Ghostly Ordeal (A Harper Harlow Mystery Book 12)

Loved the story. Oh my, what surprises we find out in this book. Although I think Harper and Jared's reactions regarding their overnight house guests was a little over the top. I am sure it was meant to be a funny scene but it came across very judgmental instead. But it sure was eye opening. The ending of the book was great. This was a really good book.

This author and series are always enjoyable and this newest installment is no exception. With this book, the family drama goes to a whole new level, there is of course a murder mystery, snark, ghosts, and a healthy dose of romance. Highly recommend this book and this series.

I love this series each book just gets better and better. I like how their was more interaction from Harper's parents in this book as it explains a lot about her. This Author rose a good job of making each book easily readable as a standalone book but makes you want to read the whole series because you can not help but love each character in the book.

Harper, Jarad, and Zander are at it again. I love the way these characters interact and stay true. This story had a moral dilemma that was handled with grace. I liked it.

I really like learning more about the families. Jared and Harper are great together.. Sander and Shawn are great. Harper's mother is not a nice person.

What a great read had me laughing out loud. Pour Harper having to put up with crazy mom and dad. Like to laugh and uncover clues this is the book for you

I love this series, the heroine is smart and honest and interesting, the hero is sweet and interesting on his own, their relationship is wonderful. My favorite is that they work together to solve the mystery!

Love this whole series!

Harper is always fun to read!

You’ll find a similarity of characters between one of this author’s series and others. This is not necessarily a bad thing; the characters are appealing (which is likely why we see them reinvented over and over). Harper is good-hearted and smart but far less snarky than many female MCs we see today. Naturally, there is the male, gay best friend from childhood, but he is appealing as well. There is plenty of romance in the series, but little steam, which I appreciate. It is also quite unusual, in my experience, for a series to be able to carry on for more than a dozen books without seriously losing steam. I read all fourteen books in a row; some were better than others; there were a couple of fairly similar plots along the line; the characters’ relationships carry the series through.

Love it... Now I seriously love Zander but I have to say I enjoyed that he wasn't in this one as much it was more of the new dimension with Jared and Harper moving into their own place so it's natural there is more separation it worked well... As for Harper's parents omg talk about hilarious poor Harper maybe she can just claim she is adopted...lol They are both a lot of work. Harper and Jared are both awesome as always even with a hick-up or two they both showed growth and maturity in this story that made it even better than previous stories, Harper also seems to become even more in tune with her ghost whispering abilities and now I am hanging out for the cross-over with Rowan and Quinn yay. A really enjoyable read, with a fantastic mystery and characters I love.

I love this series but this book was just okay. My biggest issue with the whole story is having Jared investigating the murder. Since when is it okay for the murder suspect's daughter and boyfriend to investigate the murder? I understand that Harper does what she does from the sidelines so there isn't a lot of interference (unless she's looking through potential evidence), but there seems to be an ethical issue to have the soon to be son in law investigating a murder where Gloria is the main suspect.

This is such an enjoyable series, but I was looking forward to a break from Zander; however, Harper's mother is even worse! There's some humor mixed in with a well-plotted murder mystery, as usual, and the thoughtfully placed misdirects keep things interesting. The investigation is solved satisfactorily; however, the end result of the cruise Harper and Zander may be dragging everyone on remains to be seen!

On dear goddess this author and her glittering eye slits. This book was as bad as her other series in the over use of this phrase. We get it. New phrase please! Other wise very good book as usual. Love seeing the growth of the characters. I would like to see more ghost hunting with zander for their business. We don't open that way anymore. The side characters of their business get lost. The mystery was fun. Liked seeing more of her parents.

This is another enjoyable book in the series. Harper's mom's "boyfriend" is found dead, and Gloria is now a suspect. Harper is determined to find out the truth to clear her mother. She has to deal with her parents terrible parenting, a surly ghost, and Jared being overprotective. I love the dynamic of the characters, especially Zander. A fun series.

Love seeing Harper and Jared starting their life together, being happy together. They make a good team together - and glad to see that no matter what they are facing, they face it together. Harper is lucky to have the love of her life and a best friend that helps keep her from going off the rails when her parents insert their craziness into her life. Once again - read it all in one day. Looking forward to more adventures and stories for Harper and all of them!

The ending on this one did not impress me. It didn't really even humor me. Compared to the previous 11 books, the ending to this one was not as energetic or as unexpected. The story itself was good. It kept me on my feet until the last chapter, but the ending had no 'bang'. Overall, it was a cute fun story and I really like the characters.

I love all of the books by Lily Harper Hart and the books as Amanda M Lee. This one is no different. However, I do feel Jerrod is becoming too needy. There is a fine line between Jerrod wanting Harper to be happy and him turning in his man card. Right now he's close to handing it over. He is a cop and supposed to be a manly man but lately he is becoming more needy and whiney. I hope you give him back his manhood soon otherwise he won't be strong enough for Harper.

Family drama and for once Zander isn't at the center of it all. I feel like we've gotten to know Harper's dad pretty well (or at least much better than her mom) in previous books and now we get to know her mom. Unfortunately for Harper, we get to know her while she's under investigation for her boyfriend's murder. Yikes. Loved the story and seeing how everyone is doing with the new living situation. Can't wait for the next one and the crossover with Rowan.

Jared and Harper can’t quite catch a break. When Harper’s mother’s boyfriend winds up murdered and she becomes a suspect, all kinds of havoc issues. Now they have to find a murderer and deal with what her parents have been up to.... Awesome read! Enjoy!!!

This is no. 12 and is as quirky as the first. There is always a twist of two, some light loving and a mystery of two. A good series to take to the beach or camping, well written and flows well. Please do yourself a favor, it is Spring, time to read!!👵

And I truly wish I had a Zander to hang out with, the characters are interesting; the victim is colorful, especially for a ghost; and I had a very hard time putting it down before I was done. Just enough paranormal, romance, and mystery for an enjoyable light read!

Love these characters. Some entertaining moments with Harper's parents. An interesting mystery. Zander isn't as prominent in this book but he has some good moments. Highly recommend this series and Lily Harper Hart's (also those under Amanda M Lee) other series. A cross over coming soon with Rowan.

Loved it! It was great seeing more of Harper's family and understanding more about her mother as well as her parents' relationship. The mystery was great and I was pleased with the ending. Looking forward to 13!

I always enjoy adventures with Harper and Jared. This one did not disappoint. I love the creation of characters - they are always realistic and engaging. My only request for the next book is more Zander and Shawn - Zander is hilarious!

Harper and Jared are great! There is a god bit of emphasis on how bad parents can screw the child up, but also how a good and even minimally involved parent can make all the difference in the world. Good story.

Harper's mom dates lawyers. A lot. The latest one is !murdered and the suspect pool is limited to, well, anyone who had ever met him. We get to know Harper's parents better. They are a blast!

This ghost drove me nuts. I liked the story and we always get literally ending, but this ghost was a piece of work and made me want to strangle a character in a book. Some people are just downright garbage in real life.

I absolutely love this author and this series. I’m a huge fan of sarcastic wit and humor, so this is the perfect book! Harper deals with her wacky mother in this one along with solving the murder of her mother’s flavor of the moment. It was hilarious but also had it’s deep, serious moments too that made for a great read.

I gave this book a four star rating because it was mostly about Harper and Jared and the in-laws. The reader gets a great picture of what Harper's parents are like.

I like Haper , Jared , Zander , Shawn , Mel . Phil and Gloria are something else. I like that they got rid of two ghosts . I think Gloria is crazy and self centered , very full of her self .

I love the all the books in this series . This book gives us a deeper look at Harper's parents and I laughed out loud at some of their antics. This is a great book.

So many twists. I hated that Zander wasn't in this one as much but happy to have a few more characters come into play more. Can't wait until the cruise ;)

Once again I’m laughing through the whole book. It’s a great read and quite snarky. Just make sure you don’t actively drink anything while reading as you may end up doing a few spit takes.

Love the characters and the way they interact with each other. As with the whole series, once I pick the book up I don't put it down until it is done.

Great characters, love the series. Can't wait for the next one. I want friends like Zander and Jarrod . Please keep writing.
