This book is for nerds. No seriously that's what the duffer brothers said in the foreword and boy are they right! You will get an overload of all geek artifacts such as Dungeons and Dragons, video games, Stephen King novels, horror movies, the works. What I liked about this book is that the brothers are unabashedly nerds and are sharing their love of geekdom with their audience. It’s almost as if you are hanging out with them and you are talking about various subjects with such passion that has influenced their creativity. One of my favorite authors as of late is Larry Flores (Creepy Vibes, The Fire Diaries) who has a lot in common with the Duffer brothers as far as their love of geek culture. You can tell that they were influenced by the same things growing up in the 80s. However, Larry’s wheelhouse is dark humor. Getting back to the book, its designed with YOU in mind. The main characters all have Dungeons and Dragons type player cards that decorate their bio complete with strengths and weaknesses which is a nice touch. Also I loved how the book addressed all of the Easter eggs in the show. For example, The Duffers favorite movie is Jaws so that heavily influenced the reason why you didn't see the demagorgon until the last episode of season 1. The book gives you the most in-depth details you could ever want if you are a fan of this show. No stone is left unturned. So if you love Stranger Things than this is a no-brainer but the best part is that it really does feel like the Duffer brothers are right there with you and well...that just pays for itself

It's just so cool to see and hear all these insights from the directors, producers, etc. about what it really takes to make such a fantastic show and how much thought is put into every little detail. It makes you appreciate the show so much more and the dedication of those creating this series - that includes actors and everyone else - is evident on each page. So so cool and fun to read.

Something freaking amazing! This book is an awesome companion to anyone who is a huge Stranger Things fan! The retro look that this book has is totally tubular and I love that they even put a Melvald’s price tag on it! This is honestly the best companion to a movie/tv show I’ve ever owned. The only thing I wish is that they waited to release this until they were done with the series, because now I’ll have to buy another companion for the rest of the show!

When I first opened the package I was really upset at the torn cover and obviously "used" condition of this book. But after looking closer there is a little sticker that lets you know this is how it's supposed to look. It's actually pretty cool. The contents of the book are really good too, appearing to be written in by someone who "owned" the book previously. I actually live the next street over from the scene of the flipping van, so that's pretty cool to see pictures of my neighborhood in the book. My grandson is going to really love this book.

The presentation of this book is fantastic. It was a pleasure to peruse, exploring the many glossy photos and inserts (not to mention surprises). While this book acts as a companion to the show, I did find much of the information within its pages a bit basic. A significant number of passages (scattered throughout the text) are dedicated to summarizing episodes or scenes, which anyone reading this book would have no doubt viewed at least once. Similarly, many of the footnotes are simplistic or point out connections that are fairly obvious (Did we need a footnote to explain what a perm is?). Still, there are enough revelations here to make for an interesting read, and the presentation of the book really lifts it to new heights of enjoyment. I'd highly recommend this to any fan, as long as they note the text doesn't bother to dig very deep, but provides an entertaining presentation nonetheless.

I don’t want to say much to save from spoilers on what this book contains, but OH MAN. OHHHH MAN. I was looking for a Christmas gift for my sister and upon seeing this, I looked up a flip through of it on Youtube, just to see what kind of imagery there is, and I was SO IMPRESSED with how much background and extra content they put in this. The way they have things set is AWESOME and really immerses you. Obviously I suggest watching the show before reading this if that’s what you’re thinking, but once you watch the show, BUY THIS IMMEDIATELY IT IS SO INTERESTING, FOR REAL. My sister started opening the seal and reading through as soon as she unwrapped it on Christmas morning. It’s one of those gifts where you’re tempted to buy one for yourself. I live with her so i’ll just end up reading it when she’s finished.

My 13 year old son bought this with his allowance money and absolutely loves it. I recently watched the series with him now that he is a teenager and he is really hooked. The book needs to be turned upside down part way through for the "upside down" which he loved. There are many great photos and pop 80s culture references. In general, there is a lot of quality content about the story and characters. Anything that encourages him to read on his own is well worth it so I consider this a success!

My twelve year old daughter is obsessed with the show, and she seemingly has everything and knows everything related to Stranger Things. But this book had a ton of new information for her and she absolutely loves it. It’s full of awesome photographs and interesting tidbits.

This is a MUST buy for any Stranger Things fan. I devoured this book in a few sittings and I want to read it again and again. First off the packaging was so unique, it is laminated like an old library book, and has rips and stains that are purposely put there to make it look worn and aged and that adds to the charm! This book contains so much background info not only on the show but how the Duffer Brothers got started which is super insightful. On Stranger Things itself it tells where all their major influences came from, lots of fun background details on how they did things and some things that were planned that they changed. If you are the type of person (like me) who loves to learn how everything was done, the planning stages, production, casting, filming, effects, ect then this is definitely the book for you! It also has great pictures that I'm sure you can't find anywhere else. GET THIS BOOK!!!

I wasn't really prepared for how realistic this book would be with regard to making it look vintage. From the library stamp to the plastic cover, it screams 80s library book. As a fan of small details, I give it 5 out of 5 stars. I'll be reading it on our vacation next week. Just amazing how much effort they put into this thing.

The design of the book that correlates with the time span of the show Stranger Things is a great idea and really looks the part. I will give this to my grandson for his birthday so I cannot say how he will like it but he loved the show so I'm sure it will go over well.

OK, it arrived all beaten up, and I was upset. Then I got online and found out that being beat up is part of the design! The book is funny, interesting and a good representation of what might expect (the unexpected ) from Stranger Things. My son loved it.

If I could give this 10 stars I would! This is the best gift ever and quickly became my 12 year olds favorite present ever! She's carried it around everywhere with her so far. It is so we'll put together, and I'm contemplating buying another so I can use some of the pictures in it as well art. Its well worth twice as much as they are asking. It's a requirement if you love this series.

A great book covering season 1 and 2 of Stranger Things. Lots of good photos and fun facts. Presented in an interesting way, with lots of references to classic ‘80s memories. It almost tries TOO hard, but it is very enjoyable. A must for fans.

It LOOKS cool! It's meant to look weathered. It has lots of interesting information and explains all of the 1980's culture references that my son and I enjoyed in the show. Being an 80's child myself, I admire the care that the Duffer brothers have put in the series to portray an era that left an imprint on me. Here they discuss the parallelisms between horror films and books and the series. Great read.

I love the way this book is made. Not only does the outside have an old-school-look, but so does the the way the pages are done. It has a ton of cool pictures as well as an Upside-Down section that's upside down. It has a lot of amazing information about the characters, including their D&D cards. It's a must have for fans.

I saw this in Urban Outfitters and bought it here on Amazon for roughly half the price. If you are a fan of the show, don't hesitate. It's so cool how they styled it to look like an old library book that you might run into at a yard sale. Keeps with the flavor of the show, including having the section on the upside down world upside down in the book.

There’s an orange price sticker on the front that says “fair”, as in “fair condition” but if you look at the store name on it, it reads Melvald’s which is the store where Joyce works. I just got this book in the mail yesterday after wanting it for a while. It's almost twice the cost in stores! The aesthetic of the book is so great, it looks like an old beat up library book from the 80's. So much great insider information about behind the scenes making of Stranger Things.

This book came out prior to seasons 2 and 3, so it's not entirely up-to-date, but still a lot of fun to read and look at the pictures. Highly recommend to Stranger Things fans.
