Life Is Short (No Pun Intended): Love, Laughter, and Learning to Enjoy Every Moment

When we first meet Bill and Jen on THE LITTLE COUPLE, they'd already established themselves in their careers and were about to get married. This book covers the early years leading up to that point, talking about the unique challenges they individually faced as Little People, as well as the challenges that many of us face, such as coping with parents splitting, fitting in with step-family and seeking love. The chapters alternate between Jen writing from her point of view and Bill from his. That sounds like it might be jarring, but it actually works well. We hear about Jen's early childhood, then Bill tells us about his. Both are very open about the painful experiences, but also focus on how important attitude, love, support, appreciation and hard work are in overcoming obstacles in life. Once the book picks up after their marriage, it's interesting to see the differences in emphasis between the book and the TV series. One good example is that the book doesn't focus on the infertility treatments as much but does go into much more detail about the adoption process than we saw onscreen. This makes a lot of sense to me. After all, the former wound up being just a detour but the latter resulted in Jen and Bill becoming Mama and Baba to their beautiful children, Will and Zoey. I was already impressed and inspired by Bill and Jen, but am even more so after reading their book. I was always taught that it was never about what happened to me; instead it was how I reacted that made all the difference. That said, at times it's easy to forget that, lose perspective and feel overwhelmed. Bill and Jen are honest about having those moments, but focus on how they were able to flourish even during the hard times. It's an important life lesson, but they are living proof that it's the key to a happy life. Their positive attitude has enriched not only their own lives, but that of everyone around them. Highly, highly recommended.

This is the perfect go-to book for healthy doses of inspiration and information about Spondyloepiphyseal (Skeletal) Dysplasia. In tag fashion Jen and Bill share parts about their entry into this world, their family, challenges they faced being short people, and (in leaps and bounds... no pun intended) their successes and achievements. At times I found myself rereading paragraphs, forgetting which one was narrating, despite their unique experiences. Not only did they have different dysplasia’s but their support systems differed. Their personalities contrasted some too, albeit in complimenting ways, what had me anxiously turning pages anticipating how the two would ‘eventually’ meet. Nicely done. Very nicely done. Turned out to be well worth the wait. Their courtship, especially the way Jen spelled things out, was a courtship that any true romantic would dream of experiencing. B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L. Gosh, that was so beautiful. Overall, it took a day to read this memoir, but I could go on forever. Above all I truly thank this couple for sharing so much of their life. There is so much to learn, to like, to love, to laugh at, and that much more to be humbled and inspired by reading ‘Life is Short.’ Simply, A Must! Highly recommended.

I absolutely LOVED this book! My only "complaint" is that I would have liked for it to have been twice as long and included even more stories (and photos) from Jen & Bill's amazing lives! I enjoyed that they took turns writing chapters. Some of it had to have been painful for them to relive as they wrote it - but there was no evidence that they left out any of the difficult times. I believe their hope is to encourage and support anyone else living with similar emotional and/or physical challenges. The book does an excellent job of taking us through their lives as they lived them - running the gamut of emotions. But I found it much more joy-filled & hopeful than sad. As a late-comer to their TV show (which I now never miss), it was lovely to be able to "catch up" with the Klein family in this manner. If you already enjoy "The Little Couple", or if you've never watched the show but are curious about their story - or if you just need to see a light at the end of someone's tunnel - this book is a wonderful read! I recommend it.

I have watched the Little Couple TV show from the beginning. I feel very connected to this family. In fact, I jokingly say that I wish they would buy the house next door and be my neighbors. Their journey has been incredible and most likely will remain that way. I look forward to watching their equally remarkable children grow and thrive in the environment they have set up for them. In a world where most people can barely make it through a minor crisis without completing melting down and blaming everyone else for their troubles, it is so refreshing to see two people gracefully navigate the heavy currents of health and social issues and coming out of it laughing and being grateful. I am in complete amazement at how they do it. I have been a Psychologist for 30 years and have seen many people in crisis. There is but a handful that I have met that have had adversity this severe and journeyed through it as well. They are all my inspiration . And not the least of this is the remarkable love and devotion of their friends and families that have taken this journey with them. I feel honored to read their story and I will take it with me always. And every time I even think about complaining about some minor thing that has happened to me, I will remember what they have endured and with such dignity and grace.

They've suffered through cancer and back pain but when it mattered they were really fortunate to adopt two remarkable children. If you're a fan of The Little Couple, you'll love this book. I was late in watching The Little Couple as I'm not a fan of reality shows but I really do like this one as everyone is so personable and nice. Sincerely nice, not weirdly perfect as on other shows of this ilk.

Jen and Bill certainly can raise their heads high because make a difference they indeed have. I caught their show by chance and was captivated by the sincerity and down to earth reality. I despise the phoniness of so called reality shows, but none of that was on display here. I was privileged to spend some time with a bright accomplished doctor and a proud businessman, with wicked senses of humor and , in her case, a nervous self deprecating laugh. Oh, and by the way, they were little people. Their story, their family, their children became a celebration of life that was a joy to behold. This delightful book gives more insight into their lives and the difficulties of being being born little people, but in no way do these two people waste time blaming fate for all their ills....they celebrate life and achievement and dignity. Bravo to the authors for sharing their story and educating us all about the bigotry of ignorance.

I had no idea of the additional trials and tribulations Bill had to endure in his life. I hope all those college "kids" are ashamed of themselves for the way they treated Bill in college. Bill and Jennifer should be an inspiration to everyone. They have overcome so many physical obstacles in their life just by being born a little person. But, their size didn't stop Jennifer from becoming a medical doctor (neonatologist no less) and Bill from becoming a successful businessman. I found this book to be moving and easy to read. Bill, Jen, Will and Zoey are my favorite family, big or little!

The book is extremely well written and is a perfect supplement to their TV show "The Little Couple." The reader experiences the tough and courageous journey Jen and Bill had to eventually become as successful as they are today. You find yourself hoping that all those who bullied, avoided and looked down on these wonderful human beings,.are now eating a huge plate of crow! I wonder how the kids of those parents who discouraged association with Bill and Jen turned out? My children would have been proud to call them friends. Bill and Jen also talk about the tremendous support they had from their parents and relatives. Knowing what they and their families endured, it is admirably courageous for them to adopt those two adorable children who will have similar issues. Jen & Bill are amazing individuals, and after reading about the physical hardships they have endured (countless surgeries & procedures) and the emotional slights they have delt with due to the ignorance of "small minded people" I am even more impressed with their accomplishments. Thank you for sharing your stories Jen & Bill. Your beautiful children, Will and Zoey, are so blessed to have you for parents. You have brought so much love, laughter, and stability into their lives, and your family brings joy, smiles, tears and warmth to those who follow your journey.

I loved the show "The Little Couple" and I loved this book. The trauma they had to go through with so many surgeries was heartbreaking. I only broke my leg once and it was a huge trauma in my life. I can't imagine breaking bones on purpose! The trials they both went through I am sure contributed to the amazingly resilient people they have become. It was also fascinating to hear the way their lives were intertwined for years before they me. It was clearly fated that they be together. I was jealous of the tremendous number of friends in their lives, their stable and loving families (including the one they are building with Will and Zoey) and the incredible financial and career success they have both attained. What they have achieved is no easy feat for people of any size with or without a disability. They are an example to all of us of overcoming obstacles with an amazingly positive attitude and grace. I am grateful to have this peek into their lives and look forward to continuing to watch their lives on TV.

I was not familiar with this show or family until I started a medical leave for cancer treatment. I had heard that Jen Arnold had gone through chemo and started watching the show's 2014 reruns and new shows. I have enjoyed the show very much, it is one of the rare realty shows that have a purpose and integrity. So, I was very interested in this new book as I did not know how this couple got to this place in their career, family and the show. The chapters alternate between Jen and Bill, discussing their childhoods and the medical challenges they faced. I felt that the book augmented the purpose of their show - to raise awareness of the challenges of Little People and how any goal is possible. For this reason I rate this book 5 stars, it was educational, inspiring, and fun to read as both authors have wonderful outlooks on life and know that laughter is a part of that.

Great people. Great couple. Great family. They are honest and really have important messages to convey. I am blown away by Jen Arnold's mother. What a great woman. A role model for me as a mother. Strong, smart, loving. Little people is the only "reality show" I am watching. Because it is very positive. Too bad it has been placed it this category which is mostly reserved for some kind of "sensation". I would say they are not sensation. They are sensational!

I have been a fan of Bill and Jen since they came to TLC. The night they mentioned the book, I dashed to Amazon and ordered it. When it arrived, I read the book in one sitting......it's terrific, and it's a very easy read as if you're listening to them talk!!! They flesh out their childhoods and families, and go from kindergarten to college. I so admire how bravely they have met all the challenges they have undergone..........wow, so strong I just love the way Bill and Jen express their love and respect for one and other, and now that they have William and Zoey they are the perfect family that you would want for neighbors!! I think they have expanded everyone's understanding of Little People, and because they are such wonderful ambassadors of their group we are all so much better for coming to know, admire, and love them!!

I am a fan of the show and was looking forward to reading about Jen & Bill's younger years. The book certainly didn't disappoint! The Kleins let us have a very personal look into their experiences and I felt privileged that they allowed me to peek at some things ( I might guess) that may have been hard to write. I thoroughly enjoyed the book.

The Little Couple on TLC is a show that both my daughter and I love to watch together. When we saw this book at the local bookstore, we were very excited to buy it. I think that if you are a fan of the series, you will really enjoy this book. The book focuses mainly on them growing up, attending school and the various medical issues. By the time we get to their wedding, the book is almost over. So this is good for finding out about their lives before the series. I thought the book was very interesting, and I enjoyed reading it. The writing style is like an informal talk by Bill and Jen. If you are not a fan of the show, you may not like this book as much, but it would still be worth at least 3 stars. I give it 4 stars because I am invested in the characters.

Read this in just a few days. I couldn't put it down! I actually was reading another book when this one came into my radar, so I laid that one aside and read this instead. How do I begin? I didn't know it was possible to have even more respect and admiration for Jen and Bill before reading this book, but I do. People tend to dismiss the concept of "pulling oneself up by one's bootstraps", but that's just exactly what Jen and Bill have done, time and again. There's also the tendency by many to check out of their own lives when something painful happens. Jen and Bill plug through instead. I've often wished there were a way to teach self-esteem. This book could be a textbook for such a course.

If you are among the gazillion fans of The Little Couple, you'll no doubt find Life Is Short very appealing. There's background information on Bill and Jen's journey coming to peace with their stature. There are details and anecdotes and photos that fans will thoroughly enjoy. However, I don't think this book will translate to those who don't know who Bill and Jen are. It's truly an autobiography, written in their own words. Sometimes the writing is quite dry. But again, fans won't care so much because they're getting the inside scoop on this amazing couple. And, as fond of Bill and Jen as I am, I admit there are segments of the story that read a bit like a research paper. In summary: If you are a fan of The Little Couple, this will be an enjoyable read. If you aren't acquainted with Bill and Jen, it's hit or miss how the story will work for you.

Having watched the series on television which I found absolutely fascinating, I was eager to read the book and was not disappointed. Bill and Jen describe their experiences independently and we discover similarities they both enjoyed and suffered during their lives. They tell us personal things that did not come out in the television series, some very heartrending situations which for me, helped me understand more that living life with disabilities is not always a happy one. Jen and Bill are wonderful examples of little people, both extremely successful in their own rights. Becoming parents is the icing on the cake! 'Life is Short' is a must read. Highly recommended.

I loved this book. I admire Jen and Bill . Their story is fun, strong, brave with a deep love for their lives, family and humanity. I laughed and cried. I have been searching for the old episodes with good success. I experienced their joy, fears, trials and tribulations. I will continue to catching up with the old to New episodes. God Bless them. A wonderful read written by two very intelligent, articulate individuals who have managed to keep their senses of humor intact through innumerable adverse circumstances and situations along with their capacity to love and accept the best this life has to offer. Even though they are little people, their physical stature is the last thing about them that makes them special. This book introduces the reader to the many people in their lives who had such a deep and profound influence in helping to mold them, including their very human parents all of whom did what every really good parent does and that is to love their child unconditionally and yet also have expectations and standards for that child as well. If one is looking for an uplifting and inspiring read with a generous portion of good humor thrown in for good measure, this is the book for you.

I really loved this book. I love their show, have been a fan since season 1 and this book did not disappointed. It actually gives you a deeper insight of Bill and Jen's lives growing up. I pretty much cried every 2 pages. It is as inspirational as you can get. And sad, sad that ignorance can hurt such an amazing pair of human beings. I commend them for putting their lives on TV to educate the general public. And well, the adoption of their kids is the cherry on the top, an incredible story. I recommend this book for their fans, for people that have never been close to a little person and want to learn more about them. For everybody in general, it is about how you make the best of your situation and enjoy living life.

Inspiring story about an amazing couple. I thought I loved them before. Now I love and respect them even more and their wonderful parents. They are such beautiful people with two amazing children and I can't get enough of them. They are the real deal and their book lets us have a peek into their childhood and their journey to adulthood and the present. Great reading with some very emotional stories and a very happy ending. Loved the book, the photos and these amazing people. Wish only the best of love, health and happiness for this beautiful family.

I read this eBook in two days. Loved reading the stories from each of their lives and how they became the people they are today. I must admit, the bullying could have made them different people, but their parents and their own personalities kept them grounded. I want to thank Jen and Bill for sharing their lives with the rest of the world. I truly feel they have changed the perceptions of the world.

I only discovered the show, the Little Couple, a few months ago and immediately fell in love with the family. I watched all of the reruns that I could find and the new ones at the beginning of the year. I was so disappointed when the show ended. So I purchased the two books. Have only finished this one so far but it is excellent. It tells their story from when they were born and all of the trials they have had to face. It is really an amazing story that should give all who read it the belief that anything is possible!

I was truly inspired by Jennifer and Bill's ability to overcome the immense physical and mental challenges in their lives and thrive. I truly admire Bill's mother, who had to struggle as a single mom, yet she persevered to raise Bill and his brothers to be remarkable and accomplished men. The same can be said of Jennifer's parents. I believe that nothing happens by chance in this life, and I believe that Bill and Jennifer were meant to find each other and to find their two beautiful children. I thoroughly enjoy watching their lives on television, but I hope they have another book in the works soon!

Good book, very informative. This couple is so inspirational when one reads how many surgeries they have had to go through just to walk and be as normal as possible. When we healthy humans have an ache or a pain, it is nothing compared to what they as a couple combined had to live through as children and now adults. To go on and adopt young children with dwarfism. something they can truly relate to, and knowing what their children will have to endure in the future with health issues, and the public gawking at them, they are just an inspiration to me. I think they are great and very brave and a true role model to their children. I hope the series continues on TLC so that we as a public can follow them in the future.

I would love to give this book 5 stars, just because I love this family! But, I must be honest with my review. I liked this book alright mainly because I like this family. The book wasn't nearly as much fun to read as I thought it would be. Photos weren't that interesting either. The first half dragged on, truthfully. Maybe it's just because I've already seen every episode of their TLC show, so there was no real surprises. I already know their story & it's a lovely story.

What's not to love about two people who have met such serious health challenges and come out on top...one a NICU doctor, the other a successful businessman. And, they are so in love, with each other and devoted to their 2 adopted children, Will and Zoey. They have served as role models for me more than once when life came at me real hard. They were my inspiration to get up and try again, because I haven't been through anything like they have. Great read; not a long book, because they're still so young that they've only begun to live their lives. Hopefully, one day, there will be another book to follow up, say, about the kids and their lives.

I have always loved watching Jen and Bill on their reality show.They are such a sweet,inspirational and such a successful couple in many many ways. I love the cohesiveness of their beautiful family. The book made me admire these wonderful people even more.They have gone through so much but never let any obstacle get in their way of happiness and success. I highly recommend this book and their television show.

Loved this book just as I love their tv show. It was great to get their back stories and hear what both went through as children with their many medical procedures. Found out lots of details I had never known about either of them and their families. It's written in alternating chapters by Jen and then Bill each covering a similar time in their lives and then after they meet and start dating it continues with each writing their own chapters so we get a personal viewpoint from each one's perspective. Very entertaining and a great insight into their individual personalities. I think they're both amazing people and love the little family (no pun intended) they've created with Will and Zoey.

It tells of how they were made fun of when they were children in school and also how they got an excellent education through college. All the surgeries they went through and how their lives were parallel. How they fell in love. So many things we don't understand that they have to go through each day. Being short myself, 4'11", is nothing compared to being 36inches tall and stools for everything. The world is meant for taller people and they have to struggle for everything.

I've been watching the show The little couple on YouTube and discovered they have written a book that I just had to read. They are so engaging and open about their lives where for the most part little people aren't so common and I know that I definitely didn't know that the word midget was offensive and I wouldn't have meant it to be so I'm so glad to know. This is a great book for everyone especially for those wanting to adopt abroad. Great work Jen & Bill

Great book! I watch this program every time it is on and just love this family. This book is great!!! It shows you what the parents went through trying to raise this couple. What wonderful parents they are too! Not taking away from the couple at all as I know they had a tough go of it. This books goes into detail of their lives and they still made a great live for themselves. They are a very strong couple and perfect for each other. I really enjoyed reading this book and it is now one of the best books I have read, then again I love true stories!

All I can say is WOW! What an amazing life story of Jennifer Arnold and Bill Klein! These two amazing people are miracles of God. There are just moments in their life where this has to be God! There are miracle after miracle in their lives! I will let you read the book to read them. Their lives are so inspirational. You can see while reading this book how all the pieces of their lives are coming into place like a huge puzzle. I think Bill and Jen will be able to look back and see the beautiful tapestry that God has designed just for them. I highly recommend reading this book. I read it all on vacation in about 24 hours.

I'm a faithful viewer and I am so very fond of this dear family. What stunning accomplishments they have achieved. I look forward to learning more of their story through their next book and their TV show. They exhibit a view of a loving family who has overcome many obstacles in their lives and will over come more in the future. Bill and Jen are outstanding people and Will and Zoey are just adorable. I'd be proud to call them "family".

As a big fan of their show, I thought the book was wonderful. They were willing to share so much of the lives from birth to the present day. They have both overcome so many obstacles, yet continue to look forward and stay positive. They are an inspiration to one and all. I wish them continued success and a many happy memories with their beautiful children. First book I've ever paid for on my Kindle and worth every dollar.

LOVED this book! I already loved the family, and it was so good to read about Jenn's and Bill's earlier years. I liked the way they took turns writing the chapters, too. An excellent and quick read.

I've watched rid show since it started, but you don't really know too much about Bill from the show, just that he owns a pet store. The book is super in depth about them growing up and I learned a lot about what they've been through. If you enjoy the show, this book is a must have! The only thing about it I thought was strange was the way it was written. One chapter is about Jens childhood, then the next chapter is about bills childhood. Following chapter about Jen going to school, chapter after that about Bill going to school, etc., it was kind of confusing switching back and forth because it's not the typical style you read in. Other than that it was wonderful!

I loved this book! I usually listen to audiobooks but I could easily "hear"their voices while reading their story in my Kindle. I actually read it in one day I liked it so much. Their humor and honesty was as refreshing in their book as they are on camera. They have been through a great deal and are such an inspiration. I should be so lucky to accomplish even 1/10th as much! Thank God they both had parents who loved and encouraged them to reach the stars because that they have. They could just as easily call themselves "The Extraordinary Couple". Their kids are beyond adorable and were so clearly destined to be theirs. What a wonderful family! I highly recommend this book.

After watching the TLC show "The Little Couple", I knew I had to read this book about their lives. I wasn't disappointed. Bill and Jen take turns telling their stories. I learned many things about them that I had no idea about. I have even more respect for them now after reading about their struggles as little people. Their persistence in face of overwhelming challenges is noble. And they did it with great support from their families. Bill, especially, has a good sense of humor that I find particularly endearing. This is a great read even if you've never seen the show.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I already watch the show, but this book took me much deeper into Jen and Bills lives. Written very nicely, the books format kept me wanting more. I got a much better understanding of the impact that being different can have on a person. I was encouraged by two people with so much talent and lots of determination! I was so happy for them that they both found such a great doctor. The impact that this couple now makes on the world is awesome.

This family is so inspirational and I so enjoyed reading their story, even though I knew much of it from watching "The Little Couple" on TV. However, I didn't know the specifics of their early childhoods. I know it was difficult for them but the fact that they came out so successful in life says much about their families and their individual personalities. I know they are going to be writing a follow-up to this book and I really look forward to reading what comes next.

Of course I feel like I know Bill and Jen, since I am a huge fan of their TV show. I've watched them through the heart aches and joy they have been through and nothing can compare to the arrival of those two adorable children The book was written in a unique and refreshing way, with each one giving their own story. I tell you, this book kept my interest from beginning to end. A result of this book is that I have developed a deep feeling of empathy for the suffering that was, and is so much a part of their lives. God bless you both, Jen and Bill.

I love 💕 how Bill and Jen gives us a glimpse of their lives, growing up and how they overcome many obstacles along the way. This is a great inspiration and it encourages you to go for your dreams no matter what difficulties and challenges may come your way. I couldn’t even put the book 📚 down. You cannot read this exceptional book without being overwhelmed at the strength, perseverance, love, ang resilience of this couple. A dry eye would be unlikely, too. What courage, what faith, what encouragement. Everyone should read it.

I loved reading this book! The story is told in such a way that you feel as if both Jen and Bill are talking directly to you. What they both have endured is remarkable. Their love is beautiful, their stories are inspiring and really makes you believe in "what is meant to be, will be..." God bless their love and their beautiful family. I bought the book the minute I heard it was available as I've always wanted to know their back story. What an interesting read. Thank you to Bill and Jen for taking the time for us to get to know them better.

I only hate this book because it is missing pages 23-54!! The missing pages are replaced by pages 33-64 of a book called "Wildest Dreams", I only know the name of the book because it is listed at the top of those pages. I am so disappointed because I bought this book for my 11 year old who loves The Little Couple. However this book is now worthless to us and a huge let down! I have never seen something like this in a book. Sadly by the time anyone got around to reading the book, it was too late to return.

I loved Bill and Jen before reading the book but after I finished it, I love and respect them so much more. I had no idea how much both of them have been through just to have functioning legs and backs, and poor Jen with her neck. But despite it all, they have such a positive outlook and are the best parents for Will and Zoey. I feel like I already know them not only because I'm a NICU nurse, had infertility, and am a parent but because they are so down to Earth and just like the rest if us!

I love, love, love the Little Couple and their children. I anticipate each Tuesday night knowing they will be on tv. The book does an outstanding job of taking the reader into the hearts and lives of Bill and Jen, and you get a feeling of pain, joy, sadness, and gladness as you get the opportunity to get a good look into what has made them the people they've become. A great read!!

This was such a great book. I love watching their show on TLC and I knew I had to have the book. I love this little couple and their two children. Reading their book and learning about their childhood was an eye opener for me. They did not have an easy time of it with all the surgeries and other problems but they are a reminder that obstacles can be over come. Love this little family and I loved the book. I would give it 10 stars if i could.

I loved, loved, loved this book. I couldn't wait to read on! If you think you have a rough life ready this. It will put your petty problems in perspective! What these two have been through in their lives is amazing and how they are still positive upbeat people is amazing! I hope they continue their show, but wouldn't blame them for wanting to just live their lives without cameras following them around.

Amazing Couple! Their lives have never been easy, and yet, they have such positive attitudes on love, life and family. Overcoming more physical issues and problems than most, and still moving on and becoming professionals, adopting children and enjoying life! Truly makes me appreciate much more in life!

Thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Felt it was well written and liked the alternating chapters written by Jen and Bill. It really started at the beginning of their lives and continued through to the present...giving glimpses of all the struggles and support they received all of their lives. I have always enjoyed the show, but this book really filled in the blanks that are not covered on TV. Hope they consider writing another as their children grow!

Loved it! Just as much as I love watching their TV program. Educational, funny, fascinating, heart-rending, filled with love, are just a few of the adjectives I would use to describe this book. Like most of we "normal sized" humans, I'm always interested in learning more about little people; their health issues and how they adapt to a world created by and for us. Well written, but too short - I would have liked to be educated more about how they function in a "normal sized" world. Thanks, Bill and Jen, for opening your lives to us.

I really liked how the book was layed out. The alternating between Jen's and Bill's kept my interest. I thought the book was well written and gave an insight into the lives that you wouldn't necessarily get from just watching their TV show. Good book and good TV show. A win-win combination.

Like many others I've followed the Little Couple from almost its inception, through the problems conceiving a child, the adoption of those two gorgeous children, Jen's fight with cancer (a friend of mine also had a molar pregnancy but was fortunate in that no cancer developed and she and her husband gave birth to a handsome son), and Bill's surgery. I feel as if I know this couple and the book added to my enjoyment of the TV show!

Having watched just a couple of seasons of THE LITTLE COUPLE recently, I already feel I know what any viewer needs to know about Jen and Bill. Jen is incredibly smart and very personable. Bill is just as as smart (anybody who can make his apparent income and have as much time with his family must be) and has a sense of humor similar to my own husband's. I'm so glad I read and learned even more about, and from, this amazing couple. Read it and prepare to learn something you never knew you didn't know!

I enjoyed this candid sharing of some very difficult experiences that helped to mold these two amazing people. Because of a grandson born with major heart issues that limited his physical growth, I could quite easily relate to the emotional pain that Bill and Jen endured due to crude and insensitive people. Such experiences will unfortunately happen, but this book can provide many with hope for a better future.

A in-depth look at the Jen and Bill before they became The Little Couple as well as additional information about them and their children. A great book for those of us who are fans of Bill and Jen as well as other who don't know anything about them. I am so impressed by how they live their lives, and to remind me that its important to maintain as positive an attitude about any obstacles that life throws at me. (I also have their next book: Think Big: Overcoming Obstacles with Optimism which by the way was displayed on the top most shelf in the bookstore and I had to stand on my tip-toes in order to get the book!)

Just a great well written story about the whole family. As an "adoptee" I am especially impressed that Bill and Jennifer wanted to share their lives with these beautiful children. Love the Little Couple and their show. This book tells Bill and Jen's stories from birth up to the adoption of their children. Their infancy and childhoods were fraught with many, many surgeries and hospital stays, but they both came through with positive attitudes of life, much of which was due to the support and encouragement of their families and each other. It is the story of loving families.

Excellent book written by two remarkably inspiring people. Jen and Bill have achieved amazing things despite considerable obstacles they've faced throughout their lives. This is a must-read for anyone struggling with challenges in life and is looking for inspiration.

I REALLY enjoyed reading this book. Dr Jen Arnold and Bill Klein are joyful, inspirational, and kind. They tell their story with humor and grit. It was a delight to spend time with them.

I love the television reality show and loved that the book filled in the gaps. As a teacher of students with handicapping conditions, I love their determination and accomplishments in the face of adversity. I cried and laughed and could not our the book down till it was completed. Will and Zoey are precious and so full of happiness knowing how much they are loved.

The story in this book left out the first 19 pages and began on page 20. There were thirty pages of the beginning of a very unrelated book before that. Since I opened the package 2 days before I began reading it, I had already thrown away the packaging and invoice so I am unable to return it. I have started reading the story beginning on page 20 and it appears to be a very interesting life story, very enjoyable and easy to read.

I love Bill and Jen's TLC show, and learned much more about them from reading this book. This is an autobiography like so many others today and that more likely than not partially ghost-written, but I finished the book feeling encouraged by how much the couple accomplished despite physical adversity and hostility because of their size. I would definitely recommend as it was a quick read and showed just how strong these two individuals are.

This was an amazing story!! The trials and tribulations this couple had to go through individually as well as a family is mind blowing!! But through all of this they persevered as a couple and a family. Loved it!

The book is great read, but my book had been wet at one time and has several buckled places in the book. Not flat like a book. But still a good book to read.

I enjoyed the read. Really easy to read, I think I read it all in less than a day. I love this family. They are so honest and real. Its really nice to be able to have a bit of insight on a family that I watch regularly. Well written. I am looking forward to their next book...which I think may be out by now!

I love the family and their closeness and the sarcasm people come to expect from the family but the book's verbosity bored me.

I loved this book! I started reading it and couldn't put it down. It was as if Jen and Bill were sitting right there talking to me. Their stories and the stories of their parents were extremely inspiring. I now wonder how people with dwarfism survived in the 1950s and before. Great book!

This is a well written book. It is very interesting and moving. Dr. Jennifer Arnold and her husband, Bill Klein, described the problems they had growing up as little people. The information in the book is more detailed than what was revealed in the television series. I read the book first and my wife is reading it now. I am going to read it again as soon as she finishes. It is an excellent book.

I read this book in 3 days, which for me is quite fast. I love their show and as a very near future foster-to-adopt mom, I was happy to relive the adoption experience with them, as well as the messages their parents gave them as they were growing up. And it is helpful to remember, for me, that sometimes getting kids takes time. The writing was intelligent, funny, and easy. I am also a high school teacher, so I liked hearing about kids growing up and their time in school. I recommended it to a few of my friends, who won't head the call, but I'm sure they liked my rant in any case :)

In depth examination of this family that's not covered in the TV show. Really adds to family story. I didn't realize how much they suffered in their youth with their awful surgeries. It was eye opening to see that Bill would actually consider suicide. Overall, an inspiring book and I would recommend to anyone

I LOVE their TV show, "The Little Couple," on TLC and thoroughly enjoyed reading their book. Once in awhile, I had to look back at the beginning of a chapter to see whose section (Bill's or Jen's) I was reading, but it wasn't really that big a problem. If you have fallen in love with this family as much as I have, you will also enjoy reading their stories.

This is a very easy, interesting read. I love The Little Couple and their adorable Children and I really enjoyed learning about each of them and their growing up years/school years/jobs. If you watch their show on TLC a lot of what's in the book isn't that new to you. But there is some stuff that I didn't know from watching the show. I feel like I was part of their lives a little more by them sharing their lives in the book. Recommend it highly!

The book is about their meeting, marriage and life. Good and bad times. Most of us can relate to their story on many levels. I hope they write another book about being parents.

A little dry in some places and a little slow, but overall a very good book. I've watched the TV show for years now and love this family so that was motive to keep me going and I was glad I did. Will probably buy the sequel.

Catches your interest right from the beginning. Great writing! Such a joy to watch Bill, Jen, Will and Zoey! Those kids are so cute, active and a delight! No doubt that the book would be just as delightful! So sorry they have had all the ups and downs physically. So lucky to have such loving parents! I have always loved watching Bill and Jen on there TV show and I love getting to know more about them. This is a wonderful book with lots of information. I am still in the process of reading the book and I have laughed and cried and thoroughly enjoyed what I have read so far.

It is a fascinating story, informative and enlightening. I hope there will be more shows so we can watch how these two very intelligent parents use their skills in bringing up those beautiful children. They set a good example to so many people. It is obvious that they put the children first, at the expense of not allowing filming when things would not be good for the family. Their perseverance in living life to it's fullest despite so many health setbacks and operations, etc. They are very brave and will be the best influence on their kids as well as so many who follow their life.

We met Bill and Jen on TV just a couple years ago and then we got to meet the two kids. I always wondered what their child hood was like and this book tells that story. If you like their TV show I highly recommend reading this book.

I have been inspired by Bill & Jen since I started watching their show a few years ago. Not only because of all they have had to overcome physically in their lives, but how they handled their struggles with optimism, hope, faith, love and strength. I went through chemo treatments recently, not as severely as Jen, but it still rocked my world. I looked to her for inspiration and found that there absolutely is life after chemo! I hope they continue to share their lives with us, not for us to intrude, but more to share in the joy of watching them as they raise their children! How blessed Bill & Jen and Will & Zoe are to have one another to travel through life together! I wish them all the best!

If you watch the show on TLC an know the family this book will bring you even closer to feeling part of the family. I enjoyed it very much. If you don't watch the show it's a must read. You will learn how little people are the same as everyone else. Only more challenges than you may have. They aren't complainers they are doers. Great stories.

Very inspirational story. I watch the TV show but it was nice to get some additional background so I could really understand their difficult journey through life and their wonderful achievements.

For those parents of Little People, medical professionals, and people with disabilities, this is the encouraging story of keeping a forward-looking perspective. Life has challenges that need positive and thoughtful solutions, you just need look for them. Congratulations to Jen and Bill for their success in dealing with a lifetime of challenges!

This book caught my attention on page one, and I could not stop reading. I already know the high level story because I am a big fan of The Little Couple TV series, but this book fills in the many details that are impossible to cover in the show. I especially loved the in-depth coverage of Jen's college years, and Bill's childhood.

Loved this book, it was well written...Love this Cute Family, love their show. So wish one day I could meet them. They represent all that I am and strive for in life, they may be small but they have huge hearts. They have no idea, coming from an adopted child myself...how much they have Blessed those little's of theirs by giving them Validation and bringing them into their home to Care and Love and Raise. That is all that has ever been really important to me...to be Validated that I am Worth being here on earth and Loved. Love this family so much! They are an inspiration to so many people. I really enjoyed the pictures and getting to know more about them. Anxiously awaiting their next book! This is a great book for anyone that is a fan of Bill and Jen and wants to get to know more about their lives as they each grew up as a little person and their own personal struggles and triumphs.

What a sweet book about love, but also, enormous trial. I give the parents of Jen and Bill a big hand. Then Jen and Bill themselves showed great courage. They achieved so much in their lives considering the problems they had to overcome. I love the kids. I think the change in Zoey from when they picked her up is amazing!!!!1

This is a wonderful book about a gorgeous family. I just love these people. They have such a wonderful marriage and 2 of the most beautiful children they adopted. This book was a wonderful love story. But what I enjoyed most was the interaction of both Jen and Bill and their medical staffs, doctors who come to see you on their days off is unheard of. I want to thank Jen and Bill for writing this book and sharing their life with me.

Love this family! I stumbled across the show last year while unpacking. I have dvrd every episode. They are an extremely lovable family and the story, as it's played out in the book, made me love them even more. Though I'm a bit older, I was surprised I hadn't crossed paths with Bill in our younger years. We have lived in the same areas of Long Island.

I do watch their tv show and am always impressed with how kind these people are. Too many shows/books focus on the negative, senesationalistic sides of modern life. What a joy & inspiration to find one that highlights the joys (& struggles) of a family. Many thanks to Jen. Bill, Will & Zoey for sharing a fragment of their lives...you inspire many!

I love "The Little Couple" tv sereis and I love this book. It is well written and very interesting. I felt badly about all the surgeries Jenn and Bill had to undergo as children. And I think it is so amazing that they haven't let their height affect their success. They also are wonderful parents to Zoe and Will. A beautiful family!

I watch the show religiously. So I bought the book to know the background of this amazing couple. I makes me sad to see the horrible things they had to go through as young people. I never realized that little people had so many things to endure. The book really opened my eyes. Yet they were stead fast and made a wonderful life together.

If you are a fan of "The Little Couple", this book is a most read, it tells the story of their lives from birth 6ntil now. They are such an amazing couple and have overcome more than most people can even imagine. And all the time with a positive and living attitude.

Very insightful and informative while being entertaining as well. As a fan of their show I thought I may not learn much from the book, but it delves into the history and back-story of their lives. A wonderful read, I couldn't put it down.. I have more admiration for Jen and Bill after reading their amazing stories.

This is a great book, well written, and made me like Jen and Bill even more. Anyone who watches their TV show knows what a loving and thoughtful couple they are. I live in the Baltimore area and didn't realize that they had both had so many surgeries at Johns Hopkins. They have both gone through so much but still always see the glass as "full". This is really a feel good book.

Personal opinion, Don't waste you money.

This is an excellent book. It is well-written and gives lots of insight into parenting and coping with difficulties in life. Many average size parents could benefit from the wisdom of these extraordinary people. I am a fan of their show and enjoyed the book for that reason. I hope they will write more books.

Very well written book. Loved the way the parents each wrote a chapter about their experiences during same time period. Learned more about a family that I have followed since they first were introduced to us via TLC television.

I enjoy the tv series and the book was a little more detail on their early life. Truly amazing people, and an encouragement to others, what they have had to go through in life with multiple surgeries, obstacles, and people viewing them different, they are truly inspirational.

This book was such a fun read! Unlike the show, the book tells us all about Jen and Bill's incredible life journey before their days on TCL. It was great also being able to read from Jen or Bill's perspectives as they went through the adoption processes and while battling other trials we have seen on the show. Love this book and I love this family, they are truly inspiring.

Wonderful read. Just recently started watching when TLC ran a marathon and it covered the 2 adoptions. I was totally hooked. Enjoyed reading the 2 back stories of each of them and how their lives intersected even though they were not always aware of it. Very impressed how she navigates the medical world and is able to bring a deeper level of compassion due to her unique perspective. I love Bill's sense of humor and fun and his willingness to share his own struggles. Such a powerful message of hope from both.

Wonderful story of a wonderful Family. I love the TV show but loved the book more..If only the whole world lived like these two sweet people live it would be a perfect world.. Now Bill, you should have liked my Steelers a little more. But that's OK.. I live in Georgia but my heart is still in Pittsburgh when it comes to Football. I love my Steelers.. I have been watching the Little Couple since it started! I knew some of their story because of the show but I loved getting the inside "scoop" on their love story and growing up years! loved this inspiring book. when reading it I felt like I was getting to know Bill and Jen as well as those cuties, Will and Zoey. It felt like I was sitting with them having a conversation.

My family LOVES The Little Couple.. I got this for my mom's birthday bundle gift. Got one for myself as well. She has a trip coming up in a couple of weeks and is saving it to read then but she was very happy to have it!!

Problem with quality control. I got a defective copy. The first 20 pages were from a different book; the correct book just abruptly starts 20 pages in and I am missing the first whole part of the book.

I have so much respect for Bill and Jennifer. I loved their book and love to watch their TV show. They did a great job writing about their lives up to this point. Would recommend this book to their fans and to those who are not yet familiar with this lovely family.

Very enjoyable. I already admired both but this book took it to another level. They have been through so much but have persevered to be where they are today--personally and as a couple. I was amazed at the parallels of their lives before they ever started dating.

This book tells Will and Jen's story so honestly. I watch the show regularly but picked up a lot of things I did not know in the book. Bless them for all they have been through and still adopting two children with the same needs. A definite read.

I took this book on vacation and could not put it down. I liked how one chapter was written by Jen and one by Bill. It was a heartfelt story of their lives and at times I had tears in my eyes. They prove anyone can do anything and size does not matter. I learned some things about their families that was a surprising. this book was great and I recommend it highly.

Great read! Loved that Jen and Bill told their stories their way. I hope the book brings more awareness to how society treats people who are viewed as "different." I also hope people can be inspired by their stories - separate and together. I hope they write another book!

This is one of the best books I have ever read, hands down! I ordered it and received it Friday night; started reading Saturday and finished by Monday afternoon, and was very sad to finish the book. Very well written; it moves so nicely between Bill and Jen's lives fron childhood to parenthood. I found this book easy to read, filled with joy, laughter, and moments of sadness like when Jen's aunt Chrissy passes away. I am so encouraged and glad hearted to have read this book. It really sheds a light on the lives of some little people. We are all people, no matter our stature, who love, feel pain, and have hopes and dreams. We are all God's creatures.

Wonderful family with a lot to teach. They remind me that my worries are just not that daunting when I see what they've overcome and the fantastic attitude towards life they have. They deserve every happiness in the world.

Compelling. These are two off the charts intelligent people! They have gone through their share of difficult times but now are enjoying all good things life has to offer - especially now that they have William and Zoey. God bless them!

So many books written today with limited story focus. It was a real joy to read about the courage of Bill and Jen. Their parents are special. I admire the strength of both these families. I think they have angels standing with them. I will always look at Little People differently now. Can't complain about much in my " normal " life. Thank you for sharing your story.

I totally enjoyed reading this book! I started it and found it very hard to put down. I've always enjoyed the TLC show on which the Arnold's appear, but have an even bigger respect and admiration for them after reading this book. Excellent book. Bill and Jen are truly an inspiration as a couple, as preents, and as individuals. I love all the pictures of them and Will and Zoey. It is also really heartwarming to see how happy Will and Zoey are- Bill and Jen are terrific parents. I highly recommend this book.

I always wondered about the upbringing of Jen and Bill. I am a huge fan of the show but, obviously the show doesn't expound on their childhoods. I did notice some instances that were mentioned in the book were not shown in that particular way on the show and I guess that is due to editing. All in all very interesting and I finished it in 2 days.

I have been watching their TV show the past couple of years. Concerning the book, I especially appreciated learning more about what both of them experienced growing up- their surgeries etc. Very uplifting story- two great people- and what lovely kids!!

If we could all have been loved as children as Jen and Bill were, some of us would never have needed to visit a therapist. What is not to love about this family? Zoe and Will are very lucky children.

I bought this as a gift for my great nieces. Whenever the girls visit me we watch the TV programs over and over. This was a perfect gift for the girls - they read it at night with their mother.

I love the Little Couple on TV and this book is an inspiring tale of their early lives.I am always floored by how positive they seem, especially Jen and it's interesting to understand how they learned to appreciate and accept themselves for who they are.

This is an account of two amazing people and how they changed the lives of two very lucky kids. Jen and Bill are just outstanding and their families are as well. I admire them and what they have accomplished. This book is a must-read.
