Great curriculum, copy I received not so great

I love the Music for Little Mozarts series! My younger students enjoy this series and I recommend it highly! However, I do have a complaint for the most recent copy I ordered and there was no place to contact the seller so I supposed I would write a review. It was supposed to be brand new and it was packaged fine but the book was placed inside the package FOLDED. Music books (or any kind of book) should never be folded, especially when being shipped long distances. Anyway, besides that one incident, I am very pleased with Music for Little Mozarts and my orders.

Fun start in music!

Love the Music for Little Mozart method. Been teaching it for 15 years and my students love the different ways to enjoy music. A great way to start young children !!! The workbook is simple, colorful and fun to learn the basics. I would definitely give it 5 stars!!!!

Fun supplement to the Lesson book

I bought this book to use with a 5-year-old piano student of mine. I had started her in the Alfred Basic Prep Level A, which is where I would normally start a kindergarten student. She was instantly taken with the characters. I used the lesson book and this workbook, and she started to make great progress. Sometimes "theory" can be tough for students to complete. This book has lots of color-by-note and other activities that don't seem like such tough work. (What kid doesn't enjoy coloring?) I think of this more like the Notespeller books from the Prep and Basic series, rather than the Theory books. At any rate, she didn't object to doing any of the activities, so that's good.

Fun way for little ones to learn piano

We just enrolled our 4 year old in private piano lessons and this is the book the teacher uses. The teacher already had Beethoven Bear and Mozart Mouse. What a great idea to keep little kids interested and help to have fun while learning! So far our daughter loves it.

Good for very young students but slow moving.

These are cute, but as a piano teacher I’m disappointed with how slow they move. The age level is good for a 5 year old but it is too repetitive and slow moving. Maybe these will be better for a parent who doesn’t know music well but wants to help their child learn.

Music Theory and Ear Training

In Alfred's Music for Little Mozarts, students follow their friends Mozarts Mouse and Beethoven Bear in exploration of musical sounds and concepts as they learn to play piano. The workbook has written and listening exercises to strengthen young students' aural skills. There is actually only one coloring assignment, which is to color Mozart Mouse and Beethoven Bear at the beginning of the book. This can be done for homework if instructors do not want to use up valuable lesson time coloring. The exercises in the workbook are fun and easy and correspond to exercises in the Little Mozarts lesson book. I recommend using the workbook along with the lesson book, discovery book and flash cards. See my review of the Deluxe Starter Kit, which includes these materials, along with the Mozart Mouse and Beethoven Bear plush toys. My one complaint is that the note 'G' is not covered in the first level. Topics covered in the Workbook include the following. (You can also "look inside" the book to see the Table of Contents). Color Mozart Mouse and Beethoven Bear Curved fingers High and low Loud and soft for listening examples Up and down Write in finger numbers 2 black keys and quarter notes 3 black keys and quarter rests Half notes and half rests Whole notes and whole rests Color notes A,B,C,D,E Middle C position

Great for little ones

My daughter started her piano lessons around 3 1/2. These books are perfect for little ones just learning how to play the piano.

Sold

I love this series. I have taught my grandchildren to play piano using this program. I first bought a bundle of this at a Garage Sale and fell in love with it. I have since continued to buy this for each child. I take them completely through the series and they are able to easily read music and on top of that, they love music.

Such a good book for pre readers.

This is a great book for pre readers. My son just turned 6 and his piano teacher uses this. It's so simple and easy to understand.

Great for 2.5 and 3 year olds. I wouldn't recommend this book for children over age 4.

Perfect for little minds

Perfect for little minds to learn piano in a way that makes sense for them.

Item description is incorrect. I ordered the "Music for Little Mozarts: Music WORKBOOK 4" but the item I received was "Music for Little Mozarts: Music LESSON BOOK 4."

I like the workbook series.....

I like it. I purchased and returned the Little Mozart workbooks. I decided to keep the Lesson books for future reference and encourage the student to purchase any music needed.

Best series for little ones!

Great series for 5-6 yr olds!

Love this! Our music teacher uses it and my daughter loves to do her assignments at home in our copy. My daughter is 4.5yo and 'gets it' easily.

Five Stars

Younger children to great in this book.

Good book for young kids

I have reviewed other books in this series and I love this one just as much. These books are great at teaching the fundamentals of piano to young kids to give them the start they need in learning to play.

Required Music Book - Nice

Required by our daughters' piano teacher - all seem pleased with it. Nicely accessible to little kids (not as "dry" as some children's music instruction books are).

Five Stars

Super easy to follow. My 3yr old loves it

Piano for Young Student

My student was very excited about the music books. They enhanced the knowledge she gained earlier in preschool about high and low and music symbols. She especially loves the Mozart Bear and sleeps with it. Thanks.

PIANO BOOK

RECOMMENDED BY PIANO TEACHER

great

I think this book and its series is fun for little children. It does move a little slow, but that works fine for average children. If your child is really quick, though, I would consider another series.

Great for Very Young Beginners

I've used the Alfred's Mozart Mouse for my younger students, (ages 5 & 6) for years. It's fun for them. They're guided through the basics while being entertained by the stories of Beethoven Bear and Mozart Mouse. Super for kids who are starting out and are very young. If they in first grade, this series often feels "babyish" to them. I recommend it for pre-K and K.

My girls have loved these workbooks

My girls have loved these workbooks! They enjoy the activities to do, learn from them and it helps them begin to engage in the theory of piano.

Great Program

GREAT program for little music students! Advanced 6 year old think a little too young.

good.

Teacher loves it, kid loves it, nothing more to say.

A great book for all types of kiddos' learning piano.

My daughter with Cerebral Palsy is learning piano, and thanks to the simplicity and characters in these books, she is kept interested and motivated to keep going. Daily practice is so helpful to her and the workbook gives her other fine motor activities that are not as challenging but piano focused. Great for all early piano learners!

Five Stars

very appropriate for age 4 child, thanks. grandparent

Music for Little Mozarts

The music book arrived in good condition. My grandson is using it with his piano teacher every week. We're well satisfied.

The Work book

I chose this rating as I though it was just OK and simple enough for the age group. However I was disappointed with the fact that a book that was so used( coloured and written on every page) was allowed to be sold. I can't use what was purchased,, so I am really disappointed here.

Music for Little Mozarts

I am very happy with the workbook. However, it came in the mail all crumpled up. Not happy with that!

It's ok.....

I returned this book. I decided to keep the Lesson books (1-4 ) as reference. It was too costly to keep Lesson book, workbook and other material for each Level

Four Stars

Great series for primaries

Three Stars

Not what I expected...

I used this book to get ideas for my lessons

This workbook contains 45 worksheets that can be completed by a 3-5 year old in 1-5 minutes. The suggested pacing is 20 piano lessons. The concepts range from "curve your fingers", high and low, forte/piano, quarter/half/whole rests, quarter notes, repeat signs, to the notes A,B,C,D, and E They compliment the little mozarts core curriculum contained in the "music lesson" book. The value in this workbook according to me is that in order for such a young child to internalize these concepts you need to think of at least three different learning methods to teach each concept, the coloring/tracing in this book accomplishes one modality (writing/kinesthetic). The pages won't challenge an artistic child, but you don't want them to color all day long during lessons anyway. I personally will not be using most of the worksheets, but each page gave me an idea for a game I could use instead (the worksheets were colorful and appealing for a child, but I think games are better and you can reuse them unlike the workbook). I appreciated having this book to give me ideas for my lessons, it saves me time. Older kids don't require so much "learn through games" as 3-5 year olds, so this program is helpful for meeting the needs of the youngest students.

These are great books for pre-readers

These are great books for pre-readers. Very fun! I love the story that leads the student through the lessons. I teach others piano, but I am using these for my little girl who LOVES to color, so the workbook gives her plenty opportunity for that. Very pleased with these.

This is not Book 1

This is advertised as Book 1, but appears as Book 4. It is an error.

Makes piano lessons fun!

The workbook is a must when teaching from the lesson book. The workbook follows the lesson book

Excellent book for 4 to 6 year olds

I have been teaching from this book for several years and find the students love the activities in it that back up the concepts introduced in the Lesson book with fun written activities. I would highly recommend it to children in this age group and I have had much success using this book.

My 5 year loves it

My 5 year old son loves to learn from this. He's having piano lessons and been progressing incredibly fast (credit to the teacher) and comes home every saturday singing a new tune, a new lovely morning and afternoon of him singing around.

Great teaching material for young children

I've been using this material for a while and it's one of the best material I found to teach very young children to play the piano.

Good accompaniment to Music Lesson Book

Bought this by mistake (meant to buy Music Lesson Book), but has proven to be a good accompaniment to the lesson book.

Not yet used

I am only on book 2 with my pupil so cannot not reply yet. Have already replied to this book

Five Stars

My son has got so much out of this!

Excellent book for children!

Very easy to read and understand - highly recommend it for children who are just learning the piano. Gives them a lot of confidence!

My four-year-old wants to skip by the stories

Beautiful books! I find that my four year olds just wants to skip to the lesson and not read the little stories that come with them. I will probably bumper up to another level before we finish this series.

Perfect for learning

Perfect

Challenging

Challenging for an adult with little music background but we'll persevere and hopefully be able to teach our grandson the basics.

Recommend

It’s fun. Youngest kids like it.

Five Stars

Thanks awesome little book series
