Jolly Phonics Picture Flashcards (in Print Letters)

These cards were exactly what I was looking for to help review the phonics sounds with my little ones. The cards, however, are not the same size as the outside box so the reference to the size isn't quite accurate in the photo display. The cards themselves are about 4x6.

An awesome way for children to identify and learn letter sounds through movement!!

Good quality cards.

each card is about the same size/length as a hand (approx: 7 inches). It has all the alphabet phonics with appropriate pictures. Has double vowel blends and some commonly used consonant blends. I teach online to young children and found them very useful. All lower case letters.

Many parents teach their kids the alphabet rather than letter sounds. These cards focus on letter sounds and allow kids to blend lettters to make simple words. If you want to teach your kids at home, teach both the alphabet and letter sounds and the transition from letter recognition to reading will be smoother.

Lovely big cards perfect for those learning letter recognition. A nice size for small hands and not easy to damage. Only gripe would be I wish they came in a more durable storage box as the flimsy cardboard one wont last long!

I have used Jolly Phonics as a primary school teacher and a Grandma and found them to be excellent! I got this pack for my son to help his Japanese girlfriend learn English before their visit here this year. I'm told she's improving massively with them already!

Does not match up to the jolly phonics visual pictures on YouTube etc that the kids would initially learn apart from a few. My son has been learning the actions of d for drum for example or t for tennis however the cards have a picture of a dog and not drums or turtle which I bought to supplement the video learning that he had been doing and could have easily bought any other flash cards as these do not relate to visual sounds. Apart from that the cards are large and quite robust which is good. Overall a hit and miss with my little one.

my granddaughter loved learning this way. We used them to play a game which she thoroughly enjoyed but was also teaching her at the same time. Would recommend

It’s fantastic for my son to learn at home. He is very interested in mix up the letters to make a new word... great help for parents to work with your kids when they start to learn phonics at nursery or P1 ... strongly recommend it...

My son is in reception and loves doing these. He struggles to stay focused on books so these are brilliant to get him reading as can do and a few a night or all of he wants

As a parent who didn’t learn phonics this way it is a great set of cards to use to help your child learn the spelling and sounds that different phrases make!

A little bigger than I expected but very good for helping your child with phonics. Good for using in the car (ie not the driver!) if on a long drive etc.

Excellent double sided card. Clear phoneme on one side and piture with phoneme on ther other. Excellent resource for aiding teaching of reading at any age.

I sent these out to New Zealand as my daughter in law teachers out there and can't get them. Lovely cards.

Bought these flash cards to accompany the Jolly Phonics book. They work really well in conjuction. My 3 year old is very keen on learning to read and by just reading the Jolly Phonics book and flashcards with her (when she asks) she has already picked up 15 letter sounds and often points them out in her daily life.

This book will complete the full set (one was missing from a gift). Exactly as described.

The product itself is absolutely fine, however I ordered the pre-cursive format for a specific reason and recieved the print letter format. I can still make use if them but I am now still looking for suitable pre-cursive letter flashcards. Disappointed as i didn't recieve what was advertised.

Love these and they were great value for money

The picture describes the product size as 21cms, however, there are two sets of cards inside the box side by side and therefore each card measures only 14 x 10cms. Would be difficult to show in the classroom due to the size of the cards.

I bought this for my daughter to help with her phonics. She likes it very much and even her sister like it.

They won't even know they are learning.

The cards are good quality. Large, sturdy. However, I was sent multiples of half the cards and am missing the other half. Some kind of error packing. Will return :/

they would have been better if the Q and the X were in the pack as well. never mind we had to make our own wasn't worth sending them back

Muy contenta. Están hechas de cartón durísimo. No son de cartulina plastificada por lo que se pueden conservar muchísimo mejor. Los colores y las imagenes me encantaron. El vocabulario avanzado y me sirve perfectamente para lo que lo quiero usar que es para enseñar a leer a mis alumnos con este método.

I teach English as a foreign language to pre-school and primary children in Spain. Although the children can become very successful at reading words aloud correctly, it's not much use if they don't understand the meaning of those words. That's why I like these flash cards: the children broaden their vocabulary and begin to better understand what they're reading. They're sturdy, too, so they can withstand being manhandled by the students quite well.

Flashcards are considerably bigger than I thought. They are printed on very heavy duty board, and are more like a thin, sturdy board. They are definitely not cardstock, but much more durable. Although they are durable, I did decide to laminate them (5 mil.), as I homeschool, and have 5 children who will be using them. I didn't want to have to worry about them getting stained, bent or wet, so it was an easy decision. I also did cut the size down, but only because I decided to store them in a photo keeper. I organized them with word cards (Learning/Unlearned/Mastered that I also laminated. I purchased the photo keep with 6 individual cases, put the flashcards in 3 of them and then left one empty photo case behind each set, so that they would go into the "mastered" photo case. It wonderfully worked out and I think it's a great deal! Well worth the money and time I spent on them. These would do in a classroom for my whole life, I am certain! Thanks for a wonderful product! :-)

I like the picture with dots for each sound. Some of my students need the phonemic skills more before moving on to sound symbols.

These flash cards are lovely and large and the pictures are simple and clear. The quality of the card is also great. My son, who loves books, is 3.5 and to be honest he isn't overly bothered in using these cards with me and I don't want to push it, but I will keep pulling them out every now and again to see if the situation changes. I've popped some photos on for you to get a better idea of the size.

The cards are much bigger and more sturdy than you expect - built to survive schoolroom conditions no doubt, and ideal flash cards. Having the letter pairs as well as the individual letters is also great, as of course is the tie-in with the video series on YouTube.

Fantastic cards, bigger than 'normal' ones. Best thing is that they contain all the different jolly phonic sound variations, as I have previously bought three other phonics cards but they still weren't as good. They have alphabet a-z. Well recommended to all. I would say for Y R class or age 4-5 years.

These are excellent quality, nice and thick and very large. The leaflet explains a method of building up the sounds, then words and syllables. I was able to rapidly establish the level of learning of my daughter and can work my way through the cards repeatedly with her as a game. I'm pleased with the purchase.

Perfect for teaching my 4 year old on how to do phonetics, but the only gripe I have is that one of the phoneme's is missing which is a shame.

I would have given 5 stars but I got two Y's one correct one and one Y with the wordfly under it and the pack was missing a Q! I couldn't return as I didn't start using them with my son for a couple of months after purchase so too late to return!

Nice size cards and good quality! I've just started using it with my 3 year old and she's really taking interest!

Despite purchasing in January we've only just started using them and I've been disappointed to discover missing phonemes and replicas of others which is a real shame.

My little girl enjoys playing with these, and learns while having fun!
