Functional Skills Maths Level 2 - Study

This book is really helpful and helping me get my brain back into gear. Ten years ago I completed a Maths Level 2 course unfortunately the qualification is no longer valid to enter university so i have to do functional skills/GCSE maths. I am a mature student This book is proving helpful in re activating my brain. I would recommend to anyone who is studying functional skills or wanting to get their brain back into gear.

Brand new book which I bought for my studies. Not yet taken my exams - Maths 1 and 2. Functional skills are great. TIP - for those who are terrible at maths and have a fear, phobia or just plain hate maths, go also into the library and get the basic baby books on maths to learn at home on your own until you understand the formulas to do all sorts of maths workings out, then you will understand maths! No shame in that so long as your learning and you pass your exams :)))

I recently re sat my level 2 maths having had two failed attempts. This book was an absolute life saver not only does it break down the maths to clearly explain the process for each subject it also has a section towards the back with exam style questions as well as the answers at the back explaining how to answer the questions.

This book helped me get through a lot for maths because I needed to retake for apprenticeship 🙁 but I did the whole book within like 6 hours and I know everything from it, teaches you so well! And I’m rubbish at maths! Haha, parents get it for your kids and it will help them so much!

As someone who is not the most academic when it comes to maths,I had to study maths in order to pass level 2 health and social care. I bought this book on a whim hoping it would at least help me have a decent chance of passing. Ti my surprise and delight i passed!I wouldn't have if I hadn't of used this unassuming green gem of a book to help me.

If like me a Middle Aged adult who thought school was to socialise & left with nothing, to further myself with qualifications later in life when you realise how important they are!! These books are a wonder & expain in easy step by step simple instructions how to attack a math!!! Wouldn’t have passed without these extra tutoring homework books!!

Much better than the online programme I was forced to use by my learning provider! Actually contains the things you will see on your exam paper. Lots of questions to practice with and answers at the back so you can check your answers. Highly recommend.

This is a comprehensive study guide though some of the questions are very culture-specific. It lacks a lot of practice tests but these are available separately. Occasionally, it introduces topics out of order, such as references to pie in section one when it isn't introduced until section two...same with volume ad density If the instructor isn't careful, this can tend to undermine confidence. Overall, though, the best of its kind.

This book is fantastic and has really helped me re-fresh my maths knowledge in preparation for my Functional skills exam. Its structured extremely well and includes many brilliant examples for each subject matter. Each example is broken down into clear, concise and easy to follow steps which allowed me to understand each and every subject matter. The book also includes a reasonable amount of various questions with the answers included. My only concern is that the book advertises itself as Functional Maths Skills level 2. However, upon performing a couple of on-line Functional Skills level 2 tests, they are significantly harder than the content of the book. Ideally I would have liked to see some more challenging examples and tests in the book to prepare myself for the online tests, and ultimately my exam. Overall I would definitely recommend this book to anyone wanting to learn the basics of functional maths, and its also fantastic value for money. Definitely worth 5 stars.

This was a very useful course book to assist you in preparing toward the functional skills exam. Excellent should you not have studied maths for many years .Good to use along side studying with a maths course provider. Would suggest you purchase the practice tests CGP book too. The short test questions should be made very similar to exams questioning.

Easy to read and follow. Keeps maths simple and easy to understand. Relevant to day living so makes use more understandable. Definitely got me through my FS2 exam. Book used, but excellent quality. Recommended product.

I have to pass functional math and this is a handy tool to help me get on top of the simple stuff I need to know. Some of the test answers are incorrect though but I don't think that detracts from the benefit I have had from it so far - only about 20% of the way through...

Great for refreshing your Math skills and it's always good to improve and challenge yourself. Recommended if you are job hunting. Certainly is giving my brain a work out after a very long time. Quite good fun too. Great value!

This book is what makes CGP book Brilliant and worth every penny. The questions and explanations are written in a way the reader can understand and it encourages you learn at your own pace at home. excellent, i cant fault it.

I am currently preparing for the exam 2 and since my maths skills are way under rated , I am using this book. The explanations are clear and easy to understand. I have found that the answer pages do not always show the working out . I have also spotted some errors , or maybe I am the one making mistakes . Not sure.

I bought this book to help pass L2 functional skills maths. What I like about is the fact that it is written in simple language which makes it easy to understand and not too expensive. Ideal book for both beginners and people who just need to brush up their maths skills

This is very good and very clear instructions based on real scenarios ie measuring tiles for the kitchen etc. Recommended for the functional skills to get into uni but now functional skills has changed I am not sure if this helps as I bought this two years ago

I have not used my math skills much since I finished school, and I really needed en refreshing. This book has the simple math you learn at school but you forget when you are adult. It contains very simple math but practical one, and that I was looking for. Applied arithmetic in real situations. If you want to refresh algebra, this book is the previous step.

I can thoroughly recommend this book. I had 1 month to get 'my head around' Math's again and I would not have passed my Level 2 without it! It is very concise with an excellent mix of theory/practice i.e not too mind boggling! As a mature student over 50 I found this book extremely helpful! Thank you
