After almost losing everything at the finish line of the 2013 Boston Marathon, O’Donnell, a nineteen-year-old college student, was left empty and broken. In the aftermath of the bombing he not only struggled with the trauma of the events, but also found that terrorism had stolen his passion for running. Unable to find healing in his conventional life, O’Donnell embarked on an inspiring and ambitious quest to run a marathon on all seven continents. His search for peace took him everywhere from dodging penguins in Antarctica to running under the shadow of Mt. Everest. Finding new love for his sport and seeing the good of humanity in all corners of the globe, O’Donnell experiences triumphs and unexpected tragedy in this beautifully described journey. A true testament to following your dreams, this adventurous story serves as inspiration for overcoming fear in the midst of overwhelming adversity.

A Must read an Escape, and true life journey. Like being there.

Your book intrigued me and made my heart racing like I was there running with you. My true love was once running me and my shoes and the feeling of ground under my feet. The bigger the Hill the better. I never felt more alive really till this day. Not being able to physically go running anymore . Your Book brought me back to that forgotten thrill. Thank you so much for telling your life journey of healing and your selfless courage. Your book applies to all of us living life no matter what we are going through. It is very healing and a thrilling escape, especially right now with Covid-19. Definitely a must read.

Inspiration defeats tragedy~ an epic adventure!

Bobby shares his story of his tragic day in the 2013 Boston Marathon Bombing and his heroic effort to become whole again through traveling the world and conquering marathons on seven continents. Fascinating book that takes you through some of the most grueling foot races in most remote parts of the globe. See Bobby grow from a privileged kid on the hill at St. A’s to a well traveled man with a thirst for adventure in just a few years time. Funny, touching and raw. Good read. Worth your while. Buy the book already.... 😄

Really enjoyed this book!

I am an adventure loving person who also loves reading about adventures and I throughly enjoyed this book! I climbed Kilimanjaro as well and had a blast delving it through Bobby retelling. His reflections upon healing and living alternative lifestyles with different goals and values were really wonderful. Highly recommend!

Wow!

I have watched maybe about 30 minutes of foot racing in my life. This book is more then about racing. It's about the fragile and unbeatable human spirit. Couldn't put it down.

I Tried Hard To Like It.

I read it, cringed at the writing, set it down, and picked it up again later - several times. I love running books, and it is hard for me to not enjoy a good running story. I didn't love this one. The story was fairly predictable, and the writing subpar.

Inspirational !!

Absolutely inspirational!! Such a good read. Takes you from tears to smiles through the journey. So much to think about. Who else can say that they would ever do what he did??? He is making memories and life long friends. Bobby is the epitome of what it means to be crushing his goals. The whole meaning of “ because I said I would” is also contagious!! I have started behavior like this because of him !!

A wonderful travelogue /adventure tale with an important and inspiring message .

As a fan of books like Into Thin Air, Wild and Thirst, I eagerly dug into this book and was most impressed. Not only is the story compelling, but the writing is insightful and eloquent. What a nice escape to travel around the world with Bobby during these stressful days indoors in April 2020! What a fresh young voice! HIghly recommend.
