The book has changed. I am old.
"Back in my day..." the Guinness Book of World Records used to be more of a reference guide and had lists of records. This latest edition that I got for my kids seems to be more of a kids picture book with captions. Sometimes, the records are hard to find on the page because they are buried in with other information. Also, there seems to be an unexpected tie with Legos - there are several large pictures with Lego creations that don't necessarily have a strong correlation to the world records on the page. Maybe I didn't read the description....
Book ripped apart
I bought this book as a Valentine's gift to my son. He has wanted this book for a while. The contents of the book is great. The book itself is horrible. My son is 11. He takes care of his books. He has big marvel and DC encyclopedias that he has had for at least 5 years in like new condition. This book did not last a week. The whole thing came apart. I would like a replacement ASAP

this version is really for kids. i recall reading a more detailed version when i was a kid. i guess times have changed. i did get this for my 5 year old child and he enjoys it a lot so that is what matters.

I bought this for a Christmas gift for my grandson. I thumbed through the pages before wrapping and was really interested in the content. I was surprised a 10 yr old wanted this book but he does have a curiosity about everything.

I ordered this book for my brother for a Christmas gift, 2019. He loved looking at the facts and would read it over and over. He passed away in April this year, 2020 but I have the book at my house because that's the last place he looked at it. Thanks for bringing some joy into his life.
A fun Christmas tradition
World record books are a bit of a teen Christmas tradition in our family. I ordered this for our aunt to give to my teen, and the book was colorful, interesting, and just enough weird in a good way to keep people entertained at the party.
Fun to reference
Enjoying the book. My 4-Star rating as opposed to 5, is that in the attempt to make the book more 'Flashy', the layout (pictures...etc), is a little cumbersome - that is there are too many pictures and such and it becomes hard to navigate. A good book none the less.

Not as Good as the Old Hardbacks
The book has colorful pictures and is cramped with details. The bulk is on human records. . Personally, I prefer the old hardback publications. More pages and pictures were devoted to nature, outer space, geography, geology, science, and other non-human endeavors.

Every year I get my son (now age 12) an updated Gusiness Book of World Records and every year I think the adults get more use out of it than the kids :). Always a fun way to entertain yourself and those around you by sharing fun and quirky records that have been set. We always learn something new and fun each time we open this book.

Looks like a commercial for Lego Terrible layout. Super small fonts. Once a brand I enjoyed as a kid. Today it’s taking its last breath trying to squeeze the money lemon just abit further. Don’t buy it. It’s dissapointing.

Fell Apart at the Seams
My son loves the book but the binding came apart within a week. Very disappointed. He donated it to his school library for his birthday and was the first to check it out. Upon bringing it home, the binding had completely fallen apart.

This year the booked arrived dried out and coming off of the binding. Very disappointed and grandson would not let me take it back and replace. Would not recommend. Next time I buy in store where I can see the condition.
