The Bicycle Coloring Book follows the fantastic journey of a bicycle exploring an unknown world without its rider. Bursting with intricate illustrations that evoke both Japanese anime and Western street art, the beautiful scenes cry out to be colored in amazing detail.

As you color don't forget to look out for the bicycle's cute companion (who appears in every scene) and the illustration details that form a cleverly designed flip book.

A stunning gift book that will appeal to lovers of cycling and urban art, as well as to committed coloring-in fans.

65 Imaginative Bicycle and Cat Design pages plus two foldout pages – printed on one side of the page

This is a wonderful and imaginative coloring book about the adventures of a bicycle and a cat. I've never seen anything quite like this before and was really impressed by the scope and detail of the book. It is like a visual story book with lots of interesting locations. There is a twist at the end that I wasn't expecting, so be sure to look for that. The illustrations are quite fun to color but are detailed and have small and intricate spots to color. In addition to the regular coloring pages there is a two page, two sided fold-out in the middle of the book. On the inside is the colored version of the design. On the outside is the line drawing of the same design. Other than wishing that the reverse had been done (so my colored version would be on the solid page, I think it is a fold addition to the book. Because of the switch in positions, you can never see your colored designs in whole as the colored one is presented. There is also a really fun flip-page motion story of the cat. It is in the lower left hand corner of the backside of each page. You see the motion by flipping through the pages rapidly. I had some fun coloring my first project in this book. I decided to try the Sargent's 50 pencil set that I leave out for guests to use when they come to visit. I had never colored a full design with these pencils before and I was surprised at how well they worked (though the color went on extremely light and took several layers to show up the way I wanted them to.) I will certainly be using a wide range of medium with this book (as it is printed on one side of the page.) I will also switch colors on the cat and bicycle to suit my imagination on that day. This is what I found in this book and by coloring and testing with various medium: 65 single page designs plus two foldout pages for a total of 69 pages of coloring designs A Flip-page motion book of the cat (reverse side of the page in the corner Designs printed on one side of the page Paper is white, smooth, heavyweight, and non-perforated Sewn Binding Except for the fold-out pages, designs do not merge into the binding area and have a framing line around the outside of the design edge. Book is quite thick and the spin must be creased in order to get it to lay somewhat flat for coloring Alcohol-based markers bleed through this paper in a spotty fashion. I suggest a blotter page under your working page to keep ink from spotting through to the next design. Water-based markers, India ink pens, and gel pens do not bleed through the paper. Gel pens require extra drying time. Colored pencils had mixed results. Wax-based, oil-based, soft lead and hard lead all put down good color and layered well though Prismacolor Premier pencils needed several layers to get good solid coverage. None of the pencils I tested did a great job of blending though my best results were with Caran D'Ache Luminance wax-based pencils. It was still great but it was better. The blending issue was not of as much importance to me in this book as the details are so small, I will not be doing blending too often.

Ten stars plus!!

I love this book. I would give it 10 stars if I could. First of all, it is a THICK coloring book. Illustrations are printed on one side. On the back side of each page, if you go to the back of the book and flip the pages, you will see a cat chasing a ball......clever. The illustrations are superb and so imaginative. The bicycle journey is with a cat and a bike. I have just been sitting here enjoying the illustrations page by page. As the back cover states: " Flying whales, ships sailing through corn fields, cows casually floating by, and a curious cat in every scene. Fantastical landscapes roamed by rider-less bicycles of every kind. Incredibly detailed full-page illustration. Flip through the left-hang pages to animate the cat's own adventure......".

Bike Adventure coloring book

Absolutely stunning artwork by artist Shan Jiang. This bike adventure coloring book includes extreme attention to details and really tells a story through each image and each page. Quality and print of book is exceptional as well. This Coloring book has been very helpful even more during the pandemic. I look forward to finding more of these coloring books. A must have for those who enjoy unwinding, being taken on a journey while coloring.

This is the most unique coloring book that I own. It's such a cool concept. The book offers everything that most colorists like: nice paper, one sided drawings so you don't have to worry about ruining the backside of each page, a neat story, and a nice thick book! It's telling a little adventure of a cat and a bicycle, so you'll find those two items in each picture. The pictures can be super detailed, so fineliners are useful.

Wonderful Book, Glad to Have it!

Great quality and paper for coloring pencils. Love the drawings. Very unique. Great for those who like shading too.

Amazing coloring book.

Much detail, much imagination. But it shouldn't be called a bicycling coloring book because it is really all about the cat!

BRING OUT YOUR CREATIVITY.

So unique, buy this or be sorry you didn't.

Interesting book. Nothing quite like it!

This is a coloring book based upon bicycle and unicycle renderings in apocalyptic urban settings. The artist is young and Japanese. This is his first book. Images to color are one sided and printed on thick bright white paper. Very smooth and slightly difficult for colored pencils and blending but only slightly. The cover is interesting and high quality and the size is nice, similar to the Art Institute of Chicago fine arts book. There is a cat motion flip through on the back of each page which is a cute feature. Sunflowers, tigers and other additions make the journey to the end of the world more enticing! I bought this book in 2015 and I still like to pull it out of my collection and play with it. A must have for any colorist who collects!

I love this book

I love this book. Even if you don't color, it's fun to read. Each page is detailed and surrealistic. I've colored two pages so far using colored pencils. I find the experience meditative and rewarding.
