Rush Limbaugh tells another story in his series of time traveling adventures as Rush Revere. This time Liberty, his time traveling horse, takes he and his young students back to the days of the writing of the Star Spangled Banner. But before he does this he travels to Washington DC in real time, visiting many of the historic places in our nations capital. Limbaugh's research into these places brings the places alive to the reader. His knowledge and fondness for all things patriotic is commendable. As I have enjoyed his previous stories of adventure I expected more of the same and an improved writing style. I gave his 4 stars only because I felt that it did not quite live up to the quality of his other stories in this series. Still, it was a joy to read; captivating; hard to put down. I guess I feel that Revere spent too much time bantering on Liberty's incessant fondness for food. After a while it just got old. Recommended? Yes!

My family is learning so much as we have listened to all four books in this audio series (This is the 4th.) I admit that I kind of loathe celebrity children's books and was reluctant to look at these but these books are well-written, funny and informative. He presents lots of well-researched information about American History (in this case the War of 1812 and the story of our national anthem) in the context of students who time travel with their teacher and a talking horse named Liberty. He also weaves in other contemporary themes such as having a parent deployed in the military, bullying and having a loved one with a terminal illness. My son, a bright but reluctant reader, began listening to these last year in 3rd grade and was laughing out loud. Loved them! He actually wanted to know more about Henry Knox and read a biography after listening to the 2nd book. These books are wonderful! (I am learning things, too!) Rush Limbaugh's audio performance of his work is charming as well. (He's very funny!)

This is the story of the our national anthem that nobody knows!! Pres. Obama hated it only because he didn't learn the story behind it. Many people gave their lives defending America from the British armada.....the story as only Rush Limbaugh can tell it, is the truth and historical fact, as with all his books. Geared children, it's fun to listen to and refreshing for adults. I have the whole series of his 'children's' books on the USA. Great series with rave reviews....LOL...the ONLY complaints were from liberals who didn't like Rush doing it! Well, they don't have anything of their own! How sad. BUY IT!

I bought this for my Great-Grand Nephew...But I first, being a lifelong avid reader and author, I carefully inspected the book to determine its quality. I'm happy to report that, in this age of cheaply produced pulp books, this book is of the highest quality. My nephew's birthday is approaching and I plan to purchase the other books in this series. After reading several chapters I determined that the historical material was presented with great accuracy and in a manner that minors will understand and hopefully appreciate.

We just love the Rush Limbaugh, Rush Revere Series of books & we can't wait for the next book to be released. Great for adults and children alike. True American history taught in an easy simple to understand format that keeps you wanting more. Awesome job Mr. and Mrs. Limbaugh!! Keep them coming!

My 10 year old son has read every book in this series, with this being the latest one. The character development is weak overall and rather cliche. The unifying theme of this book is not as coherent as the other titles in this series. Also, the constant references to texting, etc., seem to pander to the idea of young people being unable to find interest in anything absent technology and social media. They are so constant that at times they detract and distract from the purpose of the story. Why four stars then? My son loves to read and his reading ability is significantly above this lexile level, but he seldom finds history interesting. I struggle to find books about history in which he can get lost, like he does in pure fiction titles. This is a great summer read- easy, engaging, with enough of a dose of history that he can actually learn something along the way and perhaps get a bit more out of our trips to historical sites. Not every book has to be a Caldecott winner to be worth reading.

Rush Revere and Liberty are a hit in our house. This is a fun and entertaining story for elementary aged readers or a great bedtime story for parents to read. The fictional story time travels through history where the characters experience first-hand historic events including the famous battle at Fort McHenry when Francis Scott Key penned his poem that became our National Anthem. Liberty is his usual hilarious self which translates into lots of laughs for my son. This entire series of books is well worth the investment. I highly recommend this latest installment in the Rush Revere series.

As a grandparent, I think it's critical that children are taught American history -- but NOT the anti-American "America-is-bad" perspective that seems to be so widespread these days. I bought these books but my grandson isn't a big reader (unlike my granddaughter) so I purchased the cds also. LOVE Rush's stuff for kids!

I bought these for nieces and nephews and children of friends ( 5 copies of each ). I read them before giving them and even though I considered myself as knowledgeable in U.S. history, these books gave me a much more comprehensive and interesting understanding of this great country. What a fantastic way to tell the truth about our history. I wished these books were required reading in American schools. This is a great investment in your child’s education that will spark their desire to learn!

All of my 8 grandkids love these books. Their ages are 13, three 10 year olds, two 8 years old and a 6 and 3 year old. I love how the author makes sure that the book is historically correct, and how he brings fun into history with the talking horse. My two daughters use these in their home schooling for history and reading classes.

We LOVE this entire series! After being gifted the first 2 books, I had to complete the series. I think this one had some stickers in it....but I bought used. We still figured it out 🙂

These books are wonderfully written. They captured my attention and as I was reading it to my granddaughter, my husband listened in and they both wanted me to continue. What a great way to relearn America’s history!

Buy them that is all I can say. Kids know more about history than you can imagine and they are only 6 and 8. Children love the Rush Revere series because it puts them up front, right in the middle of the most exciting and important events of American history. Plus, it's funny! The only thing that bothers me, and it has nothing to do with the content, is that the figure of Rush Revers is out of proportion. His head is to big for his body. A MUST have for 9-13 year olds. Chances are your school system is giving your kids a terrible or at least a lacking vision of our founding forefathers and the origin of the U.S.A.. This book series will make them like history and actually teach them the correct good stuff. If you are an America hating Progressive Democrat Leftist you will hate these books. They teach all the truth you wont tell your kids about.

These books are fun to read. I have read all the books in this series and each one is great. Very accurately written. And very interesting. You don't have to be a child to enjoy reading these books.

Much public education is failing to tell the real history of our nation. These books provide a fun way to learn some of that history while, hopefully, piqueing the interest of students, encouraging them to explore further as they grow.

While the cover portrays the bombing of Fort McHenry and implies a War of 1812 content, most of this book focuses on the creation of the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. This book is funny: kids love Liberty. The pickle scene is a winner. The book, like all of this series, is a bit hokey: lots of bad puns and grounders. But when kids are laughing, they are learning. Two scenes from the War of 1812: Mrs Madison rescues Washington's potrait, and being with Francis Scott Key for the writing of the poem that became the National Anthem. Vivid scenes which kids will remember, both. Also includes a good tour of the monuments/buildings in Washington, D.C. (National Archives, Washington Monument, Supreme Court, White House, Lincoln Memorial, Congress) and An excellent, memorable explanation of Constitutional powers and checks/balances. Even touches on the original sin of slavery. Well done.

I am an adult who read this book even though it was written for the pre-teen - teen population. This book is very entertaining while teaching a great part of our history, the reason the Star-Spangled Banner was written and who wrote it. As with all of the Rush Revere books I re-learn the history of our great United States in a much more personal way. Rush Limbaugh puts you right in the middle of the events of our history in a way that you feel you are experiencing each and every one. It is fascinating.

We purchased this book for a book report project for my son. He really enjoyed this book, and now wants to read the other books. This is a great book for helping children learn our US History in a way they can. It is historically accurate and a fun (and different) way to learn US History. I would recommend this book for any grade reader 4th - 6th (maybe 7th) grade.

I am 60 years old and a minister. I have read many good books in my life but these are some of the greatest. I love history and appreciate these so much that I purchase the audios for my six grandchildren and their families.

This was exciting for me to read to the children. All of the "Rush Revere" books are beautiful books with historical facts and illustrations. I think they will be a great addition to your library, and hopefully will be passed down to the next generation.

Rush Limbaugh continues to exceed expectations with the latest addition to the Rush Revere series. My grand daughter loves them and was begging for this newest addition. Too bad all history books can't be as entertaining and readable as this, because a populice that doesn't know history is bound to repeat it.

The best American History series for youth and children available. These books not only teach the traitional American History left out of public school education, they are highly entertaining and kids love them!

Take politics out of it and forget about the author this book is an excellent read for young learners. This book was written in a fun way to keep you engaged and learn about American history all the same time. My 10 year son loved the book and could not wait to start the next book in the series.

Rush comes through again. Superior, factual American history presented in an entertaining fashion that even young children can learn from... but don't think as an adult you won't learn as well. By FAR, the best way to learn American history and enjoy doing it.

Great series of books. Leave it to Rush to make history interesting for kids.

This is a good story. I would prefer to see more about the constitution and the writing of the Star-Spangled Banner and less about the horse and his friends. Perhaps I'm just too old and cranky.

My grandsons loved this and all of the books in this series. this is not the Rush Limbaugh you expect, they are not in any way political in nature. Get the entire series for any young people in your family if you want them to truly understand American history.

Very well written and engaging! I bought 3 sets for each of the grands, grades 3 & 5, because I was concerned about our history being lost to our younger generations. So glad I did. The quality of these hardbound books is noteworthy, with nice thick pages and lucious artwork. Highly recommend. Book one is Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims.

I liked the the Rush Revere series immensely! Wish my History classes would have been taught like these had been presented by Mr. Rush Limbaugh. He has a way of writing that makes you picture yourself present and experiencing what is happening. To me, that is a great author to be able to accomplish that achievement!

These books are NOT political, they are historical. My 8-year old and 10-year old grandsons just love them. They like the story and have learned so much about American history. This is the 4th one I have bought.

This a great book and I enjoy listening to Rush Limbaugh narrate it!

I am in my 50's and didn't learn much history in my youth. The Rush Revere series has been a great way for me to refresh in some areas and learn where the public school system failed me. I purchased the audio version and listen whenever I have time.

Two elementary aged kids and two parents love, love, love these books. The kids are able to point out things they've learned to other people at varying times, so they are really learning and retaining what they read.
