The Art of the Dragon Prince

The quality of the book itself is amazing and it's even better with all the lore from the series and the concepts. Love it!

The title of this book says it all: this coffee table book is filled with art from the fabulous animated series, The Dragon Prince. The book is comprised of character drawings, sketches, painted scenes of important locales from the movies, details within character and setting designs, and background information on the art. For example, the reader can see some of the earlier variants of characters, read about what inspired art decisions for animals or landmarks, and discover more information about the different human and Xadian kingdoms. I'm a big fan of this series (and animated series in general), and have appreciated the art since the first episode. When I heard at a Comic Con panel that this book was being published, I put my preorder in with no hesitation. This is a gorgeous collection of art. I highly recommend it for fans of The Dragon Prince.

Daughter loves this book. It's high quality hardcover book. Attractively done. Many illustrations of the different outfits, lots of information about all the characters. My daughter likes to draw and seeing clearly how it's done in this book will help her.

I both received this as a Christmas gift and purchased it to give to a friend as a gift. It's an absolutely lovely book. The artwork is gorgeous and vibrant and there is a ton of it, about 200 pages worth, so you get your money's worth. Not a ton of text, as others have said, but the volume of and beauty of the artwork makes it worthwhile. And some of the concept art, not used in the show so I'd never seen it before, was beautiful and I really enjoyed it. If anyone is a fan of the show, they will love this book.

Beautiful book to have. Especially if you are a fan of the show. My only complaint is that as someone who ordered this on ebook, it is annoying that I can’t zoom. Sure, I can double tap and get a focus shot (a simple box around what you double tapped), but I can’t zoom into the pictures to get a better/closer look. And I feel like the sideways view could be much better as well. Those are my only two problems. Outside of that, the illustrations of the concept art is amazing!

I won't lie, this is quite the astounding book! Balanced between concepts of characters, creatures, and settings and encapsulation of landscapes from the first three Books (seasons) as well as some storyboards of scenes and little notes of what inspired designs and even some changes. I can't wait to see more concepts from future seasons since we have been given the saga! It's very much worth it to give this book a read and re-read!

Beautiful drawings and an in-depth look into the making of the TV Series. Even if you haven't seen the series, the paintings and character designs are worth to look at for inspiration or just to enjoy. Book arrived in perfect condition. This is one Art Book that will be a fine addition to my collection. 9/10

This book is incredible!!! It shows you concept art and drawings of the characters, places and moments in The Dragon Prince. The character illustrations and info really help to understand them better, and also how they changed from the drawing board to the show. The storyboards explain how some moments of the show played out. I think this book is a must-have for any fan of The Dragon Prince. Also- First review.

I am a huge fan of the show and was really excited to see this book release, especially after loving the end credits sketches that pop up after each episode. I have to say I was a bit disappointed though, as the book was clearly created without much input from the creative team at all. Most pages are just descriptions of a character and their role in the show, a reference image, and then one or two variations on their design. There is next to no production concept design information, and the text is often frustratingly meaningless. Most often it's just bland commentary or information that is very obvious if you've already seen the show. The book is still very well-published and has some lovely art in it, but if you're looking for something like the Avatar art books that delve more into the thought process and production of the show, there's none of that here.

The artwork in this is so great to dive into. I've missed Avatar the Last Air Bender's world building so much and you get that same feeling with the Dragon Prince. Lovely book. Binding is fine and hardcover is very sturdy.

I got the kindle version of this book and the download didn't take too long. The art in this book is great and all the extra concept art and tidbits of information make this a really fun and entertaining read for fans of the show.

I like collecting books like this as an artist, because it inspires me, and I'm very partial to fantasy things. I also really, really loved the show.

I received my order today, discovered much to my annoyance that I paid for a product that was suppose to be brand new in damaged condition. I am not well pleased by this.

A great artbook! Has tons of art on every page. Great descriptions and notes into the process. The only thing I would like is a bit more about the thought behind the pieces. It has a bunch, but there were a few times when it was the picture with nothing and i was wondering what was going on. Oh this is on whoever did the layout for the book, the great 2 page spead artwork of the Sun elves throne would be really nice if the throne wasn't completely swallowed by the seam binding.

It details the conception and process of creating this series. The character designs. The creatures. I loved seeing the intent of diversity especially in background characters. Amaya's sign language and its evolution was also very interesting to learn about. There's a lot of beautiful art in this book. This book is an inspiration for anyone interested in fantasy worlds. I give this book a 4/5.

What I like about the what book is that it shows the irresistible concept arts and designs for the Dragon Prince, I am looking forward to more concept arts to seasons 4,5,6 and 7. What I dislike is the ending concepts where is sucking Zym’s magical and life essence in needs to be replaced with a recused Zym reuniting with his mother. I will recommend this and future expansion editions to this book.

Gorgeous book for any dragon/fantasy lover or fan of the show! Intensely detailed, just absolutely filled to the brim with interesting facts on the show's production and beautiful art! Defiantly a cherished book in my collection now.

This book, & the art inside is breathtaking! I now have so much more respect for the creators of the show-as I was able to see the character, animal, & world designs up close. I feel like the book has a good amount of behind the scenes information, while also giving basic descriptions of things we already knew. Goes through series 1-3, & exceeded my expectations. Great for any fan!

Ich liebe Art Bücher und kaufe mir gerne Bücher von meinen Lieblingsserien, Künstler oder Spielen. Ich habe dieses Artbuch allerdings diesmal Geschenkt bekommen. Und mich sehr gefreut. Das Art Buch ist schön verarbeitet und kam ohne Schäden bei mir an. Es ist ein Hartcover Buch die ich lieber habe obwohl sie schwerer sind. Aber Softcover Bücher halten selbst wenn man gut mit ihnen umgeht nicht so gut. Ich nehme meine Bücher gerne mal zur Hand um durch sie durch zu Blättern und sie stehen nicht nur als Zierde im Regal. Das Buch ist gut gebunden Seiten fliegen nicht heraus und es liegt recht flach auf dem Tisch. Es hat auch ein sehr gutes Verhältnis zwischen Artwork und Text. Charakter Sheets, Conceptart von Gebäuden und der Umgebung und vieles mehr ist in diesem Buch enthalten. Ich finde es ist ein sehr gut gemachtes Buch in einer sehr guten Qualität. Ich kann nicht meckern.

Si te gustó el diseño de personajes y el mundo en general, este libro de arte cumple. Muestra bocetos de los personajes, de los lugares y da ciertas explicaciones del cómo se llegó a ese diseño. Cuenta con algunas imágenes espectaculares, en especial de los dragones. Si eres fan de la serie o del diseño de personajes es una buena adición.

Si eres un fan de la serie, es un articulo que deberías tener. Contenido aún no mostrado en la serie y/o complementos artísticos que dispararán tu imaginación de la serie. La verdad es más de lo que esperaba, incluso para alguien que aún no ve la serie, le encantaría.

Llegó un día antes de la fecha estimada en buen estado, es un libro de excelente calidad con contenido interesante sobre TDP bastante recomendable para un fan que quiera coleccionar artículos de la serie

Hello, as of right now, the kindle ebook is only showing one page at a time and doesn't offer any other options, which is disappointing. It makes viewing the art that spans two pages a bit jarring and interrupts the experience.

What else is there to say? It's a fantastic art book, more than I would have expected. Extremely worth it.

Es que me encanta este artbook. Qué maravilla. Qué bien dibuja la gente, de verdad.

I ordered this and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Creating a Champion and they were packaged so badly 😂 just a little bit of air bags on the top and thats all, the box was starting to get crushed too lol LUCKILY, both book somehow survived the journey and came in mint condition and they are SO good. They show not only the final designs used in the game/show, but they also show early concepts and rough designs as well. It's a must have for any artist wanting to work in concept design and a must have for any fan 😊
