This is an ALL-NEW, full-color second edition. The new book is spiral bound with a thick, durable cover. It's been expanded to 100 trails, including 43 new trails not in the previous edition. Whether you're a newcomer to 4-wheeling or an experienced veteran, we guarantee you'll have fun. Trails include desert and mountain areas, many close to Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff. In addition, we've added more trails around stunning Sedona. Featured new trails in other parts of Arizona include Canyon de Chelly, Monument Valley and El Camino del Diablo. Easy, moderate and difficult routes are color coded, while symbols quickly show kinds of vehicles allowed on each trail. This includes unlicensed UTVs, ATVs and dirt bikes. A separate mileage log ties numbered locations along the route to a custom map featuring a detailed relief background. GPS coordinates are built into the mileage log so you no longer need to flip to the back of the book. Every trail is layed out in a convenient two-page spread with directions right next to the map. Included are reverse mileages for all trails and more historical highlights. A free PDF sample of the book can be downloaded from the publishers Website at FunTreks.com. Please note that the previous black & white edition is now out of print.

Great information

Off roading

Good reference book

Good book for exploring the backroads of AZ. Some of the green/easy trips are rougher than we expected. Some directions could be a little better.

Helps

Love this book accurate with the recent trails.

Great book -- but keep it out of the rain.

This is a great book and if you're considering traveling back country in Arizona it's a must. I give it 4 stars though because it falls apart if it gets wet. I explore the hinterland on a dual-sport motorcycle and got caught out in a light drizzle on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Not having a navigator I had to pull out the book from time to time to check my route in the labyrinth of BLM and Forest Service roads I was traversing. By the time I got home the book was a mess with dozens of pages stuck together which I couldn't separate without tearing them. This won't be a problem for your enclosed 4-wheeler but if you drive an open chassis or ATV, let alone a motor cycle like me you'll need to be careful. I'll probably end up buying a second copy of the book (it's that good) but scanning and reprinting the pages before my trips so that it lasts more than a single outing. I wish that they offered a PDF version.

my odometer and the book's trail markers might be a couple of miles off but this is just a minor detail and easily worked around

This is a must have if you want to go trail riding in Arizona. I bring it on every trip when I go out riding. One issue, I don't know if it is my machine or what but the trail mileages don't line up perfectly and by the end of the trail, my odometer and the book's trail markers might be a couple of miles off but this is just a minor detail and easily worked around. Another thing, and this is the risk of dated publishing guides, some of the trails have been changed or segments closed, so be flexible when out on the trails. I do recommend buying the GPS data card that goes with this book. It has all of the trails and loaded without issue into my Garmin Nuvi.

Great book for anyone wanting to go off road

Trails are rated easy to difficult and the binding problem plagued in early edition has been fixed. What is really nice about Wells' style is trails are grouped into zones with color rated trails and inviting colored pictures. Thus if you're new to off-roading you can easily find the green trails all over the state and have lots of fun in a stock vehicle. Some of the medium trails are just tough is some spots. Remember you can always go back as most of the trails can start at either end. His advice on how to prepare and behave on the trail is well worth reading. If you are new to off-roading and want to start off prepared with the right equipment and attitude I'd recommend picking up Jim Allen's Four Wheeler's Bible. Wells' book is very encouraging to beginners and is a must have book as Arizona has some really beautiful off-road opportunities. My only complaint is I wish Wells would reissue his California edition to include the trail coloring and beautiful pictures.

Great knowledge of Arizona off-roading

Really like this book. Bought it on the recommendation of a friend. Just bought a Jeep and got into off roading. Love how it breaks down the trails by geographic area. You can go to FunTreks and download the GPS coordinates that match the trails in the book. Transfer the GPS over to Gaia and you have a easy way to stay on track.

GREAT Guide Book!

This book has been fantastic! My wife and I purchased a Jeep (our first) 6 months ago, and wanted to get out there and explore! This book has helped us tremendously! We also purchased a Magellan TRX7 and the Fun Treks corresponding data card! Now, we know where we're going, BEFORE we head out the door, what to expect, and with the data card, we're sure we never get lost! (We do venture off the trails sometimes to go exploring!) We plan on buying the rest of the books in the series now too!

Great for people unfamiliar with AZ trails

I’m fairly new to off-roading in AZ and this book has helped a lot. I mainly was using the same trails up in north Scottsdale (tonto NF) and hadn’t yet explored other trails because of not knowing what to expect. This guide is great and accurate even though it was written some time ago. It’s a great indicator on what I will face on the trails.

Great off-road guide

I recently purchased a RZR 800 S UTV and was looking for a guide book for Arizona trails. The rating system and color photos are a big help in selecting the trails I plan to visit. I'm very happy with the content and quality of the document. I also ended up purchasing the associated SD memory chip for the guide for my Nuvi 255 GPS navigation unit. Now I have an easy way to navigate to the trails as well on where I'm located on all the trails. I plan to take several weeks touring AZ, UT and CO this summer and decided to purchase the guides for each of the states. This will allow me to pick the best trails for both scenery as well as my skill level. I'm using the guides to help plan this vacation as well as lots of trips in the future

Fantastic

Arrived as scheduled. It was a birthday gift and the outdoorsman loved it! Can’t wait to check out the trails.

Worth the Price

Excellent book for trail users. Well laid out.

Easy to use and full of helpful info.

A must have if you plan on visiting Arizona and want to do some four wheeling on back roads and trails. Wouldn’t go off road with out it.

Perfect for finding local trails but check ratings based on recent info

the book is great for finding trails that are local. trails change rapidly so be sure to double check the local conditions as books are written some time back. very much looking forward to the next release.

Extremely Helpful!

Great book for people new to the area or who may not be long term permanent residents. This book was published in 2012 so many of the trail conditions have changed a bit since the authors initial trek, however the mileage counters were extremely helpful and accurate given that I forgot my GPS as I was walking out the door. I wish the pagers were slightly more durable and or resistant to water damage. Nonetheless this is a great book for the weekend overlander and or the avid local explorer alike.

Great book, but not for casual off-roaders

I've bought a few different guidebooks to go along with my new 4x4, and this is the best so far. The descriptions are succinct, and the waypoint notes are great. The spiral binding will make it more useful and rugged when dragged along down the trail. The one downside is that even most of the "easy" trails require 4wd, though the author states that you may get by with 2wd and high clearance on a perfect day. Imagine, then that the "hard" trails require something in the Jeep Rubicon area of abilities (or higher) and you'll see that 1/3 of the book is probably beyond what the average person has available to them. Still, that's the exact purpose of the book (to offer interesting, exciting drives for all ability/equipment levels), and it fulfills it well.

Useful information

I found this book interesting to read both from a trail and historical perspective. While visiting Arizona last summer, I took the Mt. Lemmon back road trail, which was rated easy, but would disagree. The last few miles required technical navigation of large rocks due to erosion, hammering my Subaru Forester. We made it but now question the accuracy of other trail ratings.

Good Trail information

I haven't used it yet, but it has a lot if information in the book for different trailers all over the state of Arizona.

GREAT INFORMATION

This book has great information, soo many trails. Bought this book for my guy who wanted to start going off road (about a year ago) and I still see him carrying this book around everywhere he goes.

Awesome book!

I accidentally let mine go with my Jeep when I sold it. And although there are several great online trail guides, having a book to right notes in is still pretty cool!

Enjoy Arizona camping and Jeep trails

Absolutely love this book! I am an avid Jeeper, enjoyed awesome Arizona trails and camping due to the information on this book while being stationed there by my military career. I think even if you are an Arizonian that is familiar with your own neighborhood, this book has a lot to offer and will show you something new. I recommend to use with google maps app or a personal GPS that takes coordinates for destination.

Guide to Arizona Backroads

Shows a lot of roads but missed some as well. Also how it categorizes the easy, moderate & difficult is a little off and some of the moderate roads are actually more difficult than expected.

Good book a must

Very useful and informative, we are exploring the trails in the book and the book is accurate.

Needed

We go off-roading all of the time, and this is definitely beneficial. Sometimes the directions aren't so great, but we typically drive with the GPS on as well to go to the coordinates.

NO

This book is overpriced for the content. There is no attention to small details. And small details are the information needed.

... something other than interstate highways then this is the best book I've found

If you're interested in exploring something other than interstate highways then this is the best book I've found. I have both the Arizona and Colorado books and find them invaluable. I'm not a daring off-roader (can't afford to break the equipment), these books make it very clear which trails I should explore and which I should avoid. If you haven't had the pleasure of reading one of these then I would recommend ordering one for your area and giving them a try.

Not a chance of getting lost..... Now.

I bought this kindle version, because i take my kindle everywhere with me. but then i soon realized that if i wanted to take this on the dirt bike instead of the jeep, i would need the spiral bound. So i got the book and the card for my etrex 30 and i love it. all marked out and ready to follow.

Rugged

Very well assembled, rugged for taking along the trip. The routes are clear with maps and notes based on experience on the trails. Very well done.

This is our second backroad guide by this author!!!!

They are well written, and provide a lot of advanced information on trails. A must have for anyone that plans to explore larger Offroad areas.

Good stuff

Really nice book!! Great info pics’ stoked for trip

If your thinking about it, order it.

Great information. Explains every step of the way. I have been on two trails so far.

Get out in the desert and STAY on TRAILS.

Good book.

Fantastic product

Loved the first edition and this is a great second edition. The color photos and maps greatly improve the readability. The spiral binding fixes my major complaint with the first edition. Maps and pics no longer get stuck in the binding in the middle. Also love the fact they made all routes easier to navigate in the opposite direction. The extra trails is just the icing on the cake!

Excellent!

I love this book. It is well-illustrated and has plenty of detail to get you where you need to go. I have referenced it many times and plan to get a similar one from the same authors for Colorado. ****UPDATE 10 Nov 2013***** I just used the book again this past weekend for a trip around the short (14 miles) but fun and occasionally challenging O'Leary Loop north of Flagstaff. The GPS coordinates were extremely helpful as were the pictures and turn-by-turn verbal descriptions. I have a lot of confidence finding my way with this book in hand. I really enjoy having it.

Pretty Good

Not a bad guide. Some of the historical commentary could be considered a bit racist but that comes with believing the West was won and not systematic ethnic cleansing and genocide.

Must have

If you off road in Arizona, you have to have this book. It is amazing. Very well written with tons of info. Gps coordinates, mileage trackers, color pics. The best. Easily worth twice the asking price. This book is the center of alot of our adventures, both for local rides around Phoenix and for overnight trips. The guys at funtreks hit a home run with this. Very well done.

Great Back-Country Guide

I have used Charles Wells guides for years and found this new one to be even better than before because of the color photos and maps showing topography. The driving instructions remain quite cryptic so I waited to write this review until after I used the guide. A friend and I followed the Gardner Canyon trail (moderate) and the Bull Springs trail (easy) in southern Arizona in March and found the directions quite adequate. All the important junctions were identified and the directions were clear. I recommend the book to anyone interested in exploring back roads.

Must have for Arizona offroad fans

What I was expecting. I know of at least one trail in the book that is no longer available due to new owner of property though.

places to go in Arizona

We are jeep riders and enjoy the back country and exploring things we haven't seen before, being relatively new to Arizona this book comes in very handy. I would recommend this book to all who enjoy seeing the sights that are off road.

ATV Trail Book for Arizona

Great book. Lots of detail, pictures and great information. Really helpful for people not familiar with Arizona TV trail locations!

Good information! Even for someone very loosely connected to reality.

I don’t go to these places. I read this book and I fantasize that I am there riding my Rhino and my motorcycle, pulling them with my Eddie Bauer Explorer and my Aluma trailer. All fantasy. All because of this book.

Renegade the explorer

I just received my copy of Arizona Backroads & 4-Wheel-Drive Trails (second edition) by Charles Wells that I purchased as a gift. I have other guide books by the author including ones for Colorado,Utah and an older version of Arizona that are very informative. I cannot report on the contents of the new book but I expect it to be as good as all the others. The new book feel cheap in hand and the spiral part does not allow the book to lay flat or to be folded back on itself. I also noticed that it was printed in China. While the quality of the material used is poor,it still is an excellent choice for the back country explorer.

Very good quality for the price.

This book is easy to understand. Very detailed. Pictures and details make it easy to decide where you want to go.

Great guid

Best Arizona trail book out there

much needed

Great guide to many off road trails in Arizona! Every off-roader should have this guide

Awesome Guide

Overall the guide is pretty awesome except for some reasons. The book states its spiral bound however the book cover, covers the front to rear as well as the spiral. The point of having a spiral bound book would allow the reader to lay it flat and the ability to flip it over completely. The book mind as well should have been a regular bound book. One other improvement would be a version should be laminated for true 4x4/off-road enthusiasts.

They are very helpful in that you can plan your trip a little better and know in advance which trails you want to ...

I have other books by Mr. Wells about Colorado and Utah. They have been spot on in their directions and descriptions. They are very helpful in that you can plan your trip a little better and know in advance which trails you want to take. We are looking forward to our Az. trip this fall. We will also take along our Co. and Utah books as we plan on swing back up that way for a few days before heading home.

Awesome book

Awesome book. I can't imagine ever needing trails spelled out any better than this book does. Gives GPS coordinates at strategic points in dd.mm.ss. Unfortunately my 2015 Tundra Entune System only accepts dd.mm.mmm, so conversion is necessary. But, that's just an aside. It's still a good guide. I fault the Toyota for not being able to accept different formats - seems like that should be a basic function.

Love the 3 ring bind

We will be practicing our social distancing on some new trails!

Great Resource!

I am surprised by the detail, information, and pictures available in this book. This is everything a novice or experienced off roader will need and enjoy! What a great resource for trails in AZ!

Great trails listed

Great trails listed. Listing the waypoints is extremely helpful. I like that the authors state if the trails are popular and busy as well. Went on a trail in Sedona that was listed as popular and I realized quickly how popular it is, wound up choosing a less popular, less crowded trail.

Awesome book, Punch coordinates into your GPS and GO

Awesome book, Punch coordinates into your GPS and GO! GO! GO! if you own a Jeep or any off-road vehicle and live in Arizona this is a must. You will find tons of cool trails, descriptions and directions with GPS coordinates from start and finish. also informs you if there's camping on along the trails. Highly recommended. Buy with confident.

A must have!

This is a must have for Arizona residents who like the back roads and off roading. You don't need a jeep to utilize this either.

In Alaska hoping to move.

This book helped convince me to take a strong hard look at Arizona to relocate to. Most detail out of other maps or on-line sources. Can't wait to use it.

Great Guide

Excellent for off road traveling, very well organized and detailed. A must have

Arizona Trail Guide Book

Great trail guide book. I used it to plan my next trip through CO, UT, and AZ. It has alot of other useful travel information and tips, too.

great book

great book, I recommend to all new 4x4 adventures

Great book

Excellent format book with GPS coords, distances and highlights for each trail. The things which need improving is that the type is a too small, especially the road number markings on the maps, and the mileage can drift out. However these things are outweighed by the overall format and quality of the book and the information it contains.

We've had The Most Fun with this book!

Laminated pages that lay flat are Super Helpful when you're bouncing around on a trail for hours. Accurate information, took us to fun places we've never seen before. Thanks!

Great Guide!

This is a great book and explains the trails well. I used it to find and navigate a few trails while in Arizona and this was very helpful in finding trails for my experience level. Planning on purchasing the Utah version as well for my trip next year.

Full of information

Great for planning and routing. I have an older version of Colorado Backroads and have used it many times for planning trips out west. We live in the Southeast US and this book never let me down.

Great for Jeep Owners!

Love, love this book! Got it for my husband when he got his Jeep. It's been fun to pick a new place every weekend to try. So far we have just been doing the Easy & Moderate ones. Great gift or perfect for family fun.

Great reference on Arizona, but be alert for trail ratings.

Well made with laminated pages spiral bound. Durable and easy for handling in less than sterile conditions. Tons of info on each listing. A lot of time and effort went into this book. Rated only a three due to accuracy of rating difficulty of trails. Already being familiar with certain areas I find some noticeably inaccurate. Realizing ratings are subjective and road/trail conditions change, the differences observed makes me skeptical of ratings on trails I have not yet traveled. It still is about the best reference available. I guess a solution is to over prepare for any situation, anticipate worst than advertised conditions and never, ever go alone.

Great colour photos and variety of treks selected

Well researched with some good bright colour photos and trek notes to really help prepare you for the trip. Proper maps than schematics makes a real difference when planning a trip such as found in HEMA atlas guides which these series of books doesn't give you - otherwise this is a great book.

Excellent source of well researched history

Love the details of the off road trails in AZ. Pictures and directions to trail heads are awesome.

Excellent for getting outdoors!

These books are simply amazing! I recently moved to AZ and picked this book up to help me enjoy the outdoors in my Jeep Wrangler. I recommend these books to any offroader out there looking to find new places to go! Protect our outdoors folks and travel safe and smart and remember to Stay The Trail!

Great Guide to the Back Country

Great book and love all the detail in the book about the trails! I have noticed that some of the trails difficulty rating doesn't match the trail. This may have been to trail erosion after the book was written. I can't wait to hit all the trails in the book.

Informative, well written and inclusive

Super helpful book. We wouldn't have known about a lot of trails without it plus it is handy to refer back to when we are out on the trails, in our Jeep.

Best off-road book and info

Had the exact information and details anyone would need for the trails - everyone who knows their stuff has one. Definitely a great buy.

awesome product, very detailed

we go jeep riding on these trails quite often here in phoenix and we use this every time we go ...I also purchased the little gps mini sd card which gets loaded into your gps and creates corresponding maps loaded and ready in your gps ...awesome product , very detailed .

A Blessing and a curse!

My husband is a native Arizona boy, and he hated hearing that this book was coming out because no one really knew about all the trails we ride and camp on. I got it for him anyway and he has already read it cover to cover! He grudgingly admits it is very well written with easy to understand instructions. His only complaint now is that the trails may be a little more crowded now that everyone knows how to get to them!!

a GOOD thing

very helpful information! I have not hit the trails yet but I feel I can now with this book in hand!!! Thank you for doing the hard work

Excellent guide to adventure

Never knew half of the areas detailed in this book existed. Great for planning g new off road adventures.

Great trail book for Jeepin' in AZ.

Very nice book with spiral binding makes it easy to lay open for use. Good trails and great write-ups. Sometimes its great to have an old fashioned book when your are out of cell phone and data coverage range. Format is easy to use. Highly recommended.

This is the BEST book

I have used it often. It is very reliable, complete, and it is always with me on the backroads and jeeping.

Trail riding made easy

This comprehensive 4x4 trail book is an essential read for those who are into the pleasure of navigating charted terrains. I chose a detailed map within the covers and left for the day. The directions, GPS coordinates, and mileage markers of the trails are spot on. It would be very difficult to lose your way with the very informative, detailed and well thought out notes of Charles A. Wells. Highly recommend for the outdoor enthusiast.

Buy it!

This was an excellent purchase. I would recommend it for anybody who is adventurous off road.

Great to have with us to help us not miss ...

Great to have with us to help us not miss any of the sights along the trails, know where to turn and where not to turn, etc.

Well written with painstaking detail. A must have before hitting the trail.

Charles A. Wells and his team do a fantastic job on all of their books. This is my fourth book by Mr. Wells and he has never steered us wrong. The trail descriptions are always spot on so you can pick the right one for you, your time-frame and your equipment.

BEST TRAIL BOOK

I Love this trail book. Gives me ideas of places that we can take the Cherokee and our Crawler out!

small size

The book was in a section of atlas size maps I was surprised to find a mere 6x9 size with all the wonderful pictures of jeeps going over tough terrain was impressive. I wish space would have been better used for more detailed maps. it resembled an Arizona highways magazine full of the jeep advertizing

Best off-road guide books

Without question, Wells' guide books are the best. I used this one to find some really cool places in SW Arizona. I own others of his books as well and have found them outstandingly useful.

A durable reference book...

Well written and photographed. The map drawings are good- the spiral bound format allows the book to lay flat, which is a big plus. Kind of $$, but worth it in my opinion. It will save me a lot of time messing around. Good job, Charles A. Wells!

Awesome!

I love this guide. Perfect for any level of off-roading and I can't wait to get started. Already have a few trails picked out that are a stones throw from my house.

great book

marking off trails ive been on so far

Outstanding resource!

Looked for a book like this for a very long time. Found this book at the public library. After checking it out 3 times decided to buy it. Also, bought a copy for our friend as a gift. Highly recommend. Great Pictures, maps and GPS!!!

Good information. I have been on several of the trails listed in the book, some before I got the book and some after. I like the waypoints and map that is included in each trail description as well as the difficulty levels. Very well done.

Well organized and very helpful for trip planning

I bought this book to help plan mineral collecting trips when visiting AZ. The color coded trail ratings are very helpful for my planning as I am more interested in getting to my destination than challenging my vehicle. I have not yet used the book but am looking forward to putting it to good this winter. From what I have seen thus far I highly recommend it!

Best wheeler book around

Many options and good directions. This is the best guide so far!

Great trail guide

This guide is perfect for those of us that have never been on these trails. The rating system is spot on and the amount of detail that goes into each section and description of trail is amazing. A fantastic value as well. If you like to go 4 wheeling whether it's with your Wrangler or your F150, this is a must have for your glove box.

Must have for jeepers in AZ

Great book! Very easy to see where the trails are and the commentary for each trail is a bonus

Nicely done

This book has some great roads and I do love that they have categorized them by experience. I was a little disappointed that they did not cover more of the state. Almost nothing covered on east side of state and very little of northern especially on the Mogollon Rim. Will keep looking for other resources

First Tier

All of these books in their series are first tier. The coordinates at the beginning of each trail is spot on and puts you at the trail head each time with your Garmin.

Great well researched routes

Well laid out by area, type of route, easy to read and understand. A great job.

This is a definite Must have !!

Definitely a must have for exploring!! Very detailed and well worth the money

Just hurry up and buy this already.

Great info...period.

Great Info For Arizona

Covers the majority of the trails here. Would be better if it was offered for Kindle reader.

Happy customer

Book was as discribed and was delivered in a timely manner

Four Stars

I love the fact that it is spiral-bound and you can lay it flat!

item as described

this is a great book with many details on trails in arizona

What fun. Some of these trails are VERY close to me. Amazing how quickly you can get lost in the Arizona mountains. This book helps us get back home safe.

Awesome Jeep/ATV Trail book

Love it!

The best book on wheeling I have found!!!

This book is fantastic and the detail is amazing you can’t go wrong here!

Five Stars

Great book and the trail detail is awesome. A must have for AZ Jeep'ers!

Just go

Extremely out of date ,some of these trails are closed and we haven't even got through the whole book yet I'm predicting even more closures ,also if your doing these in a 4x4 street legal vehicle and the trail is also accessible to the utv crowd beware that the trail will be difficult to navigate because they make their own trails that weave in and out of the actual trail my advice is stick to trails limited to street legal only if you thinking of getting this book dont ,your better off using google for local trails and the info will be more current concerning closures and you wont waste time

Super happy!

This book came recommended by friends. We are not sorry we bought it. Come this autumn we will be backroading our Arizona! The Wrangler will be so happy we bought this nifty, detailed travel guide. It is well written and assembled by regions which makes it easy to choose where we want to travel.

Excellent guide book to off road trails here in AZ

Excellent guide book to off road trails here in AZ. Details are on the money as is mileage distances, road and area features. Great photos in book as well!

Five year old data Not for the scenic easy ATV/UTV rider. Geared toward large OHv such as Jeeps etyc

Five year old edition. Tends toward harder jeep drives rather than small ATV/UTV drives. Does not cover all of Arizona only 100 trails in 7 areas. I planned to return it but thankfully I found someone with a jeep to take it off my hands

The Best

I LOVE this guide!! Great details help to prepare you for a great Jeep adventure!

Have fun with this book, It is great!

We have had so much fun with this book. Several of us go out and explore the Arizona Desert in the Winter. This book has really helped us to see things we would have never seen. Thank you. We are waiting for a 3rd addition.

I just used this book on our first back country trip. It was EXCELLENT!! Totally accurate and super useful. So glad Inchose this book!

I highly recommend this to anyone who want to get 4- Wheeling

The off road bible! Used it everyday on a trip to Sedona. Detailed descriptions direct you to trails and the "difficulty" ratings are very helpful. I highly recommend this to anyone who want to get 4- Wheeling.

who love to off road

A must for all 4x4 owners in AZ, who love to off road. My wife and I have followed several trails already with this book, and it's been solid.

Love this book

Wonderful and accurate resource. The pictures help a .other since not all of the trails are marked as well as they should be.

nicely made book

its a very good book for back road jeeping fun in Arizona. some parts of Arizona have more places to go. we live in SE Arizona and this book doesn't cover many trips here. its a good book to have tho & well put together.

Great off-road boos

This is my 4th Charles Wells book on off-roading. They are very detailed.

Fantastic!

This is a must have for anyone interested in offroading in AZ! Lots of fun trails that are hard to find elsewhere. The layout is great, and easy to read and navigate! GPS coordinates are given as well. Covers all over AZ and sectioned well.

Must Have For Off Road People !

This Is The Book I Have Needed For Many Years --- Almost 30 Years Of Atv, Trail , And Off Road Out In The Az Desert I Thought I Had Seen It All ---- I Was Wrong --- Buy This Book !----Before You Hit The Trails ---

Waiting for a new version

Some great trails but it only lists most of the more well know trails. I'm hoping that another newer version comes out soon!

Love it!

2nd edition rocks! Must have for the newbies!

Trails change every year with rain and use!

Good guide but does not have all trails marked.

Great info

Love this book

Guide to Arizona Backroads

Great off-roading guide. I've lived in Arizona for 45+ years, and have logged many miles in the "out-back", but this guide showed me quite a bit of interesting new routes, and sights. Good Job!

Lots of great information in one place

Lots of great information in one place! Would have given 5 Stars if each map included a few more trails. All in all is a "must have" book for AZ trail trekking.

Five Stars

Great guide! We appreciated the very explicit directions to and around each trail and the accurate difficulty ratings.

This book has been very helpful at helping us to find the best backroads to work on our off-road skill level

We recently moved to Arizona and, of course, we had to buy a Jeep. This book has been very helpful at helping us to find the best backroads to work on our off-road skill level.

Not just about trails.

Comprehensive and better than overland books.

Wish we had books like this back then

Been off roading sense the 70s Bikes, quads, now jeeps. Wish we had books like this back then. This book is awsome. For detail and mileage. My wife also loves it!!!

Never be in the wrong place!

Very informative. It tells you everything you need to know, what kind of road, where to start. ThE binder makes it nice to open, and keep your page. You can also wipe the pages off.

Offroad guide

I recently joined a four wheel drive club in Arizona and they use this book for all their outings. It is complete down to the last detail. A good purchase if you are planning a trip to the outback.

Nice guide.

well written - like difficulty ratings. book itself looks sturdy - like the spiral style - should hold up to rough treatment "on the trail". would have gone fire stars but was disappointed that there wasn't much discussion of trails in my area - Prescott.

All the essentials!

Perfect book for the AZ off-roader.

I do have to say that the older version of this book was a bit more detailed with better directions.

If you off road in Arizona then this is the only book for you. However, I do have to say that the older version of this book was a bit more detailed with better directions.

Good stuff!

Great resource for offroading trails, I like that it includes trail difficulty and photos.

Az. Backroads

Looks like a great book for the area I live in. Good pictures, description and routes.

This is great

We LOVE this guide! The ratings are very helpful. We are new to AZ, love to take our Jeep on the trails, but needed to know what we were getting into.

Great guide!

Great book, detailed, and plenty of maps and pictures. Disappointed that it does not include all of the trails in AZ, but it covers enough to keep me happy.

The best source for the 4-wheelers in AZ. I bought one for my Jeep mechanic, who is an off road guy and he loves it, too.

Great 4x4 trails

Great book great condition recommend to all. Shipping is fast.

Five Stars

Nice book for jeep enthusiasts. Only contains the major trails but has great detail on those that are listed.

Better then Nothing

This is not as well written and outlined as the Colorado version. We found it particularly difficult to stay on the correct trail, because the author doesn't take the opportunity to name the trail number/names in the instructions.

Loved the book

It was was a gift and he loved it. Thank you!!

Five Stars

I have the original, and this is sure a great update.

All of their books are good

All of their books are good.

some trails have changed due to local conditions

Would check with locals before getting stuck on a narrow two track with nowhere to turn around due to washouts or ruts left in road. Good GPS coordinates and trail descriptions.

Great improvement!

This 2nd edition is a great improvement over the first edition. The spiral binding, improved layout and new trails make this a very good bargain.
