I LOVE Matthew Reinhart pop up books. I have almost all of them, and am working on a full collection. These are my Christmas gift to the family every Christmas. Keep in mind that these books are NOT really meant for young children. They are designed for adults and older children who will appreciate the engineering and design efforts that go into creating a truly stunning pop up book. They are more akin to a work of art than a toy. The pages are very intricate, and you must be very careful when turning them or opening new spreads in order to make sure they fold back up properly. That said, this book did not disappoint! The spreads are all well designed and illustrated, and they highlight all of the most visually interesting aspects of the movies.

I ordered this as a gift and my husband LOVED it. It's so detailed and the illustrations are amazing! The pop-ups are truly ingenious and the light up saber at the end was a hit! He proudly displays this among his other Star Wars items, and we're already looking into ordering more of Reinhart's creations!

I bought this for my husband to read to our daughter at night. He loves Star Wars and she loves to watch the movies with daddy, so this was a really great gift for both of them to enjoy. They already have "A pop-up Guide to the Galaxy" so this was a great addition to the collection. The book is very detailed and the pop-ups are intricate. They don't love it quite as much as the other one, but that's mostly because they are less interested in Episodes I-III and they are more interested in Episodes IV-VI. This book seems to me more concentrated on the first three episodes.

OMG!!! This book is totally magical. I'm a huge fan of Mathew Reinhart and Rorbert Sabuda books and this one totally blew me away. Every square inch has something amazing to look at. There sooo many pop-ups, and descriptions of the Star Wars world. The paper craft and engineering... I struggle with the words to describe. So many colors...Buy this book, buy all of his books. Do it now! Also, these are not kids books, these are small pieces of art.

The pop-ups are pretty complex and visually beautiful - and fairly easily damaged or crushed. Truthfully, age 6 is a little young for this book, but I knew that going into it. But my grandson still treasures this book, drooping pop-ups and all.

I actually can't quite believe the complexity of this pop-up book. Multiple pop-ups on every page, pop-ups within in pop-ups, a lit lightsaber, and gobs of detail. My daughter spent a lot of Christmas day poring over this book and she and my son take turns showing it off to their friends. Highly recommended for any kid (or adult, for that matter) who is obsessed with all things Star Wars - or just appreciates a killer pop-up book.

I had this book signed by the author. Waited until the grandchildren visited last week to give the book much use and we already have a page that refuses to close. We were very careful each time we read it. I think the book was open a total of 5 times and now it is no longer usable because we cant get a page to close. Wish someone could help us!

This was a gift to a seven year old boy who loved every page. This will give him hundreds of hours of pleasure reading the text and examining and playing with the graphics that are part of this amazing pop-up book. He loves the detail and already knows all the characters in the story. This a great for a child of any age (up to 90 years) because of the love that is put into the making of this book.

Perfect gift for my 4 years old son who loves Star Wars, and even I like it. The pop-up is a bit complex, so it takes some time to fix if somehow the picture gets tangled. Just never leave your 4 years old alone playing this as they get too excited. Sadly the light saber doesn't light up. Not sure if it's supposed to be light up at the beginning, but it looks like it. But still, great stuff. Looking forward to other Pop Up!

amazing! These books are amazing! I do not understand how they aren't 100 dollars each The workmanship required to make them… i don't get it! How do they put them together? Anyway…. these are fabulous, amazing books. Yes you must treat them with respect and be gentle! My 8-9 year olds have done just that and these books are treasured.

I love, love, love this... and so does my 6yr old son. He is constantly looking at this book. I can't even begin to tell you how amazing the pop ups are. It is quite bulky and some of the pop ups are fragile so I don't recommend it for toddlers unless supervised. Each page has multiple popups and well... Its just so cool!

This book is the perfect companion to the "Pop Up Guide to the Galaxy." While the previous volume featured the Original Trilogy, this book focuses on the Prequel Trilogy. The pop-ups are inventive and beautifully executed. Each page has multiple fold-outs and surprises. The text is informative. I recommend this book to Star Wars fans of all ages.

I got several of these books for and a couple had pop ups that were hard to open and a few pages had torn pop ups I was able to mend them which was easier than sending back.

We bought this for our six year old and he loves it. Wouldn't put it down for hours, he had never seen a true pop up book (had a few little kid ones where you flipped up like one little thing). This book is one of his favorites now and we got it for an awesome sale price on here. Definitely recommend for active little imaginations.

I would reccomend these books to any Star Wars fan. For mature children 8 years and up. It's a must have! For the price it can't be beat. They could easily get $5o a piece for these. We haven't even read the information in the book yet, because we can't get past staring at the pop ups. Just absolutely fascinating.

I purchased this pop-up book when it went on sale for my 3 year daughter. SHe loves it, and wants me to read it to her often. The only down side is General Grievous gets stuck every so often. That is the only negative. Very cool to have if you like star wars and want your kids to enjoy it also.

You open a page and a beautiful picture unfolds! But the fun doesn't stop there! Each page has pop-ups and tabs to pull within the overall large pop-up! There is even a page that has things that light up! Awesome book! LOVE it!

The book itself was excellent but someone had already opened it (it was not new, as ordered) and some of the items did not "pop-up" correctly. Have re-ordered and hoping for a truly "new" book.

I purchased several books of this kind to store in my gift closet. All the kids I've given to (age 6-10) have been very pleased with the gift. I wouldn't recommend getting this book for toddlers as they can easily damage the pop up pages.

if you are into star wars this book is for you , also go to Utube there is a video showing you how this book works. if you do get it be very carful when you open the pages, you don't want rip any of them. the story seems like it jumps right of the pages, very detailed.

This Star Wars pop up book is the second one that has been released and it has amazing pop up pictures all throughout it. It's only real setback is that it's way too short! But that doesn't stop it from being very cool. This one is completely Star Wars episodes 1, 2, and 3, so if you're looking for the original saga, get the other pop up book.

This is a beautiful pop-up book that tells the story of the 2nd Star Wars trilogy. They are well made and are a fun way to relive the story, especially if you need a refresher.

This is a great complement to any Star Wars fanatic. Great way for kids to read along and learn about some of the characters, weapons and planets.

What a fantastic book! I cannot believe the detail on every page. Each page has several individual pop-ups, along with a large pop-up and a wealth of Star Wars information! My little grandson loves that this book includes the Clone Wars. The light-up light sabers are a very popular page!! There are a couple of sticky pop-ups that you have to open very gently, but I'm VERY impressed and pleased with this book!

I am constantly impressed and amazed at the artistry of paper engineers like Robert Sabuda and Matthew Reinhart, who consistently push the limits of this art form in even more outrageous ways. Beyond feats of engineering, however, these accomplished artists are also managing to get their works in the hands of audiences who, just a generation ago, wouldn't have been caught dead reading "pop-up books." Now, far from being limited to toddlers and adult collectors, pop-up books are bringing storytelling to life for readers of all ages. Nowhere is that more true than in STAR WARS: A GALACTIC POP-UP ADVENTURE, Matthew Reinhart's follow-up to his earlier STAR WARS: A POP-UP GUIDE TO THE GALAXY. His earlier volume was a sort of road map to the main characters, geographic locales, vehicles, and vessels composing the Star Wars saga. This new volume is more of a narrative, loosely telling the story of the movies that make up Episodes 1 through 3 of the epic. The first two-page spread is dominated by a scene from young Anakin Skywalker's podrace, while the final spread shows a somewhat older and much more jaded Anakin donning the mask of Darth Vader for the first time. I won't bother recounting the story of the book; after all, virtually the entire audience for this book will already be more than conversant in the Clone Wars, Order 66, and the rest of the plot unfolding as dramatically as Reinhart's paper sculptures. This is a good thing, too, because the nature of Reinhart's pop-up constructions means that recounting a single linear story is difficult, if not impossible. So, for the most part, Reinhart doesn't even try. Instead, he focuses on the clever creation not only of these massive page-straddling sculptures that emerge from each spread but also of the dozens of smaller but no less impressive constructions that pop out of literally every corner of the book. Both Reinhart and Sabuda have long structured their pop-up books this way --- with a central focal point and several "mini books" poised around the periphery, each of which contains mini pop-ups as well. What's different and very exciting here is the way in which those smaller books unfold. Rather than working as conventional books, opening in only a single direction, they frequently challenge the reader to discover which side is going to open, which flap will hold the next surprise. Opening not just left to right but also up, down, and even diagonally, these small "books" are wonders of design in their own right. Perhaps my description of the complexity of every single part of this volume gives you the idea that this book is not for the small or especially clumsy; it's true that very young children might grow frustrated with the unpredictable design, a design that also might make this pop-up even more fragile than most. STAR WARS: A GALACTIC POP-UP ADVENTURE is definitely meant for upper-elementary aged kids, teens, and grown-ups, all those Star Wars fans looking for the greatest new retelling of their favorite story. What a wonder of a book. I was fortunate to discover Matthew Reinhart through his work with Robert Sabuda on the Prehistorica series. I literally could not believe what I was seeing....it's not just a pop-up book, it is an engineering marvel. What an artist! My son is the proud owner of this Star Wars book, (when I saw it in a Pottery Barn Kids store of all places I was convinced it was too good to be true) and says he would give it 100 stars. That's about as good as it gets, I'd say. Every page is a marvel and while children should be mindful of ripping the pop-ups, they are sturdier than MANY other so-called pop-up books. My six year old is very careful with it. It is his pride and joy and he is wishing for the other Reinhart Star Wars book for his birthday. I wouldn't mind filling up a whole bookcase with these pop-up books, they are that good. I had to shake my head reading the reviews that were not five star. Your lightsabers don't light up and you give it one star? You really don't believe there is anything else of value in this besides a light-up gimmick? (a cool one, though). Thank goodness the vast, vast majority of people see this as the treasure it is. Nothing less than five stars unless you got a book that was missing all the pages or something!

Espectacular libro que recrea escenas ambientadas en los episodios I a III. Tras esperar varios años a que saliese editado en España, como el anterior del mismo autor ambientado en los episodios IV a VI que sí fue editado aquí por SM, me he animado con la edición inglesa. Realmente los textos son escasos y no dicen nada que nadie que haya visto las películas no sepa ya, por lo que lo del idioma no es ningún problema aunque no se tenga buen nivel de inglés. En la última escena, el sable se ilumina de verdad. Tremendamente recomendable.

First of all, the book is a work of art, Matthew Reinhart is a genius. But I faced some issues as follows: I ordered this book earlier, had to replace it due to bad quality (cover damage/some pop-ups wouldn't work well) so I placed a replacement order for the book but the status wasn't moving for the replacement even after the final dates passed. By calling the customer service a couple of times I decided to have a refund on it. I placed a new order for it and got the same book with even worse quality. Disappointed.

O livro incrível. O Matthew Reinhart é um mago da engenharia de papel. Os movimentos e os mecanismos são realmente impressionantes. Um item imprescindível tanto para quem é fã de Star Wars quanto para quem é fã de livros Pop up!

Wow!! this is the best pop up book - pop ups within pop ups... enough text to learn about characters/creatures/machines. I think this would be a MAJOR gift hit for anyone that loves Star Wars, young and old :) Or to collect.

Este libro es fantástico,como todos los de Mathhew Reinhart y también los de Robert Sabuda. A gran precio estando en inglés. Imprescindible para coleccionistas de pop up o seguidores de la saga.

At first glance it was awesome, but it seems overly ambitious. THere were 2 of the bigger pop-ups that tore at the second day I bought it. Additionnally, Some of the popup were stuck and needed some help to open up correctly. Overall great product for SW fans, but I was dissapointed about the tears...

Comme d'habitude, Reinhart nous offre un très beau livre pop-up (c'est-à-dire avec des illustrations montées en volume). Un must pour quiconque serait à la fois fan de Star Wars et de beaux livres. Attention, ingénierie papier de Reinhart est toujours très belle mais très fragile. A ne pas laisser entre de jeunes mains. Le simple fait de tourner les pages trop souvent finit par abîmer (légèrement) les pages, et ce en faisant attention. Si vous cherchez un livre pop-up pour des enfants ou des personnes peu soigneuses, il existe d'autres très beaux livres moins fragiles que ceux de cet auteur.

Reinhart has done a fantastic job of re-creating the various Star Wars characters and ships in this book. There is a wonderful amount of detail which brings the characters to life in very creative and clever ways. This book is more of a pop-up encyclopedic volume, rather than a story book. I would recommend this to all young readers (though not too young) and lovers of Star Wars.

One of the best Pop-up books in my collection.

Bellissimo libro pop-up, completo e molto dettagliato nei modelli. Peccato che per due volte sia arrivato danneggiato in più punti.

Have a couple of these Sabuda /Reinhart masterpieces. Amazing. But definitely parental assistance required when reading with young children.

This book is unbelievable! It's packed full of amazing pop-ups and even has a light-up saber at the end. My 5 and a half year old son absolutely loves it - so does my husband! It's made quite well and seems like it will hold up to a lot of use.

Ho ricevuto questo libro un paio di settimane fa e ancora non ho letto mezza parola, troppo presa dalle meraviglie che compaiono mentre sfogli le pagine. Alcuni pop-up non sono proprio perfetti ma essendo un lavoro di cartotecnica è più che comprensibile.
