Everyone, everyone, look unto me! I posses the Ultimate Fan Guide! I have seen the wondrous pages, and you will envy me, as though I were a victorious red and not a dirty blue! I regret nothing about buying this book, for I have purchased a guide which few fans have dared to buy! My fanatic quest is over. I can read Caboose's wisdom. It's so... stupid. This is the best ultimate fan guide... of all time.
It Helps When There Are Pictures!
Red vs. Blue started back in 2003. In the Dark Ages before YouTube made uploading easy and viral videos spawned overnight. So when they started Red vs. Blue they had to create their own servers and went viral the old-fashioned way, by word-of-mouth. Television shows and series in general seem to follow a pattern. The show will start out with complex and varied characters. If the show goes on long enough those characters devolve into one-note characters whose entire personalities are defined by one quirk. Red vs. Blue defied this trend by starting out with goofy characters that could easily have stayed stuck in their one-trait ruts. Rooster Teeth evolved their characters and story lines to create a complex and rich universe. They went from four guys in a room (bow chicka bow wow) to holding their own conventions (RTX) and expanding their body of work to include another hit show, RWBY. Red vs. Blue also holds the honor of being the longest running American Sci-Fi series. Another thing I find interesting is that Halo and Red vs. Blue co-exist peacefully together. There have been no lawsuits over Rooster Teeth using Halo's property. In fact, there are some Red vs. Blue easter eggs hidden in some of the Halo games. You're not here to hear me ramble about Red vs. Blue the series (which I could happily do all day), you're here to read a review of the Red vs. Blue Fan Guide. I could have wished for a bit more in-depth bios on the characters. especially the Freelancers. However, the Freelancers are somewhat of a mystery and I don't think that writers Burnie Burns (creator of Red vs. Blue) and Eddy Rivas wanted to take that away from the Freelancers. The rest of it is great. I love the asides from Delta, sometimes humorous and sometimes actual info on how they created particular scenes. Now knowing how they do some of them it impresses me that much more that they were able to do a new Red vs. Blue episode every week. I can also see why the weekly Red vs. Blue episodes are on the short side. I would recommend watching them as an entire season, the flow is much more smooth. The character chart is hilarious and so are the character focused tidbits at the back. Such as Simmons' text based video game: The Maroon Hero and Tucker's debriefing after the events at the dig site. The notes from the Chorus rebels are interesting and a little sad. I would have liked a segment from the Federation side as well, though. I also wouldn't have minded a bit more on Felix and Locus but since they were writing the book while doing season 13 I can see why they would want to keep them more of a mystery. The timeline is actually quite helpful since Red vs. Blue can be a little 'loopy' in their chronology. For fans of Red vs. Blue it's certainly worth a look. I would recommend getting the physical book. Not only is it a nice-looking book but it might be easier to read. I read it on the Kindle and I had to hold it side-ways to read it, which was a bit uncomfortable. The lettering is rather small on the e-book, even with the 'tap to-enlarge feature.
A must-have for the RvB fan - just make sure you've watched through S13 first!
Whether you've been a loyal follower of the Reds and Blues since the early days of Blood Gulch or you've only recently discovered the franchise, you're sure to enjoy this guidebook. Yes, most of the information about everyone's favorite hilariously incompetent space marines can be found at online wikis for free, but that's not the point. The point is that this book presents all of that (let's face it, often convoluted and confusing) information in a well-written, well-organized, and highly entertaining manner, while offering enough brand new material to keep readers from feeling ripped off. One giant warning: INSIDE THERE BE SPOILERS. I mean, this should be obvious from the "guidebook" title, I suppose, but from the very first pages, major series plot twists are revealed and discussed in depth without much fanfare, so if you haven't finished watching all 13 seasons of this amazing show yet, you might want to hold off on purchasing/opening this book, just to avoid ruining all the great surprises that are still in store for you. If I have one small complaint, it is that the book focuses heavily on the Freelancer and Chorus portions of the series while treating the Blood Gulch years as little more than background information. Don't get me wrong; I love the direction and scope the storyline took in the later seasons, but I would have appreciated more content devoted especially to the series' quirky, meandering beginnings. All in all, though, this book is a must have for any true RvB fan. Makes a great gift for the holidays!
Great book, be careful who you buy it from!
Great book! Love learning about the characters of RVB. The five stars are for the book itself. The rest of this review is for the seller Green Street Books. I was super excited to get this book! I've looked at it from a friend, and wanted one for myself, but I was a little sad when I opened the package. My book arrived with a sticker on the FRONT. It could have had it on the back by the barcode or something, but the reason why this is a big deal is because when I took the sticker off carefully, it peeled the book cover. This was super irritating and upsetting. This is a brand new book and it looks terrible. I am not happy. I looked closer at the book where the sticker was, and the paper (paperback book of course) looked wrinkled, as if they used the sticker to hide damage. This seller had great reviews, so I trusted to get a nice new book, but I guess next time I will not buy anything from this seller. I suggest to buy this book from Rooster Teeth's website or from Amazon itself. It may be more money, but it would probably arrive in better condition. I already gave some seller feedback, but DO NOT buy from Green Street Books.
Get it
If you love RvB this is your book! I still can't figure out where we discovered Someone was Someone Else's mother (You know what I'm saying if you have watched RvB a few times thru); it's not on the show except a vague reference to it when Epsilon Church says "You better be happy
A fun fan indulgence for RvB
Eddy Rivas did some brilliant work on this book, capturing memorable moments from the series up through Season 13, and giving us even more humorous tidbits and fun facts from so many favorite characters. I actually have turned my copy of the book into my way of collecting signatures at conventions from the folks who have worked on the series. If you don't buy it here on Amazon like I did, you can also buy direct from Rooster Teeth at store.roosterteeth.com alongside other RvB merch.
Not really complete
It's a great supplement, lots of stats and interesting tid-bits about RvB, but it only goes through Season 12. Season 13 is where the story ended.
Amazing well worth the money!
That being said there are some things that the book itself is missing, in the character dossier section there is no entry for Agent Florida/Butch Flowers, Junior, or any of the AI programs. I would have loved to have seen some information about Flowers and his decent from Freelancer, into the canyons at blood gulch. The lack of a profile for Junior also feels like a wasted opportunity. I also think that some additional information about the AI fragments would have been interesting to read about. Regardless the book is well put together that the lack of what is listed above doesn't distract from the book. Regardless the book provides and excellent inside look to the daily lives of our favorite characters and provides additional information about characters back stories which had been previously undisclosed (or not officially confirmed until this book). The insights provided are more then worth buying the book,. What adds to the value is the design and layout of the book and the pictures/illustrations are also fitting and add to the experience of the book in general. But in conclusion the book is great and definitely something every Red vs Blue fan should add to their collection!
Worth the money, trust me.
Hubby is a HUGE fan of Red vs. Bleu and all things Rooster Teeth. He blew through this book in two days as a good chunk of the information was something he'd already known based on being a fan of them for so long. He enjoyed it, and now it's part of his ever growing Rooster Teeth collection and he's happy as a clam because of it. No need to repurchase, but if anyone is a RT/RvB fan - this is a good little guide to have.
and anyone who loves the TV series will love this book
Didn't take long for me to start laughing out loud reading this alone. Rooster Teeth are comedic geniuses, and anyone who loves the TV series will love this book. I was hoping it would have a brief overview of the story, perhaps in chronological order, as the story can be pretty hard to follow at times, but other than that I loved this!

It's not as fun as you think
Meh.... I was hoping for more behind the scenes stuff. Maybe that was my expectation, but anyone who has watched the show already knows the majority of the content, and it really adds nothing new. The only worthwhile portion, in my opinion, is Wash's recruitment into Project Freelancer. But since it is NEVER discussed or even hinted on the show, it might as well be fanfiction. And yes, Simmons and Donut write their own fanfics in here. It's not as fun as you think.
Loved it
If you love Red vs Blue, this is definitely for you! I enjoyed reading through it before wrapping it up for a Christmas gift. Well worth it. Only thing that could make this better is being a hard cover book.
Perfect for the RVB fan in all of us.
Pre-ordered this months before it actually came out. Great if you're an RVB (or rooster teeth) fan. Perfect for a car ride or traveling as it takes you through all the seasons of RVB, the characters, their stories, all the variances of Church, and so much more. A great read and product in general.
RVB fans must-have book
The book is intense and full of surprises. Everything you want to know about the story is all in the book. The things that are unclear have been made clear like the personalities of the characters are also in the book. It is a good book and a must read for all RVB fans.
Great guide for hilarious show
The ultimate guide for our ultimate fan. Our son adores Rooster Teeth and this series. Looking for this guide on their site was tough but we found it on Amazon. He loves it. Help us though! We know know way to much about Red Vs Blue!!!
You Need This Book!
I love these characters; they are like family. I thoroughly enjoyed learning more about them and the universe in which they live. Thank you, Rooster Teeth, for taking my money and giving me something delightful in exchange. You are wonderful!

A must-have for fans of the series, this book ...
A must-have for fans of the series, this book gives plenty of background for the characters, and helps to fill in some of the inconsistencies that cropped up in BGC after the end of Season 6-10. Also gives a look at how the show is created, and how it came about. So while it is full of information that die-hard fans know, I believe that there is enough here to make it worth the price.
I am not cool.
Hilarious! I am a middle aged mom, so take my enthusiasm for Red V. Blue with a grain of snark, I know, I am not cool.
Love it
Great book in perfect condition
I think the content of the book is nice but the quality isn't
I gave this as a gift to someone. I think the content of the book is nice but the quality isn't. The book is very small and flimsy.
Great book for Red vs Blue fans
Son a big fan and we have watched a couple of marathons of the series. It is a good refresher present to remind you of the things that you love about the series, and some things you may not have known. It is a nice looking book and arrived super speedily. Thanks amazon

I got this as a gift for my boyfriend for Christmas and he loved it. In fact, I might steal it to read it myself when he isn't looking.
It is just like the show
I have supported Rooster Teeth for as long as I can remember. This book is hilarious and very insightful. It is just like the show.
RVB Fan Guide
I am a huge fan of RoosterTeeth and Red Vs Blue. This book gives a great look at some points that were not fully spelled out, gave some great weird character moments for the main cast of the show, and gave materials for people that have been fans since the inception of the show in 2003, or ones that have started watching more recently.
RvB: Behind the Scenes
If you are or ever were, a fan of RvB. You'll completely enjoy this behind the scenes look at the greatest web series ever, of all time.
"Memory is the key" and this book is the entire memory of rvb
AMAZING!!!! PERFECT FOR THE ULTIMATE RVB FAN! All the Intel you need from season 1-14 is all here! Psych profiles, history, quotes, case files, pieces of Intel not mentioned in the story... It's the best thing I've ever bought!
A fun read, with a few mistakes
This is a fun little supplement for the hardcore RvB fan; I particularly liked the dialogue chapter about how Washington joined Freelancer. That said, there are a few typos and other errors that could have been caught by a thorough proofread. I didn't go into the book looking for mistakes, but I found it rather jarring when they did pop up. I hope future printings include another edit so that the text can be perfect, as the show deserves.

The secrets revealed...Like Grif's sister's name
Almost essentially anything you want to know about the Red Vs Blue Universe that exists, will be found here. And I mean come on, who can resist Cabooses words of wisdom or a peek into Donut's Diary? Ok, that last one might be a scary prospect but nothing ventured and all that right?

I am a total Red Vs Blue fan and l love this book. It is very well organized, you can tell that it is written by the same people who wrote the scripts. I watch Red Vs Blue all the time and even this book has some information l had no knowledge of. This is a book that an RvB fan should definitely get!
What More Could You Ask For?
Extremely well-written history and guide of Red vs. Blue. Perfect for the hardcore to the casual fan. Mr. Rivas has compiled pretty much everything you would want to know about the series into a highly readable guide. Can't recommend enough.

Awesome but, watch out for damages when it first arrives. :)
This book is the perfect book for those who are fans of the web series Red vs Blue. When i received this book, it was in bad condition like it was a hand-me down book but a simple replacement got that issue fixed. I do wish it would come out in hardcover.

I'd love more of scrapped plans or character paths
I'd love more of scrapped plans or character paths, but this book is still worth the buy. It covered the all the characters you know and love.
Went Beyond Expectations!
Grand product, Fufilled me and went beyond expectations. Delivered quickly and neatly. Although the corners were frayed and some of the color on the book was scratched off it is a quality product.
Pre-order arrived the day it released!
My son loved this book.
Super Awesome
This is the best encyclopedia of the series from the oldest to the newest 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
Great
Great backstories to the characters of RvB we have all grown to know and love.
but it's good quality and stuff
Eddy Rivas understands the Reds and Blues and Chorusians perfectly. The Freelancers, not so much, but it's good quality and stuff.
Recommended for RvB fans

Great book, but not without its faults.
I found the Red vs. Blue: Ultimate Fan Guide to be a very entertaining book, great for fans who want to reflect and gain some new perspective on the series and what goes into its development. It has some great moments, but it also has its weak points. I should preface that overall, I really liked the book, but I'm going to talk about the issues. Many of those issues were found in some of the additional information that was included. The writer(s) wrote certain things for humor's sake without thinking of how well it would work on screen or maintain series continuity. ***SPOILERS*** For example, Agent Delaware was stationed at the same base Alpha was located at the beginning of season 6. The book stated that she died after setting off a grenade near a wall, resulting in the big hole seen on the map. It's a fun little tidbit, but I can't take this seriously. A freelancer doesn't just pull a Caboose and throw a grenade against a wall. Freelancers are freelancers for a reason, they're the best of the best. This demonstrated the opposite. Same thing for Agent Alabama. He died from his own recklessness by driving a mongoose off a cliff at Rat's Nest. A freelancer doesn't make those kinds of mistakes. If that were shown on screen, if a freelancer were to be driving on a mongoose and they flat out drove it off a cliff to their death, would you take that seriously. I wouldn't be satisfied. There was a side note that said that every year, the Reds and Blues stationed at Rat's Nest paid homage to Alabama by launching a mongoose on fire off the cliff. Really? Every year? According to the timeline, they made, the Red vs Bue war only lasted for about 2 years. Alabama would've had to have died during the first year and with the war ending at the end of the following year, they would only be able to perform that ritual once, not enough to warrant it being an annual event. The nature Alabama's death was likely inspired by the line from the song 'On Your Knees,' which describes the downfall of many freelancers. For Alabama, the line goes "Alabama, crash and burn..." So even though it's cool to reference the song, the extra information doesn't line up with what the audience was informed of in terms of the ability of a freelancer. Other backstories I really liked: Washington's introduction to Project Freelancer, Leonard Church meeting Allison, Tucker's debriefing after his time in the desert. These were all really cool. The writers just needed to think about how this would look on screen and how well it would've worked first. Overall I'd give the book a 4/5. Go buy it if you love Red vs. Blue. Just know that if you're very picky about the lore, you may find yourself raising an eyebrow every now and then.

The book was very enlightening and hailarious as well as amazing, although there were a few discrepancies.
do not buy this book
the hard cover book is great. I bought the kindle version because of some vision problems thought i could make it bigger. But it looks like all they did was scan the book into kindle format. do not wast your time
it was only natural that I would love this book
I had just started working at GameStop in the mall. A few short weeks later, Halo 2 launched on November 9th, 2004. It was my first midnight opening. The event was simply insane. Massive amounts of people and I was in the thick of it. Playing on the TV was an episode of Red vs Blue. This was my first time seeing it and I was hooked. I wasn't able to watch much of the episode since my time was taken up by the customers, but I told myself to watch the series as soon as I had the free time. And I did just that. I fell behind after season five of Red vs Blue. I can't say that I regret it, because just recently, I played catch up. I had the Red vs Blue blu-ray box set on my shelf for too long before I decided to watch it. Now that I am all caught up, I am eagerly awaiting the next season and beyond. This prompted me to get the book, The Red vs Blue: Ultimate Fan Guide. Since I do have a history with Red vs Blue, it was only natural that I would love this book! I recommend this guide to any Red vs Blue fan. The book does the series justice with every page. It talks about each character of Red vs Blue in hilarious detail. ((Red vs Blue is a machinima web series and intended for those 18 years and older brought to you by Rooster Teeth. Same goes for the book.))
this can be a great way to get a crash course into the show
It is exactly what you expect: a fact-book. For hardcore fans there isn't much new stuff other than the listed never before seen content and parts of the behind the scenes. Again hardcore fans that keep up with Rooster Teeth will have heard much of the behind the scene stuff from various panels and podcasts over the years. For new fans: this can be a great way to get a crash course into the show. Though you could just go to the RVB Wiki; then again the book is better written and more succinct. I take off one star due to some of the character dossiers being written in different tense despite everything being in the past at the time or publishing. Also for not having quite as much new content as I would have liked to see that would justify buying the book instead of going through the wiki for free. Overall, I am happy with my purchase. As a hardcore fan it is nice to have this addition to my bookshelf.
Dear Director, this book is great.
If you're a fan of RvB, then you'll like the book. I just got my copy today, and I finished it in less than two hours, something that is impressive considering that I can never read a book in one setting to completion without short breaks. There's a ton of interesting information that isn't addressed during the show, and a lot of funny tidbits. Some of the character-centric pages are also pretty great (like The Wisdom of Caboose, Donut's Diary, a literary version of a flash game Simmons made, and more), and the stats are great! Definitely worth the price, I'd buy it again!!
YAASSSS
the best gift i have ever received. funny and beautiful and very informative.
It arrived in great condition and I think she's gonna love it
Got this as a gift for my girlfriend for Christmas. I've only seen season 1 but she loves all of Rooster Teeth's stuff. It arrived in great condition and I think she's gonna love it!
An RvB Fact File
Great little book for any and all RvB fans. There isn't much in here you couldn't find out by watching the show a hundred times (which being the sad lifeless nerd I am, I have), but if your a fan of the show but don't feel like watching it over and over on repeat to take in all the jokes, story, and general silliness, this is the prefect way to be taken trough it. But don't buy it if you haven't watched the entire show up to and including Season 13, I really shouldn't have to mention it, but it does contain spoilers, and also, you won't get half of what's written, so just stop reading and go watch. If you've seen and enjoyed it stop reading and click purchase.
A Must Read For Any Fan
As a long-time fan of Red vs Blue and Rooster Teeth as a whole, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I finished it in a day. Finding out more about the writing process, why scenes were done in a certain way, and even the little things like who has the highest kill count. If you're a fan of Red vs Blue, you will love this book.
love rvb then you will love this book
i am not really into reading books but this is an amazing book. its really in-depth giving you a full understanding of everything to do with RVB from each character, the director and how RVB was written and it will make you laugh out load when reading it. if you have watched every episode of RVB then this book is perfect for you if not then its still a good read even for its length
why are we in the middle of this box canyon anyway

Love it so much
Been waiting ages to get this! Love it so much!

Great for fans of the show. Lots of little details.
I cried
I’m a huge fan of Rooster Teeth, but a bigger fan of Red Vs Blue, as it was that series that introduced me to the company as a whole. I’ve been following the characters since I was 10 or 11. I’m such a big fan of the series, and seeing that recently 2/5 founding fathers of the Company, Joel Heyman and Brunie Burns just left the company, having this book in my possession feels like I’ll always have a piece of those two fantastic individuals with me. Overall, overwhelmingly great product. 10/10
Perfect
Do you ever wonder how good is this book? I did. It kept me up at night. Now I have it and I just have to say: Best book ever of all time!
Great Book
Awesome book about a great series. Gives the details about everything on the popular web series Red vs. Blue.
Son loved it!
Arrived quickly and intact. Was a gift for my son and he has rewatched every disc so many times it's a wonder they haven't worn out lol.
