While there were some editing errors and misspellings that would put me off most books, the shear volume of accurate, timely and actionable information contained in this book made those issues insignificant. I've ordered several books on product development and product sourcing and in total they have been pretty much a waste, until this book. It's nice when you find a book that was written by someone with true expertise in their field. I sell on Amazon and have made multiple trips to foreign countries to locate products and manufacturers. I've been successful, but this book is going to elevate my game to new levels. It answered questions I didn't even know I should be asking. I have not taken the author's course and don't plan to, so I'm not trying to score brownie points with my praise; I am just seriously impressed by this book. If you're sourcing for e-commerce, or any retail platform really, buy this book now.

I literally have nothing else to say after that but the author, needs to know how much he has inspired me to change my views on retail. This book alone shows you all of the steps you need to come up with a product idea, and bring it to market while removing as much risk as possible, and getting your product into the shelves of all types of sizes of retailers. I started at the beginning, but suddenly needed advice on packaging - this section alone has prevented me from making a huge error (which even my designer missed). Steven writes in a practical, encouraging and humble tone - with knowledge and experience, he guides you through the exciting maze of entrepreneurial business. This insight is a reassurance - highly recommended.

I loved how thorough this book was. It covered everything I can think of that one would need to know when developing a product. An excellent read.

If you're like me, as an entrepreneur, you sometimes feel like you're going at it alone. There aren't many people that understand the problems we face. There are even fewer people that will go out of their way to help you learn to navigate the environment we operate in. So, what do we typically do? We learn our lessons the hard way - wasting precious time and capital (not to mention mental health) coming up with solutions to problems that have already been solved. This book breaks that trend and does something different. It explains nearly all of the common issues we face in a simple how-to approach. Saying I wish I read it ten years ago doesn't do it justice. Reading it sooner would have saved years in my business life, and likely prevented some of the problems I faced that resulted in laying people off, closing warehouses, etc. That's not an overstatement. For me, this book acts as the operations section of my business plan. It's great as a reference for expansion and for training new employees. Thank you, Steven, for writing down what most consultants haven't even learned!

The information is very helpful, at least from the point of view of someone that knows nothing about bringing a product to market, like myself. But there's so many typos and grammar errors that following the meaning of what I just read it's tedious and even difficult at times. In guessing this is a self published book, but for the next revision hire someone that will go through it with a fine tooth comb. It will be worth it.

I really like this book because it gets right to business. There is no fluff, just what you need to know. Most authors feel the need to tell a story or three to drive home points but those are always cut out in any sort of summary. This book is already condensed and it's great! So much knowledge I haven't come across elsewhere... chock full of ACTIONABLE and USEFUL tips and advice. Highly recommend for any newcomer to product development.

This book is an in depth look into the complete process of product design, development, manufacturing and sales. It is well organised and full of practical advice which enables anyone to quickly get a feel of what are the things to expect and watch out for when trying to launch their new products. A lot of literature is focused on the marketing and selling part of the process but this book is focused on the design, development, manufacturing and sourcing which is equally important as getting the product right makes the rest of the marketing and sales process easier. I recently designed a new product, and couldn't have read this book at a better time. I was looking for help in assisting me with customer validation, negotiating tactics, info for IP protection within China and the right manufacturing and sales channels I trusted this book recommendation by a colleague who also read this authors other workbook that she found very helpful with her trip to Canton fair. This book gives step-by-step instructions on how to get the ball rolling in the right direction for beginner and experienced product developers. This is a valuable asset to have on any entrepreneurs book shelf. I know that I'll be referring to it often - highly recommended.

If you're in the market for a book with as many spelling mistakes as there are pages, you're in luck. On the topic of the number of pages, there is an excessive amount. If it weren't for the extra-large font that seems to be taken from a children's book, this book could be distilled down into 50 pages at most. There is no depth provided on the majority of topics raised and this all appears to act as one big advertisement for their Facebook group for which the URL can be found 2000 times throughout the text. The title of the book is extremely misleading and I have returned the item - I would recommend steering clear.

Steven Selikoff is credible source in the manufacturing and product development space with years of his own tangible successes to back up his expertise, his book could not have come at a better time for me as I am developing new custom product, great information related to manufacturing abroad and he's covered a lot of fine nuances most other "experts" will gloss over. So far my most worthwhile read this year.

Very informative and practical book! Unfortunately my paperback copy was riddled with typos, sentences doubling up and odd word substitutions no doubt caused by an automated spell-checker. Steven, if you read these reviews: please get a proper copy editor for the next version! Absolutely recommend reading this book written by someone who practices what they preach; it's just that amount of typos do somewhat compromise a bit of the author's authority, particularly regarding quality control. ;-)

It really opens you up to multiple options - online, brick-and-mortar, B2C, B2B, etc. It covers all technical aspects of finding a supplier, manufacturing, packaging, transportation, and much more!
