Very few pictures and no maps
This guide is printed in black and white and has very few pictures and with no maps. It’s really disappointing
Save your money.
This is a waste of money. As previously noted, it's black and white, text based, without maps or helpful pictures. It's not indexed, not easy to find anything in, and leaves out all kinds of stuff. For instance there is a part of the game where you need to give bananas to a monkey in order to proceed. I needed to know how to get bananas. The guide: : "Luckily, Link had traded items in Maybe Village and Tonobo Shores before he left and had some bananas on hand." And no place does it explain the trading sequence to you. Just Google. You'll get more help. For free.
Dissapointing
I got this for my son for Christmas because he got the game as a gift. I was expecting a guide with screenshots and maps like the old Prima/Brady Games guides... This is not anywhere close to that. I've since learned that those guys went out of business and aren't making new content. This guide reads like a story, it's not easy to locate where you're at and get help on a specific puzzle or need. While it's thorough, it feels like I could have printed a free internet guide for him and had better results. It's too bad, because there is a market for guides like the old ones for small kids that aren't old enough for unsupervised internet access.
Extremely disappointed
I think what I am mostly disappointed about is that this "guide" has really bad formatting. It seem like the author opened Word and wrote this using default format. This makes it really hard to follow. I can understand black and white and no glossy pages to help keep publishing cost down, but seriously the page numbers are on the right side for both pages, the inner text of the book gets closed to cut off in the spin, the indenting is all over the place, and the lack of use of white space make this seem like a really bad first draft. I would suggest anyone looking for a guide to check out IGN's online game for this guide. Seriously, this book is an exact condensed copy of the IGN's guide.
Whammy guidebook
Expected a guide with screenshots and maps like the old Prima guides. Better to just use a free online walkthrough.
Waste of time and money.
This book is garbage. First of all it has no maps. Second, it completely skips important portions in various dungeons, ie. Level 6 Face Shrine where it has no information about how to get the Nightmare Key or how to find and defeat the boss. Do not waste your time or money.
Fast/Great Condition/but Deceptive
I was looking for a walkthrough to provide my son who was running into problems not knowing where to go. I didn't expect the difficulties I would run into finding an actual printed guide for this game. I remembered when I was around his age, I had walkthroughs made by Prima for some games. They were wonderfully detailed in color and images. This guide is definitely not like that. As you can see in my images, this is mainly detailed in paragraph form, there are barely any images, and it is not in color. This is basically a published CliffsNotes book; if you are familiar with them. This is definitely not worth the price I paid nor something you'd want to give an elementary schooler.
1 Star is too generous.
NO, NO, NO! Don't do it. Save your money! This is a story about a video game. It is not a walkthrough. This person should be ashamed!
This was basically a ripoff. A scam.
So, someone decided it be a good to type up a document in Notepad, print it out, slap a colorful Cover on in it, and sell it as a "guide". It's true: A Sucker is born every minute. This time the Sucker was me. :) Luckily I only paid 17 bucks. BUT... stay away from this guide book. It is not a "Prima Guide", and it stinks. Once the winter starts I will be using its pages, to light the kindling in my Fireplace. That is all it is good for.
I bought this as a gift. I threw it away in embarrassment.
I paid 17 dollars for this as a Christmas gift for my wife. I thought it would go along with the Link's Awakening game for the Switch that I am also giving her. I received it in the mail. It was a bit battered, but I was excited. The cover looks nice. I then opened up the book and realized that it's all black and white. Further, there are only about 25 overly-dark illustrations that are hard to see details in, none of them even half a page in size. This is a 107 page book with 25 small black-and-white illustrations in it. I feel like I purchased a textbook, and like buying a textbook, I know I just overpaid. I was so embarrassed with the quality of this product, I put it into a box filled with vegetable peels, and then threw it away before my wife got home. I will be looking for an official guide now. Let my financial pain and embarrassment be a lesson to you. This is not a guide you would buy if you flipped through it in a bookstore. Go find the official guide or just use the Internet.

Do Not Bother ... Horrible !!!!!!
Horrible .... don't care that it is black & white .... there are No Illustrations except a very very few .... when you get a walk through guide you expect to have maps, more pictures of areas & other pictures of dungeons, bosses, etc. ..... what a colossal waste of money !!!!!!!! Not a very usable walk through/guide .... please don't waste your money !!!!!
Don’t buy, find free on internet.
Walk through would be much more helpful if it had photos. I can fine better walkthroughs on the internet for free, but I bought this one thinking it would be like the ones I Greg up with. Instead it’s really hard to follow and not really written with the whole game in mind.
I would look elsewhere for a guide
I would have given 5 stars if this guide didn’t have a huge chunk missing right in the middle of a dungeon. It’s written well enough to make it through but the guide will make a reference to pictures not even shown. And like I said, one walkthrough dungeon just ends right in the middle. The authors need a new Technical Editor/Word processor. I’m shocked this was missed during editing.
Not good at all.
This is a poorly copied and pasted book from online resources I feel. So much missing, I often had to go to the internet to find the answers or understand what this author meant. Not worth any amount of money. I am really disappointed I paid for this.
Incomplete walkthrough
I actually really like the idea of a game guide that is not a 100% spoiler for the game. Instead of maps and pictures, it is a detailed walk through of the game done entirely through text. It’s as if Links Awaking story is being written in the literary formt. It is a very detailed walkthrough. My only criticism is that there are errors in the walkthrough. For example right after you collect the five golden leaves for the prince, you’re supposed to return the leaves to the prince and then dig behind the prince’s Villa to find the slime key. The guide completely skips that important step and skips right through to the next part of the game leaving you to figure it out all by yourself.
Pointless
This is a really tough guidebook. - no maps - awful descriptions of directions that are hard to follow - Completely misses parts of dungeons - skips around with no real consistent thread
Pass
The past tense narrative is a little annoying and there are no pictures even though the text refers to them. Many of the descriptions are confusing. Better off relying on internet guides from 3rd graders
pretty fun zelda classic remake
bought for girlfriend to play during furlough. Nice old school graphics, fun story but a little short for $60.
Bare bones walkthrough, use the internet instead
The text is in the past tense as if it's a novel. Parts of the walkthrough as just missing. Some is out of order. Just use the internet.
Gets most of what you are looking for
I personally Prefer the guides like all the rest this one was more like reading a book But had most information needed it put the time into reading
Not a picture walk-through guide
It is nice and small but I was expecting the common colored picture walk through guide. There are some black and white pictures. But very few. :(
Not quite what we expected
This is not what my husband expected, but will be somewhat helpful until a more expanded deluxe edition is available.
Great

Black and white, not kid friendly
I was surprised to find this was a small, black and white printed book with no (or very few) pictures. Ended up getting something else for our kid who would rather have a book full of gameplay pictures.
OK
I was hoping for a book with colored pages, but I guess it's OK
Worst guide book like the editor just drop dead in the middle of it
Worst guide I’ve never got. DO NOT GET IT. Missing and skipping info. You san get it better everywhere else.
Save ur money
Not worth one star. I’m shocked that someone gave this 4 or 5. Black and white few pictures
Terrible, black and white
Black and white, no maps, only text, feeling extremely ripped off. Please Amazon remove this item
Misleading
Not at all what I thought it was going to be. I thought we were getting a game guide. Not a story book
Don't get it
Absolute waste.
Just ok
Somewhat hard to follow the other ones where better
Guide is not 100% complete lots of missing information
This guide was a bit helpful but alot of it was way off! The Face Shrine part of the guide is only halfway completed and gets cut off. Save your money
Not your regular guide. Deceiving.
This is not the Guide you usually buy ..it’s very small. Everything in black and white. Very deceiving.. And 18.00 to top
Weird POV
I'm not a big fan of how the books is written from Link's POV, instead of written as normal guide, but it did help me figure out where to go easily.
Save your time and money.
Not what I was hoping for. Black n white, no maps, barely any pictures. Not the official version of the series of books.
Accurate info presented in a book made boring as possible.
Great if you're into Word documents. It's full of accurate info presented in outline format with bullet points and a few bland black-and-white graphics.
Don’t buy this one.
Cheaply made. No graphics. Not a good purchase. Didn’t even look at it. Online content is better.
Awesome book
Great
Poo
No pictures?! What the.... lame video game guide. Hard to follow too.
FAKE Knock off
This book is a knock off posing as an official game guide - this is NOT an official game guide but is a home made version made by an independent person. SHAME on you!!
Just like the old days of guides!
A lot of people hate this book but have you ever gotten the Zelda book by Zach Maston I think his name is? It was a prima book from the 90s for Link to The Past and had Links Awakening in it....and it’s REALLY written like this minus the “Link went right and found” kind of text.
what the ????
are their any guide books being made like the ones from the 80s and 90s?..... seriously the guide books if you wanna call them that are all junk now.....
I love it!
I think that this book has a lot of details and I love it. I play Zelda breath of the wild and I love it. so yeah you should totally buy this book it is awesome!
Worthless... DO NOT BUY!!!
Worthless garbage. DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!
Helpful
Nice book, helped me thorough multiple stages, had to skip thorough it though, did skip a few things but overall it was an enjoyable book.
Unofficial, low quality, comical
This is an unofficial guide by an amateur who is likely not a native English speaker. There are no colored illustrations, maps or extra content. It's a linear, step by stepwalkthrough in poorly formated paragraphs. However, the (obviously translated) word choices are rather creative, and provide an accidental element of comedy to the book.
Great, but missing a couple of things
Good. The author does a nice job of walking you through most of the dungoens . He just missed the Face shrine
Nice guide
I liked it. Helps a lot.
