In Whispering Pines, even downtime can be deadly.

The quiet time of year as settled over Whispering Pines. For months, Sheriff Jayne O’Shea had been looking forward to a little R&R but now she’s not so sure. What’s she supposed to do with herself? Take up knitting?

When a brawl breaks out at the local pub during the Thanksgiving gathering, a patron is critically wounded. Not the kind of distraction Jayne was looking for. There’s a long list of suspects, but she’s fairly certain it was one of the vigilantes who came to save the village from “that lady sheriff who doesn’t know her job.” But it might be someone from the growing group of villagers who aren’t happy with their sheriff’s performance. Or maybe it's someone who's not even on her list.

The one thing Jayne knows for sure is if she doesn’t get a handle on things, it could be time for her to turn in her badge.

Love the series and the author!

I don't believe Ms. Mcguire even needs my review because the series speaks for itself! I read the first book and I was magically drawn. It felt like I was cozying up with a quilt on a windy day with a cup of tea, coffee or glass of wine and hatting with a friend. By the second and thrid book in the series, Whispering Pines felt like I was coming home! I was that invested in the villagers and their lives and commuinty activity. I love cozy mysteries and this did not let me down. Being a part of the author's fan page only makes the series and her books more personal experience! Thank you, Ms. Mcguire, for inviting me to "live" in Whispering Pines! :) Can't wait for the next invitation!

Shh more secrets!

I read all 7 of the books in the Whispering Pines series. What a great way to spend your time reading a cozy murder mystery! Each book is somewhat stand alone but if you start with book 1 you get each character as they enter the “scene” and the backstory of why our interesting detective is there in the first place. The books are filled with mysterious and quirky characters. From the village residents to visiting tourists, there is always something happening and probably dying to be found! I cannot wait until a new book comes out!

I loved this book

I've enjoyed all the Whispering Pines books, and Silent Secrets didn't disappoint. Winter has set in and Whispering Pines, the busy slightly chaotic village has quieted down. The fact that an angry group of people were lead by a very angry man put Jayne's job at risk, and that upset me a little, but I had little faith in Jayne and she took care of the situation beautifully I can hardly wait until winter has really set in and everyone is snowed in. What a delicious thought of intrigue and mystery in a small Wisconsin town covered in icy snow. Shawn McGuire has written another great book, and I can hardly wait until book #8 comes out.

LOVE this series!

I was so excited to read this next book in the Whispering Pines series. The village is someplace I would love to visit (or live in) and the continuation of Jayne and Tripp's story in this book (as well as the other villagers) was just as satisfying as I anticipated it to be. Can't wait until the next book comes along ~ sooner than later, let's hope!!

Whispering Pines

Love the seiners. Starting book 8. Sad that it is the last, so far. The setting is great. Shawn makes you feel as if you are there. The characters are so perfectly portrayed that you feel that they are your friends, or in some cases, your enemy. You will enjoy reading the series. Very quick read.

Mystical books

I have read all 7 books. I could not put them down. As soon as I finished one I bought the next. Please write more on Whispering Pines. You writing is excellent and who ever proof reads your material does a great job also. I would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a great history and magical book to them.

Love Whispering Pines

I have enjoyed each book I this series. I like the characters, and learning a little about Wicken is so interesting! Can't wait to learn about the soon to come baby! Will be waiting for the next book. Thanks for an enjoyable and different read

Another good story from this author

Another great book with lovely characters that feel like friends! I can hardly wait for the next one. This author gives depth and life to the characters in these books, and the descriptions of the Village paints an interesting picture. I look forward to my next visit to the Village!

Past and Future

Jayne and Tripp hit a speed bump in their relationship and two groups of outsiders visit the town. Thanksgiving brings socialization and tension. Once again, a great read from Shawn.

Expensive for a 1/2” thick book

Love the books and the author but very expensive to buy the whole set, I am on SS and read a book a day. Cost me $75 for the whole set

Love this serie series

Love reading these. . Like being there and helping the characters sort all things out. Don't want to put them down. So good!

Silent Secrets

An excellent story packed with old friends, new friends, mystery, deceit, turmoil and commitment. What more can I ask for? Only problem for me is it was over too soon and now I am waiting for book 8 to see what happens next in Whispering Pines.

Great read

I love this series. A great mix of mystery and quirky characters. A heroine who is believable and sympathetic. Please write more

Great series!

I am enjoying this mystery series thoroughly. Great characters, interesting setting, and a lovely, unpredictable narrative. You won’t be disappointed!

Another winner!

Just enough intrigue and suspense! I was surprised about who the "intruder" was. Will be waiting (in)patiently for the next in this series!

Awesome!

Great as usual!

Slient Secrets grabbed my attention.

This series is more and more fun to read. Her characters never fail to grab your attention with each one being such an individual. The next book cannot come soon enough. A true fan.

Great story

Shawn's writing has a great balance where the story pulls you in a I have enjoyed all the bios in this series. Looking forward to more

A series you won't want to end.

Whispering Pines series was a great summer read. Whether relaxing on a porch swing or curled up in a nook in front of a fireplace, it will take you away.

This author will never disappoint!

This is one of the best written stories that I have ever read! Great characters and ❤.

Another exciting time in Whispering Pines

Jayne O’Shea is the Sheriff of Whispering Pines, as well as the co-proprietor of a local Bed and Breakfast that she runs with her personal and professional partner, Tripp. This story takes place in November, when tourist season is slow, so Jayne was taken by surprise when she discovered a few ladies praying together in town as well as troublemakers trying to stay in the closed campground. To add to that, Jayne is also receiving mystery threats. Without giving away spoilers, suffice it to say there is trouble brewing in Whispering Pines and it is up to Jayne to solve the crimes while also trying to adjust to a major change in her living arrangements. The author brings the story together well and I am eager for the next installment. I have read and enjoyed every book Ms. McGuire has written about Whispering Pines. Even though the Whispering Pines stories are a series, each book can be a stand-alone because the author does a wonderful job explaining who the people of Whispering Pines are. I received an ARC from the author.

Winter has come to Whispering Pines and Jayne's reception is getting colder too...!

*I received a free ARC of this book with thanks to the author. The decision to review and my opinions are my own.* This is book 7 in the Whispering Pines mystery series and I would recommend reading the books in series order as there are a lot of long-running plot points that reappear in Jayne’s latest adventure. There appears to be less ‘woo woo’ in the Pines in wintertime, with only a couple of minor visions, protection spells and a little bit of a ritual. Perhaps it is because Morgan is otherwise occupied (literally) and the other residents are hunkering down for the off-season? No off-season for Sheriff Jayne though, as some out-of-season out-of-towners have blown in and tempers are blowing up all over town. I was disappointed at the constant snapping and snarling between Jayne and Tripp, but not surprised at it reflected the general mood, with Flavia and Reeva at each other’s throats and a boys vs. girls standoff between the visitors. I really liked the two different groups of visitors: the rowdy couples with their plethora of personal problems against the strong, silent, supportive band of sisters (figuratively speaking). Obviously with this being Whispering Pines, everyone brought some secrets to the table and the real puzzle was working out which ones were relevant when someone got seriously hurt. If you enjoy a good cosy mystery with a real sense of community and a wider backstory then grab a coffee and muffin from your friendly neighbourhood kitchen witch and settle in for some Pine Time! On the single worst day of my professional life, my partner, Detective Randy Ketchum, shot and killed our unarmed informant, Frisky Fox. But why was I dreaming about that incident now? And why was my mind combining that day with the events of last month? “No, I don’t need to analyse it,” I snapped. “My subconscious is letting me know, over and over, what can happen if I trust people when my gut tells me–” In a flash, I understood why the events combined. No wonder I was having nightmares about Frisky. “What’s the matter?” Tripp asked. I sighed before saying, “This week is the one-year anniversary of Frisky’s death.” – Shawn McGuire, Silent Secrets Review by Steph Warren of Bookshine and Readbows blog

I love this series of books!

As winter starts to settle in at the Village of Whispering Pines, things slow down in Jayne's life as things seem to speed up for Tripp as he works to remodel an apt. for them. As Jayne seeks to find a hobby for winter, a group of Ladies show up in the Village to pray for the darkness that seems to cover the Village. At the same time a group of troublemakers show up to "Help the lady Sheriff" get control of her town. Two sisters in the Village faceoff in a physical altercation to add to the fray! Over the Thanksgiving celebration someone gets injured and it's up to Jayne to figure out just who did the dirty deed. Will there be another murder for Jayne to solve? Are the Villagers going to turn on Jayne? Can Jayne pull this mess together and keep things in control or will she lose her job to the troublemakers? I HIGHLY recommend this series of books, very well written and so hard to put down once you start reading! You feel like you are there in the Village of Misfits! I can't wait for the next book in the "Whispering Pines Series"

Can't get enough of this addictive series

This series is well-written and a page-turning delight to read. Ms. McGuire creates a fantastic plot line and many quirky characters that you'd really like to meet, at least most of them. Whispering Pines is an intriguing small village surrounded by a small forest of whispering pines. The village is filled with wiccans, carney people and of course tourists with a little murder thrown in. It's a friendly village is filled with conflicting and troubling relationships and eccentricity seems the norm. Secrets from the past keep boiling to the present day, interfering with the calm and serene atmosphere of this unique place. With all the secrecy, old personal hurts and a body or two, you'll be kept guessing 'who done it' until the end. This installment starts just before Thanksgiving, most of the tourists have left and things are quiet. Sheriff Jayne O'Shea is actually a little bored. Then sisters, Flavia and Reeva go nuclear on each other and Violet calls for help before her coffee shop is destroyed. While at the station Jayne finds a mysterious envelope on her desk the note inside says: "I know what you did" -- Nothing else. On the way home that night she confronts some campers in the closed campground and advises them to move on, maybe try the motel down the road. As she leaves she hope they won't be a problem Tripp is extra busy trying to finish the attic remodel as tension between him and Jayne is escalating and he doesn't know why. Is she re-thinking their future? This story had me in the first chapter and kept me going to the end. The only disappointing part was that it ended too soon. For a book that does that for you, how could it get less than five-stars? I received an Advance Readers Copy from the author. The above is my freely given review.

Many things come to a head...will they get resolved?

Once again, the seventh book in this unique series delivers a well written and easy read that holds your attention throughout. Jayne, who is continuing her search for answers – both professionally and personally – is confronted with more Whispering Pines disturbances and personal attacks that rattle her own sense of strength and security. However, given the special world of characters that the author has created, there are often others that lend Jayne their own kind of support and guidance. So, the book is much more than a mystery or two to solve. It also provides insight into working through one’s own fears and grievances – either let them get the better of you or you choose to overcome them and to be better because of them. This issue is reflected in several of the story’s persona but in different ways. It was a good read that I would recommend to others but it may be enjoyed more if you are familiar with Jayne’s journey and the people of Whispering Pines by reading the entire series. I say that would be worthwhile. I received an arc and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Get it together Jayne..

Silent Secrets is the 7th book in the A Whispering Pines Mystery series by Shawn McGuire. This is truly one of my favorite mystery series, and Shawn McGuire has outdone herself with this one. I know I have said this with each book, but this is the best one yet, the series just keeps getting better with every book. Silent Secrets begins with Jayne still reeling from the events that occurred at Halloween, struggling with feelings of insecurity and discontent is leaving her wondering Is she the right person to be sheriff? As the story moves on, we also begin to see some tension between Jayne and Trip. In the midst of all of Jaynes personal strife, a group of strangers come into town and begin stirring up trouble. Can Jayne pull herself together to save Whispering Pines? I really can’t recommend this series enough, if you like cozy mysteries with a touch of wiccan flair it’s fantastic! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC

Absolutely my favorite series. You cannot put any of these books down once you start reading.

Silent Secrets #7 – This has to be my all-time favorite series by one of my favorite authors. It is so hard to review a series without turning the review into a book report. This is a must read series starting with the first book. While these can be read as standalones, this is one series to invest in from the beginning. Ms. McGuire has an easy to read writing style that belies the intricacies of the continuous and new storylines. Her vivid descriptions place you there with a clearness of location, character and developments. Her imagination, active and nonrepetitive throughout her series, bring a depth to the tapestries she has woven in her storylines. It is wonderful to read about realistic characters that do not follow today’s stupidity formula common in so many books of various genres. They are realistic, people you know and understand. Yes, there are witches but do not expect travel by broom or the usual witch themes. The flow of the story(ies) keeps at a good pace and it is hard to put the book(s) down. There are plenty of emotions running the gamut, and a good balance between good and bad events, and good and bad characters. I contacted the author to review her books. 5* Whispering Pines series: Family Secrets, Whispering Pines #1 - An intriguing story. After finishing Stick and Stones, I dove into Family Secrets, my second book by this new-to-me author. These two books are nothing alike on storylines, except fantasy. I was drawn into this well written novel with an interesting plot and realistic characters, including the lovable dog. I couldn't put Family Secrets down until it was finished. There's an overview letting the reader know what the book is about, which I appreciate. This author is definitely someone whose work I want to keep reading. Two books, two winners! Kept Secrets, Whispering Pines #2 - Another intriguing story by a very good author. Now we're being to know our main characters as they grow in this book, while remaining believable and realistic. The well written, fast paced plot keeps the reader interested, making it hard to put the book down. The author’s descriptions leave the reader with clear pictures about the town, townspeople and property. I contacted the author to review her books since she writes such substantial stories that leaves a reader satisfied. Original Secrets, Whispering Pines #3 – This is the best of the series. So intriguing that the reader can’t put the book down. A well written, suspense filled book with two deaths forty years apart that may be connected. The characters are steadily growing, even the hated ones are interesting. Their dialog is realistic and non of The Stupid Formula for these characters. Her descriptions are clear and you’re there in Whispering Pines. I’m looking forward to the next book. I contacted the author to review her books; her stories are substantial and the reader is satisfied when finished reading one of her books. Hidden Secrets, Whispering Pines #4 - Another hard to put down story. Well written, suspense filled and full of intrigue, still with an interesting group of characters with new ones added to boot. This substantial story has several stories going at once, including the past and the future and the worries that stem from them. I've never been disappointed by any book written by Ms. McGuire and I look forward to more of her work. I contacted the author to review her books. Rival Secrets #5 - Another substantial and interesting read. Rival picks up a month after Hidden Secrets (#4) ends. The well thought out story lines keep the reader immersed until the last page. Every book in this series has been great and this one is no different. The regular characters keep showing more of their secrets and growth, and the reader pulls for them. Their dialog is interesting without any stupidity, just realistic and clean. There's touches of sexual tension and hints of mysteries to come. The murder was well handled and while there were plenty of suspects, the path to solving the crime was interesting. As usual, there were kinks along the path, but that's what keeps the reader involved with the story. This is a must read series, which should be read in order to find out all the secrets and learn the village and its folk. I contacted the author to review her books. 5* Missing & Gone - An interesting novella. This well written story introduces the main and some of the secondary characters of the book Family Secrets. It's a quickly read suspense story, which I read after Family Secrets; I didn't miss not having read M&G before FS. A conflict: Jayne knows her grandmother is a Wiccan, but she forgot it in FS? Minor detail, both are must reads, actually any of the author's books are must reads. Veiled Secrets #6 - I'm absolutely addicted to this series. Ms. McGuire is on my top ten list of favorite authors. This is another great addition. The story begins a month after Rival Secrets ended. There are a lot of surprises, good and bad, for everyone in Whispering Pines. Law enforcement will definitely feel the brunt of the happenings. There are two good endings or beginnings at the end of the book. The storylines were very intriguing, suspense filled and mesmerizing making it hard to put the book down until the end. The author's vivid descriptions of the Samhain event was pretty well done; I almost wanted to be there, but it's too far North for me. The characters keep evolving with each book and Flavia is going to go nuclear soon by the way she's acting, but that's another story. I contacted the author to review her books. 5* Whispering Pines end.

A Fight Leads To A Stabbing

Many thanks to the author for sharing the digital copy of this mystery. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own. Things are pretty quiet in Whispering Pines. It's fall, heading to winter and it is a slow time for visitors and tourists. Sheriff Jayne O'Shea feels that she has nothing to do .... she refuses to knit or crochet ... she can't concentrate on reading ..and she and her boyfriend, Tripp, don't seem to be getting along as well as they used to. She's also feeling a loss of confidence in herself and in her job. A fight starts in the local pub and a young girl new to the village is stabbed. The primary suspects are a group of eight men and women who seem bent on ousting Jayne from her job and creating an uprising among the residents. But then again, there were so many in attendance at the time, it could have been almost anyone. Jayne, with some help, starts investigating and working her way through suspect after suspect ... but there's a growing group of villagers who feel that Jayne is no longer competent in her job as Sheriff. Will she be able to pinpoint the person responsible? Will this be the end of her job? This is a terrific series. The village is quaint and the residents are entertaining in their quirkiness. The story is well written with characters that have grown on me since I first started reading this series. Although 7th in the series, this one is easily read as a stand-alone. But I recommend treating yourself by starting at the very beginning.

Winter comes to Whispering Pines along with the next mystery

This is the seventh book in the Whispering Pines series. Once again the next book in the series does not disappoint. Winter is arriving in Whispering Pines. The busy little tourist town of Whispering pines has settled down for the upcoming holiday season. Jayne’s job as sheriff has also slowed down for the season and she is trying to find ways to keep busy and be useful. Her relationship with boyfriend and business partner in their B and B, Tripp, has hit a rough spot as tensions build between the two build. Along with Jayne and Tripp’s relationship issues a group of visitors to the village are being lead by a confrontational man who cause a fight and results in causing a serious injury to one of Jayne’s guest on Thanksgiving Day. This creates a division in town between the villagers who doubt Jayne’s ability as sheriff and the ones who support and value how Jayne is performing her job. After solving the most recent crime in the village one wonders what the next trouble and secrets are still to come to light. I look forward to the next installment to the series. With each book in the series it continues to get better and better.

A home of dreams

I could live in Whispering Pines forever and never get bored. The characters are so alive, I feel as if I could walk out my door and visit. Many new things going on with Jayne as a group tries to destroy her, led by Flavia. The sisters, Flavia and Reeva, battle endlessly and you feel sad for them, especially Reeva. No murders in this one, but a bloody stabbing and lots of people in lock-down. It begins to go bad when Jayne and Trip are constantly fighting. A group of strangers come to town and disrespect Jayne as sheriff, making it clear they believe she is doing a bad job. Jayne comes across a small group of women who feel Whispering Pines need prayers and brings them back to her B&B. Lots of cooking, chatting, comforting from all as they prepare for Thanksgiving. At the party, there is a bad fight in which one of the women is stabbed and Jayne has to find the attacker before anyone can leave. Lots of suspense, lots of action as is usual in the series., and sweet magic with lots of love. The ending gave me shivers. Since Amazon lost my first review of this book, I got a second copy and read it again, and I am so glad I did. LOVED it once, loved it even more the second time. Read the entire series from book one, but each will stand alone. I would live in Whispering Pines if I could!

A rollicking good time

I received an ARC of this book from the author. Here’s what I thought: Another rollicking good time in (not-so-whispery) Whispering Pines! Witch sisters Flavia and Reeva are at each other’s throats again, this time quite literally! A would-be cop comes roaring into town with his posse to 'save' the village from ruin because the WOMAN sheriff (Oh, look out Mr.) doesn't seem to be able to maintain law and order! Add to all of this, a bad time in Jayne's past rears an ugly head. Oh, my! The good parts: little Meeka develops a new talent of soothing upset people and a little Woo Woo session led by Morgan and Briar bring Jayne and Tripp closer. All in all, another great romp in the Pines! I know I'll be reading this one again!

Thanksgiving in Whispering Pines Serves Up a Deliciously Dangerous Feast

I'm not usually a cozy reader but I was drawn into the series with book one and each new episode continues to engage with it's winsome sense of place, fascinatingly quirky characters and ominous family and village secrets. In this novel the dark days of winter are drawing down in northern Wisconsin. As Thanksgiving is happening in Whispering Pines, Sheriff Jayne O'Shea's love relationship is fraying and a vigilante group shows up in town to challenge her ability to do her job. Threatening letters, a stabbing at the village holiday dinner and an elusive man in a white hat adds to the suspense as the victim, a young woman from difficult circumstances, barely holds on to life. Highly recommended.

Magic and Mystery Masterfully Woven

Shawn McGuire is a wonderful story teller. I was drawn to her first Whispering Pines mystery and my love for them persists to this day. Jayne is the sheriff and innkeeper in a town owned by her parents and peopled with folks who practice Wicca: witches, herbalists, fortune tellers, and all manner of magically talented residents. Beneath the surface lurks jealousy, petty squabbles, all manner of frailties. Whispering Pines has many secrets and Jayne's arrival signaled the beginning of their revelations. Several murders have occurred resulting in rifts and now Jayne must prove her ability to handle her job just as a new crime is committed. Silent Secrets drew me in and kept me in suspense. McGuire weaves a tapestry of tangled relationships and human foibles. There are mysteries within mysteries and the reader is kept guessing until the end.

Can Sheriff Jayne O'Shea 'stand down' for a vacation....probably not.

Sheriff O'Shea is supposed to be on a vacation, but she doesn't know what to do with herself. That is not relaxing for her. But when a brawl breaks out in a local pub during a Thanksgiving holiday, this gives her something to keep her mind occupied. There are many suspects including the one that "came to save the town from that lady sheriff who doesn't know what she is doing". Or it could almost anybody! You will love the characters in this story, there are many of them and they come from different backgrounds. I did not figure out the 'problem maker' in this story. Lots of things going on to keep your mind busy! I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of this book.

Highly recommend

It’s not a secret that I love this series. I love Whispering Pines, so I’m always super happy to go back there. I love the quirky characters! My favorite is Morgan. Yes, I love Jayne too, and dog Meeka of course, but I just have a soft spot for Morgan! McGuire has the kind of writing style that pulls you in. The book is very well-written and suspenseful. A real pageturner I couldn’t put down. And with a good ending. Important in a mystery. And I didn’t know or guess the outcome, which is always a plus for me. If you’re looking for a good mystery book then look no further. I loved it and highly recommend it.

Whispering Pines is magical

Love Whispering Pines. What a magical and wonderful place. The main characters, Jayne and Tripp are so well crafted that they feel like friends. Morgan and the rest of the town also feel like I know them. Whispering Pines is a special town and you should visit and get to know its citizens. Really enjoy Shawn McGuire’s writing style and the stories that pull me into wonderful places and people. Cannot wait for the next book in the series. Love the characters, the town and all of the world building that goes into Whispering Pines. I love the talented way Shawn has of creating stories that entertain and enlighten.

Silent Secrets

Another great book in the series. This is book 7 and although you could read the books separately if you wish, it's best to read them in order. I love this author's style of writing. You feel like you are right in the town of Whispering Pines and each character has their own personality and it seems to grow with each book. The part at the beginning when Jayne is very restless and irritable, I think all females can relate to that. You have this great guy, great career but just feel out of sorts and snappy and you don't know why. Another great murder mystery in the series!

A winning series!

Things have slowed down now that tourist season is over. Jayne is having second thoughts about her job. She is losing confidence. However , a vigilante group has arrived. They are there to cause trouble. Will this problem be solved? Jayne and Tripp are bickering. Will they get things worked out? This plot is well constructed and story is well written. Characters are fleshed out. Descriptions are great. Shawn is very good at showing us what is happening and this makes for a much more satisfying story. I voluntarily received a copy of this book from the author and I'm voluntarily posting a review. My opinion is entirely my own.

Another wonderful book!

In this next installment of the Whispering Pines series, there is not one, but three mysteries. Troublemakers have arrived in the village. Are they passing through or looking to cause trouble? What are they up to? Who is the lone mysterious visitor? Who is leaving threatening notes all over the village? Are these situations connected or separate? And now the village is starting to unravel. Can Sheriff O’Shea solve these mysteries before the villagers destroy themselves? Is she strong enough to handle what’s coming?

Annoying main character and same plot

I have read the entire series and just love this little town of whispering pines. Story is well written and enjoyable. Only reason I can’t give it 5stars is because the main character Jayne is beyond irritating. In all the books i find her character and even dialogue annoying which is hard when she’s the main character. We expect to feel that from Flavia but it would be nice to have a main character that at least can be respected. And don’t get me started on the k-9 westie lol. I feel this series has so much potential especially with all the other likable characters although I’m not sure how many more people can end up dead or nearly dead before that plot is worn out.

An enjoyable book

I received a free copy of this very enjoyable book. The most recent installment of Jayne's story has her dealing with issues that make her an even more realistic character. I love that the author has her characters dealing with real life issues and everything doesn't wind up cookie cutter perfect. The characters have relationships that are complex and sometimes messy. As always there is a mystery to solve, and this one is a bit different than the earlier books. I would definitely recommend this book, but I suggest reading the previous books first to get the most out of this one. Looking forward to the next installment.

I'd Like to Live in Whispering Pines!

I read 1-6 of Whispering Pines novels at the beginning of 2019. I just discovered #7 and #8 in November, 2019. This one is #7 and is as good as the first 6. Whispering Pines, Wisconsin, is a Wicca community, basically practicing spirituality rituals. The protagonist is Jayne O'Shea, the Sheriff of Whispering Pines and in the family that owns the town land. There is an attempted murder. Solving the mystery takes all of Jayne's skills as the Sheriff and a person. Very interesting plot and people. On to #8.

Incredible storyline and character arcs!

I can’t review each individual book as I read them all super fast! This series is absolutely incredible. The author does a great job pulling you into the storyline and the many different character arcs and secrets. I’m so happy I discovered her and can’t wait to read her new ones as they come out! I read books 1-10 in the matter if one month if that helps haha.

Resolving the past

Jayne has officially started winter season with a thanksgiving meal at the restraunt but sadly before the dinner was over someone had stabbed one of the occupants of the B&B. While trying to figure out the stabbing things between her and tripp has gotten off tracks.

Please don't let it end!

I really love reading the Whispering Pines series as the characters have become old friends and I feel I know the area like the back of my hand. This story had everything - good people, bad people, romance and mystery. I hope this series continues in some way. I received an ARC and this is my honest opinion.

Interesting characters and storyline

I started reading this series a couple weeks ago and each one has kept my interest. I usually read prior to falling asleep and find myself staying awake far longer than I should. If you are looking for a mystery series that you can’t put down this is for you.

And the Secrets continue

This book did not disappoint. It has all of what I've come to expect from this author and she definitely knocked the out of the park. Can't wait for the next book in this series. I was given this free review copy at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

The 7th book in the Whispering Pines series continues the mysterious saga!

Who is sending Sheriff Jayne O’Shea mysterious envelopes? Is she in danger? Controversy continues to swirl in the town of Whispering Pines as some villagers feel that Jayne is not capable of being the town sheriff. Who is fanning these flames? Read this exciting book to discover the answer.

They just keep getting better and better

I really am falling in love with these masterfully developed charachters. My favorite genre has never been mystery and suspense before but this author does it so well i'm won over. Each book in this series just gets better and better.

An excellent book, part of an excellent series!

This continuation of the Whispering Pines séries gives us more of all the reasons I like the series so much. I care about all the characters and what happens to them. My advice: read all the books, and read them in order. One of the best series available.

Another great whispering pines story.

What not to like about book? Suspenseful, great characters, and author spins you a great addition to series. Jayne, doesn’t know what to do with herself, now that winter is coming, and everything is slowing down. Be careful what you wish for. Highly entertaining, and highly recommend this book.

A ten star series

Great series. This is the best series that I have ever read .I loved the mystery and thrills that kept me from putting the book down until I finished. I wish there were more books in this series because I just finished the last one . I sure hope there will be more books in this series . I highly recommend this series

Unsure

I have loved all of the books in this series, reading each in a day. This one felt different; maybe due to Whispering Pines off season, maybe not. I did not feel this book was given the same thought as the previous books. I do like the characters so will read the next in the series.

Well developed characters

Jayne has to heal herself while trying to save Whispering Pines. This book touched me in such a very personal way that I felt my own healing was finally able to begin. Thank you, Shawn, for this precious book.

Wonderful series!

Great read! Jayne and Tripp learn to deal with there individual past so they can move forward together. Of course they had to deal with trouble in whispering pines first!!

Can Jane handle the pressure?

An absolutely riveting read. I love this series and didn’t think it could get any better but the author pulled out all stops with this book. Hard to put down once you start reading!

Enjoyed very much.

This book in the series was fast moving. So many suspects and only 2 jail cells. Many whispering pines citizens involved in the plots. Trigg and the Sheriff's romance continues to grow. The sheriff has much to handle in this story. Engaging and interesting and always surprises. Enjoyed very much.

Enjoyable!

It's winter time, but things are still busy for Sheriff Jayne. As with the previous books in this series, this is a well-written story. You will be pulled into the story and feel like you are there. I have really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next one in the series!

Love this serie

The author continues to warm my heart with this wonderful setting, lovable characters, light mystery, and a sweet romance. If I could live in this town, I would!

Did not disappoint!

Jayne and company did not disappoint! I really liked that the characters had real life issues. The two mysteries in this book was a nice change as well. I couldn't put the book down towards the end!

Good story for this wonderful series!

Love this entire series! This book was a great addition to this series. Love the characters and the entire setting.

I absolutely love this series

I have just finished reading the Whispering Pines series to do. Love the characters and settings of the books. I read them one right after and couldn't put my Kindle down. Can't wait to be able to read more of Jayne and Tripp adventures in Whispering Pine.

Can't wait for volume 8

Read the series one after the other. Sorry to get to the end. Really enjoyed this series. Lots to think about

Great book

Once again Shawn McGuire has woven a story that catches your attention and doesn’t let go until you done reading. Jayne is left questioning her decisions about almost everything in her life. If you haven’t discovered this series yet,do yourself a favor and read it.

Villagers have Jayne's back!

What a great way to spend time escaping to the Village of Whispering Pines. Jayne faces challenges head on, take no guff, and friends to back her up.
