Seller provided wrong description

The book itself is good. But I got it from the seller named Hippo Books where they described the condition of the book is VERY GOOD. It turned out almost every page has notes, all exercises are done. There are even some stamp marks that cannot be cleaned. Worst of all, the covers are messed with some brown colored thick soup like thingy but already dried out. Spent a lot of time to clean up but found out the liquid also messed up many pages that is not clean-able. The book can only be described between good and acceptable.

Works with Edition 1

My second child is starting to learn piano from this series. I have the 1st edition lesson book and was really happy that I could use the 2nd edition theory book with it. Arrived quickly and in good shape.

Theory books help to motivate

I bought (and paid for) this particular Theory book for a student who has no interest in learning to read music. He always prefers to learn songs by tutorial YouTube videos. He's learning about theory in spite of himself!

Great way to cover music theory

My students really like these books. They're colorful and the material is presented in a fun, playful context. I have students who remind me to do theory if I forget.

Music theory "workbook"

I love teaching from this series, using the Lesson, Technique, Performance and Theory books. All the units move forward together and each book offers a different sort of challenge. The theory book functions much like a math workbook, focusing on music theory. It almost always has examples that are very similar to pieces in the lesson, technique and/or performance books, so student cannot help but make the connections with what they are doing during practice. The hardest thing about the theory book is getting the students to complete the pages. I request students complete their theory as part of their first practice session after their lesson, to ward off practicing something "wrong" for a week. It's simply not a favorite--at this level, most students feel like they are wasting time on anything that is not actually playing the piano. This book offers a few pieces, but is mostly a workbook for things like interval training, music "vocabulary", ear training, manuscript writing, and pages that must be completed with the instructor's assistance (ex. sections where instructor plays something and the student must identify which example they heard).I've tried not using it with a few students, but it actually makes a pretty big difference in how much they understand about the music.

An excellent theory companion for the lesson book

This theory book is an excellent companion for the lesson book, well matched with the concepts in the lesson book.

Thoughts

My piano teacher got me started on these books. For people who like being self taught, I believe they are excellent. Of course we often need the experience of a wise teacher to catch our faults. There are three to four books in the series and even if you have some experience, start at the beginning because the Faber's will help catch bad habits.

Great piano learning book series

Great piano learning book series. It is my favorite! The kids enjoy it and the songs are good. The theory is well written and displayed nicely.

Great buy

Great series. Came in time.

best piano books ever

my son started his piano lesson from My first Piano adventure A and now he is playing 2A. this is such a great piano book we love all the songs so much

I love this series

I love this series! My daughter is working her way through it with a teacher and is doing very well.

It is a beginers book

It teaches you notes and things about music.

Great series

Great book as is the series.

As advertised

Great set of piano books

The best set of books we have found

We bought these books at the prompting of a woman who was going to teach piano to our daughter. It turned out she was unable to teach her and the new teacher had never used these books. After going through level 1 books, we decided these books were very thorough and we liked how they progressed through teaching piano. We had a few other level. 2 books we planned to use, but they did not follow the same sequence of teaching, so we bought this series of books again. We really like the songs they use for the lessons and they provide many duets to play together. The duets are not only fun, but they sound really good! We included this book I. The level 2 books, but the entire set of books is a little too much to get through in a 45 min. Lesson, so we cut out the Performance book, sight reading and added in Classicss and Hymns

Variety

There is a variety of musical genres and that keeps my students interested and my teaching a lot more fun. The theory books in each level are easy to understand with a variety of activities that help the student to retain each musical concept.

Easy to use

Well laid out theory book - easy enough for a 12 year old boy to work through on his own.

Hard to beat

The whole Piano Adventures series is hard to beat if you want a really thorough and enjoyable method for young pianists. The 2A book is as good as the others. I have also found it useful for slightly older children (12 to 13) who are reluctant to practise. Often , if they have not put in the required work, at this age they can't play pieces interesting enough to satisfy their self esteem. But a book like this, with pieces that can be made to sound more showy than they actually are, enthusiasm returns.- and some practice at least, gets done.

Perfect for beginners who know absolutely nothing or very little and who want to teach themselves. Lovely songs that keep it interesting.

Piano Adventures Level 2A

This is a great series. Thorough and progresses nicely

Disappointed

This book was completely filled in. Supposed to be in a condition with light wear. Not accurate at all.

Glad they could use it

Got these for a piano student a long time ago. They did well with this series. Glad they could use it.

Great Series

Arrived on time and in perfect condition. Great series for piano students. I have used these from the beginning with my kids and find them very easy to follow. They have very nice songs, and have a diverse collection of music.

We love the Faber series

We love the Faber series, they give start up fingering for the first measure of each song in the lower levels. Faber starts to insert familiar tunes into the books which bolsters my younger daughter's interest in learning the tun.

Five Stars

My piano method of choice for years!

Should not have been sold

It’s a workbook that had all the answers written in. I know it’s used so I was expecting some answers, but every page was complete.

Good piano books at a great price.

Great piano book!

Great foundation for new learners to music

The Faber Piano Adventures are a good foundation for students, helping reinforce the basics in technique, performance, theory and musicianship. The theorybook works in conjunction with lesson, technique and performance books, but be aware that you are buying the same editions. I've had it happen before when I have bought the 2nd edition of the lesson book, but not theory and therefore had the corresponding pages not match up. Music is printed in relatively big print which is great for student and teacher!

My students seems to enjoy learning from this series better than things I've used previously!

I am a piano teacher and I really like this series. My students really enjoy the books, as well as the supplementary books that go along with it.

Keeps my students engaged and interested with fun songs they actually want to play

I've been teaching out of the Faber Piano Adventures series for years. Keeps my students engaged and interested with fun songs they actually want to play. This series helps build a good foundation of theory knowledge with a focus on chords.

I probably won't order it again. By the time ...

I probably won't order it again. By the time kids are at this level, I find they can handle a more intense theory book.

Love these!

We have been using these books for several years. State to state our piano teachers have recommended these.

It was exactly what we needed 1/2 of what they sell it for at the school.

We have enjoyed this series of instructional piano books but this copy was missing multiple pages. Unfortunately I didn't realize until the return date expired.

I want to by a book, even an old one, that my son can practice. You should not sell any book with full of written answers and completed assignments. It is ok to sell old books but it must be fulfill the need of buyers. You waste my time and I have to order a new book for my son!!! Rating: 1 Star

Exactly what it is shown

Great book for learning piano. Good series

Great book

Can't wait to learn and improve my piano skills. I am excited!

Definitely recommend...

This series was recommended by my teacher, and I can honestly say, they are all really great! Very easy to understand, perfect for someone only taking lessons once per week as you can work on your own even if you have only basic knowledge of music and then have your teacher review and correct.

Kids love it.

My favorite method.

Piano books

Glad to find this series of books in stock. We have struggles to find two good methods for two kids that are at the same level!

Good quality book

Its great for learning to play the piano ...love the book series

Great product for teaching kids piano, with fun exercise to engage and teach them about the piano. Very important as not to just provide them with sheets of music to play, but (like a math book) has simple and fun intro pages to explain what is to learnt and why for each stage ...as a way to self-teach yourself about the stages of learning to play the piano. Great product, recommend for kids (or adults) learning the piano.

Super Klavierschule

Easy to learn from.

My daughter is progressing through her lessons and improving daily! Much better than the a Royal Conservatory series that I learned from thirty (30) years ago. She can relate to the songs.

gute Klavierschule

Excellent curriculum

I’m a piano teacher and highly recommend this curriculum for beginner students! Fun and interactive. It keeps the students involved as well. I use it in my studio

Excellent method with colorful illustrations

A comprehensive and thorough piano method for beginning students. Colorful illustrations make these books fun!

Best price

arrived quickly and in perfect condition. This is the series that I teach from and find it to be most comprehensive and flows into the RCM music the best.

Fantastic learning piano series

My little girl has progressed so fast with these series. They are so fun and so easy to follow along with all the other supportive books, CDs etc. they also progress quite quickly. We love piano and this series of books really encourages a love of music. No boring songs here! Theory work is also made very fun for kids.
