If your looking for more information about the Halo universe, this is the book to get! Ever since I played Halo 2 I was hooked to its story. And I wanted to know more about their earth, how the Spartans came to be, how did the Covenant start, what types of armor etc. The list goes on. I've played all the games ( except ODST didn't care for it much) and was smitten with Halo 4. Now this book only goes up to Halo: Reach which should be expected because this book came out during that game so. The pictures are beautiful! one picture in particular took my breath away which consisted of Master Chief and Arbiter. Either way, if your in love with Halo and need to get a fix, this book needs to be on your shelf NOW!

This is a must have for any crazy Halo fan like me. I can't get enough Halo. I love the store have all the books art work, and buy as much Halo things as I can. This item is amazing! When I got it in the mail, it was actually bigger and heavier than I originally expected. The artwork is amazing and the text isn't hard to read at all. If you have read any of the novels, it mainly connects the novels to the game series and clears up any questions that you may have about the saga. I did think it was very short for an encyclopedia. If you really want to know everything about Halo from this book, you can literally sit and read the whole thing from beginning to end in about 2 hours. Well worth the money and I hope they continue to update as more Halo games are released!

I bought this for my nephew for Xmas. He's a big Halo fan so I thought it would be something he might pick up later in the day once things calmed down and he'd played some of his new Xbox games. Boy, was I wrong! He sat in the corner with this book for almost an hour and had to almost be dragged back to open more presents. The graphics/artwork in the book are so gorgeous, I even bought one for myself once I saw his.

It contains a huge amount of information about the characters, vehicles, weapons, etc. in the games and it also tells you different things like nicknames and special units. He noticed that there were some things in the book that never made it to the games, etc. He was so excited she was shaking t how AWESOME this book was.

I bought this for my 11 year old grandson and he "loved it". He spends hours pouring over the bright covered pictures and learning everything "Halo". It is a big heavy book. The illustrations and pictures and very good and paper quality is excellent. I would recommend to anyone looking for a special gift for some one who enjoys this game.

Wish I could write more about this book but I didn't read it aside from a quick glimpse inside which would seem to confirm what others were saying about the beautiful artwork.. It's great that they fixed all the major errors from the first edition of the encyclopedia and replaced a lot of the images with better quality ones from Reach. But there still seems to be a lack of effort in some areas. My big problem with the book is that the info was not thoroughly updated. I noticed the ship section in particular does not include any of the ships or ship classes introduced in Reach except for the Sabre and that space station, which are on new pages. No Night of Solace, UNSC Savannah, or any of those listed anywhere in the book as far as I can see. For whatever reason, they left out a number of the Covenant weapons from Reach as well. I also noticed that i343 seems to be entirely ignoring the revelations in Greg Bear's Forerunner Saga. I'd still say it's a pretty good reference book and more or less worth getting at Amazon's price if you're a Halo fan, more so if you haven't purchased the previous edition.

So I got this for my boyfriend as a gift and he loved it. It was full page wonderful art, amazing color, as well as in depth detailed information about pretty much everyone and everything in the HALO Universe up until the point it was published.

Bought this as a gift for a friend. Both of us are big fans of the series. Makes an excellent coffee table book. Very big, nice illustrations and information that was new to me. I bought this as a gift for my nephew. He's been obsessed with anything halo for a for years. Instead of buying him another halo lego set or action figure, I opted for this and the new halo dvd. He loved them both and spent hours showing grandpa the back stories to his favorite characters.

Let's start with the bad. - waiting for the next installment :p Seriously though, best bit of scifi I have read in a long time. Characters are very well developed and the universe left me craving more. Do yourself a Favour and grab this book, I promise you'll struggle to put it down till the end.

Got this as a present for my son's birthday. He loved it.. However, I'm not happy with the gift wrapped that I had purchased with it... Being around the holiday season, thought I should have it wrapped so I'll have 1 less thing to worry about. The book arrived in time, unfortunately, the wrapping itself didn't make it in 1 piece. There's a huge tear at one end which I had to fix by putting a bunch of tape! Think twice about getting this option.

This was an awesome find. I bought it as a Christmas present for my son who is big into HALO. The only complaint is the overuse of game graphics, I would have thought they could have used alot more traditional artwork.

The book was transported to me on time and I was really excited to open it and I notice it was not in a box or something that could keep it from being damaged, so I worryed about that and I was right to worry. I opened it and the hard cover was really damaged and the book itself was also little damage. But for a $30 to $40 book I expected to have atleast a almost perfect if not perfect book, but it was damaged and dented in on some sides. I am not happy at all with how the book looks and I will not buy another book from this company again. But the book itself is really full of good facts so just for me the shipping well, sucked. So buy on your own risk of maybe having a damaged book. If you don't care about the books looks then get it, but if you like books looking new or nice then may want to just go to a store and buy it.

the original edition of the encyclopedia had a few well known issues. issues I'm pleased to note were resolved here with this expanded edition. covers the gamut of the various halo media, from the books to the games, sadly not the music though... a word of clarification for those looking to purchase this and looking at photos of it. the dust jacket that comes with this book?(a surprise I wasnt expecting for either edition) has a metallic coloration... so do not be alarmed when the colors look off with a teal tint.. thats the metallic aspect, which doesnt tend to photograph well in my experience, and should in no way detract from your consideration of this product. as to the content... I'm still slowly working my way through this even months after I purchased it, so theres content a plenty for the reader. worth the purchase.

The Halo Encyclopedia is a great collection of facts of the Halo Universe from the first game up until Halo Wars. It goes into great detail about people, ships, planets and almost every other aspect of the universe. This book is a great way for people to learn more about Halo, for the casual player who wants to know more, to the hardcore detail oriented people. However, there are a great number of errors in the Encyclopedia, many of which even a casual fan will notice. Often these errors are simply mislabeling the top of a starship as the bottom, or labeling the front of a vehicle as the back. However, some of the errors are more serious. For example, the Encyclopedia states the Miranda Keyes was killed by the Brutes guarding the Prophet of Truth, when in fact it was Truth himself who killed her. There are other such errors in the book. I felt that the number of errors was disappointing for a book that claims to be the "Definitive Guide" of the Halo universe. Overall, it is a great collection of Halo facts and trivia, but anyone who buys it should be careful about the errors and fact check some of the contents of the book. I enjoy reading it to this day, and update it regularly with new information, but as a heavy Halo fan, the errors were a slight turn off.

This encyclopedia is very detailed and well made. Bear in mind that this edition doesn't contain information regarding halo 4 because it's prior to that. A must have for the halo universe fans.

Very good work of art. High quality images and info. The top of the tops. It's what i'm looking for as I work in a number of Halo projects from helmets to armors inclunding weapons. It's my bible.
