Fantastic

Good characters, good progress, and a royal good time. This chapter does not disappoint or leave you wanting at all. It is a complete arc and a telling story where once again Wes adapts to his enemies and allies and plays the best role he can in insane situations. Read this series and cherish every book!

Another great one!

Another great book for the Challengers series! Alot more world building, a few different povs, alot of action, a bit more romance, and so much more!

Dance Magic Dance...

As the immortal lyrics of David Bowie above said there is Dancing and Magic and Dance Magic. There is also assassinations, poison, true love...... Ok that's the last of my 80s references. Great latest installment to my absolute favorite book series ever. Keep them coming Mr. Thompson. I love the balanced out look on the group dynamics. The respect Wes has for Stell and her satellites is truly beautiful. Some may call this a bridge book connecting 5 to 7, but there is substance as well as progression. Thank you for another great read.

I love the banter

I love the friendly teasing within Wes's retinue. I love the playful flirting with all of Stell's satellites. I love the familial dynamic between Wes and Val. I love Val's fangirling. I love Davelon's utter support of his best friend. I love Rachel being the smug know-it-all. And I love Teeth just continuing to be Teeth. It seems like the banter and interactions have only gotten better as the series goes on and Nathan Thompson perfects his craft. And now I am sad because I've finished this book and have to wait for the next one.

Love this series but I'm getting tired of how nothing significant happens

I want to give it a three, mostly because I dont like the multiple perspective shifts, especially when there are two or more within a chapter. I want to give it a three because even though "THINGS"(tm) happened, no actual qualitative new information was given in lore just lots of rumors, whispers, and vagueness. I even want to give it a three because #spoilers while he supposedly beats the bad guys and wins against cavus nothing actually changes #endspoilers. I should give it a five because it's still one of the most epic and well written fantasy muddles of various sub-genres, but I won't because I really am getting tired of the perspective shifts, the lore teasing, the two seconds after a big fight with an introduction to the next fight endings, and the dark icon's be damned wait for the next novel.

Nice

This book had a lot of character building between two of the main characters and while a lot was going on in the background there wasn't as much a world development as it has been in past books but still a great read

Getting a bit tiresome

I initially liked this series for its positive, can-do message, but after 6 books, the author's overbearing preachiness has started to wear on my nerves. He needs to stop overselling his message. And the dialog remains a problem, with all interactions sounding unnatural. There's one creepy thing about the book. The MC's romantic interest is one particular female, who happens to be split into a half dozen or more bodies. All of these other bodies have distinct personalities and they all have mutual sexual attraction with the MC, although given the author's poor talent with dialog, you'd only know it because they explicitly talk about it. One of the bodies is a fairy who has a child-like personality and the MC's attraction to her comes across as pedophilia-like. Yuck. Overall, there is a harem-like feel, even though there is no sex, just talking about sex in a vague way. I'm not sure I'll continue with the series.

Vert Good, another please

This was good and worth the wait. I want more and be damned if its not worth it. Keep up the fine work

New recipe, same great taste

First, a big thank you to the author for writing this series. I've been enjoying it since book 1 and his books have yet to disappoint. I think my favorite thing through all his novels is how real and alive his characters feel. They suffer, they grow, and they change in ways that keep me turning the pages to see what happens next. I'll also freely admit that I love how the author turns a phrase. I've lost count of the numbers of times I've smiled or laughed at the characters' witty banter, or reread a line just to appreciate it again. Looking forward to the next story!

Great addition to the series!

Really enjoyed this one. Great new world to explore, a new Stell to meet and new villains to overcome. Well written, good fight scenes, excellent character development, along with solid editing. Only complaint would be a few of the other viewpoints kind of broke the flow of the story for me, but not enough to affect the rating. Can't wait for the next book!!

Amazing

This is an amazing and breathtaking series and book. The author has made one captivating book after another, with so you would want to keep on reading. I love your work and hope for another one soon!

Finaly it took long enough but was worth the wait

Even with the problems of amazon sitting on this book for days I was happy to get my hands on it, I was kinda hopping for a bit more forward momentum on the relationship front that has lagged a bit too much, and this story seemed to drag on a bit in a few spots but over all it was a great read I look forward to the next book I just hope it doesn't take as long for the next exciting installment.

Amazing story

Nathan Thompsons writing just gets better with each book. He weaves facinating stories, with amazing characters that he breathes life into. This book keeps that alive and well, with a very well written and enthralling story

Loved it!

Couldnt put this book down just like the rest of the series. Just simply couldn't get enough of it! I can't wait to see how the story will continue in the next book.

Great book!!

This is a great continuation of the series. I can’t wait for the next one!!

Great work

Another well written and different style of fantasy. Not quite Lit but not as fantasy as you’d think. Main protagonists is now becoming more aware of own power so it getting good. Book 7 needs a rush

Another Awesome Addition

The world building is awesome and so is the character development. I always appreciate a book/series where there is real character growth and not just in the MC. I highly recommend the series.

Another hit

It felt like it took ages for book 6 to come out... and now I’ve finished it and must begin the wait ALL over again. Bah!

Great

One of the best series running today with harem elements. It's action packed and kinda litrpg but more natural and not quite specific.

Oh Hell Yeah!

Wow, this series just gets better and better, cant wait for the next! 10/10

Sooooo good!!

Absolutely love this series! The expressions of hope, perseverance, growth and love are powerful. I’m looking forward to the next installment in this wondrous story.

Loved every second!

Can't wait for the next book! This book kept me hooked the entire time I was reading it! Tried to sleep before I finished it but my mind wouldn't let me

Great

Love this series

Read it. You won’t be disappointed

This series gets better and better with every addition. I loved the new flow to this book. Highly recommend it. Wes is a boss and the Pit Knights added a whole new pucker factor to the enemy ranks.

It's Finally Here And As Good As I Remember It

I have been waiting for Book 6 to drop for months. I am ecstatic! If you like this series you'll love Knives in the Night. If you've never read the series start at Book 1.

Amazing

Despite the horrendous wait on Amazon's side, this was amazing as always. Nathan, man, you truly are great, and I'm looking forward to the next one and possibly trying to figure out what may happen next.

Great book in the series - but a change of pace

This was a great installment in the series - more cool magic and evil to be killed along with the other tropes that make this series unique. Where it differs from previous books however is in its pacing. There are more character perspective shifts that give the reader a closer connection to Wes’ allies and family without distracting from the main plot. Additionally, the resistance being placed before Wes is less complacent causing the macro progression of the series to slow considerably. While this change slows the overall pacing of the series considerably, it also brings greater depth to the world and more believability to the behavior of the antagonists. Lastly, this novel finally starts to answer some of the plot threads established earlier. Really looking forward to Wes losing restrictions and fully inheriting his draconic boons! Would highly suggest this novel to any who have read the series to this point and the first book to any who are here.

The Quality Hasn't Dropped a Bit

My favorite thing about both this series and the author is the consistency. If you liked the first book, you'll like the next. If you're like me and the previous books have felt better and better as Wes grows in power, the world expands, and characters get the progression and development they deserve, then no worries, this book has you covered. There are no drops in quality and the series continues its upward trend. God, do I love this series.

it's hands down great!!!

Love this book. Love every single one untill now. I'm only ever sad when they end. The biggest pet peave I have about this series? That there are so damn many other 5 star reviews that mine probably won't get read... I thought about posting a 1 star review just to get noticed since I'd be sure to be seen down where there is practically nobody else. But I want to see this book succeed so I'll give it what it deserves. 5 stars! And Nathan if you somehow do notice me among the masses of 5 star reviews, I am a big fan pal! You do have room to grow as a writer, but so does everyone. For such an amazing series to spring forth from a first time author is awe-inspiring. And good job with the speed wrighting as well, the rate of release is astounding. I declar of all the books I've read that this grand tale of Wes and his journey from rags to High King is my current Favorite!

Love, Love, Love it

This series has set such a high bar, I’m completely spoiled now. You are in a select and elite group of authors whose books I will literally drop anything for and need to read the latest installment. I’d give this 6 stars if I could, loved so much about it and even though it’s not remotely short, as per usual I feel like it ended too fast. Jus another sign of how great this series is, thanks for ending 2020 on a high note, can’t wait for more next year!! The cover was awesome too!

Great book in series.

My favorite series! I've been following the series on patron and was pleasantly caught off guard when there was no chapter last Friday. Excited to finally read the end!

Slow going, it gets lost in its exposition

I find myself skipping multiple pages at a time. I'd estimate that I skipped about 1/3 of the book because it didn't seem to add anything to the story. It gets lost in the same way that many LitRPG books do, it gets bogged down in game/combat/magic mechanics and reiterating strategy/tactics that are either obvious or repetitive. It sacrifices story/plot speed in favor of technical explanations. (although not nearly as badly as the Emerilia books - great world, great characters, great plot, terrible writing). I really like the characters, the snarky dialog, the arc of the story but it ends up feeling (to paraphrase the Beetlejuice script) like reading stereo instructions. Each volume seems to get more and more stuck in the mud this way. Please ease off on the game mechanics and strategy lectures and focus on where these books excel: characters, arc, dialog.

Challenge accepted

I have this conflicting desire for the series to be over and continue on forever. I love these stories and can't wait for the next one. To the point that I feel trapped, the only freedom would come from the book series being finished. If your looking for a book to escape reality for a bit this is an excellent choice.

Okay book.

I have been enjoying the series. This book has two issues though. The first is all the profanity. All the books in the series suffer from the same issue. All the cursing and swearing really distracts from the story. It's so vague and not original at all. Anyone can use profanity. Only someone that is creative can express themselves and portray feelings outrage and anger without resorting to profanity. The second issue that the story has is using less and less litrpg message. At the beginning every time the main character has a rise a mind screen message would be shown to discuss his new powers. Now it's not mentioned very often or even ignored. For those two reasons I have taken 2 stars away.

I hate to knock off a star but.... This isn't LitRPG anymore

Ok author. I love this series.. I do but the series isn't really a LitRPG anymore. You've proceeded to dump SOOO many stats, powerups, skill points, and abilities onto the MC even he can't keep track of them anymore let alone the reader. I honestly just started skipping over all the stat tables after book three. The numbers just keep going up, but they have absolutely no impact on anything anymore. The MC's fighting style hasn't changed, he hasn't tried anything new magic-wise, he hasn't combined any ideals, and he's used the same 'trick' with saga magic amplification since book 2. I hate to knock off a point because of something outside the plot, chars, or action, but things are honestly starting just to run together a bit. It might be time for the MC to back off the constant running and fighting for a book and consolidate some gains, do some crafting, talk to some people, and build up his kingdom a bit rather than charge-off to yet another world-ending catastrophe 20 mins after the last one.

You know what you get

If you've made it six books into the series, then you know what you're going to get at this point. The plot is the same as previous books and hits all of the same notes. If that's your thing, you'll love it, if not, then you probably won't. I could do with a bit more character development/change and some plot variation, but that's just me.

Another excellent entry in one of the best series of the genre

I could list dozens of reasons why I love this series and this book in particular. The writing is excellent, the world building is full of details and depth. But, the thing I love most, is that Wes, while he isn't perfect, he does learn from his mistakes and listens to his companions. So many great books in this genre suffer from characters that make stupid choices because it fits the authors plan for the plan, instead of shaping the character to support the plot while staying true to the core of the character. Mr. Thompson is excellent at it. So, read this book, review this book and tell your friends to read this book!

Worth reading

I discovered this series when there were only 3 books, read them aaaaaand the story was nowhere near complete. Went on to read many many other books, authors, and after a bit forgot about this series. I stumbled across it again, saw that there were 6 now, so re-read from the beginning, finished book 6, aaaand nowhere near complete. It's a good read. It has a lot of psychiatric feel good reaffirm self worth in it(sometimes a bit thick but it works) and while the character seems to get overpowered by leaps and bounds it not only works but has been a source of humor/irritation from characters in the book. But in my opinion it's time to wrap it up. Book 6 and this is as far as they've gotten we're looking at a 15-20 book series and I'm not sure how many more just discovered and just in time super powers and awfully lucky breaks the readers can take.

Will fall in love with this series

I love this series Soo much , even when I hate waiting for the next one, as an avad reader of scfi/fantasy and I have read a great many , there are two authors who I fill out this current time that I've come across are both just amazing this one being definitely one of them and I have to just put it up on par with you know the same kind of epic stories from Terry goodkind and Robert Jordan, keep writing and I'll keep reading love it, well if you books that make me actually cry happily and just amazing story

Awesome sequel

The author continues to grow the MC in this sequel of Challengers Call as well as those around him. A little less written about the minor characters in this book, which is a miss as they are fun to read about as they antagonize the MC. A great book and one of my favorite series.

Amazing

Nathan pulls off one of the most difficult plot transitions in LitRPG stories: the power creep. This book kicks the conflicts up to the next Risen Level by expertly scaling up the difficulty to match the protagonist's increased power without diluting either side of the conflict. I loved it and can't wait for more!

Good stuff

I liked the opening of new aspects of the story and explanation of some of the parts that seemed like tactical blunders in the first parts of the series. The only thing I'd like to see change are the satellite scenes. This improved slightly in this book from the previous two, but need more reworking to avoid being repetitive.

One of the best in the series

This series is so remarkable in how it reveals such deep truths about the human condition. It's funny, well-paced, and frankly, I think the magic systems in it are awesome. I love the depth of the world building, and I especially love the characters. Keep it up Nathan!

Why can't I ever find a book series that's already finished?

I couldn't put these books down. I love a good rags to riches story, although this book is now well beyond that portion of the MC's story. It's also probably the first story I've read with a polygamous relation between the main characters that seems actually feasible, because technically it's not. My only critique would be that the MC is probably too perfect, too good. He always knows the perfectly thing to say or do. He always prevails, which I guess is the point since that is literally his character. I would also like more world building, going into the history of the Expanse and its caretaker, in future books. Regardless, I thoroughly enjoy these books and would recommend these along with similar titles like Eric Ugland's "The Good Guys", "The Wings of War" by Bryce O'Connor, or "Reborn: Apocalypse" by LM Kerr. Please keep up the good work Nathan. I can't wait for the next one.

Beautiful addition.

Once again Nathan Thompson delivers a stunning addition to the world of Avalon. Exciting to see “you know what” progressing more. I am a huge fan of this series and recommend to all who will listen.

Books keep getting better

This entry didn’t have the action of previous novels, yet still shines the brightest in the series. The author duo, as I have to assume the wife provides ample input, captures their audience yet again. This novel both shows growth of the MC and supporting cast while teasing an immense breakthrough to come. Excited for the next book!

Another great read

I can honestly say this is my favirute series. One that tackles psychologically charged issues as well as action a magic systems tied to a cultivation system as well. Latest installment had me up all night reading it. Thank you kind sir for another great book.

More winning

Another fantastic entry by Nathan. I disliked the massive increase of F-bombs. It feels like the series started closer to one of the best YA series out there, and shifted in this book to be a great mature novel. Which is sad because I was planning on reading it with my kids. Some amazing ideas here for youth to consider.

Best work yet!

This one blows the last few away, maybe we all need a little more hope in these tryong times, but this book I'll whole heartedly reccomend to anyone who loves fantasy, and anyone struggling to find a little light in their life right now.

Keeps getting better

Very interesting take on the fantasy genre. The main character is flawed but you get to watch him grow and overcome obstacles in numerous ways. The story arc is fantastic. It’s really hard to put down. There is even some Arthurian legend for anyone who geeks out on that like I do!

Excellent addition to the series.

Progress is made, new enemies appear and Wes becomes more comfortable with his powers and what he needs to do. Meaty addition that satisfies and ends well - but opens up interesting possibilities for the future series. Recommended author and series!

Again

Amazing ending; great plot twists. Do not wait to download this book. If you have come this far, it only gets better.

Another good one

This book continues the personal growth of Wes as well as further developments in his team and family. We also met additional protagonists in an action packed volume. These books have become better it’s each installment and I’m looking forward to the next one.

Must Read

I have read all the books in this series and can honestly say this is my favorite series so far from about 37 other series I have read. These books are so hard to put down I feel like I’m immersed in them. The flood of emotion that you go through as you read these books is awesome one minute your angry at what happens and then full of joy when they overcome their adversity and “Rise” also I laughed out loud so many times with the comedy that is so expertly woven throughout these books. I would completely recommend this series and will read it again also can’t wait for the next book!!!

Wonderful!, but short

I am a big fan of this book series, and have read every book multiple times. I loved this book a lot, but I feel less happened within this book than normal. I can't wait until the next book is published! Mr. Thompson, if you're reading this, please hurry!

Another good one

Honestly if you liked the previous installments you'll like this one. Looking forward to the next book.

Enjoyable

I’m really enjoying the series. I’m glad that Stell is finally being less of an idiot now as conquering her fear and denial. The dance magic is a bit light on the explanation of it’s power. I’m looking forward to seeing how Chris and the new antagonist develop.

Fantastic

This one was my favorite one yet. West and Stella's relationship blossoming is beautiful to watch. And Breena's understanding of male libido is hilarious.

Really good book

I really liked book 6, book 5 for me wasn't quite as good as the earlier ones but this book I thought was great and am looking forward to the next one. I also just read his soulship series which I think is actually better than Challengers call.

Amazing

Besides tha cases of insomnia I get till im done reading this author's books I have nothing but praise for his works The story is still amazing in its 6th book not many others can pull that off looking forward to the next book.

One of the best

Love the series and I am so happy to see it is still going strong. Love how you balance it all! Keep up the excellent work!

Another great addition to the series

This series hits all of the right buttons. Magic system that is well thought out and reasonable. Character development is focused on believable accomplishments overcoming challenges that reinforce the characters motives and beliefs. Write faster please.

Another Great Episode

Loved the latest book. The only thing I wish is that we continued with the (1) book per planet outline that was set previously. Spoiler.... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Ends with an unresolved planet and barely any Avalon advancement.

Change of Pace

The pattern breaks, leaving a book about guerilla warfare instead of fantasy questing. The new characters shine, the new challenges are interesting, and the expanded lore and high-level power make me excited for future volumes.

Amazing

Nathan Thompson challenger series is one of my favorites. I appreciate the constant progression of his writing and the positive influence his characters progress into. Thank you for your work.

Unbelievable

The book was so good. Like always a must read. I love these books so much and I’m an dreading the wait for the next one. So good. The teeth banter was so good a funny. I found myself laughing so much.

Supporting a good author

This guy deserves good reviews cause he writes great books. They are like self help books set in a fictional litrpg setting.

I'm as impatient as Teeth for the next book

What can I say? I am every bit as into this book as the rest. This story just keeps going and I love every minute of it. One of my all time favorite series already and this book continues to make me wish I could immediately move on to book 7.

Worth It

As good as the previous books in the series! Can’t wait for the next one.

Well written addition to the series

Story flowed really well and was extremely enjoyable. Liked the new takes on the alter personality of Stell. Loved the humor about the MC's inner dragon.

As usual...

As usual... THIS BOOK IS AWESOME!!! Characters are relatable, evil bad guys are hateable and the complexity of the world and magic system is well thought out. My only problem with this book is it is way to short. 10/10 will read again

Excellent book

Excellent example of world building in a LitRPG book. This entire series has been unexpectedly good -- it has really exceeded expectations.

Another Amazing One!

Action filled with lots laughs. Can't help but love our adventurers. Honestly think Breena is the best, lol. Excited for the next one!

Excellent

This writer's work keeps impressing me. His stories are fun entertaining and we'll written. His editor's do a great job no typos and wrong names in places. Breena is hilarious.

Another great chapter in the tale of Wes Malcolm.

This book kicks off Wes' campaign to retake the Golden Sands. He meet enemy and friends both old and new. It's a wild ride but at least he stocked up on cookies to keep is fairly some what pacified every time he goes and breaks this worlds magic system again.

Fantastic book

Loved it, great writing. This book was a great effort to further the plot and develop the characters. Cant wait to see the next book

Glorious

Another thrilling continuation of a beautiful, life changing, story. This series has helped pull me back from my darkness. Please read the book and let it help soothe the shame and lies that keep you from seeing your victories.

GREAT

Thi1s whole series is one of the best gripping seri1es that I have read. The flow is great. Your imagination is outstanding. I long to see what you are going to write next. Thank you for such a breath taking series

Great Read

Another great book in this series that advances the storyline while keeping the characters interesting and revealing more of who She'll is.

Amazing as usual

Fantastic book and a great read. I always enjoy this series and wait with baited breath for the next book.

Up and down

Not my favorite of the series but was still good. Will be looking forward to when the next one comes.

One of my all time favorite series

Another that was knocked out of the park by Nathan Thompson. I’ve been super impressed by every book in the series and how they have the best balance of plot, action, character development, etc. on top of that, there’s just something inspiring about the main character and the way he approaches things and challenges faced. Love it.

Fun

Once again this series has left me content and feeling like it still wasn't enough. I can't wait for the next installment.

Great addition to the series

Love this entire series and this is an awesome addition to it. It is fun to watch the relationships continue to develop and unfold.

Found by accident

One of the best series I have read. I found the first book by accident on Audible while trying to find something to listen to while at work. After that I could not read the feast of them fast enough.

Excellent as always

Compelling characters and story with a great message. Nathan's books never fail to delight and I eagerly await the next book in each series.

Great series

This fantastic as are all the books in this series. I can not wait for the next one to release.

Fantastic read

Another great addition to an amazing series

The worthy hero gets the dance

Great read. Too short. Need more story. Keep writing. Like to have my heroes and this story delivers. Soul food

Great series

If you enjoy this series, be sure to read his soul ship series too. Both build well from book to book

A great lit rpg series

Great series, hard to put down once you start reading. If you enjoy fantasy and/or gaming, this book is for you.

Another great entry in the series!

Knives in the Night has been a refreshing break from the more standard flow of the previous Challenger's Call books.

Can't wait for book 7

A great instalment in the challengers call series can't wait for more. Until then I may have to reread the series again

Excellent continuation

I don’t know what to say, ya did it again. I especially love the snappy phrases that the Mc says when he gets mad. But overall really well written. Though, I’m sensing a little layer of plot armor on our hero here.... I wonder where he got that from?

Great continuation!

I can’t wait for the next book! My only regret is that this one wasn’t longer. Really love the series!!

One of the best Series I Have ever read

The message hidden in these books just blows me away and I love the simple breakdown of the complex situation in the book. Plus the comedy between Wes and his allies is hysterical, so I'm really looking forward to the next book.

Awesome

Love this author and this series. He finds good ways too keep things interesting without forcing the ideas into the world. His books all flow together.

Excellent Entry

Outstanding. Nathan continues to grow and his books continue to shine. Dialogue was well paced, combat was thrilling.

Good clean litrpg

Good book enough additions to make it interesting and not repetitive and the humor is the best part. Would recommend.

Absolutely loved this book very well written and very captivating! I honestly cant wait to read the next book! Please hurry!

Amazing

I’ve reread this series countless times and I probably will reread again. Just can’t get enough of this amazing series

Great

Great book. Good character development. Can't wait for the next one. Good character development. Can't wait for the next one.

Loved all of it with every fiber of my being

Its such a good series. I cannot wait for the next book. 10/10 everyone should read this series... And push.

Excellent book

Another great book from the wonderful imagination of a fantastic author I am greatly looking forward to the next one

Great read!

This is a wonderful series. I have enjoyed each and every book so far and can't wait for the next book to be released!!!

Great Book

This is the sixth book in the series and was pretty good at moving the story along.I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

Excellent!

Fantastic read! I absolutely loved it! I can not wait for the next one to be release! Such great characters in this book!

Worth it again

Just like the previous books in this series, my only complaint (totally unjustified) is that I can't simply skip forward a year or two so I can read the series all at once. I'm also assuming that, due to the way this book ended, the next one will probably come out slightly faster, as our hero still has quite a bit to take care of in the Golden Sands -- which means no additional time spent on setting the stage for a new world *quite* yet. (I could also be completely wrong, but a guy can dream.)

Glory answers glory

As we keep diving deeper into the tale of Wes and the starsown he loves. Nathan Thompson gives us a great tale of desert warfare and finding beauty in the darkness. Honestly if your here at book 6 you know the score. Each book our author continues to improve and this effort is no different. Read it. Crown it. And write love on their arms.

Need More

Wow! Stakes are higher and things are getting more complicated. The challenges in the Golden Sands really differentiated it from the two previous worlds and I loved the tension and suspense presented throughout the book. And I love Anahita; her self-assurance and confidence was refreshing to read. Can't wait for the next.

SO GOOOOD

I absolutely love this series and I’m so glad to have read this. I’m glad that Stell and all the satellites are better responding to miss and watching them grow is amazing. I’m so looking forward to the next book!

EPIC

Loved it, perfect addition to a fantastic series

You know its great if youre this deep.

If you're reading reviews for this book you should know what to expect at this point. This book continues to set a high standard so just go ahead and read it.

Great book!

This follows the templates of most of his other books except Wes doesn't quite finushinsh the world by the end of the book. The the new satellite that he meets is great and the enemy finally starts taking him seriously

Great yet again!

Awesome action scenes, great story with lots of character growth. Continues to have a great message of personal growth and what it means to be a king. I can’t wait for the next one!

6 books in and still just as much fun

Had a blast reading this in a little over 6 hours, could barely put it down. I've really liked this series ever since the I read the second book (I thought the first was kind of a slog at times, just get through it, you'll thank me), and this one doesn't disappoint. About the only complaint I have is that I hope the author continues to keep things moving in the next installments, I'd hate for the series to get bogged down the further we get.

Great book

Stellar work once again from Nathan Thompson! Lots of action and adventure, magic and twisted beasts. Looking forward to the next one!

A good counter to dark fantasy

There are so many stories with a dark brooding mc that restricts himself to a role or ideal from fear. This story shows that fear of stepping up is not the only option. We can look for a chance to be a better version of ourselves. Book 6 takes this full circle and I am glad I read it.
