Love Letter From God

I wanted something for Valentine's Day that talked about how God loves us. This does that, but not in the way I expected. It does start off with saying the child is perfect to God, God takes pleasure in them and their laughter, and they are a partial reflection of Him. But then the book changes to focus more on recognizing that God provides the place we live, the clothes on our backs, the food in our tummies, the planet to live on, friends to play with, etc. Yes God is the source of all these things, but I wanted a book to focus on His actual love and promises to individuals... like He loved us before we even were born, loves you so much he knows how many has are on your head, etc. Because of that, this book was not quite what I wanted. However, we did keep the book and my 2 year old likes it read to him. I also am impressed with some of the ways things are worded because it has a depth of insight and truth beyond what a toddler can understand. The images really engage my little one. We own a number of books that are of this similar vein - seeing how God loves us in the things He has provided. Out of all those books, this one is hands down our favorite.

Do you sometimes wonder why products have so many 5 star reviews? I mean, do people really "love" the product that much? I like a lot of things, but love them? Well, I LOVE this book. It is colorful and the illustrations are beautiful. Beautiful message written in a sweet rhyming way. Quality book made from a thin type of cardboard as the pages have cutouts of different shapes so you can see through to the next page (e.g. some of the hearts on the cover are actually cutouts.) Made me tear up when I first read it. Even my dad cried every time he read it when my kids were babies. "I love you my child what more can I say to me you are perfect in every way." I think I have most of the story memorized and so does my daughter. I won't quote the whole book. Just buy it for your kids or someone else's. Amazing book.

My daughter recieved this book as a baby, she is three now and it's still her favorite. The illustrations are beautiful, the cutouts make it very interesting and different and the words are biblically true and very encouraging. I love reading it to her knowing it's helping her to understand who she is in Christ and how much he loves her.

I adore this book! I give it to all my friends as a baby gift. My son and I read it together every night, he loves the vibrant pictures of children and animals and the cutouts in each page that he can poke his fingers through. Definitely written by someone who knows a child's heart! The pages are thick cardboard so they are study enough for a baby. This is a beautiful story about God's love full of theologically rich gospel truths presented at a child's level- which is a great beginning for my toddler and also a great reminder to me! I enjoy this book just as much as my son, those are truths I cannot hear enough! This is a treasure that I cherish. Thank you PK Hallinan for this beautiful story!

This is one of the sweetest books I have ever seen for a child. I want all of my grandchildren to have a copy!

I love love love this children’s book! I bought it for my God daughter. It’s very poetic and a good one to read before bed. The pictures are colorful and sweet and the pages are thick so little hands can’t rip them.

Very cute! I love that this book is a child-appropriate love letter from God. It's never too early to teach children that all they see and have is a gift from Him. I'm going to give it to my baby niece about to be born!

I read this book every night to my 10-month-old. Sometimes I read it twice or even three times. This is the only book that keeps her attention from start to finish! Plus, the message is wonderful!!! I have bought multiples of this book to give as gifts to new moms.

I adore this book. It is a favorite to give as a gift to the little friends and family members we have.

I bought copies for all the littles in my life, based on previous titles I own from this author. "A Love Letter From God" does not disappoint. In this book, the author tells some of the many ways we can relate to God through nature, and how we can know He cares for us. His word choices are rich and expressive, yet simple enough for beginning readers. The illustrations are bright, colorful, and packed with interesting detail. Even the lettering choices are fun! The sturdy pages include cutouts that go perfectly with the text and images, tying one page to the next by highlighting a detail from adjacent pages. The book is very well made, and sure to be a favorite that is passed along with love, or treasured for years.

I think this is an awesome story and great quality book. I received this as a gift and purchased several more copies to give to my friends as they have kids.

Have you ever wondered what a Love Letter from God would look like? My kids and I have often talked about what God might say to us if we could hear him speak. They ask why they can’t hear him, and I tell him that he speaks to us in different ways. I have tried explaining to them that just because we can’t hear his voice, that he still speaks to us we just have to listen with our hearts and minds instead of our ears. The author, P. K. Hallinan has written a beautiful rhyming story about a letter that God might write to us. Although geared toward younger children, anyone would love to read this book (I know I did). It reminds us that God is with us every day, surrounding us with his love. Right from the first page I was hooked. “I love you, My child! What more can I say? To Me you are perfect in every way!” Not only is this a love letter from God, it also says so many things I often want tell my children. The illustrator, Laura Watson has created comforting, happy images that express what the author is saying perfectly. I love how the text has a playful font that is sometimes flowing, sometimes colourful but always easy to read. There are cute little cut-outs on each page that adds a visual interest to the page. As with his other books, the story is told in a simple rhyming style that is able to leave a profound message to children about who God is and the love He has for them. The same reassurances of God's love for us and the promises we cherish that He will never leave us are the theme of this story and one that a young child can easily understand. The easy to read prose, along with illustration by Laura Watson will make this book a favorite with your 3-8 year old. This is probably by far my favorite children’s book that I have gotten for my son this year. I absolutely love the message and how it’s presented in such a fun, bright way! The illustrations are very eye-catching and my soon to be three year old really enjoys looking for bugs/small creatures on every page. He also likes the children’s facial expressions and seeing what they are doing. At first he didn’t seem to care for the cut outs on each page, but as we have read it a few times now he likes to stick his finger through them. I would most definitely recommend this children’s book to other families. It really shows how much God loves and encourages us (I know I was certainly touched!) in a way that I want my son to know/understand. My children have asked what God thinks about them. In answering this question, I tell them that God speaks to us through his Word the Bible and if we take time to look around we can see His love continually surrounding us. To give my kids more of a visual and tangible example of this, I've turned to author P.K, Hallinan and illustrator Laura Watson's latest book A Love Letter From God. My son and daughter adore this book. They were drawn in right away by the colorful illustrations and the unique cutout designs of stars, flowers, circles, and hearts on each and every page. The nature scenes are comforting and beautifully done. There are boys and girls off all colors and race! There are also many insects and animals! My kids had fun pointing out something on every page. I can tell that careful thought went into creating this children's book, even certain words of the text is highlighted! The writing is lyrical and in rhyme making it flow well as it is being read. I think this book is wonderful. It's a good bedtime read or for when your kids may be having a hard day. This book to us is beautiful, encouraging, and comforting.
