The Darkest King: William's Story (Lords of the Underworld Book 15)

I've read this author's entire collection thus far. However, writing fluctuates and some books are inevitably better than others, etc. So, here's the tea of The Darkest King. This book has been highly anticipated since William and his curse were introduced in book two, The Darkest Kiss. That's the span of 19 books (if you include the Angels of the Dark, which I do because the characters so closely crossover) and quite a few years. Personally, I've found that the more something is hyped, the harder it is to live up to that expectation, ergo, as you can imagine, some people are a little dismayed? Disappointed? Fortunately, for me, such was not the case. I thought is was a great book and it certainly exceeds the majority of books by other authors in the genre. That's why she's one of my favorites, no? Character wise, since this was marketed as a Lords of the Underworld novel, we didn't get too much interaction with them, as it was more focused on the Kings of Hell, which is the upcoming spin-off series and I guess I can kind of see where that's important and I'm certainly not complaining. LOL. I love Rathbone and can't wait to learn more about some of the other kings. But, I did miss my lords and ladies. The characters who did make an appearance were: Keeley, Anya, Gillian, Pandora, Lucien (mentioned), Fox (mentioned), Baden (mentioned), Bjorn, Axel, etc. So you see, it was a bit sparse of my favorite characters. At the end though, they come together for the big battle, though no one really get's highlighted, which was a bit of a bummer. Axel and his relationship with William--that whole mystery was resolved, mostly. Yay! And as for the main couple, Sunny and William...Sunny was great. I loved her. Crazy. Colorful. A unicorn bent on destruction. Need I say more? Plus, I enjoyed getting peek inside Williams head and seeing his insecurities and the things that make him who he is. My only problem with them, is that the majority of their interactions was either when they were trying to kill each other or sleep with one another. It was a little one-note, you know? Still good, but it could of been better. I feel like by focusing so heavily on their physical relationship, we didn't get to see those things that we did with the other couples, the bonds formed and strengthened outside the bedroom. Don't get me wrong, I loved this book. But...it was not my favorite of the series; not even my second, third, or fourth favorite, you feel me? Yet, this is a pivotal book in the series, an end of an era sort of thing--the big bad gets defeated, that kind of affair, you ken? My biggest point of contention would probably be the ending. It was too quick. Too easily resolved. Too lackluster. Not enough bang to satisfy me completely. Story and plot wise, all the things that needed to happen, happened. I just wish they would have happened slower. So we had time to savor. However, since the author said this was not the last we were seeing of these characters, I won't hold it against her. LOL. Now to the questions: Was this book worth reading? Absolutely. Should I buy it? Def. Unless, you're a borrowing kind of person. Whatever floats. Would I read it again? I certainly will. This author is one of the few authors where I can actually reread periodically without getting bored because I always find some new little treat that I missed before. On a scale of one to ten, how would you rate this in comparison to the other books in the series? Hmm...I think most of the series is a ten out of ten so this one would probably be an eight. <3 Are you looking going to read more of this author? Snort. You're kidding, right? Abso-freaking-lutely. Hopefully, that answered all your question/concerns. Really, this is a great book. Does it have its flaws? Yes; however, that doesn't negate all the good about it. I really enjoyed it. And hopefully, you will too.

So I'm agnostic about the whole William and Gillian thing, so I didn't care about him having a new love interest with Sunny, the unicorn shifter. I felt like I was able to read this book on its own merits without having that sort of baggage. And that leaves me with a 4 star rating. I didn't love it but it was still a good book. There are other books in the series I absolutely love (Strider! Torin!), but this isn't one of them. To me, reading this was a necessary evil to wrap up William's character arch but I was never emotionally invested in him beforehand. I'm much more excited for Hades to have a book. I hope she runs him through a mean gauntlet. All things being equal, 2 things bothered me in this book. One, we didn't get the secondary character/plot chapters like we have in nearly every other book. I'm sure some people hate them and didn't miss it but for me that's what gets me excited for the next book. Two, for how much I paid for this ebook I dang well expected to see the same quality of editing and proofing as a paperback. Sorely lacking! The first typo I can understand; it happens. But then there was another. And then another. And another. Missing words garbled some sentences but the final sour icing on the cake was a sentence that basically said "he carved her" rather then "he CRAVED her". Yep, and I paid $11.99 for that little gem of a sentence. Oh, and the Demon of Lust reference above? At first I was uber bothered by William's over the top in lust for Sunny; it just seemed like too much. But then I thought about it and it makes sense for William's character. He has always been a creature of lust and carnal passion since the first time he was introduced. So while it was a little weird being in his head and hearing his thoughts about Sunny and smex over and over again, really, it fit with what we had been led to expect from him as a character. So 4-ish stars. Check this one off your list, move on and look forward to the next one!

We’ve all been waiting for William’s story for years and all I can say is that, it was worth it. I loved learning all about William, his past, his secrets, his feelings! Yes! William the Ever Randy has lots of them. Sunny is a new character and she is amazing! She’s exactly what William needed, she’s not afraid of him, she doesn’t fall at his feet and she challenges him in the best way. Showalter delivers with The Darkest King, she took risks and they paid off. This book also introduces a few new characters and paves the way for future stories which I’m sooo excited about! Hades and Axel both play a big part and I loved loved loved reading more about them. King is also full of action, plot twists and, dear lord is it steamy! Anyway, William and Sunny work big time, they made me fall in love with the LOTU world even more and I can’t wait to read the next one!

I didn't even want to put this down for a second and almost piddled my drawers a few times from holding it in for so long. I laughed so hard at some of Sunny's antics that I had to cross my legs and squeeze and hope I made it to the loo in time. I loved both of these characters and their story. I'm going to be sad when this series is over which I believe this was the final book with the exception of Viola's story. I can't be too sad though because if the spinoff series of the Dark Angels and the Rise of the Warlords. I'm excited to see what's next.

This was my first Gena Showalter series and after book one I’ve been hooked on every single one of her books. This one is no different! I have waited an extremely long time for Willy’s book to come out (since book 2 of the series) and Gena Showalter did not disappoint! For the longest time I thought that Gillian and William would end up together but a few books back that dream came to a screeching halt. I was devastated. Turns out I should have trusted Gena to do what was right by the characters. Willy and Sundae fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. They flow together like a well choreographed dance. Perfect. This is a must read book! Sunny has a dual nature, which always keeps William the Ever Randy on his toes as he so well needs and deserves after his many conquests. She is feisty but sweet. Hard but soft. The girl is a walking contradiction. Their relationship beat the odds and I am forever grateful for it!

Who doesn’t love William of the dark? Well Sunny at first! Gena nailed it right on with these two characters. Sunny is the perfect heroine to William because she can’t kick ass!! We finally got to know his story. When he was first introduced into the LOTU I believe in book 2 with Anya & Lucien, I thought to myself, “I am going to love this man. He is just yummy”. In each of the next 13 books, his character just becomes move and more lovable. Not only can he be someone scary if you get on his bad side, he also has a heart of gold for those he loves. You begin to wonder, what character would be him match? Gillian is out since she mates with Puck, so it definitely has to be someone that we would absolutely love and would be a great match to William. Gena did just this with Sunny. Who will be in our next LOTU book? I can’t wait to find out!!

I'm late coming to this party and willing to go on. I have always loved this series and usually keep up to date with new stories. The characters are engaging & the plotline is convoluted . Thank "God " for HEA endings, just what I need now. This series , the Breeds by Lora Leigh & the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward are 3 of my long time favorites for Supernatural reading. Not to mention, Dianna Love, Jennifer Ashley, Sherrilyn Kenyon & a host of others. I think that many will agree with me that as long as these gifted Authors keep writing, we will continue to be fans.

Fans of the LOU series have been patiently waiting for William our ever Randy Lord to get his book!! The Darkest King is different from others in the series because Williams biggest threat has always been a curse. A curse cast on him by a witch because he didn't want her. The curse is that if William ever fell in love he would die so for centuries he has never let himself even entertain the thought I told he met Sunny Lane. Sunny Lane is a unicorn shifter and also the world's best code breaker. Unicorns are very rare, wiped out centuries ago by Lucifer they now live a life of solitary and on the run from poachers. Meeting William, she would finally have her revenge for her people. Things don't go her way when William kidnapps her for her code breaking skills.

I like to refer to myself as an avid reader. I mean, I read all the time, everywhere, every day, a book a week. You know? It's something I adore, get lost in, and often a distraction I cannot afford —very nice while it's happening, but often lands me in trouble when I get too submerged into the fantasy world. To me, The Darkest King was a magnet, a pull stronger than gravity —minutes into housework, two minutes after checking Facebook posts 😉, thirty seconds while my coffee is brewing—as soon as you walk away from it you're going to be sucked right back in. This book enforces my love for reading. Gena Showalter has the power to keep you wanting more. This book is funny, exciting, thrilling and will leave you feeling optimistically, breathlessly, and tenaciously alive.

Gena really portrays Williams character well in this book going deeper and sexier into the yummy scenes then any other LUTO book so far!!! It’s also so awesome to see William become undone and fall in love so deeply with his unicorn shifter Sunny Lane. They are literally perfect together! Reading the series leading up to this it’s hard to imagine William ever finding a mate that matched him, challenges him, and softens him...Gena NAILED this book!!!

I think this book did not live up to the standard I have for Gena Showalter. I have always loved her Lords of the Underworld series but this one was just eh. I didn't feel what I normally do for the main characters and I think the biggest issue was because it was to easy. I mean William already knew she was his mate. There was no trying for the love and connection. And the idiotic bull of him telling himself he will decide to "fall" for her later was just stupid. I think as hyped as all the fans were for William's book this was just not worthy of him.

Gena you never disappoint! I have waited for Williams book! I so live thus world! Glad to see that All the lords come to not only protect but to assimilate into the PACK that though have created with the binding of William and Sunny! Love love your characters and the way you write! I have gone back and read from the beginning of it all and caught up with the happenings of all my favorite characters! You are one heck of a phenomenal writer! I am waiting for Axels book! Go Lords of the Underworld!

Gena is an amazing writer this book has become my favorite of this series sunny and William are a perfect match for each other no other could do him justice can't wait for more books

I have been following this series for years. I've been anticipating William's book as he was one of my favorites besides Torin and Z. Gena did not disappoint one bit. The amount of emotion this character had was refreshingly surprising and I loved every bit of it. I even felt empathetic towards some of the stuff he was going through. I'm, also, really glad that Gilly wasn't his true love. Dodged a bullet cause Sunny is way better. Hope you enjoy reading it yourself!

Wow! Another much awaited book in the series! I love reading about the fiery story between William and Sunny! 2 very strong lovable characters! Gena Showalter never disappoints. There is a reason she is my favorite author. Her modern sass along with her writing intensity has never failed to entertain me. Her ability to keep you glued to the pages yet make each story different is real talent. Can't wait for her next book.

William finally gets the perfect woman for him. He is focused on translating his book so his curse is nullified. He finds a decoder who ends up being his life mate. Together they learn to trust each other and fall in love. Sunny is the perfect match for William and continually shocks him which he is not used to. I also liked the side story about William and Axel and how they build their relationship. Can’t wait for the next installment! Love this series!

I've been eagerly anticipating William's book since I first encountered him earlier in the series. Needless to say the expectations were high. When I found out Sunny was a unicorn I was worried. I wasn't sure I was going to like the pairing. As I started the book though I was immediately taken with her. Gena did a good job with the duality of her personality and ability to change her looks. It fits well that she were to have these traits. She constantly surprises and entices the man that's had so many before her. As far as Williams book goes the twist was a pleasant ending to a long standing mystery. You being to suspect the truth as the book goes on but the reveal at the end was still satisfying. There was alot of plot advancment outside the romance including the development in William and Axels "brothership", the reveal of memories long buried, a sort of finality with the war that was very well done. All in all a good read.

I've waited a long time for the story of William the Ever Randy and the story did not disappoint. Only Gena thinks of having a romance with the son of Hades and a Unicorn but it WORKS!!! Gena has such a wicked sense of humor and this story had so many laugh out loud moments that it was a little embarrassing ... But totally worth it. Like all her books you can start at the beginning of the series or read it as a standalone. 5 star all the way!!!

Like many, I've been waiting for William's story. I'm so glad he got someone so special and unique. This couldn't have surprised me more. You made hell seem less like a bad place... Not that I'd ever want to go there. This almost seems like an ending to the series. I'm sure that you know a lot of us want to see Pandora's mate in the future. This is just a suggestion. Axel. Might we share his story as well?

I've followed the Lords of the Underworld from the beginning and this book is by far the weakest rendition of a story that so many have been waiting for. There is nearly no substance to the characters, the dialog verges on ridiculous, and the story is mind-numbing. William deserved an epic and he got a novella with no more substance than an empty shell wrapped in swagger.

Oh William. You have met your match in Sunny. Sunny and Gillian for the next President and Vice President. They can decide whose who. William you deserve everything in this story. Love love love love. Did I mention love. Will I re-read? Absolutely. Do I recommend? Are you dumb? Yes a thousand times Yes.

It's becoming increasingly hard to come up with new ways to say how great this series is. But, I will try! This installment of the Lord's of the Underworld series put a lot of pieces together from the 14 books prior. Having had a character that has been a part of every book since the second finally get his own story arc, it was magical. The way the story was put together answered a lot of questions and opened doors for this series to continue in one way or another for years to come. If you haven't already stated this series, do yourself a favor and do just that. It may be considered a Paranormal Romance but the story line a all Gena and all Magic!

This was a fantastic story! Although I did find it a bit lackluster in some areas, I absolutely LOVED Sunny's personality! She was the complete opposite of what I imagined for William and I loved his suprised reactions to her! I am also really appreciative of the fact that in serious issues William actually used his head and decided to think things through without making completely irrational decisions like the main male characters do in most stories. It was a nice change and I think that may have been what upset most people who didn't find out enjoyable or rather boring, but I loved it! Gena Showalter will forever be in my top 2 favorite authors of all times! (I say 2 because I can't choose favorites between her and KC, they are both my faves! )

I absolutely love this series!!!! This book was so funny and hot! William has always been one of my favorite characters; cocky, gorgeous and beautifully broken. I was so glad that his life mate matched him in every perspective. They balanced each other out and learnt how to love while seeing the beauty in everything.

It took me awhile to finish this, not because of the book but because of family things. This book made me laugh when I was sad, made me cry for the characters and made me melt several times. William's story has been pkQying out little by little throughout other story's, but finally we have him all to ourselves. And it was so worth the wait. His witty mouth and sense of humor kept me in stitches. Watching him fight his love for Sunny, she really gave him a run for his money, was beautiful. Hands down, a must read!!!

OMG I loved this story line between William and Sunny and how they got together him a Lord and she a Unicorn and his life mate and they got together and they killed or staked Lucifer his ex brother and dad and his brother Axel because Sunny helped him to defeat him Thanks for an amazing book and Gena is an amazing author

The long awaited and severely anticipated book of the LOTU! There’s no way to truly savor this feeling. I was on constant alert while reading William and Sunny. I couldn’t get enough and the next page still left me thirsty and hungry for another page. Another chapter.... another minute, another hour. This book did not let me down in anyway! Gena went above and beyond bringing William and sunny to life in a way we’ve never seen William. And Sunny truly is the Unicorn we all needed and didn't Know we wanted! If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

They never disappoint. Neither does Ms. Showwalter. It was a real pleasure to find out how William's story truly played out. He deserved a unique and happy ever ..... after watching all his friends, even Gilly, find their someone special.

I love this series! I have always enjoyed William and his sass throughout the books. Which is why, I am giving it 5 stars. However, I felt like there was something missing. His character didn’t seem so William. It did, but it didn’t, if that makes sense. Sunny, I throughly enjoyed. I loved her character and spunk. I felt, though, like everything was so neatly tied up and explained about William and slightly rushed through??? Through it all, I love this book. I loved this author and I read it in a couple of days between being a mommy to two under 2. I am quite please that William found love and I am quite happy it was not with Gilly, it kinda of me feel uncomfortable with the age gap. Sunny, was a treat to read and I love her views and style.

I wanted to hate this as much as I wanted to hate Gillian and Puck’s story but I just couldn’t. Way to go Gena!!!! Your stories just keep getting better and better. The sass and snark from Sunny was such a perfect match for William’s ego! I can’t wait to see what comes next (idk if I want Hades or Viola more).

I always enjoy these Underworld books. They are original, entertaining, and action packed, while at the same time, humorous. I really like this author’s books. She makes each story an adventure for the reader. Great book!

I was looking forward to William ever since we saw Gilly get taken by Puck. I was actually happy that William found someone different, and I'm very happy with how Gena handled this book. William and Sunny together are perfect, and I love how his relationship with Axel developed.

How long have I awaited William's story? It feels like eons. It was worth the wait! He is as randy, sweet and funny as I expected and Sunny is his perfect, vicious rainbow-corn. ❤ Now I need Axel, Viola, Xerxes, Hades and Pandora's stories && I'll be complete. Keep em coming Mrs. Gena!

Another FANTASTIC novel by Gena Showalter! William is back and ready to kick some aster! This 15th installment into the Lords of the Underworld series is just as fantastic and exciting as the first. William has always been one of my favorite characters in this series and Sunny is a beautiful addition to this world. Unicorns exist everyone, don't forget that!

I was so excited to finally read William's story...and it did not disappoint! This book took me on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Everything from happy to sad, from furious to ecstatic. It will put tears in your eyes on one page and a smile on your face the next. William's story unfolded beautifully and was so well written that you get completely caught up in the world Gena has created. I've never been so happy for a character to finally get their happy ending! If you've never read a book by this author, then you are missing out on something great.

I chose 5 stars because the book. Kept me on edge. Everything about it was fascinating. The characters, the scences, And the story line were awesome. Who would have thought to put Sunny in a barn? Only Gena Showalter could writr this great book. Bravo!

At long last, William's story finally came! William has been part of the LOTU since the first time he appeared in Lucien and Anya's book. His character is funny, irreverent but you just know that there's bone-deep goodness and honor there. I love his story and Sunny is the very best partner for him. Their story has a lot of light and dark moments all throughout so you'll be kept on your toes in each page. This series is hands down magnificent! Thank you Ms. Gena Showalter for an amazing epic!

William's book was everything and more! Gena just keeps getting better. I am so happy with who William ended up with. Sunny is perfect! I mean a knitting Unicorn. As a knitter myself this makes me very happy, plus... Unicorn!! Lol. Recommend this book and series highly!!

I've waited years for this book and I was not disappointed. Gena is such an amazing and talented author. She gave William the story he deserved and a love he deserved. Sunny is bad ass an equal to the bad assness that is William. I'm only sad that I finished it so soon.

The amazing plot lines I have been a fan in paper back book since the Alien Hunter Series and now I have many Of Gena books . I love Williams story and followed his character throughout the Lords Series of Books and I'm glad he's gotten his happy ending. It did help to hear a more insight into William's back story.

Once again I could not put this book down .Genoa has written another book in the series that could stand alone from the rest in the series. You cheer for William and Sunny to find a way to be together and he can finally be whole. An absolute must read.

I enjoyed this book quite a bit! I've seen some reviews rate it poorly, but for me, it was quite enjoyable. I really loved Sunny! Definitely was less violent this book compared to the others in the series, but that did not detract from its charm.

I absolutely loved Sunny, her humor and quirky personality kept me very entertained. I am glad that William found his match. She really gave him a run for his money, as they say. I loved seeing William's softer side and really enjoyed them together.

What can I say that hasn't steady bee said about this amazing book?! To not give any spoilers away, I am now hoping for full length books for Hades, Rathbone, and most importantly, Axel! Sunny utterly charmed me and I loved her depth. I am so so happy for William, who was never actually my book boyfriend , though I will claim a book two night stand . 😜

Oh my gosh. Through out the whole book I felt like I was in a a rollercoaster. The ups and downs were to die for and the quotes made me laugh. I have to say William and Sunday's story us my favorite one. And I'm so glad that he got to keep a relationship with Hades. I would have cried and probably quite reading if that wasn't a possibly. And to finally kick so Lucifer butt was there are no words. All hail the 👑

I wish there were 10 stars because this book was fantastic ! William needed a happy ending and he got one ! Loved it !

Love the fantasy. Love the Lords and everyone in between! Finally William gets his moment in the Sun.. and it’s a big moment, if you know what I mean.

I just adored this super sweet (with all the magic action) story of William and his fabulous Sunny, the mystical Unicorn. Yes, there were tons of unicorn rainbow themes that Ms. Showalter weaved into this fantastic story. Lots of laughs for sure! William has been a fan-favorite for several years. Always has the best lines, the best friends – (Anya is a hoot) and the best magic! But having been cursed at a young age to be killed by his future life-mate, he has avoided love at all costs. We all thought that Gillian (The Darkest Warrior -- #14) was destined to by William’s mate – she ended up with Puck instead and that worked out perfectly. I never could quite picture a William & Gillian match anyway. He’s needed someone “unique” to finally break his pesky Love-Curse issue. Enter the darling, quirky Sunny – a unicorn-shifter that rocks his world. Literally. I especially love all the magical unicorny-type personality traits that she embraces. Draws strength from rainbows, eats leaves and petals, loves everyone and all animals. She is also a smarty, code-breaker, geek girl – just who William needs. The banter between these two main characters had me laughing out loud and their chemistry was so steamy! Our William is an “Alpha with a Heart” and proclaims his love on the regular to his adopted Dad (Hades) and his kids (Horsemen of the Apocalypse) – SWOON! Lots of family/bromance drama for sure and tidbits from our author on upcoming plotlines – Hello Axel , then maybe Hades! And we finally find out what William actually is – or did we? It’s got to be in his eyes – his real father’s eyes? Another reason to get Axel’s book ASAP! If you are a Gena Showalter, Lords of the Underworld aficionado – The Darkest King will not disappoint. If this is your first LOTU book, you will love the love story as it can absolutely be read as a standalone. Enjoy!

Just finished William's book and I must say, it was absolutely fantastic! Well worth the wait and I cannot wait to see what Gena Showalter Grace's us with next!!

All of the Lords are my favorite, William is at the top of my list. So happy he's stable now with Sunny! Can't wait till the next book!

I will be honest. I checked out of the Lords series a book or two ago. I was finding it increasingly difficult to be interested in the stories. I also have a hard time when any series drags on, tossing in new side characters with their own books and delaying books that fans have been waiting on for the original characters. I understand that for authors it can be difficult for a variety of reasons - including that they also want the perfect stories for the original “cast.” I also feel like I should include that I did NOT read Gillian’s story. I get that it’s an author’s prerogative to do what they will with their storylines and characters. However, as a fan I felt that I had been lead on and betrayed, and I wasn’t cool with it. I also felt that - in order to try to get buy in for Gillian’s story - the author probably had to make William unlikeable in her story. Just a theory since I haven’t read it. I didn’t want my perception of him to be tainted in order to try to force a story that went against the significant years of build up. So, I skipped it. Because he’s one of my favorite characters. So, I was able to read this book by focusing more on it as a separate story almost. I enjoyed it! I liked Sunny’s changing nature. I liked William throughout. I thought it was great. To some extent it brought back a lot of what I loved in the earlier books. The ending did feel a bit rushed, but aside from that, I enjoyed it! I didn’t struggle to finish it. I was engaged the whole time. I may actually consider reading future Lords books - depending on who they’re about. I’m not really committed to many of the later-added characters. But truly, prior to this book I would’ve said I was done with the Lords series completely. This may actually fall into the “read it again” category for me!

Sunny is such a great fit for William, that I find it mind blowing how easily and immediately I fell in love with her. I wish this book was sooooo much longer, this couple is like catnip to me! I can’t get enough of them! I loved everything about this book and the fact that there are so many avenues for so many books, I’m excited for the future reads! I Would Love to Demand (Lol) for Hades, Green’s, Reds, Blacks, Axels, and All The Hell Kings Books!!! 🥰

Williams book! Finally! I feel like I have waited forever for it, wondering who could possibly be his perfect match, his other half. Sunny did not disappoint! A contradiction of emotion, a funny, colorful woman who is powerful beyond imagining. Their journey is fraught with uncertainty, their attraction destined and scorching. The past a constant companion to them both, secrets and hidden truths will be revealed and their bond flourishes despite their perils. Loved every minute of it and what comes next is foremost on my mind!I can't wait for what Gena Showalter has in store for us next!

5/5 Gena Showalter never disappoints in her character development. She created a strong female role. A maiden that doesn't need a hero and A hero that the underwold needs. Put the two together and you get rainbows and sunshine and unicorns 🦄! Literally. Did I mention William? That long awaited story. The happy ending her readers have been yearning for. The only downside is that the book wasn't as long as I'd like it to be. I really wanted to see a longer William.

Alright, so this book is amazing!!! I will not put any spoilers in this review. I have read all the Lord's of the underworld series and I loved every one of them, I have been waiting since the darkest kiss to find out more about the amazing William and we finally get his story! Also we get to find out about how he and Axel are interconnected. The Lord's finally get thier battle with Lucifer, o and the best part there is a unicorn shifter!!! Sunny is her name and she brings our man William to his knees and this book is one that will make you smile, laugh, want to throw it but I for one could not put it down! It is a must read for any Gena Showalter fans!

Loved loved loved!! It did not disappoint. She answers all of our burning questions surrounding William, Sunny is the perfect match and she leaves enough loose ends to keep you guessing as who will be next in the series. The world building is always fantastic and the side characters who make an appearance just make you want more! I love Gena and everything she writes. She is so so talented. If you haven’t read the lords of the underworld, do yourself a favor and do so!!

I thought this book was fantastic! I absolutely LOVED Sunny! She and William are truly a magnificent match. I, along with a lot of other readers, was upset about Gilly ending up with Puck. I'm still not a fan of that book, BUT....this book was sweet redemption for William. I loved that we got to see his softer side through his love for Hades and his longing to know his brother Axel better. This book was a fantastic, action packed, romantic and hilarious read! I look forward to Axel and Hades getting their own books!!!!
