You can build glutes! At any age! Transform your physique!

Bret’s book will transform you mentally, physically, and help you achieve the physique of your dreams! I have been training with Bret for nearly 2 years. I didn’t even start physique training until I was 46 (pics on left) and now 48 years old I became a pro fitness competitor. All because of Bret’s strength training and glute building methods. No crazy supplements, no steroids, no magic pill.... just following his methods and this book! It’s a must read. I have never had so much life balance and happiness in my life. This book also touches on nutrition, which is key to building muscle. Bret is one of the most brilliant and passionate people I know and his book shares all of his research that works!! My photos say it all. But this book and achieve anything you desire.

Useless as a workout guide. Perfect for science geek

I returned this book. I wanted a workout manual filled with exercises. This is literally an Anatomy & Physiology textbook of the glutes. That’s fine if you’re a science geek and want all the details on muscle fibers and how & why a movement is necessary for specific muscles and all that jazz. Only about 15-20% of the book is useful to someone who just wants exercises. The rest is Bret’s life story as well as science and research. It’s so huge and cumbersome that i wouldn’t take this anywhere

A Must Buy For Glute Training!

This is by far the most informative book on glute training out there! 608 pages detailing training splits, biomechanics, anatomy, dieting strategies, breaking plateaus, and so much more. Not only is the information backed by research, but you have Bret Contreras' 20+ years of personal training experience poured in here as well!

This should be subtitled The Booty Bible

I wanted to completely finish reading this before leaving a review just to make sure the whole thing was as good as the beginning, and quite honestly, it was even better than expected. This has to be the most complete and comprehensive book on glutes ever conceived. (It might also be the most helpful book about training that I’ve ever read.) There is NOTHING about the glutes that isn’t covered here: anatomy, mechanics, functionality, training, sample workouts, exercise descriptions. Bret goes into how he constructs (and personalizes) workouts for his clients, so if you’re looking to create your own workout, this will tell you how. He not only goes into the how but the why behind each recommendation, so you understand every exercise and variation and how it will work for you (which I find makes my workouts more productive). I am NOT any kind of fitness competitor or athlete; I’m just a normal woman who would like her hips and back to stop hurting (and who wouldn’t mind regaining the fullness I once had round back). I work out in my basement, and I don’t have a lot of equipment, but I’ve been following the programs in Bret’s other book, Strong Curves, for about 4 months, and the gains I’ve made in strength are pretty damn amazing. I can only see those gains increasing after reading Glute Lab. This book was admittedly quite dense and I wondered how long it was going to take me to read, but it goes quickly, and it kept me riveted the whole time. The writing style is personable and although the content gets scientific, it’s never hard to understand. There are excellent descriptions and photos of all the exercises, and the infographics make pertinent information easy to find. If you’re a fan of Bret’s work, or if you’re just hungry for quality information on glute growth, I can’t recommend this book highly enough.

An Absolute Must!!

I remember when I first discovered Bret on Instagram. I began doing some of the workout videos he posted. I then proceeded to buy his Strong Curves book and complete those programs; which were very different to how I had been training for he past 6 years. His training methods worked wonders for me, so I went ahead and joined his Booty by Bret online. I was ecstatic whenever he made the announcement of his new book. I am already a two chapters in, and I love everything about it. The breakdown of everything that he researches, the scientific sections, the diagrams, the explanations, the photos of exercises are beautiful. This book is truly written for all types of people, whether you’re a beginner or advanced. Bret is always sharing knowledge that I continue to use in my training and see improvements. I 150% recommend this book!

After Arnold, no-one one has had a bigger impact on the weight training world than Bret Contreras. His invention and popularizing of the hip thrust exercise, and of glute training in general, has radically changed whats going on inside gyms around the world. Not just for women; even the guys have caught on now. At my gym the hip thrusters are now being used by bikini competitors, male bodybuilders and StrongMen competitors alike. That said, don't fall into the trap of thinking that the "Glute Guy" only knows glute training. Contreras does active research on training in general, and his general teachings has relevance for all muscle groups. The book is a well of information, containing both theory and practical advice, and even though it goes enough in depth to satisfy even fitness nerds like me, it is written in a very accessible style. If you're at all interested in glute training, the book is worth buying for the chapter with exercise descriptions / tips alone. It covers all glute exercises you can think of, as well as general lower body exercises like squats with variations, deadlifts with variations, lunges with variations, etc. But that is only a small part of the book; it also contains theory about what makes muscles grow, about diet, and even lays out complete training programs, which is something many training book authors often skimp on. I suppose what best sums up how good I think the book is, is the fact that I've ordered 18 more copies; one for each of my coaching colleagues. :)

I am a Bret Contreras fan so I couldn’t wait for this book to come out. It is fantastic! It is well organized and comprehensive, but broken down int easily consumable bits. He includes tons of pictures and explanations. If you want to train effectively and efficiently get this book. You won’t learn just what to do, but why you do it. He gives many workout programs for many different workout styles so those of us on a budget get extra value. I already had his Strong Curves book so I wondered if I’d be wasting my $ on this one. While many of the principles are unchanged, this new book gives you so much more. I am so glad I have it and I’d encourage anyone considering it to buy it. I am confident you will use it and refer back to it for years to come.

I’ve purchased Vicky Justiz workout guidelines/plans, Workouts by Katya Elise Henry and so many other else and this is by far THE MOST INFORMATIVE, ALL IN ONE, GLUTE-BOOTY BUILDING BIBLE. We all need to know the cause and effect of what we’re doing, most especially when it comes to your workouts. Why you do a certain exercise/ what muscles it targets, how to properly execute it, and some other things that are very important to reaching your goal is now in our reach because Bret “the glute guy” laid everything in this book. Evidence based knowledge, studies, workout programs etc.. He is an expert in this area, he’s got the PhD and years of experience that’s why I trust him. Compared to others who just sell workout plans/exercises for expensive prices, which I find lacking of the very important information needed for a quality,effective and safe workouts/guidelines. This book is very cheap for all the knowledge/time/effort that Bret put into this book. I am very grateful to the author for all the hardwork you did and by selling it for a very affordable price for everyone. PS I am not related to Bret, I am not paid to give this review. I just put in writing the truth after having purchased different books and workout guidelines from alot of well-known newbie booty builders out there.. The pinnacle of glute training

I've followed Bret and his work for years, utilizing his methods from Strong Curves, and have always found him to be both passionate and thorough in his devotion to the science of glute training.... But this book blew me away! It's got answers to questions I never even thought to ask about the subject. At over 600 pages, this may well be the definitive text on glute development for many years to come. If you're at all interested in the subject, you'll probably be geeking out like me as you flip through it, and then rushing to the gym to get to work.

This should be subtitled The Booty Bible

I wanted to completely finish reading this before leaving a review just to make sure the whole thing was as good as the beginning, and quite honestly, it was even better than expected. This has to be the most complete and comprehensive book on glutes ever conceived. (It might also be the most helpful book about training that I’ve ever read.) There is NOTHING about the glutes that isn’t covered here: anatomy, mechanics, functionality, training, sample workouts, exercise descriptions. Bret goes into how he constructs (and personalizes) workouts for his clients, so if you’re looking to create your own workout, this will tell you how. He not only goes into the how but the why behind each recommendation, so you understand every exercise and variation and how it will work for you (which I find makes my workouts more productive). I am NOT any kind of fitness competitor or athlete; I’m just a normal woman who would like her hips and back to stop hurting (and who wouldn’t mind regaining the fullness I once had round back). I work out in my basement, and I don’t have a lot of equipment, but I’ve been following the programs in Bret’s other book, Strong Curves, for about 4 months, and the gains I’ve made in strength are pretty damn amazing. I can only see those gains increasing after reading Glute Lab. This book was admittedly quite dense and I wondered how long it was going to take me to read, but it goes quickly, and it kept me riveted the whole time. The writing style is personable and although the content gets scientific, it’s never hard to understand. There are excellent descriptions and photos of all the exercises, and the infographics make pertinent information easy to find. If you’re a fan of Bret’s work, or if you’re just hungry for quality information on glute growth, I can’t recommend this book highly enough.

An Absolute Must!!

I remember when I first discovered Bret on Instagram. I began doing some of the workout videos he posted. I then proceeded to buy his Strong Curves book and complete those programs; which were very different to how I had been training for he past 6 years. His training methods worked wonders for me, so I went ahead and joined his Booty by Bret online. I was ecstatic whenever he made the announcement of his new book. I am already a two chapters in, and I love everything about it. The breakdown of everything that he researches, the scientific sections, the diagrams, the explanations, the photos of exercises are beautiful. This book is truly written for all types of people, whether you’re a beginner or advanced. Bret is always sharing knowledge that I continue to use in my training and see improvements. I 150% recommend this book!

Best book on training you will find

After Arnold, no-one one has had a bigger impact on the weight training world than Bret Contreras. His invention and popularizing of the hip thrust exercise, and of glute training in general, has radically changed whats going on inside gyms around the world. Not just for women; even the guys have caught on now. At my gym the hip thrusters are now being used by bikini competitors, male bodybuilders and StrongMen competitors alike. That said, don't fall into the trap of thinking that the "Glute Guy" only knows glute training. Contreras does active research on training in general, and his general teachings has relevance for all muscle groups. The book is a well of information, containing both theory and practical advice, and even though it goes enough in depth to satisfy even fitness nerds like me, it is written in a very accessible style. If you're at all interested in glute training, the book is worth buying for the chapter with exercise descriptions / tips alone. It covers all glute exercises you can think of, as well as general lower body exercises like squats with variations, deadlifts with variations, lunges with variations, etc. But that is only a small part of the book; it also contains theory about what makes muscles grow, about diet, and even lays out complete training programs, which is something many training book authors often skimp on. I suppose what best sums up how good I think the book is, is the fact that I've ordered 18 more copies; one for each of my coaching colleagues. :)

Detailed and generous gift to anyone looking for great glutes

I am a Bret Contreras fan so I couldn’t wait for this book to come out. It is fantastic! It is well organized and comprehensive, but broken down int easily consumable bits. He includes tons of pictures and explanations. If you want to train effectively and efficiently get this book. You won’t learn just what to do, but why you do it. He gives many workout programs for many different workout styles so those of us on a budget get extra value. I already had his Strong Curves book so I wondered if I’d be wasting my $ on this one. While many of the principles are unchanged, this new book gives you so much more. I am so glad I have it and I’d encourage anyone considering it to buy it. I am confident you will use it and refer back to it for years to come.

I’ve purchased Vicky Justiz workout guidelines/plans, Workouts by Katya Elise Henry and so many other else and this is by far THE MOST INFORMATIVE, ALL IN ONE, GLUTE-BOOTY BUILDING BIBLE. We all need to know the cause and effect of what we’re doing, most especially when it comes to your workouts. Why you do a certain exercise/ what muscles it targets, how to properly execute it, and some other things that are very important to reaching your goal is now in our reach because Bret “the glute guy” laid everything in this book. Evidence based knowledge, studies, workout programs etc.. He is an expert in this area, he’s got the PhD and years of experience that’s why I trust him. Compared to others who just sell workout plans/exercises for expensive prices, which I find lacking of the very important information needed for a quality,effective and safe workouts/guidelines. This book is very cheap for all the knowledge/time/effort that Bret put into this book. I am very grateful to the author for all the hardwork you did and by selling it for a very affordable price for everyone. PS I am not related to Bret, I am not paid to give this review. I just put in writing the truth after having purchased different books and workout guidelines from alot of well-known newbie booty builders out there.. The pinnacle of glute training

I've followed Bret and his work for years, utilizing his methods from Strong Curves, and have always found him to be both passionate and thorough in his devotion to the science of glute training.... But this book blew me away! It's got answers to questions I never even thought to ask about the subject. At over 600 pages, this may well be the definitive text on glute development for many years to come. If you're at all interested in the subject, you'll probably be geeking out like me as you flip through it, and then rushing to the gym to get to work.

You can build glutes! At any age! Transform your physique!

Bret’s book will transform you mentally, physically, and help you achieve the physique of your dreams! I have been training with Bret for nearly 2 years. I didn’t even start physique training until I was 46 (pics on left) and now 48 years old I became a pro fitness competitor. All because of Bret’s strength training and glute building methods. No crazy supplements, no steroids, no magic pill.... just following his methods and this book! It’s a must read. I have never had so much life balance and happiness in my life. This book also touches on nutrition, which is key to building muscle. Bret is one of the most brilliant and passionate people I know and his book shares all of his research that works!! My photos say it all. But this book and achieve anything you desire.

Useless as a workout guide. Perfect for science geek

I returned this book. I wanted a workout manual filled with exercises. This is literally an Anatomy & Physiology textbook of the glutes. That’s fine if you’re a science geek and want all the details on muscle fibers and how & why a movement is necessary for specific muscles and all that jazz. Only about 15-20% of the book is useful to someone who just wants exercises. The rest is Bret’s life story as well as science and research. It’s so huge and cumbersome that i wouldn’t take this anywhere

A Must Buy For Glute Training!

This is by far the most informative book on glute training out there! 608 pages detailing training splits, biomechanics, anatomy, dieting strategies, breaking plateaus, and so much more. Everything you could possibly need to know about the best science backed ,evidence based ,way to develop your body in the smartest way! I have been using his training methods for the last 2 years and it has definitely changed body! Even at 58 years old I am still constantly improving training this way.Love everything about it!

Impressive

This is really an impressive offering. If you follow Bret Contreras on Instagram, you have already received a ton of free knowledge from him. He's put all of that and more into this book, and it's quite impressive. I was initially just impressed by the weight of it. Obviously, that's no real indication of how good the book is going to be, but this thing is dense. Bret definitely gets into the why you need to train glutes, how it all works, and how to put it into practice. The whole book is about 600 pages, and you get 200 pages of exercises. He has so many variations described there, and in such detail, where that would probably be worth the price alone. But there's so much more. Overall, I'm really happy I pre-ordered this book and was not disappointed to get it. I'm really loving how much stuff is in here and can't wait to put it all into practice.

This book is honestly AMAZING!

I follow Bret on Insta so once I saw he wrote this book I snatched it up as quickly as I could (and boy am I glad I did!) :) I'm a taller athlete coming back from a knee injury. This book not only gives exercises to help build a stronger lower body, it also explains how to correct your form when you feel pain in certain areas. I love learning the science behind each exercise, how to design my own program, what results to look for and how to change my program according to progress I'd like to see. I'm learning how to perfect the basics without compromising form as I progress. I'd seriously recommend this book to anyone interested in building a solid foundation in their lower body. It has me even more excited for leg days because I can finally understand what and why I'm doing my program!

Absolutely Phenomenal! If you want to invest in your body - get this book.

I bought this book a couple months back mainly just because I'm a Contreras fan. I have the previous Strong Curves and figured this manual would be more updates on the same - I was wrong. Strong Curves is great, but Glute Lab is so comprehensive. I also love that Contreras provides research and in-depth information, but also cautions the reader again and again that individual differences always exist and some research is also inconclusive - so the field is growing, we are always learning and the only thing we can really "rely" on is building self-awareness with our own bodies. There's a lot of "information" out there about training, but this book really consolidates and presents the KEY information in a very applicable way. I am not an advanced lifter and I work out at home not the gym - would still recommend it as a read just based on the foundational principles and information on training alone. Classical Pilates is my first love, but Glute Lab is a close second. So good, so helpful. I cannot wait to train!

Content is good but poor craftsmanship.

The product and information is great. I do with there were more details plans to use for each program. It would’ve added extra umph and no brainer-Ness to things for those of us that create our own programs, but get stale on occasion and like to reference something already established. The reason for the 3 stars is because within a week of opening and closing the book while reading it... half of the pages dislodged from the spine/cover making the book more challenging when opening and now it won’t even close correctly. Makes it extremely inconvenient and challenging when trying to read it since this happened, which again was very shortly after purchasing.

A must own book

As a strength trainer and gym owner, I’d rate this book as SUPERB. First of all, it’s about much much more than glutes. Rather, there is useful training science here for every scenario. More so and better presented than you’ll find in 98% of other fitness/training/strength guidebooks. The graphics are beautifully done in terms of communicative value. The writing is clear, comprehensive, and comprehensible. The advice is practical, applicable, and just damn interesting to read if training is an important part of your life. There are 100’s of nuances and tips on training modes and variables I’d never really seen articulated like this before. The book never becomes a stuffy snobby science class like that monster “Supertraining” by Siff and Verhansh...sp?). Rather, this encyclopedia (what it really deserves to be called) is a seminal work, on level of Rippetoe’s Starting Strength, Dan John’s best work, and (IMO) Enter the Kettlebell etc by Pavel. In short, great work. Costs less than a meal for two at a restaurant and offers a lifetime of useful advice. Only complaint, not really a complaint but just ironic, it’s l-o-n-g...500+ pages, no waste, so you’ll need gumption to read through entirely, but isn’t that so for most things worth doing?

The science and methods to bigger glutes!

My husband asked me what I wanted for our anniversary and I told him I want a bigger butt! So...he got me this book! I started crying with joy and happiness because I really wanted this book since Bret spoke about it. I’ve been following Bret and his brain for a bit now and I enjoy every advice he gives us. Now, I get to have his booty brain in the palms of my hands!! I did not know how BIG this book was going to be! I guess you cannot get a bigger booty without a big book 😂. I love the science he placed behind this booty guide. He really studied and researched his stuff. How can you not listen and follow everything he has to say if you want a bigger booty? Who doesn’t want a bigger booty?! Thank you Bret for sharing your knowledge! This book provides a workout template and also the techniques needed for each exercise. It’s so overwhelming but not disappointing at all. I expected no less form Bret! Thank you for giving me hope for my booty. I’m asian and I don’t have genetics on my side but with his book, I know I can achieve the goal I want!

Strong glutes, strong mom!

Wow! This book is amazing! I am a mom of four and really want to get back into shape. I don’t have time to go to the gym and get a personal trainer, but I still want to know what I am doing. This book has more info than I would ever get from a personal trainer where I live. Bret has poured so much valuable information into this book. It has so much valuable information that can’t be found elsewhere. I am a little bit of a science nerd, so the fact that he discusses the studies where he was able to pin point which move helps glute growth most, with actual numbers and measurable outcomes makes me so happy! I wish everyone would get this book because the glutes are really the foundation for a strong body. Without strong glutes we start have knee pain, lower back pain, pelvic floor problems and the list goes on. And yes I said pelvic floor. Ladies! Are you listening? This book shows different moves that my pelvic floor physical therapist told me I need to incorporate into my training. So this book is so much more than training to get bigger glutes (although that will happen). Bottom line. Get the book if you care about how to properly take care of your body at the gym. You won’t regret it!

Overdelivers and gives hope for the butt challenges

I love Bret’s first book “Strong Curves” and highly recommend you buy that as a lead in. But this one really gets into the deeper details AND extensive exercises (even beyond Strong Curves). I’m logic based and need to know the why to get motivated. I also like that it’s a great balance of giving you the straight scoop (you need to do a little heavier lifting beyond body weight) plus permission NOT to overtrain. I’m almost 50, very lean (aka butt challenged) but also responsibly dedicated to my health and workouts. I got great ROI from Strong Curves years ago. I’m super excited to dedicated the next 6 months to see if I can grow my butt back and be proud to walk away naked.

The Bible of Glutes

I’ve followed Contreras for at least a decade and the man knows glutes. He’s the foremost expert. From his videos to his writings, he has shaped his craft well and provides all the essentials one needs to sculpt the shape and performance from the glutes. I have his Hip Thruster and Short barbell for the lifts and it works great. If you are looking for the Bible of building glutes this is it. He goes deeper into the training aspect than most people will need but more information is better. If you’re a glute training follower, there’s a lot in the book you likely already know but there are insights and tips that made the book worth the purchase for me. If you’re new to the subject or to the training, it’s a must have.

I’ve purchased Vicky Justiz workout guidelines/plans, Workouts by Katya Elise Henry and so many other else and this is by far THE MOST INFORMATIVE, ALL IN ONE, GLUTE-BOOTY BUILDING BIBLE. We all need to know the cause and effect of what we’re doing, most especially when it comes to your workouts. Why you do a certain exercise/ what muscles it targets, how to properly execute it, and some other things that are very important to reaching your goal is now in our reach because Bret “the glute guy” laid everything in this book. Evidence based knowledge, studies, workout programs etc.. He is an expert in this area, he’s got the PhD and years of experience that’s why I trust him. Compared to others who just sell workout plans/exercises for expensive prices, which I find lacking of the very important information needed for a quality,effective and safe workouts/guidelines. This book is very cheap for all the knowledge/time/effort that Bret put into this book. I am very grateful to the author for all the hardwork you did and by selling it for a very affordable price for everyone. PS I am not related to Bret, I am not paid to give this review. The pinnacle of glute training

I've followed Bret and his work for years, utilizing his methods from Strong Curves, and have always found him to be both passionate and thorough in his devotion to the science of glute training.... But this book blew me away! It's got answers to questions I never even thought to ask about the subject. At over 600 pages, this may well be the definitive text on glute development for many years to come. If you're at all interested in the subject, you'll probably be geeking out like me as you flip through it, and then rushing to the gym to get to work.

Only 5 chapters in but so far its great!

I am a personal trainer and love how this book goes both into scientific research as well as general knowledge and information for someone who maybe doesn't understand anatomy or training lingo. I really appreciate Bret's knowledge and honesty when it comes to his approach especially when discussing form, volume, loads, etc. I've learned alot more about the make up of the glutes reading this alone. I am excited to continue reading the rest. only downside for me personally is that the book is huge, and hard to carry around making it awkward to read unless your home. Hopeful for a PDF version or soft cover.

Absolute genius

This book is life changing. If you buy only one fitness book, you need to buy this. Brett takes the complexity out of working out and makes it simple. He teaches you how to achieve the best results that are visible very quickly. He combines all of the essential information for getting results, and lists it all within these pages. From exercise technique to program design, it is all here. You simply must buy this book, as well as his other two, if you truly want to achieve greatness in your fitness.

Not just for building - reshape and strengthen your glutes!

I’ve been following Bret for a few years now and he does not disappoint with this book! I have always been self conscious of my butt. Unlike a lot of transformations/clients I had a booty prior to discovering Bret and the hip thrust. I have a pair shape and carry most of my weight in my butt, thighs, and legs. Even with a BMI of 21-22 I had a sagging butt with poor shape and saddle bags. I gained about 20 pounds 2-3 years ago and this further accentuated the problem. I lost the weight pretty quickly, but finally put the work in and completely transformed my rear. For the first time ever I see my butt as an asset not a a figure ruining part of my body. I’m implementing this book to further refine my shape, I hope to lift my butt a bit more, build some more volume in my upper glutes, and level out my quad dominance. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves the gym as well as newbies!

A must have!!!

This book is like the holy grail of Glute Training. You can almost feel Bret passion and endless hours as your fingers turn every page. Pretty frickin cool if you ask me. Inside you will find a wealth of information to transform your body! It could easily go Glute to Glute with any strength and conditioning text book assigned for a college course. But this book is very unique, and a stand alone amongst the greatest fitness influences of modern time. I’m So proud of you Bret!!! And thank you for all your contributions to the fitness world!!!

Best money ever spent!

I’ve been following this man online for a few years, and he’s always on top of the latest and greatest when it comes to Glute science. So when I heard he wrote a book I was so excited and when one of my favorite female fitness personalities Chrisanna said she was using his book.. well I had to get my own. I did not expect this thing to be anywhere near as huge as it was. So it’s safe to say that for the amount of money you’re getting ALOTTTT of info. It’s as thick as an encyclopedia. And it’s full of so much info that most body builders rarely ever talk about. You will vaguely get these things explained in body building forums, or mansplained in a very complicated way. Bret breaks down the info in the most simple terms possible, everything is easy to understand. I’ve wasted so much money on crappy IG fitfluencer train like me programs that are one size fits all, and end up doing more harm than good. This is the best money I ever spent on a fitness related book. Also bought the Glute Loop and it’s awesome to use along with the book. This will be considered a fitness bible in the future for sure.

Best Strength Training Guide!!!

This book is everything you could dream of and more! It's like the quality of one of those really expensive college textbook you had to buy for $300-400, but this is something that you can use forever. It has so much more content than I expected. It talks about the anatomy, breaks down the different variations you could implement into your workout, dieting, tons of advice and tips, explanations of exercises, the list is endless. I am really thankful for all the work that went into this book because it is going to help tremendously. I think the price is so low that there would be no question on whether or not to see if it's worth the read. Hands down the best information all one place!!!

Great Resource from an Author I Trust

I've been following Bret's work since he was a crazy person shoving research folders into the hands of T-nation editors and he's never been the type to take shortcuts. He's your favorite influencer's favorite coach, and not for nothing. This book is long, I mean like textbook long, and dense enough to take notes on. Interested in a few fun stories, pictures of butts, and a tip or two? go follow him on Instagram. This book is an open love letter to the posterior chain and a resource of significant value; it's more expensive than most best selling paperbacks because you're getting a whole lot more. I'm confident that if you read this cover to cover and digest even half of it you'll be better informed than most people at your gym.

Full of information, but all over the place

This book is a good book to read for general information. I found that the book is written in the way he speaks in interviews: all over the place and sometimes I don’t even know if he answered the question (or in the book’s case, is he still talking about what the section was supposed to?). He also talks over and over again about hip thrusts (like his interviews), and we kind of got the point that it is one of the best glute exercises by the third or fourth page. Throughout the book it is like tangents on hip thrusts in random sections. Like I said, this book is a great resource but maybe someone could have helped him edit it to be less tangential and a little bit more organized and flow better. Overall, I like the book and it is worth it the purchase.

Don’t hesitate! Buy it.

This book is worth every penny. I would have paid much more for it. As someone who has always joked that I have no butt but a back with a crack, I have wanted to build my glutes for awhile which is how I found Bret online. To an outsider you would think I have a tiny butt but if you could have only seen it before when you could see my entire butt bone. I am excited to use what I have learned not only on my clients but also myself as I amp up training. If you love reading about training and learning science as techniques, don’t hesitate about buying. It gets a 10/10.

Great book, uncomfortable presentation

It is a really good book, full of scientific background for the excercises and options for doing them depending on your body type (I specifically love this, thanks a lot Bret!), but I hate that it comes in hard cover only, and it’s gigantic!! so it is very uncomfortable to carry around for reading and consulting.

Bret’s book will transform you mentally, physically, and help you achieve the physique of your dreams! I have been training with Bret for nearly 2 years. I didn’t even start physique training until I was 46 (pics on left) and now 48 years old I became a pro fitness competitor. All because of Bret’s strength training and glute building methods. No crazy supplements, no steroids, no magic pill.... just following his methods and this book! It’s a must read. I have never had so much life balance and happiness in my life. This book also touches on nutrition, which is key to building muscle. Bret is one of the most brilliant and passionate people I know and his book shares all of his research that works!! My photos say it all. But this book and achieve anything you desire.

Useless as a workout guide. Perfect for science geek

I returned this book. I wanted a workout manual filled with exercises. This is literally an Anatomy & Physiology textbook of the glutes. That’s fine if you’re a science geek and want all the details on muscle fibers and how & why a movement is necessary for specific muscles and all that jazz. Only about 15-20% of the book is useful to someone who just wants exercises. The rest is Bret’s life story as well as science and research. It’s so huge and cumbersome that i wouldn’t take this anywhere

A Must Buy For Glute Training!

This is by far the most informative book on glute training out there! 608 pages detailing training splits, biomechanics, anatomy, dieting strategies, breaking plateaus, and so much more. Not only is the information backed by research, but you have Bret Contreras' 20+ years of personal training experience poured in here as well!

This should be subtitled The Booty Bible

I wanted to completely finish reading this before leaving a review just to make sure the whole thing was as good as the beginning, and quite honestly, it was even better than expected. This has to be the most complete and comprehensive book on glutes ever conceived. (It might also be the most helpful book about training that I’ve ever read.) There is NOTHING about the glutes that isn’t covered here: anatomy, mechanics, functionality, training, sample workouts, exercise descriptions. Bret goes into how he constructs (and personalizes) workouts for his clients, so if you’re looking to create your own workout, this will tell you how. He not only goes into the how but the why behind each recommendation, so you understand every exercise and variation and how it will work for you (which I find makes my workouts more productive). I am NOT any kind of fitness competitor or athlete; I’m just a normal woman who would like her hips and back to stop hurting (and who wouldn’t mind regaining the fullness I once had round back). I work out in my basement, and I don’t have a lot of equipment, but I’ve been following the programs in Bret’s other book, Strong Curves, for about 4 months, and the gains I’ve made in strength are pretty damn amazing. I can only see those gains increasing after reading Glute Lab. This book was admittedly quite dense and I wondered how long it was going to take me to read, but it goes quickly, and it kept me riveted the whole time. The writing style is personable and although the content gets scientific, it’s never hard to understand. There are excellent descriptions and photos of all the exercises, and the infographics make pertinent information easy to find. If you’re a fan of Bret’s work, or if you’re just hungry for quality information on glute growth, I can’t recommend this book highly enough.

An Absolute Must!!

I remember when I first discovered Bret on Instagram. I began doing some of the workout videos he posted. I then proceeded to buy his Strong Curves book and complete those programs; which were very different to how I had been training for he past 6 years. His training methods worked wonders for me, so I went ahead and joined his Booty by Bret online. I was ecstatic whenever he made the announcement of his new book. I am already a two chapters in, and I love everything about it. The breakdown of everything that he researches, the scientific sections, the diagrams, the explanations, the photos of exercises are beautiful. This book is truly written for all types of people, whether you’re a beginner or advanced. Bret is always sharing knowledge that I continue to use in my training and see improvements. I 150% recommend this book!

After Arnold, no-one one has had a bigger impact on the weight training world than Bret Contreras. His invention and popularizing of the hip thrust exercise, and of glute training in general, has radically changed whats going on inside gyms around the world. Not just for women; even the guys have caught on now. At my gym the hip thrusters are now being used by bikini competitors, male bodybuilders and StrongMen competitors alike. That said, don't fall into the trap of thinking that the "Glute Guy" only knows glute training. Contreras does active research on training in general, and his general teachings has relevance for all muscle groups. The book is a well of information, containing both theory and practical advice, and even though it goes enough in depth to satisfy even fitness nerds like me, it is written in a very accessible style. If you're at all interested in glute training, the book is worth buying for the chapter with exercise descriptions / tips alone. It covers all glute exercises you can think of, as well as general lower body exercises like squats with variations, deadlifts with variations, lunges with variations, etc. But that is only a small part of the book; it also contains theory about what makes muscles grow, about diet, and even lays out complete training programs, which is something many training book authors often skimp on. I suppose what best sums up how good I think the book is, is the fact that I've ordered 18 more copies; one for each of my coaching colleagues. :)

Detailed and generous gift to anyone looking for great glutes

I am a Bret Contreras fan so I couldn’t wait for this book to come out. It is fantastic! It is well organized and comprehensive, but broken down int easily consumable bits. He includes tons of pictures and explanations. If you want to train effectively and efficiently get this book. You won’t learn just what to do, but why you do it. He gives many workout programs for many different workout styles so those of us on a budget get extra value. I already had his Strong Curves book so I wondered if I’d be wasting my $ on this one. While many of the principles are unchanged, this new book gives you so much more. I am so glad I have it and I’d encourage anyone considering it to buy it. I am confident you will use it and refer back to it for years to come.

Faulty binding

Product arrived with a faulty/ripped binding. I don’t have the time to return it, but it’s disappointing when it was an expensive book. I’m hoping the content is good.

Incredible resource

This book is nothing short of amazing. It is dense - I have had it about a month and in all honesty I have not read the entire book cover to cover. I started with the workouts and have been reading mostly about the science behind some of the exercises as well as tips to optimizing performance on these exercises. You will 100% get what you pay for. For reference, I am a 40 yo active duty female and almost 2 years postpartum. I started with the novice program because I really wanted to improve my form. I would just add resistance bands and dumbbells as I got more comfortable. You can absolutely add modifications and I've definitely used the Glute Lab YouTube videos for referencing. I bought the book before the whole COVID-19 collapse and it has been a lifesaver during this as we are in Italy and cannot even go outside for a walk. Thank you so much and congratulations on an exceptional piece of work!!

Glutes Are Great!

I preordered this book in July. It has not disappointed! I thought I would be getting a thin paperback book. I got a virtual glue exercise encyclopedia! It is a very well written comprehensive guide to your rear ended including the science and exercise to maximize flute growth. I’m not a trainer, but I recognize technical language when I see it. This book is for both the professional trainer and the individual looking to grow their knowledge regarding flutes!

If you buy one fitness book, let it be this one

Like many people who bought this book, I started as a beginner with Bret Contreras' earlier book, Strong Curves. Strong Curves was essentially my fitness bible. The Glute Lab takes everything that I loved about Strong Curves and multiples it by ten. It's a hefty book, but the beauty is that you can flip around the well organized sections and start working out right away even as you work your way through the theory, background, research, and other advice on your own terms. Contreras' advice is so logical, practical, and realistic - his science backed programs and advice were instrumental in my decision to stop following silly fitness fads and diets. The Glute Lab is going to be invaluable for anyone who reads it, regardless of gender, current fitness level, background, etc., but as a woman it's particularly impactful to learn that you don't have to run yourself ragged or starve yourself to be "fit" and "healthy".

Worth its weight in gold

I have followed Bret since 2011 he has always been a guy willing to get in the trenches and find out what works well and why. This book is a culmination of years of knowledge and dedication to growing glutes. It's not all he knows about but it is what most know him for. The first thing is the size of the book it is enormous and the quality and contents of information is beyond anything I could have ever imagined. Thorough isn't even an adequate description I don't know if there is one that comes to mind. Regardless of your training age or gender, this book will ensure that if you follow his principles your glutes will grow. He can be our patron Saint of Glutes freeing the world of the dreaded affliction of pancake ass. In all seriousness, you will not be disappointed with the purchase of this book or any of the books he has written. This book is as comprehensive as it gets. Bret is a great mix of bro and scientist. His explanations are clear and relatable and backed by years of research and in the field experience. This book belongs on your shelf between Arnold's Bodybuilding Encyclopedia and Mark Rippetoe's Starting Strength. The pictures and infographics are sharp and the professional production of this hardcover book lend it the credibility of a University textbook. AMAZING!!! My 50-year-old glutes are GROWING!!!

Where do I start? I recently discovered Bret on Instagram and loved the tips he would give about building glutes. I am 6'0" and pushing 50, so I needed help with growth. When I found out he was publishing a book, I instantly pre-ordered my copy. This book is a treasure trove of knowledge...from anatomy, to programs, to exercise execution. The little tweaks here and there he provides in his book have already had an enormous effect on my glute workouts. He clearly explains WHY you need to do certain movements. It has been a fascinating read, and I am not even done with the book yet. This book is so impressive. So much so that I have already recommended it to a gym friend that has ordered her own copy. Thanks to Bret, the secret to great glutes is now out there for all of us. You will love, love, love this book!

Thrust is a must, so is this book!

I started my weightlifting journey with Strong Curves back in 2014 I wanted a better body, and the trainers I paid got me no results. The information on getting women results was pretty limited to high reps and low weight, Bret’s book changed the game. I continued my education in college as an Exercise Science major. Now as a personal trainer myself, Bret’s influences from his book were always utilized in my program development. With his latest book he goes further in depth about muscle development in general and really gets to the meat of glute training. Which is revolutionary, there was no information in this area, and I’d always wanted a better looking butt as have many of my clients. I feel like this is a must for anyone in the strength and conditioning community. I mean anyone! It expands on knowledge you already have, and for someone just learning about weightlifting mechanics or new the the names of anatomy, it does a good job of breaking it down and not overly complicated. It also explains program design and progressive over loading. Which is something that personal training courses completely overlooked in their certification programs. Glutes have never been a priority for most big name body builders that have put out information guides, they were completely unaware of how they built their own glutes, and some are just genetically gifted. From someone that had potential to build from nothing to actually seeing progress to having the look I want with fuller rounded glutes— I highly recommend picking this up. It’s not an over night fix, but you’ll see results quickly and it will take consistency and years in to develop to your full potential. But it is achievable!

Great for all Fitness levels

Wow is all I can say. I consider myself a newbie so I soak up all the knowledge that I can. When I noticed how thick the book was I became a little intimidated. However starting from the beginning this information was easy to read and understand. I have read a great chuck of this book in less than 24 hours. Excellent work and information!

I’ve purchased Vicky Justiz workout guidelines/plans, Workouts by Katya Elise Henry and so many other else and this is by far THE MOST INFORMATIVE, ALL IN ONE, GLUTE-BOOTY BUILDING BIBLE. We all need to know the cause and effect of what we’re doing, most especially when it comes to your workouts. Why you do a certain exercise/ what muscles it targets, how to properly execute it, and some other things that are very important to reaching your goal is now in our reach because Bret “the glute guy” laid everything in this book. Evidence based knowledge, studies, workout programs etc.. He is an expert in this area, he’s got the PhD and years of experience that’s why I trust him. Compared to others who just sell workout plans/exercises for expensive prices, which I find lacking of the very important information needed for a quality,effective and safe workouts/guidelines. This book is very cheap for all the knowledge/time/effort that Bret put into this book. I am very grateful to the author for all the hardwork you did and by selling it for a very affordable price for everyone. PS I am not related to Bret, I am not paid to give this review. I just put in writing the truth after having purchased different books and workout guidelines from alot of well-known newbie booty builders out there.. The pinnacle of glute training

I've followed Bret and his work for years, utilizing his methods from Strong Curves, and have always found him to be both passionate and thorough in his devotion to the science of glute training.... But this book blew me away! It's got answers to questions I never even thought to ask about the subject. At over 600 pages, this may well be the definitive text on glute development for many years to come. If you're at all interested in the subject, you'll probably be geeking out like me as you flip through it, and then rushing to the gym to get to work.

Amazing book for those who want to get to the next level!

I used to think that in order to build a bigger and strong glute all you need are squats and deadlifts. That was until I read this book and learned about all the different variations of workouts that can improve your hip and glute strength. I am now lifting more and am getting a lot more compliments on my backside... and yes, ladies love a man with a nice backside. I highly recommend this purchase!

Definitely Recommend

I absolutely recommended this book to anyone interested is learning more about strength training. Fitness is my hobby and I have done various forms of activity over the years, including yoga, Crossfit, running and (currently) bodybuilding. This book has excellent explanations of the science and movement behind each exercise. I have personally seen a lot of improvement in my glutes since I purchased this book and implemented the exercises. I even went for a run and felt like my legs were stronger than when I was running as my main source of exercise. Buy it!

Incredible value for the depth of knowledge shared

If I could teach a college course on a muscle group - this text would be the one to use for the gluteal muscles. Contreras (author) provides information for the scholar, the body builder, and those of us who want to make our athletes perform better! The pages are colored and detailed - providing lots of information about proper positioning, application of forces, etc., to make stronger gluts! A definite must for all trainers - the price is incredibly generous for what you get!

GLUTE LAB is EVERYTHING and more

One of the most knowledgeable dudes in the game right now. I had already been reading and studying Bret’s Strong Curves book for a while. I thought that was a pretty impressive book and I got pretty good results from implementing the methods and programs that were illustrated in Strong Curves. But when Glute Lab arrived at the door? HOLE. LEE. SH!T. This book is massive, MASSIVE and packed with sooooooooo much content. I’m hooked on learning more. I cannot say enough positive things about this book and am so happy I preordered. THANK YOU BRET!!!!! For doing all this amazing research over the years (and sharing all of it with the WORLD). And thank you for being such a valuable, knowledgeable, and credible expert In the fitness industry today.

GREAT!

This book is great! It is full of information! As a personal trainer, exercise physiologist, and cardiac rehab specialist, I have had my share of college education. I wish this book was around when I was in school. I no longer personal train clients, but do continue to workout and want to improve my fitness and overall health, and this book is full of the scientific information that I love to read and also full of information that is relayed in terms that can be easily understood. I feel the text is written in the sense that the author is speaking to you. I like that. It makes it easy to read and understand. I have been following Bret on social media for years and was so excited when this book came out.

Amazing!

I am a huge Bret Contreras fan and was super excited for this book to come out. I’ve been following him on Instagram for several years and am so happy that he created this very comprehensive resource. It is amazing! The book includes tons of pictures and illustrations and explanations. If you want to train effectively and efficiently this is the book to get. Every single movement is explained and describe in detail which is so helpful, especially if you are at all like me and train alone. There are so many workouts, in many different styles, so everyone can find what they like and need. I will use and refer to it, probably forever.

Wow! I'm speechless. This book is gold. At first I thought I wouldn't learn anything new from what I have learned from Brets IG, or free articles but I was so wrong. This book will answer everything you have ever wondered about glute training, from frequency, to exercise selection for certain body types. I appreciate that Bret wants you to understand the glute anatomy before he goes off on telling you what to do it's an important piece to the glute puzzle! Bret and Glen thank you thank you! Highly recommend!

It isn't just about Glutes!

What a fantastic resource! First, the quality of the book itself is fantastic. It's easy to follow with high-quality images and illustrations backed up by simple explanations. Don't get me wrong, there is more science in this book than most people will care to read but the good news is you don't have to read it to get everything you need to know. Second, this book is about training, not just glute training. If you did a word search and replaced every instance of "glutes" with any other muscle group it would still be the most complete strength book I've seen. Bottom line is that anyone who trains themselves or clients will get a ton out of this book. Worth every penny.

Train Your Glutes (And Your Brain) - Excellent Book!

Such a comprehensive book! I wanted to wait until I read the entire book before writing a review and I have to say I was blown away by Bret’s knowledge and his thorough explanations for every topic you could think of as it pertains to training. While he does focus on glute training, this book provides loads of great information about overall training techniques, nutrition guidelines (much simpler than we make it out to be), general fitness truths, training around injuries and so much more. Strength training is incredible effective and important and if you’ve ever wondered why this book will tell you. It just makes me more excited to train and I can understand why I’m doing certain exercises or reps — and why it’s important to have a plan. This book lays out everything you need to create a plan or you can use any of the templates Bret provides, from beginner to advanced, whether you work out at home or a commercial gym. I’m so happy I have this book and I know I’ll refer back to it many times. I am so inspired by Bret’s knowledge that I’ll be signing up for his Booty by Bret online training program for my birthday next month!

Bret Contreras is a glute genius. If you want to see changes, this is the guy to learn from! This book is absolutely amazing and has everything you need to get start on training you physique. Not only do you get workouts, but you gain an understand of why certain things are necessary. This book also tailors workouts around your specific needs and how your body responds to training. I’ve seen phenomenal results only after 6 weeks. My confidence has skyrocketed as well as my motivation!!

Useless as a workout guide. Perfect for science geek

I returned this book. I wanted a workout manual filled with exercises. This is literally an Anatomy & Physiology textbook of the glutes. That’s fine if you’re a science geek and want all the details on muscle fibers and how & why a movement is necessary for specific muscles and all that jazz. Only about 15-20% of the book is useful to someone who just wants exercises. The rest is Bret’s life story as well as science and research. It’s so huge and cumbersome that i wouldn’t take this anywhere

A Must Buy For Glute Training!

This is by far the most informative book on glute training out there! 608 pages detailing training splits, biomechanics, anatomy, dieting strategies, breaking plateaus, and so much more. Not only is the information backed by research, but you have Bret Contreras' 20+ years of personal training experience poured in here as well!

This should be subtitled The Booty Bible

I wanted to completely finish reading this before leaving a review just to make sure the whole thing was as good as the beginning, and quite honestly, it was even better than expected. This has to be the most complete and comprehensive book on glutes ever conceived. (It might also be the most helpful book about training that I’ve ever read.) There is NOTHING about the glutes that isn’t covered here: anatomy, mechanics, functionality, training, sample workouts, exercise descriptions. Bret goes into how he constructs (and personalizes) workouts for his clients, so if you’re looking to create your own workout, this will tell you how. He not only goes into the how but the why behind each recommendation, so you understand every exercise and variation and how it will work for you (which I find makes my workouts more productive). I am NOT any kind of fitness competitor or athlete; I’m just a normal woman who would like her hips and back to stop hurting (and who wouldn’t mind regaining the fullness I once had round back). I work out in my basement, and I don’t have a lot of equipment, but I’ve been following the programs in Bret’s other book, Strong Curves, for about 4 months, and the gains I’ve made in strength are pretty damn amazing. I can only see those gains increasing after reading Glute Lab. This book was admittedly quite dense and I wondered how long it was going to take me to read, but it goes quickly, and it kept me riveted the whole time. The writing style is personable and although the content gets scientific, it’s never hard to understand. There are excellent descriptions and photos of all the exercises, and the infographics make pertinent information easy to find. If you’re a fan of Bret’s work, or if you’re just hungry for quality information on glute growth, I can’t recommend this book highly enough.

An Absolute Must!!

I remember when I first discovered Bret on Instagram. I began doing some of the workout videos he posted. I then proceeded to buy his Strong Curves book and complete those programs; which were very different to how I had been training for he past 6 years. His training methods worked wonders for me, so I went ahead and joined his Booty by Bret online. I was ecstatic whenever he made the announcement of his new book. I am already a two chapters in, and I love everything about it. The breakdown of everything that he researches, the scientific sections, the diagrams, the explanations, the photos of exercises are beautiful. This book is truly written for all types of people, whether you’re a beginner or advanced. Bret is always sharing knowledge that I continue to use in my training and see improvements. I 150% recommend this book!

Best book on training you will find

After Arnold, no-one one has had a bigger impact on the weight training world than Bret Contreras. His invention and popularizing of the hip thrust exercise, and of glute training in general, has radically changed whats going on inside gyms around the world. Not just for women; even the guys have caught on now. At my gym the hip thrusters are now being used by bikini competitors, male bodybuilders and StrongMen competitors alike. That said, don't fall into the trap of thinking that the "Glute Guy" only knows glute training. Contreras does active research on training in general, and his general teachings has relevance for all muscle groups. The book is a well of information, containing both theory and practical advice, and even though it goes enough in depth to satisfy even fitness nerds like me, it is written in a very accessible style. If you're at all interested in glute training, the book is worth buying for the chapter with exercise descriptions / tips alone. It covers all glute exercises you can think of, as well as general lower body exercises like squats with variations, deadlifts with variations, lunges with variations, etc. But that is only a small part of the book; it also contains theory about what makes muscles grow, about diet, and even lays out complete training programs, which is something many training book authors often skimp on. I suppose what best sums up how good I think the book is, is the fact that I've ordered 18 more copies; one for each of my coaching colleagues. :)

Detailed and generous gift to anyone looking for great glutes

I am a Bret Contreras fan so I couldn’t wait for this book to come out. It is fantastic! It is well organized and comprehensive, but broken down int easily consumable bits. He includes tons of pictures and explanations. If you want to train effectively and efficiently get this book. You won’t learn just what to do, but why you do it. He gives many workout programs for many different workout styles so those of us on a budget get extra value. I already had his Strong Curves book so I wondered if I’d be wasting my $ on this one. While many of the principles are unchanged, this new book gives you so much more. I am so glad I have it and I’d encourage anyone considering it to buy it. I am confident you will use it and refer back to it for years to come.

A must buy for fitness professionals!

As a personal trainer, I am a firm believer on you should always be learning and researching as the fitness industry is always evolving. I was told to follow Bret on IG about a year ago and he is one of 4 people who I respect and trust his information he puts out on a social platform. Purchasing his book was never a question. He offers so much information at no cost on his IG that I couldn’t wait to see what he put in his textbook. Obviously, it’s over glute training but he also teaches you how to create programs for the whole body. If you’re a certified fitness professional and want to get better at writing programs, this book is a must. If you’re a fitness enthusiast and want to improve lagging body parts, this book is a must. He wrote this book so that everyone could understand the material. But he also has a science section that is optional to read after each “lesson” if you’re wanting more! You honestly can’t beat this high quality book at such a low cost.

This could be a $200 certification book

I am a certified personal trainer and have been for 7 years. This book was better than my course materials. It has everything in an easy to understand way, explanations, science, programs for any type of person (3x a week people, beginners, powerlifters, competitors... literally everyone can use one of these programs) and an extensive exercise library. He explains benefits of more advanced things but keeps the basics at the forefront. I recommend this to all my friends who ask me for help getting in shape. The one thing to keep in mind is that this is glute focused on conjunction with maximizing aesthetics and performance. It won’t prepare you to run a mile, or for a power lift meet. But it will supplement any program you’re on or you can pick one of his programs for general fitness and aesthetics if you don’t have one.

Seriously the best! Bret Contreras is the go-to in physique training with science to back it up! I first purchased his “Strong Curves” book and was extremely pleased with all the information it provides! I got super excited when I heard the announcement of “Glute Lab” coming out and instantly purchased! This book is literally the Bible. It’s so detail oriented and super easy to read. The only con is it’s super heavy lol but that just means it has a lot of info :) a definite must buy if you’re into building the glutes with science backed info!

Get this book, it’s incredible!

My husband bought this for me and WOW!!!!!! I cannot tell you how incredibly impressed I am with this book. It exceeded all my expectations. It’s essentially an education in kinesiology and exercise science. I have recently been certified as a personal trainer thru NASM and also spent two semesters in a college certification program that consisted of a rigorous curriculum with courses in kinesiology, physiology, anatomy, and nutrition (that’s why I chose this particular college). This book covered so much of what was required knowledge for all of us in our college program/classes. Not only that but this includes information on how to tailor nutrition for your personal goals, exercise modifications, and amazing program design. This book is THE BOMB. Thank you To the authors. Magic glutebook

This thing is a TEXTBOOK! I was not expecting so much book for only 35 bucks! This is the butt bible. Brett has put years and tons of research and experimentation into building glutes and I’m so happy to support. Aside from that, the organization of information of this book is so well done and it’s a really excellent guidance tool to help you reach your goals in the gym, for the butt focused , and everyone else too. 🤗

You’ll be thanking Bret if you follow the workouts for 9-12 months

If you want to improve your glutes and your entire body this is the book for you. If you follow Bret’s workouts and methods you will improve way more than you expected. I bought his book Strong Curves 18 months ago. I followed the workouts as closely as I could. I stopped doing cardio except for walking outside a few times a week. People ask me what program I’m following at the gym now. I have increased self confidence. I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been in after going to the gym for 12 years. If you feel like you need to up your game, track your workouts and follow the workouts in this book or strong curves. You will not be disappointed! Bret has the best books and programs out there. You will know more about safe effective workouts than the trainers at your gym. Just watch....

From my wife: Glute Lab is an amazing blend of science and practical advice. I love how Bret breaks everything down to the muscular level and discusses the physics behind why things work the way they do. However, you don’t need to be a science nerd to benefit from this book. From beginners to personal trainers there is ample advice on building your own program to effectively help you reach your goals. Bret is literally the “Glute Guru” and the results speak to the strength of his methods!!

So much information!

I’ve been following Bret and his work for about 4 years now. I wanted to grow my glutes so I did a quick Google search and found his article about the hip thrust. Since then I’ve purchased several of his pieces of equipment, along with his other book ‘Strong Curves’ and none of it disappoints! This book takes the cake. I’ve not even looked through half of it yet and I’m already learning so much information. This guy knows his stuff, and I’ve seen so much muscle gain because of his knowledge. He is humble and smart, and doesn’t charge and arm and a leg for things he puts out. Highly recommend if you’re wanting to build your best body!

Meet your Glute Godfathers

This is literally the Booty Bible. Bret Contreras, the literal inventor of the hip thrust (what??), has been training glute-dominant exercise programs for almost 30 years, and he knows everything there is to know about growing your backside and specifically your glute complex. I also like the way he talks and breaks down his concepts. A lot of trainers like to flex their knowledge of physiology terminology and show the full breadth of their certifications, which while I understand is normally based in pride or wanting to prove credibility, it can be really confusing to the average athlete. I respect a trainer SO MUCH MORE that can break down complex movement into simple terms that are easy to understand at any step in your fitness journey.

Not only am I here because I want to help Bret get to 1000 reviews, but I’m mostly here to show my support. I LOVE this book. I’ve had it since October and it’s been great! You can tell how much research was done to create this book! The programs in it are AMAZING my glutes were so sore for the first time in forever! Definitely recommend, especially if you’re a beginner and don’t know where to start. I also have his “glute loop” band ! I've followed Bret and his work for years, utilizing his methods from Strong Curves, and have always found him to be both passionate and thorough in his devotion to the science of glute training.... But this book blew me away! It's got answers to questions I never even thought to ask about the subject. At over 600 pages, this may well be the definitive text on glute development for many years to come. If you're at all interested in the subject, you'll probably be geeking out like me as you flip through it, and then rushing to the gym to get to work.

This book is filled with so much helpful information about everything you need to know on your glutes . Also has lots of pictures and Bret really does a wonderful job on explaining everything you need to why it’s so important train your glutes. He is a glute wizard to say the very least. This is the holy grail for glute training

Men, don't be afraid to buy this book. Although the design is geared towards women this is a book for anyone who is interested in glute training. There is simply no other person with as much knowledge of glute training as Bret and this book is his magnum opus. Seriously, if you are a bodybuilder or just want a better butt you need this book. It's a small cost to pay for the knowledge inside.

Ive yet to delve into the book, looks packed with information from first glance and hoping it’s more than I already know. However, it came pretty beat up which is why I’ve taken away 2 stars.

This book contains many workout blueprints and it teaches you how to create your own. It is truly one of a kind. That’s why is so massive, like a bible. A must get training book!

I think this book is an absolute gem for those looking to advance your training and for those who are interested in learning about the scientific mechanics/methods behind the text of his training methods. There is a part of the book called “science talk” and this is what I bought the book before, besides the obvious glute gains of course. I knew Bret would deliver when it came to all of the scientific research and anatomy of the body, going into detail of what muscle part is being hit primarily vs. secondarily, etc. It’s been hard to put the book down for me, but I’m definitely pacing myself, I still have to train and put this knowledge to use in the gym anyhow! Highly recommend getting this book!

No crazy supplements, no steroids, no magic pill.... just following his methods and this book! It’s a must read. I have never had so much life balance and happiness in my life. Useless as a workout guide. Perfect for science geek

I returned this book. I wanted a workout manual filled with exercises. This is literally an Anatomy & Physiology textbook of the glutes. That’s fine if you’re a science geek and want all the details on muscle fibers and how & why a movement is necessary for specific muscles and all that jazz. Only about 15-20% of the book is useful to someone who just wants exercises. The rest is Bret’s life story as well as science and research. It’s so huge and cumbersome that i wouldn’t take this anywhere

A Must Buy For Glute Training!

This is by far the most informative book on glute training out there! 608 pages detailing training splits, biomechanics, anatomy, dieting strategies, breaking plateaus, and so much more. Not only is the information backed by research, but you have Bret Contreras' 20+ years of personal training experience poured in here as well!

This should be subtitled The Booty Bible

I wanted to completely finish reading this before leaving a review just to make sure the whole thing was as good as the beginning, and quite honestly, it was even better than expected. This has to be the most complete and comprehensive book on glutes ever conceived. (It might also be the most helpful book about training that I’ve ever read.) There is NOTHING about the glutes that isn’t covered here: anatomy, mechanics, functionality, training, sample workouts, exercise descriptions. Bret goes into how he constructs (and personalizes) workouts for his clients, so if you’re looking to create your own workout, this will tell you how. He not only goes into the how but the why behind each recommendation, so you understand every exercise and variation and how it will work for you (which I find makes my workouts more productive). I am NOT any kind of fitness competitor or athlete; I’m just a normal woman who would like her hips and back to stop hurting (and who wouldn’t mind regaining the fullness I once had round back). I work out in my basement, and I don’t have a lot of equipment, but I’ve been following the programs in Bret’s other book, Strong Curves, for about 4 months, and the gains I’ve made in strength are pretty damn amazing. I can only see those gains increasing after reading Glute Lab. This book was admittedly quite dense and I wondered how long it was going to take me to read, but it goes quickly, and it kept me riveted the whole time. The writing style is personable and although the content gets scientific, it’s never hard to understand. There are excellent descriptions and photos of all the exercises, and the infographics make pertinent information easy to find. If you’re a fan of Bret’s work, or if you’re just hungry for quality information on glute growth, I can’t recommend this book highly enough.

An Absolute Must!!

I remember when I first discovered Bret on Instagram. I began doing some of the workout videos he posted. I then proceeded to buy his Strong Curves book and complete those programs; which were very different to how I had been training for he past 6 years. His training methods worked wonders for me, so I went ahead and joined his Booty by Bret online. I was ecstatic whenever he made the announcement of his new book. I am already a two chapters in, and I love everything about it. The breakdown of everything that he researches, the scientific sections, the diagrams, the explanations, the photos of exercises are beautiful. This book is truly written for all types of people, whether you’re a beginner or advanced. Bret is always sharing knowledge that I continue to use in my training and see improvements. Best book on training you will find

After Arnold, no-one one has had a bigger impact on the weight training world than Bret Contreras. His invention and popularizing of the hip thrust exercise, and of glute training in general, has radically changed whats going on inside gyms around the world. Not just for women; even the guys have caught on now. At my gym the hip thrusters are now being used by bikini competitors, male bodybuilders and StrongMen competitors alike. That said, don't fall into the trap of thinking that the "Glute Guy" only knows glute training. Contreras does active research on training in general, and his general teachings has relevance for all muscle groups. The book is a well of information, containing both theory and practical advice, and even though it goes enough in depth to satisfy even fitness nerds like me, it is written in a very accessible style. If you're at all interested in glute training, the book is worth buying for the chapter with exercise descriptions / tips alone. It covers all glute exercises you can think of, as well as general lower body exercises like squats with variations, deadlifts with variations, lunges with variations, etc. But that is only a small part of the book; it also contains theory about what makes muscles grow, about diet, and even lays out complete training programs, which is something many training book authors often skimp on. I suppose what best sums up how good I think the book is, is the fact that I've ordered 18 more copies; one for each of my coaching colleagues. :)

Detailed and generous gift to anyone looking for great glutes

I am a Bret Contreras fan so I couldn’t wait for this book to come out. It is fantastic! It is well organized and comprehensive, but broken down int easily consumable bits. He includes tons of pictures and explanations. If you want to train effectively and efficiently get this book. You won’t learn just what to do, but why you do it. He gives many workout programs for many different workout styles so those of us on a budget get extra value. I already had his Strong Curves book so I wondered if I’d be wasting my $ on this one. While many of the principles are unchanged, this new book gives you so much more. I am so glad I have it and I’d encourage anyone considering it to buy it. I am confident you will use it and refer back to it for years to come.

I’ve purchased Vicky Justiz workout guidelines/plans, Workouts by Katya Elise Henry and so many other else and this is by far THE MOST INFORMATIVE, ALL IN ONE, GLUTE-BOOTY BUILDING BIBLE. We all need to know the cause and effect of what we’re doing, most especially when it comes to your workouts. Why you do a certain exercise/ what muscles it targets, how to properly execute it, and some other things that are very important to reaching your goal is now in our reach because Bret “the glute guy” laid everything in this book. Evidence based knowledge, studies, workout programs etc.. He is an expert in this area, he’s got the PhD and years of experience that’s why I trust him. BEST GLUTE BOOK OUT THERE

I pre ordered this book when it came out in September 2018 and along with the book Becoming a supple tiger it’s amongst the BEST fitness books out there, It was also so worth the wait. but if you want to build a shapely backside this is the MAIN man. A lot of people are misguided about squats being the best exercise for your butt but oh no it isn’t. The Hip thrust is by far and away the king of the glute builders. Having strong glute muscles helps you in so many ways , better runner less likely to get back pain to name two. I follow Bret Contrares on Instagram and you tube but I’m also doing his programme. I love it and I’ve got the best backside I’ve had in a long time and I’m no spring chicken! This book is worth its weight in gold. Please don’t be put off by the price it’s WORTH every penny and more. You will not REGRET it!!

So much greatness in one book!

I am about halfway through the book and I so geek out over it! I love how in depth it is and well rounded. I like how it explains parts you can skip if you’re not into that much detail. It’s such a great resource and so contains so much info on training and how to train for what your goals are. Short of hiring a personal trainer to teach you about fitness and creating a plan for you, it’s as specific as you can get in book form. I’m gaining so much insight! Gains from head learning and becoming physically stronger!

Glute Lab is worth waaaay more than what you’ll pay for it!

This book is packed with great information. It explains which exercises target which muscles and how to incorporate a variety of exercises to so that work is done over the various planes. If you need to know “the why“ in order to buy in to something, this book has the why. I used to skip exercises because I didn’t like the way they felt, or because they weren’t my favorite, or I just wasn’t good at them. This book helped me understand why certain exercises shouldn’t be skipped.

The Glute Bible

This is the Bible for training lower body (specifically flutes). There is so much information packed in this book. Bret does a great job of explaining everything so you really understand his training recommendations. You can skip around to your favorite parts or read the book straight through. It’s an easy read and the science pieces are very understandable for anyone.

Great Book, Great Content

Bret is an absolute genius. He put all of his years of research into one book. I LOVE that this reads like a text book! Reminds me of grad school. Definitely noticing some gains, highly recommend. Take the guess work out, he’s done the research for you. What else can you expect from the guy who invented the hip thrust? ;)

So much information! I bought Strong Curves 1st and loved its straight forward/cut and dry information, but wanted even more for when I'm ready to hit that next level. I also have been walking friends through the workouts and love to give them the most knowledge I can to have them feel their best.

Highly recommend!!! I bought this book about 3 months ago and I’m still constantly referring back to it. Many nights it goes to bed with me and wakes up with me! 🙌🏽 It has workout plans for people who are beginners, intermediate, or advanced and goes in-depth on nutrition, how to structure your own workouts , and how to perfect your form in many exercises. If this isn’t enough, it also teaches you about anatomy and how your unique bone structure may effect workouts and answers to common workout problems. This is an amazing book of knowledge. I just started reading it and I can't wait to read the whole thing. The book itself is beautiful, hardback, and has excellent paper quality. This book is easy to read & to understand. So much information. I needed more guidance with the understanding of why & this is giving that to me. I will be reading it & it just clicks. I am constantly sharing what I read with my husband & even he is enjoying the information.

Revolutionary

I've been following Dr. Contreras' training methods and research since 2014. He has not only shaped my personal training career, but has also revolutionized the fitness industry at large. This book is packed full with an unbelievably generous amount of research and methodologies that are applicable to anyone who is even remotely interested in training glutes. My college textbooks that covered training the entire body and personal training as a general career were the same size as Glute Lab. It's fantastic to see someone devote so much to this one part of the body, along with its implications for the rest of the body's development and performance. BUY THIS BOOK.

An absolute must for everyone and anyone who trains

I knew the book was going to be good, but I didn't know it was going to be this good. Bret has made sure to cover all the bases when it comes to glute training in this book. I am barely even 100 pages in and I've already been able to implement what I've learned thus far into my clients programs, been able to better educate them, and have a better understanding of glute anatomy myself. I already am making plans of ordering it for my father as a Christmas gift so he can finally understand hip thrusting/glute training is invaluable. I have learned more valuable and useful information in just the first 100 pages of this book than I did in my entire NASM textbook.. whoops I said it. If you are a trainer or just someone who is slightly interested in weight lifting/glute training, you need this book. I'll be spending the rest of my day reading it.

Nothing short of a glute bible!!!

This book hits all my concerns and glute goals I’ve had for years now! It is very in-depth, complete, and supportive of many different types of readers. I definitely value research-based methods and this book is like a meta-analysis broken down for glutes, hypertrophy, and training methods. It is redundant if you are reading from front to back, but this is more of an observation than a complaint. I get the book is meant to be both read fully through or for browsing, so the good stuff needs to be repeated. I’m tough to please but this is completely worth the money!! Over 600 pages of glute gold!!

Great Book.

Okay, this is a long read. I mean, a very long read. If you find this book in the bookstore, you will see it is very thick. But, the information is amazing. One of the best books for working out. I cannot rate this high enough. Looking forward to seeing results.

I haven't finished reading all of it yet but there is a lot great content and material placed on this book. As a young trainer who mostly trains general population clients and women, this book is a great tool to refer back to because of the information it provides. Definitely worth the investment!

Excellent Information

You don't realize just how massive this text is until you get it in your hands-- something like 600 pages. Contains a ton of interesting information that I haven't seen elsewhere, presented in a format that is easily accessible. Most of its references are directly from studies as opposed to regurgitating info from your more ubiquitous (but still excellent) Russian texts.

A complete guide to better yourself physically.

I have been using Bret’s “Booty by Bret” program for nearly a year. This book is exactly like his program in the sense it is the best resource and extremely effective. So glad I purchased the book as it has shown me faults, proper form, various ways to do an exercise, etc.

College Text Sized Book!

This book is literally the size of not larger than some college text books. It will take a will to read and dissect the science. Bret and company put a lot of thought and research into this book. If you’re looking for a quick glimpse fitness book this is not it. However, if you’re looking to LEARN how to change your body and how your body works...this is it!

People who are “bored” during quarantine obviously don’t own this book!!

This book is absolutely amazing! With so much easy to read scientific information. I hope to finish this book over the next month so I can apply what I’m learning to my gym routine! BUY THIS BOOK! Come out of quarantine an educated human with nice glutes!

Useless as a workout guide. Perfect for science geek

I returned this book. I wanted a workout manual filled with exercises. This is literally an Anatomy & Physiology textbook of the glutes. That’s fine if you’re a science geek and want all the details on muscle fibers and how & why a movement is necessary for specific muscles and all that jazz. Only about 15-20% of the book is useful to someone who just wants exercises. The rest is Bret’s life story as well as science and research. It’s so huge and cumbersome that i wouldn’t take this anywhere

A Must Buy For Glute Training!

This is by far the most informative book on glute training out there! 608 pages detailing training splits, biomechanics, anatomy, dieting strategies, breaking plateaus, and so much more. Not only is the information backed by research, but you have Bret Contreras' 20+ years of personal training experience poured in here as well!

This should be subtitled The Booty Bible

I wanted to completely finish reading this before leaving a review just to make sure the whole thing was as good as the beginning, and quite honestly, it was even better than expected. This has to be the most complete and comprehensive book on glutes ever conceived. (It might also be the most helpful book about training that I’ve ever read.) There is NOTHING about the glutes that isn’t covered here: anatomy, mechanics, functionality, training, sample workouts, exercise descriptions. Bret goes into how he constructs (and personalizes) workouts for his clients, so if you’re looking to create your own workout, this will tell you how. He not only goes into the how but the why behind each recommendation, so you understand every exercise and variation and how it will work for you (which I find makes my workouts more productive). I am NOT any kind of fitness competitor or athlete; I’m just a normal woman who would like her hips and back to stop hurting (and who wouldn’t mind regaining the fullness I once had round back). I work out in my basement, and I don’t have a lot of equipment, but I’ve been following the programs in Bret’s other book, Strong Curves, for about 4 months, and the gains I’ve made in strength are pretty damn amazing. I can only see those gains increasing after reading Glute Lab. This book was admittedly quite dense and I wondered how long it was going to take me to read, but it goes quickly, and it kept me riveted the whole time. The writing style is personable and although the content gets scientific, it’s never hard to understand. There are excellent descriptions and photos of all the exercises, and the infographics make pertinent information easy to find. If you’re a fan of Bret’s work, or if you’re just hungry for quality information on glute growth, I can’t recommend this book highly enough.

An Absolute Must!!

I remember when I first discovered Bret on Instagram. I began doing some of the workout videos he posted. I then proceeded to buy his Strong Curves book and complete those programs; which were very different to how I had been training for he past 6 years. His training methods worked wonders for me, so I went ahead and joined his Booty by Bret online. I was ecstatic whenever he made the announcement of his new book. I am already a two chapters in, and I love everything about it. The breakdown of everything that he researches, the scientific sections, the diagrams, the explanations, the photos of exercises are beautiful. This book is truly written for all types of people, whether you’re a beginner or advanced. Bret is always sharing knowledge that I continue to use in my training and see improvements. I 150% recommend this book!

After Arnold, no-one one has had a bigger impact on the weight training world than Bret Contreras. His invention and popularizing of the hip thrust exercise, and of glute training in general, has radically changed whats going on inside gyms around the world. Not just for women; even the guys have caught on now. At my gym the hip thrusters are now being used by bikini competitors, male bodybuilders and StrongMen competitors alike. That said, don't fall into the trap of thinking that the "Glute Guy" only knows glute training. Contreras does active research on training in general, and his general teachings has relevance for all muscle groups. The book is a well of information, containing both theory and practical advice, and even though it goes enough in depth to satisfy even fitness nerds like me, it is written in a very accessible style. If you're at all interested in glute training, the book is worth buying for the chapter with exercise descriptions / tips alone. It covers all glute exercises you can think of, as well as general lower body exercises like squats with variations, deadlifts with variations, lunges with variations, etc. But that is only a small part of the book; it also contains theory about what makes muscles grow, about diet, and even lays out complete training programs, which is something many training book authors often skimp on. I suppose what best sums up how good I think the book is, is the fact that I've ordered 18 more copies; one for each of my coaching colleagues. :)

I am a Bret Contreras fan so I couldn’t wait for this book to come out. It is fantastic! It is well organized and comprehensive, but broken down int easily consumable bits. He includes tons of pictures and explanations. If you want to train effectively and efficiently get this book. You won’t learn just what to do, but why you do it. He gives many workout programs for many different workout styles so those of us on a budget get extra value. I already had his Strong Curves book so I wondered if I’d be wasting my $ on this one. While many of the principles are unchanged, this new book gives you so much more. I am so glad I have it and I’d encourage anyone considering it to buy it. I am confident you will use it and refer back to it for years to come.

I’ve purchased Vicky Justiz workout guidelines/plans, Workouts by Katya Elise Henry and so many other else and this is by far THE MOST INFORMATIVE, ALL IN ONE, GLUTE-BOOTY BUILDING BIBLE. We all need to know the cause and effect of what we’re doing, most especially when it comes to your workouts. Why you do a certain exercise/ what muscles it targets, how to properly execute it, and some other things that are very important to reaching your goal is now in our reach because Bret “the glute guy” laid everything in this book. Evidence based knowledge, studies, workout programs etc.. He is an expert in this area, he’s got the PhD and years of experience that’s why I trust him. Compared to others who just sell workout plans/exercises for expensive prices, which I find lacking of the very important information needed for a quality,effective and safe workouts/guidelines. This book is very cheap for all the knowledge/time/effort that Bret put into this book. I am very grateful to the author for all the hardwork you did and by selling it for a very affordable price for everyone. PS I am not related to Bret, I am not paid to give this review. I just put in writing the truth after having purchased different books and workout guidelines from alot of well-known newbie booty builders out there.. The pinnacle of glute training

I've followed Bret and his work for years, utilizing his methods from Strong Curves, and have always found him to be both passionate and thorough in his devotion to the science of glute training.... But this book blew me away! It's got answers to questions I never even thought to ask about the subject. At over 600 pages, this may well be the definitive text on glute development for many years to come. If you're at all interested in the subject, you'll probably be geeking out like me as you flip through it, and then rushing to the gym to get to work.

Truly a must-have for anyone who lifts weights or wants to start.

This book is just amazing. There is so much more information in it than I could have imagined. The price is amazing considering how much it contains. I love that there are suggestions for working around injuries and the sections with exercise grouped by quad vs ham focus, etc. I also love that it’s intended to be a guide and not just “Do this! Follow this plan to the T for best results!” Bret and Glen have given the information, knowledge and tools to really personalize your own progress. There are suggestions for workout programs for beginners, intermediate and advanced lifters, pages and pages of exercises with photos. Definitely 5 stars!

Comprehensive strength and physique book

I’m about 200 pages in so far. The book is as big as a college text book and it’s packed with valuable information. I was surprised that it was this cheap of a purchase! I feel like Bret packed all his knowledge on strength and physique training with glute emphasis in this book and made it easy to comprehend and follow. It’s a very comprehensive book and I recommend this to anyone that wants to learn about strength and physique training in general or to any personal trainer. Bret, thank you for sharing your knowledge with everyone it is greatly appreciated.

Glute bible - must buy

The book itself is amazing. BUT, I received it very damaged. I am very angry, because I was really looking forward to this. It is not packed well, that's why it is damaged. Also, the book got wet because the pages are wavy :(

BEST BOOK OUT THERE!

This is the best book by far I have ever read. Bret leaves no room for questions. He explains every exercise possible, what it works, and every variation for it while showing photos on how execute them. This book is a staple if you want to master the art of glute training. I cannot express enough how much I have enjoyed reading this book and how much my glutes have grown because of him🙌 He doesn’t skimp on his research skills either. I can say 100% that any other book he writes, that he puts this much effort in, I will pre order once again! Pre ordered this when I first found out he was writing it and never once regretted it!

The only fitness book you’ll need!

This book has so much information! I have only had it one evening so haven’t gone through it all (it is nearly 600 pages!) but skimming the chapters there are so many pictures, diagrams, and tables. There is so much science, I’m geeking out! It is laid out in such a clear and accessible manner. Awesome job Bret and Glen! Well worth the wait!

If you’re in the fitness industry like me, or you are a fitness enthusiast this is the book for you. Things are easy to read, backed by science and make sense. The book is later out nicely and filled with so much good. 10/10 suggest this book.

Amazing and so comprehensive!

I have been using Bret’s methods for about a year and a half (and a member of his online training Booty by Bret for 9 months) and I have added 5 inches to my glutes in the course of the last 18 months. Everything he puts out is evidenced based and so effective! If you follow his methods yes, you will grow your glutes but most importantly you will get strong and build a well balanced physique. This book is so comprehensive and seems to put everything all in one place! I wouldn’t hesitate for one minute buying this again!

Comprehensive and Consumable

This is a well thought out and comprehensive guide to glute training that I consider a true tool in my own active lifestyle. It offers descriptive cues, exercises with tons of variations,....I could keep going for a while. It is consumable no matter your fitness level and is organized to easily function as a reference guide for all things glute related you may want to know. I’ve been following Bret on insta for years, and you can tell he takes care to offer content/info of the highest quality. That is to say the superb quality of this book is no really surprise :) thank you BC

Amazing book! Everything you need to know about how to incorporate glute, legs exercises in your workout routine. Save you time searching and guessing, all covered from proper forms to progressions. Good for all levels. And most important nailed down to what works for all 3 groups of muscles in your Glutes to develop that round beautiful shell. I have my own experience from buying his online program, competed in Bodybuilding following his program and won! Nobody knows the best than Glute Guy!

El libro me llegó súper rápido. Y me sorprendió el contenido. Cuando lo abrí, lo miré por encima para tener una idea de lo que iba a leer. Me encantó el formato, las ilustraciones con los ejercicios y lo más importante es que el contenido es bien informativo y a la vez educativo. Pienso que Brett Contreras es uno de los entrenadores con más experiencias y estudios en cuanto a entrenamiento físico, específicamente del área del glúteo que es la parte que nos da más trabajo a las mujeres para desarrollarlo de una manera correcta. Estoy bien contenta de haber adquirido este libro!

Highly recommend

Amazing book filled with so much great information on how to build your flutes but also great information overall. It even has a ton of body weight exercises you can do anytime (but especially useful during this pandemic quarantine when gyms and parks are closed). Highly recommend. Educate yourself more as a lifter by reading Glute Lab

This book is amazingly written and very comprehensive. I started with Strong Curves 5 years ago and I still learned plenty of new and relevant information in the new Glute Lab book. I absolutely loved the reading and lifting templates. I recommend this book to anyone interested in weight lifting even if you've been training a while there's always more to learn and thankfully Bret keeps informed on all fitness studies.

Best investment I’ve made for growing my glutes

I am a personal trainer and work with a lot of women who are looking to grow their glutes. Naturally I seek out the best literature to help me guide my clients toward seeing their best results. Purchasing the Glute Lab book has been the best investment for my career so far. The book provides numerous infographics, thorough explanations on muscle building, cues for guiding people through glute focused exercises, and inspiration through numerous transformation examples from the Glute Guy himself. I already had high expectations before buying this book, however I was blown away by how informational it was. If you want to grow your glutes do yourself a favor and buy this book now!

Glute Lab book is awesome!

I have just started reading but so far the information provided is excellent. It is full of illustrations and descriptions. I highly recommend to anyone serious about glute development and strength training (including beginners).

After Arnold, no-one one has had a bigger impact on the weight training world than Bret Contreras. His invention and popularizing of the hip thrust exercise, and of glute training in general, has radically changed whats going on inside gyms around the world. Not just for women; even the guys have caught on now. At my gym the hip thrusters are now being used by bikini competitors, male bodybuilders and StrongMen competitors alike. That said, don't fall into the trap of thinking that the "Glute Guy" only knows glute training. Contreras does active research on training in general, and his general teachings has relevance for all muscle groups. The book is a well of information, containing both theory and practical advice, and even though it goes enough in depth to satisfy even fitness nerds like me, it is written in a very accessible style. If you're at all interested in glute training, the book is worth buying for the chapter with exercise descriptions / tips alone. It covers all glute exercises you can think of, as well as general lower body exercises like squats with variations, deadlifts with variations, lunges with variations, etc. But that is only a small part of the book; it also contains theory about what makes muscles grow, about diet, and even lays out complete training programs, which is something many training book authors often skimp on. I suppose what best sums up how good I think the book is, is the fact that I've ordered 18 more copies; one for each of my coaching colleagues. :)

I am a Bret Contreras fan so I couldn’t wait for this book to come out. It is fantastic! It is well organized and comprehensive, but broken down int easily consumable bits. He includes tons of pictures and explanations. If you want to train effectively and efficiently get this book. You won’t learn just what to do, but why you do it. He gives many workout programs for many different workout styles so those of us on a budget get extra value. I already had his Strong Curves book so I wondered if I’d be wasting my $ on this one. While many of the principles are unchanged, this new book gives you so much more. I am so glad I have it and I’d encourage anyone considering it to buy it. I am confident you will use it and refer back to it for years to come.

I’ve purchased Vicky Justiz workout guidelines/plans, Workouts by Katya Elise Henry and so many other else and this is by far THE MOST INFORMATIVE, ALL IN ONE, GLUTE-BOOTY BUILDING BIBLE. We all need to know the cause and effect of what we’re doing, most especially when it comes to your workouts. Why you do a certain exercise/ what muscles it targets, how to properly execute it, and some other things that are very important to reaching your goal is now in our reach because Bret “the glute guy” laid everything in this book. Evidence based knowledge, studies, workout programs etc.. He is an expert in this area, he’s got the PhD and years of experience that’s why I trust him. Compared to others who just sell workout plans/exercises for expensive prices, which I find lacking of the very important information needed for a quality,effective and safe workouts/guidelines. This book is very cheap for all the knowledge/time/effort that Bret put into this book. The pinnacle of glute training

I've followed Bret and his work for years, utilizing his methods from Strong Curves, and have always found him to be both passionate and thorough in his devotion to the science of glute training.... But this book blew me away! It's got answers to questions I never even thought to ask about the subject. At over 600 pages, this may well be the definitive text on glute development for many years to come. If you're at all interested in the subject, you'll probably be geeking out like me as you flip through it, and then rushing to the gym to get to work.

The Bible of Glutes

Wow, I am barely into this book and I am blown away. It will be my one and only "go to" book for glute training, and just training in general. 608 pages chocked full of information This book does it all, from the necessary glute exercises that are a must to the science behind it and all sorts of splits and training programs, along with diet and lifestyle! I also love Bret's Glute Loop's of which I own two. They are awesome for traveling. There is no excuse to not be able to develop awsome glutes as long as you follow this book!

Wealth or information and programs

For less than 50 dollars this book not only provides a wealth of information about programming and proper form for workouts it also has years worth of training programs. I have bought many 12-16 week training program for twice as much money. So if you like following a program which in my experience was the only way to make progress in the gym then I would highly recommend this book. I would also like to add that the programs are not only glute programs but there are upper/lower splits and full body splits.

This book is worth triple the price. This is by far the greatest source of information into learn how and why we need to train a specific way to grow in strength and bring on a physical change. I’m 55 and I can’t wait to post my before and afters. I started on his programs 4 months ago, now incorporated some additional knowledge from the book, which is like having Bret at your finger tips. Next is one on one but for now, I look forward to sitting down every night a turning to the next chapter. He makes it fun also to read.

So easy to read and understand!!!

I have been training at Glute Lab for over a year and love Bret's training methods! My glutes have never been very big but in the past year, they have plumped up! Bret is one of the most knowledgeable people I have met! I am done with 2 parts of this book so far and loving it. He goes into so much detail about programming which is awesome because my NASM book doesn't do that. Anybody can read this book and understand it, which is another plus! Best Book EVER!

I absolutely recommend this book. This book was made for all kinds of people. Whether you're a trainer or just a beginner to working out this book is really resourceful. In the past I've trained with a personal trainer but it can get pretty pricey so I had to stop because I just couldnt afford it. This book is so detailed with the workouts he provides anyone can do it. The majority of the book focuses on the glutes but it does have a little bit of everything like upper body movements, etc. I love this book and its worth every penny.

Useless as a workout guide. Perfect for science geek

I returned this book. I wanted a workout manual filled with exercises. This is literally an Anatomy & Physiology textbook of the glutes. That’s fine if you’re a science geek and want all the details on muscle fibers and how & why a movement is necessary for specific muscles and all that jazz. Only about 15-20% of the book is useful to someone who just wants exercises. The rest is Bret’s life story as well as science and research. It’s so huge and cumbersome that i wouldn’t take this anywhere

A Must Buy For Glute Training!

This is by far the most informative book on glute training out there! 608 pages detailing training splits, biomechanics, anatomy, dieting strategies, breaking plateaus, and so much more. Not only is the information backed by research, but you have Bret Contreras' 20+ years of personal training experience poured in here as well!

This should be subtitled The Booty Bible

I wanted to completely finish reading this before leaving a review just to make sure the whole thing was as good as the beginning, and quite honestly, it was even better than expected. This has to be the most complete and comprehensive book on glutes ever conceived. (It might also be the most helpful book about training that I’ve ever read.) There is NOTHING about the glutes that isn’t covered here: anatomy, mechanics, functionality, training, sample workouts, exercise descriptions. Bret goes into how he constructs (and personalizes) workouts for his clients, so if you’re looking to create your own workout, this will tell you how. He not only goes into the how but the why behind each recommendation, so you understand every exercise and variation and how it will work for you (which I find makes my workouts more productive). I am NOT any kind of fitness competitor or athlete; I’m just a normal woman who would like her hips and back to stop hurting (and who wouldn’t mind regaining the fullness I once had round back). I work out in my basement, and I don’t have a lot of equipment, but I’ve been following the programs in Bret’s other book, Strong Curves, for about 4 months, and the gains I’ve made in strength are pretty damn amazing. I can only see those gains increasing after reading Glute Lab. This book was admittedly quite dense and I wondered how long it was going to take me to read, but it goes quickly, and it kept me riveted the whole time. The writing style is personable and although the content gets scientific, it’s never hard to understand. There are excellent descriptions and photos of all the exercises, and the infographics make pertinent information easy to find. If you’re a fan of Bret’s work, or if you’re just hungry for quality information on glute growth, I can’t recommend this book highly enough.

This book is so amazing! Very educational and science based but dumbed down enough to where you can understand what is being talked about! lol I highly recommend buying this book as well as following him on social media for even more knowledge!

Great resource for personal trainers AND exercise lovers

As a newly certified personal trainer, I have recently read a lot of different books to try to learn more. This book is one of the most well-organized, entertaining, and informative books I have picked up so far. Yes, you will learn a lot about building glutes specifically, but Brett also teaches a lot about the finer points of general training such as proper programming and progressive overload. I think this is a fantastic resource for both personal trainers and everyday people who love to workout and just want to learn more!

A Must Read

I first found Bret by googling Glute workouts and learned about hip thrusts. Then bought his first book, Strong Curves and just recently joined his online group, Booty by Bret. His training methods are fully researched and are designed with everyone in mind from a beginner to the most advanced. If you truly want to achieve real results the Glute Lab is the way to go!!

So far loving the book but only half way thru the Non-exercise sections. Very thorough and informative book. It’s huge. Feel like it’s a steal at the current price. Looking forward to completing the book and forming a better program for my personal glute development.

Useless as a workout guide. Perfect for science geek

I returned this book. I wanted a workout manual filled with exercises. This is literally an Anatomy & Physiology textbook of the glutes. That’s fine if you’re a science geek and want all the details on muscle fibers and how & why a movement is necessary for specific muscles and all that jazz. Only about 15-20% of the book is useful to someone who just wants exercises. The rest is Bret’s life story as well as science and research. It’s so huge and cumbersome that i wouldn’t take this anywhere

This is by far the most informative book on glute training out there! 608 pages detailing training splits, biomechanics, anatomy, dieting strategies, breaking plateaus, and so much more. Not only is the information backed by research, but you have Bret Contreras' 20+ years of personal training experience poured in here as well!

This should be subtitled The Booty Bible

I wanted to completely finish reading this before leaving a review just to make sure the whole thing was as good as the beginning, and quite honestly, it was even better than expected. This has to be the most complete and comprehensive book on glutes ever conceived. (It might also be the most helpful book about training that I’ve ever read.) There is NOTHING about the glutes that isn’t covered here: anatomy, mechanics, functionality, training, sample workouts, exercise descriptions. Bret goes into how he constructs (and personalizes) workouts for his clients, so if you’re looking to create your own workout, this will tell you how. He not only goes into the how but the why behind each recommendation, so you understand every exercise and variation and how it will work for you (which I find makes my workouts more productive). I am NOT any kind of fitness competitor or athlete; I’m just a normal woman who would like her hips and back to stop hurting (and who wouldn’t mind regaining the fullness I once had round back). I work out in my basement, and I don’t have a lot of equipment, but I’ve been following the programs in Bret’s other book, Strong Curves, for about 4 months, and the gains I’ve made in strength are pretty damn amazing. I can only see those gains increasing after reading Glute Lab. This book was admittedly quite dense and I wondered how long it was going to take me to read, but it goes quickly, and it kept me riveted the whole time. The writing style is personable and although the content gets scientific, it’s never hard to understand. There are excellent descriptions and photos of all the exercises, and the infographics make pertinent information easy to find. If you’re a fan of Bret’s work, or if you’re just hungry for quality information on glute growth, I can’t recommend this book highly enough.

I remember when I first discovered Bret on Instagram. I began doing some of the workout videos he posted. I then proceeded to buy his Strong Curves book and complete those programs; which were very different to how I had been training for he past 6 years. His training methods worked wonders for me, so I went ahead and joined his Booty by Bret online. I was ecstatic whenever he made the announcement of his new book. I am already a two chapters in, and I love everything about it. The breakdown of everything that he researches, the scientific sections, the diagrams, the explanations, the photos of exercises are beautiful. This book is truly written for all types of people, whether you’re a beginner or advanced. Bret is always sharing knowledge that I continue to use in my training and see improvements. I 150% recommend this book!

After Arnold, no-one one has had a bigger impact on the weight training world than Bret Contreras. His invention and popularizing of the hip thrust exercise, and of glute training in general, has radically changed whats going on inside gyms around the world. Not just for women; even the guys have caught on now. At my gym the hip thrusters are now being used by bikini competitors, male bodybuilders and StrongMen competitors alike. That said, don't fall into the trap of thinking that the "Glute Guy" only knows glute training. Contreras does active research on training in general, and his general teachings has relevance for all muscle groups. The book is a well of information, containing both theory and practical advice, and even though it goes enough in depth to satisfy even fitness nerds like me, it is written in a very accessible style. If you're at all interested in glute training, the book is worth buying for the chapter with exercise descriptions / tips alone. It covers all glute exercises you can think of, as well as general lower body exercises like squats with variations, deadlifts with variations, lunges with variations, etc. But that is only a small part of the book; it also contains theory about what makes muscles grow, about diet, and even lays out complete training programs, which is something many training book authors often skimp on. I suppose what best sums up how good I think the book is, is the fact that I've ordered 18 more copies; one for each of my coaching colleagues. :)

I am a Bret Contreras fan so I couldn’t wait for this book to come out. It is fantastic! It is well organized and comprehensive, but broken down int easily consumable bits. He includes tons of pictures and explanations. If you want to train effectively and efficiently get this book. You won’t learn just what to do, but why you do it. He gives many workout programs for many different workout styles so those of us on a budget get extra value. I already had his Strong Curves book so I wondered if I’d be wasting my $ on this one. While many of the principles are unchanged, this new book gives you so much more. I am so glad I have it and I’d encourage anyone considering it to buy it. I am confident you will use it and refer back to it for years to come.

I’ve purchased Vicky Justiz workout guidelines/plans, Workouts by Katya Elise Henry and so many other else and this is by far THE MOST INFORMATIVE, ALL IN ONE, GLUTE-BOOTY BUILDING BIBLE. We all need to know the cause and effect of what we’re doing, most especially when it comes to your workouts. Why you do a certain exercise/ what muscles it targets, how to properly execute it, and some other things that are very important to reaching your goal is now in our reach because Bret “the glute guy” laid everything in this book. Evidence based knowledge, studies, workout programs etc.. He is an expert in this area, he’s got the PhD and years of experience that’s why I trust him. Compared to others who just sell workout plans/exercises for expensive prices, which I find lacking of the very important information needed for a quality,effective and safe workouts/guidelines. This book is very cheap for all the knowledge/time/effort that Bret put into this book. I am very grateful to the author for all the hardwork you did and by selling it for a very affordable price for everyone. PS I am not related to Bret, I am not paid to give this review. The pinnacle of glute training

I've followed Bret and his work for years, utilizing his methods from Strong Curves, and have always found him to be both passionate and thorough in his devotion to the science of glute training.... But this book blew me away! It's got answers to questions I never even thought to ask about the subject. At over 600 pages, this may well be the definitive text on glute development for many years to come. If you're at all interested in the subject, you'll probably be geeking out like me as you flip through it, and then rushing to the gym to get to work.

Wow! This book is amazing! Bret is so knowledgeable about his craft. He is pure genius. I am so happy I found him on Instagram and started following his program. His book is written for a regular person to understand and follow, you don’t have to be a personal trainer. Booty and Brains

I just received this book a few days ago and I’m already enthralled in the knowledge transfer from Brett. I signed up to his monthly subscription the day after reading this book which is a perfect supplement to the programs. Being someone who naturally had a booty - my goal is to keep it round and lift it to he heavens ( especially since I’m getting older). I feel more confident in reaching my aesthetic and strength goals because of this book. Cant wait to see my inevitable progression.

This book is a WEALTH of information from learning about Bret’s history into glute training to figuring out periodization and programming. It has everything you’d wanna know regarding glutes. Honestly this textbook should cost $200 with the amount of time, research and knowledge that has gone to it. We are lucky to be able to gain so much of the knowledge that he has spent years and years to learn. Still working through it but it’s a must!

This book is EPIC! I'm nowhere near finishing it yet (600+ pages), but what I've read so far has been incredibly insightful and is helping me to understand the important factors in building muscle and designing my own programs for results. I highly recommend this book to anyone on their own fitness and muscle building journey. The quality and amount of information you get at this price is insane, and its all backed by evidence!

I haven't even finished the book, but had to come here and write this. It is packed with so much information and knowledge that you could continuously learn every time you read it. Without sounding dramatic, I feel like it will be life changing. Bret is extremely intelligent and it shows. I love that he provides the scientific inserts, but keeps it basic enough that it's easily understood. I will recommend this to anyone interested in fitness.

I am a Bret Contreras fan so I couldn’t wait for this book to come out. It is fantastic! It is well organized and comprehensive, but broken down int easily consumable bits. He includes tons of pictures and explanations. If you want to train effectively and efficiently get this book. You won’t learn just what to do, but why you do it. He gives many workout programs for many different workout styles so those of us on a budget get extra value. I already had his Strong Curves book so I wondered if I’d be wasting my $ on this one. While many of the principles are unchanged, this new book gives you so much more. I am so glad I have it and I’d encourage anyone considering it to buy it. I am confident you will use it and refer back to it for years to come.

I’ve purchased Vicky Justiz workout guidelines/plans, Workouts by Katya Elise Henry and so many other else and this is by far THE MOST INFORMATIVE, ALL IN ONE, GLUTE-BOOTY BUILDING BIBLE. We all need to know the cause and effect of what we’re doing, most especially when it comes to your workouts. Why you do a certain exercise/ what muscles it targets, how to properly execute it, and some other things that are very important to reaching your goal is now in our reach because Bret “the glute guy” laid everything in this book. Evidence based knowledge, studies, workout programs etc.. He is an expert in this area, he’s got the PhD and years of experience that’s why I trust him. Compared to others who just sell workout plans/exercises for expensive prices, which I find lacking of the very important information needed for a quality,effective and safe workouts/guidelines. This book is very cheap for all the knowledge/time/effort that Bret put into this book. I am very grateful to the author for all the hardwork you did and by selling it for a very affordable price for everyone. PS I am not related to Bret, I am not paid to give this review. I've followed Bret and his work for years, utilizing his methods from Strong Curves, and have always found him to be both passionate and thorough in his devotion to the science of glute training.... But this book blew me away! It's got answers to questions I never even thought to ask about the subject. At over 600 pages, this may well be the definitive text on glute development for many years to come. If you're at all interested in the subject, you'll probably be geeking out like me as you flip through it, and then rushing to the gym to get to work.

Great information. I have fixed so much of my normal routine and am challenging myself daily due to the new exercises and techniques I’ve learned from this book. This was actually a Christmas gift for my husband, who has been following Bret Contreras for awhile now, but I have kind of stolen it from him and have been putting together my own workout routines. I didn’t expect this book to be so big and so full of information. I feel like a healthier, more knowledgeable person just by reading this. Bret is a genius and he lays things out in ways that are easy to understand. Anyone interested in any aspect of fitness whether it be personally or professionally, should get this book.

This is THE glute-training book, look nowhere else if you want to learn about glutes.

I like how big the book is and just how much detail is covered in regards to training, it is a glute-encyclopedia with a wide array of exercises, training programs and nice pictures to learn from. As both an avid reader of everything fitness and somebody who has been glute-training using Bret's techniques for the last five years, this is THE book I have been looking for to push my training forward.

Useless as a workout guide. Perfect for science geek

I returned this book. I wanted a workout manual filled with exercises. This is literally an Anatomy & Physiology textbook of the glutes. That’s fine if you’re a science geek and want all the details on muscle fibers and how & why a movement is necessary for specific muscles and all that jazz. Only about 15-20% of the book is useful to someone who just wants exercises. The rest is Bret’s life story as well as science and research. It’s so huge and cumbersome that i wouldn’t take this anywhere

This is by far the most informative book on glute training out there! 608 pages detailing training splits, biomechanics, anatomy, dieting strategies, breaking plateaus, and so much more. Not only is the information backed by research, but you have Bret Contreras' 20+ years of personal training experience poured in here as well!

This should be subtitled The Booty Bible

I wanted to completely finish reading this before leaving a review just to make sure the whole thing was as good as the beginning, and quite honestly, it was even better than expected. This has to be the most complete and comprehensive book on glutes ever conceived. (It might also be the most helpful book about training that I’ve ever read.) There is NOTHING about the glutes that isn’t covered here: anatomy, mechanics, functionality, training, sample workouts, exercise descriptions. Bret goes into how he constructs (and personalizes) workouts for his clients, so if you’re looking to create your own workout, this will tell you how. He not only goes into the how but the why behind each recommendation, so you understand every exercise and variation and how it will work for you (which I find makes my workouts more productive). I am NOT any kind of fitness competitor or athlete; I’m just a normal woman who would like her hips and back to stop hurting (and who wouldn’t mind regaining the fullness I once had round back). I work out in my basement, and I don’t have a lot of equipment, but I’ve been following the programs in Bret’s other book, Strong Curves, for about 4 months, and the gains I’ve made in strength are pretty damn amazing. I can only see those gains increasing after reading Glute Lab. This book was admittedly quite dense and I wondered how long it was going to take me to read, but it goes quickly, and it kept me riveted the whole time. The writing style is personable and although the content gets scientific, it’s never hard to understand. There are excellent descriptions and photos of all the exercises, and the infographics make pertinent information easy to find. If you’re a fan of Bret’s work, or if you’re just hungry for quality information on glute growth, I can’t recommend this book highly enough.

An Absolute Must!!

I remember when I first discovered Bret on Instagram. I began doing some of the workout videos he posted. I then proceeded to buy his Strong Curves book and complete those programs; which were very different to how I had been training for he past 6 years. His training methods worked wonders for me, so I went ahead and joined his Booty by Bret online. I was ecstatic whenever he made the announcement of his new book. I am already a two chapters in, and I love everything about it. The breakdown of everything that he researches, the scientific sections, the diagrams, the explanations, the photos of exercises are beautiful. This book is truly written for all types of people, whether you’re a beginner or advanced. Bret is always sharing knowledge that I continue to use in my training and see improvements. I 150% recommend this book!

After Arnold, no-one one has had a bigger impact on the weight training world than Bret Contreras. His invention and popularizing of the hip thrust exercise, and of glute training in general, has radically changed whats going on inside gyms around the world. Not just for women; even the guys have caught on now. At my gym the hip thrusters are now being used by bikini competitors, male bodybuilders and StrongMen competitors alike. That said, don't fall into the trap of thinking that the "Glute Guy" only knows glute training. Contreras does active research on training in general, and his general teachings has relevance for all muscle groups. The book is a well of information, containing both theory and practical advice, and even though it goes enough in depth to satisfy even fitness nerds like me, it is written in a very accessible style. If you're at all interested in glute training, the book is worth buying for the chapter with exercise descriptions / tips alone. It covers all glute exercises you can think of, as well as general lower body exercises like squats with variations, deadlifts with variations, lunges with variations, etc. But that is only a small part of the book; it also contains theory about what makes muscles grow, about diet, and even lays out complete training programs, which is something many training book authors often skimp on. I suppose what best sums up how good I think the book is, is the fact that I've ordered 18 more copies; one for each of my coaching colleagues. :)

I’m so glad I purchased this book! It’s a big book and a lot to get through, but intelligently written and packed with useful and applicable information. The pics are real and exercise routines clearly laid out and doable. I’m reading it all he way through but you could certainly skip around. Worth the money and will be a lifeline reference tool!

Booty goals or not.. this book is PACKED with knowledge

SO glad I purchased. It is the perfect mix of easy to understand tools for the importance of Glute training AND HARD CORE SCIENCE to back it up. This has drastically helped my training regiment and how I look at training as a whole. This book isn’t just about a booty, it’s a great tool to get strong as hell!

If you’re a fan of Bret’s work, or if you’re just hungry for quality information on glute growth, I can’t recommend this book highly enough.

An Absolute Must!!

I remember when I first discovered Bret on Instagram. I began doing some of the workout videos he posted. I then proceeded to buy his Strong Curves book and complete those programs; which were very different to how I had been training for he past 6 years. His training methods worked wonders for me, so I went ahead and joined his Booty by Bret online. I was ecstatic whenever he made the announcement of his new book. I am already a two chapters in, and I love everything about it. The breakdown of everything that he researches, the scientific sections, the diagrams, the explanations, the photos of exercises are beautiful. This book is truly written for all types of people, whether you’re a beginner or advanced. Bret is always sharing knowledge that I continue to use in my training and see improvements. I 150% recommend this book!

Best book on training you will find

After Arnold, no-one one has had a bigger impact on the weight training world than Bret Contreras. His invention and popularizing of the hip thrust exercise, and of glute training in general, has radically changed whats going on inside gyms around the world. Not just for women; even the guys have caught on now. At my gym the hip thrusters are now being used by bikini competitors, male bodybuilders and StrongMen competitors alike. That said, don't fall into the trap of thinking that the "Glute Guy" only knows glute training. Contreras does active research on training in general, and his general teachings has relevance for all muscle groups. The book is a well of information, containing both theory and practical advice, and even though it goes enough in depth to satisfy even fitness nerds like me, it is written in a very accessible style. If you're at all interested in glute training, the book is worth buying for the chapter with exercise descriptions / tips alone. It covers all glute exercises you can think of, as well as general lower body exercises like squats with variations, deadlifts with variations, lunges with variations, etc. But that is only a small part of the book; it also contains theory about what makes muscles grow, about diet, and even lays out complete training programs, which is something many training book authors often skimp on. I suppose what best sums up how good I think the book is, is the fact that I've ordered 18 more copies; one for each of my coaching colleagues. :)

Detailed and generous gift to anyone looking for great glutes

I am a Bret Contreras fan so I couldn’t wait for this book to come out. It is fantastic! It is well organized and comprehensive, but broken down int easily consumable bits. He includes tons of pictures and explanations. If you want to train effectively and efficiently get this book. You won’t learn just what to do, but why you do it. He gives many workout programs for many different workout styles so those of us on a budget get extra value. I already had his Strong Curves book so I wondered if I’d be wasting my $ on this one. While many of the principles are unchanged, this new book gives you so much more. I am so glad I have it and I’d encourage anyone considering it to buy it. I am confident you will use it and refer back to it for years to come.

The booty building bible

I’ve purchased Vicky Justiz workout guidelines/plans, Workouts by Katya Elise Henry and so many other else and this is by far THE MOST INFORMATIVE, ALL IN ONE, GLUTE-BOOTY BUILDING BIBLE. We all need to know the cause and effect of what we’re doing, most especially when it comes to your workouts. Why you do a certain exercise/ what muscles it targets, how to properly execute it, and some other things that are very important to reaching your goal is now in our reach because Bret “the glute guy” laid everything in this book. Evidence based knowledge, studies, workout programs etc.. He is an expert in this area, he’s got the PhD and years of experience that’s why I trust him. Compared to others who just sell workout plans/exercises for expensive prices, which I find lacking of the very important information needed for a quality,effective and safe workouts/guidelines. This book is very cheap for all the knowledge/time/effort that Bret put into this book. I am very grateful to the author for all the hardwork you did and by selling it for a very affordable price for everyone. PS I am not related to Bret, I am not paid to give this review. I just put in writing the truth after having purchased different books and workout guidelines from alot of well-known newbie booty builders out there.. The pinnacle of glute training

I've followed Bret and his work for years, utilizing his methods from Strong Curves, and have always found him to be both passionate and thorough in his devotion to the science of glute training.... But this book blew me away! It's got answers to questions I never even thought to ask about the subject. At over 600 pages, this may well be the definitive text on glute development for many years to come. If you're at all interested in the subject, you'll probably be geeking out like me as you flip through it, and then rushing to the gym to get to work.

The absolute glute book

This is the encyclopedia of glutes! I reference this book at least three times a week. After readying it and applying some corrective movements for developing my glute shape I can actually feel them growing where I wasn’t previously feeling them activate during training.

This book is legit! So much info at your fingertips! There are so many pages of awesome content that you can use the book as a weight for an elevated glute bridge workout! Hahaha! It’s a 2-fer! Seriously, good stuff....

Beautifully done!

This book is so beautiful I almost don't want to open it and bend the spine. Haha! It’s literally the size and quality of a college text book. And it basically is! “How to Get a Better Butt 101”. Great color photos and a breakdown of the science and methods. I’m blown away!

Arrived damaged

Super disappointed. I was really looking forward to this book but it arrived damaged. The box is totally fine so this book was sent like this. After spending a lot of money on this book I expected to at least receive a new book.

I was not expecting a full textbook when I ordered this to be honest. I was pleasantly surprised about the amount of information that is in there and can say it is a must buy.

You can build glutes! At any age! Transform your physique!

Bret’s book will transform you mentally, physically, and help you achieve the physique of your dreams! I have been training with Bret for nearly 2 years. I didn’t even start physique training until I was 46 (pics on left) and now 48 years old I became a pro fitness competitor. All because of Bret’s strength training and glute building methods. No crazy supplements, no steroids, no magic pill.... just following his methods and this book! It’s a must read. I have never had so much life balance and happiness in my life. This book also touches on nutrition, which is key to building muscle. Bret is one of the most brilliant and passionate people I know and his book shares all of his research that works!! My photos say it all. But this book and achieve anything you desire.

Useless as a workout guide. Perfect for science geek

I returned this book. I wanted a workout manual filled with exercises. This is literally an Anatomy & Physiology textbook of the glutes. That’s fine if you’re a science geek and want all the details on muscle fibers and how & why a movement is necessary for specific muscles and all that jazz. Only about 15-20% of the book is useful to someone who just wants exercises. The rest is Bret’s life story as well as science and research. It’s so huge and cumbersome that i wouldn’t take this anywhere

A Must Buy For Glute Training!

This is by far the most informative book on glute training out there! 608 pages detailing training splits, biomechanics, anatomy, dieting strategies, breaking plateaus, and so much more. Not only is the information backed by research, but you have Bret Contreras' 20+ years of personal training experience poured in here as well!

This should be subtitled The Booty Bible

I wanted to completely finish reading this before leaving a review just to make sure the whole thing was as good as the beginning, and quite honestly, it was even better than expected. This has to be the most complete and comprehensive book on glutes ever conceived. (It might also be the most helpful book about training that I’ve ever read.) There is NOTHING about the glutes that isn’t covered here: anatomy, mechanics, functionality, training, sample workouts, exercise descriptions. Bret goes into how he constructs (and personalizes) workouts for his clients, so if you’re looking to create your own workout, this will tell you how. He not only goes into the how but the why behind each recommendation, so you understand every exercise and variation and how it will work for you (which I find makes my workouts more productive). I am NOT any kind of fitness competitor or athlete; I’m just a normal woman who would like her hips and back to stop hurting (and who wouldn’t mind regaining the fullness I once had round back). I work out in my basement, and I don’t have a lot of equipment, but I’ve been following the programs in Bret’s other book, Strong Curves, for about 4 months, and the gains I’ve made in strength are pretty damn amazing. I can only see those gains increasing after reading Glute Lab. This book was admittedly quite dense and I wondered how long it was going to take me to read, but it goes quickly, and it kept me riveted the whole time. The writing style is personable and although the content gets scientific, it’s never hard to understand. There are excellent descriptions and photos of all the exercises, and the infographics make pertinent information easy to find. If you’re a fan of Bret’s work, or if you’re just hungry for quality information on glute growth, I can’t recommend this book highly enough.

Best Textbook Ever!

This book is the best text book I've ever bought, and the first text book I've ever bought willingly. Its very easy to comprehend because the way it's written makes it seem like you're having a convo with Bret himself. It's also very pleasing to look at which makes you want to read it even more.
