8yr old girl couldn’t put these book down! The book gobbler that she is, these books were such a hit with her!! She finished them in a matter of a month! Even though he would not get much time in the day to read, she would pick it up whenever possible. Now the problem is she compares every new book to this collection and wants it up to this standard!!

My daughter is 10 years old and received these array of stories and on book #2 in such a short time and the stories are so outstanding that she hasn’t had a single day one of books aren’t with her

The first book was utterly amazing, and the second book was also great, but things started to go downhill after that. Sure, there were a few interesting parts in the third, fourth, and sixth books, but I didn't like them as much as the first two. The fifth was like the first and second - it was very interesting.

I began reading these books with my daughter because the storylines sounded like a fun twist on the classic fairy tales. The first book was fantastic. We were excited to begin reading the second. We became engrossed in the characters and wanted to know what would happen next. We have continued to read all six books to find what happened to the characters, but I began to see the typical liberal ideas being pushed into these children's books. By the final book, the author had included gay and lesbian characters, along with questionable language. I realize that the author himself identifies with this group, but not all families do. I wish that children's authors would keep their personal gender, political, and any other ideology out of children's books. Childhood is short enough and children should be spared this type of rhetoric for as long as possible. We should give them a chance to form some of their own opinions on life before we start trying to push our agendas on them. By the end, I was highly disappointed in the series. What could have been a set of books that I would have gladly bought for all of my nieces and friends' children, I will now throw away.

My 11 year old got this set for his birthday and ready the entire series in two weeks- he could not put the books down. Other books he has loved: spy school series, HP, His Dark Materials, Gregor the Overlander, and Hunger Games.

My son enjoyed reading these so much. Every day he would recap all he read to me. A great spin on the classic tales.

Got the series as my g-baby & I have reading time via FaceTime each night. We take turns being either the Narrator or characters. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Priceless

Read to 5 and 8 year old girl! Had great difficulty telling them it could not be read at one sitting. Each book was read over two days! Had to rephrase at times and insert different vocabulary! Intriguing reading!

I love The Land of Stories books that show us that fairytales are real and we can live in their world. The people there are different than us and they can turn out to be the real villains but at times they can do the right thing and help us.

I normally have to beg, plead, and bribe one of my daughters to read. This series has changed that. There are times we have to force her to put down her book! Definitely a favorite in this house.

My two oldest kids love this series and have read all of the books countless times this summer. Great for a wide range of ages. I haven’t read them yet but my 15 year old says they would be entertaining for adults as well so I would say ages 8+. It’s nice to hear kids who are far apart in age and don’t have many shared interests anymore coming together and laughing about their favorite parts of the books.

I could not wait to get to the next book. I read them all through our public library, but was wanting to get our 13 year old granddaughter hooked on them. After some resistance, she and her mom are now reading them together before bedtime. I think Chris is a terrific author. Loved him in Glee and am also loving this new and very creative side of him

We have been reading these books to our 8-year old twins and I'm not sure who enjoys them more. The kids love the new stories and adventures with their familiar characters (princesses, pirates, Jack & the beanstalk) and my husband and I have really enjoyed the extra layer of humor that goes over their heads (Mother Goose carries around a large bottle of her favorite "juice" and the more inebriated she becomes the more she speaks in rhymes.). If you're looking for something before/after Harry Potter check these out. We enjoyed them so much we purchased a set for each of our kids' classrooms.

Seriously, these books are amazing and will rock your world. I'm almost 30 and work at a dental lab where I listen to podcasts, music and often books on audible. When I happened upon this series it was a godsend and I couldn't listen to them quick enough. If you allow them to these books can reignite the creative inside you who used to love getting lost in a story. Colfer does amazing work and you truly find yourself latching onto these characters. The audible versions were so thoroughly enjoyable I decided to buy this gift set so my son and I could enjoy them together. Just do it. It's totally worth it and these are the types of stories you want in your collection.

I'm 38 and bought these on a whim. Theyre amazing. Absolutely amazing. The characters we all know are brilliantly intertwined. Clean language, full of wit, charm, and magic. I can't wait for my 9 year old daughter to read them!

Wonderful series. Bought it for my son since he wanted to move on to a book series. He loves it. Very entertaining and allows for full immersion into the story. Finding out Chris colfer was the author lit up my son's eyes. He's a huge fan.

I had a hard time finding a book series that my 11 yrs old daughter would like. This was it! I use to have a hard time getting her to read a book. To see her reading all on her own is so awesome. She says she can't put the book down.

This set of books takes me back to my youth when I used to read Nancy Drew and the Hardy boys. The interweaving of the stories from our youth are both amazing and intriguing. My grandson loves these books.

This honestly is a very good series. Children in third grade are generally the ones who start asking to read this book. But all the way up to junior high enjoy reading these books also. I don't have any older students so I'm not sure if high school kids read them also. These are also higher AR points. You have to actually pay attention when you read these books.

I absolutely love this series. It's brilliantly written. My 8 year old grandson turned me on to the first book in the series and I ended up reading the entire series. It gave me a whole new perspective on the stories and fairytales I grew up with. Chris Colfer is a wonderful writer. I plan to read all his books. It was a great read.

My 8yo (high level reader, not for your average 8yo) devoured these books. She giggled her way through the entire series in about a week, and keeps telling me I need to read them for myself.

My 8 year old daughter loves this series. She is always looking for a new series and this was a perfect addition to our library. The series comes in a nice box for display and reasonably priced in comparison to buying the books individually as after reading the first one you will want to be able to start the next right away.

11 year old daughter is OBSESSED with reading this series. She doesn’t want to put the books down to go to sleep. She says she enjoys the author’s use of classic characters and places. Perfect with kids that are a little advanced in reading level but are finding it difficult to find reading material appropriate for their age that enjoy fantasy.

I bought this for my 6th grade son who doesn’t particularly like to read. He’s reading without being told to read because the storyline is so engaging.

My 8 year old son was introduced to the first book in this series by his teacher at school and really enjoyed it. He came home requesting me to buy the rest of the series. He is reading the second book now and still loves it. I myself started to read one of the books to see what it's about and enjoyed it so much that I am planning to read the rest.

My daughter loves this series. It's playful, fun and had a ton of positive female role models. While at times the writing is mediocre, Colfer had created a wonderful imaginary world.

the only downside to these amazing stories is that there is some objectionable words but that's nothing a pen cant fix. i enjoyed these books so greatly that it took me less than a moth to read them. now the rest of my 6 siblings enjoy them to as my mother reads them to us . (with a pen)

My 11yo daughter was given this set for Christmas 2019 and loves the books. Unfortunately, book 2 in this set had two copies of chapter 7 and was missing chapters 9 and 10. The books were supposed to be new and appeared that way upon opening, but I didn't realize I needed to check for all of the chapters to be printed in each book of the series. Very disappointing. Had to buy yet another copy of the book for my daughter to finish the story and am very disappointed in the publishing company.

This review is not for the actual storyline, which my daughter has enjoyed tremendously, but for the quality of your set. The second book (book 2), came with faulty print that is missing 20 or so pages! My daughter ended up getting this book from her school library to read the missing pages. We would like to have a new copy of this book to have a proper set.
