Painlessly in Love

I loved this book. Pain did not play about his Vanessa and went hard for her and her kids. He showed her what it was liked to be loved genuinely and unconditionally. Vanessa went through some stuff with her trifling baby daddy but she knew she had to leave him behind. Her ex did a number on her with his mental abuse but she was able to overcome and was stronger for it. I loved how everything Pain did for Vanessa was intentional and that while guarded, she didn’t allow her past to keep her from experiencing the love of a lifetime. I also loved Pink. We all need a friend who will call us on our mess and stan for us at every turn encouraging us and lifting us up. It was also beautiful to see the relationship and bond that Pain developed with Roby and Ashley.

Pain and Vanessa met as Pain was managing her son’s music career. The more they got to know one another the more feelings Pain developed toward Vanessa. Vanessa hid her feelings until she couldn’t anymore. A great read!

I related to this book so much being a mother of a young child and single again. I love the story line and also love this author!!! Now I’m waiting on Pink and Los story!!! Awesome work I’ve officially read every book by this author. Awesome M. Monique

I love how she incorporates of the characters from previous books. it feels familiar like you're being introduced to a new friend. Especially when the new characters and the old characters have a close relationship.

Pain knew from the moment he was introduced to Vanessa she was it for him so, he wasted no time making her his woman. He pretty much started courting and wooing her from the beginning. If I don't want her but, I don't want nobody else to have her was a person, it would definitely be Tre. Now, mind you, he and Vanessa haven't been together in over 10 years but, that didn't stop Tre from acting like a petulant child when she and Pain started dating. That fool almost lost his mind but, Pain helped him find it. The Smith and the McQueen crew had to pull up and show this idiot what it was. I was so over the moon Vanessa finally got her HEA. She not only deserved it but, she earned it. Now, can we discuss Roby's age? How is it Roby is 18 in this book but, he turned 20 in Anything Necessary For Her? This book didn’t go back in time. Matter of fact, it's eight months later from when Vanessa and Pain first met so, Ashley should be a 16 year old junior and not a 14 year old freshman. For the life of me, I'll never understand how an author can forget their own content. Your readers pay attention to details. So, should you. But, I digress. I absolutely loved Painlessly in Love. I think, out of all of the books, this was my favorite one. I loved catching up with the other characters and see everyone thrive in their relationships. I would love to see Pink and Carlos get a story. She deserves a HEA too. I'm so sad these crossovers have come to an end but, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some updates.

I'm realizing that most of M. Monique's stories are pretty similar. At least from what I've read so far from her catalog. The hero is always some tough niğğa with money and power, and strong AAVE, who gets śhít done, and who also loves so fiercely. That was Champain. He was an athlete who fell head over heels for Vanessa. Vanessa was a timid single mother with the shìttìest ex; Tre, who verbally and mentally and emotionally abused her. He refused to let her move on in peace. But not if Pain had anything to with it. That was the gist of the story. But don't get me wrong. I am here for it. I love how these men love their girls. Champain was all about Vanessa. From the way he made love to her, to how he took care of her and her kids....Pain loves him some V-Baby. I loved it. I enjoyed the story, though I was shocked at the amount of little errors in this story. From run-on sentences to missing ponctuations to a few misspelled words. But nonetheless, good story.

Lord, Tre was a whole b-----. I love how Roby and Ashley had such I great bond with their mother. Vanessa went through, came through a got blessed.

Ok so Pain and Vanessa was different in the way that they fell for each other but it's like Pain knew all along. He was such an exciting character to get to know because he always seemed off doing his own thing but he was never too far behind. I liked how he took to Ash and Roby because they needed him just as much as their mom. He showed them that they deserved loved but she also showed him that he deserved love as well. V being quiet did not take away from her feistiness and the way she handled the vultures. I am Pink was there because everyone needs that one friend that helps them through everything. Love these two just as much as the rest

If I were together a chance I would take this Pain like a champ.... shoot I wouldn’t need no one to ask me twice or to find out if it’s too much because I can assure you it will not. This story was the bomb and my most favorite part besides the romance and loyalty, it’s Roby and Ashley with a high ranking of Pink. They were everything with Champaign topping in of course. Ms. Vanessa was also perfect. This little group was surely like a Halo. Tre was a🤬🤬🤬 and was so glad he got what he was served up to. I always enjoy how MS. Monique tries to always sneak in some of her other characters in. You best believe when you read a story from MS. Monique 9 times out of 10 somehow, somewhere they are or become related. This the nice, dope, most intelligent with this author and I always love and enjoy reading her. Now let me go find out if Pink and Carlos had gotten it right and what is up with this new crew, those brothers (see what I mean - all related). And how about Roby and his career? Who is he going to find to balance him out and Ashley still have a way to go to so we don’t worry about that.

This story is so relatable to those of us that have gone through some of the same things Vanessa has endure. Maybe at different stages of our lives, but the same none the less. And Pain is a whole other situation. The family bond that’s shown here is one that every family should have.

Yes! We.finally. get the 411 on Pain and boy is it a dozy. The writer gives.us a story that has been well crafted. This was not only about the power of love but it was about trust. Without giving slot of tje.story away lets just say.that it was.good.

Loved it! Pain was finally ready to love. It took him sometime to get to a place where he was willing to try and when he was finally there his woman came into his life. Now if Vanessa could get out of her way and not let her trauma rule her. She continues to go through it with her children father who won’t let go even though they haven’t been together in over 10 years! “Sometimes no matter how much over a person you were, the darts they throw can sometimes find a way under your skin.” This quote fits Vanessa’s emotional and mental state. Tre the BD tore her down. Pain had a remedy for all of that as he gave her joy! Great read!

Another good read from this author as I continue to raid her catalog. Love me some Pain, Champaign Halo! Vanessa went through it with her punk ex Tre but sis wind up winning in a big way even after Tre did all he could to sabotage her and destroy her life. Loved her children and how they held up their mom through everything! This author needs to do a masterclass on book bae because Pain was all of it and more. Now I need to read both Cake, Pain's sister and Champ, Pain's brother stories. I just need to read her whole catalog!

Vanessa and Champaign said they will never fall in love, until they meet each other. Vanessa kids father was a no good dude that tore her down every chance he got, but after Vanessa left him and built herself back up, she was a new woman. When Champaign helped her son start his rap career, all he wanted was Vanessa and he did what needed to be done to get her. With Champaign football tram playing in the Superbowl, he invited Vanessa to come visit him for 6 days, she took him up on his offer, but they didn't expect to fall in love. Champaign loved Vanessa so much it was beautiful to watch. He not only loved Vanessa, he loved her kids as well and did anything and everything for them and her. The chemistry with Pain and Vanessa was strong and I couldn't get enough of watching their relationship grow. When Vanessa is attacked. Pain was there to handle everything. I loved this book from the beginning to the end and wanted more. This author is new to me and she has other books in her catalog I will be checking out!! Excellent read!!

They both never saw it coming. What one man threw away another one stepped right in to take care of. I loved how Champaign was only in the business of mentoring and managing Roby but painfully in love with Victoria. A great read, story of redemption and finding love all at the same time. And of course some of the main crew was there to keep the testosterone levels at an all time high. Now I'm curious to see what Carlos and my Pink is about to get into. Great read!!

Hands down my favorite book in this series! Not too dramatic or unbelievable. Campaign was definitely BAE! Can't wait for the next read!

Besides the occasional “own” for “on”, this was a very solid read. I especially loved how Champagne finessed Vanessa for months before officially dating her. Vanessa was so deserving of a good man 👏🏽 I was cheering for sis the whole book. Glad it didn’t take her too many years to kick Tre trifling ass to the curb!

Omg 😳 I’m so happy for Vanessa and her kids cuz after all she suffered she finally found a wonderful man to love her past her insecurities and mess up mind and to be quite honest to no fault of her own she was just a woman who loved the wrong guy at a young age. Pain deserved to extremely happy and he was. Awesome 👏 book

I love me some Pain! Vanessa deserved every bit of the love Pain bestowed upon her. The way he loved Vanessa, Roby and Ashley was beautiful. Tre tried and almost succeeded in tearing her down. But the love Champagne Halo healed everything Tre broke.

Need I say anything else. The way Champaign loved Vanessa and her children is spiritual. It was horrible what Tre did to her. But payback comes in due time. Definitely a five stars rating!

Great read. Pain is a man that knew what he wanted and made it his mission to get Venessa. I'm so glad that Tre got what he got.

I found this author the past three days and read four of her books so far. I enjoyed them all but this was my favorite. Vanessa & Pain are couple goals. The way Pain loved on Vanessa and her children was beautiful. Also, loved Pink & Vanessa’s bond and Pain’s family relationships. The way real men treat women. This was a great story and I will definitely read more of Ms. Monique’s work.

Pain is on sexy Man!!!! Everything about him and the way he carried himself not just for Vanessa but her children spoke volumes! I’m in love with the couple for sure!

Campaign AKa Pain is the man. When he loves, he loves hard. Vanessa stole my man. I'm happy she found her Real husband. Vanessa kids father was a no-good little boy that tore her down every chance he got. She left him at the end, and learn to build herself back up again. She found a man who loves her and her kids. I'm so ready for the next read and 👭🏽.

The story was good, but the book lacks character development and has inconsistencies. After reading I assume these characters come from another book, but there should’ve been a disclaimer stating that if the author wasn’t going to give character details and development. Some of the inconsistencies in the book were easy to skip over but some were just blatant. Like the reporters name initially being Eileen and then mid book changing to Elaine, or the main character stating she didn’t have social media anymore and two pages later the male lead was watching her live. Sometimes these types of contractions mess up the flow of reading because readers have to go back and figure out what just happened. All in all good story but because it feels like a spin-off i was unable to fully get into the book because there were so many missing piece for me.

I'm throwing in my bid for the real husband's of ain't he fine fine. These women got some hitta's on the team. Tag me sis I'm up next.

Whew Chile. I loved everything about this book. The characters, dialect, plot, setting everything. I’m so glad I found this author. The reflections of her past really taught me some lessons and confirmed so much for me.

Wow...this book was good from the beginning to the end. I just could not put it down! The love that Pain had for V and her kids, and the way that they were exactly what the other needed for healing was so refreshing and awesome. Great read 5 stars all the way!

Pain and Vanessa have been getting more comfortable with each other while working to help with Roby’s career. When things start changing in a positive way, feelings that weren’t on both of their radars became more important. Great book!

We need more Pain in the world. Pain loved and protected his family like a true soldier. The real love he had and showed V baby, Roby, and Ashley was amazing . Excellent read on black love! Can't wait for the next read.

This the ninth book I read from this author and every book I read I’m in love with these men. I just don’t know whose my favorite right now because they all bring something to the table! Meet Pain a man that carried the hurt 😢 from the passing of his parents especially his mom. His brother Champ and sister Kay Kay are his world and he was not letting no one in that circle. This man is a beast in the NFL and successful in life with all the ventures with his brother Champ. I love their family dynamics. Meet Vanessa sad to say a woman so broken and battled depression from her children’s father was just too much. She was similar to Pain’s mom somewhat not for loving the children’s father like Pain’s mom who just withered away and died of a broken heart, but her children’s father Tre mentally, physically and verbally broke this woman down. Her friend Pink (I had to side eye the friend because a lot of them not in your corner) along with her children helped her healed and baaaby it was a long process. She was so hurt from the children’s father that she nearly missed out on Pain’s love. She was somewhat aggravating, but what she went thru is somewhat understandable. Did I also say she’s stubborn too and did not want any help for the main fact what that abusive man mentally did to her. She was young and according to her “fast” when she met Tre and birthed two babies. Why have two children for this scum, but like she said she was young and dumb. Sad situation. Pain and Vanessa healed each other hearts. Pain showed Vanessa what is the meaning of love and how one should be treated. He was so awesome sigh 😌. Where this author be getting these men lord ham mercy. Her children love them some Pain. Just like his brothers and friends he also got a screw loose. I love how Pain addressed bullying and other mental things at her child’s school. Of course you have these hating women and men who wants to come at you sideways. They all got what they deserved especially that trifling children’s father ugh. He was a pathetic POS yahurme!

I loved it. M. Monique is dang show one of my favorite authors I've read all but 2 or 3 of her books and they are definitely on my list of next reads. I love the friendship between Vanessa and Pink. Friends like that is hard to find these days. I also love how Roby and Ashley were so close. Vanessa was a great mom. Tre was a piece of 💩 and deserved what he got. As always I loved hearing from the crew even if it wasn't all of them. Now Pink and Carlos need a book. Not to mention Zoo, Sin, & Brooklyn they need to find love as well. Shoot sense we are talking about it let's not stop there Roby can find himself a boo too when the time comes. As u can probably tell, I look for any opportunity to see the crew again😁😁. The idea for the story was nice. I wish there weren't so much cussing and foul mouths in the telling of this story. I liked Payne and his crew; he was a book bae. Tre was a dirty dog, and worthless too. I have a hard time with low-self esteem women. Vanessa was emotionally empty due to Tre's constant negativity. When she met Champagne, her coffer was empty. He had to build her up and hold her down. Pink was crazy cool, and you will adore her. Ashley was cute as a button, and Rob was a big brother to the nth power. My rating is related to the constant amount of cursing, even from the young adults. Overall, the story was pretty good

Last have mercy this book was soooo good. I was completely immersed from beginning to end I just read through in one sitting. I love Pain and Vanessa together it was just meant for them to be a family unit. I loved how Pain loved her and her kids without any doubt. I'm so glad that Vanessa was able to move through the pain of her pass and become whole again so that the love she shared with Pain was unbreakable. I love the entire Halo family and their spouses. I can't wait for Pink and Carlos story. This is my first read from this author and definitely won't be my last as I go pull up her whole catalog to get more acquainted. Five star read all the way and I can't wait to read what's next

Love this romance and the love shown between Pain and Vanessa. A love story without cheating or miscommunication that would put the relationship in jeopardy.

Another great read with these characters and I couldn't put it down. So loved Pain and the love he had for Vanessa, Roby and Ashley. Vanessa, was such a strong woman and she deserved to be happy. Tre, tried to break her, but she'd outgrew him and his manipulated ways. He got exactly what he deserved. So loved the way everything turned out. Each story got better and better, I loved M. Monique growth in each book with each story. If you haven't read, A Thug Has Feelings series of books, you're messing a great series of books with great characters. Highly recommend the series. It was so much packed in this perfectly penned story! Pain was THE truth. The love he had for Vanessa,Roby and Ashley was so real you could feel it. He did not play about his OK. The way everything played out was just right, Ms Monique has been 1 of my favorite authors since I grab her first book. I loved the growth she displays in each story she delivers. I’m telling you to 1 click and get your whole entire life! If you haven’t read any of her other masterpieces start from the beginning with “A Thug Has Feelings”. Your writing is so intriguing. I love the way your characters just come together, and correspond with one another. I loved how pain went so hard for Nessa, and her kids. I loved the Nessa, allowed Pain to love her after being treated so bad by Tre. Tre was so trifling, that he couldn't give the mother of his children her proper respect that she deserved. This book was so good. Pane was the man who knew what he wanted and went after it. Vanessa went through it with her kids’ father but I’m glad she was able to get her mind right and recognize her self worth. I’m so glad her and Pane got their HEA.💃🏽💃🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Glad Tre and friends got what they deserved🤣🤣. This was a good read. Thank you👏🏽👏🏽🔥🔥

Every time I think I love her latest book, she releases another one and I’m conflicted. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way Pain loves Vanessa and takes on protecting her and her kids. Every woman wants and needs a man like Pain. To love us, protect us fearlessly and make us sit our butts down when needed. Lol and I loved her relationship with Pink. I’m so glad this was not a story where her BF turns on her. Can’t wait to read Pink and Carlos’ story. I truly loved this story! Great job

I have read all the books in this series and she never disappoints when it comes to these books. I can’t wait until the next book I the series. I would recommend all her books, while it’s not necessary to read the, because the all stand as their own story, you would do yourself a disservice not reading all of them and in order.

I swear, I could read about this family and group of friends forever! Although I’ve enjoyed every book by this author, this one was it for me. Honeyyy, if I can’t have a love like nessa and pain, i’on want it. This story got me so in my feelings right now. It was beyond great, beyond words! Absolutely wonderful!
