An insightful read by the New York Times Bestselling author and star of True Crime with Aphrodite Jones.

Michael Jackson was the pop icon the media loved to hate. Tremendously wealthy, inarguably eccentric, and one of the most famous people in the world, Jackson was the unenviable target of constant public humiliation. The media poked fun at his skin, his features, his sexuality, and his lifestyle.

Here, seasoned crime reporter Aphrodite Jones condemns the media for perpetuating hateful rumors and innuendoes, recounting just the sordid details, and reporting only the most despicable accusations and grisly charges made against Michael Jackson during his criminal trial. They had built a highly profitable industry around the superstar's "freaky life" and banked on his conviction.

And, it turns out, they got it all wrong.

In their efforts to make money and win ratings, the media missed the truth. It wasn't until after the "not guilty" verdict that Jones had the insight and courage to admit her own unintentional role in the frenzy surrounding the shocking testimony, high drama, and countless celebrities in Michael Jackson's high-profile criminal trial. Bestselling author and TV host Jones makes amends with what is not only a truthful, well-documented chronicle of the entire trial but a powerful indictment against the media for conspiring to distort, dehumanize, and destroy Michael Jackson. She argues convincingly that the case against Jackson amounted to nothing more than a media-made, tax-paid scandal, and she makes an impassioned call to action for the public-at-large to think critically, question the integrity, and demand the truth in the “news”.

MJ Not Guilty!!!

Thank you for taking the time to reexamine the case to write this book regarding the actual facts. Everyone who has doubts about MJ's innocence must read this book, it's all here in black & white. Even with favorable rulings to the Prosecution, Sneddon lost the case, which should have never been filed in the first place, a grave injustice to the real victims who suffer. And an enormous waste of taxpayer’s money & resources. Sadly, this was instrumental in MJ’s untimely death, which was determined to be a homicide & the man only served 2 years for killing someone who gave so much to so many whiles on this earth. Unforgivable...

Blows the whistle on the vulgar want of journalistic ethics

The author Aphrodite Jones uses "People of the State of California vs Michael Joe Jackson," the 2005 criminal trial of the King of Pop, as a case study to reveal the failure and dereliction of duty by North American media to inform the public of available facts. Whether the reader of this book is a Jackson fan or not a Jackson fan is irrelevant. Whether the reader believes in Jackson's guilt or Jackson's innocence is irrelevant. What, then, is relevant? This book outlines in disturbing detail what the North American public, and possibly the entire world's public, missed in their unfortunate dependence upon North American mainstream reporters for accurate information surrounding Jackson's trial. Cameras were not allowed inside the courtroom, and so the public had to depend upon second, third, and fouth-hand sources to learn about the evidence presented in the case against Jackson, for instance, the bizarre twist that numerous witnesses for the prosecution provided testimony favorable to the defendant--Jackson. However, the reporters who did sit inside the courtroom and had the benefit of first-hand knowledge of evidence and witness testimony refused to report with any degree of accuracy. Why? Since reporters in attendance were unable to control the events inside the courtroom that resulted in Jackson's exoneration and release from custody, these reporters chose instead to control the court of public opinion with propaganda. Rather than deliver a complete, fair, and unbiased presentation on evidence and witness testimony, these reporters saturated news outlets with cherry-picked sound bites that presumed and anticipated Jackson's guilt. Why? Greed. Jackson found guilty and forced into prison due to overwhelming public outcry would have increased television ratings, website hits, and newspaper circulation. Jackson found innocent and released to continue a free life due to the lack of evidence would have resulted in decreased revenue and possibly embarrasing admissions of the vulgar want of ethics in reportage. Facts were made available to the reporters who swarmed the trial. But the reporters decided not to share those facts with the public. To this day, ten years after the event, most of North America's public still do not understand the jury's decision to exonerate Jackson and find him innocent of all ten (10) charges. Even when allowed the option to find Jackson guilty of lesser (misdemeanor) charges, the jury refused and reaffirmed Jackson's complete innocence. The author's provision of selected court transcripts, her willingness to share what she herself observed inside the courtroom, plus her willingness to blow the whistle on discrepancies in the presentations of fellow reporters reveal that, in fact, North America's media betrayed the public's trust. Despite the media's aggressive attempts to force a guilty verdict, twelve representatives of the State of California (and the people) examined the facts, the testimonies, and the evidence from the 1993 allegations as well as the 2003 allegations and concluded that Jackson was innocent. What is the significance of Jones' work? Think very hard about the ugly truth of what Jackson's trial revealed. If mainstream media betrayed the public's trust in their inaccurate coverage of Jackson's trial, in what other arenas has mainstream media betrayed the public's trust with inaccurate coverage? Foreword by Tom Mesereau. Twenty-eight (28) pages of black and white photos.

Aphrodite Jones don't mess around

What can I say? Truly one of the most definite books detailing every aspect and stuff what's going on during the tragedies, scandals, setbacks, coverups and stuff behind the greatest entertainer that ever lived in the planet. Yes folks, i'm talking about the legendary King of Pop, Mr. Michael Jackson (May the Lord bless his soul in Heaven and in Peace). Without going into alot of detail and everything, I dearly suggest those who are reading this and whom loved and understand Michael is deeply give this book a chance. To all the haters and attackers, I hope you clear your mind for a moment and clearly understand the Truth and not for all of the BS. Ms. Jones does an incredible job staying specific and honest with the story without sugarcoating nothing. I truly admired her and just discover her from the TV show True Crime with Aphrodite Jones among other sources. U can't go wrong with this. For your sake, just read the book and hopefully by grace, you'll get a deep understanding and reason why this artist's life and legacy was ended by turmoil, destruction and tragedy.

The Second Time Around.

I enjoyed this tome immensely. The truth is that I have read it twice. The first time was when the book first appeared on the horizon and I just finished reading it for the second time last week. I deeply respect Ms Jones' for her dedication first, as the person she is and second, for using her earthly journey for advancing her viewpoints, creativity and talents. When ever I am privy to observe her discourses, I am always eager to purchase them for my literary library. Many authors write on their interpretation, love and devotion to Michael Jackson. Ms. Jones revealed the truth concerning Michael Jackson's exigencies. This is a book that will remain with me wherever, I live so that, several times, in the future, I will, once again, choose the book for delightful reading.

Michael Jackson in the Crosshairs

A very accurate account of Michael Jackson's 2005 molestation trial. Jones makes you feel like you're sitting in the courtroom. Told from the defense' perspective, Jones uses a lot of actual transcript material. At times the book can become repetitive or stay too long on certain testimony but it is a very vivid account of how the media prejudiced the public against Jackson and gave a scary portrayal of when the courts and especially the prosecution try to bring a false case against an innocent client for obsessive and racial reasons. I think the book will appeal to both Jackson fans and those who are still on the fence as to whether the "King of Pop" was actually a pedophile.

Facts on the trials presented; but I've lowered the rating because of her endorsement on the last page for Taraborelli's book.

The in-depth evidence presented in this book should be read by everyone who cares about Michael Jackson. Then you can boldly defend Michael to anyone who doubts in his innocence. I'm very thankful that Aphrodite Jones took the time and effort to present this material for the general public. However, I wonder why she endorsed "Michael Jackson: The Magic and the Madness" by J. Randy Taraborelli on the last page of her book? On page 500 Taraborelli gives his rendition of the Sheriff Deputies' opening of the MJ vault, which is a complete fabricated account according to the video of the Sheriff Deputies' account. Did she just assume he would write a biography that was objective and based on facts that could be substantiated? Did Tarrabolli write anything that was accurate? Not according to other books I've read on Michael Jackson.

Throwing me off..a little sceptical.

So far this book has really got me not knowing how I feel about not only the book information but also about Michael Jackson. Some of the descriptions of what he had in his home at Neverland really through me off, for example: a picture above his bed of the last supper but he is in the middle and he is surrounded by Abe Lincoln and etc. I will not get into the full description for I don't want to give it all away but if you are in for a book that makes a person seem more creepier than I would of ever thought him to be than you ought to purchase this book and read it. I am only 5 chapters in and I am just stunned over what he was like. As for the charges against him I still am not far enough in the book to make my own decision on guilt or no guilt but these people that claimed he did these things to this little boy are way out there in life too so as I keep reading I am going to also have to consider the author's truthfulness in what she is writing as well. Is this book just another money maker on someone else's lost life or is this putting out the truth about all the facts in the case against Michael Jackson. I just get leery when I read books like this for someone is always out there trying to make money on someone else's misfortunes. So if anyone out there reads this book I would enjoy reading all reviews on everyone else's opinion on this book. Truth or Bull?

Every Michael Jackson fan should have this book!

I purchased this book about a little over a month ago & started reading it, at least 3-4 chapters each day. Although I knew in my heart that Michael Jackson was innocent all along, & read the book online prior to purchasing the book, I wanted to have a copy for myself! I decided to get the ORIGINAL 2007 edition instead of the 2009 re-issued version!! I was completely blown away by it all & couldn't take my eyes off the book when reading it. I honestly just can't believe that my dear Michael was put through such a horrible mess back in 2005. There absolutely should've been NO reason for it whatsoever. It was all because of the GREEDY & I decided to put the word greedy in capital letters because truthfully, that is EXACTLY who the Arvizo family truly are! There just isn't anything else to say about them really when it comes to the matter. They just wanted to take advantage of Michael & all they cared about was the MONEY. Honestly, it made me sick to my stomach that Gavin, whom Michael took in to help with his cancer, would come up with such God-awful accusations/allegations. It's totally MINDBOGGLING! I can't put into words really! I just want to say to Aphrodte Jones, thank you so very much for having the courage to write a book & to have finally opened your eyes, unlike alot of the other people from the media, & to see the actual TRUTH for what it really was/is. And also a big thank you to Michael Jackson's defense attorney Tom Mesereau for writing the forward to the book as well. I have so much respect for the both of them & can't thank them enough! This is the book for every MJ fan to read & also for people who are willing to be open minded about the truth as to what really happened in the courtroom back in 2005!! And the last thing I wish to say: MJ INNOCENT 4EVER!!!!

Astounding

Like another reviewer, I couldn't put the book down either - at least, it was very hard to do whenever I was forced to by other obligations. I received it in the mail on Thursday and finished it last night (that's FAST for me, given everything else I have on my plate). Anyway, this book is amazing - I was quite literally floored by the information it contained as it was stuff I hadn't heard about due to selective (heavily slanted against Jackson) media coverage at the time. I was like a lot of people back then . . . I thought that he might have very well been guilty of the accusations and I remember feeling a bit annoyed that he "got off" when the jury found him not guilty. Well, since then I have realized that my knowledge of all the facts of the case (as well as the 1993 allegations) was sorely lacking and I've done a complete about-face with regard to Michael Jackson. It's clear to me now that the family was a fraud (I do recall feeling a bit skeptical about them at the time but didn't explore those suspicions further) and Michael Jackson was an innocent man who was taken advantage of on numerous occasions. I strongly believe the backstabbing Bashir documentary and the trial afterward had a lot to do with Michael's ultimate demise - and that's a shame, really - because the world has lost a truly wonderful human being. Bravo to Aphrodite Jones, for going against the tide and putting this amazing book out there for us to read.

Comprehensive and Fair Account of the Child Molestation Charges Against Michael Jackson

I have to admit, I was one of those. What I mean by that is that I believed Michael Jackson was guilty of the charges that were brought against him by Gavin Arvizo. I wasn't sure about the first allegation that was brought against him by Jordie Chandler and later settled out of court, but this second time, I was swayed in the direction of thinking he was guilty. What did I have to base my opinion on? Like many people in America - The Bashir documentary. I sat and watched that documentary and thought that Michael Jackson was much stranger than I had ever imagined. When Michael Jackson passed away last year, many people blamed his legal troubles with these two allegations as the reason he died. I believe these allegations and the media nightmare that surrounded both cases, his money troubles, and the downturn of his career were probably the reasons he couldn't sleep at night. They were the reasons he probably numbed himself with drugs. They were the reasons his health took a downturn. Aphrodite Jones was one of those journalists in the media who spoke out against Michael Jackson. She was one of "those". I give her much kudos to come out and write such an honest and heart-felt book about Michael Jackson. She used the actual transcripts from the trial. There is a frankness about the tone that she uses in this book that lets you know she is giving an honest account of what happened without smoke-screens. What was shocking about this case was how crooked and one-sided the media had been throughout, regardless of what had transpired in court. The media wanted to continue along, painting Michael Jackson as a clown who was in a circus side-show instead of ever giving him the benefit of the doubt while they were covering this trial. It is also interesting to note that this book was published in 2007, two years before Michael Jackson's death. It can be said with conviction that, unlike many other biographies that have come out since his death, or the books that WERE written prior to his death and have been since "updated", Aphrodite Jones did not "cash in" on the death of Michael Jackson. I read this book for the first time after Michael's passing, and I just reread it again, shortly after the one-year anniversary of his death. I understand Michael Jackson a lot better now. I always knew he was a talent. I grew up with his music. However, I always felt that his "tabloid image" had overshadowed his career. In Michael's case, I think some of that was his fault, but a good deal of it was the media. This man was taunted and tortured by people who had no clue what kind of person he was. He was used as a money machine by those who he did business with. He was betrayed by employees and handlers, and worst of all, children that he had opened his heart and home to. I sincerely believe that Michael Jackson loved children with his whole being and would never hurt them. I believe he was innocent in many ways, and didn't think as an adult thought about how things looked to the outside "adult" world. I believe that Gavin Arvizo is alive today because of Michael Jackson. This conniving child knew what he was doing with Michael and other celebrities. He was a brat, and his brother, Star, was a brat. His mother, Janet, was a shady nut-job. These people KNEW what they were doing, and Karma is going to come for them one day. I wonder how they live with themselves now that the man that saved Gavin's life is gone? I wonder how Jordie Chandler lives with himself? We know his evil father died of a self-inflicted suicide. Maybe the guilt finally caught up with him. I hope, in the wake of Michael's passing, that more books come out like this. Michael is not here anymore. I know he is now happy and at peace. For the rest of us who are still living, someone needs to be his voice, and hopefully more will speak up. It is time for both Gavin Arvizo and Jodie Chandler to come clean - publicly and officially. It is time to right the wrongs and restore the Michael Jackson Legacy to its original shine.

So Glad the Truth is Out

As much as I have been dying to read books on Michael Jackson, I have been very careful in choosing which book I purchase. I am NOT interested in supporting those authors who claim to have the "scoop" on the truth about MJ. I certainly don't want my mind muddled with false information or personal opinions that have no factual standing, whatsoever, or out-of-context factoids just so these writers can make money at the expense of MJ's reputation. It's just not right. The only other book I purchased was the "Michael Jackson Tapes" by Rabbi Schmuley only because it would be the words of Michael Jackson, himself. Even with that book I was not impressed because Schmuley has to put his two-cents worth into everythig Michael had to say and shroud Michael's words with Schmuley's own opinions and intentions. Anyway, about this book, "Michael Jackson Conspiracy", I am very glad to have read a book that deals with FACTS. I took a chance and purchased it based on other people's comments, and I say it's worth reading! Personally, I NEVER believed all the crap that has been said about MJ. Even when the Bashir interview aired, right then I said to my husband, I actually believe Michael and completely agree with his views that there's nothing wrong with kids sharing a bed if it's innocent, the way that he described it. In that interview I could truly sense his sincerity and honesty in what he was saying and how he was saying it. This world is so darn hippocritical that we (the media especially) are quick to find fault in others and sensationalize it and take it out of context. I'm sure one could have a field day on the numerous things that we say and do every day that can easily be misconstrued to make us look like criminials when, in fact, we're not. Anyway, that's my opinion, and this book is wonderful in that it describes the numerous innacuracies of the accusers' testimonies, their disagreeable conduct, and so much more, so that for the readers out there who like to base their opinions on facts, this book will certainly lay out for you what the media did NOT and will probably never want you to know! It disgusts me so very much how the media is like a petri dish that starts as a nasty little bacteria that continues to grow until it's out of control. They purposely and greedily misconstrue issues, don't give you the correct circumstances from which it came, nor do they give you ALL the facts! It sickens me that the media was always waiting breathlessly in court for anything that they could leak out to the public that would make Michael Jackson look bad. This books reveals how they couldn't do that - Thank you Ms. Jones and Mr. Mesereau.

Finally the truth

I always felt MJ was innocent as a child himself and not guilty of molesting any children. This book shows the witch hunt that the media made out of MJ and the trial. They wanted him to be guitly no matter what (bad news sells) and never reported the real truth just as in the first time he was accused in the early 1990's. Aphrodite Jones takes us step by step on what really happened inside the court room and how the Arvizios had targeted other celebrities before coming to child like MJ who really wanted to just help heal children, love them (not molest them) and be loved. The Arvizios are finally shown to be the lying scum that they are and their attempts at extorting other celebrities are revealed not to mention the JC Penny case in which they won a settle for sexual harassment on Janet. The boys also lied in that case in order for them to all receive some money. A must read for MJ lovers. Too bad more people did not read this before his death and maybe he would still be alive. That trial and the US media ruined him and depressed him so much he lost his will to live and turned to the medications to help ease the physical pain and emotional, as well. Too late for MJ but maybe this could be a wake up call to the public to quit feeding the media frenzy about hearing/reading only bad or fabricated things about celebrities or people in general. Lets get the real pedophiles behind bars and praise the humanitarians. In case you don't know MJ has donated over $300 million to charities. So, he wasn't just another selfish celebrity, he was someone who really cared about children, people and the environement and we killed him. We are all guilty not just Dr. Murray.

Support this author...a book for the intelligent

This is a great book. It is appalling to me that Ms. Jones, a two-times best-selling NY Times author, had to self-publish this book. No NYC publishing house would touch it, as she was researching the truth about the Jackson trials. Support this author by buying her book. This is a sad story about our culture, and how the American culture assassinates people who are different. There is not one profession here that did not try to profit from Michael Jackson's celebrity. Lawyers, psychologists, journalists, music executives, all loved to hear the accusers' story, even though they were obvious frauds and people with an easily traceable past history of grifting, of lying, and using the court system for profit. After reading this book, I am puzzled how this case even got through the grand jury. I am puzzled how the interviews of this child by California social workers was not considered, as they did not find that there was any wrong-doing. I wish Aphrodite had touched on this a bit more. As a professional counselor, I am interested in this case as I feel it brings to light how careful the professionals..the lawyers, psychologists, doctors...need to be when handling child molestation investigations. I also am concerned about this case as I feel it brings up other cultural issues, such as the strong role that racism, conscious or unconscious, still plays in our culture, and how easily the media manipulates public, mass opinion. [...]

Even the FBI did not find any evidence of molestation...

Firstly, this is one of the few books to treat MJ fairly. Might I point out that the news is now reporting that the FBI monitored MJ for 10 years looking for child molestation evidence -- and the FBI came up with NOTHING. The book is about the trial and the testimony at trial. It's not about how much make up MJ was wearing or about his coming to court in pyjamas. So you actually get to see what was shown in court and how the media would completely ignore the important disclosures and spin some inconsequential detail into some big (and invented) negative story about MJ. It's so sad, because the press could have had a lot to write about just from the irregular stories given by the prosecution. The press did not report the truth. They reported what they thought would be scandalous even if there was no basis to their story. MJ should have sued them all for defamation of character. If you dont read the book, let it be known that the prosecution was shown to not have a leg to stand on, that the accusers were shown to be a family of thieving con artists with a history of trying to get money from rich celebrities on multiple occasions (they tried to con other celebrities- like Jay Leno - before they got to Jackson), and that MJ was found NOT GUILTY on every charge by a jury of 12 people in an American Court. The accusers should have been thrown in jail. I give the book 4 stars because I felt the author could have given more -- it could have been more interesting. But maybe that was the point... there was nothing to sensationalize.

The Truth About Michael Jackson's Trial AT LAST

I have a background in law and from the outset knew the prosecution's case was very weak; however, the media would not let go of it; the cottage industry of media waiting for Michael to be incarcerated went into full high speed alert! This book, by Ms. Ahprodite Jones, showed step by step the prosecution's misconduct and falsification of evidence to achieve the end expected by the media. Fortunately, throughout his ordeal, Michael remained steadfast in his innocence, although always completely shocked and saddened by the turncoat children and their parents. Thomas Sneddon, the prosecutor in the case, was on a witchhunt of Michael for over ten years, finally got his date in court, and watched as his flimsy "evidence" drifted away before his very eyes. The tactic of using paid former employees to testify against Mr. Jackson, as if their word was "law", was just disgusting. People who had sued Michael several times, lost, and were using their last efforts to extort money from him. It is well documented that Michael Jackson's life went downhill thereafter, Mr. Sneddon has himself to thank for the death of a well-loved individual; Ms. Jones, while we wish your realization of the innocence of this dear man would have been brought out sooner, we thank you for your efforts on behalf of his family and admirers around the world. Michael Jackson was just too humble, gracious and giving for this greed driven, politically inept, corrupt world in which we live. Ms. Jones, thank you for doing your part in vindicating his innocent memory.

An Acquittal Is Not The Same As A Fair Trial

This is my second purchase of this book the first is worn from repeated use. Next to the SB Court trial documents there is nothing better for finding answers to what happened in the court room that was not reported to give a balanced view of this trial. I find out of the many of authors who now populate the market with positive books on Michael Jackson that Ms. Jones is the more honest. She writes in her book that she worked for Fox News and previously wrote deliberately unflattering articles about MJ. When she first attended the trial she believed him to be guilty by the same barometer used by most, a combination of deliberately contrived reports and lurid press club he said she said gossip. She wrote this at a time when it was unpopular career wise to do so. This is a book which is meant to be read again and again over a period of time to discover missed details from the previous readings. This book is an excellent accompaniment to the trial records found in the Santa Barbara Public Access database. The trial motion documents will inform you of much of the known, but never reported the behind the scene information from the Defense and Prosecution teams. This book ties together those documents and the court activities providing a more honest picture. This is a must for anyone who wants to understand how Michael Jackson was acquitted despite what was reported and for those who need to know that receiving an acquittal is not the same as receiving a fair trial.

michael jackson conspiracy

Conspiracy not a great title

Everyone recommended this book so highly that I could not wait to read it. It is definitely a good, fast read, but, this author really needed a good editor to make it into a great book. The focus was a bit diffuse...was it about the trial? About the media coverage of the trial? About the public skewering of Michael Jackson? The attempt to get yet more money out of Michael Jackson? The sad story of someone helping from a good heart and having that turned on him, and instead, finding out that he was a mark? Because the focus was not clear, the book was not as satisfying as it could have been. It needed more careful research and accuracy, much better chaptering, more focused titles for chapters. I now want to actually read the trial transcripts. I would like to see a tighter, better volume written about the passion of this most famous of entertainers...carefully researched, balanced for both sides. Because, despite the obvious bias of this book in favor of the defense, it is pretty clear from what was written about the trial testimony that Michael Jackson was targeted and smeared with this trial, by many people, for probably many reasons. And that it must have been very heartbreaking to lose his innocence in such a cruel way, and also be forced into letting go his joyous passion for helping children in great need. A tragedy. The book is worth reading; I hope one day that there will be a volume that actually does justice to the story, the man, the times that made and broke him by the end of that trial. And now, since I am writing this review after his death, how he healed and was coming back to say more to the world through his art. Pedophile? There is no question from the testimonies that the answer is NO. He was not. Criminal? NO. He was not. And we know from this book why the jury acquitted him. Everyone one among us with a modicum of fairness would have done the same. How is it that he still gets so labeled? That would be a great book.

The Uncut Version

This book immediately gets to the heart of the trial and the heart of Michael Jackson. Everything is strictly courtroom; all the things that we weren't privy to coming from media journalists and tabloid reporters. You learn how fortunate Michael was to have such a masterful lawyer as Tom Meserau who was all business, unimpressed with being in tthe spotlight and one of the few people who understood that Michael was fighting for his life. You discover how horrific people can be after you've shown them nothing but pure kindness. You learn how in this world, or at least this country, kindness can lead to your own demise. Aphrodite Jones took a chance writing this book and self-publishing it. As she stated "No American publsiher wanted to touch a Michael Jackson book." This, after he was exonerated. She admits to the negative publicity she, herself, had spread about Michael Jackson, prior to the verdict. But upon further speculation, she admitted that she had only told her stories from one pre-conceived side and wanted to show us a more truthful side, all the things that ended up on the cutting room floor. This she manages to do with excellence and in the process you can't help but learn so much about Michael Jackson the individual, the human being.

Know the Truth

There should be harsh consequences for the media that put this man through what they did. I hold them totally responsible. Even the horrible people that accused Michael Jackson (both times) to gain financially are not as responsible as the media. They are dispicable. Michael Jackson "fell off my radar" during all his tribulations simply because I was having tribulations of my own. All that was going on in his life might as well have been taking place on Mars. Since his death, I have become reaquainted with his genius and his tragedy. This man endured what no one should have to - twice in one lifetime! I believe it killed something inside of him. I thank God for the joy and unconditional love that his children gave him. If you want to know the truth, you owe it to yourself and to Michael to read this book. I also recommend "Redemption", as well as the Maury Povich videos "What You Were Never Meant to See" which show what a farce the Bashir documentary was. Martin Bashir, Nancy Grace, Diane Diamond, Bill O'Reilly, and others (you know who you are), you have this man's blood on your hands. Ian Halpern, you are even worse!

Michael is Innocent!

Before I read this book I was already convinced of Michael's innocence the book only served to convince me even more. The author did a wonderful job going into necessary details and showed the mechanics of how the media can twist things around to make things look worse than they are. Jones also mentions throughout that Michael's fans stuck by him and believed in his innocence as well. I encourage all those who believe Michael to be guilty of his molesting children please read this book. Seems these days people have the attitude that one is guilty before proven innocent instead of innocent BEFORE proven guilty. For some reason the media wanted Michael to be guilty and to ruin his life forever. Is it because they resented his being so wealthy and famous? This book shows how tremendously generous he was especially in regards to children and he would never dream of hurting them emotionally or physically.

Truth and Hard Facts

As I was almost at the end of this book, I found myself closing it, putting it down and then shedding a few quiet tears. Although I knew Michael was treated and judged harshly by the media, the extent of it which this book showed, shocked me. It saddened me greatly to learn how sinister, unforgiving and calculating the media can be. For those concerned that this may be 'fan worship', Aphrodite Jones is one who initially believed him to be guilty, so you can erase that notion immediately. I applaud her for having the courage to take a second, thorough look at all of the facts and coming to the conclusion which the grand jury also came to: Michael Jackson: Not Guilty. She uses actual court transcripts in her account and has studied the actual evidence presented to the court. This is as factual, truthful and unbiased as one can get. For any Michael Jackson fan, this is THE book to arm yourself with when the ignorant naysayers try to attack you. I've told quite a few already to shut up, read this, then come talk to me again. Thank you, Aphrodite Jones, for having the courage to take a second look and realize that initial opinions can be very wrong. Thank you, for your dedication to getting this book published. God Bless You.

spectacular work

i am speechless to know how to describe this book - it is spectacular! there are photos and court documents included, even so far as mj's passenger profile (his preferences of what he likes to eat and drink on airplanes). this book gives actual conversations and testimonies from inside the courtroom from mj's employees, security guards, maids - to boys who stayed at neverland like macaulay culkin, brett barnes, gavin arvizo - to testimonies from janet arvizo, airplane flight attendants, debbie rowe - it is amazing the amount of detail included. it was really cool to see how mj's friends took the stand and blew the accusers right out of the water - the defense did a great job. tom mesereau is outstanding in the job that he did making sure the facts were known to the jury so that the truth could be told in the "not guilty" verdict at the end! the chapters are titled by mj's songs, which i thought was really cool, too. this is definitely one of the best reads i've ever had, period - very informative and very truthful. like the forward says of the book: "it explains in clear and moving detail why an innocent, kindhearted musical genius was aquitted by a conservative jury in santa maria, california."

Vivian

I stayed up all night to finish this book. The more I read the more I am disappointed about the American Justice System, the press and the reporters. California state is facing budget crisis right now because there were too many people just like Tom Sneddon who wasted million dollars of taxpayers money for their own fame. It is indeed a conspiracy that killed Michael Jackson. From a point of view of a foreigner, and I was not a big fan of Michael Jackson, "Shame on American". During the trial, the prosecutors could not have a case so they started taking a cheap shot by bringing up Mr Jackson's financial problem, and even tried to show the picture of his private part. That is just low, really low low low. I believe all the celebrities already learn their lessons from Michael Jackson's tragedy, they won't open their hearts, their doors to any of the needy children. Mr Jackson's generousity had really cost his life, his career, his dignity, his pride, and his privacy. Shame on ABC network for hiring such an dishonest journalist Martin Bashir. Disgrace! Since the passing of Michael Jackson, every American network television start milking money from his death. That is just sick. His mother, a 79 years old heart broken woman who just lost her son now is becoming a target of the sicken media also. Ms. Aphrodite Jones had given us, the readers, a chance to understand what was really going on during Mr Jackson's trial 2005. I am glad that I read her book. Michael Jackson was blessed to have Mr Thomas Mesereau as his lead counsel. Those holywood lawyers should look up to Mr Mesereau. "PREJUDICE IS IGNORANCE"

Innocence is not always a good quality.

I don't know if you're like me, but ever since Michael Jackson passed away, I have been really curious to know the truth. I don't think there has ever been anyone more misrepresented in human history than Michael Jackson. He said in an interview that '99.9% of what's written about me is not true.' He said this long before he ever went on trial. After he was found 'not guilty' of the 10 charges, he was still treated as if he was guilty by the media. Forced to leave the country, to go to Bahrain, like a bird tossed out of its nest, never to return to Neverland again. I wondered: 'well if he's innocent of the trial charges, what about the 1993 case where there was a settlement..' When Aphrodite Jones went to numerous publishers, nobody wanted to publish a pro Jackson book, a book that would tell the truth about the trial. She actually had to self publish. "In this world there are facts, and there are opinions. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, not to their own facts." Senator Patrick Moynihan. I cannot tell you what a relief it is to read a truthful book about Michael Jackson. The further you get into this book, the more you realise how Michael was not only not guilty but truly had the innocence and nature of a 10 year old child. This naivete made him easy prey for a predatory reporter such as Bashir, who got a career making opportunity to film a documentary for free only to taint it with his own duplicity, sinister interpretation and innuendo. He reputedly sold the documentary to ABC for $7 million, and got a job as anchor, destroying MJ in the process without a second thought. After all, would a pedophile invite a camera crew into his home, and admit to sharing a bedroom with 10 year old kids. If children were abused, would there not be an immediate change in their behavior. Would their parents also staying at the house not notice this? No.. Pedophiles act out of compulsion, cannot control themselves, and usually have many victims. This naivete made him easy prey for the Arvizos who did the round of other celebrities such as Chris Tucker, George Lopez, and even Jay Leno looking for a handout. These guys got wiser sooner. Among the many revelations in this book: The Arvizos deny on four separate occasions after the Bashir documentary that any molestation ever took place, on audio tape, on a rebuttal video, to DCFS workers, and to Gavin Arvizo's school principal. Only after visiting the same civil attorney used in the 1993 case, after all this did Arvizo make a final return to Neverland. It is then he alleges the incident happened. Under cross examination, it is established that if Arvizo got a criminal conviction, he could sue MJ in a civil action until he was 18. In the trial, the 1993 evidence was introduced. Jordan Chandler refused to testify against Michael Jackson. His mother did appear as a witness and surprisingly said she never had any qualms about her son being around Michael Jackson. Janet Arvizo gave wild and wacky testimony, alleging that MJ conspired to keep her family captive at Neverland, and that he planned to abduct her son. Meanwhile she charges thousands of dollars for beauty treatments on the Neverland account in a local town, gets dental treatment for her soon paid by Jackson, alleges MJ made her fly to Miami to give a rebuttal interview. The truth is she found out MJ was in Miami and had Chris Tucker charter a jet for her to fly out with her children. Janet Arvizo previously alleged sexual assault against JC Penney when her son was arrested for shoplifting. She claimed a security guard tweaked her nipple 25 times. She won a large settlement. Mesereau exposed glaring inconsistencies in the evidence in that case, particularly her claims that she had been assaulted yet the police photos taken shortly after showed no signs of assault, or even a need for medical attention, yet days later she turns up to an attorney with fresh color photos with bruises. She lied to a newspaper about having not having medical insurance, and lied about the cost of treatment to get them to raise money for her family. What will amaze you as you read this book, is how many viewed Michael Jackson as a meal ticket for life. Disgruntled former employees who had lost multi million dollar lawsuits made the most outrageous allegations, which were skilfully dismantled and disproven by the incisive cross examination of Tom Mesereau. About the 1993 agreement, Jackson said on the Prime Time Diane Sawyer interview, that the only reason he was sitting there giving the interview was that the photographs taken of his parts did not match up with the description of the accuser. There are many more surprises waiting between the covers of this book. If you are filled with a burning curiosity to know the truth, you can feel confident that this book is true. If you are curious to explore even further I may post some links in the comment section below. I hope you find this helpful. Update: As of August 30,2009, I have now reviewed

Beware of the media

I was always fascinated by Michael Jackson, and recognized his amazing talent, but am beyond the age to be a real "fan". However, like so many, I held to this belief that something was "amiss" about him, even though he was cleared of all charges. This book was an eye opener, written by a reporter, taken from actual testimony at his trial and informing the reader on the background of his accusers. It should be a must read for anyone who watches or reads "news". It wasn't just the tabloid "press", it was the mainstream media also that bought into this junk. The saddest part is that once the trial ended, no one bothered to bring all the information that the jury heard forward, until now. Even after his passing, some in the media continue to believe what they want to believe, it makes for higher ratings, which puts money in their pockets. Read this book and you will never read or watch what passes for news in the same way again.

Fascinating insight

Into a world of wealth and a glimpse inside Michael Jackson's private life. I understand now why he was the way he was and it's just sad that he never had any childhood or really close friends. A music genius that was shaped by a strict Jehovah Witness upbringing. He had no Christmas or fun or childhood friends. I always loved his music but like many others thought him very strange. This explains a lot. The book explores the child molestation case that was brought against him and of which he was completely cleared. A very private person who had all things private put out there for everyone to scrutinize. A humiliation I am sure that tortured him. Good read but for all his wealth I felt sorry for him.

Ultimately the truth will prevail.

There is much I can say that will extol and praise this book on its bluntness and its veracity. Ms. Jones has done an preeminent job on revealing the hard cold facts on this eerie case. It actually hard to imagine how this got into trial. The Arivzos family were conspicuously con artists, but inferring one can see that Michael Jackson had gave them the benefit of the doubt. Clearly he loved Gavin and his despicable, ungrateful family and in return got a slap in the face. There was no tangible evidence that displayed Jackson as a pedophile. A person with intelligence can see vividly how ravenous this family is for money. Everything is about money, even the cancer child Gavin Arivzo, the alleged "victim" is hungry after money. It's sickens me to see how the people can be so fixated and obsess with the green bill, even willing to extort someone and situating that person in prison. Ms. Jones demonstrated how blind the media and those who follow their scummy ways can be. Ignoring and becoming oblivious to every sole thing that shown Michael Jackson as the true victim. It's awful that only after his death people cared, people yearn to know more about this man, but that is human nature and its better late than never. I find myself with tears in my eyes after finishing the book, asking myself how can a human being endured all this? From the media scrutiny to being judge on every bantam thing you do. It frightens me just thinking about it. Kudos to the jurors for seeing through the crazy Arivzo clan and looking at all evidence. Well, maybe except for the two that crawled out to receive some fame two months after the trial. All in all, this is a stupendous book that will convey its readers about the trial and the facts that our media friends never acknowledged.

Finally someone who cared to look further into the MJ allegations

I feel sorry for this man who was chewed up and spit out by the press. He gave millions to charity, paid childrens medical bills all over the world, tried to draw attention to society's ills through his music, allowed hundreds of inner city and sick kids to visit his home, equiped a cancer center in New York, a burn center in California, donated entire proceeds from his Victory tour to charity, participated in a benefit for 911 victims, visited sick and orphanted children, granted make-a-wish requests to terminally ill patients, only to be totally ruined by two greedy families, and a press too willing to skew accounts of his life for attention and profit. How would it feel to be Michael Jackson? To have fun made of his skin problems, his insecurity about his looks, to be called wacko jacko, to have every move scrutinized by the press? Evidently, there are alot of people feeling guilty now, as evidenced by all the accolades heaped upon him after his death, by the same press that was so willing to crucify him in life. This was a great book, and I enjoyed the forward by Michael's defense lawyer.

Thank you Aphrodite Jones

Thank you, Ms Jones, for writing this book. Thank you for your honesty. Since Tom Mesereau wrote the forward, I felt it had to be credible. I have the most respect for Tom Mesereau. What a humble man. However, I never, believed any of the allegations about Michael Jackson and always felt that he was a victim of the media and his so called friends, which he went out on a limb for, and they only turned out to be extortionists in the end. Some thanks for all he did for them - may as well have stabbed him in the back. It just makes me so sad that MJ had to endure such grief after all that he had done for so many people and charities. Michael Jackson deserved better, and by Aphrodite Jones writing this book, it makes me feel a little better about it for him. It amazes me that a majority of people out there still have no clue what Michael Jackson was all about. Sleep warm Michael.

The truth is out there, you just need to read it.

I finished the book with a heavy heart. It just shocked me so much, how blinded the DA prosecutor Tom Sneddon was by his vengeance, possibly racism and prejudice against Michael Jackson. This child molest case, did not make sense at all. It is scary what people in power can do particularly when they have a prejudice against certain people. What about "innocent until proven guilty" huh? The accusers' deposition changed all the time, and they said they've been molested but on the other hand the accusers' mother kept praising MJ. And the prosecutors went all out trying to put words in the defense witnesses' mouths that they've been molested by MJ. It was completely ridiculous. And it shocked me just as much, if not more, that the press pick and choose what to report about the trial, mostly negatives and also made things look negative when they were not. And the press simply disregard the positive and strong evidences presented completely. It also shocked me how unsuspecting MJ was towards people around him. Perhaps because the accusers were children, children he helped and loved so much. NObody can understand how MJ felt, being betrayed by people he loved so much over and over again. I thank the author for telling the truth about the case. But I think it will be a better read if she did not praise MJ that much. I do not disagree of what she praised about MJ. Just as Ms Jones described, MJ in my eyes, was "royalty", was amazing, almost "had an aura" around him. But so many praises would probably make people feel that the book is biased. It almost felt like it was written by an overzealous fan. In my opinion it will put off readers who already have prejudice against MJ. But if one can read it with an open heart, disregard the praises, look at the facts brought about by the defense lawyer (ironically, witnesses from prosecutors strengthened the arguments by the defense), you will see that this trial was a joke. A waste of tax payers' money.

Great Non-Fiction Read

Loved this book. It is a very informative and honestly written book about the testimony in the 2005 Michael Jackson trial. I was very interested in reading it and I'm so glad I did. I never heard any of this on the news - they never reported anything positive about the trial except just briefly reported the not-guilty verdict. I think this is book that a lot of people need to read, but unfortunately won't be interested in because they've already made up their minds without even trying to find out what happened. So many people just want to "convict" someone once they hear in the media that they've been charged with a crime without even caring to find out the details. The attitude is usually "well, if he was charged with the crime, there must be something to it." I was amazed to learn about this family that accused him and how they took advantage of his kindness and generosity and that they were after money long before they ever met Michael Jackson. Very well written and thanks Aphrodite Jones for simply putting the truth in print!

Terrible Writing

I heard a podcast with Aphrodite Jones, and the book sounded interesting, so I decided to pick this up when it dropped below $2. Now, I'm only about 40% of the way through the book, but I cannot emphasize how poorly this book is written. I can't believe this got through an editor and out for publishing. On top of that, it's worth noting that Jones writes in the introduction to the book that she was part of the media that expected a conviction in the case, then seems to spend a good portion of the book railing against the people who did the same. This is a painful read and I'm trying my best to finish it because I'm interested in the story, but I would never recommend an Aphrodite Jones book to anyone.

An excellent book and a fascinating read

I got this book the other day and have thoroughly enjoyed reading it. It is factual, but also fascinating and easy to read. It is not at all slow or boring. It takes the reader into the courtroom and allows us to learn about the actual testimony and the actions of the lawyers and witnesses, and the demeanor of all involved, including the media, fans, and Michael Jackson and his family members. Tom Mesereau, Michael Jackson's lawyer, comes across as brilliant. Aphrodite Jones did an awesome job in writing this book and I commend her for standing up and taking on this challenge, especially when she admits she was at first one of those who believed Michael Jackson to be guilty of the crimes her was charged with. I am very, very glad that she was brave and responsible enough to research and write this book, and vindicate Michael Jackson's name. She's an excellent writer. It's good to know that there are some people with integrity in this whole thing since so many seemed and still seem totally without a shred of it.

Conspiracy Indeed - Buy this book

All I can do is commend Aphrodite Jones for writing this book. Michael Jackson has always been a target for the press and this "trial" only proves how much they wanted to dehumanize him and tear him down. I NEVER read books and I started this book on a Sunday afternoon and finished it by Tuesday morning. The numerous facts the media failed to report, or we never heard about is absolutely amazing. Things like Gavin saying Michael put liquor in a Diet Coke to hide the fact he was giving Gavin alcohol. HOWEVER, you learn from a flight attendant (and the evidence submitted showing Michael's special requests filed with the airline) that he ALWAYS requested his own personal drinks in Diet Coke (long before he knew Gavin) cans so people, especially children, would not see him drinking alcohol as he didn't want that exposed to them being he was embarassed by it. The fact the same attorney for Jordan Chandler was yet again involved is quite interesting as well. Not to mention certain elements Gavin took from Jordan's story and incorporated into his, like the hair licking incident. It takes no time at all to learn this family was out to get money from numerous celebrities and the book explains this in full detail. You actually begin to look at the entire family with disgust because they used cancer to their advantage to try and manipulate people like Michael Jackson, Chris Tucker, Jay Leno, and George Lopez. Unfortunately, Michael got the worst of it because he was the easiest and biggest target. It only takes a few chapters in to realize this "trial" was a total joke and had no merit. Michaels team even asked the judge dismiss the case near the end because nothing was being upheld or proven by the prosecution. Michael's defense team disproved everything the DA Tom Sneddon was trying to charge Michael with. Yet, you rarely heard any of this in the media. For those of you that judge simply by your biased opinions from the media, I challenge you to put some effort into your opinions and read this book. Any person who can look at things objectively will most certainly be convinced of his innocence and in turn, realize the 1993 ALLEGATIONS were a hoax as well (I suggest Redemption by Geraldine Hughes to accomodate this book). To those who have always believed in his innocence, I suggest you buy it for the sake of being a fan and helping you be more informed. I've used the knowledge of this book to defend Michael Jackson to numerous people and will continue to do so. God Bless you Michael Jackson. May you rest in peace now knowing people will always believe in you.

Excellent, Excellent, Excellent !!

Excellent! I must commend Ms. Jones for such an inspiring and heartfelt book. Hats off to her for being one of the very few to come forward and admit their mistakes and prejudgement of a man who has done no one any harm or hurt anyone in his entire life. I thank God that someone has finally come forward and did justice to the injustice that Michael Jackson has suffered all his life, injustice that was not deserving of him. I am not really a diehard Michael Jackson fan but I have enjoyed his music immensely since I can remember. He is a music genius and one of the most giving and loving human beings that ever walked this earth. There has been too many untruths, lies and twisted innuendos from the media about Michael Jackson they have tried their hardest to poison the public's mind about Michael and its about time someone writes the truth and expose those who has done this man so many wrongs, scavengers and leeches who just wanted to take whatever they could from him including his integrity, and decency. Thank you Ms. Jones. I cannot forget the man who is responsible for Michael being a free man and that is to Mr. Tom Mesereau you are a gem and a rare one at that you will never, ever be forgotten for what you have done and the man that you are please do not change, you are wonderful.

Great read

I always thought Michael Jackson was innocent of the crimes he was accused of and this book convinced me all the more. I believe he had a true love of children not just because he could trust in the fact they are honest in the wag they feel and say , he knew they wouldn't ever hurt or betray him. But my biggest belief is being a child star robbed him of his childhood hence his need for neverland and his love of children in the purest of love. He helped millions of children with donations to hospitals and lifted the spirit's of kids he visited at the burn centers. RIP Michael Jackson !!

A revelation

I wasn't certain about reading any books about Michael Jackson unless they were written by him. It just seemed that everyone had something to gain from him by sensationalizing his life and whatever lies they chose to conjure up. But Aprhodite Jones was interesting because she intially believed that Michael Jackson was guitly of child molestation until she reviewed the case file herself to uncover the truth. It is difficult for a person to change their own personal opinion of someone and I applaud her for the courage it took to write a pro Michael Jackson book. The book goes into the allegations against Michael Jackson, it includes both the prosecution and the defense witnesses. What I find interesting is the lack of correlation in the stories of the alleged victims and so called witnesses. The alleged witnesses were disgruntled employees who initially stated that no such abuse took place and once they were fired (for criminal reasons) their stories changed. These ex employees changed their story to say they witnesses Michael abusing other children but these children now adults state that no such abuse took place in fact they had pleasant views of Mr. Jackson. Then the accusers in this case their stories never match, the time the alleged abuse took place seemed to change a little bit too often. The family has had a series of run in with lawyers and were already successful at winning civil suits without true merit. The family was able to gain money from other celebrities as well as attempting to fool others, leaving their greatest and last victim as Michael Jackson. The family goes from loving and praising Michael Jackson to claiming kidnapping and child molestation two accusations that by the end of reading this book seem rather ridiculous. I dont even know how this case made it to court it was simply a blatant attepmt for monetary gain and to acquire an undeserving luxurious life it also reminds us about how biased the media has been in there coverage of Michael Jackson. But in the end he still won, he is still the most famous entertainer that ever lived, he died doing what he loved and he passed away peacefully in his sleep without anymore pain. It is a bittersweet recognition. Read the book it is truly worth it.

Compulsory Reading!

I cannot speak highly enough of this book!!! It should be compulsory reading around the world, especially the world media. I always knew Michael Jackson was innocent, but I was not aware of the lengths the media went to in an attempt to prove he was guilty. I was truly disgusted as I read about the biased reporting that occurred during Michael's trial. I was also sick to my stomach as I read about the appalling Arvizo family. In the wake of Michael's death I hope the Arvizo's felt remorse and guilt, but these are two emotions I think they are completely incapable of feeling. If you want to know exactly what happened during the trial you must read this book, but be warned it will make you feel angry and very sad, because of the way Michael was treated. MJ is guilty of one thing - trying to bring happiness into other people's lives. Unfortunately, sometimes he chose the wrong people. Isn't it sad that Michael was not celebrated for his giving and loving nature, but instead vilified! I will defend Michael's honour until the day I die, and after reading this book I now have more concrete evidence of his innocence. Even now I quote from this book to anyone who will listen long enough. Sadly, some people made up their minds about MJ a long time ago based on media reports and will not be swayed from this very false impression they have of him. More fool them I say!!! I implore everyone to read Aphrodite Jones' account of the courtroom proceedings. It is very well researched and written, and has the stamp of approval from Thomas Mesereau, Michael's lawyer, who I must add is an amazing man.

Let the Truth Be Told

This is the book that I was waiting for. Finally someone got it right. This book speaks truh about Michael Jackson. He was not the monster that the media made him out to be. He was a man that deserved to be loved and a man that was loving. Mr. Jackson was not guilty of anything, but that of love. I wish so badly that he could've known that not everyone hated him...and that many loved him very much. I truly hope that those whom caused him pain and suffering will truly pay for their misjudgments. I pray that Michael is in a place of peace and love. I grew up on Michael Jackson. I wish so badly I could've met this wonderful man. Just to tell him that I love him and that he was good. One day I will meet him when I get to heaven. I am sure of it. God Bless you Michael Jackson.

Disturbing and Undoubtedly Tragic!

I have been pleased to receive this book, finally, after waiting quite a while to purchase it. I did like MJ a long time ago when I was a child until I was brainwashed by the press to believe in nonsense about him since 1993. These past nineteen months has been a learning experience for me. And at the same time, I still cannot overcome the anger and regret that I have felt since the summer of 2009. I miss the earlier part of my youth even more now and I wish that I could have the ability to go back in time. But of course, I am unable to do that since I must acknowledge that I really had ONLY one chance to appreciate MJ's presence in this world while growing up. However, that one chance has been ruined thanks to my lack of proper judgment when being mislead by our insensitive and untrustworthy media and press that stopped at nothing to use every manipulative tactic as possible to brainwash the American public. Ms. Jones not only addresses that unethical aspect of the media in her book but she also admits that she has been mislead by the media herself until she witnessed, observed, and reviewed the evidence presented at the trial which proved MJ's innocence. Also, Ms. Jones is clear on how the media seemed to be biased when they presented news from the perspective of the prosecution team only. Ms. Jones is unhesitatant to mention how the Arvizo family tried to take advantage of MJ and also attempted to extort financial gains from him (like the Chandler family did in 1993 just to use the 20 million to make a movie and to renovate their home). She also mentions that the Arvizo family similarly attempted to scam a couple of other celebrities as well. I certainly like how Ms. Jones exposes the Arvizos as vultures that tried to live at the expense of others while engaging in fraudulent activity. Ms. Jones also reveals that Jason Francia confessed that there was never any wrongdoing committed by the pop star and that Francia's family was also motivated by greed to accuse MJ so that they could also extort funds from him. It is interesting that Ms. Jones exposes Bashir as a journalist that wanted to enhance his career and earn a huge salary for his infamous documentary. She also reveals that District Attorney Sneddon (that represents the Arvizos) is not well - respected in the Santa Maria area. In addition, Ms. Jones convinces the reader that this was indeed a serious and a legitimate trial that MJ had to endure and that he never "bought" anything to walk away free. Furthermore, Ms. Jones even mentions how those in the media savagely wanted MJ to be convicted so that they could gain more profits and recognition in the world. But they were proven wrong in the end even though we continued to be mislead by those scumbags. Ms. Jones also describes defense attorney Mesereau as someone who really wanted to take care of business and that he was effective during the cross examination of phoney witnesses that accused MJ of things he didn't do. All this has made me realize that people should not rely on mainstream and tabloid sources for news. Please, just boycott ET, Inside Edition, TMZ, Access Hollywood, E-news, National Enquirer, and so forth. I (both as non-fan and as someone who was manipulated by the media) now realize that sources like those do not provide reliable news but only dirt. I am sickened that many of us have taken a great artist for granted all because of those sick, dishonest, filthy con artist pigs that the press and media ended up feeling sorry for just to increase their TV ratings. Screw them all! I apologize to those who were intelligent enough to defend MJ in 1993 and during his trial in 2005. I would also suggest reading Geraldine Hughes book, "Redemption" to have a glimpse of how all this mess started from the beginning.

An Intriguing Read

I'll admit that I was initially apprehensive about reading this book. It wasn't entirely sure whether it was another book written for the sake of sensationalism. I was very suprised when I started reading and couldn't put the book down. I read this in three sittings. The strength of the book lies in the fact that Aphrodite Jones presents court testimony that was largely unreported in the media. It wasn't hearsay or gossip, but actual court transcripts that she gained access to. When I got to the end of the book, I wished Aphrodite had written more. For those who are interested in how Tom Mesereau (MJ's defense attorney) won the case, this is for you. I suspect that even the skeptics who think that MJ was guilty but let off because of his superstar status will see how weak the prosecution's case was. It's difficult not to think how incredulous some of the testimony was - the mother claiming she had thought about escaping from Neverland via a hot air balloon during the time she insisted she and her family were held captive at the ranch. Perhaps she didn't realize she could have just walked out of the gates and run across the street to get help. It is amazing that this made it to trial. And after it did, the prosecution was either very unprepared or the evidence was simply weak. After reading the entire book, one can't help but wonder how this case (and perhaps the previous allegations) indirectly contributed to MJ's death. It is almost not surprising that he retreated into his own world and felt most comfortable around children. It was probably the safest place for him. He paid the ultimate price of superstardom and this book is another insight to the life he lived and the humiliation he faced.

And the truth shall set you free

Finally a truthful and factual account of the facts of this trial and these false allegations. I don't understand that people find it so hard to imagine that someone as famous and wealthy and generous as Michael Jackson could be the victim of extortionists, grifters and people simply blinded by greed. I never believed that the allegations were true, but the media coverage of the trial was so painful to watch, that mostly, I looked away and waited for it to be over. But now, to have this book and read the testimony...well, I'm grateful to Miss Jones for this book because I can say to people who still doubt, "read this book, do your own research, the facts tell the story". And it is a story of false allegations. Period. The prosecution was out for blood and if there was one shred of evidence, they would have found it, they would have gotten a conviction. There is huge motivation to convict a child molester, no matter who he is. But the TRUTH is, that there was not ONE piece of EVIDENCE, there was not one credible testimony, there was nothing that even made sense. The fact that the MOTHER of the first accuser comes forward to say that she didn't have anything to do with those charges, that she has nothing but praise for Jackson and that she hasn't seen her son in 11 years? Does that sound like the mother of a victim? I don't think so. I am a mother and there is no way that if I truly believed my son had been molested, would I ever take a cash settlement and agree to "go away". Nor would any parent who truly believed their child had been hurt. You would go for conviction not only for your child but for future possible victims. Justice would be what you would be after, not money. And where are these boys now? They are both adults now (if Gavin isn't, then he will be very soon). They cannot come forward and tell their stories because, and I don't know the law on this, but wouldn't they be opening themselves and their families up to being charged with making false allegations if they tell the truth now? I think they are ashamed for what they did to the person who did nothing but be kind and generous to them and they have no doubt taken on new identities. No one seems to know where they are. One of the reviewers here states that pedophiles cannot control themselves, that it is a compulsion and there are always multiple victims. So, of all the hundreds of children that were around Jackson for years and years, there were two accusers whose stories didn't add up and were proven to not be credible. I honestly don't know much about Jordie, but there is that tape of his father saying that, "there's no way I don't win in this." That statement alone is enough to know that the father was in it for the money and it has been shown that he was in dire financial straits when the accusation was made. Sorry, back to the book. I found it very interesting to the point on certain testimony I found myself gasping at the flat out lies, incosistencies and ludicrous timeline. This man was innocent and falsely accused. And when you know how much children meant to him, what a phenomenal father he was and how much he did for hundreds of charities throughout the world, it is heartbreaking to imagine how much this hurt him. It seems that at the end of his life he was finally getting over this horrible time in his life and was preparing a phenomenal show. He was in great voice and his moves were as mesmerizing as ever. This is It is a wonderful tribute to the unique artist that he was. I believe that the truth has set him free and that history will remember this great artist for the amazing music and dancing that he gave to the world and for his message of peace, love and treading lightly on the planet. Thank you Miss Jones for setting the record straight!

Facsinating book, finished it in two days, couldn't stop reading.

This is a must-read for both fans and non-fans. It really shows how the media can distort anything. There are some issues. The writing feels at some points like a fan-book. The chapter titles are totally pointless. There are some photos which don't exist, but still have "placeholder" writing in the finished book! very unproffesional. But all of this doesn't change the fact that it is a detailed description of what really happened in this stupid trial that shouldn't have gone to trial in the first place. You'll read things that will shock you. Not about Michael Jackson, but about the prosecution and the so-called "victims". Highly recommended, but a note to the author - a second edition with some typos and the things mentioned above is recommended.

Excellent Book!

I grew up listening to Michael--I am close in age to him. I bought into a lot of what the media was saying about the molestation charges. I found myself feeling awfully sad after he passed and have been reading a lot about him as well as listening to his music. This book explained so many things about the 2005 trial and the people who accused him. After reading it any doubts I ever had have been put to rest. I feel terrible about what he must have went through and the lies that were told about him. Anyone interested at all in Michael Jackson should read this book! The picture Ms. Jones included of the accuser with his arm in a sling after the supposed JC Penney incident was very telling. Never saw it anywhere else. There's A Lot in this book that I have never read anywhere else. The media only told us what they wanted us to hear.

Saddest revelations ever

After reading this very informative and well written book, if I had had any doubts about his innocence for either of Michael's horrible cases, they would have been totally obliterated. (I was not distracted by the few typos). I had no doubts, however, of his innocence. I didn't realize how sinister our judicial system could still be played out. I watched the video of the Gavin Arvizo being questioned on the Smokinggun website before I read this book. My son and I both said, "He's lying." It was as plain as day from his body language, and his answers, for us. Someone who reviewed before me, mentioned that they cried, and got angry while reading it. So did I. Ms. Jones, thanks for changing your attitude, and for having the desire to find out why Michael's fans believed, and love him so faithfully. This is one time the truth set someone free, but way too late for permanent recovery of a kind and generous soul. It's too bad that the DA, his prosecution cronies, along with the heartless detractor media members, can't be put on trial for their "Sweep the leg" tactics. By this, I mean that after breaking Michael's heart the first time, he was still able to stand, but was injured in his heart. To finish him off, take his stand away, they tried using the nemesis character's method of defeat that was used in the movie "Karate Kid." The cruel the nefarious 'Sweep the leg.' My heart stays saddened, and is reminded every day by the American tragedy revealed in detail in this book. The jurors were smarter than they were given credit for as a whole. If only for the sake of Michael's memory, I wish his first accuser would tell the truth as he knows it, and not wait until his father and uncle aren't around to stop him. Also, Tom Mesereau is the best. His valor is evident, his brilliance, and team unmatched. If Johnny Cochran did anything right, the greatest thing was when he referred this case to Tom Mesereau. The book didn't waste time getting to the meat of the conspiracy, but allowed the reader to see exactly how it was set up. Aphrodite Jones, did a great work with this book. Bless her.

Fair Trial and Media Bias

This book is factual and we are spared some of the more brutal details. Aphrodite Jones by her own admission says she reported in a negatively biased manner in Jackson's previous dealings with Jordy Chandler, the first person to acuse Michael Jackson of child molestation. Michael Jackson seems to attract negative media and it seemed it would be difficult for him to get a fair trial. Somehow Aphrodite Jones must have felt the 'guilts' and seen the injustice of this reporting in the media by herself and other journalists, so decided to do something about it. She actually had to self publish as no-one wanted to publish a pro-Jackson book about this trial. Tom Mesereau, leader of the Defence team has written a forward in this book and said up to date, this is the truest account of what really happened in this trial. The title of the book Conspiracy is so apt. Conspiracy on which level? How did this trial even get to court? I do not live in the USA and do not work in any legal field, however it is glaringly obvious that the Prosecution's case was very contrived and based on weak evidence. You do not have to be Einstein to see this. What a waste of taxpayers money (I believe the cost of the trial was massive) and time for all concerned. There was nothing positive in this for anyone. What drove this, one has to ask? The book can be seen to be pro-Jackson as it shows how injustices can be perpetrated by the law. It also can be seen to be heartening as it is the little people-the jury, who have the final say. Various pictures in the book are good also. This is well worth the read and brings up a lot of questions about a fair trial and the obtaining of justice.

The honest truth

I never really believed the allegations against Michael Jackson and really wanted to know what happened in the court room. This books gives you accurate accounts of what really happened in the court room, not just what the media wanted you to know. I'm glad that Ms. Jones chose to write the truth and not continue to spread the lies of the mass media. After reading this book, I wonder how this case even went to trial. The allegations are baseless and the Arvizio family are not trust worthy. These people used their son's sickness as a pay day, taking advantage of Michael Jackson, Chris Tucker, Jay Leno, and many other caring celebrities. They should have been punished for making a mockery of the justice system and wasting tax payers time and money.

Very Good Read

I wish that I had read this book right after the last trial instead of waiting until his death. I have always been a fan of his since his young days and am about his age, so feel as though I grew up with him in a sense. Saying that, I was saddened when the first allegations came out and hoped that there was no truth to them. It is so completely amazing how he was crucified in the press. It didn't seem to matter what he did, it was never good enough for the media. It makes me so sad for him and his family and now his children. As he stated, he was a human being and deserved to be treated as such. Adored by so many fans that he couldn't have a normal life even if his childhood had been a "normal" one. But the media -- I just cannot believe how situations can be twisted and innuendos can be stated as fact and people like Diane Dimond who have made their careers just demonizing him are allowed to be doing that. I don't know how some of these individuals even sleep at night. In any event, working in the legal field for the past 20 years, I was not surprised that he settled the civil suit in the 90's and understood perfectly why he would want to do so. First and foremost, he spared himself from what he would go through 10 years later. Anything that was positive about him or disproving of the allegations were not brought to light so the stigma that he was left with was unconscionable. So, I was glad to read something about him that was true and positive.

Informative

Ms. Jones reconstructs the trial using all the testimony and exhibits. She is honest enough to admit that she initially assumed Jackson was guilty, but was convinced otherwise by the evidence. She was further convinced that the case was always utterly baseless and was brought due to a personal vendetta on the part of the DA, with plenty of support by the media for ratings. This book has a foreword by Tom Meseareau, Jackson's very capable attorney. It is the only book to my knowledge that he agreed to participate in, which bolsts its credibility in my eyes. I gave this 4 stars instead of five only because I think it could have used some editing. But 5 stars for substance.

Fascinating read

It's been a long time since I've read a book that I simply could NOT put down. I had never read a "true crime" book before until now, nor had I ever heard of Aphrodite Jones before. As a matter of fact, I found her while looking up an MJ video on YouTube and saw "Michael Jackson - Aphrodite Jones" and thought "Aphrodite Jones" was an MJ song/video I'd never heard or seen before. LOL! And, that's my funny story about how I found this little gem of a book. Since I was, obviously, not that big of a fan, I didn't pay too much attention to the 1993 stuff and in 2003 when he was in trouble again for allegedly the same thing, well, I shook my head and thought "They finally got him!" But then, that day a few years later when he was acquitted of all 14 counts - 14! I became a little skeptical. You would think that if someone was TRULY GUILTY, something would have stuck, right? Hmmmm.... Life goes on, and I didn't care too much. I figured Michael Jackson was gone for good. (I certainly would have been!) Then after he died, I started to do my own research into the case and came to my own conclusions about the whole sorry mess. My thinking about Michael Jackson - and those ugly allegations against him, changed quite drastically and that's when I found this book. It arrived on Friday; I was done by Saturday. Mrs. Jones gets a standing ovation from me and 5 gold stars. It's quite apparent - after reading this - why a jury found Michael Jackson "not guilty." Not only did I come away from this fascinating read thinking MJ innocent of the 2003 allegations; I came away thinking he was innocent of the 1993 allegations as well. This book is one that EVERYONE should read. It is a wake-up call to everybody to question the media and their motives. More importantly, it's a call for everyone to stop being so LAZY and THINK FOR THEMSELVES!!!

Definitely the One

Please Read This Book

Ever since Michael Jackson's death, like many people, I have found an interest in reading about his life. I have always been a fan of his but I admit that it took for him to pass for me to really appreciate him and want to buy books about him. I recommend this book so much I don't even know where to start. Some people may disagree with me but even from the very beginning, I KNEW that he did not do anything to children. He was just a naive, sweet, giving person and people took advantage of that. This book confirmed my beliefs as well as informed me on things that I wasn't quite knowledgable in. When the 2005 trial first started, I was a junior in high school and I admit, I didn't follow on it as I would have liked to. Actually, I had slightly lost interest in him because I was listening to the garbage that the media was reporting. After I saw the "baby dangling", I'm like "what is wrong with him? what is he thinking?" It was not reporting that he was showing the baby to fans. Instead, it was reported that "Wacko Jacko is randomly dangling his baby over a balcony". Then when I saw him on TV coming to court late, coming to court in pajamas, I'm like "ok, mike can't get any more bizarre". This book has enlightened me on so much that I feel more bad for him than ever. The book talks solely on the 2005 trial and on the 1993 allegations. This book is wrote as if you too were in the court room observing it. After reading this book, I've learned that basically the media tells half the truth and reports what it wants to report. The media rather reported that "Wacko Jacko arrives in pj's" instead of "Michael Jackson needed to go to the doctor due to not feeling well. The judge demanded that he comes and therefore he arrived as is in pj's". I did not know anything about the 1993 allegations nor the 2005 allegations. I was just happy when I watched the verdict on TV and he was not guilty as expected. Please read this book if you want to know the truth about the trials. You will see that his accusers were nothing but bad, rude little brats whose families took advantage of Michael Jackson's love that he had for people, children in particular.

Worth reading

For starters, this book won't appeal to someone who isn't a Michael Jackson fan. Maybe that's why it gets so many rave reviews. When I first began reading this book, I was shocked and turned off by the blatant typos. One has a certain expectation from a book that's been published - that it has been edited properly as well. Nonetheless, I was compelled to read further because I really wanted to find out what happened in the courtroom. It's so difficult to break down my analysis of the book but this is one of the few times when I had to sit down and write a review. So let's start with what I didn't like (the reason why this doesn't get 5 stars): If I ignore all the typos that make this book seem like a rush job (even though Ms. Jones writes that this book sort of dragged on and was hard for her to finish) there is also the problem of redundancy. Jones repeats the same things over and over again in each chapter as far as fan reaction and Michael Jackson's reaction goes. Knowing her observations of Michael Jackson's reactions and demeanor during the trial was a crucial element in this book but the same few details didn't have to be repeated over and over. Another problem I had with this book is that Jones found that presenting the weaknesses of the prosecution's case gave her leeway to rush through the defense's case. I would have liked to know more about how the defense presented its case. She also rushes through a lot of testimony; if she is putting her effort into going through actual court transcripts she might as well add more details rather than summarizing. One last problem I had with this book is one that I'd have with any book - You can never tell how much of it is accurate. This book is not going to unfold and completely pick apart the Michael Jackson conspiracy - no book can because ultimately you're going with someone else's word and nothing can be completely unbiased. A few personal problems I had with this book are that I started off with my own bias - that Michael Jackson is innocent and though I have strong reasons for strongly believing that, the fact of the matter remains that there is a certain degree of speculation that will always be involved in any judgments we make about someone, especially someone we've never met. This book doesn't accomplish all that it promises to. What I did like about the book is that it stresses the fact that what media coverage of this case was one sided and highly sensationalized. People would focus on MJ arriving to the case in pajamas - anything to make him look like a lunatic. What I did like is that Jones kept noting Michael's facial expression whenever someone he trusted came up to testify against him. Ms. Jones, rather than sensationalizing MJ, really did try to portray him as a human being on trial. We're entitled to our own opinions but not to our own facts and the fact is that Michael was found not guilty of all fourteen charges and the book shows strong evidence of the fact that it wasn't his stardom that saved him but the fact that these charges were based on poor, inadequate evidence. I feel tempted to believe that a lot of what Ms. Jones writes in this book is accurate based on the claim that it's coming from actual transcripts and Tom Meserau supports it. Other than that, it really depends on the reader. This book is more of a collaboration of facts and data with Ms. Jones's commentary on MJ's demeanor during the trial. As far as prose goes, Ms. Jones is pretty sloppy. It just seems as though the entire book was copied and pasted fragments of court transcripts held together by frequent summaries and commentary. Ultimately, it's all about the content and for those who are more skeptical, this book won't do much.

LOVE IT! COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN.

GREAT GREAT BOOK!! Glad to finally hear a journalist honest enough to write something truthful about Michael Jackson and not try to purposely paint him with a tainted brush. What I appreciate most about this book is that it was written by someone who had initially been part of the media lynch mob during the trail mayhem but came to see the light after stopping to seriously look at the evidence. Any clear thinking individual could see the collective effort by the media to smear Michael's name then and even now in death. The book really shines the light on the biased reporting from the media in regard to Michael but in my eyes, this tactic is used everyday on any and every new topic. They are presenting you their "opinion" as shaped by their bosses, ultimately it comes down to someones decision as to what is reported and how it is reported so as to shape public opinion. A reporter's choice of words or buzz words, (bizarre, unusual, weird, etc) will shape the public opinion one way or the other for better or for worse. In this case it was intentionaly for the worse. Sadly Michael's tale ended so tragically. During the time of the trial, I was afraid Michael wouldn't make it emotionally through it and though he was aquitted he was still broken. He was never the same. The damage was done. People could never look at him the same anymore and that's what killed him. The pills just helped to kill the pain, the emotional pain. Anyway, this book really guides us through the court room happenings and artfully compares how those events were presented by the media. How the media chose to focus on the spectacle thus creating the very spectacle they were creating. Tabloid reporters like Diane Dimond (ET),Nancy Grace, and counteless others fanned the flames with the most vile ideas and rumours against Michael. Leading the witch hunt of celebrities who started bashing MJ publicly on the red carpet. I've hated Martin Bashir ever since seeing his documentary and I hate him even more after reading this book. A true snake in the grass. I refuse to watch Nightline with him as host. I will write and protest abcnews until they remove that Bashir. He set Michael up for the vultures. I will never watch ABCNEWS as long as he is there, please join me in protest for Michael's sake. GREAT GREAT BOOK!!

Incredible Book!!!

This book is a must read! Finally the truth, not misconceptions! Kudos to Aphrodite Jones for her investigative skills and for having the courage to admit she had been wrong in her initial opinion of MJ. I'm trying to understand one thing - why has Amazon deleted the Product Description and the Editorial Review from this book? It was there all summer, now it's gone. I chose to purchase this book based on the product description (and reviews). I feel it should still be listed, and since I had printed it out over the summer, I am going to type it here verbatum: From the PUBLISHER: "He was the pop icon the media loved to hate. Tremendously wealthy, inarguably eccentric, and one of the most famous people in the world, Michael Jackson was the unenviable target of constant public humiliation. Here, she makes amends with what is not only a truthful, well-documented chronicle of the entire trial but a powerful indictment against the media for conspiring to distort, dehumanize, and destroy Michael Jackson. Jones argues convincingly that the case against Jackson amounted to nothing more than a media-made, tax-paid scandal, and she makes an impassioned call to action for the public-at-large to think critically, question the integrity, and demand the truth in "the news"." "To anyone who wants to learn what happened in the Michael Jackson courtroom, this is the book to read." - Thomas A. Mesereau, Jr., Michael Jackson's lead counsel. "The media anticipated the legal equivalent of a lynching...To spike ratings, they covered the man, not the evidence...The end result was the further blackballing of Michael Jackson's reputation." - Peter Shaplen, official media pool coordinator, the Michael Jackson trial. "Aphrodite Jones provides the detail that we never got in the news media and vividly captures the phenomenon that was the Michael Jackson trial. It's a deeply researched, intense account that keeps you anxiously awaiting the next scene." - Roy Black, criminal defense attorney and NBC legal commentator.

Was Michael Jackson Innocent?

IF YOU WANT THE FACTS REGARDING THE CASE AGAINST MICHAEL JACKSON IN SANTA MARIA, READ THIS BOOK. What you will find in this book: -A chronological listing of events and testimony from the famous Michael Jackson trial in Santa Barbara county -An introduction to Tom Sneddon, the DA (lead prosecutor)- a man who believed Michael Jackson to be a dangerous sexual predator of young boys; who confidently presented witnesses to the jury to support his case; who appeared genuinely surprised and disgusted when the witnesses weren't percieved by the jury to be credible; who ultimately had to accept a verdict that he didn't believe from a sound jury (though he came dangerously close to saying he didn't believe in the entire judicial system); and who didn't get to "nail that guy" -An introduction to Tom Mesereu, lead defense attorney- brilliant, simply stated but not understated, highly focused and intense- the unfolding of the defense had me squirming in its presentation- it's like he can take away a part of you, piece by piece, and before you know what's happening, there you are -An opportunity to undertake the relentless task of sifting through a ton of information, whittling it down to what you believe to be concrete, derive an opinion, and see how that jives with the jury What you won't find in this book: -Entertainment Tonight, Hard Copy, Vanity Fair, 60 minutes, FOX, CNN, Connie Chung, Dianne Sawyer, Oprah or any sensational news story or broadcast (except by reference in the trial) -A description of Michael Jackson's private parts (I had to say it- I mean everyone seems to talk about it)- trust me, these proceedings are dramatic enough without it -Undue subjective oration My LEAST favorite thing about this book: The title. I mean really. Whether you are a bleeding heart Michael Jackson fan, or a mother scared that people like Michael Jackson might be grooming your kids for sex, you are going to wonder what the title means- and what that might mean in terms of content. I wondered before I bought it- is this some crackpot trying to say that Michael Jackson was a victim of Sony, untoward press, and some pissed off parents in collusion to get money? Then about 2/3 of the way through the book I realized that the alleged victim and his family had charged that Michael Jackson had conspired to keep them prisoners at Neverland before they wanted to escape by hot air balloon. For me, I didn't even know this WAS a charge made by them. I thought it was all about the safety of their child from a sexual predator. My MOST favorite thing about the book: The picture of the jury when the verdicts came down. You could just look at this picture, at these faces, and know- well, everything. The trial, the exhaustion, the surety, the relief, the belief in their unity and ultimate decisions. You know how you could tell everything from the picture in Tieneman square and not be told anything and chills ran down your spine? That's how I felt when I saw this picture.

Thank you so much, Aphrodite Jones, for being a real, honest journalist!!

You HAVE TO read this book if you want to know what really happened in the 2005 trial. I never believed any of the accusations that were made against Michael Jackson because there is no way that someone who makes such beautiful music and gives so much to the world can possibly do such unimaginable things. Yet, the media continued to skew their coverage, and made assumptions that he was guilty when there was absolutely NO EVIDENCE whatsoever! That family was NUTS! They took away his freedom, his beloved Neverland, and everything! I truly admire MJ for being so strong and remaining a good person in spite of all the shame, torture and everything that the conniving family and DA snodden put him through... it's absolutely horrible. I have so much respect for Aphrodite Jones who wrote this book based on FACTS! I was so moved and angry at the same time that people would often make comments about MJ without knowing the truth! Also, I deeply admire Tom Mesereau! He is a true lawyer, and his foreword shows what a wonderful person Michael Jackson was and that Aphrodite Jones should be commended and recognized highly for this book. This book will blow you away! AMAZING!

Why can't the Truth be reported without bias!!!

This is a must read for anyone who had doubts, and anyone who would like to know the truth about Michael's Criminal Trial. Ms. Jones played a part in trashing MJ, when she started covering this trial, but IMHO she has redeemed herself and I hope she is proud of her book! Such a shame Michael so many millions of naysayers don't know the truth. Michael... was a blessing to the World! I'm not much on posting reviews, but this one deserves a read... it is very well done and the truth about the 03' allegations against a truly nice man, a childlike man, a hero to thousands' of children, and the world's best ever entertainer, one that will never be replaced. He always helped children .... hundreds of thousands of children, are we really so naive to believe only two in the past 30+ years would be the only two to come forward. If you loved Michael, you owe it to his memory to know the truth, a mockery of a trail, a media mayhem to destroy this very childlike giving, quiet, and loving man. I hope a movie is made just of his trial, to show the world the truth, the ridicule he endured, the pain he suffered during this ordeal, the life he lost when it was over.

OMG! Amazing Book!!!!

I just want to say this was an amazing book. It made me go out on the internet to find the court transcripts and read them completely. They were just as enlightening as this book was. Thomas Messereau was even more amazing in his defense of this case. I'm glad Michael Jackson had him as his lead counsel. Whatever you might think about Michael Jackson the one thing you discover from this book and the court transcripts is that this was about nothing but MONEY! It just proves the old saying that money is the root of all evil!. Thanks Aphrodite for setting this record straight. I knew back in 2005' when I watched this 3 ring circus play out by the news media that they weren't giving me the full story. I always know that for every story there is another side to that story. I don't always pay a lot of attention to what the news media reports today because I know they are about nothing but sensationalism, ratings, and money. It's just too back that they brainwashed many people (or as I call them: HATERS) to their side. I also want to thank Thomas Messereau for always sticking by Michael Jackson's side even after the trial. Even to this day he is still defending the man when he doesn't even have to. GREAT BOOK! WELL WORTH THE PRICE!!!!

If you want to know the truth

This book "Conspiracy" provides details of the trial that the media failed to report to the public. Shame on the media and the tabloids that only printed the lies and ignored the facts. Twelve members of the jury, found Michael Jackson INNOCENT of all charges against him. Michael's reputation was forever tarnish and hopefully now his name can be cleared in the eyes of the world. Beware of other books "Unmasked" by Ian Halprin..... Pure rubbish. Another excellent book "Redemption" by Geraldine Hughes reveals facts in 1993 case the public never knew, but again should have. Michael deserves the truth to finally come out.

She saw the disgusting tactics media outlets were using to make MJ a ...

I read this book 2 months, after Michael's death (in 2009). The people who criticize this book (as if THEY researched the OFFICIAL documents, transcripts, photos, videos, interviews) are clearly brainwashed by the same media and colleagues Aphrodite criticized. It's ironic those who have a burning desire to believe the media circus, accuse Aphrodite of being biased. This proves you either: a) have an agenda or b) lack reading comprehension. APHRODITE WAS A FOX NEWS REPORTER WHO WAS ANTI-MICHAEL!! She argued with Geraldo ON THE AIR, and accused MJ of being guilty. This trial CONVERTED HER. She saw the disgusting tactics media outlets were using to make MJ a monster. She was also denied by major publishers, who told her they did not want a positive MJ book. In order to clear her conscience, Aphrodite released this book, in 2007. Thank you, Aphrodite. At least you tried to make amends, before MJ died, 2 years later. I encourage anyone who hasn't been completely brainwashed by the media circus: read this book.

SHEDS LIGHT ON MEDIA AND LEGAL MANIPULATION

I wasn't a great Michael Jackson fan prior to his death. Sure, I had one of his Cd's but that was the extent of it. After he died I became very curious about the court case and wanted to read what evidence was presented. What I found particularly interesting about this book was that the writer wasn't a fan and actually went in with the attitude that he was guilty. The author explains that it was only after hearing the evidence that she was actually driven to write the book. I found the book hard to put down once I started reading it. It feels as though you're actually present when reading it. I found it to be very informative. I wish people would read this as it shows how a person can be destroyed by manipulative lawyers and media, egos and greed. It is a 'fine' example of injustice and 'man's inhumanity to man'. If only Jackson's 'haters' would read this. This book has actually inspired me to read more books about him and now I have actually become a passionate fan.

The truth about the Trial

Its difficult actually to read this book, because you can see all Michael had to get through and all the "untold" history behind. As Michael fan, who has to read all the bullshit said about him, this is kind of refreshing and very tough at the same time. To see how media and everyone manipulated the truth to make him look like the bad guy and destroy all his career, its very sad. A must read for every MJ's fans, and in fact, a must read for everyone who is looking for the truth.

This won't convince everyone

I was one of those people who did believe MJ was guilty and got away with it. I did not follow the whole media circus in 2005, but ofcourse .. being alive on this planet and owning a tv, I was fed with media BS. What Ms Jones so succesfully brings across in this book is that we, the people, are being manipulated on a 24/7 basis. And if you were apathic and worn down by the media, like I was; opinions other than your own just nest in your brain without any thought. I finished reading the book in almost one go. It is easy to read and the subject is fascinating (morbidly enough). I had hoped though that it would have been written in a more objective manner. Ms Jones is very much pro-Jackson. If you're not a MJ-fan, this will have to be something you need to set aside. I found it difficult sometimes because I was feeling I was being manipulated again by the media, Ms Jones in this matter. Having said all this; I finished reading the book knowing that justice was done when MJ was found not guilty. Not just because Ms Jones writes so, not just because a jury said so. But because I started using my brain again and logically came to that conclusion. It's a painful one. I guess it was easier for me to believe that one eccentric man was able to be guilty of a dispicable crime than it was for me to believe that greed dehumanizes a person (a family) to such an extend that they would bite the hand that was giving them so much. Even Judas would have hung his head in shame. But this was a reality that MJ was living with every day, not just from this family but from a lot of people pretending to have his best intrest at heart. For that, I earn MJ a big apology and respect. Unfortunately it's too little ... too late. If you even have the slightest bit of your mind still open ... even if it's just a little; read this book.

Illuminating

This book is a must for anyone at all interested in the extortion attempts against Michael Jackson. Read Aphrodite Jones' account of the 2005 criminal trial and you will be relieved that someone has exposed the truth, and also the media hypocrisy. Thank goodness justice prevailed, but we will probably never know how much of a toll it took on Michael's health to go through such an ordeal. The realisation of this brought tears to my eyes. I burnt the midnight oil finishing this book - fascinating, riveting and honest. I can't recommend it highly enough.

The Truth Deserved To Be Told

The mass media portrayed MJ as a weird guy and led people believed the way they wanted, and his name always only associated with negative things. That's why young people like me did not have much chance to see all the positive sides of MJ. But truth and justice prevail! If you pay attention to Michael Jackson the person, you will find out not only he's a genius, but also a loving and caring man. I was never a Jackson fan before he passed away... I regret to learn about this great person too late. I wish everyone with a heart will learn the truth one day. After finishing the book, I felt sad and angry...sad for what Michael had to go through, but angry because I felt ripped off and betrayed by the mainstream media. Thanks Aphrodite Jones for the truthful review of what happened inside the case. No sensationalism in this book. The true story deserved to be revealed. If you want to know why MJ was acquited, here's the book.

Court transcripts...not media speculation

I was tired of reading the negative publicity about MJ from the media perspective. I found this an interesting read.

Facts prove his innocence

I was never much of a fan of MJ but I did grow up with his music and liked many of his songs. Back in 2005 I was among those who thought MJ was probably guilty. After his death I became consumed with wondering if he was guilty of the charges against him or if he was misunderstood and a victim of Extortion. I really began to dig into the actual facts of his trial, his life, and the person that he was. I researched everything available including watching his home movies to watching the negative interviews such as Bashirs documentary and then watching the clips from Martin Bashir's documentary that had been edited out or unreported by the media. It became very clear to me that this film was edited for the sole purpose of painting a very negative picture of Michael. The unedited and unreported parts of this documentary truly shed a whole different light on Michael and this new shed light was very postive on who MJ really was. It is sad that Bashir would edit this film in such a way as to make it appear that MJ was something other then what he was but negative reports are what sells and people love dirty laundry. Bashirs dirty laundry masterpiece of lies landed him a job with Nightline. Nevermind that Bashir had been reprimanded twice for unethical reporting in Britain prior to his documentary on MJ. In addition, even Martin Bashir himself admitted on CNN the day that mJ died that he believed that Michael was an innocent man. Much thanks to Maury Povich, Geraldo Rivera, youtube for drawing attention to the unedited version of this documentary. Much thanks to Geraldo Rivera and others who were a voice that was constantly screaming out the true facts about MJ from the very beginning. I also read the trial testimonies of the witnesses and the accusers. I read about his accusers past history of lying and fraud. Once again it became very clear to me that the accusers were lying for the sole reason of obtaining money from Michael. There are more holes in the accusers stories then in swiss cheese. Aphrodites book was a great help to me in sorting through what was fact and what was fiction about MJ and the trial. It also was a collaboration of the facts that I had already previously read through other sources. The more I dug into the actual court documents and court testimony in this case, the more I have become convinced that Michael was an INNOCENT man! In fact it is unbelievable that this case even went to trial based on the lack of evidence and the prior record of the accusers. Testimony for the prosecution ended up being witnesses for the defense. It disturbs me greatly to see how the media continually reported NON-FACTS and out right blatant lies without even checking to see if what they were reporting was true! I do believe that the media bares much of the blame for destroying an innocent man whom they greviously slandered and are still slandering. I would hope that everyone would read this book and check into the actual facts of this case and share it with their friends and family and co-workers. It is my hope and desire that as people become aware of the truth surrounding Michael that his good name may be restored in the court of public opinion. I'm just sorry that it had to come too late to tell him that we are sorry!

For the love of Michael Jackson

This book was outstanding, not only did aphrodite jones print the truth, she gave Michael Jackson his dignity back, she always kept in him the light, knowing the truth on how the media operates for ratings. I tip my hat off to her for a wonderful book, having the court transcripts which puts a whole new spin on what these people were doing to MJ. I read it twice-She talks of Michael as a beautiful person, and I appreciate that being a MJ fan. You can tell the authors that are MJ fans because they keep him in the positive, and don't talk about him in the negative. Great job!

A wonderful look into the absurdities of this trial.

Aphrodite Jones does a wonderful job of taking you through the trial and highlighting all the evidence and testimony. Absolute must read. If only the whole world took the time to read this.

Read it before you judge MJ

A great sum-up of what happened on the Michael Jackson's trial in 2005. Some people still wonder why he was acquitted of all charges - this book will give you the answer. I think, before having an opinion about whether MJ did anything inappropriate or not, one should learn the facts. The best thing is to read trial transcripts (they are openly available), but they are very long. The second best thing is this book. A must read for every fan, and recommended to everyone who wants to know the truth about Michael.

A brave, excellent, important read.

What I learned from this book? Though I have always held firm to my belief that Michael Jackson was innocent of the disgusting accusations (both in 1993 and in 2005), this book laid it all out for me in plain ink. What a gross misuse of California taxpayers' money this trial was, and I commend Tom Mesereau for his fantastic job as the head of Michael's defense team. This book needs to be read by anyone who was ever swayed by the media's misrepresentation of Jackson and the trial, by anyone who had painted him as a sick child molester. What he really was was a good man who had a deep concern for the well being of children. The Arvizos sought him out and because of Jackson's good heart, he helped them in any way possible, including helping out with Gavin's cancer treatments. If you are still unsure of what to think of Jackson himself, please strongly consider the testimonies of Macauley Culkin, Wade Robson, Jay Leno, and Chris Tucker. These people laid it all on the line and told it like it really was- something the media never did. This is a very important book and it needs to be taken seriously. Congratulations and my heartfelt thanks go to Aphrodite Jones for writing this book - she took a chance and wrote something that was pro-Jackson in an era when that was simply not done.

Worth reading

All those MJ haters should have a read of this book to cure their ignorance. Its unbelievable there are all these money hungry people who have no conscience whatever - willing to destroy MJ's good name and reputation bcos they found him to be an easy target to try and extort money from . All bcos MJ exhibit a good and generous heart and soul that people take advantage of his goodness. My heart bleeds for MJ when I read this especially he had to sit thru the trial and hear thos idiotic Arvizo family saying all unkind and bad things abt him after all that he has given them .These Arvizo family should be hunted down and exterminated .All MJ had done was to shower them with love and a luxurious lifestyle that they owise would never have the oppurtunity to come anywhere close . That family is EVIL and I don't know where is the American Justice to allow this people to go scott free and MJ's reputation completely in shreds even though the jury found him not guilty. The damage has been done and it hurt MJ like hell . It certainly hurt me - I wish I had a gun -would have shot all those evil people dead. this book is worth reading as it also throws light on the Chandler case - throw those allegations out the window as well.It s based on facts and the actual trial not media garbage

"Michael floated out of the courtroom, as if he were on air, and would soon be gone, like a puff of smoke"

Excellent book, tells the truth based on court transcripts. Makes you realize how easily people can be manipulated by the media, on many issues besides Michael Jackson. It's too bad people who say such nasty things about Michael can't bother to learn the truth. I had my doubts about his complete innocence before reading the book, but seeing what an easy target he was and how trusting he was of associates, I see how completely he was abused by those who surrounded him. RIP Michael.

Michael Jackson Conspiracy

If you really want to know what went on in the 2004 molestation trial of MJ, this is the book for you. The reading is easy and fast moving. I was glad to see there wasn't a lot of legal terminology. I plan to donate my MJ books to the local library after I've read them. It is a way to get out that he was innocent and that his kind of entertainment talent only happens once. I am a new fan; post MJ's death. To keep his legacy alive we need to spread the word. I'd like to see a book dedicated soley to MJ's humanitarian deeds. He was such a loving and caring person.

The Truth At Long Last

This is a fascinating and, at times, heartbreaking read. The Michael Jackson trial fiasco was the perfect storm of prosecutorial over-reach and ambition, lawyer greed, a family of con artists and the news media's latest trend towards ignoring fact in favor of the salacious. It is a wonder that Michael Jackson survived the ordeal.

A compelling read.

Aphrodite Jones has written a revealing and thought provoking book covering in depth the 2005 trial The people vs. Michael Jackson. It exposes the irresponsibility of media coverage of the trial, the true colours of the unscrupulous lowlife journalist Martin Bashir, an insight into the private world of Michael Jackson in the 2000s and the true price that his superstardom cost him. It's the kind of book you can't put down. Although at times the book shines favorably on the side of defense, the book appears to be faithful to the events of the trial. It presents the prosecutor's evidence was based on weak testimonies of non credible witnesses and it was obvious that the case was a witch hunt and . The book stands as a well written, authorative document on the trial and will no doubt will be appreciated by Michael Jackson's fans and anyone who wanted to know the whole truth behind the allegations.

Good read

Cried nonstop reading this. I'll never u understand how people were so quick to jump to conclusions and stay there refusing to see the truth. A wonderfully written book that sheds light on the type of composure Michael truly possessed

I loved this book and that she spoke the TRUTH while ...

I loved this book and that she spoke the TRUTH while the rest of the lying media moved on as if they had done nothing wrong. Turn off the news folks, you only hear what they want you to hear and it's often far from the truth. Michael Jackson deserved so much better than this... Greed and envu bring out the ugly side of human nature. Great read!

A travesty of the greatest magnitude

I have almost finished this book. It is very well written and researched and entirely taken from the court transcripts, evidence and documents. It is a TRAVESTY what happened to Michael Jackson. No person should endure what he did. This book explains it all. The world needs to wake up and realise how they were lied to and manipulated by the media into believing he was a child molester. The man was the furthest thing from this that anyone could possibly be. The media had BIG money resting on him being found guilty. When he wasn't they slunk away without any apology or explanation as to what really happened and continued to perpetuate the LIE to the public that he was a pedophile. Those people should hang their head in shame. WAKE UP.....we are being lied to and manipulated ALL the time by the media for their own selfish, greedy purposes and Michael Jackson, a gifted and talented singer, dancer, song writer and Director was a casualty of their agenda. Michael Jackson endured this public slaughtering with courage, grace, dignity and strength as you would expect. I recommend everyone who wants to learn about the truth of what really happened to Michael Jackson read this book. It will open your eyes to alot of things. Perhaps he will be back to seek his revenge one day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Michael Jackson Conspiracy by Aphrodite Jones

I recommend this book to everyone! It is truly an honest look at what went on in the courtroom during the trial of MJ in 2005, what was said and how all the involved parties acted, from the attorneys to the witnesses, to judge and jury. As Ms. Jones stated, if you really want to know what actually occurred in the courtroom this is the book to read. I was very surprised over the facts brought out in the trial that the press who were allowed inside the courtroom chose not to inform the public of. I feel Ms. Jones, as one who originally felt that MJ was guilty, has done an excellent job in revealing the truth. After reading this book, you will in your heart know for certain that MJ was not, and is not, a pedophile; that he was and is not guilty on all counts!!! God bless you Ms. Jones!

A Good Account of the Trial but...

I enjoyed reading something that didn't have scummy and sordid opinions about Michael. At least she seemed to believe after researching the truth that he was a good and decent person and brought out how he was purposely crucified in the media. It certainly gives insight about his accusers. I don't however understand her recommendation of another author's book, who has been stated as getting his stories from questionable contacts. It was also said he felt Michael did not do enough for him. Could A. Jones not resist her previous behavior of bashing Michael by recommending his book or was she somehow indebted to this author? It was established that publishers would not publish anything that was positive about MJ. So I don't think his book would be trustworthy. I guess we MJ fans have to be thankful there is something out there that isn't full of trash and I thank her for that.

Michael Jackson conspiracy by Aphrodite Jones

Basically, I just read this since the death of Mr. Michael Jackson, I hadn't heard of it before then. It is worth every penny and reads well. I can appreciate the fact that the author wasn't a believer in the innocense of Mr. Jackson as a reporter herself. During the trial she realized that there was a conspiracy going on of Mr. Jackson. She had the courage to write about him at a time when NO ONE would touch him even though he was FOUND unquestionably INNOCENT!!!! That in itself is a TRAGEDY! I appreciate her for writing this book and thank her. He needed people to know what actually happened in the court room and she does a great job at writing that for all to read so go ahead and pick up a copy for yourselves and others. I try to encourage many people to get this book if they want to know what happened during this time in Mr. Jackson's life. Although, it isn't everything it is enough. Highly recommended! Enjoy!

Let the truth be told.

I have been following Michael Jackson my entire life. This book just proves what already believe. That there is absolutely no way that he could ever harm a child. Those whom are still trying to say he did this, are only after the one thing he couldn't take up to Heaven with him, his money.

A must-read for the truth about Michael Jackson

If you want to sift through the garbage and read an accurate and truthful account of the 2004-2005 Michael Jackson trial, this is a must-read. Aphrodite Jones, a reporter who covered the trial, is a gifted writer who paints a fascinating picture of what it was like in the courtroom. Don't confuse this book with some of the tabloid-type books about Michael being sold. Do yourself a favor and become well-informed of the truth by buying this book.

Michael Jackson's Trial by Fire...and media.

Excellent accounting of Michael's trial...and all the hoopla that surrounded it. Aphrodite Jones has been very honest about her former role in the media-driven persecution of this wonderful human being. And she owned it..and then has written about all. An excellent read...by all accounts.

Accurate information

Out of all the MJ books I've read, this is the best documented. If you know the details of the trial you know MJ went through hell.. this book shows his side of the experience. The interviews with the other parties are documented as well.. and honestly, I became angry when reading their words because it's not factual. We all know it was garbage and they just wanted money. Read it.. you won't be disappointed!

Captivating

I had never looked into the "MJ conspiracy." I, like many others, accepted what the media was dishing out without much thought. I foolishly made up my mind and condemned a man without hearing any evidence to the contrary. I decided to read this book just to see if there was anything new -- still assuming that he was a sick pedophile. This book certainly made me rethink my prior judgement. I honestly don't know what kind of person Michael was. I do know that because this book was well-written, composed, and factual I no longer presume to know that he was a pervert. It saddens me to think that all of the BS (some covered in this book, some in others that I've recently read) shortened a gifted life, robbing three children of their father and the entire world of his spirit. If you're curious about the trial...what WASN'T covered, this is a good place to start!

Five stars, indeed.

I greatly admire Ms. Jones for her courage as a journalist in this instance, and even wrote her to tell her so. In addition to presenting the truth and damn the torpedoes, the book is a real page-turner (particularly if you love courtroom procedurals, as I do). Highly recommended. If you still have a scrap of doubt about Michael's innocence, it will be gone once you read Conspiracy.

Michael Jackson Conspiracy

Aphrodite Jones truly redeemed herself in my eyes by exposing the "truths" contained in this book. There is absolutely No denying the injustices done to Michael Jackson, although there's no denying in his naivety, in many instances, he unwittingly brought it on himself.

Let the truth be told

For those of us who were sickened by the media treatment of Michael during the past decade, and specifically in the 2005 trial, this book confirms what we already knew in our hearts. Thankfully someone finally had the guts to let the truth out. Gee, what a concept. After gaining an understanding of what Michael was put through during this trial it is no wonder the poor man left the country. This is an excellent reporting of the FACTS. It reaffirms that Michael was nothing other than a wonderful human being who was made to suffer at the hands of bloodthirsty "journalists" who wanted nothing more than to tear him down, and make money of it to boot. This is a must read for anyone who values TRUTH.

Michael Jackson Conspiracy

I really enjoyed this book. It truly made me understand how abused Michael was by so many people. Michael tried to help so many people. Michael put so much time, money and love in trying to help the accusers family. It seemed like everyone had their hand out for his cash. The jury was very perceptive in reaching their verdict. I found it disgusting that two months after the trial, two jury members wanted to capitalize on their jury experience and wanted to reverse the verdict in the public eyes. I couldn't believe that two jury members also wanted to profit from Michael's horrible ordeal and at the same time make a sham of the jury that they were part of. Get the book, I read most of it in a day and it certainly keeps one entertained for such a small price. The pictures in the book remind me of how much I enjoy my clutter as well. When I saw all of Michael's collections in the photos, I had to laugh at myself. I have a hugh collection of depression glass. I thought everyone was admiring it when they came into my home, until a friend suggested that I really should buy "matching" dishes. You can see that Michael really didn't care so much about a "showroom" home as much as he cared about surrounding himself with collections that brought a little happiness in his life. I would have loved to laugh with him about our "collections" of stuff.

Michael J Jackson - Not Guilty

First, let me start by saying that I have had the experience of being part of a jury trail where I was a Juror in a court room listening to a case and then voting on the outcome of the case. A few years later I had the experience of being a part of a Grand Jury where we worked "behind" the scenes to determine if there was enough evidence to send a case to trail. Lastly, I chose to take the time to sit in a court room to listen to a case where the death penalty was on the table for the person that was being accused of, "setting a house on fire that caused the death of four (4) children ages 2 yrs. to 8 yrs. old, their mother and the grandmother. My point is this, this book is as close as you can get to actually being in the courtroom each day to see and hear for yourself what took place during the trail. We all already know what the media/news reporters had to say which was not about the FACTS = TRUTH. This is a book that was difficult to put down. After reading some chapters, I felt so overwhelmed, that I had to close the book and take a break to clear my head and recollect myself. I can't even imagine what MJ and his family must have felt day after day of actually LIVING through the trail. Throughout the book I kept asking myself, "Who is this Tom Messereau?" He was/is an awesome attorney. I loved the way he carried himself, stayed focused, kept MJ focused, VERY detail oriented, always stayed with the FACTS and not the imagine of his client (MJ) or who ever was on the witness stand that he had to question. Before closing, "No, I have never believed that MJ was ever guilty of being a child abuser in any way." I feel that he was to trusting, to soon, with everyone. Kindness is often taken as a weakness and that kindness can easily make that person the victim. It's fine to show kindness to peaple, but there should also be some boundries set. This book was worth every penny, thanks Ms. A. Jones

The best book I've ever read about the trial and it's ...

The best book I've ever read about the trial and it's all very comprehensible. They tell you exactly what went on inside the courtroom and how the accusers made themselves totally uncredible. Nobody who reads this book will think Michael Jackson was guilty I promise you that, cause he wasn't and it's insanely obvious if one studies the trial.

The Good in Michael is Finally Realized!!

I love the Michael Jackson Conspiracy Book by Aphrodite Jones; Someone finally had to come forward to let people know about what a travesty it was against Michael and he's the real victim here. I'm so glad the author shows what really transpired about the people who were so greedy in his life. It needed to be written; there is too much negativity about this warm, giving, loving, kind and gentle musical genius. The truth is finally here! I'm so glad Ms. Jones had the insight and the courage to write this book - I would recommend to any Michael fan, and non-fans would be enlightened too! Thank you. Kathryn

Excellent

I liked this book it examines the Michael Jackson Trial of 2005 and it really brings out the truth in what happened. This author is someone who went against the rest. She spoke out on what the really saw happening in the court room. This is an excellent account of what really happened.

MJ is innocent

This book has a lot of the trail information I wanted... everyone should read the Truth!!

Finally The Truth From Someone In The Courtroom!

Aphrodite Jones writes an amazing book full of actual facts and eye witness accounts of the Michael Jackson trial. She was in the courtroom every day and knows what she is talking about. I like the way she used actual transcripts and facts to detail what was one of the worse witch hunts in American history. Definitely a good purchase to make.

Michael Jackson Conspiracy by Aphrodite Jones

Great information. As much as I love MJ, the trial made me wonder if he was guilty. They tried to hit him in the his achilles heel -- he loved all children and donated his time and a lot of money to them--more than anyone else has ever done. The charges were absurd and even though he was acquitted of all charges, that doubt remained with so many people. I saw one sign when he died that made me cry, it said "Please forgive us Michael" -- I hope he can.

I can't believe I fell into the tabloid trap!

Let me start by saying I was one of the boneheads, who though Michael Jackson was guilty as sin and that a sleek lawyer got him off. It goes without saying that I had not bothered to read anything on Michael Jackson through the years, being only familiar with 10 or so of his old songs. I live in Denmark and MJ was not tabloid news all the time, as I suspect was/is the case in the US. So the day MJ died - the TV/radio and newspapers were filled with the sad news and, of course, a lot about his rise to fame - his charity works - the lot. I was completely mystified - Michael Jackson visiting children's wards in hospitals, orphanages around the globe, when on tour, expressing an almost unheard of love and caring for children - and most certainly disadvantaged children. Not exactly a blue-copy of a child-molester. I began to read all I could get my hands on about Michael Jackson - and I cannot believe the way the tabloid press have distorted facts, offering one-sided malicious snippets. And how I took it in hook-line and sinker. Although I had a strongfeeling of being very wrong about my off-hand judgement about MJ before buying this book - after reading it- I know I was WRONG. First of all the author is a woman, who also had Michael Jackson pinned down as guilty, and had a genuine change of heart. She takes you into the court-room and presents you with a - in my oppinion - well-written and almost suspensefilled horror of a case. Many before me have given a very good review of what the book is about - so I will abstain from that. I will say, that if you are, like I were, influenced by the tabloid press, you will feel disgusted by the way the facts were left out or turned around. If the book were fiction - you would put it down and think the plot was so outrageous and utterly impossible to believe, that reading it was almost a vaste of time! Star Wars seems more possible. A family, who literally was smothered in love help and financial aid, dragged their benefactor to court and lied through their teeth with the most outrageous tales. That it ever ended up in court is ridiculous!!! The evil ungratefulness (if there is such a word) that all of them displayed makes you furious - along with their blatant lies. The most infuriating is that the press never reported this, as I understand it. Filled to the brim with evidence of lies and evil schemes and ungrateful attitudes, you are left with a feeling that the Arvizoes honestly believed that the world owed them an easy living, without question and without thanks being offered. A small thing is the mother's complaint that they felt "trapped and bored" during a stay in a 5-star-hotel's luxury suite, spent in Michael Jackson's company!!! I can't imagine how many millions of fans through-out the world would peel off 30 years of their life-expectancy to be "trapped" in a hotel-room with Michael Jackson. If you have an iota of decency in your body you will have a hard time believing the Arvizoes are for real. If indecency and ungratefulness and evil intentions were criminal offenses - the entire family would be on death row right now! Read it - and get the facts straight. And when you are done pick up "redemption" by Geraldine Hughes about the Chandler Plot. Michael Jackson is moonwalking in Heaven, but for his family and children especially his legacy should be put right up on the pedestal, where it belongs.

Aphrodit Jones Clears the Air

Michael Jackson Conspiracy by Aphrodite Jones will answer your questions as to what was actually going on the court room during the 2003 allegations against Michael Jackson. Ms. Jones will give you the untarnished truth on how the American media and persons unknown conspired to bring down the greatest Humanatarian of our life span. She brings the light to all of the lies that were meant to destroy the greatest talent there has ever been. Michael Jackson is and will remain a beloved individual in the hearts of all of his millions of fans and Ms. Jones shows you some of the reasons we love Michael Joseph Jackson so strongly.

Haters need to read this

It was always my opinion that mj didn't do anything wrong. I didn't know the man personally but I don't think he would hurt a fly. Every hater who insists this lovely spirit was guilty should read this. Fantastic and interesting read...rip MJ

An interesting and surprising perspective on the 2005 trial of MJ

This book really takes you carefully through the details of MJ's trial, and makes a convincing argument about why he was acquitted. It's definitely worth reading, and certainly persuaded me to think more carefully about the media, their motivations and how it might affect my views. I really liked thinking over these allegations carefully, and find myself wondering if there is much that I do not know and understand about Michael Jackson's life. I can recommend it to anyone who prefers to take their time to review carefully and study all facts and perspectives about this case. It is certainly fascinating.

I was never a fan and generally disliked him. After reading I needed to readjust my opinion. I fell into the same trap as the media. This is embarrassing since I tend to be a media cynic. The book provided a much different picture than what I believed! I apologize Michael.

I always believed in Michael and still love him and am always interested in the details of ...

I appreciate the author showing both sides. I always believed in Michael and still love him and am always interested in the details of his life. This book is specifically about the trial, so if you like Court TV you will like this.

totally amazing, based on tons of facts

This book is dramatic, yet based on tons of facts about what happened during the Jackson trial. Thanks God someone can devote and write such a book. It'll become part of the history. The book will take you to different scenes around Michael Jackson's life backed up by so many many facts, witnesses. Thanks God that Michael has a lawyer with integrity, thanks god that the jurors made the right decision. Someday there shall be a movie to document Michael Jackson's brilliant life and brilliant contributions to the world.

Get to know the Man inside the music

I loved Michael Jackson's music, but I was really iffy about the man himself. I am so glad that I purchased this book and read it. It really gives me another side of Michael that I don't think most people realize.

A Must Read!

I never believed any of those allegations against Michael Jackson and this book confirmed my belief. What is really shocking to me is the fact not just tabloids, but even the mainstream media distorted the facts and simply refused to tell the public the truth. It really made me sick to my stomach how people would do anything for money and good ratings. I will never forgive what these people did to Michael Jackson. Everyone should read this book.

MJ Conspiracy

If you want to know the facts about the 2005 MJ trial that you didn't hear in mainstream media, read this book. I am glad Ms Jones was driven to do the right thing and educate us with many facts the jurors heard that didn't make it to the nightly news. I am guessing this is not a popular seller, most Americans believe the MJ trial was yet another example of a failed justice system. Of coarse MJ was guilty, right? I challenge you to give the book a try. You may be surprised!

Michael Jackson Conspiracy

This book clears all the stupid ennuendo's and lies printed and spoken about Michael if you want to know the truth and inside story of the trouble Michael Jackson had to endure then this book is a unjaded observation of the world of Michael Jackson!!!Kudo's to Aphrodite for the courage to reverse her once biased comments and commentary on the gentle soul that was Michael Jackson!!!!

Review Michael Jackson conspiracy

I really enjoyed this book. It is well written, as a fan I found it very interesting I thank Aphrodite Jones for writing it and for his positive view showing the unfair treatment of Media rejecting objetivity in the news only centred in gossip, negative point of view about Michael Jackson during the trial in order destroy and humiliate him, in spite of being absolved of every charge by popular jury and the judicial system. It is a pity this book was not in Spain translated. I like a lot to have it. Thanks!

Very good and serious book

It was good to read a serious book about Michael Jackson, one who has really used the sources and found out about what really happende in the court case in 2005. Aphrodite Jones writes very well and seems to be honest and really wanting to find the truth. That is so good after all the rumours and tabloid junk you can read about this poor man. I was relieved and happy to read it and I will recomend it both to fans and to people who are open to find more out about this wonderful singer, dancer and humanitarian.

Five Stars

I've been trying to find a book that lays out all the facts and here it is.

Michael is INNOCENT

This book is important because it is an evidence of the innocence of Michael Jackson. Also, has the participation of Thomas Mesereau, the lawyer who defended excellent Michael Jackson. Thomas Mesereau is a brilliant lawyer. Aphrodite Jones is a professional with experience, competence and credibility. This book is the most complete account of the innocence of Michael Jackson. I recommend this book to all people who want to know the real Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson is a great humanitarian. Michael Jackson was NEVER pedophile.

This Book will share the insight to the actual trial and transcripts!

Mrs Jones, was once one of the most hated journalists in the Michael Jackson Case. She had him guilty before he even got a chance, but I respect her a lot, because it took so much to admit she was wrong and stand up for the truth. If you ever want to know both sides of the courtroom instead of the biased media output this is a must read! So look over all the opinionated books, and get this one, you won't be disappointed!

Absolutely fantastic!

This is the book to read if you want to know what really happened in the trial. Aphrodite Jones uses real court transcripts in this amazing and 100% true book. i will thank Aphrodite Jones so much for writing this book and Tom Mesereau whom i have great respect for. as you read it you will also see how the great Michael Jackson became the victim of a money greedy family and a slandering media but in the end justice was served. May God bless you Michael Jackson, Aphrodite Jones, Thomas Mesereau and all the other people who always believed in MJ's innocence.

It's a must read!

I admire the author's courage. Most people are misleaded by the media. Few people know that all the allegations and accusations against Michael Jackson are not true. As it turned out, Mr. Jackson was a noble and caring man. But I also regret reading this book too late. Our misunderstanding towards MJ is one of the reason why he died so early. I hope this book can be translated into as many languages as possible. MJ's fans in Taiwan are donating this book(the Chinese Version) to libraries, hoping that more people know the truth. It's a must read!

A fine book on Michael Jackson

Expertly written and hard to put down! This is a must read wether you felt he was guilty or wether you felt he was innocent. This is a classic case of extortion and a jealous prosecutor. This book is truly a must read!

A Kind and Gentle Man

It's about time that someone finally portrayed Michael Jackson as he deserved to be - a kind, gentle and generous man. I have read Ms. Jones' other books, and am truly thankful to her for going forward with this project, even though she had to publish it herself! The book shows Michael's goodness, but, just as important, reveals the depths to which people like Martin Beshears will go to "get ahead."

Where's the editor?

The book itself was great. But do be warned that this is written for the most diehard Michael Jackson fan, instead of those that would like a more neutral telling of the trial. It is very defense (MJ) sympathetic. The reason why I don't give it a higher rating is that the Kindle version's editing is terrible. Parts of sentences are missing, some are broken up to make new paragraphs, and half the photos were missing. This needs to be fixed to make it a better read.

Great book. I had to read it twice

Great book. I had to read it twice. The info that was hidden from the public was astounding. If you are not a Michael jackson fan this book should open you eyes wide shut!!!

finally the truth

It is wonderful that this is in print to reveal how michael jackson was hounded and harrassed all his life in one form or another. The shame of it is that not one media person stood with him thru all his difficulties, they all sort of stood afar off even if they believed in him because of public opinion. Im sorry he was not able to see in life how much he truly meant to people becuause of the wrong people blocking his view and that so much of his goodness was shown after his death instead of while he was alive.Rest in peace michael, you so very deserve it.

Should be required for all journalists.

Best book to learn the truth regarding the 2005 extortion. Should be a required curriculum text for journalists and journalistic ethics.

Glad I waited!

I just want to say that I have wanted to buy this book for a long long time! I am so glad I held off on buying it for a few hundred dollars! The Paperback is just as good as the Hardcover!!! :)

I started this book and realized that it wasn't really ...

I started this book and realized that it wasn't really very interesting. I will go back if I have nothing else to read.

Eye opening !

Learned many things I did not know about this case and MJ's many challenges .

MJ Book

Great condition thank you

Fans and Doubters-Great Read

This book will make any doubters understand why MJ was found not guilty. This book takes an in-deepth look into the 2005 trail and how horrible the media is these days. The media likes to build people up and then crush them. They only report what will sell not the truth or what is. They report only the negative what if's. This book was quite the eye-opener regarding the media and how easy it is for them to manipulate the public. After reading this book, I felt even more compassion for MJ and how everyone around him wanted him for his money. Great read!

Five Stars

This is another book I purchased for my friend on their birthday.

Truth about Michael Jackson and the Trial

This book is excellent and was written by someone who not only attended the trial of Michael Jackson but was there the entire time, and she tells the truth about Michael Jackson and proves he was innocent on all charges and with both cases. This is the truth because Aphrodite attended the entire trial; it is NOT sensationalistic tabloid lies, as most of the books are.

The Truth

Ok, I suggest if you want to know the truth about Michael Jackson BUY THIS BOOK!! Once I opened that book I could not close it. I am currently re reading it to soak in the details and get time lines straight. This book definitely opened my eyes to whole DIFFERENT world. From what I remember all they played on television and magazines was how guilty he was and they reeeeally uplayed the prosecution team, who were complete IDIOTS..each and every one of them, and everyone in the court room knew it. While I'm reading this book I really wanted to get into it a little more...so I am reading the court transcripts online and OMG low and behold yes even the court transcripts make the everyone on the prosecution look like greedy crackpots! You would have never known from watching tv or reading magazines. I can't believe how the media was towards him! It really breaks my heart for Michael...Just read this book and you will see...Thank You Aphrodite Jones.

Glad I read this !

Although I always believed in MJ's innocence from day one on my own, this book gave me a greater perspective on the trial itself & of how con artists ppl play on the innocence of trusting ppl like Michael Jackson, an truly amazing artist, entertainer, musician & by far the great King Of Pop. I truly believe the stress of the trial & the enigma's constantly hounding him for money & the America ppl mainly the U.S. & the media for never sticking by his side when he needed them the most by their bias opinions hoping he would be found guilty even before the trial started. The evidence that was so called by the prosecution was laughable. I truly believe MJ would still be alive today if he last couple years wouldn't have been so devastating for him. RIP MICHAEL JACKSON, we miss u & luv u 💕 . And u will always be in my heart 😢💓

books

she was at least paying attention to the crap that was being done to Michael...she does not understand Mike way of thinking

very informative book

I have read several books regarding michael, I do hope everyone buys this book, so well written and seems to be a fair outlook on the trial. He sure didn't deserve all that has happened in his lifetime. He will always be remembered, to not just an entertainer, but as a good man.Shame on the media!Great job to the author and his lawyer, who has always stuck by hom, well written!

Three Stars

Good read

ms. jones is an excellent crime writer!

She takes you right into the courtroom day by day as if you're watching tom sneddon and tom mesereau cross-examining people on the stand. She also shows michael as a very giving person going thru the most difficult obstacle of his life. In no way is she disrepectful and in my opinion, provides a fair and balanced synopsis of the michael jackson trial. I'm absolutely baffled at the disinterest by many of our u.s. media personalities like oprah and montel not giving ms. jones the opportunity to show the OTHER side. The side of michael jackson whose not a child molestor and as a decent person. She reveals many things not told to the american public regarding the neverland raids, the arvisos, the prosecutions mishandling of this case (inflammatory comments by sneddon given to media outlets), etc. I highly recommend this book not just to fans, but ANYONE that wants to know more about the case and esp. the TRUTHFUL way michael jackson was being mistreated. Both as a defendant and also as human being.

Four Stars

Satisfied with purchase and delivery

Excellent book! Finally the TRUTH about the innocent man

Excellent book! Finally the TRUTH about the innocent man, Michael Jackson, that the mainstream media did not want the public to know.

having finished reading this book but so far its pretty good.

Very good.

Appreciate seeing things on the other side. The real side. Very well documented.

Amazon, where is the book???

What the hell! Is this book out of print? I want it, but people are privately selling it for ridiculous prices. Amazon, please replenish this book. I want to read it desperately.

Micheal Jackson Conspiracy

If you read just this book on the trial of Michael Jackson you will need to go no farther. Kuddos to Ms Jones for standing up to the plate and telling the whole story of went on inside the courtroom from the court transcripts and not the hand feed version the news media wanted you to know. It explains the not guilty verdicts on all counts.

A must have

Great book, needs to be read by all and especially media people, very insiteful about the trial.

very interesting

Very enlightening to read the side of the story other than that of the media frenzy of the day. Instill an ongoing distrust of what the media reports.

If you want the facts, this is where you start.

The most factual book out there about the MJ trial.

Behind the trial

Absolutely fasinating reading. So great someone took her time to go behind the trial and to tell what really went on.

;conspiracy

I always thought there was more to some of the gossip. thanks for writing this as it does bring a lot of light to the real jackson. Thanks

A Must Read

Mesmerizing account of the trial; Tom Mesereau is a genius and the media really mislead the public. Let this be a lesson to all of us, not to buy into the media's portrayal of anything. What a shame such an occurrence was allowed to scar an innocent man's soul. RIP Michael, you are so loved.

FINALLY unbiased reporting!

Anyone who is anyone should read this book! It clearly describes all the details that were left out of the popular news media during the trial of Michael Jackson. It also shows how people conspire together for their own profit, even if it means destroying someone else. So many people stood to make so much money if this man had been convicted, so they convicted him in the court of public oopinion. As a nation, we have become obsessed with celebrity gossip and propaganda, and more and more that is what is being reported, NOT THE FACTS! What happened to true journalism, showing all the necessary information so that we could decide for ourselves? I for one find it offensive, it is as if they are saying that the general public are not intelligent enough to decide for themselves, and that we are dumb enough to believe whatever they tell us! Also, with this trial the media is publicly implying that they feel our justice system FAILED! If you believe that, why wouldnt you fight to do something about it? If I truly believed that a jury was wrong, or paid off, or had some benefit in making a certian decision, I would call it a mistrial! Aphrodite, who was once reporting negative news during the trial, has seen the error of her ways. She reviewed all the court transcripts and documents and realized she was wrong. In this book she gives all the facts you never heard anywhere else. No one even wanted to publish it because they said people would only read smut, not something like this that was to the point and fair. Which, led her to publish it all on her own. She felt it was important that people hear all the facts, not only the smut that they have heard a million times. She took the high road and didnt even mention the many things such as race that others had previously mentioned. I think if you are interested in facts and true journalism, this book is for you. And if not, I think you should read it to prepare and protect yourself from the world we really live in where greed, money and lies are often in control! If it can happen to him, it can happen to anyone!

Michael Jackson Conspiracy by Aphrodite Jones

This book was very good. Very fair, but I never believed how the media portraited Michael Jackson in the first place. More people should read this book for the truth.
