Mary's Mantle Consecration: Prayer Journal

I saw an interview with the author and purchased the book after that not realizing how much she promotes Medjugorje in the book. Even Pope Francis is skeptical about Medjugorje and it's bad discernment for lay and religious to promote these apparitions until the Church endorses them. While we've all heard stories of the good fruits and conversions that have resulted, there are also some very scary bad fruits and disobedience that are resulting. Watch Patrick Coffins podcast #147 The Medjugorje Deception—Dr. E. Michael Jones. I'm sorry for the poor review. I really wanted to love this book.

I enjoyed this companion journal more than the actual book that it's meant to go with ("Mary's Mantle Consecration"). I loved how I was invited to apply the daily virtue to my own life and journal my thoughts and prayers about it, which did a wonderful job of bringing the day's reading down to a practical level. The saints' quotes each day were beautiful and I also appreciated the scripture quote every day. To be honest, I wish I had simply bought this journal and not spent money buying the main book, which I ended up not using. Apart from the actual consecration prayer at the end, this journal could stand alone as the 46 Day Preparation, and then you could simply find your own consecration prayer. My only disappointment with this Consecration is that it actually has very little to do with the Blessed Virgin Mary. Seriously. The title is extremely misleading. The whole program is more of a Virtue Retreat than a Marian Retreat. Apart from the picture of Our Lady on the cover, there is not much about her at all. So if you're looking for a consecration focusing entirely on Mary, this isn't the one you want. She is hardly mentioned at all. But as a book about virtue, it's good. I just wish the title and advertising hadn't gotten my hopes up.

Most excellent faith journey. So much direction and knowledge about how to be more like Jesus. I am so empowered and grateful of learning about myself and how much Jesus loves me, that I am repeating the consecration again to stay evermore faithful and devoted to the Trinity. Absolutely, everyone must have the faithful Blessed Mother walking with them and allowing her to teach each of us about Her son—the Christ. What a privilege! Who else would you take with you? Jesus gave her to us, so why say “no”. Being with Our Lady does NOT take anything away from Christ. Jesus is much bigger than that...besides he was obedient to Mary. Shouldn’t we be too!?

I purchased the consecration for me and 3 of my friends. I prayed the night before asking Mary when I should start the consecration. I opened the book and saw the next day was August 1st and the consecration would fall on the feast of Our lady of sorrows. My friend Judi and I began the next day. I can tell you we truly were moved to tears of joy through this consecration. It was just what our aching hearts needed at this time. My friend Rita and her husband began later, but Rita called me and told me how moved she and her husband have been through this consecration. It was truly a blessing. I wish everyone would do this consecration. My only regret is that I did not do it sooner!

The workbook has brought deep thought and peace to my life. The spiritual exercises are well written and moved me deeply into calming my soul, to seek the virtues of the Holy Spirit and most importantly how the gifts pertain to our everyday life. A great book to use at Adoration Chapel. Our Father has blessed us with The Blessed Virgin Mary.

This book is life changing! I can’t wait to do this Consecration again and again because it is rich in spiritual depth, healing and above all, drawing closer to Jesus through Our Heavenly Mothers prayers and guidance. I am so grateful for this book and I will share it’s beauty with many, that they may have the same result. Thank you Christine Watkins for putting this together!

I have read several books that are for preparation for Consecration through Mary, and this is definitely the most user friendly! I purchased the book, along with this prayer journal, and find they worked well together, additionally, I journaled in a separate journal, so I could review or reread prayers, etc., and found each chapter very helpful, well written, and simple! Beautiful! If you haven't made a consecration (to Jesus) through Mary, like St. Louie Marie de Montfort's, I highly recommend doing so! 33 Days to Morning Glory is a 33 Day Prep book, by Fr. M. Gaitley, it is also very good! the Consecration will change your life!

Loved journaling after reading meditations from Mary's Mantle Consecration. As you journal you expand on what the meditation teaches you and it becomes inspirational as you feel the Holy Spirit guiding you.

Teens and adults are doing this book set. Easy to read, use, thought provoking, and helpful in getting to know or rekindle a friendship with the Holy Spirit.... Confirmation prepping.

The preparation is clearly explained, if you read from the beginning. At first I thought to go straight to 1st day, and skip all stuff in the beginning, but then I read it from the beginning anyway, and very glad, because there are important clarifications on how to when one person, family, or group.

I love the easiness of following the steps towards the Consecration to the Blessed Mother. Each daily step is filled with a word of reflection. It causes one to pause before meditation of the Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

I like the journal even more than the book because it helps you go deeper and enter into prayer and conversation with God. Also helps to really analyze where growth or change is needed with the virtues. Would highly recommend!

Our family used this book and prayer journal as a guide to consecrate ourselves to Mary. It was beautifully written. Most days we were in awe with how it lined up with what is happening in the world. We are forever grateful for this consecration!!

This prayer guide was an excellent addition to the Mary's Mantle Consecration process. I will use it again and again as I try to grow spiritually. There were miracles involved in God's answer to prayer during the Consecration process, a friend's marriage, reconciliation with a grown son, and a granddaughter's healing. Highly recommended to all!

I have never before found a prayer journal so deep and insightful that it changed the way I live and think. I now live my life for the Lord, and my soul has been blessed with more joy and peace. One receives from this prayer journal what one puts into it, and I received untold blessings, such as healing from a past, intractable wound of rejection, and a love of God, neighbor, and self that I didn't expect. I recommend that you pour our yourself into it, take to heart the readings from Scripture and the saints, and expect great things for yourself.
