Large print is not over large. With Stanley’s Life Principles in it, it is the best Bible that I have ever seen.

Although this version only comes in “large print” this concerned me until I contacted intouch.org, Charles Stanley’s organization. They responded that it was larger print than most Bibles, but not huge. I found this to be true and actually was a good thing, because I don’t like tiny print. I did not realize that some Bible versions/editions continue to be updated, as is the case here, with the advent of new technology and knowledge. I prefer this edition over all others, because it is still sort of poetic, but it is without the KJV thee and thou. Plus, since the way I understand it, the King James Version was at the behest of the king, this may make it not completely reliable in my opinion. We know what happens to people who don’t please the king. Henry the Eighth, for instance. Charles Stanley’s remarks about verses in this Bible made simple things in verses meaningful in reference to other parts of the Bible. His site has sermon notes that are complete and stand on their own without having to watch every sermon on the site. I know typical television sermons are easy to automatically bypass, but Stanley’s sermons today are very interesting and inspiring. His sermon is on Saturday evenings, Sunday mornings and evenings on different channels of the same sermon. Charles Stanley, who has to be pushing mid to late 80’s is a treasure. I just skip the first five minutes of the music. You ought to give it a chance. He doesn’t spare any punches, so if you are wanting that younger dark headed trillionaire’s everything is rosey message, you won’t find it here. These days in religion, preachers are too often more concerned with not offending anybody, than with telling it to you straight. Stanley does not gloss over the truth, but he is not fire and brimstone either.

Very Pratical Bible

This Bible for myself is an absolute Godsend. I have many study Bibles that teach many things in Theology but when it comes to Pastoral Theolgy ie practical application of the Word lacking. I was getting knowledge, but much to be desired in wanting more of what God wanted in my walk. Charles Stanley through his 30 Life Principles has given me a good foundation of Principles to live by. From a Pastors position he shows much in what our Principles should be and I have found much encouragement through his notes of his principles. Not every verse has a note, but many of his writings are article in size especially the introduction to each Principle. It's a form of a discipleship Bible. This Bible would be excellent to someone who needs a little structure in making sense in how we are to live before God and our walk with Christ. I bought the Kindle version and I've seen no problems and is easy to navigate. Highly recommended

You won't go wrong with this study Bible

The Bible doesn't feel cheap at all and surprisingly it feels very light in the hands so it is a Bible you can take to church. The notes are very good coming from a great teacher which he is very conservative in his Biblical views. The pages are somewhat thin but not too thin. I LOVE the text size which to me looks bigger than a 10 point font size like it says in the description. The fonts on the Charles Stanley Bible is much bigger than all my other large font size so that tells you a lot. This Bible for the price is excellent. If you decide to buy it, you won't go wrong with this Study Bible. The NIV was translated by a committee that holds to the inerrancy of Scripture so you can rest assured that God used these folks to give us a trustworthy translation. May the Lord bless you all and may you always read God's Word so that your faith may continue to grow in Christ and that you may be transformed into His image. spiritualminefield.com

I love Dr. Stanley's commentary in the form of Life ...

I love Dr. Stanley's commentary in the form of Life Examples of how God worked in the lives of the children of Israel. And how he reveals this through 30 Principles he gleaned from God's Word over the years. For example: Principle #26 "Adversity is a Bridge to a deeper relationship with God." We can see how the Lord used the adversity in David's life to draw him closer to Himself. If it weren't for such adversity we would not have the Psalms. Each of Dr. Stanley's Articles, Life Lessons, 30 Life Principles and additional commentary, even the introduction to each Book, further illuminate the heart of God and allows us greater insight and understanding into how the Lord may be working within our own life. Everyone would be blessed to have a copy of Charles F. Stanley's Life Principles Bible. And it comes in three translations: NKJV, NASB & NIV. The NKJV has profoundly enriched my relationship with God's Word and increased my intimacy with Him these past several years. It was time for a new one and I am loving my 30 Life Principles NASB! If I had the means, I would give a copy to each of my friends and loved ones.

I love it! I was comparing the NIV Bible in book form versus the Kindle Version. I opted for the Kindle Version and I am very pleased. I like being able to read it on my Fire 7 without needing lighting to read. It is also easier to read and flip through the Life Principles that give added information on verses and footnotes, etc. It is easier to take with me when I travel because of the Fire 7's size. Whether you purchase the Kindle Version or the Bible in book form, the NIV Life Principles Bible is a wonderful addition to studying God's Word.

Charles Stanley LIfe Principles Bible

I have always enjoyed Charles Stanley's sermons and devotional books. I like the commentaries in this bible as they are applicable to the scriptures and to our daily lives. Food for thought. The font is easily readable for older eyes. I like this bible.

I find that I like the NIV translation.

Joined a new Bible study group, we follow Dr. Stanley and In Touch Ministries, figured I’d update my Bible. It’s different, but I find I really like the NIV translation. It’s funny to me, when I updated from King James to New King James I found it different as well.

Joined a new Bible study group, we follow Dr. Stanley and In Touch Ministries, figured I’d update my Bible. It’s different, but I find I really like the NIV translation. It’s funny to me, when I updated from King James to New King James I found it different as well.

Mistakes

There are some mistakes in the “Life Lessons” area in the Kindle version of this book. In the book of Job and the book of Isaiah, the area you are directed to when you click on some of the “Life lesson” links is incorrect, and can be quite confusing as the subject matter discussed in the “Life Lesson” does not apply to what you just read in the actual Bible part of the book. There may be more, or it may just be my download, but it is worth mentioning. The convenience of this Kindle version outweighs this slight inconvenience of this glitch to me. Minus 1 star for the glitch, not the book.

Very nice handy study bible.

All of the life principles throughout this bible are very important to apply to your daily life. Follow dr Stanley or not, his perspective is interesting and thought provoking. The pages are thin, so you probably don't want to use a highlighter. A ballpoint pen or colored pencils work best.

Wonderful content, Bad quality binding.

I love the Stanley NIV Life Principles Bible for its content but I am very disappointed in the quality of the binding. I have carried my bible in a cover the whole 2 years I’ve had it and the binding has now broken at the back cover.

Great study Bible. Happy with It💟

Love this Bible. I'm grateful to have purchased and it's very helpful for me to be inspired by Dr. Charles Stanley's notes and insight as well as encouragement from a man of God. Thank you!!

Awesome bible

I absolutely love this Bible I will be buying another one real soon. It took me buying 4 or 5 bibles before I found this one and I love it thanks Charles Stanley I particularly like the life lessons at the bottom of each bible page

Wonderful

I am loving reading this large print Bible. Anything from Dr. Stanley is always great. Packaged well and received on time. Would order again!

Easy to read and understand

I really like the Life Lessons that are included. A big help in understanding the scriptures.

Be Aware: This is a Large Print Bible

Just got this and wanted to let everyone know that this is a large print Bible. It isn’t super large font, but still large print and as a result makes the overall Bible larger than normal. I’ll probably just keep it since it will most likely not be a “carry Bible” anyway, but wish it wasn’t large print. Other than the improper description the overall quality seems fine and the Life Principals study notes seem pretty good. Again, just received it, so I haven’t spent too much time reading it yet. Dr. Stanley is fantastic , assisting us understanding the word of the Lord

Turn to the Lord for everything good & questionable. Dr Stanley , helps us understand the Lords word for all of us in our own unique fashion. I have never left empty after a read I highly recommend this bible

Inspirational, Insightful, Incredible!

I order this Bible for gifts. I'm on my 3rd copy for myself. Great for someone starting to read the Bible, or even a seasoned Christian looking for fresh inspiration and insight.

Five Stars

I love this Bible. It has been a tremendous blessing to me. It makes understanding the Bible easy.

Very easy to read typeface but the pages are very thin and page bleedthrough is distracting

This is a review of the Charles F. Stanley Life Principles Bible, NIV version. I enjoy reading from this Bible. The cover is not what I'd call hardcover in any way, shape or form. It's not hard, rather it is covered in a synthetic leather material called Leathersoft. It's got a very nice feel to it and the binding lays flat right out of the box, no breaking in the binding necessary. The font size is perfect for me. A generous font size that seems larger than the 10pt size mentioned in the description.Whatever the font size actually is, it makes this very easy to read even in dimmer light. I've got a few older Bibles that I've had since long ago days when I could easily read tiny print. No more, so this font size is much appreciated. Not so much appreciated is the extremely thin paper used which allows a significant amount of page bleedthrough. Fortunately the larger font size makes the bleedthrough less troublesome than it would be if a smaller font were used. What I enjoy the most about this Bible are the Life Principles, Life Lessons and Life Examples that are interspersed throughout the text. These give me a richer and more thoughtful experience with a greater understanding of applying God's word to my life when reading the Bible. Charles Stanley is such a blessing and his wisdom and way of expressing it is solid gold, A thorough index, great concordance and maps make this a well-rounded and enjoyable to read Bible. Although I prefer the ESV and NASB translations, the NIV does present a more modern translation that you may prefer.

Helpful; Worth Having (Maybe, Though, Not As Your Primary Bible). Not Advertised As Such, But I Received A LARGE PRINT Version

Let's get the possible "negatives" out of the way right off. First, it's a specialty Bible that - in this case - highlights Charles Stanley's shtick ("life principles"). Not that his "life principles" are a bad thing (they're not), but they can deflect attention away from Scripture and/or pigeon-hole Scripture. This is the problem with any "specialty Bible": good (actually, many are simply excellent), but narrow/limited. So if one is going to have one of these specialty Bibles on-hand I strongly recommend having a "less-special" Bible on-hand (or, if one can afford it, several non-reference and reference Bibles). Always better to let the Word of God come through both unfiltered and/or through various lenses. Okay, possible "negatives" out of the way, on to the positives. First, price. At $34.42 (Amazon price at the time of this review) it's a great deal. The Bible sports a nice lay-flat binding bound with a very appealing leather-ish cover and spine. Pages are typically Bible-thin, but presented no problems for my fat fingers. One unintended plus was that it is a "large print" Bible. Wasn't expecting one; didn't want one, but turns out my wife does. This edition is the NIV (2011) and for all its supposed faults (I won't get into that argument here) it is very readable. The concordance and maps are the NIV standard; Stanley doesn't add or change anything here. It is NOT a "red letter" Bible. I really like the organization of the "Life Principles" index towards the front of the Bible. And, of course, I'm a fan of Stanley's "life principles." In the end, Stanley preaches sound, conservative, orthodox (at least as far as Protestant evangelicals are concerned) Christian principles. If you find his approach/views helpful, then I would suggest taking advantage of Amazon's "Look Inside" feature and read pp. vii & viii (where Stanley introduces the LP Bible). If you like what you read, take the plunge! 5 stars.

The NKJV has profoundly enriched my relationship with God's Word and increased my intimacy with Him these past several years. It was time for a new one and I am loving my 30 Life Principles NASB! If I had the means, I would give a copy to each of my friends and loved ones.

I love it! I was comparing the NIV Bible in ...

Love this bible!

One of the best bibles ever! Love all Charles Stanley work he's the best there is serving the Kingdom.

Thousands of Years of Wisdom and Comfort

This Bible is incredible. I can't believe I am walking around with thousands of years of wisdom that can almost fit in my coat pocket. Thank you Dr. Stanley for this edition of the Bible that I can take everywhere. I'm very thankful to have God's Word with me wherever I go.

It's absolutely awesome!!

This bible shows you how to apply biblical principles to your everyday life. It's absolutely awesome!!

Love the Life Lessons and overall layout

The Charles Stanley Life Principles Bible (NIV version) is a very well-made hardcover with large print and Dr. Stanley’s life principles for Christian living interspersed through the pages. Also, it is easy to use because the pages lie flat wherever you happen to open them. I own several Bibles and generally use the NKJV or the Complete Jewish Bible for a better understanding of scripture and word studies, however, I am impressed with the lessons in this work. Each life principle is listed in the front Bible examples, answers to life’s questions, life examples and life lessons with all the related scriptures in an easy-to-find place. I had never seen these life principles listed before, but after reading about them I decided to use this text to make a Bible study out of each one. I have a few misgivings about the NIV version, but any word inconsistencies or omissions I can rectify by turning to another version deemed more faithful to the original Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek texts. Nevertheless, I am very happy with this Bible and know I will get many years of use from it.

Without question, the best life-application study Bible I've seen

The first thing that struck me was this bible is easy to read -- the font and spacing seems to make it much easier on the eye. For people who dislike reading Bibles with ultra-small text, this will be big plus. It's not an over-sized font; it's just a little bigger than normal, AND it has a good amount of "leading" ... aka white space between the lines to of text. Now the content: This is probably the best life application study Bible I've come across. Beyond the thirty life principles that Stanley spaces throughout the book are thousands of "life lessons," which appear at the bottom of practially every page, Additioanly, each life principle is associated with about a dozen "Answers to Life's Questions" as well as "Life Examples" of these principles in action. The Life Principles Index at the front of the book makes it EASY to find what you're looking for, and directs you to specific page number and specific verses to find what I just described. This not only creates a time-saving help for any seasoned believer who's preparing a lesson, it's also an excellent way to for people new to the Bible to get oriented and feel more confident in what they're reading. Bottom line: This Bible earns my highest recommendation - be it for a long-time believer or someone who has never cracked open a Bible in their life. Five stars, without question.

High-quality Bible

This is a beautiful, high-quality Bible. Charles F. Stanley has been preaching for over 30 years. I've enjoyed his sermons, so I was excited to get this Bible. His commentary is called "Life Lessons" and is based on Stanley's "Life Principles" for Christian living. The commentary is very easy to understand, and is enlightening. The commentary does give some historical context but it mainly focuses on the how to apply the Scriptures to ones on life. Each book of the Bible has an introduction page explaining the background of the book including themes, time period, and structure. The Bible is very well-made with a good cover. The cover is not real leather but it's still nice. The pages are a good quality. The font looks to be larger than the standard 10pt font. This makes this Bible very easy to read. I own many Bibles but I can already see this one will become my new favorite.

Excellent NIV Large Print Bible

First off, this is a large print Bible. It is 10.5-point text size, very easy on the eye. The paper is of good quality and thin, but not too thin that text on the opposite side would show through and interfere with your reading. The hardcover book is sturdily bound with a printed cover wrap. It can be fully open and laid flat on a table. It seems like a Bible that you can carry and read daily without worrying about it falling apart anytime soon. I really like the study materials in this Bible. Dr. Stanley's 30 Life Principles are essential and life-changing. Each of these principles is explored in depth and how it may be applied to your everyday life. The study Bible also comes with other helpful resources such as book introductions, life lesson verse notes, life examples articles, God's promises for life, a good sized concordance and color maps. I'm thrilled to have received this study Bible. The Scriptures in large print are easy to read and the study materials are helpful. The quality of the paper and binding appears to be durable, which as a study Bible that gets tons of use is important to me. This will be my go-to Bible for the months and years to come.

Size of the text is perfect for me, even more of a joy to read, and includes helpful, practical information, easy to understand

No surprise that Dr. Stanley has done an excellent job on this Life Principles Bible (NIV). First, I love the size of the text. It makes it even more of a joy to read God's word. Next, Dr. Stanley introduces each book and gives the history of it, as much as we know about how it was written, the themes, author, time period, and structure. Especially helpful is a little blue block which gives you guidance about what to watch for as you read that particular book. At the end of each book of the Bible, Dr. Stanley has added a block with 'Answers To Life's Questions' which are interesting and practical, not at all boring or stuffy. They are written in a way that makes it a good use of my time to read, not at all a chore or something I have to make myself do. This is very well done. It's right up at the top with my favorite Bibles.

A one-stop study Bible for Charles Stanley's teaching

For those who have been blessed by the ministry of In Touch Ministries and the teaching of Charles Stanley, this edition of the NIV Bible will be a wonderful addition to your bookshelf. Also, for those who need some basic discipleship, and like to get that teaching from a study Bible, this particular Bible will be helpful. This Bible has uses the NIV version. It has many helpful notes at the bottom of the page. The Charles F. Stanley Life Principles Study Bible also has an introduction to the "Life Principles" from Stanley's teaching littered throughout. It has a teaching guideline in the front of the Bible, and has one of the best concordances in a study bible that I have seen in a Bible of this sort in the back of this study Bible. Charles Stanley is not for everyone, but for many this will be a helpful tool to study their Bible and be taught by Charles F. Stanley at the same time.

Comprehensive and easy to understand..

This Bible far exceeded my expectations. It is a full size Bible with good size print, making it easy to read. It is beautifully bound in a brown faux leather cover with gold lettering. Inside is a dedication page and the box makes this perfect for gift giving. As for the contents, this uses the NIV translation of the Bible. There are several pages in the forward of the Bible with information and indices for scripture verses relating to various life lessons and principles. The back pages serve as a reference to scripture on various topics. Throughout the Bible are "life lessons" that help explain the relevancy of passages to today's Christian life. There is such a wealth of information here. If you are looking for a study Bible that is comprehensive yet easy to understand, this is it. It is certainly the one I am keeping by my bedside.

NIV Charles Stanley Life Principles Bible

As a long-time student of Charles Stanley via internet and television, I have been looking forward to this product. Like what I see: - Good introductory information on each book (theme, author, time, structure). - 8 color maps of the Middle East in various time frames. - Good sized font (makes for easy reading on the eyes). - Helpful concordance of around 280 pages. - 30 life principle articles of various topics. - Examples of people in the Bible and their life experiences. - Life lessons that can be learned from several Bible verses. Will be a very helpful future reference!

Love it ! Looks great , easily read and great insights

Excellent Study Bible Large enough print I’d say 10pt or so Great insights and explanations Useful for self use and for teaching kids to adults Dr Stanley gives you some insights you can incorporate into a lesson OR just learn from It is very good as a learning / understanding the Bible and life applications better It looks GREAT as well I’d highly recommend

Nice Bible....

This is a lovely Bible. The cover is soft, which is always a great quality to have in a Bible cover(at least to me). The print is wonderfully large. My parents are huge fans of Charles Stanley, so I was curious to become more familiar with him. He has his thoughts scattered throughout the pages, and while I don't have the same views on everything as him, it's been enjoyable. This is a nice Bible, especially if you are a fan of Charles Stanley.

A most beautiful Bible indeed

This is indeed a beutiful Bible. It's crowded with study material. The print is not exactly large print, but it's easy to read. This would make a beautiful gift Bible, and certainly would be a wonderful gift to give yourself. The study material will challenge even a long time Christian. This is certainly a great learning Bible as well as great for your daily inspiration.

Excellent Bible

I have been using this Bible the last month or so for my reading in while I watch my church's Sunday service, during my devotions and while I am doing Bible Study. I really like the Life Principles that are scattered throughout the Bible and the overview that is at the beginning of the books. This is the NIV version.

This is an excellent Bible. It has many features designed to help you understand what you're reading such as the Life Lessons. I especially like the larger print. It's large, but not too large.

Great bible, great features

Great bible that has the Life Principles of Charles Stanley throughout the bible. Larger print also makes this a must have for us older folks. Our cover sure smells like leather, but I'm not convinced it is.

The way this Bible puts life principles in your palm. Very easy to read and comprehend.

This is the best NIV Bible I have ever owned. The life principles are a joy to read and share.

Fully recommend it.

Excellent, easy to read and full of addition information.

Totaly happy

I absolutely love this bible

Inspiring and beautiful

This Bible is beyond what I expected. Beautiful quality and great attention to detail. This copy of God's word is as inspiring as Dr. Stanley's sermons about the scripture. I highly recommend this copy.
