Lives devastated by war and loss

A story of love’s lost and found, lives forever changed because of the War, horror and hope. This story brings to life those years toward the end of WWI in England and the lives of nursing friends working to overcome all odds. It is pathos and hope combined in a well told, realistic story I enjoyed

Nightingale Wedding Bells

I really enjoyed reading this book and all of Donna Douglas books. War, history and romance, escape from the crazy times we live in now!

Good but not as good as the previous ones

Nursing

I never got the book from amazon Kindle though the books are good

it was great revisiting the characters in the book.

Loved it all. Cannot wait for the next book!

Another great book in this wonderful series

I think this is the third(?) book in this Nightingale series which focusses on the first World War and not the second like the rest of the series. Again, this was a very enjoyable read and I enjoyed catching up with what was happening with all the nurses and in particular Anna and Edward and Grace. I still find it strange that they are all good friends but call each other by their surnames though! I am hoping this is not going to be the last book in this series, but the way the book ended, it looks like sadly this might be the case. As an aside, I see that another reviewer has given away the whole of the storylines in the book and I do wish people wouldn't do that. There is no need to ruin things for other people who have not read the books yet. This is why I always make a point of not looking at reviews of a book until after I have read it as some people just don't realise how much they could spoil things for others by doing this.

Another brilliant story

Anna, Grace, Miriam, Mary and Dulcie were all nurses at the Nightingale Hospital in London. The story is based around their nursing and personal lives. Some of them found real love and Anna thought so too, but this was not the case. Edward had worked at Anna's father's bakery along with Tom, who had rebuilt it following a fire. Anna's dream was that Edward and herself would run the bakery just as her mother an father had, before he was arrested and put in prison for being of German descend, both her parents went back to Germany to live and start up a bakery again. Some of the nurses were only there so they could find a doctor for a husband and retire to fine living. Edward turns out to be a cruel man, drinking and gambling, taking Monet from the till, until he couldn't get enough to gamble and borrowed from loan sharks. There are many twists and turns as the story unfolds. Donna Douglas is a great author and I enjoyed all her books so far that I have read and will read more of them.

Another great book in the Nightingale series. Mainly about Anna and Grace but still including other nurses. Anna's fiance was sent home from war , but she didn't know a psychiatric report on him said he was dangerous. She married him and he raped her on their wedding night. Then he forced her to give up nursing and was really hateful to her. Eventually she got away from him with Grace`s help. Grace who was so clumsy loved looking after the traumatized soldiers who were injured after the war. She fell in love with the doctor on the ward . A great book looking forward to next book

Nightingale Wedding Bells

I wish I had read this book first it would have given me a better insight as to the characters. I seem to have read this series backwards but have enjoyed all the books so far I think I have a couple of the district nurse ones still to read then I will have read them all. I've loved all so far, thank you Donna Douglas for writing them.

Another excellent read

Just love reading about The Nightingale Nurses their lives and loves. The gentle humour against the hardships of the war and the suffering of the patients. Grace who is clumsy with a heart of gold , Anna and Dulcie will they all find love.

Heartwarming

I loved this book once started l couldn’t put it down. While reading it l was shouting at the characters trying to make them see what was in front of them. I laughed and cried reading the story and can’t wait for the next one

Loved it

I love the Mulberry Lane series, old names from the past blend with new characters, little twists and turns all make for good reading. Can we have a follow up to this one please Donna, it has left me curious?

Brilliant

Wow this was a rollercoaster ride! You certainly don't disappoint Donna Douglas. Bringing back the characters of the nurses we have become so find of. If you have not read this series so start at the beginning you certainly will not be disappointed

Too many typos

A good story, as always, with well defined characters. But SO many typos (at least in the Kindle version). Did no one read this through before giving it the go ahead for publication?

Nightingale

This is the second ww1 book every bit as good as book 1 the faces and names become as familiar as any nightingale book a fantastic read 5 STARS.

Great

Amazing

Another triumph Ms Douglas!!!! I have read all the Nightingale books, and they are all amazing. Please can we have more!!!!!

Captivating

A really excellent story line and so heart warming and tragic during the war years, but love conquers all in the end.

Good read

Good read

Great book

Great book.

Brilliant as ever

Can’t wait for the next instalment .... always rush to the end to find out what happens, then wish the book could go on and on

Just as enjoyable as the other books in the series

Plenty happening throughout not forgetting the humour. Diverting stories during all the nurse's lives. Well worth reading over and over the same as the rest.

Disappointing

Have read all of The Nightingale series of books and have really struggled with this one. Couldn’t conect with the characters very disappointed.

Brilliant read as always

Really enjoyed this book. The characters are very well thought out and bring the story to life. I am looking forward to the next book from Donna Douglas already.

Love Donna’s books

Another great book

Good read

Enjoyed story immensely

Pre owned but like new.

For a pre owned item this book is like new. It came in good time and was well packaged. Excellent seller.
