My favorite bug book for kids
This book is SO fun to read! The rhymes are silly and get my toddler laughing every time. The artwork is hilarious and kind of wacky, which makes the bugs more relatable and less spooky. Oh! And if you're a ladybug fan, this is a MUST! Kids can look for the ladybug on each page and he's usually doing something pretty silly. My 2-year-old loves finding him. Rolly pollys are also a favorite in our house, so the fact that there's a page dedicated to them sold me on this book. Even though this is a board book, we'll be reading this one for many days to come.
Love this book!!
This is the cutest book! My little one loves finding bugs, and we look for worms on the daily 😆 I originally got this book to put next to his sensorial table that I made him with dyed rice & hidden fake bugs (see pic) & he absolutely loves it! I love how it rhymes, has great pictures & has a page of what the bugs are (with their actual names).
The board book is too small
The board book version is only 5” which makes all the bugs and their names extremely hard to see. Defeats the whole purpose of a board book for toddlers. For roughly the same price you should buy the hardcover version which is twice as large.
This book is like crack to my 16 month old
I bought this book as a gift for my friend's son, but when it arrived, my daughter saw it and wanted me to read it to her, so I did. Then again. Then again. Needless to say, I had to buy a second copy to send to my friend's son. It's been about a week, and my daughter is OBSESSED. There have been tantrums when we need to stop reading Some Bugs to do something else. It's by far her favorite book. The illustrations are so colorful and layered, there are so many things to look at. She loves pointing at the different bugs (her favorite ones are the hawk moth and the dog tick). The text has a great rhythm and is fun to read, I'm not tired of it yet after our hundredth reading. I highly recommend this gorgeous, fun book.
A bug introduction must for Little Ones
This book blew us away! It is so good. The illustrations are amazing. The book is a great introduction to the world of bugs for little ones. Each page talks about the different things that bugs do (i.e.: stinging, hoping, etc..). It is very simple text. At first, we were a little bummed that the book didn't tell you what each bug was...however, get to the last page and there is a lovely visual with all the bugs featured in the book along with their names. Such a good book. We are so happy to have come across this. Our son love it.
Whimsical little- so much to see- book!
This is adorable, so glad I got it for grand baby! She is impatient, flipping pages for more and more color. And this book has in plenty of delightful images of mushrooms, plants, bugs, a raccoon and kitty... and swift rhyming words, not too many so I can actually say it all before she turns the page. Well, some of the time... So much to point at and talk about, and a page showing each insect in the book at the end, with names. Very happy with this one!
Beautiful illustrations & learn big names!
His love for bugs has grown! Fabulous illustrations. Simple words through book & no real story line of but it’s his FAVORITE! It has all bugs in book names listed in back. GREAT to teach them big names....he’s only 2 and says praying mantis, Halloween pennant dragonfly, boweevil etc!!!! When we learn a new bug we check out the back and practice saying the name. I only wish the board book came in a larger size to see bugs & names better. Still LOVE & a must!
The kid and I both love this book
I am so enamored with the illustrator of this book that I've taken to buying almost everything he does. The illustrations here are so cute and playful! My daughter wants to read this almost every single day. She loves to point out the bugs on the different page and we make up stories about them. She can now recognize so many bugs we when go outside and is really excited to see them in real life! She laughs at the antics of the ladybug on each page and loves that there are different animals hidden in with the bugs. Really can't say enough good things about this book. My only caution is that there aren't really a lot of words, so if you aren't comfortable ad-libbing or making up stories you may find it a bit boring. But if you make it interactive it's really fun!
Appealing to children’s eyes!
This book shows all different types of bugs in ways a child can enjoy them. The illustrations are attractive and colorful. I keep a board book in my daughters crib so when she wakes up in the morning she’ll quietly “read” for a while before alerting us she’s awake... this is one she stays entertained with. Definitely worth the purchase.
Informative book with cute messege
I am a sucker for teaching books. I hope to raise children that are kind and knowledgeable (obviously I think everyone hopes for this) but I want that to transpire to animals (including bugs). This little storyline is a cute way to encourage children to go outside and look around for the creepy crawly little critters.

Cute, doesn’t drag and informative!
My boys are obsessed with this book! It’s informative but quick. At the end all the bugs are in the back to find. Then they have another page with all the bugs in the book with the big names which of course they love. The stink bug is their favorite. They didn’t know stink bugs existed! Illustrations are so cute. And there is the lady bug on each page that they can find.
We love it, and would definitely buy more from this series!!!
I love that it fits in my daughter's hands! I mean, not perfectly, but it's a really good size for the age it's geared for. The art is epic and, in my opinion, original. There are little rhymes to help the children stay involved during atory time, and it's educational. Living on a ranch, and growing up in the sticks, I wish I had this book for reference as a kid!
Great Artwork, Good Story, Adorable Book!
This is one of my favorite books I've purchased for my two-year old daughter. Some kids' books have good art but are lacking in content, or vice versa, but this book delivers on both aspects. There are lots of hidden gems in the artwork throughout the book, so that is fun to explore, too. This book is educational, rhymes, has good content, and is visually beautiful- it will become a favorite!
4 year old loves this!
We just got this book for 2 days and my 4 year old bug chaser loves it! I thought it would be too simple for him but he really enjoyed this beautiful book. The pictures are so pretty & included a good variety of different bugs. I really like that it included a key of the bugs with their name at the end so clueless mom like me can tell their kid what the bugs are called. The text is simple but rhymed well. I was surprised that my son can almost recite the whole book in 2 days. He's learning the alphabets at preschool but hasn't been too interested. However he's somehow interested in this book enough that when I read it he seems to be trying to recognize the words!!
Absolute favorite book
I bought about 10 books at the same time with this one for my 3 year old son, they are all amazing, but this one is an absolute favorite! He loves looking at the pictures and already remembers almost all of their names. Plus you can play "I spy with my little eye", so much fun!
Fun--simple, sweet
This is a fun book. The illustrations are cute and appealing. The writing is simple, but it's catchy and for kids who like bugs it's a great read. It's got a nice read aloud quality and there's a ton for a child to pore over in the pictures. We borrowed it from the library and while my 4 year old enjoyed it, it was a little young for him, so we bought it as a present for his 2.5 year old cousin instead. It was a hit. I'm not sure I would have bought it for myself, as there's not much to it, but as a gift, it's great.
Cute
The illustrations are so pleasing to look at. The story rhymes well. Overall its a lovely book. I do feel like the words can be a little hard to see at times. Like you can read it, but you gotta look for the words because they're not standing out.
CUTE AF.
This book is so clever!!!! Great way to illustate to a toddler the many species that are out there and what they may see! I read it for the first time and just kept smiling. Simple word usage and rhyming and vibrant enough to hold a child's attention. Going in my childs Easter basket this year.
My 2 1/2 year old granddaughter loves reading along with this book!!
Some Bugs is such a fun book! I read it with my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter at bedtime and she and I act out each of the bugs, like buzzing, hiding, etc, and we have so much fun making all the sounds and acting each bug out! This is a great book to read together, or for any child to learn about bugs and what they say and do and have a great time doing so!
Love it!
This book is amazing! It’s really attractive and well done. Adorable photos and simple. Love the page in the back that identifies all of the bugs. We bought this for our sons first birthday, but even our 5 year old enjoys it.
BEST Book!
My 18 month old adores this book! We've made up actions for all the little bug characteristics and he asks to read it every day. This is his first picture book and it's so captivating that he can easily sit through the longer story. I chose a hardcover version instead of his usual board book so we could have a better look at all the amazingly cool and beautiful illustrations! I can tell this is a book that we'll enjoy for years to come.
Great Reading for Toddlers!
My granddaughter loves this book! It’s a sturdy board book with bright colors and amusing and educational descriptions of all the common bugs you are likely to encounter in your back yard. It’s a good read!
A good board book - lots of colors - my child reaches for it often
Of the 5 infant books I purchased from amazon, this is our favorite. Solid quality, thought was put into the colors and words. There is a bonus page with lots of stuff to point to and look at.
Great book
I bought this one on a whim and I am sooo pleasantly surprised. The illustrations are adorable, and the words in the book rhyme well and captures my son’s attention. Also it’s short but gets the point across. This is one children’s book that I look forward to reading!
Beautiful Bugs!
My daughter loves finding the lady bug on each page throughout the story. We love looking at all of the different beautifully illustrated bugs. At the back of the book there is a great page with their names next to their picture.
Captures babies, kids and parents. Highly recommend
I'm surprised an 18 month old could be so into a bill on but my toddler absolutely adores this book. And unlike so many other absurd baby books that try too hard, parents will love it too. Don't miss the ladybug on every page. What a delight.
Great Bug Book!
My twenty-month old loves bugs and he loves this book. The text is simple but it has a nice variety of active words for them to learn, and the illustrations are darling and eye catching, with very busy pages and lots and lots of bugs to point to and learn the names of.
Cute Bug Book
My 2yo daughter loves this books! Between the beautiful illustrations and the rhythm of the book, she is a big fan and asks me to read it to her almost daily. Great book to introduce kids to bugs!
Love it!
This book is so cute! It’s one of my son’s favorites. He’s been obsessed with books lately, so it was a great purchase. He will even quote the book when we see various bugs out and about.
Cute
I think the idea is so cute, but the illustrations are a little confusing and tough to see against the background.
An Instant Classic
This book will be one that parents are reading to their kids 50 years from now. It has a great rhyme and beautiful pictures. It has been my daughter's first choice for bedtime story since it arrived. She knows all the bugs and loves to find Oskar the Cat hiding in the foliage.
Visually beautiful
Love it! Super cute artwork simple wording. Perfect for my 1.5 yo and I’m sure beyond as she learns to read. Go for it!
Tiny book but mighty good story
Originally found this book through the library in a bigger size and LOVED it. Only issue is my toddler being rough on the pages. I wish they made the board book in a bigger size because this is tiny compared. I still love having the story for my son who enjoys the beautiful illustrations & learning so much about insect names!
Very cute and informative.
Really cute book! My 2 year old loves bugs! I also like how the end labels all of the bugs from the book.
Good book for a 3 yr. old!
My granddaughter is into bugs so I bought her this book for her mom to read to her. She loves it!
Perfect
I used this with my toddler class for insects week and it was a big hit. Beautiful illustrations and great writing!
Bright, colorful, educational... What else can you ask for in a kid's book?
Some Bugs is a catchy, short book that my 13 month old loves. The illustrations are bright and detailed. There's so much to find on each page that I may end up getting the hardcover edition eventually.
Our favorite!
This is our favorite book to read with our almost 2 year old. The illustrations are beautiful and creative and the story encourages exploration. We have different noises/actions that we’ve made for each page which keeps my otherwise very active son actually sit down and engage with a book! We now buy a copy for all birthday parties we go to!
Pretty book and nice rhymes
Beautiful pictures and simple rhymes. When we read it, we talk about the bugs in our yard and I’m constantly surprised by what my toddler notices in the world around him :-).
Great book for all ages!
Our daughter looooves this book and so do we. Great read and love the illustrations.
Fantastic books
Simply the best children’s author/illustrator out there! Can’t recommend these books enough! Brendan Wenzel is a magician!
Fun to read!
This is my 15 month old’s favorite book! It is so creative and fun to read. The art is amazing! All of the tiny details packed into this book make it feel fresh every time I read it - and it gets read OFTEN. While we don’t play with real bugs, the illustrated bugs are a huge hit. It is a great length to hold my child’s attention without being too short or too long. Highly recommended!!
Informative and colorful!
This is an eye-catching smooth read. Really enjoy the page in the back we can play find the bug with in the previous pages.
We love this book!
We received a copy from a friend, and have since given a copy to my niece. We love that the illustrations are painted with the actual insect's coloring in mind. The rhyming story is a short and fun foray into insect behaviors. Our four year old son has it memorized. A great buy for any kid that likes bugs or exploring nature.
Wonderful
A wonderfully illustrated book for little ones interested or learning about all kinds of different bugs. So much fun trying to find all the bugs. They even provide the names of the bugs so adults learn too.
Daughters love reading it!
It’s a fun fast read. Both my 4 1/2 year old and 18 month old love it.

My daughter's favorite new book
My 2 year daughter is obsessed with bugs and books so this is her favorite possession. We read it every night before bed, she sleeps with it, and we read it first thing every morning. The illustrations are beautiful and very kid friendly. The text is simple and has fun rhymes. This book was WELL worth the money.

This book is so cute! It rhymes and has lovely illustrations. My husband is an exterminator which is why I ordered it. He was quick to point out a few errors in the book. But seeing as it is meant for tiny children and not someone researching bugs I think it doesn't matter very much and would highly recommend it!
Fun book about bugs
I got this for my 2 year-old because she was starting to get scared of bugs. As avid hikers, my husband and I were eager to help her work through this. She loves this book. She asks for it at bedtime every night and quizzes me on all of the bugs. I don't think this book alone got her over her fear, but it did help to make bugs fun!
My Kids love it!

Wonderful book!
One of our favorite books. Gave as a gift to a friend. The illustrations are great and i love the idea of introducing bugs to kids in a positive way. They important creatures (for the most part)!
One of the Best Picture Books Ever!
This book is fantastic! It if fun for both parent and child. My Husband and I have both read it to our kids at least a hundred times and neither of us are sick of it (I don't think it will ever become annoying to read, which is a huge deal). It is one of my 18 month old's favorite books. She loves the cadence and finding the ladybug on each page. She has also learned to identify a lot of bugs from this book (she can already point to half a dozen bugs by name). My 3 year old has this book memorized and loves to read it out loud. The illustrations are fun and enchanting. This really is one of the better picture books out there.
Very fun
This book keeps our 13 months old attention.

New Discoveries Each Read
My son loves this book. The imagery is beautiful and fun. Each time we read the book, we discover new bugs tucked in the pages. I love how each bug world ties together at the end, as it shows the child exploring its own backyard.

Must have for boys

Great illustrations!
Quick read. Great illustrations!
and doesn't get bored before we finish the book
We have bought this board book twice - first for our baby, and then again for her daycare. We read it to her a couple of times a week. She's not quite four months old, but loves to look at the illustrations, and doesn't get bored before we finish the book. The bugs are illustrated, not like photographs. There is also a cute cat that makes cameo appearances. There's plenty to talk about on each page (like naming the foods that the ants are stealing) and at the end is a two-page spread naming each bug. We have since bought "They All Saw a Cat" by this illustrator, and "Some Pets" by the same author/illustrator duo.
Love Bugs!
This is my favorite children's book (and my son likes it, too)! Great illustrations and cute story. Easy to read and we never get tired of it!

One of my toddler's favorites!
Beautiful book for everyone
Some Bugs is a fun, quick read with a simple sing-song rhyme playing through its pages and illustrations that feel wonderfully alive. It puts little kids at eye level with all these buzzing, battling, building insects, like they're in their own backyards, on hands and knees, seeing small wonders for the first time. Everything's so bright and colorful and lively you want to pull out the pages and frame them for the walls. Already my six-month-old loves to reach for everything in the illustrations. No doubt it'll be a favorite book of hers for years to come.
We love it...
This book is a true literary treat. The images are spectacular. The rhythem and rhyme of the story is delicious. I bought this book for an in-class activity in preschool (4 year olds), but it turns out that this has become my 2 years favorite book...and one of mine as well. Some bugs will remain a classic in our own library.
Four Stars
Easy reading with colorful pages.

Fresh, playful illustrations. A fabulous bug book for young ones!
Fabulous and fun! If your young child is even remotely interested in bugs, this is a terrific picture book. My 'almost 3-year old' pours through it with fascination. Unique bugs depicted in action. Not icky! Loved the fresh, playful illustrations and the awesome bug finder (a page labeling all of the bugs) at the end. After a few renewals from the library, we got this one for our collection. Makes a good gift for a boy or a girl!

I am so happy with this beatifull book!
Good book
This is my 20 month old daughter's favorite book. It goes through a bunch of common bugs are describes some very basic characteristics of the bugs. She likes to read this, and repeat the sounds that some of the bugs make. Overall would recommend.
Great book for girls -- and boys too!
We heard this book for the first time at a story time program, and my 4 year old and 2 year old girls instantly loved it. Yes, my GIRLS loved it. The rhyming text and colorful illustrations are wonderful. Add this book to your library. It's a winner!
Great read, a must for a home library!
Got this from the library, love the cadence of the text and the illustrations. Loved the message, to get out in your own backyard and search for bugs! All the bugs drawn in the book at labeled at the back, awesome!! We ended up gifting this to a little bug lover, and will in the future too, it's SO cute!
Love it
Holy crap! My son (5) loves this book so much he artists pictures every day and asks us to guess which bug it is! Unfortunately, he got my artistic talent, which is in the negatives! Wonderful book!

Reality-based nature book with creative illustrations; great for the Montessori library
My 13-month old got this for her first birth and it was a hit from day one. Both her dad and I are big into nature and gardening, so this book has appeal to the two of us who have to read it many times a day! At this age, I favor books that are reality-based (rather than being imaginative) and use real words rather than cutesy, kid words. This book delivers on both those. I also like that the illustrations aren't overly cartoon-character-like, but they are still artistic. As a creative person, I can't think of another book on her bookshelf that has illustrations quite as engaging as these. There really isn't any anthropomorphism in the book, which is also great. The text flow and rhyming make for an easy, pleasant read. I sometimes sing the book to her. Definitely recommend!
So much bug fun!!
A field guide to what some bugs do! With a page naming all the bugs that were part of the drawings. The illustrations are so beautiful for this book they could seriously be posters for a kid's room! The illustrations totally make the book what it is. I loved the larger animals included in the spreads to show scale as well as the different sized bugs from the tiny flies to the big beetles. My nephew enjoyed this book and we talked about what was happening in many of the spreads (like the any hill!) and we talked about the verbs used to describe what the bugs do. So cute, I would run out and buy this for any child who is curious about bugs. The narration was very good and super fun. This is not a message book but is the stimulate creativity and a love for the outdoors.
A Bit Disappointed
I ordered this book to help my grandson learn that all bugs are not bad. Well, the first 4 pages are nothing but negative - STING, BITE, STINK, FIGHT. While these statements are true, I wish the book had started out on a more positive note. The illustrations are cute and whimsical. I'm not real sure I'm going to read this one to the little guy just yet.
Disappointed that facts are not accurate
While I like the text and art, I bought is as a nonfiction source and it's not. Both spiders and pill bugs are incorrectly listed as bugs and neither are. This could have been easily fixed with small asterisked asides on those pages or a note in the back matter, so I'm disappointed and don't know what to do with this book since it's inaccurate.
A book worth reading again and again
We are a homeschool family and have been working our way through a big insect unit study this year. We just finished up butterflies and Moths and will be moving on to grasshoppers, crickets, mantids, and cicadas. My favorite thing about this book was that most of the insects pictured we'd seen before. It was fun to read a bug book where the bugs were familiar, even the less than ordinary ones. The pictures were colorful, fun, and very captivating. It's one of those books where every time you read it again there is more to see. Did you notice the lady bug on every page? My kids adore that kind of thing. An educational find with some fun hide and seek.
Some kind of terrific!
Some Bugs is some kind of terrific! This bright, colorful ode to insects is a perfect choice for toddler story times. The text is minimal, with a smooth read aloud flow. We take a delightful tour through the insect world and learn that "Some bugs sting. Some bugs bite. Some bugs stink. And some bugs fight!" The rhyming is spot on the author manages to include quite a number of bugs. The text ends with an encouragement for youngsters to go out "and find Some Bugs in your backyard!" For the true insect lovers, the last two page spread is entitled "What's that bug?" and identifies all the bugs seen earlier in the book. Brendan Wenzel's design and illustrations are whimsical and endearing. His big eyed bugs are incredibly cute and his scenes are full of energy and motion. My favorite spreads were of the ants dismantling a picnic and taking the food underground, and the spread featuring bugs that hide. Kids will have tons of fun finding the hidden bugs! Larger animals appear where you least expect them, seamlessly blended into the background. These well designed layouts guarantee lots of requests for repeated lap sharing as kids discover new things each time. Some Bugs is a must have for story time and also an excellent choice for any toddler or preschoolers' personal collection. The flowing text and the big and colorful illustrations make it a natural fit for group sharing, yet it's the fun little details that guarantee kids will come back to it time and time again.
A Great Book About Bugs With Fantastic Illustrations!
http://readpicturebooks.wordpress.com I never knew that I could like a book about bugs so much! Some Bugs is a story about all the different things that groups of bugs do from buzzing to hopping to fighting. It is such a cute book! I have come across another book that was written in a similar style as this one, but this book is so much better! I love the catchy, rhyming text of the book and how it is so simple. All it describes are the different things that bugs do, but in such a cute, fun, and entertaining way. The illustrations are definitely the best part of the book! According to the copyright information, the illustrations were "rendered in almost everything imaginable" and that is easily portrayed in these amazing pictures. They are bright, colorful, and absolutely gorgeous! The illustrator added details to the bugs to make them cute, but they are still accurate in shape and color. It must have taken a lot of time to create these pictures. Unbelievable! I also love the last pages of the book where the author names each bug. I thought this would have been even neater if they were the end papers! This is such a great book to introduce children to the world of bugs. The author and illustrator worked together to create such a simple, quick, and an engaging read, and children will love it for many years. Hopefully it will inspire them to go look for bugs in their own yard! I highly recommend using this as an introductory teaching book for children two and older. Maybe they will have a favorite bug and you can expand their teaching with some non-fiction books about their favorites!
Delightful and adorable introduction to bugs
This is a delightful book to introduce little ones to the many different type of insects. The pictures and simply text make the bugs interesting and cute, not scary. My three year old loved seeing all the insects and finding the ladybug on every page.
Love this one!
I absolutely love this book. Angela's text is spot on with great rhymes that make for greater page turns. And of course Brendon's illustrations are out of this world. I love his choice of colors and his use of "everything imaginable" in rendering these images. Can't say enough good things about this one!
Fun Rhyming Look at Backyard Bugs
A simple rhyming look at backyard bugs that will encourage even the most reluctant “bug lover” into outdoor exploration. With adorable, colorful illustrations, children will enjoy this adventure featuring caterpillars, bees, moths and butterflies, ants, crickets, and many more bugs! Back matter provides bugs’ names in a What’s That Bug? chart.
Minimalism at its best!
I absolutely love this book. Angela's text is spot on with great rhymes that make for greater page turns. And of course Brendon's illustrations are out of this world. I love his choice of colors and his use of "everything imaginable" in rendering these images. Can't say enough good things about this one!
Smelled Like Cigarette Smoke
This was a gift for my grandson. Cute board book but the book itself smelled like cigarette smoke and needed to be aired out, very disappointed in shipping
... and my 3 and 6 year old kids absolutely love it. It has beautiful illustrations and lovely
We received this book as a gift and my 3 and 6 year old kids absolutely love it. It has beautiful illustrations and lovely, simple words that my youngest has already memorized by heart. We also love Osker the cat! I would highly recommend this book to all kids curious about the outside world. It has inspired us to go out hunting to see what we can find ourselves!
A super way to introduce little ones to bugs and what they do.
My granddaughter will love this bug book because it features cute, cartoon illustrations of various types of bugs (all have big eyes of course!) and it explains what bugs do...hop, glide, buzz, etc. The author doesn't try to give the names of all these little critters which is fine...I'm sure Brynn is too young to care. (They are provided at the end of the book though.) What she will know is something about how these little fellas live and that's a good start to becoming more familiar with the denizens of the insect world. Here's a positive book about bugs that is fun to read and look at. I don't want to bug you but I think this is certainly a book worth purchasing. Book provided by publisher.
I'm Going to Be THAT Person
I haven't ordered this book, and I won't. Scorpions are NOT insects. This misinformation is how we have adults who believe spiders, ticks, and worms are insects. It looks like a very cute book with awesome illustrations. I only wish it was accurate.
Beautiful book
This book is beautifully illustrated and written so that it fun to read for kids. My son likes to "sing" this book after watching the trailer for the book the publisher put out. I wish they had made a trailer for the entire book because I know it would be on constant replay as my son reads the book.
Great for 2-4 year olds, fun to read with charming illustrations
This is a charming book -- it's one of those books that's fun to read, that makes you just want to keep flipping the pages to finish the rhyme, and there's just so much going on in every page that it's sure to keep your kids completely entertained. It's a short, quick read, but one that my toddlers have asked for time and again. The words are fun and memorable (it quickly made it onto my son's "completely memorized" list), the drawings are bright and whimsical, and there's a last couple of pages of just bugs and bugs and bugs (that your kids will pore over and really, really concentrate on...)

A family favorite. Fun and educational
Inspirational!
Loved it! The illustrations were wonderfully delightful and the book very informative!
Excellent Kids Book
This story is not only fun with a good cadence and rhyme but the illustrations are fantastic! The bugs are beautifully depicted in a rich outdoor world. There is more fun to find than bugs in each scene.
lovely illustrations and a list of bug names at the end
The first time my brother in law read it to one of his two year old twins, one repeated almost perfectly the word "fascinating", which told me he was enjoying it just as much.
Love the bugs!
The illustrations are fantastic - enjoyable for both me AND my 18 month old son to look at. He still won't sit still to "read" the book, even though there aren't that many words, but he sure loves to point out all the bugs. As he grows older I can't wait for him to start finding all the little details. Love this sturdy little book.
Love it!
I love how simple yet so fun this board book is! The colors are vibrant, the illustrations are amazing, and the story is enjoyable! Don't hesitate on adding it to your little one library!!
Balances facts and cuteness - a wonderful book.
I was thinking I was going to have to write the perfect bug book, but then I found it - already written! The author and illustrator strike a balance by creating bugs that are factual without being scary. Visually, it has very pleasing illustrations with lots of detail, providing for discovery of new bugs and side story lines with each reading. I love that the last two pages of the book are dedicated to a "key" with the name of each bug next to its picture, which helps Nana to look like an authority :) on bugs.
Great baby book!
Love this book. Super cute!
So Cute
This is such a great book for your little ones to read or have read aloud to them. The artwork is fun and bright and I love the great rhymes and versus about some bugs. Glad we could add this special book to our children's library. You will love it!

This book is so adorable, and educational! Fun rhyming too.
Cute and clever.
Adorable and fun. My son and I read this every night at bedtime and he loves the pictures. The day isn't complete without going through the bugs on the labeled pictures on the back two pages of the book and trying to find each one in the final two pages of the story. We have both enjoyed trying to find them all. (Hint, the red velvet mite is hiding next to the picnic basket.) He loves bugs and cute pictures and I enjoyed the artist's cleverness. Good way to get a little kid interested in entomology.
