Little Blue Truck's Christmas

TL;DR: shine your phone flashlight on the lights and they will activate. They do not light up in dark rooms. I never write amazon reviews but this one is really important. My friend sent this book for my toddler and he LOVES IT but the lights only worked like twice. It was a real bummer and a huge tragedy every time we got to the last page. So I ordered another one, opened it when it arrived, and hooray! The lights worked. We read it that night and the lights would not work, much to my son’s dismay. Tonight I was reading it again (we read it nearly every night) and my son said “awww, the lights don’t work.” I told him I was sorry about that, that even the new one doesn’t work anymore and sometimes that’s just how life works. Then my husband said over the monitor: “shine your phone flashlight on the lights.” I assumed this would provide an optical illusion, but did it anyway - and they lit up!! Every single time! They seem to have some sort of sensor that causes them to not activate if the room is too dark. So shine your phone flashlight on them and have a happy kiddo.

Great book series

My 2 1/2 year old son loves this book. I bought this book in September and I just gave this book to him yesterday as a prize from his potty chart. I wanted him to have it before Christmas so we would have plenty of time to read it. We have read it already 20 - 30 times and he loves it! He loves the twinkle lights at the back. This book is great for practicing counting (up to 5) and making animal noises. My son likes to count the trees and see how many trees are left in the truck after the truck makes a tree delivery. Other reviewers listed problems with batteries; as I stated we haven't had any issues and we had read the book a lot and that doesn't count the number of times my son is just opening and closing the book to see the lights. But the batteries for the book are 3 LR1130/AG10 which is a pretty common battery in kids books that make noise, have lights, etc. I have purchased a big pack of these batteries from Amazon probably 6 months ago for a very inexpensive price because we probably have 5-6 books that use this same battery. Just a FYI for people that say that have battery issues and/or can't find the batteries, check Amazon.

I’m used to him shutting the book on me after the first page. He’s been bringing this to me all night to read!! 🙌🏼 He also picked up on the story quickly and has been finishing the sentences (great for building vocabulary!). This book is great because it’s simple but still has a nice story line. It’s simple enough for distracted toddlers to follow! The illustrations are gorgeous, and the animals are so cute. I love that it incorporates counting, common sounds/action words, animals, and general Christmas themes. This is perfect to start reading early before the holiday season, especially before you go and get your Christmas tree. I highly recommend this for all ages, but especially 2 year olds. The tree lights up at the end… such a wow factor!! ✨ This is also on the Amazon fire tablet for free (on FreeTime), so your little one can read it wherever they are. Hope this helps! ☺️

We have several Little Blue Truck books and we love reading them. The original one is a very nice board book, and the Halloween has flip panels that our daughter LOVES to play with. Both very cute stories (and I highly recommend). This Christmas edition is really disappointing and strays from the path that I think Little Blue Truck runs. First off, the book itself is a flimsy quality. While it is technically "hard cover", the pages aren't well suited for our 12 month old. We stick to board books and thought this would fit in the same category as the other Little Blue Trucks. I wish this were advertised as a regular book or had something in the description so parents knew it wasn't like the others. Second, the story isn't as much fun. Sure counting trees is great, but we can count anything on the pages without the story simply revolving around counting. It kind of feels like the publishing company said "just get something Christmas related out there - it'll sell great". Doesn't have the same uniqueness and special touch that the others have. Third - and this is a big reason for the 1 star - the twinkle lights are INSANELY bright. Hurt my eyes bright. I don't want my child to look at them bright. We ended up shelving the book instead of reading it, and I'm going to rip out the electronics before we reintroduce it next year. TL;DR: I'm a fan of other little blue truck books, but this one really missed the mark.

Little blue truck Christmas was a huge hit with my 3 year olds preschool class! It was my turn for reading and craft time and we needed a holiday theme. (There are a ton of great little blue truck craft ideas online for btw) We found a free printable LBT page on Pinterest and cut out a truck for each kid, along with trees to deliver. They all really loved the last page with the blinking Christmas tree lights! It was definitely a short book but they all requested several encore performances:)

My first Blue Truck book was the Little Blue Truck board book I bought to read with my youngest grandson. Later I bought Little Blue Truck's Springtime. When my spouse and I moved into a new home amid the Covid-19 pandemic, we went a little crazy with new metal yard art including a terrific Little Blue Truck. It does not sit outside but on a table in my living room where the contents of the pickup bed change with the seasons. For Christmas, there are 5 little trees to go along with the story in Little Blue Truck's Christmas. I strung the largest with a line of battery powered lights that go on and off on their own timer. This goes along with the fun twinkly lights at the end of the book...a fun surprise at the first read thru! Little Blue Truck delivers 4 of his trees to his animal friends and has one left for himself and Frog. It is a cute little tale with lovely pictures. This was my new Christmas book this year and is displayed on the table with the truck with the trees in the bed. I smile every time I pass by.

However, I came across this book in Target one day and to my surprise, the paper is extremely heavy cardstock! Huzzah! So, I ordered it off Amazon because of course it was cheaper, and my son loved it as well! The story follows Blue as he picks up 5 Christmas trees, all different somehow, to our friends from the previous books. Kids learn to count up to 5 and also learn big and small and short and tall. Kids also learn the value of giving and sharing something special with a friend. In the end, Blue and Toad have a tree that "glows" when you open the last page. My son did attempt still to tear open the pages, but the book is durable enough that if it were a regular book I would have been to too late. This one has crumples, but it's still intact and that proves this is 2 year old proof!

Little Blue Truck's Christmas is an excellent book for any child on your list for the holiday season. It's a great Christmas book. Perfect for your son or daughter, grandchild, godchild, niece or nephew or any special child. I think of it as a great book, even for kids who love truck, especially kids who love trucks. I guarantee your kid will love this book. Perfect book for a child's 1st Christmas. I'm giving it to my little niece for her 1st Christmas this year. I know she'll love it. What I love about this book is Little Blue Truck picks up Christmas trees for it's friends. It delivers 4 trees to different animal families and Little Blue Truck keeps a tree for itself. It's a great Christmas book.

Great book series

I’m collecting all the LBT books and this is the 3rd added to my collection. I’ve read it 3 nights straight before tucking my almost 4 year old into bed. So what it is August. My 1 1/2 year old also enjoys opening the last page to see the Christmas tree lighting up. The pictures are cute too. I like that it teaches some counting, 1-5 Christmas trees that Blue carries and gives away. My book was used but in very good condition. Happy with my purchase and

We’ve always liked the Little Blue Truck series. Nice flow. Only issue I have is the book binding. ALL the pages were not glued together as it’s supposed to, as normal books should. When you turn the pages, you can literally see gaps in between each pages. Big huge gaps in each and every pages! I thought it was just the one book I had. But when I returned it and got a replacement, it was the same! So it’s all like that. I guess. Because the two books that was delivered to me, it ALL had gaps in between each and every pages!. So sad. So annoying. Because I know my 3 yr old will try to and will tear each pages apart because of the gaps. 👎

Well, I wasn't familiar with The Little Blue Truck Series (shame on Grandma) but due to reviews, I purchased for 3 Y/O grandson. Gave it to him early (yesterday) so he could enjoy over the next holiday month. The book is of good quality, lights up and he was thrilled and familiar as he has three others in the series! Highly recommend. Hope to get to read it to him sometime.

We love little blue truck and this christmas one is just great! Not sure if it's just amazons copy or a misprint in general but our book seems to be missing a page. It doesn't tell you what happens to tree #2. Still a great book tho.

This is me one of my son's favorite books. I you it for him for Christmas but we still read it almost every day. It is a great addition to our Little Blue Truck series. The pages are starting to separate but he is 11 months old and VERY hard on his books. He loves the last page that lights up! Would definitely purchase again.

We really enjoy these books. This one is special because of the lights at the end. The pages are a little strange, it's not a board book but also not thin paper, but they didn't stick them together for some reason so there is a gap? Some other reviews pointed this out. Overall this has not gotten in the way of us enjoying the book almost every night at bedtime!

My kid and I loved this book. We even keep reading it after Christmas! Has such lovely colors and the lights at the end of the book is such a cute surprise! Also, helps to teach my kid how to count and identify numbers 1-5.

Any "Little Blue Truck" book is a good one for your little one and this one did not disappoint! My little 3-year old granddaughter has even memorized a couple of them so far - and this one became a new favorite. We have now purchased a toy blue truck and the animals. We will now continually get some more until we have the entire series. Highly recommended as it teaches some good morals in a very fun way.

My 3 year old grandson has a couple of Little Blue Truck books so I got this for him before Christmas. It’s another cute story with a fun, light up Christmas tree at the end of the book. The story involves counting the Christmas trees which my grandson enjoyed doing as we read the story. I would definitely recommend this book especially to children who love The Little Blue Truck stories!

My daughter says it is one of my grandsons favorites as well as hers! She loves reading it and he loves hearing it. Said I may need to buy another as it could be worn out before next year. Obviously kidding.

We already owned Little Blue Truck Halloween, and Little Blue Truck Leads the Way.... but it was a "must have" and it didn't disappoint. The light up tree at the end of the book is magical. It's similar to the other books, but reenforces subtraction from 5 through the story. Very cute!

We've had the original Little Blue Truck for a few years and it was always a favorite. This book has the familiar characters and adorable rhymes, but with a Christmas and counting twist. Of course my son loves the Christmas tree at the end that lights up. Beautiful and fun book.

This book is true to the Little Blue Truck series. It has the cute rhyming pages and at the end a surprise light up page! My 4 year old ( and even her big (teenage) sister ) love this book!

I bought this book to go with 23 other books we bought from amazon to make our Boys an advent for Christmas, I'm super happy with the quality of this book for the future years to come in our new family tradition of reading one Christmas book a day until Christmas eve every year.

This book has been a HUGE hit with my toddler! We loved it so much we bought a copy for my niece and nephew too! They too love it! It's a great book to even practice counting with my toddler, #1-5, when counting the Christmas trees! My toddler loves to point out al the different trucks too. I love that at the end my toddler gets a little prize with the beautiful Christmas lights! This book is still a hit and pulled off the shelf on a regular basis and it's mid-January!

Oh my! I love this book!!! I love the sparkling Christmas tree at the end. I FaceTimed my grandson to show him and he couldn’t take his eyes off of it. This is such a great book! I got it on a buy two get one free deal on here and I am so glad I ordered it!

The Little Blue Truck series is a Favorite of ours so of course the Christmas Book was a Must! It is Super Cute - Especially the Twinkling Christmas Lights at the end. So far the Original Battery has lasted 2 Years (I do pack it up after Christmas) . This one was purchased as an early Christmas Gift for my little Nephew - Suggested by my 5 year old!

This is such a cute Christmas book! I was sad to put it away for next year but I think my son will be so excited when I take it out again. He LOVED the twinkling lights at the end. I loved that it included counting on each page.

I love this book. Its not quite a board book, but the pages aren't just paper either. Its definitely a supervision only book, but it was already in that category because of the button batteries. This was our "something to read" this year, and my 8 month old loves Little Blue Truck. When we get to the last page he gets so excited. We loved it so much that we sent a copy to my friend's sons who love Beep Beep, too. 💚

This was a really cute story with lots of opportunities to work on academic skills (size, shape, color, counting). The story was simple. I've never read the 'Little Blue Truck' series. I will look for it in the future.

Got this for the toddler for Christmas since she loves the little blue truck series. It’s simpler and shorter than the rest and the last page has tiny flashing lights on it. Overall I’m satisfied and she enjoys it (also, it’s quiet so win win for me!)

This is a cute book and I especially like the hardcover pages. It's sturdy composition enables it to be read time after time. The pictures are well illustrated and allow you to tell your own story if you choose to skip through it. My grandson has other books in this series and I knew this one would be a welcome addition. It's just long enough for a child's short attention span.

This book is adorable and is great for little ones to learn counting from 1-5. Little blue truck is back to help deliver Christmas trees to all of his friends and it even shows how the trees are all different sizes and shapes. At the end of the book there is a fun surprise when you look at little blue truck’s tree because it has twinkle lights that actually work. My son just adores this book and so do I.

Such a sweet little book. Fun to read and my grandson loves the light up lights on the Christmas tree at the end.

This one is so cute! We are big fans of Little Blue. We love the pictures and the lights are really fun.

This book is so wonderful and the lights are so enticing that my 2yr old son always wants it and tries to find the source of the flickering. This resulted in me having to hide it from him. LOL.

I loved this book. It kept my 3 almost 4 yr olds attention. I liked the quick story about delivering trees and his eyes lit up with a huge smile when we got to the end and the Christmas Tree started flashing. There are not a lot of books that I get to hear “Again mom! Again!” 😊

My 18 month old daughter loves this book and this series... the twinkling lights on the Xmas tree were a big hit! The batteries were acting up and the replacements were pricy. The hardware store said we needed 3 batteries ($3 each); then when we got home the book was working again. Fortunately we haven’t had to swap the batteries after all but might be worth keeping in mind. We still read this book often, even though Xmas has passed.

Cute Christmas book. I love the original Little Blue Truck board book and a second one we also have, so I was glad that this one is good also. The grandchildren love just opening and closing repeatedly the last page where the lights are. They also liked trying to count backwards to "count down" the delivery of the trees (granddaughter age 3).

Not only is this a cute story to go along with the Little Blue Truck story, but it's a colorful light up board book. At the end of the book there is a tree all lit up in different colors. It's stunning and so fun to read to little ones before bed in dim light. Also, the book is 9 inches by 8 inches which is larger than your regular board book. Many counting experiences and animal pictures that will entertain and educate even the youngest.

My 4-year old loves Little Blue Truck, & the Christmas lights on the tree are a hit! He was so excited when he turned the page for the first time & saw them. We've been reading it every day.

I bought this book for my 21 month old son. He loves it. He doesn't really understand Christmas yet but loves Trees and holiday lights. He is amazed that the christmas tree lights up on the last page. We love that the book encourages counting (addition and subtraction) animals and a beautiful blue truck. This book is a real hit in our home and I would purchase for others with small children around christmas time. We plan to add more "Little Blue " books to our collection.

My one year old loves this book and asks me to read it again and again! The illustrations are adorable just like the other books in the series and it has a very cute store that incorporates counting 1-5 with the different animals. The pages are thick and durable, which is great for how rough my son is when he turns the pages, and the last page has a Christmas tree that lights up. It's summer and we are still reading this book constantly.

This book is wonderful. Each time I read it to my toddler, I feel like I have learned a lesson of my own in kindness! I LOVE these books, they are always a great way to teach kindness, love, compassion, empathy, sharing and caring. Totally amazing, the book is very well bound and has thick hard pages so it will last and last. Plus, the music in the back and lights were awesome! I was not expecting them so it was a wonderful surprise. This book is worth every penny!!!

I would recommend for sure. It takes a lot to get these nephews of mine into books and we read this one a good 4 times on Christmas Eve.

I just received this book and I know my grandson will love it! It is a little larger than most board books...about 9 x 81/2 inches. The front and back covers are definitely board book material although the pages are lighter weight than other board books but little ones will not be able to tear or fold the pages. The pages do seem to be glued together and the last page is quite thick but it holds the twinkle lights! There are 6 twinkle lights on Blue's Christmas tree.. red, yellow. blue, and green. I guess my one surprise with this book is that it takes 3 button batteries to run the twinkle lights...seems like quite a few to run 6 lights but the lights twinkle about 8 times and then turns off on its own... so hopefully the batteries will last through Christmas! The story has a quick, smooth rhyme, it is an easy read, and I was impressed that each animal said, "Please", when picking out its tree. I don't see how any Little Blue Truck fan could be disappointed in this book!

As always, we love the little blue truck, the pages have a defect but for me it was not so much a problem, I think it depends on how each person sees it, but I love it 💖

These books are so appealing. The writing and the beautifully detailed illustrations are wonderful. I notice a different little detail each time I read one of these books to my grandson. The authors are missing a marketing opportunity, however! I would've loved to have bought a real "Little Blue Truck," complete with animal friends, for my grandson!

I almost didn't buy this book after reading the reviews that it wasn't as great as the original "Little Blue Truck" book. While, I do agree that the original is better, this book is super cute. It rhymes well and is easy to read. Both of our kids (ages 1 and 3) loved to read it, and I liked the fact that while it has twinkling lights on the back page, there is no sound! If you are looking for a fun Christmas book, this is a great choice!

If you find the lights aren't working, be sure you have the book facing direct light. It won't work in a dim room.

My grandson loved this last Christmas when he was two. This year he started asking for it again. It is absolutely adorable. Anyone who is familiar with Little Blue Truck knows how wonderfully resourcefull he is! This book is no exception. My 4 year old daughter loves this book! I think it would also be good for younger children because it helps children practice counting 1 through 5. The last page is so fun with twinkling lights. This book is definitely a keeper.

Love this series of books!!! My grandson is enchanted with all Little Blue's adventures. The rhyming cadence of the books is great and I enjoy reading them as much as he loves hearing them. This book is a special holiday treat!!

We <3 the Little Blue Truck. The original will always have a place in my heart but I thoroughly enjoy this book, the big city and the halloween book. The awesome ending for this book is a Christmas tree with twinkling LED lights which really amuses my toddlers. Highly recommend if you are already a fan of the Little Blue Truck.

Just received this a couple days ago and it's already a favorite! My kids love the other books in the "Little Blue Truck" series and this too was a hit especially since there are flashing Christmas lights on the last page. As with the other books, it's a very catchy read and the illustrations are great featuring characters they recognize from the other Little Blue books.

Love the series little blue truck! This is my favorite one out of all of them! Got it for a family member and they thought it was the cutest book! I have read it and it’s absolutely adorable and love the rhyming.

We read this every night since we got it through New Year. The kids were sad to pack it away with our Christmas decorations. Our 6,4,&1 year old loved this book, I did too! It’s a great book to help teach counting and number recognition. And as with all Little Blue Truck books, the story and pictures are adorable.

The Little Blue Truck series is one of the best children books on the market. I have given many to children throughout the family. Every parent has told me this is their favorite. One great niece gets so excited each holiday waiting for me to come over to read the corresponding holiday book. Love the Christmas one, though still stuck on the original "Little Blue Truck".

Many reviews mentioned a drop in the quality, I think the biggest difference is this is not a board book, which does not matter for us at all. My kids are 3 and 4, and do not tear books that easily anymore, and if they do, it does not matter what the book is made of anyway. The story was cute, rhymes felt more natural than some in the previous books. If you have a LBT lover, she/he will love the 3rd part, too.

My kid loves the little blue truck books. If you do not have the original I suggest you buy it. This book is almost as good but it its still great. It is much shorter book that ends with lights that blink. It looks bigger than it is because of the hardware for the lights. It has a nice rhyme to it and great illustrations! I will probably buy more little blue truck books for my son.

My two year old is a Little Blue Truck fan. We love the original book for the nice message about the importance of helping and being nice. For Christmas this year we included this book and my daughter is fascinated by the last page with the twinkling tree lights. I like that it's a counting book without being obnoxious. We will likely purchase additional books by this author.

I thought the book was a board book, it isn’t. That’s okay though, I probably didn’t read it right. The pages aren’t paper thin either though so that’s nice. What I also didn’t realize is that at the last page the whole Christmas tree lights up!! This blew my 2 year old away! He was so happy and excited! This was such an amazing surprise that instantly made this book a favorite!

Our three year old loves this book! The lights at the end were a nice surprise for our little boy, and mama too! They are very bright. We love talking about the different size trees that Little Blue Truck delivers to his friends, and the one he has for himself. Cute story, and even though its a Christmas book, we'll keep it out year round. We have the original book too, and find this one to be just as charming.

Tha story is really nice and a teaching lesson. Baby love the story and especially the light on tree at end. That fascinated him.

Having this book for awhile now, it has grown to become one of my daughter's favorite books. We have almost all of the Little Blue Truck series books, and this is one of her top 2. It's a quicker read than some of the others, which is fine for the nights that we have to get to bed earlier than usual. The lit tree at the end always seems to surprise her like it's the first time she has seen it. Good story and illustration.

Instead of doing Christmas cards we give books and write a little note with the date, we gave this to our daughter this year for Christmas and she LOVED it!!! Little Blue Truck books are the best!

I loved the book and give it five stars but had to get the book from Barnes and Nobles instead because the ordered item never arrived from the seller. It would have been a fantastic value if I had been able to get it as ordered but it was worth the extra due to the surprise on the last page. I am sure the children I bought it for will enjoy it for years to come (especially since one of them is only 15 months old as of receipt). It follows the usual Little Blue Truck format with rhyming and bright simple pages.

This book is so cute and was a great price. My son was a newborn at Christmas this year, but can’t wait to read it to him this coming Christmas. The lights at the end grab his attention even now at 3 months old.

While it’s not my favorite of the Little Blue Trick Series, it is a very sweet addition for Christmas time. And my 20 month old LOVES it. The pages of this board book aren’t as thick (I assume to make space for the battery pack at the end that lights the tree—a favorite for my toddler.) But the book is still nice quality. The story is simple, but it offers opportunities for counting. And my son loves to see all his familiar Little Blue Truck characters. We enjoyed this addition to our collection!

We enjoy the book, especially the Christmas light. The blinking lights add spark to infants and toddlers. My kids were able to stay with me in the read aloud and they requested to repeat the story several times, especially to see the Christmas light.

The Little Blue Truck adventures are one of my Granddaughter's favorites. This one does not disappoint.

My sons loves little blue. I have to admit my wife and I also do. These books are great and FUN to read as the parent. This one was a huge hit with the light up tree at the end. It's mid February and my son is still asking for it 3-4 nights a week. We have all 3 blue books and think the illustrations are amazing.

This was a gift for my 2 year old nephew who lives in another state. Mom told me he enjoys reading the book and especially likes the pictures.

Beautifully Illustrated. Heartwarming story. Was fun for G-ma and 2 1/2 year old grand. She sat still for entire book.

The Little Blue Truck series has great drawings, life lessons, and a great rhyming scheme. NOTE: I did make a return on this item when I thought the lights in the back weren't working. It turns out that the lights only work when there's enough light nearby (as it were solar-powered, but it's not). This will not work in complete darkness. This is a strange little quark, but it shouldn't keep you from purchasing.

It's March, and my 18 month old still asks for this book almost every day. She loves the lights at the end. The only thing I wish is that is truly a "board" book like the others and not just Extra thick pages. I can't leave it out for my daughter to look at alone because she could possible destroy it.

Another great book in the little blue truck series. Little Blue travels around delivering Christmas cheer via trees to all his friends. Animals, good values, counting, sounds, rhyming, & beautiful illustrations - all the things that make a wonderful children's book.

We bought a bunch of Christmas books for our children and this one by far was a favorite. My bigger kids loved the colorful and fun illustrations and my 3 year old loved the counting and rhyming text. All my children loved the light up surprise at the end.

First of all, thank goodness for another Little Blue Truck book! I read them nearly every day so I was happy to have this one during the Christmas season. Yes, a little pricey because of the lights but SO SO worth it! My 14 month old son loves it! Only problem is he wants to skip to the end to see the lights. I highly recommend this holiday book!
