This is the 2nd Edition?

I have read through this book and the thought that kept occurring to me was "how do I know what they are writing here is correct..." The reason for the thought is there are so many misspellings and other errors it is hard to believe what they are writing about...what is really most concerning is the fact that this book is the 2nd edition! The editors either didn't read the book or they were drunk when editing...

Screenshots are unreadable in the print version

There's some pretty good beginner info in the book, but for the most part, the examples given for trades are useless, because the accompanying screenshots are so faint as to be impossible to read. Can't recommend the print version. Edit- Dropping this down to one star after looking at the book again. The publisher should be ashamed for offering this book for sale with this miserable printing quality. Don't buy this book.

Great book!

Options Trading: Quickstart Guide is like many of the books by this publisher, a quick no nonsense primer with a lot of information packed into an easy to read book. Unlike other books in the Quickstart series, this one does not have the table of contents links up in the kindle interface. A moderate drawback as I tend to go there in order to make quick jumps around in the text. There is still a table of contents, it's just at the beginning of the book in hyperlink format. So if you want to jump around, you'll first have to go there and then jump from that to what you are looking for. The six chapters in this book are: Chapter 1 - Options Basics Chapter 2 - Call and Put Options - Trading Fundamentals Chapter 3 - A Sound Options Strategy for a Beginner Chapter 4 - Key Influencers On the Price of Options Chapter 5 - Win at Options By Speaking Greek Chapter 6 - Popular Options Strategies Plus of course an introduction and conclusions section as well as a glossary and references. I have some stock experience but nothing really with stock options. This book gives an excellent basis to work from. I particularly like the many scenarios that are worked out throughout the text. All the online and regular old school offline investment firms like Ameritrade, Fidelity, etc offer relatively easy ways to get into stock options, but if you don't know what you are doing it's going to end in sadness, much sadness. Most of these brokerages offer some online training in all stock trading in general but also options trading and there are third party websites like dough that have training courses. I would suggest going through this book first as it will definitely impart all the basic knowledge you need to determine if this is even something that would interest you at all. There's no sense in jumping into detailed training on something that may not float your boat, on the other hand if it is something you're interested in, it's better to get a good foundation to learn from before jumping into the deep murky waters with intensive training. This books hits the sweet spot of imparting enough to give you a clue but not so much as to overwhelm you. I have acquired this product at a discounted rate in exchange for my fair and honest review. I take this very seriously, as I like many of you rely on these reviews when making purchases. Nothing has been asked of me other than to give an honest review of the product, and as you can see from my review history it has no effect on my opinion. As others have pointed out I would recommend that you don’t just look at the ratings on these reviews, focus on the reasoning behind the ratings as that will give you much more insight into the product. The reviewer may be looking at the product for an entirely different use or from an entirely different perspective than you are. What Charts?

The information in this book is well written and informative, but the charts are absolutely illegible. Options trading without chart views? Not a good plan.

Good to learn the basics

It's not bad at all if you're just getting started into options. Its an easy read under 1.5 hours. Most of the info here can be found easily online but, I like to have the book near me when trading sometimes to reference some basic fundamentals to options. I would say this is worth your money if you're just wanting to get your feet wet and understand the basics to options. The visualizations on some of the trades could be done better. There are other books out there that contain all the info here and much more but, this is more of a quick summary on options. No advanced strategies are mentioned in the book.

The book is great but they ran out of INK when it came to printing their (so called) multiple colored charts (can even read them). I'd like a new book with readable charts (why so long writing---been busy).

A primmer

Very basic book. I was a series 7 stockbroker for 21 years. The book reminded me of things I already knew but was not properly applying. It is a worth while primmer. A book that cost about $5 and has anything worth knowing about trading is stocks is a must.

Highly recommended if you can read extremely small prints

This book is very well written: concise (90 pages) and light to hold, easy to understand. I had experience in stock trading but not in options. I became able trade options after reading this book once. I don't mind to give 5 stars to that extent. One problem, though, is that the option tables with bunch of numbers are printed in very very small print, which I could not read by naked eyes. In fact, I could read only by enlarging 1.5 times using a copy machine.

Very Sketchy

Used this book for very basic how-to instruction. There is far too much filler-talk as in how seriously to take day-trading as an occupation. How to dress and to schedule your day are obvious.

Easy Options

A ton of information for beginner's and seasoned investors. This book explains options in a way that is easy to understand even for investors with no knowledge of options. I will use this book as a reference in the future.

Extremely Well Done

I bought the audible version; this book is an excellent teaching tool for those of us trying to learn options Trading. It does go a little fast, but I feel like I have a grip on options.

Poor quality

It’s missing a page!

Five Stars

Best Beginner's book so far. Will continue to read their publications

Five Stars

Trading options isn't like trading stocks, this book has helped me understand the difference between the two.

Not a good beginner book

The author focused on writing options and covered calls. These are not beginner topics and cost $thousands. Skip this book

Misleading title, glorified options dictionary.

As an options trader for over a year I still like to read books on the topic to pick up little nuggets of information. This book is nothing more than a dictionary for options trading. It's obvious the book was made for marketing of other services.

I will need a bit more time for this one. It's a little advanced for me currently.

I'm just learning about Options Trading and want to take my time reading and reviewing it so I understand it to my satisfaction. It seems to be a good book so far.

Not Worth the Price

Subject matter covered in this book is quite basic and could be found through internet research - not worth the price charged for the book.

Full of jargons, Book is short, Many concepts poorly explained,

I doubt a beginner will be able to trade options just from reading this book, The book uses just as much jargon as any other book, the fact that the book is short gives them very little time to explain anything well,

Excellent Read

This book does a fantastic job of explaining how to trade options. If you are interested in learning exactly how to make money trading options, look no further.

Very good book. They take the time to explain things that most books assume you know even when it's a beginners book. The narrator was very easy to listen to. 👍

Not Clear

The book does not explain clearly anything about options trading

Investments

Tables illegible due to poor printing

The test content is fine, but you cannot relate the text to the tables as the tables are too faint to reds. I returned the book.

Great book for beginner

This book is extremely helpful to a newbie like myself. It was quick to read and easy to understand. I would recommend this to anyone looking to get into the world of options. I know have a better understanding of the terminology and how an option is valued. Great read!

Very easy to understand

the book was easy to read and understand. Would recommend it to anyone new to options.

Recommend

It is pretty good with the explanations, and although I had to read it twice, it was and has been worth it. I had tried another book before and it was horrible, this, this one was great. I liked it. Thanks

Three Stars

Okay, not as detailed as a beginner may want it to be.

Great, Fairly Simple Baseline

Great book to establish a solid baseline understanding of Options, strategy’s to explore, and terminology. Left me hungry to read more Options books asap so I can expedite my progression on the Options learning curve.

Understand the functions of trading on the exchanges.

Good easy to understand information for starting out in options trading.

Easy To Understand

Very please with this book. While I still have a lot to learn about option i feel comfortable enough to get my feet wet. I will probably read this a couple more times and use a reference when dealing with option.

It provided the information I needed to get started.

Thank you!

Worth the read

Best one to buy for beginners benefit and enjoy your Trading

Are you interested in Trading and do not know how to start with? Then it is a best guide I would recommend. Editor has provided images wherever it is necessary. This book will surely makes your interest double in Trading but there are few other advanced topics not covered in this book. But book will really satisfy you if you are a beginner in Trading and eager to learn about it. I am sharing my honest opinion as I received this product (Options Trading: QuickStart Guide - The Simplified Beginner's Guide to Options Trading) at discount for unbiased review.

Great book

I really enjoyed reading this book

I really enjoyed reading this book. Having spent the last few years trading blue chip shares and spec shares I wanted to learn a different way to invest my money. This book is a great starting point to get a general understanding of option trading. I plan on re-reding this book again and also investing in a few other books on options trading as you can never learn to much! I would recommend this book to anybody looking to get started in options trading *Disclaimer - I received this book at a reduced price for an honest review

Good book

Gift for a beginner and easy to understand with good examples

Three Stars

Not real clear for me to understand. Guess this is just hard stuff.

Good primer

Clearly written with good examples. An associated app would have been nice. Eight more words to placate the Amazon deities.

great for beginners

Really good explanations. Check this out first if you're considering other books to read on options. It provides simple explanations and does a good job organizing the material.

Great Book for Beginners - Easy to read and lots of good information

This was a fantastic book for the person who has never done any options trading. It provides very basic information about definitions of terms and the basic strategies. The book is short enough to read in a day and is easy to understand. I keep this book handy and particular pages tabbed to use as a reference when I read other books or am doing research on my options trading for practice. Still haven't perfected it - yet! :)

Good Book

This is a good book to learn the basics. I recommend getting it of you know little to nothing about it. I received a discount to review this product.

Good beginner book

Good beginner book. Figures needs updating and clarity. But content is good for a broad overview.

Easy Read

Good book for beginners.

Just OK

Helpful advice. I was hoping that it would cover more insight into general, overall trading, but I felt it fell short of covering that in this book.

Indeed a QuickStart Guide to Options Trading

Good examples; easy to understand

Good Intro to Options

good intro to options trading for the beginner. Enjoyed it.

Great buy

Only bad thing was my iPhone did not sync well with audio. Otherwise great book to start my knowledge of options trading

Options trading finally explained simply enough.

Excellent information! Exactly what I've been looking for to decipher all the terms that have had me frustrated in the beginning stages of options trading.

Charts are garbage. Waste of time

Black print ok but charts (which are critical) can't be read. Charts are garbage. Waste of time.

Good overview in to the world of options trading

Great book for someone to read who is just starting out. It's not all encompassing but if will let you get the basic gist of options trading. I did really like that it does provide references to other books that you can read to get more insight. Overall a buy, good book to keep for basic reference. I received this Kindle ebook at a discount or free in exchange for my honest review.

A+++

Can Somebody Please Help Me !!???

The info in the book is useful - it condenses what is usually "all over the universe" language on options trading, to some "rifle shot" specifics, which can prove valuable when a trader/investor actually moves onto the "playing field/firing range". To be more capable to "make some shots", more often than "getting shot" . . . .

Learn the basics of investing without being talked down to!

As a beginning investor, this book is real educational. I learned so much from reading this instructional book. It helped me to understand the difference between the different types of investments and what to expect from each type. I received this book free in exchange for a review.

book review

The Yahoo! Finance screen shots included in this book were too small and the images were too fuzzy to be useful. There were several grammar errors in the text. It is a short read at 87 pages but a longer book that provides more detail would be better value for the reader's money.

I really hate to write a bad review on the basis of ...

I'm having a bit of an issue with the Options Trading Quick Start Guide. I presently trade Options on the stock market so I know how they are traded. Unfortunately this book presents some problems in how it is written to present the material to the reader, I really hate to write a bad review on the basis of how material is presented. The bulk of the info is correct the problem is in how it is presented to the reader, being an options trader I know what the author is trying to say but to someone just starting or not knowing anything at all about options the material presented would leave the reader lost or at best confused. I believe this book could be very good for a "quick start guide" for someone interested in getting into options trading, as it is intended to be, but as it is it just does not convey the content clearly. Options trading can be very rewarding but at the same time can be very risky, the worst thing a new options trader needs is info that is not clear and concise. having said that I can only give this book two star rating. I received this book for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review

> > > Options May Have Expiration Dates but The Information in This Excellent Book Does not

My most memorable experience trading Options goes 14 years back when I bought $1000 worth of RMBS Call Options at $0.10 ahead of a Patent dispute Ruling in a US court. A favorable decision shot the value of those options to $1.20 turning my $1000 investment into $12,000 which I readily cashed out. The story is true, but overtime I learned the hard way how r-i-s-k-y trading anything in the Stock market is. More than 50% of the trades I made in Options over the years either expired worthless or at a loss and overall I broke even. I only bought and sold options directly, never used them in any of the more elaborate ways explained in the book. Having a full time job, I never had much time to engage more fully in Options and I switched to almost exclusively investing directly in Stocks. Yet, I always enjoy reading good books on Options Trading for beginners. I commend the author for repeatedly reminding the readers of the risks associated with investing in general, and Options in particular. Some 75-90% of Option traders lose money on an annual basis. The consistent big winners are Market Makers and financial institutions. You must therefor arm yourself with good understanding of the subject matter and this book does a very good job for beginners or even for more experienced Options Traders. It uses actual Companies, Graphs, and Price-quotes to demonstrate Option trades of various flavors quite clearly. I think it also builds a good reputation for itself by recommending other sources and classic books on Options and a complete list of the sources it relies on. A basic glossary of terms at the beginning and a longer one at the end of the book add to its clarity. I would have liked to see a more elaborate discussion of The 'Marriage' Put - including a simple way to reach a ballpark value of how many put options one needs to purchase to protect against a crash in the underlying equity that one owns. (using the famous partial differential formula is well out of reach to almost all of us). Also, there is no mentioning of LEAPS - which may be a good alternatives for those who are too busy to deal with short term Options trading but still want to use options for leverage, 12-18 months into the future. Finally, maybe a couple of graphs illustrating the time-decay element could help visually with understanding the non-linear nature of Option prices in relation to Expiration. My interest and actual trading of options made me curious about reading this book and I readily accepted an offer to receive this product for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. It was enjoyable to read and helped me both learn new aspects and also clarified others. Interestingly, Options have been the topic of advanced academic research with one of the high points being the Nobel Prize in economics in 1997 to the developers of a sophisticated mathematical formula (Black-Scholes) which is a fascinating story of its own.

Quality material

Even though I worked in finances I was never really knowledgeable on options. It was a mostly vague topic to me. I was more knowledgeable in other types of stocks. Options can be risky so it good to start educating yourself about them if you are open to different types of ways of trading. There are different chapters that go from introduction to addressing the calls and puts in a simple manner. There are also diagrams and pictures that explain the steps to you which is really useful for a beginner. There are also useful links included should you want to further educate yourself on how to go about buying and selling options and which markets to go to. There is also a glossary of terms included towards the end. The book was about 65 pages long but it is very dense in material that will take time to process if you are serious about these kinds of trades. I honestly think that the high days of high yield trades are over. It will be a bear market from here on out. If your profit during these times more often than not it's an inside job because there is too much volatility. Overall I enjoyed this book. Disclaimer: I received this product at a discount for my honest and unbiased opinion.

He recently made some terrible investment decisions and it took quite a lot if ...

My SO and I are trying to learn about investing, managing our money and all that grown-up stuff that we've mostly avoided. This has caused some financial issues and so now we're playing catch-up. He recently made some terrible investment decisions and it took quite a lot if effort to get our money back from the scam. Our hope for this book is that it makes options trading understandable and to give us enough info to decide whether it's for us or not. The book starts with Options Basics, which includes a lot of definitions to help you understand what's out there. Useful and relevant websites and books are shared and this continues throughout this book. By the end of the chapter differences between stocks and options are clarified as is the risk/benefit level of trading options. Chapter 2 explains call and put in detail. Chapter 3 is about an options trading stratgy for a beginner and includes mistakes to avoid. Chapter 4 is about understanding the ins-and-outs of options pricing. Chapter 5 deals with metrics you need to understand. Chapter 6 covers popular strategies for trading options. We're really happy to have read this book. There's sections of this we've already marked for re-reading. We have a plan of action thanks to this book. We don't know everything, but we have a significantly better understanding than before. Explanations are pretty clear for some complex topics. We love that we have a multi-step plan now and options trading is not as mysterious or terrifying as it once was. Our hope for the book was realized. I received this at a free or discounted rate in exchange for my honest review. If you found this review helpful, please click yes below as I do my best to share my experience of the book with you.

Great financial help for the beginner!

Although I am still working my way through this book, I really like it! I know very little about the stock market and options trading, but am interested in learning. This book is a great tool for that. The beginning of the book offers definitions of several terms used in the industry. It doesn't assume that you know what these terms are, it instead caters to the average person who has little knowledge in this area. The financial world is very confusing, especially for someone who has never dealt with stocks, investments, 401k, etc. This book offers a great introduction to one sector of that world. I would definitely suggest this book to anyone who is interested in furthering their financial knowledge and portfolio. If my review was helpful please remember to click the button to mark it as helpful! I hope you find this review helpful in your decision to make this purchase. As a disclaimer, I received this product either for free or at a discount for our unbiased and totally honest review. In NO way have I been compensated by this company for our honest review. If I do see in the future that my view of this product changes with an even more extend use, I will update the star rating and this review to reflect updates.

Good book to get started with Options Trading

A good book to get you introduced to options trading. Not too much info, but just enough to push in the right direction. Chapter 1 - Options Basics Chapter 2 - Call and Put Options - Trading Fundamentals Chapter 3 - A Sound Options Strategy for a Beginner Chapter 4 - Key Influencers On the Price of Options Chapter 5 - Win at Options By Speaking Greek Chapter 6 - Popular Options Strategies One great thing they do is to warn of the risks in this type of trading. Great info for any beginner since It uses actual Companies, Graphs, and Price-quotes to demonstrate Option trades of various flavors quite clearly. I would have liked to see a more elaborate discussion of The 'Marriage' Put - including a simple way to reach a ballpark value of how many put options one needs to purchase to protect against a crash in the underlying equity that one owns. Overall, a good read to get into options trading. I was glad to have gotten this at a discount for my review.

I would recommend it!

I picked this book because I have absolutely no idea about options trading and wanted to learn some basics before investing seriously. Having a full time job, I don't have much time to read books so I picked this because I was told it was short yet informative read. After reading the book I put several options strategies to work with great results. It was the best of the three books I read on options trading (I read two other books after this - both these books were over my head.). It explains the need-to-know basics of options with some relevant history, gives good introduction into the current world of options, explains various kinds of options that are available (buying calls, naked calls, etc) and the different option trading methods that are being used in the current world. I really like the fact that this book used real life examples to explain a few things. For example, the author uses actual Companies, Graphs, and Price-quotes to demonstrate Option trades of various flavors quite clearly. Also, this book is short making it a slightly easy read. However, make no mistake, it's loaded with information. Right from the beginning, they're throwing some complicated terms at you. I strongly suggest people to take notes as they are reading because it helps with retaining most of the information and also serves as reference. The Options trading quick start guide audio book is really good too. The narrator is very clear, concise and speaks in a nice, deliberate tone that is easy to follow. It is a great reference because it did a good job of explaining the different complicated terms like: Delta, Gamma, Theta, Vega and Rho. For people's reference, the six chapters in this book are: Chapter 1 - Options Basics Chapter 2 - Call and Put Options - Trading Fundamentals Chapter 3 - A Sound Options Strategy for a Beginner Chapter 4 - Key Influencers On the Price of Options Chapter 5 - Win at Options By Speaking Greek Chapter 6 - Popular Options Strategies The book also includes an introduction and conclusion section as well as a glossary and references. Good reading, very informative. It's not a get rich quick scheme

This Kindle Book is very informative, I enjoy learning more about different trading ideas, and options (no pun intended) available. I think this book gives you a very good start in understanding all the ins and outs of the system and what you can do. It teaches you how to cover yourself, what you can do to minimize risks and how to make wise decisions based on market performance. This book in total is well over 1000 pages, so it's not a quick read, but it has a good table of contents and dictionary for understanding the terminology and quick reference for learning about different aspects of options trading. With the Kindle reader I could read this on my phone, tablet and computer. I really did enjoy this book and this whole "Quick Start Guide" series. I received this product for free or at a discount in exchange for testing, inspecting, and providing an unbiased review of the product. I am not compensated for my reviews and are all based on my opinion and my own experience with the product. If you found this review helpful please click "Yes" below!

Excellent primer with definitions and realistic scenarios for the beginner and also for more advanced option trading

This handbook was written for the beginner interested in options trading and the jargon used in the stock options trading environment. It is noted that this book is in reference to American-style options (in lieu on. European-style options). And, their primary claim is that you'd be ready to enter the world of option trading upon reading this book. I fit the true beginner. I went into this book really knowing very little about option trading other than the basics. I must say I first tried to read this book all the way at first. I had to stop and put it down. All of the different verbiage used in options trading became just words and I had stopped understanding. Finance is not my number one interest, so I looked forward to completing the book. The book starts with quick definition of terms used in option trading (1-2 sentences). At first I thought that was it, but then It delved in to the specific definitions and provides multiple scenarios as examples -- very nice. It readily recommemds: • To not invest more than you are comfortable with (e.g., 100 shares) -- in other words stay rational. • How to avoid beginner mistakes and use paper examples first. • To prepare for both gains as losses -- a reminder that losses do occur, so invest what your willing to lose. Whether you are using the beginner or the more advanced techniques described, there are a few continued themes represented in the book: • Only invest what you can afford -- as mentioned above. • Keep track of the dates. - the first one or two are easy, it's when you start having several options that it is important to track. • Establish a set of criteria for to follow and stick to it -- in other words,, make a plan and stick to it as closely as you can. All of the above points are mentioned since the book provides realism. A point that not all of the typical Finacial-based option trading books might offer. The other good part of the book is that it offers, footnotes, citations, websites for further study. It is quick to reference prior chapters -- (a helpful fact if you need to go back and check up on something). The book also offers websites where you can register and try "on paper" strategies before actually entering the real life of the option trades. Disclaimer: I received this book in exchange for my personal review. In summary, this book is an excellent primer on the terms and various scenarios in option trading. Of course, there is never a guarantee to make money, i.e., there are at times negative consequences. There is a different degree of risks in all things with respect to option trading.

Comrehensive Intoduction to Options Trading

Many years ago, when I was teaching a personal finance course at a university, I was looking for a short but comprehensive introduction to the use of options trading as an investment. I never found it. If it had existed, this is the book that I would have used with that finance class. It is a great introduction to options investing and has all of the components one would need to start a successful investment program. The book is very comprehensive in its treatment of options investing, and offers everything you would expect such a good introduction to have, such as a glossary of terms, footnotes, suggestions for additional reading, etc. It was a fun book to read and it packs a lot of information into a very short space. If you are interested in starting an options investment program, this would be the first place I would start. Full Disclosure: I received this product for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Terrible Images and Inadequate Explanations.

The many Yahoo “option chain tables” on my copy were so faded they were barely readable. The graphs (figs 15-18) were TOTALLY unreadable. That shouldn't happen. Meanwhile on every “option chain tables” that I've read elsewhere there has always been a column for Open Interest. What is the significance of Open Interest? This number was not even mentioned. Also the subject of excercising contracts was inadequately explained. What are the risks or benefits? What if the contract is assigned? My understanding is that in certain cases one can get burnt. For such an IMPORTANT aspect of option trading, the few references given were way too skimpy and scattered. Needed a definitive chapter with all the scenarios explained. Explanations of the basics should come before the fancy Greek metrics or complex option stategies.

Great refresher for options trading strategies

With only six chapters, this book surprised me. Granted, there are essential concepts of options trading that the book didn't manage to cover, but all-in-all it provides a fairly solid refresher of options trading strategies. I found the fourth chapter, on what influences the prices of options, to be the most useful, since getting a firm grasp on these "invisible hands" would allow you to come up with your own strategies. Of course, if you're just beginning or want to learn how others do it, chapters 3 and 6 offer a pretty comprehensive look at well-known options trading strategies. I didn't really get the fifth chapter on speaking Greek though. The main reason I'm not giving a full five stars is because it is a little more troublesome to use than the other QuickStart Guide books - you have to manually scroll to each chapter section because the Table Of Contents wasn't implemented correctly for Kindle. Honestly though - for what it covers, it's a good buy, especially since you can get it for $0.99 to read electronically, and it covers in a lot of detail what to do in various scenarios. I was gifted this ebook for review purposes.

Very informational. Highly recommended for beginners

This was a very good read! I'm just an average joe and not an options trader. I have done some in the past and might do some after reading this book. This book covers the very basics and intermediate (at least to me they are) strategies, terms, and philosophies in options trading. It is relatively substantial in length as well as reading. You could possibly get all this information on the internet, but with this, at least it's focused and organized, and in a digestible book form. I think this book would definitely be great for beginners. It's not pretentious or makes it difficult for newbies and doesn't make you feel that unknowledgeable either. Another great thing about this book is that it actually includes pictures. They're just screen shots of financial sites, but at least they are there and helpful. It would have been nice to have even more visuals for the different strategies with cool names. "The Iron Condor"? Heck, I'm going to do that just because of the name! I received this product at a free or discounted rate in exchange for an honest review. These opinions are my own. I appreciate and rely on honest and accurate reviews from others when making purchases.

Informative and easy to understand

Let me preface my review by saying I know (knew) nothing about the stock market or investing. I took an economy course in college and read an occasional news article about various companies' stocks, but other than that - zero knowledge. I felt that this ebook was very helpful in regards to learning about options themselves and options trading, and it was easy to understand without being condescending or TOO simple. The book explains what options are and the basics of options trading in a clear, concise manner. They do not make it over complicated or use excessive jargon. The terms and practices they do reference in the book, they always define and explain. There is also a very handy glossary in the back of the book, in case you forget a term them have previously defined. The book lays a lot of scenarios in options trading out in examples that translate to everyday life, which I felt made everything a lot easier to comprehend. It truly is a book that is informative without being overly complex. I'm not sure if the information in the book is enough to make you a skilled options trader, BUT it definitely gives enough for you to understand the basics, know how to go about starting, and to start understanding more complicated advice articles or speak with your broker at a level where you will communicate effectively (and the broker won't feel like you're a noob). I think this is ebook is a great tool for any beginner to learn about options trading. I certainly feel like I understand what it is and how to do it at an entry level, and I knew nothing about it (not even what it was) before reading this book.

Great for what it was and is

I think the topic of this book is a little difficult to put on paper and really have an effective way of getting information across. The problem is that there are so many elements to the topic and you're not going to be able to cover everything. I think it needs a little bit more of a robust approach as far as being able to detail the minute details. Options Trading is something that takes a lot of time and effort to be able to be fully understood. The book breaks down certain areas of the topic into different sections. I may have tried to create a better flow. It almost seemed like a list was just thrown down. Really good beginners guide.

Definitely a book for the beginner. I'm a n00b when it comes to options or trading in general and they really start at the beginning, with clear examples, lots of them. They also warn you about the risks involved, I've seen to many "quick rich" books (not about options) and this is "just" an explanation on how the option trading works. I had to make notes, because even though it is easy to read, and the basic principles are not that hard, you have to work your mind through it to understand what is "going on". No other way of saying it, I like to understand what it says, and for that I need notes. Not the books fault. I don't think I will conquer the stock-market after reading this, I definitely have a better understanding about the market and how it works.

easy to understand language

This book is written in clear, easy to understand language. It explains the basic strategies beginners to Options Trading can use, and defines the different options that are available. If you are considering getting into Options Trading I recommend that you read this book to learn some of the basics to start with, and the language used for different types of options. After reading this book I found that I am not quite ready to start getting into Options Trading, but when I am I will be reading this again because it is a good reference for beginners. One thing I noticed was the diagrams are a bit small and blurry, so they are hard to read. The diagrams are in black and white, but when they are discussing them, they mention colors. Great read and absolutely crucial for beginners

I really enjoyed this book for a multitude of reasons especially due to the fact that it truly is a guide for beginners to options trading. As they state in the beginning of the book many other books advertise themselves as books for beginners but don't really delve into the basics of options and instead assume that most people already understand what the basics are. This books begins by outlining many of the terms involved with the stock and options markets that are absolutely crucial to know before you start trading. Along with that the book also takes a look at many of the strategies to option buying and selling that even someone who is already an intermediate level options trader would not know. Thankfully with my knowledge of economics I had already had a firm grasp on the basics and I was able to skip to the more advanced material but even for someone who knows nothing about what options are this book does a great job of highlighting everything from a to z. I would highly recommend this as a read for everyone even those who already have a basic understanding of the workings of the options market because it does teach a lot of strategies that most people would never have used prior. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to try and diversify my portfolio with the skills I gained through this book. I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest review but this really is a great tool that I would promote to anyone who wants to better manage their retirement and investment accounts.

I had read a few other things but I always felt pretty dumb reading them

I didn't know anything about stocks and trading before I read this but I was interested in investing. I had read a few other things but I always felt pretty dumb reading them, as finance is not my best subject. I was inspired to want to invest from a friend who invested in Google before they became big but again, I've never been sure what to do. Options Trading made it easier for me to learn how to get into the stock market. I actually understand where to start, the best way to invest money and the smart decisions to keep me from failing. It's a pretty great book for a dummy's version of the stock trades. It is a bit dry, as any book about the stock market would be but it's simple enough a middle schooler could understand it. Full Disclosure: I received this product for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review but I would have bought it anyways. :)

Great book of options, nothing left out and over 1300 pages of relevant information. WoW. They give you a free gift too.

First off, I would like to say this is a perfect book for me. I have no experience in options. I do buy and trade on share builder but want to try out options. I do know that it is very risky but when it hits then it can hit big time. I am reviewing Options Trading: Quick Start Guide - The Simplified Beginner's Guide to Options Trading (Options Trading, Trading Options, Options Trading for Beginners) the Kindle Edition. This is a great eBook. I learned a lot from it. The contents are very lengthy and over 1300 of pages. This is not a quick read, what this is, is an extensive lesson in options trading. I have not finished it, but the 300 or so pages I have read are very informative, give me the information I need and I am starting to feel like I can hop in the market now. I would look for information on the computer before this and because there is so much information I would get information overload and give up. This book puts it in A to Z format and leaves nothing to chance. The book goes from Options basics to Strategies. It also comes with a free gift and vip membership which makes it really nice. Like I have stated before and I want people to listen, option trading is not for the faint at heart, you can even lose more money than you put in on some of them if I am reading right. If you have some extra money and the time to research, then this is for you. I am thinking oil has to go up soon and is why I want to pursue this. The when oil goes up produce the like will go up to pay for the gas bills, although they do not take the price down when oil drops lol. We can not win, but with Options I may have a chance to get ahead of the game and win. The stock market is too slow for me. I have been given a reduced rate or the item free in exchange for my honest review. Please look over my reviews and you will see I do not always favor a product. I do stand behind this one though. Thank you The NickSter

True to its title- a good quick start for beginners.

I've traded stocks before, but I honestly had no idea of what options really were, much less how to trade them. This volume is a thorough, quick overview of the basic concepts you need to grasp regarding options. The books cover basic ideas, the fundamental components (in detail) of making a trade, and influences on prices. There are also chapters both on strategy for beginners as well as popular strategies to be considered after building some experience. I particularly appreciated the in depth look at the analysis tools (Chapter 5 Win at Options by Speaking Greek). Analytics are useless if you don't understand the meaning behind the stats you're reading. This chapter gives a really decent introduction to understanding what all that data mean, I received a complimentary print copy of this book for review purposes. Opinions expressed are mine alone.

Great beginner guide

I really liked this Quickstart guide. I feel it touched all the basics and really gave me knowledge on how Options trading works. It went over everything I needed to know to understand if this was something I wanted to get into or not. I like the break down and explanations. Nothing was too hard to understand. I never felt bored or overwhelmed. It was a fairly quick read and the layout was nice. I feel like I am well informed on how Options works and I think I will look more in-depth at I am even more intrigued now. great starter guide and I recommend if you have no prior experience. Best options trading book out there!!!

I highly advise checking out this book. I must say, it's not for everybody. If you are already very knowledgable about the world of options trading, then you probably don't need this book. However, the world is changing. People need to know about options trading, and if you're uninformed, this is the place to begin. I would recommend this book to anyone even partially interested in options trading. Don't worry, because there's nothing to worry about. Just learn. After all, that is what we're here to do. When you stop learning, you start dying. I received this book at a discounted price for my obviously informed, unbiased, and completely and utterly honest review.

Presents Well But I'm Not Ready

“Full Disclosure: I received this product for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review” I received the paperback Options Trading QuickStart Guide - The Simplified Beginner's Guide To Options Trading - from ClydeBank Business. This 70-page publication is made up of six chapters, an introduction, a conclusion, and a glossary. The print is large and easy to read with smaller italics font thrown in for notes. The many figures presented throughout the publication appeared to be original color images presented in gray scale and are difficult at time to view. The six chapters in this publication cover: Chapter 1 - Option Basics Chapter 2 - Trading Fundamentals Chapter 3 - A Sound Strategy for a Beginner Chapter 4 - Key Influencers On Options Prices Chapter 5 - Win at Options By Speaking Greek Chapter 6 - Popular Options Strategies It has been a long time since I last "played" in the Market with the buying and selling of stocks. My recent market plays over the years has been primarily through mutual and target funds. So I thought I would look into option trading for personal investing. As of this writing I have not fully grasped the concepts presented. My experience in option trading is limited to the basics learned from this publication. However, the publication does present a practice makes perfect suggestion by one creating a virtual portfolio to develop confidence in "paper" trading. The publication does its job in presenting the subject of options trading. However, I am not ready to jump in with the sharks until I can enhance my abilities with the aid of a virtual portfolio and option trading simulator.

If you want to understand options trading then get this book!

I was interested in options trading so ordered this book. It is so well written and includes scenarios that are easily understood. They do suggest it might be helpful to grab a notebook and take some notes and work out some scenarios of your own. I actually did this and it DID help me understand the flow of things. I will tell you that there is a LOT of information in this book! Some of it is like trying to solve a story problem. I had to read some chapters over again till I got it! And I ultimately did. Thank you! I received this product for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review

Terrible Graphics / illustrations

The Tables in this book were unreadable. More specifically, same were printed so lightly that the reader could not discern. As I, a visual learner, found this profoundly frustrating, as it diminished my (hopeful) learning experience. That said, while the text attempted to cover a very broad range of investment options tradingin as few number of pages as possible, the overall publishing attempt was muted by the crappy Tables. That said, the text should have been somewhat longer to elucidate the value of the intelligence. Bottom line: DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK !!!!

The section of the book I found most interesting was Chapter 6, Popular Options Strategies...

Options Trading QuickStart Guide: The Simplified Beginner’s Guide to Options Trading is just like it sounds – an introductory guide to options trading. The book is ideal for people who know very little about options trading and are not yet sure if they would like to study this subject. Interested customers might choose this guide so that they can absorb a lot of new information in a short time frame; the book is a quick 69 pages, but is packed with valuable information. The section of the book I found most interesting was Chapter 6, Popular Options Strategies, which introduced me to terms such as “The Butterly Spread” and “The Iron Condor.” *I received a copy for review*

Great!

Great starter book

I really enjoyed this introduction to options trading book. I have been wondering about the stock market and how to get started. This book makes it simple for people to understand although there is a wealth of information it's clear and simple to follow. I received this book for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review, all opinions expressed in this review are my own. I am under no obligation to leave a positive review.

Great book for Beginner who looks for options trading

This is a great book for beginner who looks for options trading. This book provides an extensive look at the fundamentals of options trading which is written simple language This book covers different topics like 1. Different types of options 2. Options vs Stocks 3. Strategy for a Beginner on options trading 4. Popular options strategies This book helped me to understand the difference between the different types of investments and what to expect from each type. I received this book for free in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

For new options traders

It is atypical of me to acquire an audio book, but I have to say this one is very good. I found the information within applicable and relevant. The narrator has a very nice voice that is crisp and clear. The explanations are understandable and concise. It is filled with useful information that can be applied by anyone that is actively trading. The narrator even goes over historical information related to options trading to help gain a better perspective. For individuals that are new to or have a limited knowledge of options trading, this is a great purchase. I received this item at a discount in exchange for my honest, unbiased review.

Great learning tool for stock options

Let me preface this by I'm new to trading. I've got a Vanguard set it and forget it 401K where it does all the work for you. I also threw some money at a few mutual funds a few years back and have just let them sit. I'm as uneducated as it comes regarding the stock market. That being said, I want to learn more. Who knows...maybe someday, this information will help me become my own boss! This book is short, but it's loaded with information. Right off the bat, they're throwing terms at you. Be prepared to take notes if you want to retain all the information. I've had to re-read multiple sections of it, which means that it's been slow reading, even though it's so short. Maybe people with trading experience would know more of the terms, but I want to make sure it's all sinking in. Because of this, it's not an easy read, but it's very informative, and I do recommend it. Essentially, options are the right (but not obligation) to purchase something at a certain price as long as it's within a certain timeframe. This book explains how to get started I received a copy of the Kindle ebook at a discount in exchange for my honest review but all opinions stated here are my own.

I think it is a great book for people like me (starters) who are new ...

I received the kindle version of that product a couple of weeks ago. I am a working young professional who wants to save money and buy a house. I think it is a great book for people like me (starters) who are new to the market. It teaches you how to make wise investment decisions and add value to your money. You will learn new terms and how the market works, I would recommend it to anyone! I received that product for free in exchange for my honest review.

Where to look for your most important question. Mine was Straddles, Strangles, etc.

The book is well organized and fitted my purpose. I am still a bit mystified but at a senior age, I guess that is to be expected.

Nice guide for options, good for novice trader like me starting on the subject

I have read this book and from a novice trader in options I feel comfortable with it. It will give you the basics for you to have a test of Options, which is good, but as the title says Option Trading Quick Start Guide, this is going to be your initial book on the subject. At this point for me is ok, since I am starting to investigate on options. Full Disclosure: I received this product for free in exchange for my review

it is always good to know how options work

“Full Disclosure: I received this product for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review Delivery to your kindle app is fast. I have the chance that I read a couple of books about options, This ebook will give you the basics that you need to know before trying to jump into options. You are still requiered to read about the diffrent strategies for investing on options. I personally think options are an investment to stay away of, but it s up to you to decide whether it s for you or not. This book will help you grasp the basics, it is always good to know how options work.

Great Intro to Options

Full Disclosure: I received this product for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review Anything dealing with Finances and trading is not my specialty. But, I am very interested in increasing my knowledge in this area and this book was a great resource to help me understand the basics of Options Trading. I'm sure I could have found most of the info via the internet but it was nice to have all of this info gathered in one place and organized in such a way that was easily digestible by someone who has little to no experience in options.

This kindle book is convenient to say in the least ...

This kindle book is convenient to say in the least. To able to effectively communicate something than can be as complex as finance and investing takes knowledge and patience. I appreciate the effort that went into this book. I got this as a gift for my honest review.

Exactly as Expected

Just as the front cover would suggest, this is a "Quickstart Guide". This is not a book for the experienced trader with years of experience under their belt. This is for the young professional who wants to take the first step towards learning a new subject. The book is well organized, clear cut and to the point. This book doesn't have all the information but it provides a respectable overview of a complicated subject. Full Disclosure: I received this product for free in exchange for an honest and unbiased review

Quick read

Helpful, simple to follow. Paired with other books, it is likely to instill confidence in options trading.

Two Stars

This is the book you would read before taking the 101 class.

Need to improve

This one is quiet good but not so as I expected

Simply PUT. Pun intended

It is written for the beginner and easy to understand.
