Reviews (205)

Faint, Difficult to read print

Returned this as it was too faint for elderly eyes to read easily even with additional light and reading glasses. I took a photo showing the difference in legibility between our 2015 and this faint 2021 atlas. Both show Az and you can see the 2015 (left) has deeper colours & more legible font.

Great Atlas

This is a great atlas. The maps are clear and complete. I cannot understand why anyone gave a negative review. I almost didn't buy because of the negative reviews. Sure glad I ignored them.

Its an atlas

It is a road atlas. More correctly it is THE road atlas. GPS is great, until it isn't. I keep one f these in each vehicle and get a new one every other year. The maps have never failed me but my GPS has a few times whether it was the one built into my car, the one on my phone or a standalone.

Not the quality I'm used to.

I ordered the 2020 Rand McNally road atlas to replace our 2006 copy. The difference in quality is noticeable. The paper is thinner, almost like newsprint, and the text on the maps is off-black, not the true black of the 2006 edition so it's harder to read. The topography is in pastel colors with no indication of terrain. You can barely tell the mountains from the flats. I am very disappointed in the quality. Guess I'll find a way to staple the cover back on our 2006 copy.

No where to hide

The font is too small (6) even with +2.00 reading glasses. There's so much info on the map that it makes it difficult to find a route sometimes. Would rather have an additional page with larger fonts. Will use it when looking places up but will probably revert to a single road map when traveling. Not all places on the map are necessarily listed in the Index.

Best map ever!!!!

I could not be happier about this purchase!!! It’s exactly what I am looking for. The pictures are clear and well organized. It’s useful to navigate large or small area alike. The scenic routes marks are my favorite. Highly recommend this product!!!

Love a Road Atlas

I'm old school and must have a paper product even with a portable GPS in my glove compartment and Waze on my cell. A paper map can't be beat for the "big picture" and ease of use, and the RM Road Atlas always delivers. My last RM in the car was from 2005 and gave to a friend in need. This 2020 is a great replacement; the only deficiency is the pages seem a little thinner. Otherwise, same good info and useability as my trusty 2005 version.

large size

I purchased both a small atlas for the car and this full size atlas for the house. It's nice to have the larger one to plan your trips and then the smaller one to keep track of how you are doing while driving.

Great For an RV!

My wife still prefers book maps over GPS. This large book and detailed maps make planning trips much easier. As an adjunct to a GPS, especially with some of the errors still present in current GPS software, this can be a life saver!

Horrible print quality

Terrible print quality. I’m probably one of the few people who actually wears out their atlas every few years. We use ours constantly for planning road trips, and our Rand McNally has always been our faithful companion. What a disappointment. I read and dismissed another review buy another purchaser regarding the quality, but when I received my 2020 edition I was quite shocked. I compared it to our old 2017 and the differences are astounding. Printed on what feels like newsprint, the blacks are grey and muddled, colors are muted, and it’s quite difficult to read. It’s pretty useless. If I didn’t have to go through the trouble of finding an envelope I’d return it, but I’ll just pitch it and order a National Geographic atlas. I guess Rand McNally has gone down the toilet. Enjoy your $19, you won’t get another dime from us.

Great for a road trip!

Excellent maps of each state—perfect for our road trip!

Lots of good detail, good blow ups of major cities, tiny print

Lots of detail in the maps, good blow ups of major cities, background color on maps is good. My issue with it is the print is so small that I have to wear magnifying glasses to read the towns and name of the roads. For someone with 20/20 or better vision it would be okay, but I have slightly degraded vision ( not enough to need prescription glasses yet- lowest power magnifiers are more than enough for almost everything I read.) but the print is very small and fine making it a challenge for me to see while navigating in the passenger seat. Other than small print the atlas is fine.

New & improved doesn’t equal better

I bought this to replace a 2010 version that, while still functional, I thought should be updated as we start to plan a cross-country trip next fall. I have had the newer version for a few weeks now and have to say I like the older version better. The newer version is too cluttered. I’m sure they thought by adding in more details that it would be better but I find it more distracting while actually trying to use the map. I think people are using these maps to do “big picture” planning and doing detailed, more specific planning with online tools (like Google Maps). I'm writing this review because I have benefited greatly from other folks taking time to review purchases. Hope you will consider the same on whatever you decide to purchase.

Always have an atlas while on road trips

I learned to drive before cellphone GPS. I habe also found that Google Maps doesn't always give you an easy route to your end point, it may habe you zigzagging many times. I would be assigned the road atlas whenever i was on a road trip. Many times, when i was snoozing away, the sriver woud take the wrong turn, i would find our way back using it. It's a valuable tool to have even in today's GPS world. I have been on roads where cellular would not exist, or GPS would get hazy due to tall buildings. On many trips i rather take the most direct path than the quickest allowing for a more uneventful road trip. Ensuring an updated version is on hand for new subdivisions and such but all major roadways habe been around forever. It's a great tool to have that slides nicely into seaback of the driver seat..

Durable

I really like this, it's paperback but not flimsy. It's durable and if kept in the right conditions should last a long while. Maps seem very detailed. Someone stated very thin pages, but I mean they feel fine to me.

Old School Navigation

Listen: GPS is not always available. Sometimes it just doesn’t work. Reading maps is a skill you need to teach your children. Purchase this and put it in your vehicle. You never know what you might need for adventures!

Updated road atlas for my map-loving mom

My 70+ yr old mom loves roadtrips.... she is old school and hates GPS on her phone..... she was using a version of this same map from the 90's, haha. I bought her this updated 2020 road atlas and she was thrilled, loves it. I have to say.... it's a pretty great road atlas for planning routes and for looking stuff up when google streets just doesn't cut it. Colorful and easy to read. (I'm a travel junkie and geography lover, too, so I may bit biased.) Pretty accurate, too, from what I can tell so far. I would totally buy this again.

Just like my old 2011 version

I was concerned after reading some of the negative reviews, but this is just what I wanted, a newer version of my old favorite. It is updated, contrary to what one reviewer said. One reason I wanted a new one is that we were on a road trip and both GPS AND my 2011 road atlas failed me on an interchange. Not too surprising with a 9-year-old atlas, but also GPS?? But the new version has it correct! GPS is great for directions, but I do all of our trip planning, and I rely on the atlas for overall big-picture planning. I like to look at it while on the road to know "in general" where we are. The 2021 pages may be a little thinner, as one reviewer said but, no, not as thin as newspaper. I think it will hold up fine. It's a good value.

Why do things have to get cheaper instead of better?

Was updating an old version of this from 2002 Paper is thinner and not as nice. Maps are divided funny and the cover was really bent up. I was really disappointed in this version. Prefer my old one.

The Need to Get There

I bought this Rand-McNally road atlas after an eye opening but totally unnecessary detour through downtown Nashville on the way back from Alabama following the death of my uncle. It was at this moment that I resolved that this would never happen again. It’s very colorful and this atlas has a revised set of maps that encompass notable metropolitan areas and it doesn’t contain a Walmart insert like the one that my mom usually has with her. My one caution would be to watch the type face because depending on one’s vision needs, you may need to invest in a magnifying glass to look at some of the lesser cities. But overall, it’s a solid atlas that meets my needs.

Great Atlas!

Thanks for fast delivery and a great product. This Atlas will be put to good use for a long road trip beginning in NYC, to Washington D.C, to Virginia, up the Delmarva Peninsula, to Pennsylvania's Amish Country, back to NYC and then on North to The Catskills and Adirondacks to Canada and Niagara Falls. Of course on the return trip, we will stop on the American side of the Falls, on to Corning NY and then little road trips along the way until we reach NYC back. As you can see I needed an Atlas! This one is large-sized, with many details and easy to navigate which is a bonus.

Great book can save miles and time on a trip.

Good quality book. Put together well and maps are very easy to read. Great to have with you for when the cell phone or GPS can’t get reception which happened to us numerous times traveling in the Midwest. When your traveling 70mph or more and coming up on a junction or exit you don’t have a lot of time to reset or search for a signal. This book solves those issues.

Would not purchase again.

They cramp in to much information on one page. Larger cities should be given their own page. Cramping everything on to one page render this map challenging to use! Would not purchase again!

Gotta have it!

I still use GPS for sure but I purchase new atlases for each new road trip and turn them into scrapbooks from the trip. Always Rand McNally. Lately the Large Font has been helpful :) This is the first time I didn't get the spiral ring version and so far I'm grateful. There are pros and cons to both but I think the spiral ones require a bit more care than I usually have to give while travelling which means some banged up/coverless scrapbooks :)

The gold standard

I buy an updated copy of the atlas every five years or so. I have not noticed any change in paper or print quality. Still easy to read even with my aging eyes. We recently used it during a four state road trip and found it to be accurate. Yes we used GPS along the way, but sometimes you just need to pick up the map and see the BIG picture.

Road Trip Planner

Great maps for planning road trips. Easier to plan stopping points vs using on line maps. You pick out points then check distances on Google Maps and you can find travel time to you destination. This is my method of planning for long road trips over 1000 miles or more.

Perfect

This is perfect for my car, you never know when you can't rely on technology

My favorite atlas for home and travel.

Yeah, yeah everybody has a cell phone, tablet or GPS, so who needs (or wants) a paper atlas. Me. That's who. Thank you Rand McNally for continuing to print this historical document. I get a new one every three years. Yes I use GPS when I travel, but I also want the big picture. I spoze in 20 years these printed Atlas may not be available, so watch the news and if you hear Rand McNally is going to stop publishing buy one and treasure it. On The Road Again.

A very good road atlas!

This newest edition of the classic Rand McNally Road Atlas doesn't disappoint! The maps of all 50 states and most parts of the Canadian provinces are well-detailed and seemingly up-to-date. City and National Park maps are pretty good too, giving the reader a general idea of where important roads, attractions, colleges, airports, etc are. The National Parks guide near the front of this atlas is nice, but features just a few parks. If you are looking for a more complete guide to the U.S. National Parks, then the more expensive National Parks edition is a much better choice. Also, if you have trouble reading smaller print, then the large-scale edition certainly would be a better choice. Over all though, this is a very good road atlas - an excellent book to have if you enjoy road trips in the U.S. or Canada.

Large, lots of info

This Atlas is pretty large (see photo in comparison to a regular sized magazine). Very detailed. Good value in my opinion!

Good but Very Small Print

I love Rand McNally road atlases, I always prefer them to using a GPS and this one is really great. The only issue that I have with it is that the print is teeny tiny. 20 years ago it may not have been an issue, but my eyes are getting old lol - I'll probably keep this one and buy a second one that is the large print.

Just what I wanted

Bigger than expected in a good way! Glad I didn’t go for binder version. Maps are old tech but that’s the point. Rand is a classic! If the GPS system fails (satellite disaster or ... ) we’re all set to get out of town. My 1980s Rand finally met its end, so it’s nice to have the updated version.

2021 version is seemingly identical to the 2019 version

I always enjoyed the Rand McNally Atlas to look up places I’m reading about. You know, where the places are; what are they near; even the population. I usually buy the Atlas every other year. To my disappointment, this “2021” Atlas is seemingly identical to my 2019 Atlas. I returned this. Maybe the 2022 version will include data from the 2020 Census.

Great Atlas

This atlas is not disappointing other than the lettering/numbers are too small to read without a magnifying glass. It has a lot of information, which is what I was looking for.

Works without internet!

Unique in-book local caching system means your maps will display correctly anytime, anywhere, even in locations without power or internet! No GPS tracking feature. Does not have turn-by-turn navigation directions. Works as a heat and light source when ignited.

Great to have in your car these days

Nice to have in the SUV these days. More travel on the highways, and food to get a hard copy overview to plan trips the old fashion way. I used to always have one of these in my car back in the day - Just in case. Also my worst fear occurred- technology failed on me for a short while- not enough to matter, but got me thinking that we rely on electronics maybe way too much. Conventional map reading is becoming a lost art- like cursive and other things.

Good Atlas

This is a good atlas. I still haven't examined it real well in order to follow a route from state to state. However, it does have a full map of the US with the major highways in the front and is sufficient to travel from state to state using the major highways which I mostly use when I travel long distances.

The smaller version is better

As others have written, the maps are, well, all over the map. They are not consistently in the same direction and the breaks between pages are a major nuisance. Returned for the smaller version which is just easier to use.

For a girl who roadtrips WITHOUT Waze

I love a good ole Rand McNally Atlas book, and mine was so shredded that I needed a new one. I'm psyched to have the latest and greatest. It the size I wanted for large maps to review, and it has some fun stuff like city highlights in it as well. Rand McNally makes my travel easier to navigate.

Learn to read maps

Bought this for the kids. Realized how much they rely on Google/GPS and thought they need to know how to read a map. We also made sure they could do math without a calculator. BTW Rand- McNally has always been the best. Call me old fashioned but kids need to know where and how to look for info.

Useful but HUGE!

This book is very large. That's the first thing I thought upon opening the bag it came in. I was expecting something 8"x11" but this is twice that size. However, it does have great detail. I was just hoping I could get it in the glovebox for those GPS moments that leave me lost. Sadly, it is way too big for the glovebox. I definitely do not regret my purchase. I took one star off due to its size.

Great maps

Still like checking our route on a map. Very helpful when there is a detour &/or GPS is not working. Also great finding points of interest. All roadside rest are even marked on the map, which we found very helpful. Easy to read.

Poor quality item...

Received this item within 24 hours using Prime. However, it looked used and there was super sticky 5”x6” deteriorating label on the front of the book. I pealed it off as best as possible. It was covering up some places where the picture was torn on the cover and it left a large sticky area on the front cover. Very disappointing! This area of the front of the new Atlas will need to be covered to keep it from sticking to everything it comes in contact with.

Perfect for the zombie apocalypse

My daughter is now an adult and living on her own about 200 miles away. With all that's going on, we told her that if anything happens, we should meet at grandmothers. She asked, "if my phone doesn't work, how will I know how to get there?" Problem solved.

Always good.

In a world of GPS navigation, I still like a map when I need to do some trip planning or just want to see what's along the way. Like the larger size. Easier to read and shows more of the smaller towns.

Great product

I always like having an Atlas around to just flip through and just in case something ever happens. This one is easy to read, great layout, and the class Rand McNally Atlas I grew up with.

It’s a Book of Maps!!

Are you lost? Is your GPS not working? Are you on some country-ass road with no end in sight?? Well then, this is your new BFF! It’s called a road atlas, which in Gen Z speak means “paper GPS!” You have to turn pages manually, no touchscreens here, but it will NEVER go offline! Next time you and your friends decide to go road-tripping to the local haunted house or railroad track in the middle of nowhere, don’t be the scary movie equivalent of the buxom girl running and tripping. Be the heroes with the PAPER MAP that can safely steer you back home.

Most detailed Atlas ever

Used on a roadtrip from Chicagoland to Virginia and it was great to see a pre planned route on the map when internet failed to work (I'm looking at you Indiana). Its also a great way to show your travels. I highlighted our route and put a star for places we stayed overnight. The atlas impressed me with details because they even put toll stations which Google failed to tell us once or twice. Overall, if you need it get it!

Needed replacement

I was able to retire an old road atlas. It was good even though not too much had changed. I am showing my age, but I still enjoy the ability to look at a good sized map.

Still the best

This review is in response to the negative reviews I read before ordering my copy of the 2021 Road Atlas. The paper may be a little thinner than in prior years, but it is fine. My print was not faded and was easy to read (and I am a senior). Topography is clearly labeled. Rand McNally is still the Cadillac of road atlases.

Atlas is way outdated. We threw it away !!!

We were trying to use for reference for business expansion, but it is outdated. ******THE Census Figures are 30 years old !!!!!

Exactly what I was hoping for.

I had an older atlas and that became a victim of our dog during her chewing stage. This one is great, updated from what I was using, and gives some wonderful detail.

Great Product & Price

Bought for a road trip, thought it would be nice to have as a backup in case our technology failed for some reason. Nice throwback to a time before phones. Arrived on time and in great condition. Great product and great price. Would buy again from this seller in the future.

Nice Edition, Fast Shipping

We were getting ready for a cross country road trip. Although we generally use a GPS, we always carry an atlas for those "just in case" moments. Our atlas was over 20 years old so we decided to update. This items shipped quickly and efficiently. And it's so nice to have all updated information now.

Nice road map

Sorry technology, but the GPS screen just does not compensate for having a good Atlas/road map when traveling. The screen can just give so much panorama of the overall area. We are consumers of this road atlas for over 20 years. Still find it so useful and are satisfied with it.

Easier to read than a phone screen

I really like the fact I can see a whole state and the route to take to get somewhere instead of reading text or scrolling along to see where to go. I like using a GPS, but the atlas has the information I can find quickly and easily. It was also nice to know I-44 in OK is a tollroad.

Sometimes the "old way" is best

Just got the new version of this book. It is awesome! So much easier than trying to plan a trip on the computer/ipad. We travel in our rv and this is a life saver...especially in areas where internet accesss is iffy.

Good Value

This is good when you want to see a map. It is nice to have the whole US in one book.

Map review

We especially like the mileage between major cities and the map of U.S. Showing major interstates for trip planninv. Being part of the older generation, we like to see the whole picture, rather than snippets on our phones.

Works well on long trips across USA

We like it. Same old USA driving maps I've used for 50 years, no problems. Given a choice, we like the spiral bound better but this one is fine.

Just as expected.

Arrived super fast. We were pleasantly surprised to see things we know that have changed updated on the maps. Bought this for someone planning to travel cross country. Thought it would be helpful for when cell service is poor or cell battery is dead.

Great Map with a lot of detail.

Quick delivery and just what we wanted. We bought this to replace one that was a couple years older and completely worn out. So glad this to get this.

The standard for road maps

It's a great backup to have in your car when your GPS is gives you wrong directions.

have a 2014 road atlas found no changes in the 2020 road atlas.

we are planning to go see the glass walk way out over grand canon.got the directions off the inter net. wanted map to plan our trip, neither the 2020 whitch we expected to show road from kingmann to walkway with name or number on them. the2014shows the same as 2020. no help; wasted money seems like we got2014 maps with 2020 on them

Smokies

Came in very handy to double check route on our trip in March. Best & most direct route getting home because if the virus. Can’t always trust the iPhone maps

Sometimes

you just need to pull out a real map on paper and find out what's up. Rand McNally is the way to go. I use GPS, but I like a good overview, too.

Rand McNally 2020 Road Atlas

I purchased to replace a older edition. I prefer having paper instead of online in preparing for a Vacation. This edition continues to work for me and would purchase again.

Good quality

I buy one every year to keep in home for reference in case I hear something on the news , or family member is taking road trip and want to track their progress. I wouldn't carry this in my car , but would if I owned an RV since it is rather large. Recommend

Paper over digital always!!

Works for me much faster then trying to find what I need online.

Road Trip Staple

Easy to read. My husband loves this large version. My only "complaint" is that the section for Canada does not give enough information. Only one page per territory or province (sometimes less). Fortunately, we were able to pick up better maps at Visitor Centers.

Perfect for trips or when gps goes out.

I've had to use a map a few times during trips. I really like to look at the pages since it's super easy to see where you are or find new places to explore. I've been able to locate lakes I didn't know about before. The price is great too.

Still a must have

I still have to have a full size atlas with me. Although I love my phone directions, this helps you see the bigger picture, especially when there is traffic.

Hit the road Jack 🚘

I’ve been giving my husband a Rand McNally for Christmas every year for 25 years. He loves to compare changes from year to year. Just wish we could still find the vinyl covered atlases still.

New printing of maps is fuzzy on very thin paper.

I have been buying these atlases for years and for the first time that I have noticed the paper is very thin and cheap

Exactly as described

Arrived in perfect condition

Excellent details and color

Was so nice to be Able to buy an actual road atlas. I enjoy looking at the road we are driving. Excellent details and color

Works for me

I have good eyesight so the really small print doesn't bother me. From what I've flipped though, some pages, the print is really close together and small but it's ok. I like the layout and it works for me. Can't wait to teach my kids how to read a map when we go on a road trip this summer

Great for road trips

I’ve always liked having a map when I travel. This covers most situations. The details on certain cities helps navigate unfamiliar surroundings.

Finally I have direction in my life.

I have had a hobby of reading US Road Atlases all my life. I always buy the next one when it is released, even though there are few changes.

Not much detail

Past atlases had more detail than this version.

Great Atlas

Very detailed atlas...It is quite large, so if you are planning on using it in your car, you may want to consider the smaller version. Excellent buy, though!

Good

It's huge. Didn't think it's that big. Pafes don't seam too think as a lotbof people complained. Overall looks good. Haven't used it yet.

Got in Case of Apocalypse

You never know when GPS satellites will be taken out by aliens lol, so I got maps! Great quality, manageable size, of course Rand McNally are the go-to. Good stuff.

Educational

It’s been forever since I had yo read a map. I like having a map at my fingertips incase i lose connection of internet. I am also using it as an educational tool for my grandchildren

Disappointing

Totally dissatisfied. I buy a new Rand McNally road atlas every year for our extensive travel through the US. This atlas has a lot less pages because the map size has been reduced. The paper quality is poor—-thin and thus, not durable. Luckily I have my old atlas, which I will keep using until I find a quality new one.

A little larger than i expected

I keep this in my car for Road Trips. It is bigger than it needs to be but easy to read

Not large print

Had to send this back, as it was not large print as I thought that it was.

Good map

Took a road trip out west. Figured I needed an actual map in case GPS faded on me. GPS worked great. But was so nice to actually have a map to show local areas, points of interest, and just some old time nice feelings of using a map.

Several of the maps inside of this book are not accurate.

I purchased a 2021 Atlas assuming that everything would be up to date while I find errors suchas Highway ramps that have not existed for 5 years in major cities, yet some places have updated information which was only changed in 2019.

GIANT

Very nice. I guess I just wasn't expecting it to be a GIANT book. Seriously it's the size of a desktop calendar.

Best Road Atlas

Best road Atlas! We have a GPS but my husband loves to buy one, once a year to go on road trips. It’s great to have along in the car for any trips.

Very small print.

4 Stars for the amount of information. Very small print and difficult to read which is 1star. No good if you wear bifocals.

When your phone signal and GPS fail, you need a good ‘ol map

Great size. Nice to find the scenic byways when roadtripping. It’s nice to have a paper map when electronics fail us.

These are so fun to look at

Paper road atlas are so much fun to look at. I like them soooo much better than looking at a computer screen.

There's really not much that could be wrong with this

It's big and it's well printed. Came in perfect condition and will be great for my travels because it's not always about the GPS ;D

Favorite Travel Map

We took it on a 2 week trip across several states. We have bee using Rand McNally road atlas for over 10 years due to ease of use and information provided along with a lot of other information.

Found my way out of California with this!

These are great! I got this for my daughter in her new car. Iphones and smart devices useless with bad cell. Cant go wrong with this.

We still use this!

We travel a lot and yes modern technology is great but sometimes if you don't have cell service act an Atlas comes in very Handy.

Bigger than I expected; should have checked the size before purchase

It's really too large to carry in a car and a spiral binding would make it easier to use. Map layout is good.

Does the job !

I do like the spiral bound better but this will be great fun with the kids on our road trip!

Love it!❤️

This atlas is very detailed as expected. It has helped us plan our summer road trip!

is what it is

it's an awesome road atlas, it shipped very quickly, no complaints, it's nice to be able to visit places in the altas and in my mind, since we's all locked down

Nothing beats an up to date road atlas when many detours have been put in place!

I missed having a good road atlas to keep in my vehicle. Since the tornados hit Nashville, navigating the best detour around NASHVILLE for my trips up North was crucial and not all GPS’s are up to date. This 2020 Atlas is a welcomed friend to travelers no matter where in the USA your going.

It would have been nice to have as backup. Kinda a map freak. Ordered one through Amazon.

Well from description it looks like a regular road map but it is the one truckers use.

Not waterproof

Larger than expected but I hadn't checked the item dimensions before ordering. Pages are not lamented so I will be bagging this and searching for a waterproof atlas as well. Lots of detail and info

4 stars Not the books fault

Im older so though its a great reference book Ihad trouble reading the tiny print so I gave it to my son

Google Maps

Even though we mostly use Google Maps or Waze we like to have an atlas when we travel. This is the best one we've found so far.

nothing like an Atlas!

I love having maps on my phone and computer but there's nothing like looking at an Atlas when planning a trip.

Road Trip needs a Road AtlasN

Exactly as advertised and desired. Timely delivery, arriving in pristine condition, and at an acceptable price.

Great Rand McNally Map!

You can never go wrong with a Rand McNally map! My GPS sure makes big mistakes sometimes so bought this map for planning my next big road trip!

Great buy!

Perfect for those who love real maps! Good illustrations & accurate!

A staple!

Bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas. Definitely a staple in our bug out bag. Only problem is that it’s large. I’d recommend buying a smaller one (pocket size). Just buy it, trust me you’ll use it!

When google isn’t enough

Easy to read with what you want in a map. Sometimes google is not enough. Great when there was no signal on the phone.

Nice Atlas

I bought this Atlas to replace an outdated previous edition. Very happy with this purchase. Good value.

I like the Rand McNally mapbooks.

I really like the Rand McNally map books. I like to sit in my chair and plan out trips. I finally wore out my 2015 edition and bought a new one.

If you Like Cheap, Thin Pages This is Your Atlas

Pages are horribly thin! I will go to SamsClub next time I need an atlas. This one stinks and us nowhere near the quality their atlases used to be.

Don't buy if your main interest is Mexico

I bought it because it was to support travel in Mexico. Only one page dedicated to Mexico and print too small to read without a magnifying glass

I get my new book!

give me a new road book in his Steve for me, qatlh!!!!

Excellent Atlas!

Excellent atlas would highly recommend for those of us who still like a paper copy.

Important to have!

I bought one of these for each of my grand kids that are in college. It's one thing to have a GPS, but it is handy to have a real map in case of a problem.

Clear and concise

Pages are clear and highways and roads are up to date. Price is very reasonable. Have been getting a new one every year for decades.

Highly useful when your gps fails you!

Very good atlas! I bought it because on a couple occasions our gps failed on us. And it happened again, but this time I had the atlas a great help!!

Atlas

It is great with details, but physically it is huge! It is difficult to use in the car.

Fantastic

My husband loved it. We take our Road Atlas with us when we travel and the old one is pretty marked up. We can now travel fresh with a new one.

East to read!

It's great to have a map just to look at your location when traveling other than your phone or GPS. Great keep in the car!

Wonderful Tool

Handy and accurate maps and travel information

A must for all travelers and great for trip planning

This road Atlas is a great asset in planning trips and for providing information and maps your GPS does not. I have one in each vehicle and by my office desk.

Good map

Nice map just awfully packaged bent when arrived

good supplement

Sometimes, I want to see the 'big' picture, rather than pinch my phone map. This gives clear roads and towns, as it has for many years.

Up to date

As described, complete maps...print a little small for older folks.

Maps

Useful for trip via car across country.

Locating and revisiting, and planning.

Fun to revisit places, plan new journeys, and just dream of traveling

Packaged well.

Packaged well, however we cancelled our trip due to the pandemic so haven't been able to judge the accuracy of the maps 😢

Great

I liked the 2021 Road Atlas. It was just what I expected. Delivered in a timely manner. Packaging was adequate.

Nice atlas

Great atlas. I have for prepping as google maps may not be available in an emergency.

Was time for a new road atlas.....

.....this one fit the bill, no complaints at all.

very good atlas, have used these for years.

The print seems to have gotten tiny in the index and maps are as bright as they used to be.

Attractive Atlas

This is excellent for travel needs.

Typical Atlas

Not as detailed as expected but still a nice atlas with some good features.

Just ok

Fine. Just ok. Very thin pages and not readable even with glasses for this over 40 year old.

A great road atlas

Love having an atlas in my home and in my car. Everyone should have one.

Perfect for me

I always buy Rand McNally atlases. I have bought a new one the last four years.

Great backup

Great backup to auto GPS. Extremely detailed and easy to read.

Nice travel reference

Perfect travel companion

Always a good map book

Had one for years until I wore it out.

Great Road Atlas!

I have to purchase a new Road Atlas every 5 years because of expansion and construction! I have always used Rand McNally's Atlas!

Highly recommend

Just like we used when I was a kid! Sometimes electronic maps just aren’t as user friendly as the printed page. Great value, arrived quickly - great resource to have around the house. Highly recommend.

Useful

Good for road trip

Great size and easy to read fonts.

Great size. I am a bit of a prepper and always have hard copy back ups in the car.

Exactly what I ordered

Came in great shape

Better than any app out there

The best road trip planner on the market.

Off line traveling.

So nice to have a paper map when off line!

Nice large pages, one state per page!!

Nice map, I use GPS, but going on a road trip, like the fact that I can see where I’m going instead of relying on my gps.

Price

Travel

It’s huge if that’s what you need

Bought this intending to put in the glovebox. It barely fits in a furniture drawer. My family enjoys maps, and it’s a great book, so we kept it. Next time I will pay more attention to the dimensions!

Road Atlas

It is what I was looking for, easy to use, a lot of data, cities and all roads.

Good Map

Its a good map... use for traveling the USA...

Good overall map

Good atlas, but not enough detail when it comes to smaller roads and passage ways.

We enjoy highlighting our routes

Good for road trips

Great for road trips. No folding required. 😉

A Great Resource !

State maps can provide knowledge for many questions besides best driving routes !

Review of Rand Atlas

My husband and myself love our new Rand Atlas’s!!!! Actually we were so surprised that I ordered it one day and it arrived the very next day!! The price was great too!!! Thanks for getting it to us so fast!!!!!
