Following the tragic death of his deceitful lover, Mason hopes to return to the one place where a peaceful life might still be possible. Detouring to recover a hidden treasure of gold, he meets a beautiful widow in trouble. Together, they travel to her hometown of Clover, South Carolina, an idyllic community protected by a police chief and his faithful deputies. Caught in the middle of a plot driven by greed and lust, Mason soon discovers that carrying a king’s ransom is not without its risks.

Meanwhile, Issa and Mother must find their way out of the tunnels under Mount Weather. Pregnant and without supplies, Issa is forced to use her wits and trusty Merkel rifle to keep them alive. As they push deeper into the darkness, they uncover a horror that traces back to the earliest days of Mother’s rule. They quickly realize that their only hope for escape is to trust one another, even if it means taking an unthinkable risk.

With two nuclear warheads in their possession, Tanner and Samantha embark on their journey back to Mount Weather. Along the way, they encounter a bounty hunter in search of his next job. Agreeing to transport him to a place known only as “Sanctuary,” they discover a community built around the unlikeliest of currencies. With evil threatening to tear them apart, they must once again stand together if they are to have any hope of returning home.

The best series you will ever read - Survivalist Series

I purchased the last book yesterday and didn't put it down until I finished it tonight (except to sleep last night). Thank you for giving us this series and bringing these characters to life for each of us. I feel like I know them personally and enjoyed how this talented author wrapped up each persons story, yet am saddened that the series has ended. This author is the only writer (and I have read hundreds of books the last few years) that was able to pull me in and literally not let go. His style of writing is the very best I have ever read. Each character in the series are strong, committed, loyal, and often times funny. Love Tanner and Samantha's banter, comraderies, journey and Mason and Bowies journey. I truly hope he continues to write and I hope to read a new series by him some day soon. Thank you Arthur T Bradley again for taking me and your readers into the survivalist series and giving us what I feel is the very best story I have ever read.

Great book. Great series. Sad to see it end.

This has been a fun series to read over the passed several years. Starting out as a zombie survival series and turning into something much more interesting with strange creatures, fun and sometimes outlandish adventures, and heroes fighting disreputable villains along the way. And as Dr. Bradley says in his parting comments, the series is about family. Not just your “blood,” but who you bring into your family, and what you would do for them when the chips are down. Certainly sorry to see the series end, but then all good things must, in fact, come to an end. And Dr. Bradley gave these characters a fine send off. Highly recommended from beginning to end.

Tied Up Loose Ends

I enjoyed this latest installment very much, especially the way it tied up loose ends but didn't let human nature off the hook. Plenty of drama and surprise in this book too. Tanner (the father figure, real and adopted) was my favorite in this book. I love the way he allowed his adopted/rescued daughter Samantha to lead him to do so many good deeds for others when he was under pressure to get back to his wife. His character really evolved in some ways over the course of the series but never lost the brutal edge that protected them through all the books. Samantha is my favorite overall in the series. She is remarkable and Dr. Bradley writes her beautifully and authentically. I do wish we'd seen more of Marshall Raines and Tanner together but, realistically, parents and children go their own ways in life all the time. The characters are so well-developed that the reader can imagine many futures for them, separate and apart.

Fitting Conclusion to an Epic Saga

“Road Home” provides closure to the epic Survivalist series, and I will miss the characters. I quickly became hooked on this series of plausible post-apocalyptic novels after reading the first in the series, “Frontier Justice.” Dr. Bradley has written an insightful series that provides valuable information for life in general as well as being prepared for a crisis. Having served a combat tour in Vietnam, I could relate to the observations and experiences of Deputy Mason Raines who is a true American hero. In fact, I thoroughly enjoy how well Dr. Bradley has developed each of the main and side characters. The author is extremely knowledgeable about weapons, equipment, and survival skills. As in all his books, there is a lot of action, and the protagonists have to make gut-wrenching decisions. I have only one negative comment: I was extremely disappointed at the author’s inclusion of the Davy Crockett rocket in the story. During my 30 years as a field artilleryman, I had two tours of duty with nuclear capable units. My first tour was with an Honest John battalion in Germany where we kept our nuclear warheads at a NATO storage site and routinely performed maintenance on them. After the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, safeguards were placed on all nuclear weapons to prevent their accidental or unauthorized use. One such safeguard included a Permissive Action Link (PAL) which was a locking device with a six-number combination which took members of the Red and Blue Teams to unlock. Each member only had three numbers of the combination. It would thus be impossible for anyone in this setting to successfully use these warheads. Also, the Davy Crockett was taken out of the Army inventory by 1970. The warheads would have been dismantled, and the propellant would have long since lost its potency. While I recognize “Road Home” is a work of fiction, the author should be realistic / accurate concerning actual weapons and their shelf life. As in his previous books, the author provides numerous eternal truths concerning devotion, family, and bonds of love that we should all take to heart. I hope that the author will give serious thought to writing a sequel set five or more years in the future.

Best of the best!

I have waited for this one for what seems like a long time. LOVE the survivalist series - great writing, excellent editing and a story line that keeps you jumping! This author is not to be missed. My only problem is that this is the end of this series so hopefully he's hatching up something equally great for the next time around. His ability to develop characters is unmatched in my opinion - from the big tough guy cop to the really tough guy ex con to a troubled but fascinating 12 year old girl (going on 35) is beyond compare. Keep em coming!

So great reading and Learning

I am an avid reader and lately it has been about survivalism. I learned so much and really could not stop reading. Actually this is the second time reading this series. The first it was not all available. So I reread and completed it. Fun, funny in lots of places, scary, realist, fantastical (I hope) in others and romantic. Reading at its finest as nothing was left out. Really recommend it. Also my history is that of teaching emergency preparedness. I learned in these books and you can too! No one can ever be to prepared. If you lock your doors at night, buy life, health or auto insurance you should also be prepared for at least the most common emergency in America which is a home fire. Can you walk away from your home for months and have the basics of what you need? Then you are not prepared! An EMP is a very likely scenario and could put areas or even the country or the world back into the 18th century like this story. How well would you do in that scenario? So read enjoy, think, and prepare!!!

Entertaining

Hands down one of the best apocalyptic survival series i have ever read. It has a real light hearted twist yet keeps you turning pages, all while being very educational and informative. Very entertaining 👏. I have a Kindle library of over a hundred different survival/ apocalyptic books, and this is by far one of my favorites so far. I wish it wasn't ending I would love to hear more stories about Samantha and Rowan. Not to mention more stories of Mason and bowie. Thanks for the great stories.

Action thriller

Dear Authur, this series was very well written and had many adventures and thrills. Sometimes it felt that I was in the book while reading. This was very good feeling for most books have many pages that are fillers and could be left out. This set of books every page was needed to help view the action for that I am very 5hankfol. Sad in a way for the adventure is over but family comes first you showed that and with family determination you can do anything. I recommend the series of books to action readers for they will be hooked and glued to the end. The books were hard to put down and stop reading so be prepared. I can only say that thanks to your books iy brought joy to the nights that I could not sleep. I will read other books but you and hope to be entertaining and these. Anyone reading these please read a few pages before you so no. For I hope you will like this series as much as I have.

Excellent series

This was the first "prepper", or post-apocalyptic series I started and I waited with bated breath for each book to come out. Now that it's over I'm sad... Dr Bradley did an incredible job creating fun and unique characters and storylines in each installment. Interspersed throughout the story are real-life tips and tricks for urban survival, recommendations for equipment, and other useful tidbits. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you like a book that will make you laugh, cry, sometimes think, but mostly just entertain the hell out of you! I hope Dr Bradley plans to write more fiction, as he has a lifelong fan in me.

The Survivalist Series

5 stars for a story that has kept me and several friends and family members entertained for well over 2 years! Mr.Bradley has a unique ability to weave humor and hope into seemingly hopeless situations. The characters are superb, believable, and quick with a gun or a joke, whichever the situation calls for! By far the most "upbeat" post apocalyptic novels I have read. The series was especially enjoyable to me as I am more than familiar with Boone, NC , Roanoke, Va, D.C. and most points in between which is where a lot of the story takes place. But you certainly don't have to be to enjoy the story. The best indicator of a truly classic story is, "I hate to see it end!" Get these books! You won't be disappointed!

The Survivalist book series is an amazing read!

These stories gripped me from the first page. This story is at once the most fanciful and yet most realistic of apocalyptic tales. The main characters are a delight and have the courage and determined fortitude we all wish we could have. Each character in their own way embody and present a unique part of the human condition. From shear evil, gluttonous despotism, through complacent dependency though courage and love in the face absolute impossible odds... They run the gamut of humanity showing our true nature all the way. And all through the tale, our heroes are NOT supermen. They are exceptional (each in their own way); but, they are just people. This story, in my mind was an epic. As surely so as any told throughout our history. Mr. Bradley might humbly deny this. But, this judgment is not his to make, it is ours. Read this story from start to finish and judge for yourself. - Cory Stone, retired director of the Gene Roddenberry Planetarium in El Paso, Texas... I used to explain the Universe to all who would come to listen. Now, I sit on a Florida beach and read epic tales... Thank you Mr. Bradley!

A Real Page Turner

Couldn't wait for book #12 and it didn't disappoint...except that the story might be over. I hope there might be more stories from Tanner and Sam and Mason and Bowie. We've travelled together this long... This might be Book #12 but if you haven't read any of these books, you really should pick up the series. Informational and a good read. You're always waiting for what's next.

One of the best series of books I've ever read!

I'm very sad that this is the last book in a 12 book series. Arthur Bradley the writer of The Survivalist is a great writer of one of greatest series sence the first Survivalist series I read back in 1980. I loved reading about all the characters in this series, so my heart is sad that book 12 the last of the series is over with. Road home ended the series well, it left me in a peaceful place the everyone made it home one way or another. Buy the series and read it, you will not regret spending the money on the series.

Enjoyed the whole series

Just a great escapist adventure in apocalyptic sci-fi. The characters are stock, but the ways in which they were fleshed out gave them humanity. Love ‘em or hate ‘em, I cared about them. The plot was very inventive and the action was exciting. It took a long time to get to the end, but I was always checking in for the next installment. That’s my best recommendation.

Continuing saga

I thought it was a well written story that showed how we as a species can be violent as well as loving and caring. Although the story ends I think there is an opportunity for you Arthur to start a new series with an adult Sam and Rowan as the new generation of survivors and maybe bring in Mason and his family too. With society slowly growing and evolving there is potential for them to have a great adventure

An excellent ending to an excellent series! I am going to miss them!

Survivalist # 12 was excellent & I know it's the last of the series, but Mr. Bradley if at anytime in the future you wish to start it up again or print special edition's as long as I'm alive I will buy them. Thank you mr. Bradley and reading your stories always put my in a better frame of mind before going to sleep.. sincerely

Bad guys are more like monsters, but still get their fill of justice.

I have read all of the books in this series and this story was right near the top. Even though some of the bad guys are now pretty outrageous and more like "monsters" that is also one of the underlying themes of the story. There is also plenty of action and bad guys getting their justice. Last it was nice to see the main characters getting to a point where they might be able to settle down to live a life with their loved ones. I hope that this is not the last in this series which would be truly disappointing. I'm sure something will disrupt each of these characters future.

An incredible series ends

I have to say that the main characters of this series are my all time favorites! Including Bowie, the wolfhound. Tanner and Samantha could always make me smile, even though their adventures were perilous. And Mason; a real protector of truth and justice, a man of honor, and a true gentleman of romance. I’m really bummed the series has ended, but I plan on listening to every book now. Thank you Arthur Bradley for taking me on such an incredible ride!

Book number 12 of a 12 book pandemic apocalypse series

Book number 12 of a 12 book pandemic apocalypse series. I read the well printed and bound POD (print on demand) trade paperback. This is probably the end of the series so I will not be purchasing any more books in the series. The pandemic was global, virulent, and man-made. 80% of the worlds population died in a month. 10% of the population were unaffected. The other 10% were horribly mutated by the virus. In the year since the pandemic, many things have happened. This is their story.

Loved it!

Such appropriate books for our times. Violence, insanity, and love filled the pages. Loved the main characters, and all their trials and tribulations they went thru to make the world, as it was, a more normal place. I read the first 11 books before the 12th one was released. So I reread the 11, and then the new 12th book. Very satisfying ending. I'll probably read them again some day.

A very good series I really enjoyed, good characters and entertaining action.

I looked forward to reading every book in this series. I even stopped reading another book upon the release of the last two books and dived into each imediately upon receiving them. This is the last book with these characters, but I hope that Mr Bradley will change his mind and there will be more in the future.

Great conclusion to a great series.

Loved it all. The importance of family is woven through all of the adventures and is not lost in the incredible events that captures the reader’s involvement with the story line. Mr Bradley is not just a good writer, he is gifted. I can now relax some knowing that all my friends and family are safe and back home.

A satisfying if bittersweet conclusion to a wonderful series.

While the story felt as though it was rushing towards its conclusion, a lot of that was my own unwillingness to see it end. Without providing spoilers the ending was open enough to allow your mind to drift off imagining the adventures still in store for the protagonists without feeling cheated.

MORE please

Just finished 1 o'clock in the morning , it has been the a pleasure resding the last 12 books in the series ! I wish there were more ! The characters were great ,loved Tanner and Samantha ! Bittersweet

I was very excited to read this book but at the same time I am very saddened to know the series has ended. I have been enjoying this series and the characters for many years now and I almost feel as I have met them in real life and just had to say a final goodbye. I recommend all 12 books to anyone who gives it a chance regardless of the genre you enjoy because you will find a little bit of everything in these books from comedy to action to sci-fi to survival techniques and knowledge. Thank you Mr. Bradley for the years of enjoyment I have received.

Great Story Line,Great Series

I really liked this book and the series. As I finished one book in the series I was thinking about the next book in the series. You can imagine how I felt when I got to the end of book 12, and was informed that the series was at its end. Would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a series that you can’t put down

I love this book series!

I have read 12 books in this series and thoroughly enjoyed each one. The characters come to life and I have been known to not be able to put the books down because I am in the middle of heart thumping action parts of the book. If you want to read a really fun post apocalyptic action book series, this book is for you.

Wonderful Series

A few years ago I came across this series and so glad I decided to read the first of many. My son and I have enjoyed it immensely. Hope an Audible version voiced by John David Farrell is also released for book 12 as we typically listened to them. Thank you Authur Bradley for the wonderful gift of a completed and entertaining series -- to all that have or will read it I hope you find it as great as we have.

Brilliantly written!!

I've enjoyed this series so much I've been waiting to read this last installment because I didn't want it to end. The way The characters develop in this series is truly incredible. I especially related to Tanner because he could be so tough and ruthless but he couldn't hide his love for his adoptive daughter. I also enjoyed his son Marshal Raines who is caught many times deciding between right and wrong when the easy path would be the wrong thing ( I wish I was that guy ) I could go on forever why this series is so good but I'll let you find out for yourself. One final thought if your undecided about giving it a try. If you like the works of Stephan King or Dean Koontz you will love this. YES its that well written!!

#1 Post Apocalyptic Stories

Ok, this book is beyond phenomenal. Although I am happy to see the progression of the story, I am sad to see it end. I have anxiously awaited each new story as I have followed it for years. This book ends the series and it was the best one yet. I sincerely look drowned to what Mr. Bradley starts on next.

Extremely Entertaining read.

One of my favorite series. Great story telling and superb character development. I hate seeing this series come to the end, but Arthur Bradley did a fine job of dotting all the eyes and crossing all the tees. Young Samantha was entertaining to say the least. Also the author's quirky use of unconventional fire arms gave me a pause, but i expect that was intentional. I hope we see young Samantha as an adult in a new series someday.

He saved the best for last.

The survivalist series was an amazing journey for me. While I am sad it has come to a close, I can definitely say that this was my favorite of the series. If you enjoy post apocalyptic fiction and good stories, you don't want to miss out on this series.

Survivalist series

I was looking for something to read and this series caught my eye. The characters have become loved friends. It has been an experience to read this while in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic. All books should teach us something. This series taught me we are so lucky, because as bad as this is it could have been so much worse. God help us to learn to love and respect each other, so maybe we will do better on the next one Thank for the splendid evevins

Helluva Ride

After reading all twelve books I have mixed feelings. It was an AMAZING adventure! Plenty of tidbits that are "real life" useful, mixed with fantastic characters, and incredible problems to solve. You couldn't ask for a better journey to spend your time and money on. That being said, I hate to see it end... Even with it being wrapped up well enough, I feel like my best friends moved out of state. Good luck! I wish we could keep it going, but I understand. Y'all deserve to rest. It was a helluva ride while it lasted.

Road Home (The Survivalist Book 12)

The most entertaining part of this series is the way, the Marshal can fight so many men at one time. I thought we lost him this time. Tanner and Sam were a fantastic team. I just wish I knew someone like these characters in real life.

a good closure

I did enjoy the books. some things got a little OUT OF THIS WORLD. But the book was enjoyable to read and was not to toooo serious - a good closure to the long story. I hope to read some more works by this author. I am an outdoors person (spend well over 25% of all my time in the woods), pro gun, pro carrying your own weight, and always ready for the what if. All the books agreed with me well.

I can't believe it's over.

I really can't believe that this saga is over. Mason, Tanner Samantha and Issa have a direct line to my heart and following along in their adventures has been a treat and a joy I am certain you will love. BUY THIS BOOK!!!

Thanks for the ride.

As with any good series I find myself always wanting for more. Not being an author I can only imagine the effort to keep a reader constantly enthralled. I can only wish the best for all the characters as if they were living. I guess I can only wish the best for the author and hope he continues his quest. This story has a certain significance with the current state of the world and I can only hope that good triumphs over evil as in the pages of these books. It has a been a wonderful, fun, and exciting use of my limited free time and I can't thank you enough.

A great series

I've read about 500 post apocalyptic novels and author Bradley is among the best. His stories are easily read and bring the main characters to life as old friends. Excellent attention to detail. Highly recommended.

Loved this series

A great wrap up to an enjoyable series. Wonderful tale of adventure and danger with a wonderful sprinkling of family love. Thanks Arthur for opportunity to experience this exciting world with its colorful characters.

A good series

Well, I read all 12 books, essentially one right after the other. All told I found the series to be good, although not very realistic. The author did an okay job with his preppier information, although there were some errors, but for the life of me I can’t remember what they were, I knew I should have written them down. Anyway, read the series.

Great read from a survivalist.

Another great read. I have read the entire series and the first 10 books twice. Read this entire book yesterday. Couldn’t put it down. I only hope Arther starts another series.

Amazing read ..from book one to book 12 i anticipated every new book

Ahh dang. It's over. How I loved hanging out with these characters for so long! Feel free to write more years later! I'd love to see how they're getting along in a post-apocalyptic world. Thank you so much for writing this and keeping me entertained for so long!

Thoroughly enjoyable

Just finished reading this book, the last of a series I have been reading over the past few years. Very engaging characters and nice wrap up to the story. Thank you.

Fantastic Series!

Rare that a series of a dozen books can keep the storylines fresh and coherent. Arthur Bradley does a fantastic job of telling the stories of Bowie, Mason, Sam and Tanner.

Sad it is over

This was such a great series love the characters including Mason’s faithful friend by his side. This book does a great job wrapping up the series. Very bummed that it’s over though.

Grabs you from the start and won't let go.

I have just finished the 12th book in the series. It was a very satisfying experience. I find myself satisfied with the ending, and also sad it's over. Your stories should be made into a movie or TV series. I have throughly enjoyed these books and recommended them to everyone I know. This journey was amazing. These books grab you from the beginning and make you beng read them. Thanks for your wonderful talent and imagination.

And the series finale....

The players were great as always, Marshall Mason Raines standing up for the underdog and ending up having to get Law enforcement back on track in Clover after their jaunt down Greed Alley. Tanner and Sam go through their share of hassles and still make it back to Issa and head on home. Just a real Adventure!

FUN

Fun, exciting, great character banter, will probably read it all again just for the fun of it. Think spaghetti western meets the apocalyptic genre.

Spectacular

I totally fell in love with all the characters and their adventures. It let's us go to places where we forget the world that we live. Greatest story.

Wow,just wow...

My hubby passed me the first book when he had finished it. We fell in love with series and have enjoyed every single book. While we are a little sad it has come to its end, we both agree it ended perfectly. Thanks so much Mr. Bradley!

Great read

I enjoyed the character Samantha and the bookkeeping you suspended waiting to see what's going to happen. I really enjoyed this book and suggest you read the whole series.

Outstanding and entertaining series

The author tells a consistent and story of the trials of the characters through their adventures. The series keeps you anxiously anticipating the next book.

Amazing!

I don’t even know how to describe this series. The adventures keep the pages turning as quickly as the Supergrade’s bullets. The use of cultural references to “name” adversaries and passing characters is great. And the main characters are people you want to know. Finishing this series is like saying goodbye to friend.

Bittersweet

A great ending to an amazing series. I've been hooked since book #1. Thank you Arthur Bradley. I can't wait to read what you write next.

Great series

This was the best apocalyptic series I’ve read so far, and I’ve read a lot. I fell in love with the characters, especially Tanner and samatha, they were so good together!! Great books, I’m sorry it’s over. Thank you for a great read!

Awesome Series

I loved the characters in this book series. They were about as real , as real can get. I especially liked all of the survival items that were used to help the characters stay safe, healthy and alive. I learned several medical, improvised food, and survival ideas to help in many different situations. I have read multiple books from this author and found them very useful for the family to stay safe in different kinds of disasters.

Wonderful series

This book was great and a great addition to the series. This has been one of my favorites, cannot go wrong with this series.

Amazing series

The Survivalist series have been some of the best books I've read - both individually and collectively. They are full of valuable information while being equally full of entertainment. Rarely does a series end with each book being as enjoyable as the next. There was not a bad one in the bunch.

What a ride!

Another great book, in the series and in general. I am sad to think this will be the last time I get to visit these characters in new adventures, but they have earned a break after all they have gone through. I hope one day to read about how life has changed (or not) for the families.

Excellent

I've read all of the survival books he has written and I've not been disappointed at all I love all the characters in the books. The only thing that I haven't figured out is why nobody has made this series a movie or series yet?

Exciting

I enjoyed this series very much. I couldn't put it down. Loved the main characters and their adventures, also the happy ending

Enjoyable read

I enjoyed this series. It was filled with adventures, fun, humorous and a family first approach. I would recommend this as a must read. You won't be able to put it down...I couldn't!! Thanks Mr. Bradley!

Sad that it's over.

It was so very worth my time. The characters are real and human, the story well told and riveting. Thank you Mr Bradley, I enjoyed every minute.

Late coming

I actually finished this book a while ago and it was GREAT! This series won't disappoint. Nothing more needs to be said.

Excellent read

Thank you for this great story. It was so engrossing that I couldn’t put it down. I loved the characters and the plot. I felt like I was right there in the story many times. Please keep writing.

Nooooooo

Absolutely loved this series and hate having it come to an end but this final volume was unfortunately just terrible. Got the impression it was written just to put the series to an end and move on. The tempo was off, the characters were off such a sad demise to an otherwise terrific series.

Great ending to a really great story.

Just finished the last book, #12 in the survivalist series. It was pretty good. In my opinion ,Dr. Arthur Bradley left a tiny tiny loophole in the end for future books if decided to continue the story.

Outstanding

What a great ending to an awesome story. Dr. Bradley lures you in to where it feels.like you are actually there along with the characters. Well done.

Great read

Excellent characters and a great adventure, if you enjoy the classic hero and villain story you can not go wrong with this series.

Survivalist book reiew

I have read the entire series have looked for every new book to come out it is a joy to read Your books I have all of your others as well. I Can't wait for you to start your next series Thanks for all the work you put into it Charlie

Strong end to interesting and unique series

Solid series! Very unique combination of western, post apocalyptic, and redemption stories. Great vacation read on Kindle. I recommend this book, and series.

Great series of 12 book !

I’ve enjoyed reading all 12 books of the Survivalist series and would recommend them to anyone who enjoys post apocalyptic adventure novels. You will be entertained! Great characters and a great storyline.

Read all 12 in two weeks

Great story, well written, lots of great survival tips. Lots of heroes and villains. Many lessons taught and learned. Great read!

Unknowing education!

I was addicted to this series! I learned so much about survival while also being entertained by the depths of the story. Who would have ever guessed that we would be using some of this knowledge one day. Thank you for writing this story of survival... Of never giving up and always searching for the light at the end of the tunnel!

A fascinating 12 book journey

I rarely give a 5 star rating. I was fascinated with relationship between Sam and Tanner, an escaped felon and the President's daughter. Well written with the right amount of intrigue and humor, I read all twelve books. I was sad to read their last chapter.

Sad to see this end

I've been with this series from the beginning and I have to say that this book doesn't disappoint. The author does leave a little wiggle room for a return (and honestly I hope he continues writing these characters) but if this is the end, it's quite fitting. It sums up the characters story arcs quite nicely. A fitting end to a wonderful series.

Great Series

Great book and a fantastic series. I’ve enjoyed reading all of them. Please give the series a try, you’ll be very happy with it

A great book to end a great series

The only negative thing I can write about this book is there will not be another one following. This series had everything, it was humorous, adventurous, full of suspense and meaning. This is one of the best series I have ever read.

Family is all

Well this series ends with Mason and Bowie making their way back to Jessie along with a shiny present. Tanner and Samantha bring their own surprise to Mount Weather and are surprised in turn by Issa and Mother and a new arrival. All ends well with each family reunited. Good reading.

Read all but went from what could happen to fantasy

I was really into the story line but then the line was crossed with bizarre creatures and then into even way too far out. In the begining had some great prepper ideas. Would not have paid for whole series if i had known

Mission complete

After reading the entire series I can say that I was never disappointed. There was always a good mix of excitement and adventure. I was always excited to see that the next book was available. Job well done, Arthur.

Great Series

A great read. Good story, great characters and a satisfying ending. Well written only a little over the top with the science.

A good ending

This book wrapped the series up with a nice bow on top. So it say I need eight more words .

Great ending...

Although I wish this series would continue it ended nicely. I would like to see a spin off of just mason and the farm, along with a solo one for Tanner.

Fun reads

Purchased all 12 of the series. Loved the multiple story lines. Good afternoon reading. Loved the hound, Sam was a hoot.

Wow

Wow Iv read all the book in the series and enjoyed it very well. Just learning to read with a few years behind me this book kept me glued to the pages. Well written and not over Lost in details. I deathly recommend this book in the ending was awesome. Oh I got to say is thank you and it's a must read.

Great series!

When I started reading this series, I was not sure what to expect? After finishing the 12 book in the series, I am not sure what I am going to read next? Thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Sam, Mason, Bowie, Tanner and Issa. Great characters and really entertaining series. Thank you Arthur for all of your hard work and I look forward to reading more of your books in the future!

Best read ever

I loved all the characters and the storyline so much, I have waited inpatiently for the next book to come out. I love all your books and can’t wait to see what you come up with next. Thank you, Marie

Awesome ending

Was sadly looking forward to the conclusion of this series of stories. Bradley did an amazing job of wrapping up storylines with zeal! Nicely done sir.

Just finished the series

Sad to say I just finished the last book and am looking forward to starting " The watch man" as I've said before I recommend this series to everyone that loves a great story

It was a great ride, sorry to see it end.

The series pulled me in at the very start of book 1. While there is a lot of action, the stories are clever and full of so much information. The characters were really developed as the books progressed while dealing with a world in the process of change. While I wish the ending would have had a few more books leading up to the conclusion, I get that no good story can continue without risking becoming repetitive. I can only hope we may see a book or two racist them again someday.

With a pandemic at hand......

Let's hope this is not a reality! Was a great series with great characters and imagination! My thanks to the author

Love

Loved this series. I wish there could be more.

Great book

Great book well written and a great series!

End Of Great Series

I've read all 12 books and enjoyed them all. Great characters and lots of action. Sad to see it end but boy what wonderful experience!

Great series!.

Mason Raines is the kind of person we all hope we would be when push comes to shove. Page turner and exciting from from to back. We will miss him and Bowie!

Great Series

Most interesting characters and story line. Family theme through out the books. Looking out for one another and what is the best decisions made to ensure your survival .

Great closing of this series.

I have enjoyed reading the series. The story is interesting and makes one think of preparing oneself and family to stand together regardless of the reason. I do recommend reading the series.

Best read

This is undoubtedly one of the best series. Loved each and everyone of them. Tanner, Reed, Issa, and Samantha were the heroes of the series. Thank you Mr Bradley.

Great Ending!!!

I loved book 12 and it was an amazing end to the series and I cannot wait to see what Arthur Bradley writes next.

Good series!!

This is a good fast moving series. Keeps you guessing at what will happen next. Great characters and blend well with the story.

Wonderful Series

This was just a very entertaining series. Never have I followed a twelve book series but this one kept me waiting for the next. There was fantasy, scary, love, hate and all things in between . I think anyone would enjoy reading these.

Sad to see it go

Great overall series with likable characters. What I don’t like is that this is end of the series. Nice job tying up loose threads, though.

A Story With Heart

These books have been a great pleasure to read. I am sorry to see them end but all good things do. If you want action, good story telling and a surprising amount of laughs then The Suvivalist is the place to be.

Excellent series - very underrated!

I love this series, every time I start reading I can't stop!

One of my favorite survival series

This has been one of my favorite series to read. Great characters, great story and was fun to progress with the story line

Awesome series!

I like the way it was all wrapped up. Great heroes, great characters. Can’t wait to see what Bradley comes up with next!

A very worthwhile journey.

Once again Arthur Bradley did not disappoint. This entire series was one of the best experiences I have had the pleasure to read. Well researched and written. Looking forward to seeing additional work from Arthur Bradley.

Very good read

I have read all twelve of this series and enjoyed each book.I hope you enjoy them as well as I did.

I cant believe its ended

Love this series good read fasr read never able to put it down when I start it sorry its ended. Hoping for a new series soon

Great read

Loved the series. All good things must come to an end though.

Sad its over

I loved this series from start to finish but feel like this last book (although great) was hurried and short. A teensy bit disappointed in that aspect.

Great read

The book moved along fast and the author has a witty sense of humor written into the dialog. Good se.ies

Excellent series.

Excellent series. Going to miss these characters. Can not t wait to see what Arthur Bradley does in his next book.

Thank you

Dr. Bradley, I just finished book 12 and just wanted to say thank you for a wonderful and entertaining series. I love the fact that of the primary characters they each have some good and bad in them but the sense of family is overwhelming. Thanks again, Bill and Nancy

Great

Really good series, sad to see it end, but glad it ended well. Great job!! Will miss Sam, Tanner, and families. But hope there maybe future books on Sam, and Rowan.

Love this Series

Loved the story and characters Hate that it has ended Could expand on a few of the characters in the books Or do a book 15 years from the end

Great books

I read all 12 series and I enjoyed every one it goes to show you that the world that's the way it is could be can you need to survive I hope there is other books that you can come up with that I would like. Thank you Frank . veteran USN

Must read for preppers.

For fans of post-apocalyptic survival stories, this is a must read. I am saddened that book 12 ends the journeys of Mason, Bowie, Sam, Tanner and Issa. Great characters and storytelling. Arthur, thank you.

Great Series

I have really enjoyed this series. I would have to wait until the next one came out. It was a good ending for the series.

A grand finale!

Mason & Bowie and Tanner & Samantha struggle against insurmountable odds to return to their respective loved ones. Will they succeed?

Solid read

A good ending to the series. Worth the read time. Sadly the series ends, but it was a worthy ending.

Great series!

If this is the end ,I surely hope he comes up with a new series that will compare to this one.

Wonderful journey!

Superb characters woven into a riveting story. I couldn’t put any of them down once I had started the first book. Highly recommended.

Excellent series

I have read many survivor/ shtf books and this is my very favorite series! I'm sorry to see it end. I hope the author starts another similar series!

Great Series. I have read the series at least 3 times

Very interesting and fun series. Held my attention with each book.

Well done sir.

This has been one of the most enjoyed survivalist series i have read. . :) I'm also happy he ended it when/how he did. a++

A great read.

I couldn't put them down. I can't pick a favorite. This is one of many series I have read and by far one of my favorite.

Great read.

This series is a great read. I didn't want to put the books down. Lots of action and adventure. Great characters.

The Survivalist Series

Written by Dr. Arthur Bradley, this was a very enjoyable post-apocalyptic series with lots of action, love and adventures. I sure hope he starts another series right away....great author.

Great series

Having purchased all this series I think this is the best of the genre. Definitely keeps you on your toes, never know what's coming next.

WOW

Mr. Bradley you 've done it again! A very well written story that absolutely entertains. Thank you. Looking forward to more.

Sad to see this series come to an end

Loved this series of books it was full of action with lots of twist and turns. The characters were great and the way it was written it was hard to put down

Series

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this entire series. It was very easy to get lost in the adventures and well as get to know the characters.

Wow

This was an amazing series. My dad showed them to me and I got hooked. I just finished the series for the second time. Great job all around. A must read.

Survivalist

I just finished the 12th book and really enjoyed this series. The characters were extremely well developed. The plot is almost too believable today. I have given it the highest complement, I have re read it. Only once, so far.

Well done Mr. Bradley

Great wrap to this series

Pages falling out

The book is falling apart. The pages are falling out!

Great book !

This book was great. I have loved the entire series. I know all good things must end but dang I don't want it to.

Great series/story/characters

I love this series!

👏👐 very enjoyable, exciting and funny at times

Great series! I'm going to miss the characters from the books. Love how the author ended the series...I feel very satisfied

nice ending to the series

I enjoyed the entire series

Great series

Read all the books in this series, usually during lunch at work. While I waited for the next to come out, I would read other books, apocalyptic, dystopian etc. This I can say is one of the few series where I never got sleepy reading.

Great Read

A great nod to an exciting series!!

A fun ride

One of the most enjoyable book series I have ever read. His style of writing was simple but complex. I loved all the characters, even the horrible ones, and how they made you feel like they were real. Don’t stop writing. Love it!!!

Great read

It took me some time to read the entire series, well worth the time spent. I have read many post apocalyptic books, this series is one of the best I've read.

Great book

This was a delightful series. If you enjoy apocalyptic stories with realistic characters, this is the best I have read. I look forward to future books by this talented author!

Excellent conclusion to a fun series

A very fun read

Superb post apocalyptic writing!

Read all 12 books! Followed all his characters through all their exciting adventures, emotions, and trials. Wish this was a movie it would be excellent!!

These books won't let you put them down

Great series! Started the 12 book series in October and just finished the last book! Would recommend highly to anyone looking for a adventure story.

Great series!

Love this series wish it wasn't the last book.

Great series

Enjoyed the whole adventure. Too bad that it had to end. I hope you continue writing something in the futune.

Great series

Great series,it’s to bad that it’s ended. I’m looking forward to a new series Read the series you will enjoy it

Great series

A great end to a great series. I will miss it. However, I have loved the journey and the characters.

A great series

I thought was a well written book. Good and relatable characters.

All good things come to an end!

This review is for the e-book series and not just one stand-alone book. The overall plot, characters, scenes and chronological events are done very well by the author; however, I wish the books were longer than just 200 pages per book. Each book in the series could have been 300 pages per book and completed in eight books. I truly enjoy this author’s style of writing when it comes to “The Survivalist” series. The author does an excellent at developing his characters both main and side characters. The characters will be appropriately develop for the reader to either root for their success or prey for their slow but painful death. Side characters have a way of slipping into the story either as filler or later on becoming a main character and the reader is always left guessing. The story plots are always suspenseful and usually have at least a few twists and turns to keep us guessing what’s going to happen next. The author attempts to link the reader to the father and son, although on two different paths, their successes and tragedies within their own journeys and he does a really great job at creating an emotional link with certain characters. If you skip a book or two in the series you will be a little confused and asking questions; therefore, I suggest you read the series in order.

Sad to see it end, but happy to have been along for the ride.

With “Road Home” Dr. Bradley brings the Survivalist to a conclusion. Having read several of the outstandingly written reviews, I feel ill equipped to rise to that level. Many have said they read the whole book swiftly, but I went slower in this one, delaying the inevitable end. Therefore, let me just mention a few things that stood out for me. My main question going into this final volume was the tying up up of loose ends, and Dr. Bradley does an admirable job of doing just that. There are references to old characters and situations in this final narrative, as the story progresses to the end. I love that the gold was retrieved from the lake! With eleven prior volumes it’s tough to cover all questions, like the status of the colony and its future with Mt. Weather. But sometimes it’s better to let the reader ponder such questions. In any event, as with the previous volumes, character development is good, the action is intense, and there’s always some practical survival wisdom to digest. It’s been a pleasure, thank you Dr. Bradley.

Another fine job.

A great job of wrapping up the main characters in this latest (I hate to say final) book in this series. Or is it? Dr. Bradley, you have done a wonderful job in creating a great place in the series to "pause" the characters, of course who is to say they remain so? Might there be some calamity in the future that requires them to hit the "road" again? You have done a great job sir, and deserve a rest, but.... just sayin'. Have immensely enjoyed the series, having read them all but the last twice already. I'll keep watching on your site "disasterpreparer.com". Have a great day and enjoy a break.

Truly enjoyable!

Just finished the final book in the Survivalist series. I really enjoyed the story line from start to finish. I am kind of bummed out that book 12 was the end of the series. However, I understand why Mr. Bradley ended it. He explains at the end of book 12. I will definitely search out other books he has written and start a new quest of reading other books that he has authored. I wish him the best...

Highly recommend, crate for any age!

I will never be able to say enough good about this series. I have read the entire series three times now. Very very exciting, informative, fun, intense at times, exceptional characters! I very much appreciate this author in this series. I would recommend it to anyone of any age. It is a real page-turner!

Compelling!

This series truly pulls you in and makes you feel like you personally know the characters. Not sure how to deal with not knowing their future, but I also feel that Arthur will not be able to leave them alone, and we will see them again. I hope, anyways.

Best yet

This one wraps up the survivalist tale of Mason US Marshall & his Father Tanner, ex-con. Though out the series you meet various monsters and regular people learning to survive in a nightmarish world. Characters grow beyond existence, beginning their lives anew.

I see what you did there.

I read this whole series. I have them displayed in my living room. I loan them out to friends from time to time. It was such a good overall story and this last book did a good job adding some closure.

Great series, excellent grand finale!

The entire Survivalist was lots of fun with wonderful developed characters, all unique and quirky in their own way. Also, quite the supporting cast throughout the series. All were excellent reads, #12 was one of the best!

A Great Series

"The Road Home" tied up all the loose ends. It was a great ending to the series!

Excellent series

Read the entire series on the recommendation of my husband. Enjoyed it very much...the writing brought the story to life. I have to add, the humor was a nice surprise! Enjoy!

Product Review

Well, this is the last book of the series. I have enjoyed each and every adventure countered by the characters. I really recommend this series. It's very entertaining, plenty of action, coping, survival, violence, losses, sadness and moments where the characters are able to breath. It gives a perfect image of the will to survive.

Road Home, Hit Home

Wow! Absolutely a great story. Especially if you know or live around the Cincinnati tri-state area. How refreshing of an ending to this one. Can't wait for the next great read.

Thank you for the Survivalist Series

The Survivalist Series of books Well I think I have to thank you for such a compelling series. As an exservice man I can understand how the people in the books behaved with the problems before them and I hope if this came to pass, that I could be as fourthright as they are if I survived a pandemic. Once again thank you for your books.

Sad it reached an end

My only complaint would be that the last part of the book felt like a rush to end the series and tie up loose ends, but maybe I’m just sad it had to end! Fun and well written, really holds your attention over 12 books

Very disappointing, very short story with no questions answered.

I’ve read the whole series of these books. But very disappointed with this last one. It was very short and just left you hanging with none of depth of plot as in earlier novels. It seem’s the author has just published a short gap filler to make some extra cash without putting a lot of thought into the value for money.

Sorry

Sorry that the journey is over, ive laughed and cried with the story. Loved and hated characters but mostly thoroughly enjoyed every book. Will be looking for more books by this author.

Love 5*

What a great way to end. I loved these books. It always had me on edge. Id read one journey get right into it then it stops and starts with another journey then get right into that one. It would always bug me only because i was so into that journey, it would all come together eventually and it always did. Thank you for writing these books.

Time very well spent!

I loved this series. I'm not going to tye out any spoilers or anything of that ilk. I just wanted to take the time to thank the author for the rich characters, the great story telling and the chance he gave me to disappear into a different world for a while. Fantastic!

Tanner is one of my all time favourite characters

Didn't disappoint loved it. Truly sorry its over. Tanner is a legend amongst characters.

Best series I have read

This is the best series I have read it has had me laughing eager to turn every page and has been a joy to read. The charters are all original and unique. If your thinking of starring this series stop thinking and do it you will not regret one bit

Loves this series

I've read the entire survivalist series. Couldn't put the books down. Gripping story and characters. Wish it didn't end! Fab read

The whole series has been a fantastic read, intelligent, well researched and captivating.

Sad it all came to an end, thanks Arthur what a great read. Well done , I will definitely be reading more of Arthur s work
