I bought this version after already owning the first version in preparation for a trip to Walt Disney World. I enjoyed the first edition of the book immensely and would recommend it and this one whole-heartedly. Only giving the book four stars instead of five because I don't think the updates were drastic enough that I needed to buy the second edition after already owning the first edition. So, would 100% recommend buying this book if you're a WDW fan or have an upcoming trip, but would NOT recommend buying this book if you already have the first edition.

I bought this book in hopes of learning something new,and I'm so glad I did. I'm a Disney fanatic through and through. I love WDW and go as often as I can. I pride myself on knowing and researching hidden gems, items and things at the World. This book? Far outshines my knowledge. We have 20 more things to see/find in our next trip.

I like the idea of this book, but I found it a bit boring and didn't care for it much. I liked some of the stories and history of Disney, but I think if there was a smaller book focusing more on a fewer things it would be better for someone doing a shorter trip. I purchased this before my trip to Disney, but having limited time at Disney and the hustle and bustle, didn't get time to focus much on it. I think this book would be better for someone that has a membership or such and can go frequently to have time to waste and indulge in this book more

I was so excited to get this book and get some insight into the magic of Disney World before our trip. It was just a boring read, honestly. Like, just a list in paragraph form, of where to find "not so obvious" things at the parks. I only read the first few pages and I was like, "Nope. I will not read this. Life's too short." I did read about Walt Disney in Glenn Beck's "Dreamers and Deceivers," which was interesting. And also read the Who Was? Walt Disney book to my 6 year old son. I thought those were both better than anything in this book.

I loved that this book is organized by section of Disney World to make it easier to locate facts related to the part of the park that you are in. I also really enjoyed that it had facts about how and why things were done in certain ways to just show all the thought and care that goes behind everything Disney does. This book definitely enhanced my trip to Disney.

So here is an example of one of the secrets.....as you walk into frontier land, look down on the right side of the second pole and see the name of the man who created the music! Really, like that would mean anything to anyone! I absolutely do not recommend this book for any reason!

Packaging good, quick arrival, book looked fine from the front (and was), however back cover and pages adjacent to the back cover had been folded over leaving a permanent bending and creasing running across the back of the book. May be able to fix the deformity of the back cover and pages by stacking weights on the book and letting it set for a time. However crease on back cover is permanent.

This was a fun book. Use as a companion guide on a mobile device while waiting in line at the parks.

This book was very helpful in planning our trip to Disney World and while we were at Disney World. I paid it forward and handed it to another family that just arrived as we were leaving. I hope they had as much fun as we did.

While the book has lots of great information, you’d have to carry it to the parks to really get the benefit of it.

While I know a lot of hidden WDW facts, my kids don't. I purchased this on a whim for my 11 year old. He loves it. He has always loved looking for Hidden Mickeys each time we travel to WDW

I read this book on the flights to Orlando and in the hotel room and it gave me such great insight on the Walt Disney parks that I thought I already knew so well! Great buy and I would recommend to someone both first time visitors and veterans alike!

This is a great Disney book as it gives all kinds of ideas, suggestions, things to look for, timing, etc. Read it before going to Disney but take it with you to look up stuff

I love this book! I had the first edition and this one was just as good! There is enough new information and stories that it makes it worth purchasing. I took it with me into the Disney parks and it was fun to read and see everything in real life!

Definitely get this for the Disney Know-It-All in your life. My mother in law is a travel agent and has gone to Disney ~30-40 times for vacations, conferences, work, etc. There were details in here that she had never even heard of!

Being a huge Disney fan I was excited to read but disappointed as to knowing a lot of the hidden magic already. I feel the book also missed out on some things, was disappointed with quality because of the price of book.

This book is great and it was fun to search for the hidden items at Disney and learn about the significance to the ride/park/designer. I would definitely recommend this to someone who has been to the park a few times as some of the items were harder to find. It also made my experience more exciting as I felt I was appreciating the details of the park more instead of just rushing off to a ride.

It was easy to get the addition on my Kindle. However the contents had too much information about people that worked at Disney, and some of there points were not interested to me. This was the 2nd edition, and I would not attempt to try the first addition. Too boring.

Great book

This guide is a well researched walk through of each of the 4 theme parks at Walt Disney World. After an introduction the author dives into the parks. Each park is introduced with a park map and summary of attractions. Then each attraction is highlighted with its history and secrets/hidden gems, such as references to creators, historic events, or characters, or places to stand to see or hear subtle theming elements. After "walking" through the park following the natural progression as if you were actually walking, the parks history is outlined in a narrative timeline. The timeline shares when attractions were added, updated, and/or closed, as well as tracking events and changes general to the park. The parks are tackled in age order: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. Although it is impossible for such a guide to remain completely current even a year out because of the ever changing nature of the venue, enough of that part remains relevant not to take away from the quality of the book. Even more useful though is the amount of history that is preserved here, minute details that could easily be lost. I found this a fascinating look at Walt Disney World past and present.

Not being a Disney-phile, I have much to learn about the world of the mouse, I have so far only visited Epcot. We travel full time in an RV so are always looking for interesting, different and unique places and experiences... outside of the regular tourist attractions. I was gifted this book and immediately intrigued by the idea of a “behind the scenes expert” perspective, insights and tips. I was not disappointed! The author’s fascination and passion for sharing the lesser known secrets and “golden nuggets” to be found at the world of Disney is palpable... and I found it an easy read. It really opened my eyes up to a whole new way to see and visit Disney - outside of the characters and rides - that I had never considered before. The kinds of things to look for and almost invisible little details that make Disney so magical (without us even realizing why) is fascinating to me... now I can’t wait to get back to Florida to explore the parks with a curious mind and a new set of eyes! Great writing, well organized, thoughtful and packed with loads of useful tips and info.

I just finished reading this book for the 3rd time! We go to WDW every-other year and since 2012 I've read this book before each trip. Thoroughly enjoyed it each time and reading it really helps build the anticipation for an upcoming trip! Because of the amount of info (the "secrets") in this book it's impossible to seek out all of them in one trip. This will be my 11th visit to WDW and this time I am actually taking the book to the parks with me! Even for a WDW vet, the info in this book makes the parks "pop". If you think you've seen it all or know it all about WDW, read this book.... You'll be surprised (and delighted) at what you DON'T know!

My favorite WDW book! Every time we go, I find myself looking for the gems this author writes about, and finding them makes for an even more fun experience. It's not just about hidden Mickeys - it's about the clever attention to detail all around the parks that makes WDW so incredible. I'm re-reading it now in preparation for our summer trip and can't wait to see it all in person again!

I was wanting more information about Disney and this book did provide interesting facts. The chapters seemed to be good but seemed to keep the same theme. I didn't need to know the people involved because I won't remember who they are.

Having grown up less than an hour from Disney World I knew most of the things in this guide. Disney is my favorite place on earth and Mrs. Veness did a nice job with her guide.

The book is a little dated. It reads more like a vacation guide. I don't like that very much. Bye.

Enjoyed this book. We go to Disney on a regular basis and reading this book will now make our next trip even more exciting because we will be on the lookout for all the hidden magic. The only downside is that Disney is constantly changing and some of these tips may not be relevant. I may review again after our next trip.

It's an interesting read if you want to know more about the Imagineers and where they are recognized through signs and signatures around the park but there aren't a lot of secrets are better revealed in other WDW books.

Very detailed. A good guide to find interesting details you might miss, and the back story of many sights.

While I did enjoy some of the tidbits in the book, I was slightly annoyed that Norway was completely skipped over in the World Showcase section. I thought maybe I missed it somehow, but no. It starts with Mexico, China, Outpost etc. If you are going to highlight World Showcase, please include all of the countries. Maybe I got a corrupt copy?

Loaded with interesting facts, but too many to remember when you visit the parks. Gives an in-depth look at the intense attention to detail the Disney imagineers use in everything they design.

I read this book just a few weeks before we left for our annual Disney trip and I could stop myself from looking at Disney in a whole new light.

Good read although I knew most of that stuff alread, I'm kind of a disney world aficianado.

If you have taken the 5 hour underground tour at Disney, you will already know 25% of the information in the book. At least 25% of the book repeats the same information over and over again, just in different sections of the book. Editing should of caught this unless they were trying to just fill extra pages. The rest of the book has some cute stories and interesting facts.

My daughter has inherited my love of all things Disney World. I knew she would just love this book, that is full of unknown secrets about the park. She did. I’m hoping to get her to lend it to me, although I’ll more than likely have to buy my own copy.

Good book for time wasting whilst in the queues at the Disney Parks. I didn't have time to read the whole book before we went & only retained a small amount of information. You need to read it before, highlight the bits you're interested in & take the book with you. Anything less & you won't get the full benefit.

Great read on the plane whether it’s your 1st or 91st trip to WDW! Hopefully will do another addition because missing Pandora, Galaxies Edge and other new bits I wanted to know more about. But great for things you’d never normally spot or take notice of!
