Honor and Defend

Lynette Eason is the author of Honor and Defend, the fourth book in the Rookie K-9 Unit continuity. The rookie we get to know this time is Ellen Foxcroft. She is from Desert Valley, rich, wants to leave her controlling mother behind and once dated Lee Earnshaw. Lee is also from Desert Valley, from the wrong side of town according to Ellen’s mother and just recently released from prison for a crime he didn’t commit. One thing that they both have in common is that the both love dogs. Ellen is putting her money to good use by training dogs to aid people with different kinds of disabilities and hires Lee to help her. On the way back from picking up three dogs Lee and Ellen are shot at. The main story in this book moves along quickly and there are a couple of surprises. The characters are strong and likable. There will be a few more clue about the story that flows through the continuity. I liked this story and have enjoyed all of the books in the continuity so far. I would recommend it to anyone that likes suspense stories in a continuity format.

Fabulous!

Sweet yet well paced

This next installment of the K9 rookies unit is well written and suspenseful. It keeps you guessing who is really the murderer from the original book while capturing your attention about the latest crimes. Lee was released from prison just a few weeks before this story begins. He was framed and found guilty of murder, courtesy of a mentally unbalanced dirty cop. His innocence has been established. Now he's back in his home town and working with his former sweetheart Ellen. Ellen is rich, a rookie K9 cop trying to break free of her overbearing mother and the sponsor of a new facility for training assistance service dogs. The continuing mystery around a spate of murders continues. One of the victims was Lee's sister. Lee and Ellen have a lot of history to work through and get past. But their attraction to each other scares them both. How they realize their true feelings is a sweet yet nerve racking scenario. Well worth the read.

Protect Those Pups

I enjoyed this story about an ex-convict and a police officer working together. The police officer works in the K-9 unit and has also started a training center for service animals for the disabled that she runs on the side. Why would she hire an ex-con to work for her? Can she trust him? Obviously, she believes she can and is determined to protect him when someone starts shooting at them as they are delivering some puppies for the Prison Pups program where Lee had been incarcerated only a few months before. The attack comes on suddenly and viciously. Is there any way that they can get out of this situation alive? Or will this end with two more deaths in a string of unsolved crimes over the past several years. One of those involved the murder of Lee’s own sister. The stakes are high but the police are having a major problem tying any of the crimes together, or even finding any clues to help locate the perps and bring them to justice. One of the most puzzling aspects is that there has been a series of break-ins but nothing has been taken. Suspense runs high as the attacks escalate, while the police feel everything is spinning out of control. I especially liked the action involving the dogs. They made the story much more exciting.

Ellen Foxcroft started an assistance program for training animals for disability patients. She had been in love with Lee in high school and wanted to help him start over. Lee always had a way with dogs and hada dog training business before prison. Fresh out of prison a ex-con tries to kill Lee and Ellen. In a fight for their lives and investigating he reason the stumble onto a much more involved plot.

Lost loves reunited

This is the fourth in a series of books about rookie K-9 officers in a small town in Arizona. Although a series, the book can be read as a stand alone. In this series, a class of rookie K-9 cops is keep in the town in which they trained due to a series of unsolved murders. A wealthy resident is funding their stay until the murders are solved. An added perk for the resident is that one of the rookies is her daughter, Ellen, whom she wishes would stay in her hometown but who wants desperately to leave to get out from under her mother's control. This book is about Ellen. Ellen's high school love, Lee, (who was run off by the mother during high school ) was framed for a crime he didn't commit by a dirty cop and served two years before evidence came to light that freed him. Before he was incarcerated, he had a successful dog breeding and training business and was saving money to become a vet. Ellen has used some of her trust fund to set up a program to train service dogs. It is growing by leaps and bounds and so Lee takes a job working for Ellen. A series of events during which their lives are in danger leads them to reexamine the feelings they had (still have) for each other. Nice continuation of the series but, again, could be read as a standalone.

LOVED IT!

I swear I'm addicted to this series of books. I can't seem to get enough of them. About the time I finish one I'm ready to start the next one.

Very good story in a good series of books

Character creation is very good. Easy to start caring about these characters. Great lesson of the importance of forgiveness. Showing how we all have a choice, live as a victim or victorious.

Together forever

The author captures your imagination and runs with it happily to the end. The plot was well done and the future is remarkable.

A 20+ star book! Loved it! I can highly recommend the whole Rookie K-9 Series! I love all the Love Inspired Suspense Books and I know you will to if you give them a chance. This book had suspense, romance, angst and of course, a HEA ending.

Wonderful

I loved every second of this exiting and touching book. It was romantic, suspenseful, and inspirational. I can't wait to read the next book.

WOW!!!!

This book has everything I enjoy, romance, God, mystery and dogs. It was a really good read. I especially enjoyed the antics of Dash.

Great read

This was exciting! I enjoyed the positive attitude of the characters involved. Being able for them to understand and make the decisions of the right or wrong way to go.

Five Stars

excellent

Honor

I liked the heroine as a k9 officer and the hero as her high school sweetheart. I did not like the hero framed and in prison

I love dog and mystery stories

Held my breath a lot through this book. The people in this book are very loveable characters. And great K9 owners to do their jobs.
