Spanish recipes, some nutr info, NO recipe pics, has pictures of scenery
Spanish Food: Enjoy Delicious Spanish Food at Home (2nd Edition) by BookSumo Press Offer of free ebooks, table of contents where recipes are not in any specific order. As with other works by Book Sumo there are a lot of full page color photos of the area, some not having to do with food at all. They could make a new book from them all. Each recipe starts with a title and to far right hand corner is a spot where this is listed-under a darker background sometimes, making it impossible to see: Prep and total time, servings and some nutritional information-not sure of portion size: calories, fat-NOT broken up into good or bad, carbs, protein, cholesterol and sodium. Main part of the recipe lists the ingredients and you should be able to substitute for your healthier dietary needs: low sodium, low fat, low sugar and fresh vs. canned items. Directions are given. There are NO pictures. Like that they do define in English what the title is. Not really impressed, have seen other books that are so much better.
Not really for the UK market or...
This book is not really for the UK market, or indeed the calorie conscious! Lots of sweetened condensed milk and oil used in a lot of the recipes. Rather than Spanish food, which I do enjoy, this book is more Latin American with a range of ingredients that you may have to 'Google' to work out what they are, or even see if you can find an equivalent. I mean, I'm sure that you probably can, but I'm not that sure how easy it is to get eg. frozen yucca root or cans of diced/sliced beets here in the UK. Other ingredients include Achiote, Sazon goya con cilantro y achiote, Mexiacan crema, Masa harina... the list goes on. One final point , I have the Kindle version of the book, less pictures of villages and cars etc. and a lot more of the actual food would be good. I'm glad that this book was free at the time otherwise it would have been money wasted! It is deleted from my library now.
Not as interesting as i thought
Not that great as I expected and only a few illustrations
