New favorite cookbook!
Oh my goodness I am in LOVE! I have a lot (a loooooot) of plant based cookbooks and this has been catapulted to the top of my favorites. I have watched and enjoyed From My Bowl YouTube channel. Everything I’ve made from her blog has been a huge hit. I still didn’t know I would love this cookbook so much. Large, hard cover and beautiful. Gorgeous pictures for nearly every recipe??? Always an amazing plus to me. I love that Caitlin has a little blurb above every recipe. Easy to skip if you just want to get to the recipe, but I have spent the morning reading most of them and it’s like talking with a friend. Caitlin has a great sense of humor and I feel her down to earth personality in this cookbook. Most of the recipes are quite simple with ingredients I can find at my local grocery store (and I live in a rural area). I love that her recipes focus on Whole Foods (no breaking the bank with vegan imitation products). I love that it’s gluten free and oil free. She also has a number of notes and substitutions for nut allergies. The servings are noted as well as the cook time and hands on time spent on the recipe. I have definitely felt my cooking motivation lacking over the pandemic. This beautiful book with it simple and yummy recipes is exactly what I needed for a pick me up. First things I’m going to make: Morning Glory Muffins, Creamy Corn Chowder, Taco Mac and Cheese.
For everyday!
Love this cookbook so much. I had heard of the book just before it came out and go it from the library. I made the lemon poppy seed granola pictured and the cajun rice and beans (which I've since repeated using different beans and a mix of brown and wild rice). I knew I had to purchase the book and since I've had it a few weeks - I've made 8 recipes. They have all be very good. I really appreciate this book because its gluten free and I'm a celiac. It's hard to find totally plant based gluten free books. Also, I've made: purple ginger lime slaw (delicious, fresh and unique) potato salad - amazing (I used herbes de province since I did not have fresh herbs) - 4th photo cashew cream cheezy zucchini fries - out of this world good - first photo one pot mushroom stroganoff- added bell peppers with onions to sauté (loved it) - second photo steel cut granola bars- think I may soak the oats a bit as they are a bit hard... but delicious non the less (will make again for sure) Love, love, love this book and the author's blog. Will be making many more recipes... like the lemon bars, mango lassi pops, tahini raspberry brownies, taco mac and cheese.. really wanting to try everything. Nice hardcover, easy to read and large bright pictures.
Absolutely beautiful and full of delicious recipes!
Caitlin’s blog is always one of my favorites to turn to for delicious whole food plant based recipes, so of course I had to order this the second she announced it! It goes beyond all of my expectations. There are gorgeous photos of every single recipe, and I’ve already made a few of them, but I can’t wait to make them all! I have never made a From My Bowl recipe that I didn’t love. It’s obvious that so much love and attention to detail went into this cookbook and I’m sure it will be a favorite of mine for years to come!
Must have for quick, easy and flavorful food!
You need this cookbook - a) because cooking from your phone is annoying and b) because this is a fantastic collection of foods for all kinds (vegan or not). I have followed Caitlin for a while now, and the thing that I love is I'm not wandering around looking for weird vegan subs all the time - her food is fresh and whole food based and uses pantry staples while also allowing you to experiment with some different foods (that are not hard to find necessarily). I just made the vegan chickpea tikka masala tonight with my instant pot (she has a few instant pot recipes in here) and it was BOMB. I also love the one pot mushroom stroganoff and her tofu scramble recipe. So far so good, and I wouldn't expect anything less from her! I guarantee you'll find several recipes that will become part of your regular rotation and that alone is worth the price!
Great for a gluten-free vegan trying to budget
I just love Caitlin’s blog and YouTube channel. I had to try the “sheet pan teriyaki bowls” they were great! I’m not a big ginger fan so I omitted it, and just used ginger powder. I love it! Can’t wait to make the next recipe! Great job on the cook book Caitlin!
You’re family will love this book!
I love this book! It has simple ingredients and many recipes that are easy to throw together. The ingredients are whole food and I love that I don’t have to alter the recipes to be oil free and refined sugar free. my kids and I loved going through and looking at all the beautiful pictures when it first arrived. Of course they wanted to try all the desserts. We loved the coconut sugar donuts. And The fluffy banana bread is a new favorite in our home now. Everything I’ve made has been delicious. Would recommend this to anyone who is trying to cut out unhealthy ingredients but still have simple comfort food to enjoy.
Easy to Follow! Taste Excellent! Great Photos!
I have been collecting cookbooks for decades but this one is exceptional. I made 3 different recipes today all easy to follow instructions and my results actually look like the photo. Disclaimer: I am not a great cook. I hardly ever cook. Like to have cookbooks in theory so I can cook but doesn't really happen. I decided to go Vegan and feel like I struck gold. So worth it!
Simple and delicious
I may be biased because I have been following Caitlin since I started my plant based journey a few years ago. The reason why I love her is the same reason I love this cookbook! She presents delicious and simple vegan recipes from staples pantry ingredients. You don’t have to go buy fancy ingredients. This book is the perfect collection of recipes including several savory breakfasts, snacks, sauces, mains and it even includes an instant pot and air fries section! Definitely a great buy for any level cook and any where you are on your healthy journey!
My cooking has gotten so much better <3
I asked my boyfriend recently what was his favorite meal I've made for him lately. He said "Anything from the cook book you got has been good". I have been watching Caitlin's YT channel for awhile and I love her cooking style because it is simplistic but really really delicious. I just realized that's literally the title of the book lol. I love how theres pictures for every recipe because in cook books if there isn't a pic, I just won't do the recipe ever. This book is always on my cook book holder and I refer to it constantly for my meals. The ONLY thing I can say is that I usually have to add more seasoning than the recipe calls for. If I don't, some recipes are a bit too bland. However, that's just me and that's personal preference. I pretty much know I can double the amount of salt, or whatever it calls for (garlic powder?), and then I'm all set.
Favorite cookbook right now
This cookbook is easy to follow and so so delicious. I felt like a lot of recipes were a little heavy on the fat with cashew creams and avocado but I’m sure it doesn’t compare to the occasional takeout I indulge in. In fact I would rather make the buffalo cauliflower penne and taco Mac and cheese over any takeout, they are that good! The kale salad and oatmeal bars were not a hit for me but the lentil-quinoa stew will be an easy go-to for my family from now on. While caitlin’s blog is a little intimidating for me at times the recipes in this book are so simple and easy! I’m surprised how quickly these meals come together too.

10/10
This cookbook is AMAZING. There is variety and the foods do not have long ingredient lists or take a long time in the kitchen to make. I’ve been vegan for a few months and this cookbook offers healthy meals that are super simple and easy to whip up. This would make a great gift for someone or yourself! Oh also, tons of pictures! I love that in a cookbook.
So excited to get cookin!!
I absolutely love this cook book!!! I’ve been savoring every page looking into each recipe and book marking my favorites! Some recipes are slightly different variations of recipes I’ve already seen on the blog, but they bring a new twist on some tried and true favorites. Kaitlin did a gorgeous job on the design and of course photos. It’s the perfect gift for any plant loving foodie!
Beautiful book, great recipes!
I am newish to being vegan (2 months in, 6 months vegetarian prior) and have been struggling to make satisfying, healthy, and cohesive meals. This cookbook is chock-full of wonderful snack and meal ideas. I tried the miso gravy the other day and it was fantastic! So excited to delve into these!
Love this cookbook
I have been following Caitlin's blog for years so I was very happy when this cookbook came out. It is a gorgeous hardback cookbook with lots of photos. What I like about it is all of the recipes seem new, not repeats from her blog. I also appreciate that each recipe does not require a huge list of ingredients and if you follow a plant based diet , I guarantee you have all of them in your pantry already. A great addition for your recipe collection!
easy to follow, healthy and VERY tasty results.
highly recommended, I have a LOT of cooking books and this one is becoming my fav. very easy to follow, no crazy complicated vegan ingredients, just simple to follow and healthy wholesome food. I am a fan!
aptly named - simply delicious!!
The fudgy tahini raspberry brownies and the green curry cashew recipes alone make the purchase of Caitlin’s book worth it - so delicious and easy! Also with ingredients that I have lying around most of the time anyway! I love that all the recipes have a picture, all of which are beautiful. Can’t wait to make more recipes!!
This cookbook is fantastic!
Thank you Caitlin, you are amazing! I pre-ordered this book and it arrived in early December. I made at least 8 of the recipes right away and have continued to try more. They've all been great, I especially loved the portabella stew with dumplings, butternut bean bisque (the rosemary makes it so scrumptious) and the spaghetti squash lasagna boats, but the morning glory muffins and cinnamon sugar donuts were a very nice treat, too. I've loved your blog and YouTube channel for years, so I knew the cookbook would be great but I had no idea that you'd be able to create even more delicious recipes that are not duplicated. Thanks again.
Nice job, Caitlin!!!
What I like about this book is that it includes simple, easy to follow (and affordable) recipes, BUT without retracting from a main goal: DELIVER FLAVOR. Caitlin uses ingredients that anyone can find at a supermarket, it's very whole food plant based/friendly (not just plant based) and has tons of pictures which is what everyone seeks in a cookbook as well. We cook and eat with our eyes. One last thing, it's very versatile, which means that if home cooks use their imagination, any recipe could turn into 3-4 different adaptation. Caitlin - that could be your next cookbook :-) Well done!!!!
BEST vegan cookbook since I went vegan almost 5 years ago!
If you follow Caitlin, it's no surprise that this cookbook is amazing. I have made something from this book once a week since getting it and everything has been amazing! It's all based on whole foods and can be made by anyone, no need to buy fancy or expensive ingredients from health food stores which I love! This book would be great for someone new to eating a plant-based diet, or someone more experienced in the kitchen.
Beautiful cookbook and delicious recipes!
I have loved Caitlin Shoemaker's blog, From My Bowl, and her cookbook does not disappoint! It's filled with beautiful photos, delicious recipes, and helpful kitchen tips. I'm so excited about it! I've loved every recipe I've tried and can't wait to buy more copies to share with family members. Thank you, Caitlin, for this lovely cookbook!

Variety, easy to follow, not too many ingredients, perfect!
This book is perfect! I’ve followed Caitlyn for years and this is her best work! Easy vegan gluten free recipies, most soy free and she has nut free swaps as well! Variety, tips and tricks, easy to follow, not too many ingredients, perfect! It’s my new favorite book. Do yourself a favor and get a copy!
Wonderful cookbook!
I love this cookbook! Since I went plant-based over a year ago, I have searched high and low for recipes that are whole foods and no added fat. Caitlin Shoemaker has done an excellent job of pulling together a variety of different types of foods that are easy to make, inexpensive, and with ingredients that can be found at most grocery stores. The roasted cherry balsamic vinaigrette is amazing!
Simple and delicious
I have been following Caitlin for a while, and everything I have made from her has become a staple. I love the versatility in her recipes as well as her honesty. This is a book I would 100% recommend whether you are vegan, WFPB, or Omni.
Great cook book
This cookbook is great for whether you are new to being vegan or have been for awhile! The food is delicious and well worth it!
I can't wait to start a recipe!
I'm so excited to finally have received my book today since, I pre-ordered it in October! Awesome and simple presentation.
Love this cookbook!!!
Such a beautiful cookbook with a ton of simple easy recipes...I've made so many of Caitlin’s recipe from her blog and we’ve always enjoyed every single one of them. Going to purchase more of her cookbooks for gifts.
Just wow!
A very beautiful cookbook. Each recipe includes a beautiful picture. The recipes are easy to follow and very varied. I bought another for my daughter.
I absolutely love it!

Perfect!!! Love everything about this book. Well done! Cheers
I love this book! Full of quick, healthy and flavorful recipes.
I have already made 2 recipes from this book. I was shocked by how quickly they came together while still having delicious results. I now know to reach for this book when I want something that is going to make me feel good and not take a long amount of time to make. Don't get me wrong, I love to cook complicated and heavy vegan comfort food but sometimes I need a meal that's simple and wholesome. That's where this book comes in handy.
2021 Must Buy Cook Book!
