Sound principles and also a powerful mindset

I've learned a lot from Chad over the past few years and this book is a very concise and powerful accumulation of what he's taught me. Though Chad's teaching, I changed how I viewed money. I started putting more and more of it away. I turned "investing" into an automated system, which increased my confidence and my spending habits. I now have a clear and powerful plan moving forward. Money becomes stress-free when you get in control of it, and when you have a plan and vision. This is a very good book and if you want financial success and peace of mind, you'll love it.

Sound financial advice for anyone, regardless of stage of life

I do not know the author personally. I came across a social media post about his book, bought it (Kindle), and read the whole thing today. I was not paid or compensated in any way for this review. This book is a great short read! Most financial freedom books usually talk about the hype: bitcoin (BTC), fix and flip real estate, indexed universal life policies, passive income strategies, etc. This is NOT that book. This book focuses on sound, strategic financial principles that would benefit anyone, no matter how rich or poor you are. Finance is my side hobby and I spend quite a bit of time reading about the pros and cons of various financial products. Despite my education over the past few years, there were some chapters in this book with specific ideas on how I could improve my financial security that I had not previously considered. Definitely worth the money. My favorite chapter was the chapter on focusing on short term and long term goals rather than arbitrary dollar amounts for retirement. Taking a comprehensive goal-based approach makes a lot of sense, but most people don't take that approach.

Must read! Life changing lessons and entertaining!

This was my honest to goodness view while reading this book. I read this book because I know Chad and already practice the principles he teaches in the book. Because of these principles I have retired early. In my early 40s. I am not saying this to brag. I’m saying this to add my voice to many others who owe Chad a large debt of gratitude for his generous and invaluable guidance. Read it. But also practice what it teaches. You will thank me later.

A Refreshing Take on an Important Topic

It's nice to see the steady wisdom of Chad Willardson translate from his larger-than-life online personality and financial know-how into a succinct book of financial wisdom. My only regret is I wish I had known and exercised this wisdom earlier in my life to create positive change and as Chad taught to have a "stress-free relationship with money". A great book, I highly recommend this short read to potentially make a huge impact on your financial future.

Excellent advice for people who think they can effectively manage their own money

The target audience for this book is people who have experienced poor results either managing their own money, or using a non-fiduciary to manage it for them. I have a degree in Economics, a MBA and a law degree, have worked in the trusts and estates area of the law, and have followed the markets daily for 25 years. I have never used a financial advisor or asset manager, and never thought I needed one. I was wrong. Reading Chad‘s book helped me to realize how many common financial mistakes I have made over the years, and how much better off I would have been had I received and heeded this advice 25 years ago. Just as the lawyer who represents himself has a fool for a client, the reality is that you really can’t be objective about your own financial situation. It is too easy to let major decisions be influenced by fear and greed, and to not stick to a plan, if you even have a plan, much less a good plan.

Solid approach to aligning your financial plan with your priorities & proven wisdom

Chad does a great job of explaining why it's so important to get clear about out personal priorities and goals (family, lifestyle, etc.) and use those to formulate our financial plans. As someone who's been in the insurance & financial services industry for decades, it's always encouraging to see a professional that not only talks about putting people before profits... but also demonstrates how to do it.

Great Money Management Tips

This book gives clear, easy to understand money management principles. Easy to read, and also very easy to relate to my personal financial situation. I would recommend this book to anybody who feels they could be getting more out of their money with wise, time tested money management and investment techniques. This book does not try to sell any trendy or high risk strategies. Rather you will be impressed with how common sense so much of it all is. Give it a read!

Powerful Wisdom

Stress Free Money is an "EXCELLENT" book. More importantly, it's an easy read, and Chad provides advantageous insight into an area that most of need help with: managing our finances. This is a must read. I highly recommend!

Must read when talking finances and your future!

This is a must read for anyone seriously looking at their future. Mr. Willardson asks some questions I’d not thought about regarding my future and what type of retirement I want to have. The question is a real life changer and the beginning of a new relationship with money. I’d always had a dollar amount in my head I wanted to have for retirement but this book explains why it’s more than a dollar amount. Great read and already passed it on to my adult son. Highly recommend! (Easy read too!)

Financial stress removed!

This book by Mr willardson was a quick easy read that helps sum up the thoughts that I had been having for a very long time about financial stress and how I could best manage it. It was great to see the easy concepts to follow. I especially liked the idea of setting goals and making sure that I stuck to those goals regardless of what was going on in the markets. I'm going to recommend this book to all of my friends, and I'm lucky to have a lot of very very successful friends.

A strong case for intentional investing and using a financial advisor

This book has clear objectives outlining the importance of investing your money with written goals for retirement. As someone who has read little within the genre of financial advice, I appreciated the key takeaways listed at the end of each chapter. I also related to analogies that helped me better understand the concepts i.e. likening financial advisors as neutral parties with professional advice to medical doctors; and the day to day following of the stock market as "financial fast food" addicting but not healthy. As a beginner to understanding these concepts, I wish some terms like "Fiduciary" was clearly defined. However, I did gather its meaning through contextual means. Overall a good read and ultimately inspires me to rethink about my financial goals and act with intentional planning.

Great BOOK!

Stress Free Money gives valuable insights into financial obstacles that may currently affect your life. The book offers great analogies and narratives regarding financial obstacles. Chad offers great lessons and valuable knowledge that can have a tremendous impact on one's financial life. The book also expresses the importance of working with qualified financial professionals that provide expertise and value to one's financial life. From working with Chad personally and with his company Pacific Capital, a Certified Financial Fiduciary, they have their clients best interest at heart and go above and beyond for their clients.

Solid Foundation of Personal Finance

Great foundational principles for personal finance. Whether you're already on your way to financial freedom, or just embarking on the journey, the concepts in this book hit all of the main points. Great read and highly recommended!

Required Reading

There are plenty of personal finance books out there which promise to help us achieve financial freedom, but precious few which have even tried to explain what financial freedom really is. As this gem of a book makes clear, true financial freedom is not simply a matter of having a lot of money; rather, it is the peace of mind that comes from knowing what you want out of life and having a viable plan to achieve it. This book also makes clear (with one cringeworthy example after another) how difficult it is even for intelligent and successful people to set and achieve their financial goals on their own - and how essential it is to obtain professional advice. But who can you trust? Mr. Willardson has made a thoughtful and candid appraisal of the current state of the financial planning profession, and this book is required reading for anyone who is seeking a competent advisor.

Very Useful Financial Planning Advice for All Ages!

As a college student, I'm just getting started with managing finances, and even though there's not much for me to start with or allocate, reading this book was very insightful on how I should approach managing my personal finances. "Stress-Free Money" is just very easy to understand and thus more accessible to even those with less exposure to more complex financial vocabulary. I highly recommend this book to anyone (of any age) who wants to achieve financial freedom one day. The value that you will get from reading this book is far greater than the cost of purchasing this book. Chad is a very experienced investment professional who has managed hundreds of high-net-worth households and individuals through his wealth management firm, Pacific Capital, and is in turn well qualified to give financial advice. Great book, Chad!

Simple, Easy, Stress Free

Chad does an amazing job at simplifying the complex and often secretive world of financial planning. Hidden fees, conflicts of interest, and general misinformation makes it hard for investors to trust anyone with their money these days. Chad lays out the foundation needed to separate those who are trying to take advantage and those who are trying to make a difference. Chad’s advice is timeless; if you’re looking to simplify your financial life, you’d do right by reading this book.

Principles of financial freedom in a succinct package

I've been following Chad for years and LinkedIn and I really resonate with his philosophy on life, family values, and money. I love how this book succinctly lays out principles of financial success in seven easy-to-read chapters. I'm excited to use these principles to guide me in all of my financial decisions and have already identified areas where I can improve and find financial freedom.

A STRESS-FREE financial life is available for everyone.

Here are some hard to hear MIC DROPS being discussed RIGHT NOW IN THIS BOOK!!! "Most people spend more time planning their vacations than their financial investments"...Some amazing advice! "Look at where you want to go financially and find someone who actually has DONE what you want to do!" So simple yet so valuable.

Great First Start

When reading this book- I discovered that we first must start with educating ourselves on when and where you should make your first step into financial security. It’s scary when we have no idea whom we are giving our hard earned dollars to- to secure our future. This book gives you a good outline, so you too can be on a calmer road to financial saving success.

Honest advice

In an age of financial uncertainty it’s refreshing to read a book based on sound practical advice. You get the sense that the author is an honest, transparent family man who understands what investors need. We all should be reading his book and developing better financial habits.

Powerful principles and a stress free read!

Great book, helped me relieve some of the stress I’ve been feeling about money! The author speaks for incredible experience. Happy to extract decades of his knowledge into hours of my reading. A simple read and a must read!!

Impressive, solid advise

Great quick read with very pragmatic and useful advise. Reiterates what I have been thinking and the direction I am moving in. Have already started implementing .

Wonderfully Easy Finance book

This was a well written book that Chad was able to write. He took some very hard topics on financial management and laid the groundwork for anyone to be successful. It was easy to read and understand why he was giving this advice. I would encourage anyone who has questions about how to successfully plan their financial life to read this book.

Quick read with great foundational principles

Read this in a few hours this weekend and it’s fantastic! Lays out some clear, simple principles that can make a huge difference over time. This is not your get-rich-quick guru type book, but rather a voice of reason and experience in an industry filled with hype and noise. It’s causing me to re-think some of our goals and create a more comprehensive plan. I highly recommend!

Excellent read!

What a thorough book filled with real substance and useful information. Takes a totally unique approach to explaining and understanding difficult topics. Well written. Would highly recommend!

Great read with timeless facts about finances

Great read with timeless facts about finances and how to be stress free with your money. I enjoyed all the stories and examples, it made the read more interesting. I would highly recommend everyone read this book.

Great read!

Chad has done an excellent job of providing a roadmap to get moving along the path to financial freedom. His emphasis on focusing on a written plan and the difference in using fiduciaries as opposed to self-serving brokers is on point.

Great, helpful read

Only partway through but I can tell that this book is about helping the reader, not so much about helping financial advisors. Read, learn and benefit.

Highly recommended!

Concise and informative for managing your investments without the overwhelming stress that comes with most approaches!

Get your finances on the right track now!

A must read book for all ages wanting to get their finances off to the RIGHT start or headed in the RIGHT direction. Full of wisdom and real life experience! I’m buying this book as gifts for those around me!!

Super book. Immensely helpful in personal financial planning

A great read to kick my financial fast food habit

So glad I read this amazing book! I've made written financial goals and stopped focusing on the daily swings of the market. A must read!

Great points!

A lot of great points and insights! Love the texture of the book cover.

Empowering a Life Free of Stress regarding Money

Contrary to popular belief, “Financial Freedom”, in and of itself, is not a destination. Rather, it’s the gift of being able to replace “stress about money” with the opportunity to life your life to the fullest in far more important areas – faith, family, friendships, business, community, and so forth. Chad gives us a blueprint for that with his new book "Stress Free Money". Despite being trained in the finance field myself, I have, and still do, have a predisposition to worry about money. (I think many of us do.) "Stress Free Money" and its principles help us avoid the major pitfalls to finding "Financial Freedom" so we can live out those far more important aspects of our lives.

Easy to read, understand and implement in your own life

Great principals and standards to live by as it relates to money. The author speaks from a lot of experience and helps relieve some of the typical stresses and unknowns involved in how to save, invest, and use money to achieve financial freedom.

Life Changing Lessons

As Chad so eloquently writes in this book, effectively managing your personal finances can help you live a better life and do more. The topics he shares his expertise on in this book can help anyone learn the steps they need to take to plan for their financial future. I recommend this book to anyone trying to get a better grasp on their financial health and looking to live a better life.

The most important financial principles wrapped up in one book!

Loved this book! Chad was able to take 7 of the most important financial principles and break them down into an easy to understand way. Whether you have years of financial experience or you are just starting your financial journey this book is jam packed with the most important principles that you need to know to succeed with your finances. If you are unsure where or how to invest your money, if you are stressed out about money or are just looking for some solid and trustworthy financial advice, Chad covers all those topics and so much more. After reading this book I definitely have a lot better understanding of how the financial world works and how to choose a financial advisor who is looking out for me and not just looking to make a profit off me. I also gained knowledge in how to navigate a down market and how to set my financial goals with confidence.

Sound advice--from a different perspective

Not a completely unbiased review here, since the author and I are related--but there is a reason I really like this book and it's the same reason I am a long-time investor with Chad. He acts and writes in the independent voice of a fiduciary. His mantra is to teach you how to achieve success through patience, intelligent behavior and clear-headed thinking, avoiding the loud populist rants of today's mile-a-minute advisors, writers, and analysts who steer you in many directions--even when it's not in your best interest. The book gives you a different perspective on building and maintaining wealth that you won't find elsewhere. A good, easy, but substantive read.

Stay the Course!

I don’t know Chad Willardson personally, but have heard of his success over the years and now recently about his book. I appreciate how this book is broken down into seven obstacles to help educate myself (having no financial background) on having a stress free relationship with money. I learned several valuable takeaways: don’t let greed and fear get in the way of goals and recognize what you know and DON’T know.. and then reach out to a professional for guidance. Love this book and will be purchasing it for my brothers!

Great read!!!!

I never have enough time in the day to sit and read a book but this was very simple and extremely beneficial! We look forward to implementing all of the strategies included!! Great find and highly recommend!

Stress Free Money

Although I just started reading the book, Chad is spot-on in how he works with individuals and families to help people live the lives they want. Since living takes money, Chad focuses on the goals and plans of people, and then works with them to achieve those goals. So, now people have purpose and goals behind their financial plans, which engenders commitment, instead of just shooting for greater returns or short-term gains. Many people want their financial advisor to do the work for them. Chad doesn't operate that way. He will work with others to achieve long-term and lasting gains. This is a must read for anyone wanting to live the life they want and will help folks select the proper financial advisor and coach.

Extremely helpful financial advice while still easy an read

This book naturally answered my financial questions as I read the book. As soon as the script prompted a question in my mind, it was as if Chad could hear my thoughts and he would follow up with the answers I was seeking. It was simple enough for me to understand and yet packed with the financial advice I needed. I highly recommend this to everyone!

Convincing Arguments for Retaining a Fiduciary

This was a great read that changed how I look at planning for retirement. I thought I had a good plan and had everything under control. But Chad’s description of his clients and how he helped them really changed my outlook! (I received a preview copy of the book.)

Amazing book!

This book has helped me find financial freedom! Quick, easy to read and helps guide you with a great plan to pay off your debt.

Some really important advice.

The book is a must read for someone grappling with where or how to invest. The emphasis on fiduciary advice vs bank, broker, etc. is eye opening. Anyone who has watched the show American Greed should immediately appreciate some of the stories he relates in the book and how easily we all can let our emotions and/or greed can get the best of us. This book will be a Christmas gift to at least one of my children for sure.

Quick read - lots of quick/actionable techniques

This was a helpful book for someone like me who gets caught up in how I've been taught to think about money over the years. This book has helpful ways to shift thinking and put a plan into place today.

Crucial Financial Principles!!!

I have known Chad for 35+ years and he has always been a standup honest friend and human. He has achieved many successes in his life because of his discipline to what it right and this book is no exception. These principles are crucial to everyone financial freedom and I’m excited to apply the ones I have not yet in my life. Great work Chad!!

Highly recommend this book!

Amazing book! The book is also an easy read. I’d highly recommend it for anyone looking for financial success and peace of mind!

Financial planning

This book was recommended by a friend. Tips, plans and reminders for building a financial framework (with written goals and open dialog with advisors) that will support your needs currently and most importantly for retirement.

Must-Read For True Finacial Freedom

Chad is an incredible person. His life is a testament to the success that he’s had in following the same principles he outlines in his book. I know that the principles in Stress Free Money will help everyone trying to get their financial lives on track.

A MUST READ PRIOR TO CHOOSING A FINANCIAL ADVISOR

Chad's book was clearly and concisely written. His analogies were very helpful in furthering your understanding of the principles he was trying to share. "Stress Free Money" should be a must read for all investors PRIOR to choosing a financial fiduciary. Financial/business books are not typically my genre of choice but this was a good and helpful read.

Book is a great read.

I've been working since I was 14 years old, I'm now 70. I stressed about making money and having enough for my retirement, just like many do. Since working with Chad at Pacific Capitol my stress about money has gone away. I think this book highlights important things we all can do to have stress -free money. I am giving a copy to my son as it should be a must read for business owners. THANK YOU Chad for writing this book.

Worth it!

I listened to the audible version on this book and was very glad I did. Chad provided lots of helpful insights in investing and motivates you to have a solid plan in place. It’s an easy, quick read that I highly recommend.

This book made some great points and had some great advice that I will be sure to follow.

Good read!

Awesome book! Would recommend for anyone needing some financial guidance!
