Not as Good as Other Books in This Series
I love the "Devotions" series books, but I can't say this one is one of my favorites. It follows the same format as "Devotions for the Beach (and the Days You Wish You Were There)" and "Devotions from the Garden", but it seems to be geared more towards moms than women in general. What I love about the "Devotions for the Beach" is that it focuses on all types of women - married, single, with kids, without kids, etc. But this one seems to really focus on moms with kids, and I'm single, so I don't get much out of it. Will probably pass it on to one of my mom friends - they should be able to get more from it than I have.
Simple but beautiful devotions with nice photos
Very nice devotional with beautiful pictures. It kind of brings back memories of visiting my grandmother as a child. The devotions themselves are nice. Basic and simple, but nice. My reason for 4 stars instead of 5, is because they are very basic. But I still enjoy it.
Love this book. I have all of Stacy Edwards Devotional books.
I loved this book so much I ordered more for Christmas gifts for family. I love the author. She is amazing. Love how she has everyday stories to go along with the Bible scriptures.

Devotional for cooks & home chefs
We all have that one person in our lives, maybe it's our mom, grandma, or even a devoted friend that you can always count on being in the kitchen, who thrives in sharing her gifts of cooking and hosting with her family and friends. When we lived in Colorado I was always baking bread, there was always a sourdough starter in the fridge and we ate fresh bread each day. Even though our eating habits have changed and there are times, I don't want to be in the kitchen. My kitchen is a bit of a haven of sorts, it's were real life happens and your fed physically and spiritually. In Devotions from the Kitchen Table, there are 90 bible inspired devotions for the reader to enjoy all inspired by your kitchen, being in the kitchen and from the act of cooking. The best part about this devotional is it isn't dated so you can ready it and pick it up at any time. Perhaps you could use it as an opportunity to reflect with your family at the kitchen table or perhaps enjoy a quiet morning or evening read at your table inspired by God's word. I was a little bummed when there weren't any recipes, it seemed like a great place for a recipe or two but alas. This book is full of full color images and gorgeous text. But no room for writing in so I recommend a journal to put down your thoughts or prayers while reading this one. I received this book for free in return for an honest review.
Gorgeous, inspirational and full of blessings...
SUMMARY: Filled with 90 devotions surrounding the kitchen, Devotions from the Kitchen Table invites readers to rest a moment, pause with friends, gather at the table, and enjoy the many blessings bestowed in the comforts of home. Supper, pinwheels, crumbs, gardening and fingerprints are just a few of the many two-page devotionals included in this new book by the author, Stacy Edwards. Coupled with gorgeous photographs in each short yet full devotion, the pale pink ribbon only magnifies further this beautiful and inspirational devotional. A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS: Charming, delightful and brilliant describe this warm and pleasurable devotional. With thicker, shinier pages full of colorful photographs, a short message themed around a Bible verse, scripture references and a prayer to keep close to your heart throughout the day, I would be happy to receive as well as proud to give this stunning book. Based on thoughts from the kitchen (dishes, desserts, coffee, laundry), when joined with scripture and personal stories, this devotional seeps relief, contentment and happiness. The only thing that could possibly have made this even more enjoyable would have been included recipes for the lovely pictures. Well done! RATING: 5 (out of 5) pennies *I received a complimentary copy of Devotions From The Kitchen Table from BookLook Bloggers for my honest review*
Beautiful and Thought Provoking - has me meditating on the Lord all day long
Devotions from the Kitchen Table by Stacey Edwards is one I picked up because my parents' kitchen table changed my life. And it changed, and continues to change, the lives of so many people. I have a love for "the table" and have written about it often here on Inspiration Clothesline. After reading the book Bread and Wine by Shauna Niequist I began to really explore this concept but it's always been a part of my life. My mom is a wonderful cook, a consummate hostess, and truly knows how to make people feel accepted, welcomed, and understood in her home and around her table. My parents opened their hearts and their homes to so many people in my lifetime and continue to do that for us, our children, and those in our lives. Sharing my parents and their kitchen table with others is truly a gift. The heart of their table is Jesus, and a selfless love that puts others first. I can think of countless times I, my family, or my peers have poured out our hearts around their table and were truly heard, not judged, were prayed for, and left feeling known and maybe just a little bit more inspired or clear headed. I am forever grateful for the community they have built around their table. Finding a book of devotions that centers around the kitchen table was like a cherry on top the sundae. The photography is gorgeous, homey, welcoming, and inspiring. Each of the 100 devotionals includes a Scripture verse and a single sentence prayer you can meditate on each day. I love that the Scriptures come from a variety of translations, using mainly the New International Version of the Holy Bible, also referenced are the ESV, HCSB, NASB, NLT, and Message; the prayers are simple; and the devotions themselves are thoughtful and thought provoking. You do get to know Edwards some through these stories but they are focused on life with Christ in your day to day living. Challenging questions are posed, thought provoking statements get you thinking, and the prayers left me meditating on the things of Lord. I'd highly recommend this enriching and beautiful devotional This book will make a wonderful gift, or be a great one to literally keep on your kitchen table (which is where mine is right alongside two other daily devotionals I like to dive into - Savor by Shauna Niequist and New Morning Mercies by Paul David Tripp. I hope you'll take a look at these and the devotionals linked below to find one that might help you dive into God's Word daily or to pick up as a gift for someone in your life. I've been learning anew this year just how important daily time in God's Word learning about His character and His promises is to a living and growing relationship with Him. I've also found myself oh so grateful for a community to sit with around the kitchen table who will dive deeper, invest in, and grow with me. Cherishing What's Important in Your Home and Heart with _Devotions from the Kitchen Table_
Considering that breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and I love to linger over a long cup of coffee with God on a slow Saturday morning, I adored Devotions from the Kitchen Table the moment I opened it, especially the pictures of coffee & croissants coupled with an inspiring book. Comforting images like these for each of the ninety devotions make me want to linger in the kitchen with God as I pour over the highlighted Bible verses. Simple illustrations of comfort food (think: pie and pastries) also remind me of Grandma’s baking—which always brings comfort to the soul—but the adjoining Scriptures and reflection ultimately point to the best source of comfort and that is Christ. In fact, my favorite selection is the devotion entitled “Grandma’s Kitchen,” one that points out how Grandma’s kitchen décor never changed, and in today’s ever-changing world, there is comfort in that kind of consistency. Devotions from the Kitchen Table clarifies how we can continually find that kind of comfort in Christ for “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever,” according to Hebrews 13:8. The book’s delightful images of herb kitchen gardens and pretty tea cups motivate me to spruce up my kitchen and invite company over for homemade waffles so we can fellowship and pray for the week. So step aside, Starbucks. A coffeehouse cannot replace the kitchen, the heart of the home. Devotions from the Kitchen Table keeps readers focused on what’s important both in our homes and our hearts—and calls us to linger there in God’s presence. I only wish the devotional included recipes of the yummy-looking casseroles, baked treats, and comfort food, but there’s always Grandma’s recipe box!
The joy of laughing with friends and family
About the Book: Taste and see God’s goodness from the heart of your home—the kitchen table. A simple meal shared around a table. A fresh cup of coffee and God’s Word in the quiet hours of the morning. The joy of laughing with friends and family. Devotions from the Kitchen Table invites you to slow down and appreciate the gifts that are right in front of you. These ninety devotions will inspire you to sit in God’s presence, nourish your soul, and cherish the people who grace your kitchen table. Take a seat at the table and reflect on the extraordinary blessings that are wrapped up in the most ordinary moments at home. My Review: Sharing your day around a kitchen table over a meal that was prepared by loving hands is such a precious gift to your children that you can do it pretty much effortlessly. Devotions from the Kitchen table are so sweet, homey and cozy that it's like sitting down at the table with your Momma discussing your day. I loved the sweet sentiment along with the amazing pictures. Along with each simple devotional entry you have a scripture base with a small one line prayer to sum everything up. The author gives you a tiny Bible lesson in each entry that also connects you back to the Bible. A great way to start my day and the pictures are amazing and perfect for kitchen table devotions. **Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the author. All opinions are my own.

Beautiful Devotional
Devotions from the Kitchen Table is a wonderful offering to pick up to draw nearer to God on a daily basis. There are 90 devotions within its glossy photograph and word-filled pages. Anyone that loves cooking for their family and friends will likely be enamored by this book. Cooking experiences, things that often happen to all of us surrounding the kitchen table and preparing food is brought to light and gives us a Word from the Lord as a practical and applicable example. There are sweet stories but there are also some hard ones included. The book is deeper than one might expect and I like that. We need the grit among the good. It's in the tough times that we grow and learn to dwell fully on God in our walk with him. This devotional if read daily will last a reader about three months. There is a handy ribbon bookmark included to keep your spot until the next reading. There is no spot to take notes or journal a reflection if desired within its pages. The devotions take about five minutes to read give or take. Each reading features a title, scripture verse, and ends with a thought/prayer meant to be spoken to the Lord. I am getting so much out of this devotional and would recommend picking it up for anyone that enjoys time spent in the kitchen which is also known as the heart of the home. * I have received this book in exchange for my honest and unbiased product review; all opinions are my own.*
Dine with God
I will be the first to admit that I am still a student in the kitchen. I have improved since I first got married but I still have a ways to go. This book is a 90 day devotional centered around all things kitchen related. It is really neat to see the author relate different experiences to God all centered around HIM and the table or kitchen. One thing as a pastor's wife our family tries to open our house up as often as we can to host a family over for a meal. We find it the best way to build relationships but we also have fun with it and our kids enjoy it when other kids come! I find the kitchen and eating a meal with someone is one way to open the doors of communication. This book offers fantastic pictures of everything kitchen related and will help the reader commune with God. As you read these devos it will help you recall different memories you have and draw you closer to God. I still have a few more days to read but overall I am enjoying the book and would recommend it. I will probably pass it along as a gift to a friend soon too! Thanks BookLook program for sending me this book free of charge in exchange for an honest review. I was not paid for this review and all opinions expressed are 100% my own.

Take a seat at the table and reflect on the extraordinary blessings that are wrapped up in the most ordinary moments at home. In the same vein as Devotions for Easter or Devotions for Christmas, each of the short devotions included is centered around the theme of the kitchen table, cooking, and hospitality. This is a beautifully-illustrated hardcover book that will draw you in through visual images and retain your interest with the short, engaging devotions. It would make a wonderful Mother's Day gift for mom or grandma, or could be included in a housewarming basket for a new home or wedding shower. It would also be great as a coffee table book!
Lovely
The simple things in life can often have spiritual meaning. Gather around the kitchen table as the author pulls from the scenes and objects from the kitchen to share simple truths and amazing blessings from God's word. I really enjoyed this book. The cover is attractive and appealing. The simple, but beautiful photography is spread throughout the book. Each devotion begins with a scripture. Then the author ties it in with some thoughts from around the kitchen table. Topics such as recipes, dishes, and family. Each devotional was personal and fit with the theme. This would be an excellent gift. But I would purchase a copy for yourself. I loved the concept and they were very well written and spoke to me. I received a copy of this book from BookLook Bloggers. All thoughts expressed are my own.
A lovely devotional book to brighten each day
I must say that this is a beautiful devotional book. While none of the devotions are "deep", each is about every day life centered around the kitchen, cooking, and hospitality. I love the photos throughout the book. Many such books have pretty covers but no images inside the book. This one draws you in with not only God centered writing but photos that can make even the darkest days a little brighter. This book would make a lovely Mother's Day gift or perhaps tucked in a gift basket of kitchen items for a wedding shower. The devotionals would be fine for any denomination. Highly recommended! Devotions from the Kitchen Table was provided by the publisher for the sake of review but the opinions are my own.
I do not think there has been a terrible devotional book that I can think of in over ...
I will say one thing and that is devotional books are pure gems with there powerful words of inspiration. I do not think there has been a terrible devotional book that I can think of in over a year because they have been amazing. The latest, Devotions from the Kitchen Table by Thomas Nelson, was no exception. It was full of magical words and just as amazing pictures along the many pages of this book. I love that fact that it is easy enough and inspiring enough to place and devour at will when I need the inspiration. It amazes that a few sentences could empower its reader. I received a copy for this review from Book Look Bloggers and all opinions are my own.
... Kitchen Table is filled with the prettiest photographs and best object lessons for the homemaker of today
Devotions from the Kitchen Table is filled with the prettiest photographs and best object lessons for the homemaker of today. Each devotional seems to resonate with my heart in a way that only another Christian homemaker would understand. I leave the book in my kitchen so that I am able to step away from the chaos of my home and enjoy a few minutes of turning my attention back to the Lord. This is a devotional I will treasure and re-read for years to come. What a great gift to give to another woman in my life too. I received this book from Book Look Blogger in exchange for an honest review.
Evokes feelings of a better time
Life seems to be in a constant rush these days....running from our jobs to take the kids to extracurricular activities....home to do laundry & homework....off to bed and here we go again. This devotional was meant to elicit warm, soothing feelings and memories of a slower paced time. The devotions are short and to the point. Each devotion starts with a title, and usually one verse of Scripture. Following is several short paragraphs of life applications.
This is a beautiful, sturdy devotional
This is a beautiful, sturdy devotional. The photography is beautiful and will make you want to head into the kitchen to make something tasty. Each devotional is food related - titles like Grandma's Kitchen, Seasoned with Salt, Follow the Recipe and Fingerprints on the Glass. The devotions begin with a line or two of scripture, followed by a short story, and culminating in a short prayer. I think this book would make a fun gift for Mother's Day, a bridal shower, or a birthday for someone who finds joy in the kitchen.
A Very Beautiful, Cozy Devotional
A very beautiful devotional, with 90 devotions that are warm, cozy, nourishing and point you to the Lord. The photography inside is absolutely gorgeous, which definitely keeps me wanting to dig into it daily.

I loved this devotional! It offers warm and cozy readings as well as the most lovely photographs. I found the readings to range from thought-provoking to inspirational to encouraging. Some of the readings took me right back to my grandmother's kitchen table. A perfect book for Mother's Day, birthdays, and even as a shower gift.
Love this devotional
I absolutely love this devotional. I received it as a mothers day gift and it is perfect for me. I am trying to take time for God every morning and it is tough with two babies under two. This devotional let's me get something in everyday.
Five Stars
very good
Not as Good as Other Books in This Series
