Great read

This book changed my thoughts on sales it's a awsome short read and lesson can be applied to so many things in life

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again!

A very simple and understandable concept, and, in my opinion, a great lesson/advice for young people to learn now.

Loved it!

This is exactly what I needed. I get it now! If you need direction or motivation, I highly recommend this book.

Great book !!

Absolutely fantastic content. I’ve recommend it to all my clients with sales teams.

Good not great

I have very mixed feelings about this book. On the one hand I think there are a couple of important points in it and it has value to the basic sales person. On the other I feel it is overly simplistic and somewhat wrong. Some good points. First, the basic concept of "failing is not failure" is a very good one. Failing is a natural part of learning and improving. Failure is either not trying or giving up. The second point is simply changing your perspective. Setting your goals based on a "no" quotient just may be the thing that gets you going. Most people simply need to do something different. I'm sure you've heard the expression - Insanity is doing the same things over and over and expecting different results. Some critical points. First, setting no goals isn't necessarily going to make you a better sales person or better at anything else. This book isn't going to make you better at anything. It doesn't tell you how to do anything other than to change the way you measure your results. Instead of trying to book 6 sales this month you have to get 25 nos. The theory is that you will work harder and even if you don't meet your quota you will learn more. Perhaps I'm being overly critical but in the story the salesman went 3 for 3 on Monday. Then he slacked off because he thought it would be easy to get his fourth. Well he could have just as easily said "I'm on a roll. I'm going for the record this week." But even this is too simple a view. As everyone knows, incentives are what drive behavior. So if you are incentivized on 4 sales per week that's what you'll do. If you make 6 and you have a ceiling on your plan then it doesn't benefit you. If management sees you can get 6 sales per week then they can set your quota higher thereby putting more pressure on you in the future. Sure in a perfect world this wouldn't be the case but that's not the world we live in. Also, in the book they try to make the claim that this works in other fields as well. Even attempting to make the connection to surgeons. Really? The goal is to botch as many surgeries as quickly as possible to get better? I don't think so. Nor does it apply in high value sales or even sales to existing customers. In high value sales the process is generally long and expensive (think ERP software). Once you commit you want to win as many of these as possible. Sure there is a delicate balance between getting out early if it's not winnable and committing everything to winning but you can't just go for no since there are so few of these opportunities. Again, maybe I'm being overly critical but I also have an issue with the basic story. When we meet the salesman he is 28 and married. When we jump forward he is 38 and still married but now he has a bigger house, a nicer car, a platinum card and a plane. His wife has her own galleries and is traveling in Europe. The two of them are married to their work, likely rarely see each other and have no kids after being married for more than 10 years. If failing is not failure then succeeding is also not success. If success is based on material goods and your income then there are many people in the world who aren't successful. I realize it's only a fictional story to make a point but the story is the book and it apparently came from the minds of the authors. It paints a picture of two carefree individuals who care more about their work and social status than they do about anything else. So while going for NO might be a way of succeeding so to is dedicating yourself to a job at the expense of everything else. Try doing the same thing when you are up with kids ever night year after year. Try doing the same thing when you don't want to miss your kids concert, dance or ball game. Try having the same carefree attitude about failing when the mortgage is due and you have three kids in college. As I said, I know it's just a story but the book is the story. For all the people raving about this you do realize that the concept fits into a paragraph right? So read the book, it can't hurt. Just realize it is a very small piece of the whole successful selling picture. And remember that no matter how many times you succeed it doesn't make you successful. You are a product of all the decisions you make in life, not just the ones that lead to a commission.

Get out your comfort zone

I like the way the author wove the theme of getting out of your comfort zone to achieve something you never have.

GO FOR NO! Yes is the Destination, No is How you get THERE

A wonderful book that I have had for several months and just never got around to reading, Til Now!!! How could this happen to me??? I have had the key to my Dream Life all this time and I did not know it !!!

Great read

Must admit I was not interested in another motivational book yet this one changed my entire look at life and business in just under 100 pages. Read it and then read it again!

Thank you for the great reading book.

Wonderful book to read if you want to make the best opportunities for your life. Thank you again for one of my best reads this summer!

How do you get more yeses?

This book is really clear in telling you why going after yes is destructive. In place of that go after more nos. In doing this you will get more yeses. I really like how the author uses a science fiction effect of someone in a different time continuum. It makes it really interesting. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to win in business.

Great Concept for Sales

This is a great book for anyone is sales. If you want to succeed and try a different approach, this book is great for you! Going for NOs is a technique I hadn’t heard before but it makes sense. Those who are the most successful in life have used their failures as lessons to grow.

reconfirms what you have already but digs deeper into the mindset

This book helps you understand a no is needed for success not just a single no but hundreds if not thousands of no’s. It’ll help you understand you will fail way more times than you’ll succeed. It’ll help you understand the more you fail the more you’ll succeed and that the faster you fail the faster you’ll find success. Lastly set “no” goals not success goals.

An earthquake for me!

I'm in Brazil, I bought the Kindle version yesterday and I've just finished reading the book. At first I came to this book because of my issue of feeling an uncomfortable fear of being rejected by girls if I approached them. So I almost never approached any. Someone in some forum about the issue referenced this book. Because of this fear I generally not even have the courage to begin to talk to girls in any setting that would look like flirting. Not that I'm an introvert or over shy guy. Actually I'm kinda talkative and I talk to lots of girls at work and also with friends. Just have that fear of rejection that I always felt such as a deny of my own value as a person. Since the beginning of the book I felt that what I was about to learn would be sooooooo far important than just this issue with girls. I suddenly started to see how it will be possible, even easier, to approach any girl (now, after reading the book, I think that the "hotter" the girl the better for me to approach her), but also I began to see ways in which I'm going to improve my professional life tenfold. Now I'm going to tell something that will show the impact that the message and knowledge in this book have had on me: when I was 43% into the book (according to my kindle), I noticed I started to ... cry ... there were some tears in my face and they were of happiness for finally, after looooooooooong time and research, understanding how to understand, feel and react to rejection. Even want rejection! I kept reading and for more four or five times the "tears in my face" event happened again and again. I'm someone who can tell the few times in life when I cried. You can imagine the impact this message had on me. I'm now eager to go out, talk to girls, lots of girls. I'm now eager to launch new ventures on my work life, do things that were on my dreams for so much time but I just couldn't handle the idea of something not going plain right at the very first try. I will come back here in a while and tell you if and how the results will be. For the authors: market this book. more. agressively. give it for free if you can find sponsors. (send it free to some CEOs, I think they will do the rest) I really see the possibility of changing many lives. The salespeople can, with no doubt, get great rewards from these concepts. So can "wanna be entrepreneurs". And so can anyone who is single and looking for opportunities to meet new and interesting people and love. Thanks for your work!! Best regards, Douglas Cezar

Wow

Wow is all I can say. I have referred this book to employees and it has been a blessing for them.

Great Lessons

From an early age, we are taught that success is the opposite of failure. We are generally taught if what we are doing is not working, to go in the opposite direction. Go For No! teaches a different approach. The authors, Fenton and Waltz, teach that success and failure are along the same path - that success actually comes after a certain amount of failure. The book is very short and takes a very interesting approach to teaching the lessons underlying the philosophy of Go For No! The unique approach to teaching the lessons involves two different futures lives of the main character. One future life is highly successful, the other life is an also ran, the run of the mill life. The book is extremely short and very easy to read. You can get through this book in a little over an hour. The story plot and lessons are primarily geared toward selling. However it is very simple to take a higher level view of the principles and apply them to any profession or to life in general. The major take away from the book is that success and failure are on the same continuum. That if you are seeking success, you must first travel through failure. If you want success faster, then you must learn to embrace failure and fail faster. The story line is very interesting. An underlying message that is implied is the impact that time has on our lives. One small lesson, learned and implemented may not produce dramatic results immediately. But over a ten year period, implementing these small changes can and will have a dramatic impact on the quality of life. The lessons here are very simple and straightforward. But as the authors point out, learning the lessons will not improve your life. You must implement the lessons they are teaching. The beauty of this book is the lessons are simple and easy to understand. Like all powerful lessons, the implementation is where the value lies. It will cause you to re-think a number of your commonly held beliefs. Great reading. Short and simple lessons.

Change your thinking change your life!

This story gave me a spin around the room and back where my entire life was changed!! GO FOR NO!!

It Works!!

If you knew there was a single book that had the potential to forever change your thinking about success and failure and propel you to CERTAIN success would you want to know more about it? If you knew there was a single book that had the potential to forever change your thinking about success and failure and propel you to CERTAIN success would you want to read it? Where to get it? How much it costs? Listen UP. Business owner or not-- here is GOOD stuff coming to you. I recently read a book by Richard Fenton and Andrea Waltz. It is listed on Amazon.com and has 197 reviews, which in and of itself is incredible. Almost 200 reviews. A whopping 168 of those are five stars. Another 22 are four stars. So, 190 out of 197 reviews are above 4 stars. What's the book? "Go For No." How you have been taught to think about success and more importantly "failure" has probably been backward. Warning--the book is great BUT the concept is addicting. If you are a high functioning performer you need only read the book. But then if you are a 'performer' you will probably WANT more. If you, like me, have had "issues" getting out your front door you NEED this. There is plenty more training on their website which is phenomenal. For the timid among you-- here is my testimonial. I completed the bulk of the training yesterday-- in a single day!! This morning I put it into practice "collecting" no after no, maintaining a perfectly calm attitude. In the end I didn't get what I was 'wanting' I got something far more valuable. Through the training I had BECOME someone different, able to 'collect' no's calmly, indifferently and most importantly ENJOYING the process. I will continue to reprogram my mind to incorporate this into my everyday experience. Yes, there is a product for that too. Oh, but I am NOT in sales!! Yes, you are. If you have ever tried to influence another person--to buy a product, see a movie, go to your favorite restaurant, see your point of view or encouraged a child to eat peas-- YOU are in sales. Oh, you are BRAINWASHED!! I agree and admit my brain needed washing. I have no affiliate connection and will not profit in any way from the sale of this book. I WILL sleep better knowing I tried to influence you in a right direction.

Go for No is a must read for all sales people

This was an excellent book -a quick read and a great concept. I've been in sales for 28 years and would highly recommend this book to anyone in any sales capacity. As a manager or team leader - great book to give all your team members!

Change your relationship with the word NO

Most salespeople hate 2 things: They hate to read & they hate rejection. Richard & Andrea have you covered on both :) Go for No is only 74 pages long & is loaded with strategies to change your relationship with the word NO! There are 5 levels of failure. Levels 1&2 center on avoiding the NO. Level 1: The ability to fail. 100% of people have the ability to fail...yet won’t. Most salespeople never move past this stage. Level 2: The willingness to fail. Less than 20% of salespeople make it to this level. This level they see NO as “part of the job.” Level 3: A wantingness to fail. 💥Here’s your game changer. This is rare, single percentage, air for great sales performers. They want to Go for No because the more NO’s the seek the more YES’s they’ll reap. Most salespeople (1&2’s) become selective & Judgmental with who they work with. They’re always looking for the perfect scenario when (3’s) are focused on the next opportunity. 3’s embrace the NO instead of avoid the NO. This is a timeless book. The Sales terrain may change, but NO will always be the same. After reading this book, your relationship with the NO will change too :)

The best!

O've read a lot of books on sales but this simple little book has been the best. The absolute best!!!!

No is the way to go.

What an awesome book. I look forward to applying everything that I learned. Books like this are needed the most in peoples lives.

Not for introverts.

The book is an easy read. So it can be read in the coarse of a day. The concept of manipulating your mind to hear no and not take it personal and try to increase how many people or businesses you reach out to is really discouraging in the since it tells you to go for the “no” but then turns it around to a “not yet”. If you are an introvert doing marketing then I would say don’t read this. Most introverts are visual people so “no” is not a word you want to hear over and over. Because those of us that are introverts have learned to except “no” and move on. The book does reference that, but at the same time tries to make you be pushy when some simply cannot change how they are and become the squeaky wheel. It even used an example of a child that kept asking his mom for something, the mom kept saying no until she was so frustrated and angry she gave in. That part of the book made me feel as if i was trying to tell me to be disrespectful. In my successful marketing experience came from talking less and listening more; which again this book references but at the same time made his alter ego seem arrogant and pushy. I firmly believe marketing is a mind set but can be just as effective by positive affirmations and visually seeing your goals day by day, week by week, month by month, year by year. Prepare the night before and start each day with gratitude.

What a read!

This is a very impactful reading! Definitely a must read

The motivational book you wouldn't think of!

This is a good tale telling book dealing with aspects of not just sales but life as well. I highly recommend this book to those who have to deal with a supposed negative responses. It truly helps put you into a positive mindset to stay in motion and never drop your goals. You'll get there if YOU want it.

A Must Read for those struggling with No!

Great quick read!

Changed my life. Thank you for this gem.

I never really write reviews, but I had to for this book. I feel like God has sent this book for me. The content really has changed my life. I have always been a person that prided myself in being ultra calculated, and only doing things that I knew would have a high probability of being successful. This has done great things for me, but I was always far from where I WANTED to be. I didn’t realize that even though I was accomplishing things, I wasn’t taking enough action to get to the levels of achievement that I dreamed of. I was doing just enough to feel content that I was doing *something*. I was avoiding the pain of taking the harder roads that lead to more failures, and ultimately more success. This book has reframed my mindset on failure, and has taught me to embrace it instead of avoiding it with the false impression that less failure meant more success. This book is only 80 pages, and a very easy read, but the content is worth more than gold. I would like to thank the Authors. I am immensely grateful for this

Easy to read and very informative.

A couple of hours and learned a lot.

From handling a rejection to seeking rejection

Do you seek rejection? Do you go after it? If not, you have not evolved to the highest level about understanding the concept of failing faster. For those of you who know me, know fully well that I have lot of ability to handle rejection. I have 2 inch thick Rhino skin and I can eat rejection for breakfast and come back for more at lunch. However, like most sales professionals, I avoided it whenever I could. No more. After reading this book, I have total 180 degree change in the way I think about it. If you are in sales and it takes you 10 no's to get 1 yes and if you start your day and if you get first yes on your first call, what do you do? If you are anything like my old me, you will stop calling and start working on that sale and probably you would reward yourself by taking off early that day right? What this book teaches you is that you need to keep going until you get all 10 no's. In the process, you may end up closing 5 deals that day instead of one. In other words, set goals for failure (No's) vs setting goals for success (Yes's). If you are an entrepreneur or a sales professional and if you have not read this book, I suggest that you drop whatever you are doing and go get it and read it right now. And then read it one more time and then order copies for everyone in your team and make them read it 5 times. You will thank yourself that you did.

Celebrate Your Failures & Your Success Will Come

Before you buy this book, you need to know that this is not written as an informational book but as a novel-type in its style. Second, you must understand that early on the novel is not exactly super easy to follow, until he gets to the meatier part of the book near chapter 10 or so (however, you need to read the early chapters). I actually bought - and finished - this book in two sittings this afternoon (I was interrupted by needing to run an errand or two). That's saying a lot, as I'm not generally a very focused reader. I usually have to pause a lot but with this book I was able to stay focused and read right through. Many of the things he says are echoed by many other sales experts, so the foundation is quite solid. What makes this book unique is that you are taught to pursue "NO"s in your goals and quotas for the day or week, and that you can get multiples from the same person to be included in that quota (if a person tells you "NO" multiple times, that means you're being persistent and that's a good thing, given that the average person closes after the 5th attempt to close them, which few people ever get to). In short, by way of story, you learn how to rethink and refocus your goals - and that's a good thing. I am extremely glad I read this book and when I have a sales team in the future, they'll be reading this too. Buy it, read it, digest it, and let it change your goals - and your life.

Only 3-4 Pages Worth of Good Content

Okay... I'll sum this up really quick for you. Most people never make it past the first "NO" they here. When they run into friction they go the other direction. Success is on the other side of the friction point. The more times you here "NO" the closer you are to sale because with each "NO" you hear, you ask the the buyer why and get to their point of hesitation. Okay.. so maybe I summed the book up in one incomplete paragraph. But that's about the value of the book. Yeah there was some good stuff... BUT there was a TON.. and I mean a TON of fluff chapters that could have been cut out. The first part of this book is trying to set up the story and it wanders around a bit. I couldn't understand why they broke the story up into these little chapters that had no point at all to them. There were probably only about 3-4 pages worth of really good content and for that I would give it a solid 3 stars. Would I give this 4 or 5 stars. Maybe if there was more substance to the book and not a bunch of fluff chapters that go no where. One of the chapters was him going to the golf course then falling down and bumping his head... and that was the chapter. Another chapter was a narrative of how he didn't like going to work... and that was it. The author does their very best trying to tell a story where he bonks his head then goes into an alternate universe where he meets his other self that's more successful. I'll give this to the author... he really really tried hard. If he had a ghost writer and they wrote more factual pieces instead of trying to lay out an incomplete story that wondered all over the place then this book would be really good. Was the book good? Yes and No. Yes because the concept is solid. Go for no. Most sales people quit after the first or second no. 80% of sales is made after the 6th - 7th "NO". No, because the price, quality of written text was probably only worth a $1.99 ebook. Seriously. It's really up to you. I summed the book up in the first paragraph. There's nothing new past that. You might take away a few more nuggets but that's about it.

Compelling premise delived third class

The idea that failure can be empowering and even transformative is not new although from reading many amazon reviews I am always surprised to discover how many self-help or inspirational ideas are new to so many people. The author wraps his theory that collecting "No's" is the golden road to mega-success in oft-quoted stats (some quite questionable, i.e., that the 5% of people who are financially independent when retired are those that have failed the most.) Then, too, there are the obligatory citations of great failures--Colonel Sanders and Abraham Lincoln to name two. Let me be clear: there is great value in any technique that can liberate people from the paralyzing fear ofrejection or failure. In the case of "Go for No", however, a principle expressed by Gandhi, Victor Frankl, William Saryon, Kettering and so many others, including Ommar Khayam in his poem, "Defeat" is told as a kind of fantasy that made "It's a Wonderful Life" and "The Wizard of Oz" classics. Essentially, it's the tale of a guy (who like Dorothy) gets thumped on the head and comes around in a mystical place where he learns a great truth about life. It's a quick read--you can whip through it an hour--so I would suggest an experiment: Get four or five index cards, write down what you believe are the most empowering thoughts. On another card, copy the words of Khayam's "Defeat". Read each twice a day--once in the morning and once at night for a month and then ask yourself which has empowered you more. "Defeat" Defeat, my Defeat, my solitude and my aloofness; You are dearer to me than a thousand triumphs, And sweeter to my heart than all world glory. Defeat, my Defeat, my self-knowledge and my defiance, Through you I know that I am yet young and swift of foot And not to be trapped by withering laurels. And in you I have found aloneness And the joy of being shunned and scorned. Defeat, my Defeat, my shining sword and shield, In your eyes I have read That to be enthroned is to be enslaved, And to be understood is to be levelled down, And to be grasped is but to reach one's fulness And like a ripe fruit to fall and be consumed. Defeat, my Defeat, my bold companion, You shall hear my songs and my cries and my silences, And none but you shall speak to me of the beating of wings, And urging of seas, And of mountains that burn in the night, And you alone shall climb my steep and rocky soul. Defeat, my Defeat, my deathless courage, You and I shall laugh together with the storm, And together we shall dig graves for all that die in us, And we shall stand in the sun with a will, And we shall be dangerous.

3 Things I Like About "Go For No!"

There are 3 things I really like about this book; it's easy to read, it's fun to read, and it totally changed the way I think about failure. The first thing I like about it is that it is easy to read. It's less than 90 pages, it's written in the style of a story, and it's written in plain English. It took a little more than an hour to read. These factors help make it easier for the busy people in my organization to find the time to give it a chance. The second thing that I like about it is that it's fun to read. It has interesting characters who encountered situations I could relate to. It reminded me of several good movies that I've seen (It's a Wonderful Life is one that comes to mind). The fact that it's fun and interesting encourages the people in my organization to actually talk to each other about the book. It's kind of like going to work the day after an episode of Lost--everyone is talking about it. The third thing that I like about the book is the important lesson that it teaches; that it's OK to fail. By page 29, I learned that I'd been thinking about the relationship between success and failure all wrong. I also learned about the different levels of failure and what it takes to progress through them. These lessons empower not only me but my entire organization as well. I highly recommend Go For No! Not just because it is easy and fun to read, but because of the valuable lesson that it teaches--that NO, in any language, is the most empowering word in the world.

This concept can change your thoughts and change your life forever!

One of my favorite quotes is by Thomas Edison. When asked what it felt like to have failed ten thousand times to invent the light bulb, he said, "I have not failed ten thousand times, I've simply discovered ten thousand ways that will not work." And then there's well-known psychologist, Dr. Albert Ellis, who, to get over his fear of rejection, asked two hundred women for a date during a two week period. All but one turned him down, and she failed to show up! Although he didn't get a date, he conquered his fear of rejection and eventually became an expert on romance and dating. "Go for No" by Richard Fenton and Andre Waltz is a story that explains how the highway to success is paved with failure and rejection, and that we must embrace it and seek it as Edison and Ellis did. As with many other bits of wisdom that I've ever so slowly accumulated, I wish I'd have known this when I was younger. I took failure and rejection way too hard, and was ultimately crippled by the everyday snubs and disappointments that, I failed to realize, everyone must endure. This book is especially helpful for salespeople who are told, counter-intuitively, to seek a quota of "no's" rather than "yeses" in order to succeed. But this strategy can benefit anyone seeking a job, trying to improve a skill, or improve just about any area of life. David Allan Reeves Author of "Running Away From Me"

Quick & Relevant read

This book could not come at a better time. I love recommending books and having books recommended to me (like this one was), so I will definitely pay it forward.

Worth the short read for sure.

I just finished reading this book. I was discouraged when I read some of the negative comments on here, but chose to read it anyway. I had already bought the book so why not. I have to say I believe that those who left negative comments are likely the same people who won't take the actions suggested in this book and likely won't succeed in sales. Reading this book will not guarantee success, but I do believe that putting the strategy into action with the right drive to succeed will absolutely guarantee success. I enjoyed this short read very much and will share this book with others.

Great Book. Hits very close to home.

I will start of by saying this. This book is about about an average performing 28 year old copier salesman that doesn't have a lot of experience. I bought this book because I am a 29 year old copier salesman that has only been selling copiers for 4 months (first sales job) and am trying to hit the sky as far as success goes as well as stumbling across the best territory on the team, which comes with great pressure to perform. It seems like the main character is the book pretty much sums me up to a tee. I was able to reach the book the first afternoon I got it and it changed my views on selling, cold calling, rejection and success in general (particularly in sales). I've seen other comments that said this was life changing so I decided to give it a shot, and boy was it! I have gone back and referenced several pages that stuck out to me to really allow the message of the book to hit home. If you are in a similar situation, or just in a situation in sales where you would entertain the fact of changing the way you view cold calling and rejection you should by all means give this book a read. I highly recommend it!

BEST SALES/NETWORK Marketing BOOK ON THE PLANET! A MUST HAVE!

I would recommend this book be mandatory for ANY Sales associate/network marketing associate/ team member/general managers/regular employees period!. The read on this is fairly quick, less than an hour, and it happens quickly. I remember getting the book in the mail and sitting down, reading the first page to sample this and never looking back up until I was done! I love the story and the way he pulls you right in! Who wouldn't want to go back in time and tell themselves what they SHOULD have done? Love it! (Or in this case, fast forward to the future to see yourself as an astronomical success!)

Think about your goals differently

This book is a SUPER useful guide to reframing what you SHOULD think about with your sales goals. I will be giving this as a gift to clients and friends regularly. The main point of the book is a game-changing paradigm shift for anyone who has to ask for anything.

It's a Quick and Easy Read - Go For No Is a Gem

When I first picked up the book, "Go For No", I have to admit I was a bit put off since I am not big on fictional tales to get a point across. Also, I saw that the character was a copier salesman, which was the one industry I spent the least time in when I was in sales - didn't like the copier biz and how it worked. But, when I got past that and kept reading, I realized something huge. Many times I have spoken to small business owners and sellers about how somehow a switch flipped inside me to allow me to not have a problem with rejection - now I have more "words" for what actually happened for me. The authors talk about how turning rejection into something that is just "inconvenient" and how we can "never let the word NO devastate us." Many small business owners are paralyzed with a fear of rejection and in not understanding that no simply can mean "not now" or "I don't have enough information" - and they never follow up. I not only highly recommend this book - I will be buying it for some of my clients as an easy-to-read and easy to understand story to help their sales people follow up more and handle failure on their way to big successes. This book will make a great gift to anyone learning to master sales - no matter what industry or how they sell. Lori Richardson @scoremoresales [...].

What stops you from being the greatest version of yourself?

If you ever asked yourself, `Why didn't I do that before?` or ever wondered what if? Maybe you look back at things and wish you had done it different. Even Frank Sinatra had some regrets and wished he would have done something he didn't do or done it differently. No one is immune. Not even me.

Great Unique Book / Idea

I'm not a salesman YET but trying to get up to speed on how to be a great one if for nothing else to know how to market and help serve people better with integrity. People can't buy and use things that will make their life easier without someone bringing it to their attention. So I'm researching the best way to do that. I found this book to be really easy to read, read it in one sitting which is rare for me. It was really some great stuff to think about and helped me see things in a different way. I gave this book out to several people because I felt that it could really help them and they loved it to. Is it the best book I've read, no but it was good enough to earn 5 stars from me. It's really about pushing yourself past the lid and finding that you can do more than you ever thought or imagined possible. I hope you love this book and get a lot of yes in the midst of the sea of no's ;)

Go for No? YES! YES! YES!

I have a personal saying in my business - "Are you blowing me off, or are you just being 'California nice'?" If someone is always 'thinking about it' or 'will get back to you' or 'will meet with you soon' - chances are that they aren't buying what you're selling. They just don't like hearing 'no' themselves, so they are uncomfortable telling you 'no'. They hide behind these blow-offs until you politely give up. Apply the lessons in this short book and stop wasting time, cut to the chase, and close more business. This is a great and simple book - change the way you look at 'no' then you can change your sales methodology and become a 'bulldog' salesperson. So many sales people dance around a closing question to avoid the possibility of 'no' - in this book, the authors suggest that you take on closing by putting the close on the table and either getting your 'yes' (commitment) or getting 'no' after 'no' until you solve the objections or kill the deal. What a time saver! Don't be timid or 'California nice'. Now push the 'buy' button and read the book.

How Is It Different?

How is this book different? Do you wish you could go back and tell yourself what you needed to know and do to succeed? It is not too late. This book tells a story of how we can think about situations and apply some strong ideas that are contrary to normal thinking. These ideas might just be crazy enough to work. I will suggest that you need to thicken your skin to the feelings of rejection before during and after you read this book to make it worth it. If you are not willing to take rejection when you pursue your dreams this book will not help you. If you are pretty good or see the ability to get over rejection in life as critical! This book will give you actionable steps and formulas to be successful if you put them into action. I am going to read it again because it is less than 100 pages and easy to read. I have learned that reading Great books twice is never a waste.

Great quick read

This book is great for anyone in marketing. Quick easy read. Good story with a great principle.

We can learn to go for NO - and have enjoy in the process :)

We have a natural tendency to avoid NO, and that probably has to do with our fear of rejection. We are social animals, and this means that we seek social acceptance. If we see a NO as a rejection, that NO hurts, and we tend to avoid situations that can lead to hearing a NO. Yet, if we study highly successful people, they don't see NO or failure as a negative experience. Nonetheless, that goes so much against our natural tendency, and the way we were raised, that makes us wonder if those people have a success gene that we lack. “Your fear of hearing the word ‘no’ is the only thing standing between you and greatness.” ( Go for NO!, pg. 28) If this is true, is there a way we can learn to be more at ease with NO, even to want to hear NO? That’s why I love the Go for NO! book. We can learn to go for NO - and have enjoy in the process :)

Powerful little book!

Short but powerful read. Great techniques provided and easy to implement.

New "effective" concept!

I received the book today, and on my way to the office, I stopped at a traffic light and started flipping the pages. I read two paragraphs of the first chapter. For a while, I thought it will be boring like other books, were authors talk about their accomplishments and their clients. Nevertheless, I said to myself, if doesn't benefit me, it wouldn't get me any harm! At the office, I picked it up and continued reading. The first four chapters are okay, until you reach the fifth, you are caught here! The book takes a different direction, you just can't stop! You read more and more, anticipating the end of the wonderful story and the energizing words. The book offers a new concept of sales, as most of salesperson fail to recognize. We - salespeople - are emotional most of the time; therefore, we always seek a single "sale" to recharge us after failing with other prospects. The book encourages you to "keep failing" and accepting "failure" as a motive not the other way around. Because eventually, your failure will turn into success; nothing lasts forever! Go for it! Once you touch the book, you'll finish it on spot and will feel energized.

I Wish I Would have read this book sooner

As ironic as it sounds, even successful long time sales professionals fall into this trap of avoiding no, or rejection. You think you have things figured out and with "just the right message" you can get the prospect to say yes. That's rarely the case. I would highly recommend this book particularly for those sales professionals who find themselves in a slump at times; as we all do.

Excellent way of looking at productivity

I was very resistant to the book and it's "go for no" mantra until about half way through. That is when I realized the application of this "Go for NO" is what is useful... NOT a desire to fail, but to hit your "fail quota" weekly. Very interesting and different POV. I began using it even before I finished the book. Now I'm re-organizing my entire week schedule with this in mind.

One of the best success books ever!

Most people stop when they hit their positive goal, but how many continue on to reach their negative goal? In this book, the authors show that when people say no, and you say next, that true success can be realized. Don't let no hold you back, but set you up for success.

A great book!!

I love, love, LOVEEEEEEE this book. I was really surprised because I honestly didn't think this would be worth my time reading. I mean come on!! Who wants to hear the word no all the time? But when they explained the "Go for no" concept, I found it to be quite intriguing. I thought this was a great book. I think this book definitely is an eye opener and it gives really good points about accepting the word no, and how to move pass it, when it happens. I love how he talks to his future self in the book. The only thing I probably didn't like about it, is that some of the experiences they listed in the book was already experiences they shared on stage with the audience. They made up for it though when they talked about some key qualities about overcoming the word "no" and how to grow from it. Great book though!

A Powerful Read!!!

I read this book in less than 24 hours and my mindset has been transformed! Such an easy read but packed with wisdom! I am inspired and ready to start putting into action the Go for No strategy. This book is a treasure and I highly recommend it for anyone whose fear of failure or rejection has been hindering their progress. You won’t be disappointed!

Sometimes books re-enforce something we already know.

The fictional side of the story was a little odd to me but overall it is a quick read with some damn good points. I plan to buy a few more for my team at work.

We use these for sales training

I've been pretty successful over the past 24 years in sales. I've got an office full of awards and boxes more at home. I've been exposed to some powerful teaching and learned I can achieve whatever I set my mind to. What I DIDN'T do was 'go for no' - I hated no! This book taught me to embrace it. It also slapped me upside the head! I can't tell you the number of times I quit on a phone session or called it a great day just because I had a few yes replies or sold a few. As I am building a sales department now - we are all using this book for our model. We talk in terms of NO's we've gotten - we challenge each other for more No's - and our sales are ridiculous - even by our prior (very) successful standards! My last buy was 5 copies....we will need more!

Highly Recommend.

As a real estate broker who suffers from an irrational fear of prospecting, this book was very empowering. "Your fear of hearing the word NO is the only thing standing between you and greatness." Love this. A willingness to fail isn’t enough. A wantingness to fail, actually seeking “no’s is what’s needed. When you develop a true wantingness to fail, rejection starts being fun! You can decide to make each no you receive and every rejection you encounter something that empowers you so that instead of avoiding rejection, you decide to seek rejection. The most empowering word in the world is not yes… the most empowering word in the world is NO. This was a very quick, easy read. I also recommend their companion book, The Fear Factory. Both are short, quick reads with lots of great content.

Good ideas

Interesting for my new job of selling. Good ideas to try

Not what I consider a Book

Overall it is an interesting story. There is only 80 total pages and it really was stretched to make it that. If you are looking for a light read this is it. I feel it was over priced for what you get. It is a motivational and interesting story I give it that but It was not really worth the money. Charging anything more than $3.95 for this is highway robbery. I was compelled to purchase and read this by peers in the insurance business. Yes while it is the right vantage point for a salesman as far as books go this is one of the more regrettable purchases I have made. Literally someone could tell you the story and save you the money for it in 3 minutes.

"Fail" is not a four-letter word

I really liked it. I'm starting up a new business, and there are days I have to muster up courage to face inevitable rejection. This helps put a new perspective on the numbers of people I will need to talk to, and make it more fun and the "NOs" less personal. I got both the Kindle version and the audio file, so I can read while I commute or listen as I am walking or working around the house. I had it on while cooking breakfast this morning and even my elementary age children enjoyed listening to it while they were eating, and begged to continue while I drove them to school. The authors couch wise principles into an enjoyable story, and the end result is that success is not only more fun, but "failure" is too. I'm recommending this to my husband and co-workers as well.

Hope enough people say No and make more sells

I don't write reviews on book ever, however 90% of my purchases that come from amazon come from customer reviews so I felt it was only right to help you make the purchase. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS BOOK! The author has mastered the art of story telling, which is soooo underrated and under used in most books, and nails it on overcoming your fear of rejection. If you are in sales this is a must have! My perspective has totally changed! He deserves an award for this book! I felt sooooo pumped up and EXCITED when I finished the book. That isn't an understatement. You won't be dissapointed with the purchase. I would give you the concepts and format that the book is based on, but I feel that would rob you of your experience. Just pay the damn $10 and make an investment to change your life! Do it now! You owe it to yourself to make more money!

Fast read, impactful yet left practical information to be desired

This was a great motivational book on why No is really the start of a solid opportunity to build a relationship. It was fast paced. You can read/listen to it it in a couple hours (and I read slowly). I was revved up and then somewhat let down because I was left asking "So, I'm gonna go for the no! Now how do I do that"? And the book ends. Great recommendation for a team to read together and get inspired with.

Go for the no

Truly inspiring fable to keep close and remind yourself how far to go to obtain true success. Thanks!!! Nice job

Excellent book. Quick read, fast paced, well written, thought provoking!

I actually listened to the audio version. I was a little confused at first because I expected a "narrative" like most "how to" books. But this was different. It was actually a well told and thought provoking story that brings the reader into a life situation and walks us through problem and solutions in an intriguing way. The lessons it presents and teaches, you "live through" in the story and I think the impact was much greater than having a "guru" walk you through logic and effect. Assuming the part of the lead character in the story you're brought through life changing wisdom. Highly recommend it. If you're on the road a lot, the audio version is a great way to take advantage of unproductive driving time.

Thought Provoking

Really changes the way you think about prospecting in your business...and when you stop and think about it, it all makes sense. We naturally slow down as we reach our goals and this turns that notion on it's ear. If your prospecting goals are based on the number of yes's you receive, you'll start downshifting the closer you get. If your prospecting goals are based on the number of no's you receive, the better you get, the fewer no's you'll get and the more likely you are to blast past your sales goals as you push to reach your "no" goal because you'll be getting fewer no's. Counter-intuitive but once you stop and think about it, makes complete sense if you want to blow past your prospecting and sales goals.

Simple, Creative & Motiviating way to present a life and work changing concept

Outstanding! Took a bit, as an excellent, creative story teller, to overlook the obvious and offensive lie about the two Eric's being twins and his friends believing it. Other than that I was able to slowly accept the premise and apply the principles to both a time in my life when I choose to leaving sales profession as a young father and now return as a middle aged grandfather. I am glad I bought the book and was able to tailor the NO quotient to my line of sales. I was also able to create my own "Twilight Zone" concept to those now merging timelines in my life.

No means Yes

This was an easy read. I purchased the electronic copy for myself and a hard copy for a friend. I was done reading my copy before hard copy even arrived. In other words it's a short book. No reason to be scared of the word No. If you look at a No as a positive and not a negative then you will embrace the No knowing the yes is near by. This book uses a story to demonstrate how you can be successful by accepting the No's along your journey. The tile say's it all. If you are looking for a Yes then No will be the way you get there. This book puts it into perspective. If you say Yes to success then there is NO way, No how, No one, should Not read this! Did my No's kill you? No! So Yes read the book!

Transformed my Business

Do not pass Go for No

Everyone should read this book. It could totally change your life path no matter what you do or where you are going. It’s all about how you look at it.

Very clever!

OK, the story was alright, but the idea is pretty clever. It reminded me of the negotiation book Start With No, and also the cognitive tricks of Brief Therapy such as Bill O'Hanlon writes about. I'm using what I learned in Go for No! now to get myself through doing tests for math classes. I'm giving myself the goal of getting 10 exercise problems wrong each day. So far I have "failed" miserably! Obviously, I am not intentionally writing down wrong answers - I am trying to do enough problems so that I get at least 10 of them wrong, thereby pushing myself to excellence by intentionally going for failure. Paradox, for the win! The book is a quick read, reasonably priced, and if you're willing to try something new, I believe you'll be pleasantly surprised. I was.

Must read for sales, network marketing, lead generating etc. 50%-100% increase in sales and productivity!

Are you afraid you lack the ability to sell? Are you afraid of making that initial approach? After reading this book... I can honestly say I have seen a 50%-100% in overall productivity and sales. This book will open your mind, and flip your world upside down. For me, my fear of cold calling has been close to fully eradicated - which was my number one problem. I'm a sales lead generator for a software company, and after reading this book my weekly sales/leads have evolved from 1/week to 4-5, just following the week of reading this book. My numbers continue to grow. My phone sales skills have gone from moderate to great. This book will clear the path to your success.

This is a must read for everyone!

This book is so intriguing. It doesn't matter if you're in sales or not this book applies to every area of life. It has given me a whole new perspective.

$12?

I love what I read here. 100% agreed but $12 is too much for this small book. Should be $5.00 or so

Hopeful but NOT Helpful

When I first read this book, I reread it and reread it and introduced it to my entire team in network marketing. WE LOVED IT! The problem is that it teaches everything is a numbers game, that you can have a negative message but as long as you get it in front of enough people everything will work out, like their life insurance agents story. But what happens when you literally go through thousands and thousands of people and nothing happens. Then I read the book Start With Why, which goes contrary to most sales talk in that not everything is based on a numbers game. If you read Start With Why you’ll discover that there have been some great companies that had great products and failed miserably, because their message was horrible, and if the message is horrible in real life people don’t buy.

Deserves atleast 10 stars

I have to admit I was skeptical at first, Go for No!, what does that mean? Not the first book I ever would have picked up. I bought it because of the reviews I read and I have to say a very well deserved 5 stars. This is a book that should be taught to kids in senior school. The idea that the book tries to convey is simple yet very powerful and one that most individuals forget growing up. if you are one of those people who is afraid of failures (read 'most people'. yes! you are not alone) and/or if failure is one of your biggest fears then you must read this book over and over until the concept gets stuck in your head. My only wish was that I had read it earlier but you know what they say. It's never too late to start.

worth reading

Short, simple vocabulary, very interesting strategies.

A motivational book for almost all situations in life

I don't write many reviews, but this book, while given to me in exchange for another product, had been signed by a tremendously successful person so I thought, what the heck, I'll read it. I am glad that I did now as I found it hard to put down until I had read the whole thing in a few hours and even taken notes from ideas presented in the contents. I found that the way in which the authors presented their solidly sound ideas about how to not only cope, but excel in any venture you are about to undertake was novel, refreshing, and absolutely spot-on. I now give copies to all my associates as they come on my team and feel that the book can tell them how I feel about how to approach our business and is all that is necessary to say. I heartily recommend this book to both business people as well as parents to give to their children who may be having typical post-teen issues in life.

GREAT book on dealing with the fear of hearing NO!

This was a GREAT book that totally made me view rejection/failure in a different light. Studies show that 80-98% of prospects a salesperson calls, say NO on the first call, funny thing, the one's that do say yes on the first call, you probably don't want anyway, with that being said, rejection can still sting a bit. This book definitely makes you view getting a 'no' differently, it takes the fear out of it, makes you reexamine yourself and your mindset. I would recommend this book to anyone, not just if you're in sales, if you're fearful of hearing NO or getting rejected then get this book!!

Small but packs a huge punch !!!

Wow ! When this book arrived the other day I was admittedly disappointed in how thin it is (literally under 80 pages). But remembering the reviews I put that to the side and read it anyway...so glad I did ! Some books are meant to be extremely thorough..and other get straight to the point. This books creates a very vivid story that gets straight to the point !! While reading it, I literally could see the parallels of my own life and how and why I've made the decisions I have up to this point. I've recently made some career changes and have been diving head first into the books to help change my 98%er mindset and this book has helped tremendously

Good read

Go for no, a short yet meaningful read. Definitely recommend

Make "No" your fuel!

Great mental perspective. Have to try it out. ..Getting more no responses gets you more yes responses!

Fun format

This book is a clever way to give meaningful sales information in the format of a short story. Most "how to" books are stuffy and hard to read. This book was fun and because of the storyline, I wanted to keep reading.

An Outstanding Sales Book

I love this alternative viewpoint to sales and success. I was mind blown several times in this short yet highly powerful book that truly confirmed my massive outreach methods and why I am destined for a great life because I don’t make ‘yes’ goals anymore, I only set “no” goals and I constantly seek to up the failure quotient. What an amazing new skill!

So simply of a book but the BEST I've read this year!

Truly a great story and the method couldn't be taught without the great story behind it. I usually read the negative reviews on a product or book and try to balance it with the positive reviews. I then base that on whether I'll buy the product, in this case I'm glad I didn't believe what one review said about taking out the story and just explain the concept. This book was perfect period and the concept so simple you'll either laugh and do it or go chasing after another book that you think will help you in life. I don't have a sales team but if I did the foundation of what this book explains will be how I train my team. Mr. Ralph

For people in sells, leadership, and humanity😁

I read this book in a little over an hour. I loved every minute of it and the entertaining way the concept was introduced. I feel excited and motivated to begin immediate implementation!

No isn't the only thing you need to get there.

I love the concept, no doubt about it. I think the only thing that frustrates me is this emphasis on not fearing no, and insisting everything you want in life can be had if you are willing to face enough rejection. Perhaps that is so in sales type careers, but there's more to the equation - and simply beating your head against the barrage of NO's more than the next guy, doesn't guarantee success. At some point, knowing what to ask for comes into play also. 5 Star if you are in sales (or similar) and fear rejection. 4 Stars if you're not afraid of asking, but don't know who to ask what of.

Great Motivation

This book really helps you become optimistic and understanding how getting a “No” can be a great thing.

Great message with a story a bit exaggerated.

The book has a great message, but it over does it a little bit. The story is a bit long to get to the point, which simple but in fact very powerful. Easy ready, it can be finished in one day. I recommend it.

simple and to the point

its simple if you are afraid of asking someone to buy because you fer them saying no you will never be good at sales. the more you ask people to buy the more success you will have. in sales its our job to get someone to buy our product or service they dont just come in saying hey heres my money. if you dont ask them to buy and assume the sale there will be frew to no sales for you.

An amazing read!

I couldn’t put it down! It’s inspiring and as a network marketer has motivated me to push for as many No’s as possible! I will from now on be setting No goals instead of yes goals.

Wish I'd read this sooner!

This book is a must read for ANYONE in sales, customer acquisition/retention, or MLM. It is a relatively quick read, but thoroughly enjoyable. I was challenged to "go for no" by my Sr. Vice President prior to reading the book. I discovered that "yes" showed up when I wasn't hunting for it. I needed to meet our team's "no" quotient before the deadline and time was running out! The fear to dial disappeared because the thing I was afraid of (hearing a rejection) was now what I was searching for instead! Powerful! The authors explain why rethinking long established concepts of rejection and failure is foundational to securing success. I'm glad I purchased this book!

The cover says it all.

It’s a 1 - 2 chapters audiobook that some how they made it into a 15 chapters audiobook.

Unbelievable

As I write this recommendation for any & all to read this book, I'm amazed that as I read it, thinking I hadn't read it before, realized I had read it but must not have been ready to receive the information that I had read &, in fact, underlined! LOL! This is a book I will read over & over. I want to thank my good friend, Wayne Pekarski for reminding me! Read this book no matter what business you're in!

Excellent!!

Great for someone trying to step out of their comfort zone! I would highly recommend!! And always go for no!!

Never give up becuase of rejection.

Very go motivational book. What to look forward to and how to overcome the obstacles of rejection.

Go for No!

Good mindset. Teaches you the mindset in how and why not to be afraid and fear the word "No".

Fail exponentially

Good book and an easy read. Makes the principles behind going for no understandable and achievable. A definite must read.

Great book for those in any type of sales position!

I found this book to be enjoyable and an easy read as it tells the story of a man who meets his "future self", who ends up being quite a bit different than who he is currently. The difference boiled down to an interaction they both had with the same person and how each one took the information they received and applied it differently. This book's message is important to those in any type of sales position, be it corporate, retail or someone who is self-employed, and anyone in the field of network marketing. I highly recommend it as it is a book that I've read a few times now and get benefit from each time!

Sharpen your sword with some of the best sales advice.

Excellent advice. Took many notes.

Verrrry short. Very powerful.

Very powerful. Very short. About 1 hour. That is why I gave this 4☆'so instead of 5☆'s. I would buy this again. Just been programmed throughout life to expect an audiook to be 10 to 12 hours long. This does exactly what it is supposed to do in 1 hour, and actually, only the last 20 minutes finally get to the meat. But... those last 20 minutes are honest-to-God life changing. Wish I had this back as a young man.

I love this book!

I have listened to this book three times already and it is easy since you,can read it quickly. This book motivate it me to push thru all the rejections and go for No.

Get this esp. if in sales-This book is excellent...quality over quantity of pages

This book is one of those gems you hope you come across when you purchase a book. I received it yesterday and read it in an evening. Wow! I am in sales and absolutely hate to hear no. It's the equivalent of getting smacked in the face IMO. However, over the last few months I have begun to deal with the sting better than in the past and keep moving. I must admit they took some wind out of my sails but this book tells how to use them to empower and motivate you in a real way. No watered down garbage/fluff in this book (I guess that's why it's only a few pages). I am re-vamping my weekly sales tracking sheet to go for no goals instead yesses and will work on my no-quotient while building up the fortitude I need to reach my goals.

Go for NO!

This is a great book for everyone to read. Your age level really doesn't matter if you have a goal or dream you wish to achieve. There is a process or steps each of us should take to reach the level of success we desire. I totally recommend this book! For anyone asserting themselves in the Network Marketing Industry or attempting to build their own home business, this is an excellent read. Many of find rejection to be difficult to hear, but until a potential customer/client tells you "NO" there's always the chance of having a sell or increasing a sell. Never stop because you are satisfied with your progress or their progress in purchasing, let them say "NO" that's it, I'm done or I'm not interested. I'm going to have my teenage sons read this book when I'm done this is life lessons as well.

Go for NO!! ALWAYS

Always look for the no! It gives you that Mental Toughness to Succeed !!! When people say no let that be you catalysts for success not failure!!!

I love the way the story highlights how different a sales ...

Go for No is one of the most important mindset shifts that people in sales need in order to break through their ceilings and limiting beliefs. As a sales trainer and coach, I love the way the story highlights how different a sales career can unfold simply based on the mindset people have around handling rejection. It's part of the process, and this book highlights how to overcome one of the greatest obstacles in sales. Great job!

Go Big or Go Home!

This book, is by far the most memorable. The author(Richard Fenton), portrays himself in an alternate life. What better way to illustrate the difference in life choices?! The principles in this book are both practical, and life changing! Don't take my word for it, get a copy for yourself. You will not regret it! Two things will happen if you read this book... You will either realize what you could be doing, and do it; or choose to ignore the principals. I have used them, and they never fail to pull through.

Definitely not scared of "No's" as much as I used to be

Whenever I hear "No," I don't run and hide anymore. I now think about this book every time I hear it. No means "Not Right Now." It doesn't seem so bad. Some will. Some won't. So what? Right? I love that Go for No doesn't just go over not being so offended or afraid of No, but that you go and welcome it. He goes over how to calculate how many No's you have to get to get a Yes. No's lead to YES! So go and collect those No's! The reason why I gave it 3 stars was because I didn't like the way the book was set up. I didn't care to hear about some guy that passed out and woke up to meet his future self. There was so much of the book that was filler. Take all the golf games and the new life of his future self and wife out of the book, and it would be half the size. I didn't need a story to get the point across.

No, no, no, no, no...YES!!!

Great short lesson on how to focus on the No's needed to get to yes. I'll be changing my focus to "Go for No".

It has made me increase already.

Very informative, kept my attention. Very good read.

OMG! I LOVE THIS BOOK

There was one line in the book that resonated with me more than any other. It was the part where the future Eric told the current Eric that he needed him to make the right choices so he could exist. It made me think of my own life and some recent struggles that made me want to give up on life. Had I gave up, I wouldn't be the person I am today or experiencing the success I experience today. Whenever I'm going through a tough time from now on, I will tell myself that my future self needs me to survive and pull through my current circumstances. I also view the word no differently. Reading this book makes me unafraid to ask. I LOVE THIS BOOK!

This is truly a great book. You would think because it is so ...

This is truly a great book. You would think because it is so short there could not have very much detail within it. I was most definitely wrong! The great aspect about the book is it is not the author lecturing to the reader about how to "Go for No" it is a story of a successful business man and his journey of going from good to great all by thriving for the next "No". This is a very inspiring book and if you are a business owner, looking to become one, a sales person or any occupation that involves communication and connection with prospective buyers, this is the book for you! Enjoy! =)

Go for No

This book is helping to set a better mindset and build my business

One of Top Book I’ve read

Amazing story, information and reasoning. I already applied some of the things in this book, but never had a full understanding of what I was doing. I was going for the No’s. Now that I understand that, I can simplify my focus to being on the No’s, understanding where it’s going to lead me, the Yes’s.

"GO FOR NO" is a yes!

While we all know, no single book can change a life, only you the reader can, GO FOR NO, can inspire you to greatness. The world of network marketing is opportunity driven and this book is a home run for the novice or the pro. In my view of teaching thousands of network markers I always recommended 3 books. First the Og Mandino classic THE GREATEST SALESMAN IN THE WORLD, second Stephen R. Covey and the 7 HABITS OF HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE, and finally the book I re-wrote LESSONS FROM GREAT LIVES by Sterlng W. Sill and myself. The cumulation of education here teaches principles, habits and the value of reference points. Adding Go For No will not only accelerate the learning curve but compress the time on the journey before you arrive at your financial dreams. [...]

Best Fiction Business Book ever written

I’m a guy that loves business books and biographies. My saying is I don’t want to read fiction because I hear a lot of fiction daily in business :). Here’s the exception.... Love this book! Probably handed out 50-75 of them through the years. Premise is welcome No’s go for them, because that’s what it takes to get the YESs

Great boom

This was an amazing book. Unlike most sales books this had a story line while still teaching you about sales and going for No. The author is an amazing down to earth individual. If your looking for a twist rather then the boring sales books you will love this book

Great advice for sale or marketing.

Amazing book for anyone in a sales or marketing position. Builds on how to turn negatives into positives in your business and production.

Motivational read!

This was a great, quick and easy read. It really helps to motivate you by looking at your goals from a different perspective.

NO Time to pass this this one Great Read🏁

I’ve only read this book one time and there is so much to unpack in this easy read until I’m going to read it over and over again until it helps me peel back all the layers of bad programming that’s on me now. I highly recommend this book especially for sales people.

Worth buying this one

Parables are easy to apply to your own situation. This one makes perfect sense!

Turning over rocks until finding beauty

I strongly believe in this principle....just keep calling and prospecting. It is in the numbers. I always think of prospecting back to my experience in Iceland at age 17 walking across rocky lava fields. You can visualize turning over rock after rock with nothing of value, but somewhere there is a thing of beauty with embedded rainbow colors left by the flow. This book is helpful to several members at Exciting Windows! who do not like selling, but found that it helped them overcome their fears. Jacque Peterson in Colorado Springs introduced us to it, and we thank her for it.

Inspiring and motivating

I liked this book because as a salesman it can be hard to get told "no" often and still maintain a positive frame of mind. If you're looking to take an existing situation and turn it into a positive one. Where you're no longer scared to get rejected than this is the book for you. I promise you will start going after the big accounts. Your fear of failure will be something you surpass and focus on getting those no's. You will come from a place of confidence and not fear.

Amazing book!

This book is truly a life changer! It makes you think about the choices that you make on a daily basis and how things could be different IF you did things differently. The main character totally changed his life by stepping up and going for the NOs instead of just doing the minimum amount of work to get by. This book is for you if you are AFRAID of hearing the word NO, or are AFRAID of losing, or are AFRAID of even trying. I highly recommend this book!!

I really enjoyed this book

I really enjoyed this book. It is a quick read, but none the less inspiring. I am sure I will be reading it again and I will be recommending it to others for sure! It is not the standard "do this", but "don't do that" book. It is cleverly written to keep you interested while teaching you a valuable lesson. It can really be applied to more than just Marketing. If everybody was better equipped to handle rejection this world could be a much better place.

Great Nuggets of Encouragement

Great perspective or getting to yes. A short story on how rejection is just the beginning of acceptance. Nice read.

I recommend the book Go for No! Yes is the destination, No is how you get there.

A very successful and inspiring friend informed me this was a good and quick read and that I would find it inspiring. By the time I got half way thru, I was so uplifted, I couldn't put it down. My Friend was right, it was inspiring and I found it to be exactly what I needed to know, to really listen to what a mentor says, have no regrets on moving forward, don't get discouraged, be encouraged, staying focused on going for my goals to get what I want; I don't want to look back and say, "What if".... I loved it so much, I passed the book onto my Husband who passed it onto our Son and his wife!

Ok

Go for no!!!

A Paradigm Shift...

This book offers a new way of looking at the inevitable no's that one quite frequently hears when in sales. It's an awesome paradigm shift which is absolutely necessary if you want to become a top income earner in our field. Highly recommend!

I received delivery yesterday on Go for NO, and ...

I received delivery yesterday on Go for NO, and I have read it twice within the past 24 hours! Simple, Quick, Logical. When I first opened it, I thought it was a come-on to another sale, and it may be. But don't discount the information in this small powerful little book. Tell you what...I'm ready to try going for No! I think people will stop when they hear what I say...It will make them wonder what side of the sale they're on!

Great Read

I Will put into practice and see where it takes me. Have a whole new goal system to drive by.

Game changing perspective shifting book

More no's and more rejections lead to more overall wins. Losses are just information and the opportunity to tackle something from a different angle. A life changing read, would recommend it to everyone, whether your a salesperson or not.

Help for the Non Sales Person

I HATE to sell. It has never been my thing. One of the things that I hate most about selling is the seeming rejection I feel when a prospect (or anyone for that matter) says the dreaded word NO! These folks deliver a very simple and easy to read message about the good reasons to hear that word. Strangely, after reading this book I felt more courageous! Great literature---this is not. Straightforward lessons this is. In fact, I liked the message so much, I purchased 10 copies for my team members so they could grasp the message. With the current economic conditions, I think we all need what edge we can get and this book provides one.

For anyone in sales or network marketing, it's an absolute must buy

This book is a fantastic, powerful, and short read. =D It'll keep you entertained and at a certain point you will have your 'ah ha' moment. It's a fantastic reminder of how you need to look at your prospecting in order to be successful. For those struggling with fear, this book doesn't delve too deep into that. Fear is something that disappears when you charge right into it, and I can't tell you how good it feels after you do so. Your life will change if you read this book and take ACTION. I know mine has. I will never file a W2 for the rest of my life, and it feels good saying that.

Cut the fat!

I purchased the audiobook so this review is about that, and it's my personal opinion. The philosophy of this material (go for no) is excellent and will greatly help anyone in sales or generally in life. If you're in sales, you need to hear this today and then go live it, apply it and make it central to your thinking. However, on this CD, you have to wade through a bunch of corny stories about a fantasy trip into the future, including private jets, Pebble Beach, maids and this guys' awesome golf game. No joke. I wish they offered an abridged version with just the philosophy, "the meat" and not all the lard. Be warned, you'd need to listen to this stuff several times to get it, so you'll have to listen to this "fantasy flight" through time and space over and over too. To me, that's annoying. Caveat emptor.

Short.

It was a good short book

A must read for anyone in Sales

Absolute must for anyone in Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and especially network marketing.

Highly recommend!

Very helpful information!

Book looks new not used.

Arrived on time and in great condition.

No is not negative

I learned that a no is not forever and we should not be afraid to here no when selling. I am going to Go for No

Great price & quality

Go for No was a book recommended to me some time ago for my business. I eventually purchased it as required reading for a team training and I'm not the least bit disappointed. The story reads as a fictional book with short chapters. Real life scenario that I could relate to not only made this an ideal book for our training, but, also real life application.

It just makes SENSE!!! ...Must Read

It just makes sense....perfect sense actually. In order to break the barriers of success you have got to build up your tolerance for no! Using practical examples throughout this quick read, it shares some valuable tips on how to travel the road of seven no's to the final Yes! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is desiring success in their business, or personal life. It is a quick read, but don't go through it too fast, you wouldn't want to miss any valuable points!

This is a game change

Understanding the math of getting to no will make you infinitely more successful than going for a sales goal of yes's. Master that as well as letting the customer tell you when they are done instead of you, is priceless. This is an absolute for anyone in sales and is applicable to anyone breathing. I just can't believe it took me this long to come across this book. Consider yourself fortunate if you are reading this now. I just purchased it for my entire company! This is an absolute no brainer.

Brilliant!

I'm another who will say "just buy it". It's in the format of a fictional story, and I'm amazed by how effective this is. It's also a lesson for those in sales; Tell a story! This is one I will be reading many more times. (along with anything else I can find by these authors)

read it in two hours!!! Best two hours of my business career

I read this book in one sitting in, in two hours to be exact and it was the best thing I have done for myself and my business. I found myself having moments in the reading where I thought oh my gosh thats what I will do next to help my business. Oh I should have tried a few more times to make it work with that person. This book is written well, its full of great ideas and its hard to put down. Its a definite read for anyone in business for themselves or in mlm marketing. I am so excited and cant wait to see where I go because of this book!

"No" is not an easy thing to hear

"No" is not an easy thing to hear; no one wants to hear it...unless, of course, you flip the script and "Go for No!". Often times, it's a simple mindset switch that makes all the difference, and this book delivers that mindset shift, and more. An excellent, easily consumable read (I read it on a single Saturday morning).

The Winner Has the Most Amount of NOs!

Short read that makes the point in a touching and humorous way. I felt rejuvenated and directed to jump back into sales after reading it and go for the NO!

Really short easy read, but also really dumbed down material

Really short easy read, but also really dumbed down material. The only lesson is to have no fear of rejection. If you get rejected keep moving forward. I've often been rejected five or six times before I get a sales in door to door sales, not because they didn't want the product but because they simply didn't want to deal with me knocking on their door after a long day working. This book will help you understand the power of persistence, but in a more superficial way than other books like Brian Tracy's, The Psychology of Selling or others.

A book on how to make failure your friend.

A great book on seeing rejection and failure the right way: a learning lesson. The more you learn, the better you get. That's basically the crux of the book, but it does go into more detail, like knowing your numbers, law of large numbers, etc. You really do miss everything you don't swing at.

AMAZING AND MOTIVATIONAL

This book is a definite MUST! If you are not where you want to be in life, or feeling discouraged with any part of your life...this book is a fire starter. AMAZING AND MOTIVATIONAL. Very short read, so you can quickly reboot yourself when needed in a day by reading this! I am not in business or anything and it still helps me MOVE in my life.

Good read quality is not

The book is a good read. The quality of the book is not. The pages keep coming out as I turn the pages.

Less than 80 pages that will change your career/life

Trust me. Short read. Easily one of the top 3 books among the 30+ sales/self-psychology books I have read. Artfully written story peppers in UNDERSTANDINGs through a explanation of what you know but also feel like you are hearing for the first time.

Enigmático

Nunca antes pude visualizar el gran tamaño de la ventana de oportunidad que encierra el NO y ser un profesional en perseguirlo. Tremendo libro. Me aportó muchísimo.

It really works

It is too simple to be true but it is! I found that applying the concepts puts the focus on the activity and no is good versus the outcome. I was outcome focused prior to reading and my business suffered because of it. I find it much easier to make my calls and lots of them on a regular basis. Not to say that calling people you don't know is ever easy. A must read for anyone who has to prospect or sell using the telephone or is thinking about a sales career.

READ this book Over and Over and Over

This book will change your way of thinking. Having this book 20 years ago when I started selling would have made me millions of extra dollars Everyone says you have to have a strong mindset but this book will help you to understand much more than just a strong mindset. I am happy that I was told about the book and I look forward to using it and reading it over and over.

Awesome read

A great perspective on how one can overcome their fear of sales. Rejection is usually the scariest thing for any person or persons new to sales. Going for No helps get pass the fear of rejection obstacle. Which is the beginning of a successful sales career! Definitely reading this again

WOW! The concept I wish I knew years ago!

I am a network marketer, and this book has given me a different mentality when recruiting for my network marketing business. Go For No puts a spin on growing any business by putting a emphasis on maintaining productivity by increasing the No's. Great book, Awesome Concept, and a Book I will give to every team member so they too can be successful on my team. I wish I knew about this book 10 years ago. Thank goodness I got my hands on this invaluable info right now. Look out world I will, and always will GO FOR NO from this day forward.

Awesome! A must read for anyone who wants to become successful

Aside from the fact that it was very entertaining, there is an incredible message here: Fail! For those who want to become successful, and especially wealthy, READ THIS BOOK!

RECOMENDED FOR ANYONS AFRAID OF REJECTION.

The only reason i give it a 4 is because I felt the ending couldve been a little better, it almost felt rushed. However, i enjoyed that it was a story, it hit the marks, gave great examples on why going for your NO'S is a good thing!

After several people have recommended this book to me I ordered it

After several people have recommended this book to me I ordered it, it arrived earlier today and as soon as the children were in bed I figured I would start on it at least.. Hour later I've completed it for the first time, the first of many I would wager, what a difference in mindset, oddly enough I suffered one of its primary failures discussed today.. Never again..

Mind freaked

This book isn’t about typical sales strategies. It’s a book about shifting your mind to try more attempts. It’s gave me a different perspective on how to achieve success. I don’t think everyone will buy into the idea. But not everyone is meant to be successful

I get it

I like the author's point and I have no doubt that he has it correct. It's the old try, try and try again or that which doesn't kill us makes us stronger repackaged in a new and readable way. I don't mean to oversimplify it, but at its essence, it is just that. And also statistics. If your hit rate is 1 out of 100, for 10 hits, call 1,000 people!

Great book

This book is an easy read but impactful. Great for someone trying to move out of their comfort zone. 10/10

Stories worth the purchase alone

Prior to purchase, I felt like I knew what the book was about and didn't think I'd get much from it. Although my assumption was correct about understanding the content, the stories illustrated really drove home the concept and is something I fall back on frequently. Highly recommend this book even if you think you know what it's about. I buy a copy for all my new team members now.

A easy read - I read it in about an hour

It's a new turn on selling. A easy read - I read it in about an hour. It's a numbers game and the author explains that in the book. It was referred to me by my Mary Kay Director. She had us read the book and complete out a How Many No's Can You Get....before you get a yes. The book tries to tell you two things... getting no's are inevitable. And two - don't let them ruin your day...just go on to the next call or next person. I guess I would recommend this book for someone just getting in to sales.

Awesome!!!

This will be one of the top books in my library that I will get for every person on my team as it grows! This has got to be one of the most inspiring mind-changing concepts I have come across. When sharing my problems and fears with fellow associates before, almost all recommended this book. Several months later when I finally got it, I couldn't put it down for 2 days. I will reread this continually over the next 40 days. Thank you to the authors.

Short, simple, but too pricey for what you get.

Now, don't get me wrong, this is good, practical advice especially for those who need a little lift in their professional lives. It's simple with a lot of very short chapters. It's written as a story but basically just shoots to convey the message that in order to get more yes answers, you have to get more no's. Basically in order to do this, just increase the number of times you put yourself in front of potential clients in your sales process. Nothing spectacular and rather basic. It was a very easy read, but not for $10. This could have easily been condensed in a magazine article.

I am among those that enjoyed the format and the story itself

If you do, say, real estae rentals, this will be so-so practical. If you do apartment/home sales, this could potentially make your success ratio explode. The advise comes through in a non-condescending way, and the story format makesnit enagung to read. I am among those that enjoyed the format and the story itself.

Good little booklet.

Great concepts! Go for no! Simple. Not rocket science. Short easy read:)

A must read!

This book is very short and only took about an hour to read but it's life changing. Most people are afraid of rejection and because of that NEVER ASK FOR WHAT THEY WANT. This book teaches you to get over that fear ~ Make getting NO's a game! I am in direct sales. Prior to reading this book, I was afraid to ask people if they were interested in hosting a gathering. Granted I still have my "afraid moments" but I started asking. And, people who I THOUGHT was going to say NO, actually ended up saying YES! Great BOOK. a Must Read!!

Very Insightful

Great read! You will enjoy the book. Helps you to have a shift in mindset. Great for all those who fear the word NO!

Go for no...seriously!

Amazing book that inspires and motivates us to look at things in a different manner. I can appreciate this approach to network marketing.

This is NOT a Sales book, this is a LIFE book. Prepare to learn and take lessons away that will help permanently

We use this book for our business team. It has helped create a clear perspective on the activities that produce the results that you're looking for. But also, and perhaps more important, is the mindset of those actions. Doing the right action with the wrong intentions doesn't usually work out. Prepare to have your mindset put in proper perspective and this book will truly help you get whatever results you are looking for.

Great book!

I liked the format of the book - not heavy or preachy and does make you question your beliefs about success, failure and their place in our life. Bottom line- you can’t have one without the other.

Great Book!

Determine your closing ratio and apply it to your desire to be successful. Don’t be afraid to bump your nose. Bumping your noses helps you learn and eventually break the glass or it will be removed. Get at least 5 no’s and a yes is sure to come.

A clever message hidden in an easy to read story

Food for thought on how to change your approach to sales. A clever message hidden in an easy to read story. Anyone who sells zhould read and apply this book.

Simple but a good reminder to "make the calls"

I am in sales and sometimes need to feed my mind with thoughts to keep making those prospect calls. This book while not complex reinforces a good tactic to get sales success. If you are looking for an in-depth discussion, this is not the book for you. If you need a little boost then I believe this book can accomplish the goal.

it was still a good read. It will challenge most people into a ...

I didn't put this book down until it was done. Even though it was a little predictable, it was still a good read. It will challenge most people into a new way of thinking. It will take me more than one day to change that for sure!

Change Your Philosophies - Change your success

I highly recommend this book for anyone who is having difficulty in their business and not achieving the degree of success that they wish to have, especially if you are in sales. This book gives you a postive prospective on the negative side of talking to clients, prospects and building a successful career in business. Due to the philosophies I learned in this book it has totally changed the way I handle rejection and my approach to growing my book of business. Thank You so Much and I look forward to any future books and/or products!

Great read!!

Purchased for my sales team. I was able to see the author at OutBound! 2019. A great way to think about getting to the yes in a sales environment.

I LOVED this book

I LOVED this book!!! I had never thought about the concepts of its teaching. The book read more like a narrative instead of informational which made it more interesting and easy to read. I tend to forget concepts that I haven't revisited, but I still apply the skills in this book in my daily leadership. I would definitely recommend this book.

One of my absolute favorite books!

I love this book. Such an easy concept and very well written. I recommend all of my clients purchase this book and implement Go For No in their businesses. Only problem is I keep giving my copy away.
