than my ESV Single Column Journaling Bible, making it enjoyable and practical for daily study. The drawings are similar, if not the same to some found in my Inspire Bible, just fewer (100+ vs. 400+). That doesn't bother me one bit. I like the additional place for my notes and personal illustrations. And when I'm studying, and I have a moment of meditation, I can color what is already drawn in. The paper has a nice hand to it. It's not a thin onionskin, it feels more like real paper. There is a little ghosting of the print and illustration, but I haven't found that a distraction. The two book markers are helpful, it's nice that they are also two colored, which will help with finding exactly what I marked. The leaf guilding is subtle and attractive. The end papers are have a nice overall design that will be helpful in testing out new art supplies. In the front there is a general time line. I am using this book along with my homeschooled middle and high school children as we cover Ancient history lessons. The timeline is helpful to understand what was happing in the world in conjunction to Bible history. In the back there is a Daily Reading Guide, which will be helpful when I am traveling light and don't care to bring this larger bible along. There is also a scripture reference guide so that when I am looking for a specific bible reference, I can find it. I think this Bible is an excellent value. It cost me about what I would pay for an intensive bible study, but that would only last the duration of the study. This has an entire year, but could be used perpetually. The binding is nice. The pages don't quite fold flat as my ESV does, but that may have more to do with the fact that this one is hardback and that one is leather. It opens enough to easily make notes all the way into the spine. I would buy this again, and also consider it for a gift. It would also be a nice display bible.

Our bookstore sold the paperback NKJV version, but I like a hardcover on my Bible and room to write in the margins and wanted a different translation for this year's read-through. The daily readings go so fast, I find myself reading ahead because I don't want to stop. It's January 8th and I've already finished the readings through the end of January. At this rate, I should be able to read through TWICE this year. (We'll see!) An added benefit is how the pages stay open to the passage I'm reading even if I'm snuggled down under a blanket in my favorite chair sipping from a cup of coffee. I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase.

It is arranged in a dated, daily reading format so that you can get through the Books of the Bible in one year. It is in chronological order beginning with Genesis, but other books are moved around so that stories that are duplicated are bunched together/combined, so the reader does not have to read them more than once; necessary for getting through all the stories/books in one year. I really have enjoyed it. There are margins on every page that I have been using to write notes and look things up. I have learned a lot.

It's a very large Bible so you aren't likely to carry it around, but that's the only drawback. Clear fonts, plenty of room to journal and just the right amount of coloring pages. I especially like that the chronological aspect with explanatory notes.

This is a beautiful Bible in an understandable translation organized in the order in which events occurred. I love the illustrations at the beginning of each month that can be colored with colored pencils to personalize this most precious book. Also love the columns along the side of each page for notes. I am reading the chronological Bible with over 250 other people from our church and around the world. An incredible experience as we read and share our thoughts, questions and answers. It is quite large and heavy so not too good for traveling.

It is a hardback Bible and rather large and heavy. I would not recommend taking it back and forth to church. I have it on my kitchen table and I read it every morning with breakfast. My husband says it's a "girly" Bible, I say it's not too frilly and has the features I like. I will be able to use this year after year for my daily Bible reading.

I love the FORMAT of this Bible! Each day’s reading is set out for you which makes it super easy to see where you are at. It also divides the readings into sections by topic instead of just by where a chapter ends. It helps the readings flow nicely and I think provides a different perspective than reading through the Bible in the typical way. I don’t like the paper. It’s a vanilla off-white color that to me is hard on the eyes. It’s also too thin. You cannot use markers or paints on the coloring areas because it bleeds through. And if you write in the margin on the opposite side of the artwork, you can see it. 1 of the pictures I uploaded shows that. I tried to lightly shade the background and that actually made the writing on the next page stand out even worse. 😔 The artwork, while beautiful, is awfully small. Even a very sharp colored pencil (which seems to be the only medium you can use and still be able to read the next page) can barely get into how intricate the artwork is. Also, ink smears very easily on this paper. The size of the font is legible and I love the lined margins. For 20 bucks, I am happy with it. In the future, I would like a Bible like this with thicker paper. I hope you are reading this Tyndale. I’m willing to pay more to have nice thick paper. 😉

This is a really awesome Bible if you want room to take notes while you read. HOWEVER, I am SUPER disappointed in the paper quality. It is SO THIN you can see ANY highlighter or pencil writing on the back side of any page. Pretty sure a fly could tear the page it is SO delicate. I have the hardcover version which cost more, but clearly the quality in the paper wasn't honored. I do like the version and how it is written, but as always, read the KJV alongside of it for accuracy and to check for deliberate changes in the Bible that could alter the original message of the true Bible.

I "like" this bible but I was also looking for a more defined bible study with it. I'm hoping as go through each day I learn more of God's words and deeds instead of what is on the packaging itself. The way this was presented made it SEEM like there were a Bible and a study guide. It's only ONE item. The print in this bible is VEEY small so isn't good for those who need a larger print and there isn't an option to try to get this on a larger print size. I like it and will continue to learn from it while I continue to find what I am looking for. And, btw, the" spaces" where one can write notes along the margins is so tiny and narrow that it shouldn't even be mentioned as a positive reason to purchase.

I’ve been looking a long time for the features this Bible affords. First, the print has to be big enough. Second, it has to be a more modern version. Just can’t do the Old King James. Third, it has to be soft cover. Easier to manipulate. Fourth, it has a sidebar where I can write notes/comments. And then there are the indices as pictured. Also, if you want to color, you have the opportunity. I spent several months searching in book stores and various websites bf I decided on this Bible. I am very pleased with it. Quick delivery and well packed.

I felt the product overall was good, however, the binding was torn and bent up. The pages are very thin and I’m disappointed in that as there’s space for writing but the writing shows through to the page on the other side. Very fast delivery. Overall I would buy again.

Pros: A beautiful Bible! Nice size font! Read the Bible in order of events. The hardcover has a leather feel (it’s unique, though, like a soft, rubberized foam leather), good construction, two bookmark ribbons, lovely colored leaves on the edge of the pages (when closed), the outline graphics inside the cover pages and on the margins of pages are a nice touch to allow you to color. Cons: It’s heavy (great for home, though!). There is a typo within scripture (oops). Pages are thin, like most all larger bibles are (saves on extra weight, I guess).

I had never seen a chronological Bible before, but what a wonderful way to study God’s word! The translation (NLT) is easy to understand; the print is easy to read, and the illustrations are black and white and easy to color. There is lined space on the sides of most pages for note-taking. Any Bible student should have a copy of this Bible in their collection!

1- am in love with the size and look of this book 2- the way it is organized makes reading the bible more enjoyable 3- art work is fun 4- font is good enough that I almost don't need my readers to see it... younger eyes will do better 5- pages are still a bit thin and there is some bleed through of certain pens/highlighters/markers but prepping the page with jesso would help.

I love the way this Bible is organized! It's easy to read, and because it's chronological, you get to read the different accounts of the same story at the same time. An added bonus, in my opinion, are the lovely graphics of Bible verses on the sides of some of the pages. They're beautifully done and I love using colored pencils to decorate them.

Such a great thing to get! I got this for myself because I’ve never read the entire Bible in a year, and I think with this beautiful tool, this will definitely be the year that goal is completed. The pages are pretty thin, great for colored pencils if you want to color. Tons of lines on each page too for extra notes. Totally worth the money!

I purchased one for a Christmas gift. My friends love it! And so did I when I looked through it. So, I had to purchase another for myself and one for my daughter!

I love everything about this Bible!! The fact that it's chronological is a huge factor, and it's in pretty dumbed down language, which is exactly what I needed. I've always struggled with reading scripture (KJV) that I eventually just sort of gave up, but with this Bible, I read for an hour or two every day.

Ordered to read through the Bible this year and so far loving it. The NLT makes it feel more like you are reading a story book than the Bible which makes it fast to read. The daily reading takes about 10-15 minutes at most. The space on the margins is nice to jot down notes.

Christmas gift for a devout Christian friend. Great idea to divide a Bible into 365 dated portions in chronological order so that a person can EASILY read the Bible in ONE year in the order in which the events occurred. Many of the Psalms are included into the period in which they were written, especially the Psalms written by David. Great gift.

Was exactly what I was looking for. I wish the font was larger but didn’t see that option. Wanted a chronological bible that I could also have journal space in. This is not as fancy as say the Inspire. But it’s good to get your feet wet and has good room for notetaking. And some illustrations to color as well.

The text is generous in the size, crisp, and the layout is nice. I am enjoying the order, and appreciate the ease of the NLT readibility.

I have always enjoyed seeing other people's work in their journaling Bibles, but was never confident enough to make my own drawings in a Bible. With this Bible the drawings are already there, I just have to color them in. Also, they left space on most pages for journaling in my bible. I love the New Living Translation Version and it has footnotes, timeline, and daily readings also.

Even though it’s not the King James Version, I found an app that breaks the Bible down verse by verse which is super helpful!! I’ve been wanting to read the Bible all the way through but I also wanted to be able to understand what I’m reading!! This chronological bible is absolutely perfect for that!!! I also LOVE the pictures it has for you to color in it!!

Right size I can write on it however I do not use my fountain pen there is a lot of space Also to draw and decorate

Pages are VERY thin and my colored pencils are hard to use on it. I am afraid i will tear the paper. However, it is easy to read and understand. I am fond of the large print.

Very colorful book

I ordered 2 of these. One for my sister and one for myself. We both absolutely love this bible! It flows so beautifully and we are both reading the bible much more often and much longer.

I absolutely LOVE this bible. The print is the right size, enough to note lines and I look forward to my daily reading.

Exactly what I was looking for

I like things in order, so to read the Bible in order was great. It helped me understand the historical aspects of Biblical events as well as understanding scriptures better.

I love the content and the way it is set up in chronological order! It is great to read the Bible as it unfolds in history!

Beautiful bible but I had to return. I thought the version was NKJV but it’s NLT. Was hoping to exchange; unfortunately it only comes in the one version.

I'm enjoying this Bible very much. So far I've kept up with my reading--I'm even a day ahead, somehow. It's a pleasure to read the NLT and having the Bible arranged so that I don't have to flip around to find today's reading is wonderful. I've enjoyed coloring a few of the illustrations, though I haven't done that as often as I thought I would. The bible is much thicker than I expected and the pages are very thin. You can't read the text through the pages, but you can tell when an illustration is coming up, and how wide the text is on the next page. If the reading is not very exciting, I tend to be distracted by those things. The Bible is not super heavy, but the size of it did surprise me.
