A heartwarming tale...mostly
It's the heartwarming story of a little baby serval kitten that's orphaned and then adopted by a woman in the African savannah. The reading level is appropriate for elementary school children. Educational facts about African serval cats are offered. The best part of the book is all the color photographs of the kitten, Moto. He is adorable! The only downside is I think that there's a dark side to this story, though I doubt elementary school kids will pick up on it. MINOR SPOILER AHEAD . . . Based on comments in the book, plus reading an interview by the author, I think it's quite likely that the story did NOT have a happy ending. So if that's an issue for you, be warned. END MINOR SPOILER

Book #95 Read in 2017 Moto and Me by Suzi Ezrtzhaus This is a cute read with beautiful pictures, detailing the author's year of being a foster mom to a Serval kitten. This was especially lovely to me since I have a Savannah, a cat bred from a Serval. It detailed things Servals eat, how they hunt, how the mothers take care of her kittens and many more things. It would make a lovely gift for cat lovers.
Awesome
This is one of my child’s favorite books. She was so happy to receive it.
Great story and photos
I read this with my 7 year old granddaughter and a 10 year old girl I tutor. It was a good follow up to reading My Wild Life by the same author, who is a wildlife photographer. Great photos!
Good for kids
Thank you for making it available on Amazon!
FANTASTIC book for serval lovers of all ages
FANTASTIC book for serval lovers of all ages! The wording is quite easy for young readers. The images used in the book are absolutely adorable and enhance the reader's enjoyment by leaps and bounds.
Love Moto
The photography is spectacular. The story is sweet, but also informative. It's geared to middle school, I would say, but elementary kids who are good readers and anybody who loves cats and nature will enjoy this book.
Great book
We love this book!
Five Stars
animal lovers delight!
My animal loving daughter loved this book!
My daughter told me that I needed to write a really long review about this book because it was so good! This book is an easy to read chapter book that my daughter and I very much enjoyed reading together. My daughter is crazy about animal stories especially cats so this book was a great hit. As you might expect since this book was written by a wildlife photographer, the pictures are amazing! You really want to reach out your hand and pet Moto. My daughter and I neither one knew much about servals when we started and we were shocked to learn that serval kittens do not know how to go to the bathroom on their own. "When their mom cleans their bottoms, the feel of her warm, wet tongue tells their bodies that it is time to go." We both heartily agreed that we are glad this is not the case for human babies!! I remember watching Born Free when I was little and I was sad when the Adamsons had to leave Elsa, so I was a little worried I would feel a bit sad at the end of this book. Actually, Eszterhas does a great job of making the end feel triumphant rather than sad. Eszterhas has taken a lot of amazing photographs of wild animals and their babies and we enjoyed looking online at those pictures as well. We also learned some about endangered animals online including the pangolin which I had never even heard of previously! Altogether this book is a winner!
