Willie Nelson and his sister, Bobbie, have written a book that really takes the reader right into the lap of their family. As with Willie's other book, "A Long Story", I was totally captivated by the story and them telling about their lives. They both clearly articulate the intricasies of the events in their lives, and the deep emotions they feel. They have both had incredibly full lives, which I think most people can relate to on many levels. I'm still blown away by everything that has happened in their lives. Simply amazing. And the music... oh my gosh...the music....This book shares Willie's and Bobbie's love from their hearts. It is an astounding and profoundly moving book.

I have to say I have a whole new appreciation for Willie Nelson. This book shows two people raised with love and faith. Some of the songs he wrote are my favorites. Bobbie is a inspiration to anyone who lives a life. Together they are a gift of love, faith, and the power of forgiveness.

I enjoyed reading and was moved by all the hardship and heartache Bobbie has endured. I related to so much and feel this is a truly honest account of a beautiful women and gifted musician. Hope I can be as strong at 90 as she still is. Love Willie too and his personal input added so much. Hope they both make it to at least 100. We need more folks like the Nelsons in this world today.

I am a fan of Wiilie Nelson and I have read some of his other books. After I saw Willie and Bobbie in concert I wondered about their history. This book answered those questions. I really enjoyed the flow of the writing. Good read. Well done.

Just an amazing story. Of all the beautiful gifts that Willie and Bobby have shared with us this may be the greatest. I want to read it all at one time but I am making myself just a few chapters at a time. I am 54 and have been a consummate fan for 40 + years. I am blessed! Thank you!!!!!

My first book by Willie and I was completely drawn in in just a few short pages. Alternating chapters from Willie and his sister Bobbie, I was blown away by the unfailing determination of this family and the long, hard path to get to where they are today. I was truly amazed, suffered right along with them and I wanted nothing more than to slowly take in every step of their journey. Hearing Willie talk about his sister and her musical talent made me just want to run out and listen to every song out there as clearly she has something I've been missing. Tragic stories, beautiful moments, and many, many moments of me shaking my head at Willie and all of his "wandering." (lol) Can't help but love the man anyway and thank god he's still sharing his beautiful and charismatic personality and music with us.

I've heard Willies music most of my life. He's always been there, not a favorite at the moment pop star but a favorite to listen to when I needed some comfort and memories. Willies songs tug at the memories. I finally got to see him live In March 2020 right before Covid shut the Houston Rodeo down. He sung from his heart, his sister on keyboard his son on vocals. It was a night I'll always remember. I never really knew much about the man except for his public charity works, and thought it was time to read up on him from his words and his sisters. Respect to these two for opening up about their life, the best, worst and middle ground times. A brief life story of a sister and a brother from their different views. Both open their hearts and let the pain and joys out, shared with the world. They have had some struggles, some heartbreaking soul crushing events and yet they still go on, still love, create and laugh.

With a family as well known as the Nelsons, Willie and Bobbie, you figure you know their life story. You might be surprised. While celebrities seldom live what is considered a "normal" life, these siblings learned at a very young age to depend only on each other and to expect life to give them nothing but grief. As each chapter gives the readers another look into their lifelong journey, the brother and sister team display a belief in a better future and a bond with each other that could not be broken. An absolutely engrossing and entertaining dual biography that will fascinate any country music fan but also any reader looking for uplifting stories of family and faith.

This book was not what I expected. I thought it would be detailing Willie's life events, but focused more on Bobbie's life. I liked reading about her life, but felt shortchanged I wanted more of her story. The same was true for Willie! Some chapters being extremely short. I loved the relationship showcased between the two siblings! I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review!

I've listened to so many of Willie's recordings during the past 9 months I feel his spirit. He has been such a blessing I can't explain it. Bobbie said love can't be explained. I can't explain the gift I have received from Willie's music. I can say thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me make it through these isolated times.

A pure love that endures through it all. I loved this book. Willie and Bobbie thre true relationship between a brother and a sister. God bless you both!

Beautifully written memoir. Such an interesting way of writing two stories intertwined. Amazing lives they lived. Bought on a whim and so very glad I did!!

I am only on chapter 35, yet I am amazed by how resourceful Willie and Bobbie were at such a young age. Bobbie was, and is a very talented, although not as well known musician who led a very real life in the tiny town of Abbot Texas. There are more tales that I never knew about the Nelson family, but am happy to listen to them, Great audiobook. Luke Holland

I never read this book. It was a gift for my mom who loves to read biographies of country music singers. She loved this book and learned some new things about Willie and his sister. A few days later she donated it to her small town public library...go figure! Well worth the price for her enjoyment though!

Good stories by Willie's sister and by Willie. I guess it is ok to call him by his first name. I don't really know him but I feel like I do after reading this book. His sister, Bobbie, adds a lot to Willie's story by telling her story. Love, forgiveness, family, music, good times and not so good times are all told in the book. It is an easy read. "Willie named his ranch Luck Ranch cause I liked to say, "When you're here, you're in Luck, and when you're not, you're out of Luck." "Half the crowd were hippies, half were rednecks, but all full-blooded music lovers."
